Indonesia s An International Market Essay
1 Indonesia contribution to international market
Goods and services produced in a country and being sold outside is globally known as export
(Mankiw, 2004:240). Suppose that a country do an International Trade and become an exporter of
some goods, domestic producers will get more benefits, while local consumers will get loss because
the local price is higher. However, government policy about the opening of international trade itself
will be profitable for both concerned countries (Mankiw, 2006:221).For Indonesia, the activities of the
export has been encouraged since 1983. In the same year, export was getting more attention in order to
spur Indonesia economy growth. Indonesia slowly changes its strategy of industrialization, from the
emphasis on import substitution industries to export promotion industries. Along with this new policy,
the economy of Indonesia is getting better. It was proven in 2008 that the cumulative value of export
reached USD 118,430million, in other words it increased by 26.92 percent, while for non oil and
natural gas sector reached USD 92,260million or increased by 21.63 percent. The other sector, for
instance agricultural, industry, and mining had also increased, each by 34.65 percent, 21.04 percent,
and 21.57 percent compared to the previous year.
For the goods that Indonesia exports, there are 10 types of which contributes 58.8 percent to the total
of non oil and natural gas export. They are vegetable animal oil and fat, mineral fuels, machine or

A Report On The Group
The group met on five consecutive days during the school holidays from Monday 18th Friday 22nd
April 2016, with a shared lunch/ BBQ on the Friday. The young participants and counsellors arrived at
460 Corbett Rd, Ngakuru from Rotorua. Groups starting around 10:00am with ice breakers,
whakawhanaungatanga and introductions. The group was run by two Equine Assisted Growth and
Learning Association (EAGALA) trained facilitators. Claire Cornwell, a mental health professional
(occupational therapist) and Emma Baker, the equine specialist. Healthy snacks and water were
available during the sessions. There were 5 female participants. The age group ranged from 13 years

The day s activity was then explained to the group. Each day the activity required them to interact
with the horses and make use of a wide range of resources available to them in the paddock. The
participants were given opportunities to discuss their understanding of the life skills being taught and
share their thoughts, ideas and problem solving strategies in order to complete the activity.
Discussions about their experiential learning, both during and after the activity, allowed each
participant to share their thoughts and feelings and how this related to the life skill they were focusing
on. In order to encourage the participants to generalize the life skills they were learning in the
paddock, they were encouraged to reflect on how they had used these skills in their interaction with
others in their lives. Participant Feedback: During the initial session the participants were asked to
form relationships with the horses. It became evident in discussions following this initial task that the
participants were not able to describe what positive relationship skills might be. The participants
explained that the horses were not used to us , they seemed like they are frightened , they re scary ,
maybe we are not doing something right and they don t trust us yet . The participants did identify that
the horses do what we do, echo our behaviour and this enabled the metaphorical learning to begin. The
conversation continued regarding

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Linocut
Linocut A block made of linoleum
Carving tools Paper fabrics
Linocut is a form of relief printing in which the artist cuts a design into the surface of the block. Then
a mirror image is created when the artist places a paper or fabric over the surface and presses down
with a hand or a roller. The raised parts of the piece transfer over on to the paper or fabric to create the
overall desired print. Linocut has both benefits and drawbacks as a form of printmaking. The major
benefit of this form of art is that it is softer than wood making it easier to carve and use. Another
benefit is that color can be added to the prints. However, there are several drawbacks of using linocut
such as linoleum wears down more quickly under pressure, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The artist first coats the metal plate in an acid resistant substance known as ground and is drawn on.
The artist then uses a sharp tool or etching needle down to the plate. Hard grounds are employed for
finely detailed linear work. Soft ground can also be used, and virtually any tool can be used to expose
the plate and resembles crayon and pencil drawings (Sayre, 2012). Whichever ground is used by the
artist is then placed in an acid bath. The acid eats, or etches, into the plate where the lines have been
drawn; the longer the exposed plate is left in the bath, and the stronger the solution, the greater the
width and depth of the etched line (Sayre, 2012). An artist can also create a way in stopping out a
section by using varnishes or ground over the etched surface. Once the plate is finished being exposed
to acid, it is inked and printed. Etching has both benefits and drawbacks. Some of the benefits to
etching are that it is a fluid and free process and it is able to capture the sense of immediacy as a
sketch. However, some drawbacks to etching include it is a medium that requires calculations and
planning, an ability to manipulate chemicals, and a willingness to risk losing everything in order to
achieve the desired effect (Sayre,

Essay on Singapore
How might the Singapore society differ were it not for these technologies would the society be more
or less heavily regulated? Lee recommends analysing politics and society by addressing how power
struggles and relations were played out in the pre Internet era, namely the maintenance of political
control via public support (2005: 74). Foucault defines governmentality as the point of contact where
the technologies of power interact with the governed. This spurs Lee to postulate that, in order to
retain power in the Internet era, governments need to be actively involved in shaping the design as
well as the societal, cultural and regulatory environment in which the Internet and other new media
technologies operate (2005: 75). One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are examples of society being shaped by government via technology, but Castells maintains that
society shapes technology according to its needs and desires, not vice versa (2005: 3). However,
Singapore is a society that has a history of being heavily influenced by government policy. As such,
there is less resistance to technologically governed control, which supports the idea that the
relationship between society and technology is a co constituted one. Singaporean society in the
context of ICT is perhaps unique because it is different from other countries that readily adopted and
promoted similar technologies. Ragnedda believes that new digitalized surveillance allowed a new
form of social control that tries to direct and influence the behaviour of people , but the technologies
themselves are merely tools (2011: 180). As Lee affirms, Singapore considered itself as having a
legitimate right to influence and manage the citizenry (2005: 79). Therefore, it is little surprise the
Singapore government has considerable surveillance capabilities and does not require a court warrant
for monitoring (O Hara, 2008: 15). Lee asserts that the relatively low level of online public
engagement in politics is a product of the PAP s intolerance for political dissent (2005: 78). In many
respects, society itself has not changed,

Summary Of Women In Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus
Titus Andronicus is renowned for its bloodshed, the references to dead time and the night, foreshadow
the great loss which saturates this play (2.3. 99). Shakespeare s use of diction, alliteration, and rhyme
expose Tamora s tragic flaw which is venegeance, a catalyst that threatens her morality. Shakespeare
examines the complexity of gender roles that obstruct female liberty. The endurance of a patriarchal
society that promotes prudence over sexual expression. Thus, the metaphor of the wild woman
demonstrates how this society can oppress one s sexuality and how human nature breaks down when
vengeance is rampant.
The construct of the wild woman develops through the symbolic connotations of nature and the forest.
This imagery reflects how revenge perpetuates disorder within a society. For example, the line, A
barren detested vale conveys a sense of emptiness (2.3. 93). Also, the contradicting snake imagery
demonstrates Tamora s decent into evil. For example, The birds chant melody on every bush, the
snake lies rolled in the cheerful sun in contrast to, A thousand fiends, a thousand hissing snakes (2.3
12,13 100). Earlier, the singing birds and sunbathing snakes illustrate the natural order within this
environment. However, the hissing snakes disrupt any positive associations with nature, and her
description of her surroundings exemplifies her changes in consciousness. Therefore, the tone of this
text shifts when evil, i.e. vengeance invades society.

Post World War II Size
On Monday, 24 February 2014, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced massive cuts to the size
of the armed services, slashing the army to its pre World War II size. (breithbart.com) Hagel s plan
called for a 25% reduction in manpower by 2019. Historically, these cuts equate to a perceived failure
of will power of the American government by its global enemies. Such cuts are sure to decrease the
readiness posture of fighting units across the military. First order effects from cuts to funding equate to
poorly maintained equipment, reduced personnel readiness, as well as fewer opportunities for
professional military educational type schools. Second order effects include gaps in the NCO and
officer corps due to lack of funds to send ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(breithbart.com) This unwillingness to fund defense led both Hitler and the Japanese to believe they
could make war on the United States with any repercussion.
After World War II, President Truman cited the end of the war to justify his defense cuts; however, the
Korean War began, arguably, because of the large scale military cuts, which encouraged the Soviets
and Chinese Communists toward aggression on the Korean peninsula. As a result, government
officials increased the defense budget from $9.1 billion to just under $53.
Immediately following the Vietnam conflict, congress once again began defunding the military. The
end state of these specific cuts resulted in the United States pulling out of Saigon as communism
dominated the country. Additionally, the Soviets later invaded Afghanistan compelled to do so
possibly because of a perceived American distaste for foreign war. The election of Ronald Reagan was
instrumental in the recovery of this mistake as he implemented large increases in military
expenditures.

Introduction Of Six Sigma As A Quality Program
Introduction to Six Sigma
Six Sigma is a quality program stressing the need for quantitative quality standards that focuses on
improving the product for the customer, and that this in turn, will improve quality and reduce costs.
Introduced by engineer Bill Smith at Motorola in 1986, Six Sigma is now widely used throughout the
manufacturing industry. In statistics, sigma is the notation for the standard deviation, which is related
to variation. The ultimate goal of Six Sigma is to reduce variation in a process in order to reduce
defects caused by a process and defects seen by customers. Six Sigma is broken up into two
disciplines for manufacturing, DMAIC and DMADV. DMAIC is used to continuously improve
existing processes, while DMADV is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Six Sigma projects are generally performed on teams so fully defining the problem and objective is
vital to the success of the rest of the project. Once teams split up, if a problem is not fully defined, Six
Sigma trained employees may move on to the measure step collecting information that does not solve
the same problem. Six Sigma has a set of statistical tools that are used to analyze data. The next two
steps in DMAIC are improve and control. After analyzing the statistics, it is time to improve the
project. Controlling the project is the final step. It is not enough to implement an improvement change.
The change must be monitored. In manufacturing plants, there can be a strong opposition to change
when workers have been performing the same work for years. Whether it be fear of replacement or the
thought that you are there to make their job more difficult, low level workers resist change.
Controlling the improvement will keep the change in effect. Results may not be shown immediately.
In fact, many Six Sigma implementations actually harm the company at first until the culture of
continuous improvement disperses itself throughout all levels of the company. The last two steps in
the DMADV process are design and verify. Designing a new process from scratch is more difficult
than improving an existing process. Considerations for all stakeholders should be involved when
designing a new process including

Structural Functionalism, Conflict Theory And Symbolic...
According to the crime report produced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2015, there were an
estimated 1,197,704 violent crimes committed in the United States and violent crimes have increased
by 3.9% since 2014. The FBI defines violent crime as murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.
This increase in violent crimes is a major social issue and one that can lead to a sense of danger
amongst a society and its inhabitants. According to a study conducted in 2017 by Statistic Brain, 38%
of women feel unsafe to walk alone at night in the United States. This sense of fear is also why many
college campuses, including Clemson University, have blue lights all around campus for the police to
be called to at a moment s notice. Crime and deviant behavior are guaranteed to be a part of society
and there will never be a time when crime isn t something a society has to deal with. Knowing that the
issue is never going to completely go away, one can look at it through the three major theoretical
perspectives of structural functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. The Real World:
An Introduction to Sociology written by Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein defines structural functionalism as,
A paradigm based on the assumption that society is a unified whole that functions because of the
contributions of its separate structures. Structural functionalists would look at things that are issues
and see the possible ways the issue could be functional or serve a greater

Managing Cash Flow Management ( Cfm )
Managing Cash Flow
Cash Flow is composed of revenue or expense streams that change cash accounts over a specified
period. The statement of cash flows showing the amount of cash generated and used by a company
during the period is calculated by adding noncash charges (such as depreciation) to net income after
taxes. Changes in cash are usually derived from one of three activities financing, operations or
investing.
Sales growth can conceal many problems. When managing a growing company, watch expenses
carefully. If you see expenses growing faster than sales, examine costs carefully to find places to cut
or control them.
The lag between the time you have to pay your suppliers and employees and the time you collect from
your customers can be a problem. The solution is cash flow management (CFM). CFM means
delaying disbursements of cash as long as possible while requiring anyone who owes you money to
pay it quickly.
Rules (FASB) that govern the creation of financial statements are not about tracking the actual flow of
cash through your business. They are focused on measuring profit or loss.
Income does not tell you what happened to your cash balance during the period. It merely defines net
income based on the accounting rules used to create the income statement.
Only one component of understanding and managing your cash flow.

Observation Of A Coffee Shop In A High School Community
Coffee shops. Coffee shops are popular with good reason. They play an important role in society,
providing the daily dose of caffeine to many. Interestingly, there is a grander role of coffee shops than
simply coffee. While each coffee shop may have a unique touch, coffee shops, they overall provide a
place for people to go individually or in a group, to either work or socialise, or both. High School
students are a prime example of a community that could make good use of the environment coffee
shops provide. A High School community could provide a different type of customers to coffee shops,
not always buying drinks from the establishment, while friends will. Despite most High School
students not being a part of society that earns steady cash flow, they still can show to provide
important consumerism. Focusing on Oakmont High School students, I make use of participant
observation as a means to understand the role coffee shops play in a community of High School
students.
Oakmont High School students have a growing coffee shop culture with the nearby coffee
establishments, as students desire the ambiance that coffee shops provide, differing from their school
environment while still providing a setting to both work on assignments or hold conversations with

biodiversity and the survival of organisms after a disturbance to an ecosystem. Ecological succession
allows a biological community to evolve over time (2). This succession is divided into two distinct
sections: primary and secondary succession. Primary succession allows life to form in regions with
soil incapable of sustaining larger plants and by extension, larger animals (2). Secondary succession
occurs in areas where a community used to exist, but was removed; leaving behind soil capable of
sustaining life (2). This process allows bare rock to transform into a hillside or a forest to recover after

Imperialism In West Africa
Imperialism is acquisition of new territories by a state and the incorporation of these territories into a
political system as subordinate colonies. Imperialism is a policy of extending a country s power and
influence through military force. In other words, it refers to the practice by which a country increases
its power by gaining control over other areas of the world. Colonialism is the practice of acquiring
partial or full control over another country and exploiting it economically. Colonialism results in a set
of unequal relationships between the colonizers and the colonized. Colonialism is establishing
colonies while imperialism is conquering a country which is more forceful.

All fixed costs remain the same and dVider can match the production capacity of foreign suppliers
with minimal capital investment as the production of vinyl stickers is a labor intensive process
2. There would be a substantial increase in demand of vinyl stickers in the near future that could
absorb the available supply
3. The comparison excludes the most complicated designs (the hard segment) and focuses on the easy
and medium level of design difficulties that covers 75 %of the total sticker production
4. Tubing which is the final step in sticker production is assumed to be performed domestically hence
its related costs are not considered in the comparison as it will not be affected by whatever decision.
5. Quality would not be compromised due to the outsourcing decision
As depicted in the attached comparison worksheet, the bids received from two of the potential
domestic suppliers located in lower wage areas within the United States do not seem attractive in
terms of cost and they are not capable of supporting a potential increase in demand for dVider brand. I
believe outsourcing to supplier 3 located in Shanghai, China could provide better cost savings and
help the various growth opportunities the firm is aiming because of its lowest production unit cost
when ordered in 1000 quantities. With low production lead time, supplier 3 could have the capacity to
support an increase in the demand for dVider stickers in the

Women Of The Song Analysis
If scholars are correct in assessing ancient biblical Israel as patriarchal, then the seasoned woman of
the Song has mastered the art of depatriarchalizing her private world, and thus, in love she comes
without the baggage of this world. She s undaunted, risking misunderstanding and censure as she
pursues love. She is responsible, being accountable for her actions. She is protective, shielding her
lover and the love they share from the prying eyes of others. Though she lives in an imperfect cruel

Randomized Control Trial Summary
Peter Stalmans and associates143 conducted a randomized control trial. Its data support the finding
that intravitreal injection of ocriplasmin leads to resolution of vitreomacular traction, induction of
posterior vitreous detachment, and closure of a macular hole in some cases. The incidence of
vitrectomy was lower among the patients who received ocriplasmin than among those who received
placebo. A sham injection would have provided a better comparison with the natural history of the
disease process than that provided by the group of patients who received a placebo, which was chosen
to control for the effect of an intravitreal injection. The main visual symptom of vitreomacular traction

indicative of an additional biologic effect of enzymatic vitreolysis over placebo. The applicability of

Modern Masculinity And Its Impact On Modern Society
The majority of men are led to the believe that the ability to show weakness is regarded as the most un
male components; this means that vulnerability and openness which are absolutely important for self
exploration or personal development, are recognized as weak behaviors. After all, the modern men
still deal with relatively archaic messages related to the meaning of being a male or a man. For
instance, the society predicts men to be strong at all costs, to be stoic and unemotional, to be rescuers,
and, of course, to consider own work as a key priority (Vermunt). Thus, it is important to provide a
thorough investigation of the current ads in order to identify both positive and negative aspects in
terms of modern masculinity and define ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the majority of the recent Super Bowl s ads intend to continue the existing trend in terms
of the exaggerated humor as a specific mechanism implemented in order to deflect the relevant
criticism, despite the fact that they use an openly angry tone and illustrate a natural patriarchal order
on display. After all, images of masculinity that can do double duty with a great variety of consumers,
including both male and female, are not extremely difficult to create in a modern culture, especially if
to pay attention to the fact that the muscular male body has a long and glorious aesthetic history
(Bordo, 178). Hollywood and mainstream media have also began depicting, rather explicitly, male
genitalia often enlarged using padding and photoshop (Bordo, 168). This stands true especially for
advertisement campaigns for underwear. If you compare the pictures of the Calvin Klein underwear
advertisement, you can see how Photoshop is used to give the model seemingly larger genitalia than in
real life. Over years of seeing such advertisements and depictions, it can create a serious impact on the
males viewing such images as it may leave them feeling inadequate or not manly enough even though
such images have been under Photoshop to seem bigger. Such feelings can create real psychological
damage where men may feel that big genitalia constitutes as manly.

Genocide The United Nations Security Council Essay
Acts of genocide have occurred for centuries even though the term genocide did not appear until the
twentieth century. In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly passed a law that legally defined
genocide and ruled it as an illegal act. According to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment
of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) Article II the definition of genocide is any of the following acts
committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as
such:
● Killing members of the group;
● Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
● Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical
destruction in whole or in part;
● Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
● Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group (Chaulagain).
Even with this very clear definition of genocide the United Nations Security Council still proved
ineffective in preventing the genocide that occurred in Rwanda between the Hutu and Tutsi people.
There are a number of theories as to why the U.N. was so inefficient in preventing the genocide such
as : there was little political will to intervene from Western countries, the tragedy which had recently
occurred in Somalia, and the overlooking of early warning signs.
In this paper I will examine the United Nation Security Council attempts at intervention in Rwanda. I
will point out the interventions

The Total Rewards Program
Organization Overview
This paper will discuss the total rewards program. This company is a beverage and bottling company
that has been in business for over 100 years. Currently we operate in about 3 continents and in about
20 different countries all over the world. SZT Corp is the home to over 20,000 employees with about
2,000 management level employees worldwide.
Armstrong (2012) affirms that definitions of total rewards characteristically includes not only
traditional, quantifiable elements such as salary, variable pay and benefits but comprises also more
intangible non cash components such as gaining knowledge, ability to acquire and act or take
responsibility, progress in career, and the conducive environment provided by the organization. SZT
Corp requires a pretty complex and flexible total rewards program to meet the needs of their multi
national colleagues. The total rewards programs has to slightly vary for each country that SZT Corp
operates in and must cover compensation, benefits, performance and recognition, learning and
development, and a work life balance. SZT Corp has to maintain a total rewards program that remains
competitive with the competitors in the different nations all over the world.
Total Rewards Strategy
In order to meet the HR needs of this company, HR must accomplish the elements discussed in the
succeeding paragraphs that address the fundamentals of this type of total rewards system while
complying with the regulatory environments.

Making Schools Safer from Bullying
Have you ever been bullied or witnessed anyone suffering from any form of bullying? If the answer is
yes, then you should know the negative feeling that is created from it. The Youth Internet Safety
Survey, conducted by the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New
Hampshire, found that eight percent of the youth surveyed had experienced and reported some form of
harassment. An old familiar saying is that Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will
never hurt me , which is a lie! Simple bullying is defined as repeated verbal, physical, and social
behaviors that are hurtful to any individual or group of persons. It can include humiliation,
domination, intimidation and all forms of harassment not limited to: race, gender, disability, or sexual
orientation ( nsw.gov.au ). All forms of bullying have been proven to leave long term effects on the
victims. Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non victims,
according to studies by Yale University ( Bullying Statistics ). It is not just students that encourage the
bully who victimized, but the students who watch in silence hurt the victim as well. Bullying leads
back to the beginning of time, but in more recent years, it has become more publicly talked about.
Although, the government began to nationally address bullying and advanced training is being
provided to educators

Comparing Let Me Describe For You Her Eyes And Sonnet II
In the poems Let Me Describe for You Her Eyes by Glenn Colquhoun, and Sonnet XVIII by William

which can reflect on the world around us, and helped me learn about the how different relationships
can affect people, and the world around them. Though their ideas may differ, both writers used similar
techniques, such as the use of an extended metaphor. Similarly, both writers tone and structure
supported their own ideas of what was like for them in the relationship of which they are writing, and

An Analysis Of Claire Boucher s New Music

It s why this album feels so polished at times as a vocalist, Grimes is taking every opportunity to add
melody to the songs. In Flesh Without Blood , the triumphant lead single, her voice never rests,
dancing in the verses, fluttering in the pre chorus, and finally exploding: Now I don t care anymore /
uncontrollable. Kill V. Maim is another example of a song that would be quite boring without Boucher
s relentless experimentation with vocals: her ratty, filtered voice whines the verses, occasionally
lapsing into a grotesque scream. Every five seconds, she s changing her melody, her voice, and the
instruments around her, and it s all set to a very clearly defined chord progression, one that doesn t
have to be beautiful as long as it s catchy. The result is that Art Angels is a grower of an album at first
listen, one might only hear a single element of a song, but more and more of Boucher s lovely
experiments will leak out with more and more listens.
Truly, this album is much more eclectic than Visions, and Boucher pulls off each little genre
experiment fantastically, adapting the genres to her style. With its mantric vocals and stop and go
guitar riff, Artangels sounds like a Jagwar Ma track at first however, Boucher clogs this framework
with little sonic Easter eggs, keeping the beat interesting

The Importance Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle
Living healthy Living a healthy lifestyle is a crucial element in weight management. Learning and
implementing healthier alternatives can be used to combat the obesity epidemic as well as other
dangerous eating patterns. According to the National Institutes of Health about 68% of American
adults are overweight (Core Concepts 408). Over the past two decades, the prevalence of obesity has
doubled among adults in the United States, making it the second leading cause of preventable death
(Guzman 1). Binge eating, bulimia nervosa, and anorexia nervosa are also diseases that fall under
living a healthy lifestyle and is affecting 11 million Americans. Considering the risks of reducing life
expectancy, heart attacks, cancer, hypertension, arthritis and depression, it is a wonder why the rate is
growing instead of decreasing. Three important factors for adopting a healthy lifestyle are your eating
habits, physical exercise and emotions. The amount of eating habits is one of the most important
factors for weight management. Developing a diet or daily food choices that you enjoy and that help
maintain a healthy body composition (Core Concepts 421) is more effective in the long run because

The Goal Of The Journal
1. The goal of the journal is to explain several concepts, many being misunderstandings, of how dry
ice is formed, and to use experiments to explain the hypotheses. The author provides explanations to
scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the
author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also
explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he
says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material.
The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the
experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from
a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is
necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of
dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette.
Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is
then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0).
The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the
basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using

Ayn Rand uses the theme of collectivism and why it is evil throughout Anthem. Collectivism refers to

Group Mind
The Group Mind
People change to the atmosphere. If you are with a friend you can watch how this attitude changes
from when he is with you to when he is set in the group mind around other peers. You can also look at
yourself. Humans act on their natural instincts and if you look at yourself and how you act when you
are alone compared to how you act in the group mind setting, you will see that you almost dumb
yourself down to a level that you think will help you fit in with your friends. If we could just open our
eyes, we would see how repetitive and dumb we think inside of our group minds. When you are alone
you think about things that are natural to everybody, such as how to improve yourself. Your time alone
is the best medicine for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then when I was with my friends it completely changed into dirty, mindless jokes and wanting to do
things that I would never want my parents to know about. I noticed that no matter who I was around I
found it hard to just be myself and the fact that I have been unconsciously doing it all this time made
me think of what it would be like if I was just myself or different from what everybody thinks of me.
Unfortunately, I never could bring up the courage to be different, so I started to change some of the
little things that I did around my friends. I began to lose the interest of my friends and they didn t
invite me to as many things or call me to go hang out. Surprisingly, I was ok with it. Changing the
way that I acted with my friends made me realize that they were never really my friends. They just
accepted me because I wore cool clothes and talked about the stuff that was important to the group. I
know now that they are all just acquaintances that I have had some fun times with. As Doris Lessing
says in her essay, When we re in a group mind, we tend to think as that group does. It is the hardest
thing in the world to maintain an individual dissent opinion as a member of a group. The world is
filled with group minds, not only in people but in societies as well. If the majority of a society takes a
stance on a subject the rest that don t actually agree in their mind will unconsciously conform to the
group mind and agree. The group mind is very

Regional Hometown Race
NASCAR s newest events, Regional Hometown Races (RHR) have taken the large scale NASCAR
branding strategy and localized it through regional races and rivalries. These racing events are
sponsored by NASCAR and backed by the promotional strength of the brand name sponsors. These
Regional Hometown Races would regionalize the television broadcasts, begin co branding with
localized small businesses, and differentiate racing venues depending on the region. Television
broadcasts are fought over and highly respected in any community. National networks broadcast the
most major sporting events while the localized broadcasts may show the local minor league teams,
county fairs, and contests. Now, with Regional Hometown Races sponsored by NASCAR, the regional
broadcasts can take advantage of the co branding techniques of NASCAR to practically promote
themselves on the local station. The attraction of races on television paired with the realization that the

Dirt tracks litter the south and large race track venues sit idle when NASCAR is not in town. Races in
the RHR can be held on all tracks available in the region from the dirt tracks, to road courses, to large
venues. The differentiation of track length and styles help the circuit to determine the best overall race
teams, creating a line up of all star RHR racers. These racers can compete in a cross regional series of
racers to determine a grand champion for all Regions combined in the NASCAR RHR series. Overall,
the inclusion of regional broadcasts would promote NASCAR as a friendly company in all regions,
including those without a huge NASCAR presence. The addition of small business promotion and co
branding in expanded regional markets is advantageous for all participants. By including all types of
race tracks and regional cross over extending the RHR series, new talented drivers and teams can have
a chance to make it big in the more prominent NASCAR racing

The And Justice For All
With liberty and justice for all . These are the 6 words that conclude the pledge of allegiance of our
United States. This is what our nation was built upon: liberty and justice. Justice is the just behavior
(insert dictionary source here) or treatment that one may receive or give. To be just is to be fair and
righteous and this righteousness is the quality of being morally right (insert dictionary source here).
For someone to be shot in cold blood and the killer not have any consequence goes against all
morality. As an adult we have the cognitive ability to decipher between right and wrong or good and
bad behavior and know that if we violate these expectations we need to be held accountable for our
actions. Social Justice is fairness within a society. Fairness with in a society or community is making
sure everything is equal within that given society or community. Distribution of wealth is really
important. The top 10% of the community can t have more money than the bottom 90% combined.
There has to be fairness in opportunity that is provided within the community. If one given population
is allowed to partake in something or are given the opportunity to better their lives than all the other
given populations need to have that same fair opportunity as well. The same goes for privilege. It s not
fair when there are special rights and advantages given out that will help a particular group but
disadvantage another. Making sure there are equal social rights

Hatchet Gary Paulsen Quotes
In the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, a thirteen year old boy named Brian is flying in a plane to visit
his father, when the pilot has a heart attack and the plane crashes. Brian survives the crash and is
forced to live in the wilderness of the Canadian forest. Throughout this book, the author, Gary
Paulsen, shows time and time again that no matter how rough things get, never give up. He ripped at it
until it released... somehow he pulled himself out (29). This is an example from the beginning of the
story from when Brian crash landed in a lake and tore himself out. This quote supports my thesis and
does so by showing that Brian doesn t care what happens, he is going to survive what is thrown at
him. He it inside of a plane that is sinking

Cannabis Destroy Cancer Cells
How Cannabis Entirely Destroys Cancer Cells?
Cannabis is usually considered to be a harmful substance. There is a commonly shared opinion that
this plant has an addictive nature and that it is responsible for damaging both your mental and your
physical health, which is why it s illegal in most of the countries in the world. However, contrary to
popular belief, this plant has been used for medical purposes since ancient times. An active chemical
found in the cannabis, THC, is credited for its ability to relieve pain, to reduce anxiety, to prevent
vomiting and nausea and, to increase the appetite, which is why this plant is often linked with cancer
treatment. But, what is less commonly known is that THC can destroy cancer cells completely.
Researchers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christina Sanchez, a molecular biologist from Compultense University, explains that the cannabinoid
receptors and the endocannabinoids, along with the enzymes that produce them, create the
endocannabinoid system. According to Sanchez, this system is noted for its ability to regulate a
number of biological functions, including appetite, reproduction and many other processes that create
a healthy environment within the body, which is why the cannabis has an enormous therapeutic
potential.
Apart from the THC, the plant produces a compound called cannabidiol. This compound is of a great
significance because it doesn t have any psychoactive properties. Instead, it acts as an antioxidant that
kills cancer cells and that protects the brain from stress and damage. When this compound is
combined with THC, the ability to treat cancerous diseases is even more powerful.
Dr. Sanchez and her team worked on a project which aim was to prove that THC has a positive effect
in the cancer treatment. In the research, they treated astrocytoma cells with cannabinoids. What they
discovered was that THC, the main psychoactive component of cannabis, was killing the cancer cells.
After noticing the anticancer ability of THC to destroy cancerous cells, the team started to test this
compound in animal models of glioblastoma tumor. They noticed that the cancer cells died whenever
they were exposed to THC. Dr. Sanchez states that THC is more powerful than chemotherapy because
it kills only cancer cells

Mr Frank Gilbreth Essay
Mr. Frank Gilbreth, Sr. once said, There is no waste in the world that equals the waste from needless,
ill directed, and ineffective motions. As an efficiency expert, he often expected much from his
children. Many critics feel that it is unfair for parents to require so much from their children as the
Gilbreths did, but the Gilbreth dozen turned out to be exceptionally successful.
All the Gilbreth children graduated from college, but what did they do next? Anne married, raised 3
children, and was active in various community organizations. Unfortunately, Mary died at the age of
five from diphtheria. Ernestine married, raised two children, became a retail buyer, an author of more
than 5 books, and a lecturer. Martha married, raised four children, and became a homemaker who was
involved in numerous community services. Frank married, raised three children, and became naval
officer, a journalist, a newspaper editor, and an author of more than 12 books. William married, raised
two children, and became an engineer. Lillian married, raised two children, and participated in diverse
charity operations. Frederick (Fred) married, raised three children, and became an engineer. Daniel
(Dan) married, raised three children, and ran an import/export business. John (Jack) married, raised

Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet
Throughout Shakespearean works, love at first sight is a commonly used theme seen in many plays.
Specifically, in the play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters seem to experience the moment of
love at first sight. The concept, however, poses an issue in the fact the characters quickly become
obsessed with the person they are in love with. The characters quickly becoming so infatuated leads to
the idea of love being based on surface level beauty and one s physical attraction to another rather
than a deeper, more meaningful connection. In William Shakespeare s tragedy Romeo and Juliet true
love is portrayed as an infatuation based on pure attraction seen in Romeo s obsession with Rosaline
even though he barely spoke with her, Paris wish to marry Juliet despite never actually spending time
with her, and Romeo and Juliet s haste in moving forward in their relationship without knowing
anything about one another. Early in the play, Romeo is obsessed with Rosaline, a Capulet, even
though he does not know anything about her. Romeo tells his cousin Benvolio about his ... Show more

Romeo and Juliet are so infatuated with each other they proceed to kiss before even knowing each
other s names. When they first speak at the Capulet s party and kiss, Romeo says to Juliet, Then move
not while my prayer s effect I take / [he kisses her] / thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged
(1.5.117 118). Romeo says to Juliet from their kiss he is rid of any wrongdoing. They kiss and after
their encounter, Juliet asks the Nurse for Romeo s name. She commands, Go ask his name. (1.5.148).
The Nurse replies, His name is Romeo, and a Montague (1.5.50). The Nurse tells Juliet of Romeo s
name and his family after Juliet asks her to. Juliet finds out Romeo s name after the couple kiss. Just
by the physical attraction they had with each other, the young lovers kiss without knowing who the

  • 2. Indonesia s An International Market Essay 1 Indonesia contribution to international market Goods and services produced in a country and being sold outside is globally known as export (Mankiw, 2004:240). Suppose that a country do an International Trade and become an exporter of some goods, domestic producers will get more benefits, while local consumers will get loss because the local price is higher. However, government policy about the opening of international trade itself will be profitable for both concerned countries (Mankiw, 2006:221).For Indonesia, the activities of the export has been encouraged since 1983. In the same year, export was getting more attention in order to spur Indonesia economy growth. Indonesia slowly changes its strategy of industrialization, from the emphasis on import substitution industries to export promotion industries. Along with this new policy, the economy of Indonesia is getting better. It was proven in 2008 that the cumulative value of export reached USD 118,430million, in other words it increased by 26.92 percent, while for non oil and natural gas sector reached USD 92,260million or increased by 21.63 percent. The other sector, for instance agricultural, industry, and mining had also increased, each by 34.65 percent, 21.04 percent, and 21.57 percent compared to the previous year. For the goods that Indonesia exports, there are 10 types of which contributes 58.8 percent to the total of non oil and natural gas export. They are vegetable animal oil and fat, mineral fuels, machine or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The young participants and counsellors arrived at 460 Corbett Rd, Ngakuru from Rotorua. Groups starting around 10:00am with ice breakers, whakawhanaungatanga and introductions. The group was run by two Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) trained facilitators. Claire Cornwell, a mental health professional (occupational therapist) and Emma Baker, the equine specialist. Healthy snacks and water were available during the sessions. The day s activity was then explained to the group. Each day the activity required them to interact with the horses and make use of a wide range of resources available to them in the paddock. The participants were given opportunities to discuss their understanding of the life skills being taught and share their thoughts, ideas and problem solving strategies in order to complete the activity. Discussions about their experiential learning, both during and after the activity, allowed each participant to share their thoughts and feelings and how this related to the life skill they were focusing on. In order to encourage the participants to generalize the life skills they were learning in the paddock, they were encouraged to reflect on how they had used these skills in their interaction with others in their lives. Participant Feedback: During the initial session the participants were asked to form relationships with the horses. It became evident in discussions following this initial task that the participants were not able to describe what positive relationship skills might be. The participants explained that the horses were not used to us , they seemed like they are frightened , they re scary , maybe we are not doing something right and they don t trust us yet . The participants did identify that the horses do what we do, echo our behaviour and this enabled the metaphorical learning to begin. The conversation continued regarding ... • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Linocut Linocut A block made of linoleum Carving tools Paper fabrics Linocut is a form of relief printing in which the artist cuts a design into the surface of the block. Then a mirror image is created when the artist places a paper or fabric over the surface and presses down with a hand or a roller. The raised parts of the piece transfer over on to the paper or fabric to create the overall desired print. Linocut has both benefits and drawbacks as a form of printmaking. The major benefit of this form of art is that it is softer than wood making it easier to carve and use. Another benefit is that color can be added to the prints. However, there are several drawbacks of using linocut such as linoleum wears down more quickly under pressure, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The artist first coats the metal plate in an acid resistant substance known as ground and is drawn on. The artist then uses a sharp tool or etching needle down to the plate. Hard grounds are employed for finely detailed linear work. Soft ground can also be used, and virtually any tool can be used to expose the plate and resembles crayon and pencil drawings (Sayre, 2012). Whichever ground is used by the artist is then placed in an acid bath. The acid eats, or etches, into the plate where the lines have been drawn; the longer the exposed plate is left in the bath, and the stronger the solution, the greater the width and depth of the etched line (Sayre, 2012). An artist can also create a way in stopping out a section by using varnishes or ground over the etched surface. Once the plate is finished being exposed to acid, it is inked and printed. Etching has both benefits and drawbacks. Some of the benefits to etching are that it is a fluid and free process and it is able to capture the sense of immediacy as a sketch. However, some drawbacks to etching include it is a medium that requires calculations and planning, an ability to manipulate chemicals, and a willingness to risk losing everything in order to achieve the desired effect (Sayre, ... • 5. Essay on Singapore How might the Singapore society differ were it not for these technologies would the society be more or less heavily regulated? Lee recommends analysing politics and society by addressing how power struggles and relations were played out in the pre Internet era, namely the maintenance of political control via public support (2005: 74). Foucault defines governmentality as the point of contact where the technologies of power interact with the governed. This spurs Lee to postulate that, in order to retain power in the Internet era, governments need to be actively involved in shaping the design as well as the societal, cultural and regulatory environment in which the Internet and other new media technologies operate (2005: 75). One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are examples of society being shaped by government via technology, but Castells maintains that society shapes technology according to its needs and desires, not vice versa (2005: 3). However, Singapore is a society that has a history of being heavily influenced by government policy. As such, there is less resistance to technologically governed control, which supports the idea that the relationship between society and technology is a co constituted one. Singaporean society in the context of ICT is perhaps unique because it is different from other countries that readily adopted and promoted similar technologies. Ragnedda believes that new digitalized surveillance allowed a new form of social control that tries to direct and influence the behaviour of people , but the technologies themselves are merely tools (2011: 180). As Lee affirms, Singapore considered itself as having a legitimate right to influence and manage the citizenry (2005: 79). Therefore, it is little surprise the Singapore government has considerable surveillance capabilities and does not require a court warrant for monitoring (O Hara, 2008: 15). Lee asserts that the relatively low level of online public engagement in politics is a product of the PAP s intolerance for political dissent (2005: 78). In many respects, society itself has not changed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Summary Of Women In Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus Titus Andronicus is renowned for its bloodshed, the references to dead time and the night, foreshadow the great loss which saturates this play (2.3. 99). Shakespeare s use of diction, alliteration, and rhyme expose Tamora s tragic flaw which is venegeance, a catalyst that threatens her morality. Shakespeare examines the complexity of gender roles that obstruct female liberty. The endurance of a patriarchal society that promotes prudence over sexual expression. Thus, the metaphor of the wild woman demonstrates how this society can oppress one s sexuality and how human nature breaks down when vengeance is rampant. The construct of the wild woman develops through the symbolic connotations of nature and the forest. This imagery reflects how revenge perpetuates disorder within a society. For example, the line, A barren detested vale conveys a sense of emptiness (2.3. 93). Also, the contradicting snake imagery demonstrates Tamora s decent into evil. For example, The birds chant melody on every bush, the snake lies rolled in the cheerful sun in contrast to, A thousand fiends, a thousand hissing snakes (2.3 12,13 100). Earlier, the singing birds and sunbathing snakes illustrate the natural order within this environment. However, the hissing snakes disrupt any positive associations with nature, and her description of her surroundings exemplifies her changes in consciousness. Therefore, the tone of this text shifts when evil, i.e. vengeance invades society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Post World War II Size On Monday, 24 February 2014, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced massive cuts to the size of the armed services, slashing the army to its pre World War II size. (breithbart.com) Hagel s plan called for a 25% reduction in manpower by 2019. Historically, these cuts equate to a perceived failure of will power of the American government by its global enemies. Such cuts are sure to decrease the readiness posture of fighting units across the military. First order effects from cuts to funding equate to poorly maintained equipment, reduced personnel readiness, as well as fewer opportunities for professional military educational type schools. (breithbart.com) This unwillingness to fund defense led both Hitler and the Japanese to believe they could make war on the United States with any repercussion. After World War II, President Truman cited the end of the war to justify his defense cuts; however, the Korean War began, arguably, because of the large scale military cuts, which encouraged the Soviets and Chinese Communists toward aggression on the Korean peninsula. As a result, government officials increased the defense budget from $9.1 billion to just under $53. Immediately following the Vietnam conflict, congress once again began defunding the military. The end state of these specific cuts resulted in the United States pulling out of Saigon as communism dominated the country. Additionally, the Soviets later invaded Afghanistan compelled to do so possibly because of a perceived American distaste for foreign war. The election of Ronald Reagan was instrumental in the recovery of this mistake as he implemented large increases in military expenditures. Introduction Of Six Sigma As A Quality Program Introduction to Six Sigma Six Sigma is a quality program stressing the need for quantitative quality standards that focuses on improving the product for the customer, and that this in turn, will improve quality and reduce costs. Introduced by engineer Bill Smith at Motorola in 1986, Six Sigma is now widely used throughout the manufacturing industry. In statistics, sigma is the notation for the standard deviation, which is related to variation. The ultimate goal of Six Sigma is to reduce variation in a process in order to reduce defects caused by a process and defects seen by customers. Six Sigma projects are generally performed on teams so fully defining the problem and objective is vital to the success of the rest of the project. Once teams split up, if a problem is not fully defined, Six Sigma trained employees may move on to the measure step collecting information that does not solve the same problem. Six Sigma has a set of statistical tools that are used to analyze data. The next two steps in DMAIC are improve and control. After analyzing the statistics, it is time to improve the project. Controlling the project is the final step. It is not enough to implement an improvement change. The change must be monitored. In manufacturing plants, there can be a strong opposition to change when workers have been performing the same work for years. Whether it be fear of replacement or the thought that you are there to make their job more difficult, low level workers resist change. Controlling the improvement will keep the change in effect. Results may not be shown immediately. In fact, many Six Sigma implementations actually harm the company at first until the culture of continuous improvement disperses itself throughout all levels of the company. The last two steps in the DMADV process are design and verify. Designing a new process from scratch is more difficult than improving an existing process. • 10. Structural Functionalism, Conflict Theory And Symbolic... According to the crime report produced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2015, there were an estimated 1,197,704 violent crimes committed in the United States and violent crimes have increased by 3.9% since 2014. The FBI defines violent crime as murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. This increase in violent crimes is a major social issue and one that can lead to a sense of danger amongst a society and its inhabitants. According to a study conducted in 2017 by Statistic Brain, 38% of women feel unsafe to walk alone at night in the United States. This sense of fear is also why many college campuses, including Clemson University, have blue lights all around campus for the police to be called to at a moment s notice. Crime and deviant behavior are guaranteed to be a part of society and there will never be a time when crime isn t something a society has to deal with. Knowing that the issue is never going to completely go away, one can look at it through the three major theoretical perspectives of structural functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. The Real World: An Introduction to Sociology written by Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein defines structural functionalism as, A paradigm based on the assumption that society is a unified whole that functions because of the contributions of its separate structures. • 11. Managing Cash Flow Management ( Cfm ) Managing Cash Flow Cash Flow is composed of revenue or expense streams that change cash accounts over a specified period. The statement of cash flows showing the amount of cash generated and used by a company during the period is calculated by adding noncash charges (such as depreciation) to net income after taxes. Changes in cash are usually derived from one of three activities financing, operations or investing. Sales growth can conceal many problems. When managing a growing company, watch expenses carefully. If you see expenses growing faster than sales, examine costs carefully to find places to cut or control them. The lag between the time you have to pay your suppliers and employees and the time you collect from your customers can be a problem. The solution is cash flow management (CFM). CFM means delaying disbursements of cash as long as possible while requiring anyone who owes you money to pay it quickly. Rules (FASB) that govern the creation of financial statements are not about tracking the actual flow of cash through your business. They are focused on measuring profit or loss. Income does not tell you what happened to your cash balance during the period. It merely defines net income based on the accounting rules used to create the income statement. Only one component of understanding and managing your cash flow. They play an important role in society, providing the daily dose of caffeine to many. Interestingly, there is a grander role of coffee shops than simply coffee. While each coffee shop may have a unique touch, coffee shops, they overall provide a place for people to go individually or in a group, to either work or socialise, or both. High School students are a prime example of a community that could make good use of the environment coffee shops provide. A High School community could provide a different type of customers to coffee shops, not always buying drinks from the establishment, while friends will. Despite most High School students not being a part of society that earns steady cash flow, they still can show to provide important consumerism. Focusing on Oakmont High School students, I make use of participant observation as a means to understand the role coffee shops play in a community of High School students. Oakmont High School students have a growing coffee shop culture with the nearby coffee establishments, as students desire the ambiance that coffee shops provide, differing from their school environment while still providing a setting to both work on assignments or hold conversations with their friends. Hollywood and mainstream media have also began depicting, rather explicitly, male genitalia often enlarged using padding and photoshop (Bordo, 168). This stands true especially for advertisement campaigns for underwear. If you compare the pictures of the Calvin Klein underwear advertisement, you can see how Photoshop is used to give the model seemingly larger genitalia than in real life. Over years of seeing such advertisements and depictions, it can create a serious impact on the males viewing such images as it may leave them feeling inadequate or not manly enough even though such images have been under Photoshop to seem bigger. In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly passed a law that legally defined genocide and ruled it as an illegal act. According to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) Article II the definition of genocide is any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: ● Killing members of the group; ● Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; ● Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; ● Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; ● Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group (Chaulagain). Even with this very clear definition of genocide the United Nations Security Council still proved ineffective in preventing the genocide that occurred in Rwanda between the Hutu and Tutsi people. There are a number of theories as to why the U.N. was so inefficient in preventing the genocide such as : there was little political will to intervene from Western countries, the tragedy which had recently occurred in Somalia, and the overlooking of early warning signs. An Analysis Of Claire Boucher s New Music Since she started making music in 2010, Claire Boucher s Grimes project has made some of the oddest pop music imaginable, and since she started making music in 2010, the music has only increased in quality. From 2010â€Čs three lo fi, darker projects of Darkbloom, Halfaxa, and Geidi Primes, to 2012â€Čs ethereal Visions, to her recent singles, last year s trap influenced Go and this year s moody synthpop jam REALiTi (Demo) , Boucher seems to have been slowly moving towards a mainstream pop presence, if only on the periphery. Art Angels is the newest progression towards this goal, lying closest to the center it seems to be Boucher s least experimental record thus far, if only conceptually. This change has been met with varying degrees of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s why this album feels so polished at times as a vocalist, Grimes is taking every opportunity to add melody to the songs. In Flesh Without Blood , the triumphant lead single, her voice never rests, dancing in the verses, fluttering in the pre chorus, and finally exploding: Now I don t care anymore / uncontrollable. Kill V. Maim is another example of a song that would be quite boring without Boucher s relentless experimentation with vocals: her ratty, filtered voice whines the verses, occasionally lapsing into a grotesque scream. Every five seconds, she s changing her melody, her voice, and the instruments around her, and it s all set to a very clearly defined chord progression, one that doesn t have to be beautiful as long as it s catchy. The result is that Art Angels is a grower of an album at first listen, one might only hear a single element of a song, but more and more of Boucher s lovely experiments will leak out with more and more listens. Truly, this album is much more eclectic than Visions, and Boucher pulls off each little genre experiment fantastically, adapting the genres to her style. With its mantric vocals and stop and go guitar riff, Artangels sounds like a Jagwar Ma track at first however, Boucher clogs this framework with little sonic Easter eggs, keeping the beat interesting ... • 36. The Importance Of Living A Healthy Lifestyle Living healthy Living a healthy lifestyle is a crucial element in weight management. Learning and implementing healthier alternatives can be used to combat the obesity epidemic as well as other dangerous eating patterns. According to the National Institutes of Health about 68% of American adults are overweight (Core Concepts 408). Over the past two decades, the prevalence of obesity has doubled among adults in the United States, making it the second leading cause of preventable death (Guzman 1). Binge eating, bulimia nervosa, and anorexia nervosa are also diseases that fall under living a healthy lifestyle and is affecting 11 million Americans. Considering the risks of reducing life expectancy, heart attacks, cancer, hypertension, arthritis and depression, it is a wonder why the rate is growing instead of decreasing. Three important factors for adopting a healthy lifestyle are your eating habits, physical exercise and emotions. The amount of eating habits is one of the most important factors for weight management. Developing a diet or daily food choices that you enjoy and that help maintain a healthy body composition (Core Concepts 421) is more effective in the long run because you re more willing to stick to it using the principle of everything in moderation . • 37. The Goal Of The Journal 1. The goal of the journal is to explain several concepts, many being misunderstandings, of how dry ice is formed, and to use experiments to explain the hypotheses. The author provides explanations to scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material. The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette. Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0). The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Collectivism refers to the practice or principle of giving a group priority over each individual in it. The main character in her novel is Equality 7 2521, and she talks about how he despises the society s way of collectivism. I will be talking about the ways in which Ayn Rand uses Equality 7 2521 to show why collectivism is an evil thing, and what he tries to do when he wants to change the rule of his society. The collectivist society in which Equality 7 2521 lives within is similar to the Nazi and Communists states of the twentieth century. The leaders of this society do not permit individual thinking, but to be like a fragment in a group whose purpose is to serve its needs. Equality 7 2521 states, We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever. If you are with a friend you can watch how this attitude changes from when he is with you to when he is set in the group mind around other peers. You can also look at yourself. Humans act on their natural instincts and if you look at yourself and how you act when you are alone compared to how you act in the group mind setting, you will see that you almost dumb yourself down to a level that you think will help you fit in with your friends. Unfortunately, I never could bring up the courage to be different, so I started to change some of the little things that I did around my friends. I began to lose the interest of my friends and they didn t invite me to as many things or call me to go hang out. Surprisingly, I was ok with it. Changing the way that I acted with my friends made me realize that they were never really my friends. • 42. The And Justice For All With liberty and justice for all . These are the 6 words that conclude the pledge of allegiance of our United States. This is what our nation was built upon: liberty and justice. Justice is the just behavior (insert dictionary source here) or treatment that one may receive or give. To be just is to be fair and righteous and this righteousness is the quality of being morally right (insert dictionary source here). For someone to be shot in cold blood and the killer not have any consequence goes against all morality. As an adult we have the cognitive ability to decipher between right and wrong or good and bad behavior and know that if we violate these expectations we need to be held accountable for our actions. Social Justice is fairness within a society. Fairness with in a society or community is making sure everything is equal within that given society or community. Distribution of wealth is really important. The top 10% of the community can t have more money than the bottom 90% combined. There has to be fairness in opportunity that is provided within the community. If one given population is allowed to partake in something or are given the opportunity to better their lives than all the other given populations need to have that same fair opportunity as well. The same goes for privilege. It s not fair when there are special rights and advantages given out that will help a particular group but disadvantage another. There is a commonly shared opinion that this plant has an addictive nature and that it is responsible for damaging both your mental and your physical health, which is why it s illegal in most of the countries in the world. However, contrary to popular belief, this plant has been used for medical purposes since ancient times. An active chemical found in the cannabis, THC, is credited for its ability to relieve pain, to reduce anxiety, to prevent vomiting and nausea and, to increase the appetite, which is why this plant is often linked with cancer treatment. Christina Sanchez, a molecular biologist from Compultense University, explains that the cannabinoid receptors and the endocannabinoids, along with the enzymes that produce them, create the endocannabinoid system. According to Sanchez, this system is noted for its ability to regulate a number of biological functions, including appetite, reproduction and many other processes that create a healthy environment within the body, which is why the cannabis has an enormous therapeutic potential. Apart from the THC, the plant produces a compound called cannabidiol. This compound is of a great significance because it doesn t have any psychoactive properties. Instead, it acts as an antioxidant that kills cancer cells and that protects the brain from stress and damage. When this compound is combined with THC, the ability to treat cancerous diseases is even more powerful. Dr. Sanchez and her team worked on a project which aim was to prove that THC has a positive effect in the cancer treatment. In the research, they treated astrocytoma cells with cannabinoids. What they discovered was that THC, the main psychoactive component of cannabis, was killing the cancer cells. After noticing the anticancer ability of THC to destroy cancerous cells, the team started to test this compound in animal models of glioblastoma tumor. • 46. Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet Throughout Shakespearean works, love at first sight is a commonly used theme seen in many plays. Specifically, in the play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters seem to experience the moment of love at first sight. The concept, however, poses an issue in the fact the characters quickly become obsessed with the person they are in love with. The characters quickly becoming so infatuated leads to the idea of love being based on surface level beauty and one s physical attraction to another rather than a deeper, more meaningful connection. In William Shakespeare s tragedy Romeo and Juliet true love is portrayed as an infatuation based on pure attraction seen in Romeo s obsession with Rosaline even though he barely spoke with her, Paris wish to marry Juliet despite never actually spending time with her, and Romeo and Juliet s haste in moving forward in their relationship without knowing anything about one another.
