Frederick Fennell s The Eastman Wind Ensemble
Frederick Fennell founded the Eastman wind ensemble in 1952 and was an American concert band.
The wind ensemble focused on new music written specifically for the correct instrumentation, which
was one player per part, rather than orchestral transcriptions. To this day the Eastman wind ensemble
represents as the start of the concert band movement. Frederick Fennell did this by premiering
numerous pieces and touring in different venues. One of the reasons the wind ensemble became
successful was because of the first mercury recordings. Frederick Fennell sought out to standardize
wind ensemble music, for it to become a genre of music that can be held at the same rank. Fennell did
so by breaking the musical barrier, becoming higher musical art. ... Show more content on

For the Brass it was 3 cornets in Bb or five trumpets in Bb, two trumpets in Bb, four horns, three
trombones, two euphoniums, one Bb tuba, one BBb tuba or two BBb tubas if desired. Other
instruments include the percussion, harp, celesta, piano, organ, harpsichord, solo string instruments,
and choral force as desired. Frederick Fennell was very good at orchestrating his concert programs,
and he did so to feature every section of his ensemble. One third of the music featured the woodwinds,
one third featured the brass and one third featured the combination of the woodwinds, brass and
percussion. The Eastman s Wind Ensemble first concert was program that way and included the
pieces, Mozart s Serenade No. 10 in Bb, K.361; Riegger s Nonet for Brass, and Hindemith s
Symphony in Bb. Fennell s excellent programing works allowed for future influence of band directors,
and soon most of the repertoire performed by Eastman Wind Ensemble was performed by other
ensembles. After listening to the excellent mercury recordings of the Eastman Wind ensemble allowed
for the popularity of the works by Hindemith, Schoenberg, Stravinsky, Holst and Persichetti. Due to
the new popularity of these conductors and their music

The Nuclear Crisis Of Hiroshima And Hiroshima
Let us first consider each text s portrayal of the nuclear meltdown at Grafenrheinfeld. While both texts
draw parallels between nuclear accidents and nuclear warfare, Pausewang s emphasis on the latter
highlights a Cold War era fear of intentional nuclear annihilation. Consider, for example, how the
survivors of the Grafenrheinfeld disaster are publicly called Hibakusha, a direct reference to the
survivors of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This name, according to Natalie
Eppelsheimer, suggests...no difference between the dangers of civilian and military nuclear policy:
surviving victims of radiation of a nuclear disaster must live with the same consequences as the
surviving victims of an atomic bomb (23 my translation). Thus, both texts emphasise how civilian use
of nuclear technology carries many of the dangers of military use. But while Hage s text is content
with this association, Pausewang s proceeds still further: the refugees after the [Second World] War
were seen just as unfavourably [as Grafenrheinfeld s survivors], explains one Hibakusha to another,
[e]ven though they weren t radioactive (92). Here, Die Wolke explicitly equates the threats of nuclear
disaster and warfare, and indeed combines them into an implied threat of nuclear holocaust: after
Hiroshima, warfare is as potentially deadly as a nuclear disaster, and via Hitler or Chernobyl, each has
come to Germany in the last fifty years. Of course, Pausewang is not alone in drawing this

What Is The Conspiracy Of Roswell
The Conspiracy of Roswell Conspiracy theories are quite a talk among people. From UFO landings to
the questioning of our government and other governments around the world. One of the many popular
conspiracy theories that many talk about is the UFO incident of Roswell. To this day people embrace
the UFO theory, and still visit the crash site each year. The events of Roswell still leave numerous
questions unanswered; questions like: What exactly happened there? , What is Project Mogul? , and
Why did the public get so worked up over this? First things first, what happened at Roswell? For those
who don t know in the summer of 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico, a rancher, William Mac Brazel

African American Human Rights Violations
Human history has been plagued by violations of human rights on the premise of superiority and
entitlement. From the earliest cases 10,000 years ago between Kenyan hunter gatherer tribes in
Nataruk resulting in mass murder to more recent cases involving the Rohingya and Myanmar
nationalists edging towards genocide, the continuing difficulty to resolve human rights violations
highlights its relevance and importance. Despite the atrocities that have filled human history records,
human rights have seen progress in even the most early of civilizations dating back to 539 BC when
Cyrus, King of Persia, outlawed slavery and vouchsafed freedom of religion. Granted that human
rights progress and restitution has pushed farther ever since, David Frum, ... Show more content on

Based on his calculations, an estimated 1,000,000 African Americans would be excluded from this
payment, as it would be unethical to grant imprisoned men and women money from the taxes of rape
and murder victims. Simply put, the reparation programs would be exclusive to those who are slave
descendants and are not rich, middle class or imprisoned which leaves a small sector of African
Americans: the poor, impoverished individuals in mostly urban areas. By placing restrictions and
filters on who receives the payments, people who need the money will actually receive it. The
argument that the providers of the reparations will benefit rather than the beneficiaries is simply not
true, since the poorest of families will be able to improve their standard of living and ultimately better
their children s education and surroundings which will cause success in the long run. In addition, after
the Civil War, the US created a reparations plan that promised former slave families forty acres of
tillable land and a mule from the Union Army. Unfortunately, Andrew Johnson reversed this plan and
returned all the land to plantation owners which left these families stranded and helpless. This led to
decades of black vulnerability which locked them into poverty and

Franciscan Values Analysis
Out of all of Our Franciscan Values which include, reverence the unique dignity of each person,
encourage a trustful, prayerful community of learners, serve one another, society, and the Church,
foster peace and justice, and respect creation. Although it took me a good portion of the semester, I
believe that I fully recognize and understand the importance of these values as well as how they are
put into play every single day here at USF. The core/human values that I have put into action this
semester include serve one another, society, and the Church as well as reverence the unique dignity of
each person. While seem to correlate to each other as both can be carried out by someone at any given
time. Throughout my first semester here at USF, I believe that these two values are the easiest to be
put into play within our lives and fall hand in hand with one another. ... Show more content on

My time spent at Community Harvest included a Thursday and a Friday where my first day spent
there included packing bags full of food for senior citizens who would come to pick up their groceries
throughout the day. Furthermore, each bag contained the same groceries which made this task fairly
simple in comparison to my second day there. One my second day, I assisted those who were shopping
for their groceries. Furthermore, I filled out forms which indicated how many pounds of food each
person could take. My role was to keep track of 7 10 different shoppers at times while instructing
them to what items they could take and how many pounds of those items. Senior citizens as well as
those who are in an unfortunate situation benefitted from my actions due to the fact that I filled their

Jfk Assassination Conspiracy Theories Essay
Have you ever heard of an event that had more conspiracy theories than the JFK assassination? John
Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas at 12:30 on November 22, 1963. JFK was our
35th president of the United States, he was loved by many Americans and only some hated him, which
might have led to the Kennedy assassination. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, a U.S.
Marine American Sniper who secretly went to the Soviet Union for unknown reasons. The day of the
assassination was a huge uproar, it happened so fast that many Americans couldn t explain what they
saw, this created conspiracy theories. A conspiracy theory is a belief that an organization or individual
is responsible for an event. One can conclude that the JFK ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many witnesses of the shooting said they saw smoke coming from the grassy knoll, this caused
speculations that the shooter was located to the right of Kennedy, this could be argued why Kennedy s
head went back from the backlash of the bullet. People who tuned into the assassination believed that
there was a shooter from the Texas School Depository, then this came along and they all jumped from
one shooter to multiple shooters, this connects to the other conspiracy theory of multiple shooters.
Citizens who filmed the assassination released their film along with the Zapruder film, this was a huge
advantage for the government. The grassy knoll was a highlight of these films, people discovered a
silhouette that looked like a dog or a human, it was later called the Black Dog Man . People could
argue this thing was the shooter because throughout the film this thing showed suspicious activity.
Throughout the JFK assassination there were many speculations and conspiracy theories that
Americans discovered. This brought America together to find out who shot the president, it was a
huge mystery at the time and still is to this day. When the Zapruder film came out, the Warren report,
and more evidence, this started many conspiracy and arguments between the government and
Americans. Overall, one can conclude that the JFK assassination had the most conspiracy theories and

Rose Freedman was the last survivor of the fire and she went on to do amazing things. She was born
in a town near Vienna where her family ran a successful business (Kemp 1). When her family moved
to New York in 1909 they moved to a decent apartment but her father wasn t doing too well with his
business, so Rose became a worker at the factory. In interviews she said although she had tough
working conditions, the work was a exciting job. As a kid Rose was just your average girl, she had an
average job just like anybody else. But what happened on the horrid day would change her life
forever.
Rose described the day as any other day at the factory, she was finishing up her work at the job. Girls
around her were chatting about everyday topics. The girls were speaking lots of different languages so
she couldn t understand what they were all saying but she could understand most of it as she spoke
fluent Russian and English. All she could remember was a girl screaming out fire in Russian and

Chronic Neuropathic Pain After Spinal Cord Injury
Chronic Neuropathic Pain after Spinal Cord Injury: Spinal cord injury (SCI) affects up to 500,000
people every year around the world (Singh et al., 2014) with devastating physical, psychological and
social consequences. SCI not only damages motor systems, it also directly affects sensory systems,
causing chronic, debilitating neuropathic pain. The incidence of neuropathic pain after SCI is
extremely high, with at least half and up to 90% of SCI individuals experiencing neuropathic pain,
described as paroxysmal pain that can be continuous and may be evoked by any sensory stimulus, not
necessarily painful. Current pharmacological interventions offer minimal, transient relief to a minority
(30%) of sufferers of SCI induced neuropathic pain (Cousins, 2012). Current treatment strategies
utilize conventional drugs for chronic pain, which only address pain symptomatically and cannot
provide lasting relief or prevent relapse of symptoms, leading to drug dependency and further
reducing quality of life for SCI patients. Due to the myriad events that take place after SCI,
delineating the causes of neuropathic pain development is difficult. Neuropathic pain in general, and
more so in SCI, has an inherent degeneracy in mechanisms, which is likely why targeted
pharmacological treatment approaches often fail to provide significant relief.
Chronic neuropathic pain after SCI is a central pain syndrome, by definition arising directly due to
damage to or dysfunction of the CNS. While SCIs are

How To Write An Essay On Puerto Rico
This week with it being cold here in Omaha, I thought of a warm place in the Caribbean. It has crystal
blue waters, white sand beaches, great attractions, impressive scenery, nightlife, gambling, fishing,
cultural experiences, friendly locals, golf and hiking. I discovered you could find affordable top
ranked vacations in the Caribbean. Some of the hot spots there are Jamaica, U.S Virgin Islands,
Barbados, Puerto Rico, Dominica, and Punta Cana. I am going to talk about Puerto Rico since it seems
like an amazing vacation for travelers.
I found one of the best things to do in Puerto Rico are the caves one is called Parque de las Cavernas

main goal, helping students to succeed, can be carried out throughout different departments to make
sure that the strategy, vision and mission is carried out. The Art Institute of California Sacramento s
workforce is very diverse. Many different ethnicities, cultures, and demographics represent the
campus at every level. The ratio of men to women staff and faculty is also pretty even. The student
population is also very diverse. The diversity is the same as the workforce but the student population
also has a socioeconomic diversity since some student come from lower income families and some
from higher income. The student body is also compromised of more men then women. This could be
due to the types of programs that the Art Institute of California Sacramento offers. One of the biggest
advantages that The Art Institute of California Sacramento has is that is a very technology driven
campus. Many of the programs offered rely heavily on technology. Due to this, the technology at the
campus is constantly getting upgrade to be able to provide students with the best hardware and

The Pursuit Of Happyness By Chris Gardner
The Pursuit of Happyness In society there are still differences in classes such as higher class, middle
class, and lower class. In sociology, we observed a film called The Pursuit Happyness, where we
witnessed the struggles a father went through to succeed. Chris Gardner, who was played by Will
Smith, is living in his apartment with his wife and his son. Due to their struggles, the mother walks out
on and leaves Chris struggling alone with his son. In the film Chris Gardner applies for an unpaid
internship for a competitive stockbroker company where out of twenty men, only one gets the job.
While he is on his internship, we see the hardships of getting kicked out of his apartment to staying at
a shelter home to then sleeping in a subway bathroom with his son. Viewing the movie through a
sociological lens, The Pursuit of Happyness will be analyzed according to the major three sociological
paradigms: structural functionalism, social conflict theory, and symbolic interactionalism. As the
movie begins, a structural functionalist would identify the social institutions involved. One of the first
institutions introduced is family. The spouse of Chris Gardner is not satisfied with the amount of
income coming he is earning. It is clear that the institution of family is not meeting the needs of
happiness and financial stability because of the low income. The institution of family interrelates with
many others, such as the education institution and especially economic institution.

Eve Harrington Compare And Contrast
I can say with certainty that the film adaptation did a much better job at presenting the tale of Eve
Harrington than the original short story did, primarily because the movie allowed me to feel for the
characters. In the short story, I didn t get to see what happened, but rather Margola telling what
happened. Unlike the film, there are no flashbacks to the story itself, so I wasn t really able to actually
visualize it. Most of the short story is just Margola talking to Karen inside the car, so in a sense, it s
neither telling nor showing. It s showing telling, and that isn t very entertaining to see or imagine.
Additionally, because the events surrounding Eve had already happened, I was also unable to witness
how they affected Margola. The

Florida’s Literacy Problem Essay
Florida s Literacy Problem
Despite numerous literacy promoting programs all over the state of Florida, literacy still remains a
problem for this state. People just don t seem to want to waste their precious free time staring at words
on a piece of paper, but would rather stare at moving pictures on a screen. Obviously this is a problem,
as Florida s FCAT scores are less then perfect when compared to the scores of the rest of the nation.
Something needs to be done to get Florida reading.
It may be unfair to attribute all of Florida s reading problems to television. Not everyone in Florida
has cable or even owns a TV. Many poor children have no permanent home and therefore do not have
the necessary conditions to learn to read as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third grade is the last year of education that students are taught to read. In 2002, forty two percent to
third graders in Polk County failed the reading portion of the FCAT. This very clearly shows that most
of Florida s, or at least Polk County s reading problems begin in elementary school. The blame for this
can go to schools that have sub par reading programs. It can alternatively be attributed to parents who
don t take the time to read with their children or hire tutors to help them when they need it. Most
likely both are at blame, but only the schools seem to be putting forth an effort for changes. Florida s
parents need to understand that they are very capable of teaching their children to read.
Summer reading programs can help students struggling with literacy tremendously. When students
read over the summer they keep their reading skills sharp instead of having to relearn them as soon as
school starts again in the fall, which can be a big hindrance on their studies. The summer is also prime
time for parents to hire tutors when their services are needed. Some teenagers will even tutor for free
in the interest of obtaining service hours for scholarships. Parents should also make time over the
summer to help their children themselves if they are having problems with reading. Having the
support of parents can make all the difference in a child s motivation to learn.

Land Law 19th Century
The land and business interests in Western New York were highly connected to the politics of
infrastructure. Land and Business interests lobbied the state government for the creation of canals and
railroads, due to their tendency to increase trade and the value of land in the surrounding area. For
instance, the agricultural developer and politician, Asahel Cole, of Friendship, lobbied for the
construction of the Genesee Railway and was appointed by the state legislature to manage the project.
By the time of the 1840 s the Whig Party managed to establish significant support among voters in the

Competing Compromising, Avoiding, And Accommodating
The five conflict styles would include: competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and
accommodating (Griffith Dunham, 2015, p.57). Competing occurs when there are not many resources.
This approach is considered a win lose ; A person may choose this approach on his own without
cooperating with anyone else (J.D., 2011).
Collaborative conflict is when you team up with someone else to achieve each other s goals (J.D.,
2011). By using this conflict you can end up with a win win situation. This conflict requires a lot of
trust among everyone involved (J.D., 2011).
Compromising conflict no one wins from this conflict it is considered a lose lose situation (J.D.,

The Financial Performance Of Tesco Plc
In this report I will be analysing and evaluating the financial performance of Tesco PLC over the past
5 years (2010 to 2014).
Background Company Information
Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen, he originally started up his business as a market stall
selling surplus groceries in the East End of London. The company is now not only a grocery store but
also a general merchandise retailer, selling clothes, furniture, electrical items and wide range of other
products and services including Tesco Bank, Tesco Mobile, and Blinkbox video on demand service.
Tesco currently operates in 12 countries around the world, employ over 500,000 people and serve tens
of millions of customers every week both in store and online.
Tesco became a private limited company in 1932 and in 1947 Tesco Stores (Holdings) PLC floated on
the stock exchange with a share price of 25p per share. Tesco were interested in what their customers
buying habits were in order to try and evolve their company so they decided to closely watch
customers behaviour and this led to the introduction of the Clubcard scheme in 1995 and a banking
service in 1997. This allowed them to collect customer data and personalise their discounts in
response to what they bought and this made them the UK s top supermarket. Aggressive negotiation
with suppliers helped them grow their market share from a mere 7% in 1971 to 31% in 2007 making

The Power Of Power In My Last Duchess By Robert Browning
In several countries tyrants abuse their power for their own benefit. Many people must obey these
cruel rulers or be punished if they disobey. People must live in fear because of these tyrants, who use
their power for their own satisfaction. In My Last Duchess the Duke of Ferrara uses his power to
control his subjects, and kills his wife because of the way she acts around other men. From beginning
to end My Last Duchess by Robert Browning displays the corrupt power of the domestic tyrant, his
arrogance, jealousy, and the ruthlessness.
To begin, the Duke is displayed to be a corrupt leader. His tyrannical ways and ideas of solving
problems in his life are preposterous. The Duke is enraged that his wife shows flirtatious expressions
to other men that show kindness towards her. The Duchess is killed because the Duke becomes
frustrated with her actions This grew; I gave commands; Then all smiles stopped together (Browning
line 45 46). This portrays the Duke s tyrannical ways, he demands her to stop, but she ignores him,
therefore the Duke decides to kill his wife. According to Robert Reese, The Duchess smiles to the
other men aroused an anger in the Duke so powerful that he gave commands to have her killed . The
Duke of Ferrara considers himself superior to others and above laws and morality. He feels he can do
anything he desires without serving any sort of punishment. The Duke does indeed have an enormous

Carp Maggots Research Paper
Winter Carp Baits
Carp Baits in Winter
Well it doesn t seem five minutes since I last penned an article for carp.com bathed in the warm
autumn sun, yet here I am sat on a cold winter s night underneath my Nash Viper Bivvy with a bright
moonlit sky above me.
With thousands of stars apparent to even my poor eyesight, I can tell site its going to be a cold one and
considering I am the only one here it looks like most anglers have already given up this year. To be
honest that s plain daft as although you won t catch as many carp in the winter as you do in summer
they are catch able all year round. Look at the likes of Dave Lane, Ian Chillcott and Jim Shelley; even
on the hardest understocked waters they can winkle em out and so can you. ... Show more content on

Maggots have a huge advantage over boilies and the like they move!! That little bit of movement
seems to inspire the carp into having a go. You can simply hook them onto a hook as you d do with
any bait or as I do you can thread them onto a piece of fine line and hair rig them on. This keeps them
very lively and allows you to have anything from six to sixty maggots at once. Tie the line to the hook
and away you go. If you have water filled of nuisance fish you may need to regularly recast. I tend to
fish a bunch of live maggots over sine scalding dead maggots and it works a treat. Don t be tempted to
put maggots in your mouth to warm them up before use a hook bait. Firstly it s a fail habit and
secondly the shock of the maggots going from the warm mouth to a cold lake will stop their
movement full stop.... Don t fall for that old wives tail.
Sweet corn it s very visual, has great attraction qualities and carp love it in cold. It s much better than
Maize and you can either hook it on or use it on a hair rig. I tend to use mine neat out of the cans but
soak in Nutabaits Sweet Cajouser favour is a definite winner. When fishing it try using it over
liquidised sweet corn. Lots of attraction but the only piece they can find to eat has a hook in it; deadly!
Worms as with maggots that bit of life can annoy or excite carp into having a go . Always use them on
the hook as a worm on a hair will tie it in knots and have you pulling your hair out. A brilliant stalking
bait especially when you can see the fish you are

Accounting Is All About The Way In Which Corporations Record
Accounting is all about the way in which corporations record their revenues and assets over a certain
period of time. Although the notion may exist that accounting is merely a recording function, this is
not entirely true. Rather, accountants also analyze the cost structure of certain transactions and play a
strong role in the strategy formulation of mergers acquisitions, for example. Other responsibilities of
accountants include such activities as managing information systems, tracking financial performance,
and assessing tax strategies. Accounting is an exciting career path that affords various opportunities in
terms of career direction. One can enter the field of auditing, progress into taxation, or transition into

The level of skill required to practice accounting is dependent on the specific position. Generally
speaking, however, most positions will require the ability to analyze information and synthesize it.
Accountants must be able to defend their position with logical reasoning, and use their communication
skills to exhibit fluency in their ability to discern between quality and faulty financial statements.
When one begins a career in accounting, he or she can expect a culture based on teamwork. The path
begins from the position of a junior member. This member must be able to function as an independent
thinker, as many analyses performed will be at the discretion of his or her manager. Furthermore, the
junior member must be able to handle the auditing function and prepare financial statements. If he or
she possesses these traits, the junior member can expect a bright career. Recently, growth in
accounting has increased the number of job openings in the field. This is supported by bureau of labor
statistics which demonstrate the growth. Although the competitiveness has also been enhanced, if a
person comes into accounting with the right skills and business education, then he or she is positioned
for a career of personal and professional development. Some of the top firms include KPMG, Ernst
and Young, Deloitte and Touche, Price WarterhouseCoopers, Grant Thornton, BDO Seidman, and

The National Rifle Association (NRA) Essay
The National Rifle Association (NRA) As George Stephanopoulos, a former Clinton spokesman once

They write. They vote. They contribute. And they get what they want over time.(qtd. in nra.org) The
NRA is indeed all of these things, with programs to benefit a variety of Americans, sponsorship of one

Semi-Detached Housing Changes
In Britain there has historically always been a belief that the ideal living situation is a married
heterosexual couple with children. In this lifestyle model the male of the house is the wage earner and
the woman holds responsibility for domestic chores and rising children. This model is particular
apparent in the working classes during the early 20th century. In the years following the Second World
War housing was designed and master planned in a way that embodied these ideologies. These
generalisations structured ideas about the location of new post war housing laying the way for married
women to be exploited in the low pay labour market. However rapid social change following the war
resulted in greater number of women being drawn into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These houses were amalgamation of retained social expectations of housework but also more
progressive architectural ideas. The period saw great change thanks in part to the influence of the
Garden City Movements and Raymond Unwin. Unwin semis featured additional living space on the
ground floor, running hot water, internalised kitchen and bathing facilities. The extra living space on
the ground floor provided an area for families to engage with everyday life and again a parlour in the
front of the house to entertain with. The changed position of the kitchen to inside the house really
demonstrates the change of gender perspective during this time, it lessened the separation of house
tasks by bringing them closer to the family. The provision of hot running water, electricity and internal
washrooms helped ease some of the labour of housework, beginning to liberate the housewife. It was
however still expected that she would prepare and serve all foods. Therefor the housewife found
herself in a funny situation of being both privileged with modern conveniences but still bound to being

people raising their eyebrows. People were wanting a phone that had a longer battery life. It would
also be nice to be waterproof and shatter proof. People tend to get tired of a product after a year or so

Judaism And The Temple Of Judaism Essay
Have you ever noticed that when people talk of Jews, at least in a protestant church, that the Israelite
legalism, rituals, dress and hair standards are the first things to mind? The topic of Judaism may come
with stereotypical opinions and Christian Judgement that are without merit or understanding. Judaism,
by a Christian worldview, had to change after Pentecost, since the animal sacrifice to atone for sin
Christ completed on the Cross. However, Judaism does not accept this truth of Christ and His work on
the cross, but Judaism remains in the world. So, what was this change in Judaism and when did it take
place? There have been numerous fluctuations within Judaism, only the theme constructed in this
essay has its foundations around the most important facet of Judaism the Temple. With the Temple in
the forefront of this essay, we will discuss the modifications that Judaism went through, at what time,
different perspectives that the destruction of the Temple had, and how the Christian sect views these
vagaries. The Temple destruction of A.D. 70 converted the Jewish faith in its singular fashion, while,
at the same point, the Jewish faith never had a total change by always changing throughout time.
Before we can totally dive into how the Temple destruction changed Judaism, we must gain some
knowledge of the Jewish faith itself, as well as Jewish terms. One of the first ideas many people may
discover about the term Jew is its lack of use in the Old Testament scriptures.

Argument Essay On Texting While Driving
Texting while driving is a controversial subject. The vast majority of people feel that texting while
driving should be illegal. Most people also feel that legal actions need to take place to stop this
behavior. However, I m part of the small majority that disagrees with the main point of view. I believe
that texting while driving shouldn t be illegal and that states that have made it illegal need to repeal
those laws. Texting while driving isn t the true problem. The true problem is that people get distracted
easily. So I believe that making texting while driving illegal doesn t even solve the problem. Another
reason why it shouldn t be illegal is that people don t follow laws as it is, and this can cause even more
problems. Texting while driving should be the driver s choice, not the government s choice. While
those who think that the law that bans texting while driving will solve the problem, I believe that it
will only worsen the problem. The people who choose to follow the law most likely don t care about
texting and driving. So they probably wouldn t text and drive even if it isn t a law. However, those
who are addicted to texting and driving will not stop just because a law is passed. In past events where
similar situations have occurred, it has only backfired on our government and society. This situation I
m talking about is making certain drugs illegal. The government made drugs illegal believing it was
going to help solve the crime rate, solve social problems, health, and hygiene. This clearly did not go
as planned. It ended up creating gangs, private selling of different types of drugs, and crime rates
increasing. I do agree that texting and driving is dangerous. However, I believe that texting and
driving laws make the problem worse. People who still text and drive have to hide their phones lower
on their laps than they normally would because it is illegal to text and drive. Since they have to put
their phones lower on their lap, their reaction time increases. In some cases passing a law solves the
problem, but in other cases , like texting while driving and making certain drugs illegal, the problem
can possibly become worse. The reason why texting and driving is so dangerous isn t because of

Hipaa Compliance And Technology Use Essay
HIPAA compliance and technology use: In 1996 when Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA) was enacted HIPAA compliance and the use of technology was not given that much
importance as it is today. Only small percentage of people owned mobile phones twenty years ago
which didn t have a lot of capabilities of communicating except the basic text messaging. Twenty
years later the mobile device technology is much advanced and has much more capabilities and much
faster than imagined. Advanced capabilities include messaging, internet access, e mails and ability to
take pictures and be able to send using the mobile device.
The problems with medical organizations staying HIPAA compliant with modern technology: The
faster and more functional mobile devices with Multi capabilities raised concerns regarding the use of
the technology and HIPAA compliance. Concerns relating to patients privacy and ePHI(electronically
protected health information) security. Due to these concerns regulations within HIPAA were enacted
in 2013 to address these concerns.
Legislation related to use of technology to comply with HIPAA requires insurance companies, health
care providers, employers insurance, to implement administrative, physical and technical safeguards
for protecting the confidentiality of patients information which prevents a breach of ePHI. If a breach
of ePHI occurs, Healthcare providers, employers, third party service providers and insurance
companies are liable for

Auto Industry in Canada
To fully understand why Canada is one the wealthiest nations in the world, we need to pay particular
attention to Canada s economic history. The economic history of our country has been marked by
many important events that have paved the way for a successful economic future. A brief economic
history of Canada would pay particular attention to important events such as the economic boom of
the 1920s, the dark times of the 1930s; the Second World War during the 1940s and to also not forget
the important trade agreements such as the auto pact and the NAFTA. Despite the above mentioned
important events, Canadian economy has also been greatly influenced by its own economic sectors.

The increase in employment contributed to an increase in the lifestyles of Canadians. Also government
revenues increased with the expansion of the automobile industry. They had to find a way to maintain
the roads therefore licensing and gas fees were introduced. The automakers did not only increase the
lifestyle of the people in the southern provinces but they had a big impact on the western provinces
also. Agriculture was one of the many industrial sectors that benefited from the automakers. With cars
being built it was now easier for the farmers to sell their products in the market. They now had a more
comfortable way to travel and this made their jobs easier. Also the introduction of the farm tractors
was a big help in the agriculture industry. The farm tractors increased crop quantities and livestock
volume. The tractor was a great invention as it was more efficient and less time consuming.
One of the negative impacts of the automobile industry in Canada is that of the regional economic
imbalances between the provinces. With the manufacturing being heavily concentrated in Ontario, the
other provinces of Canada do not get the same economic output as Ontario does. Ontario is considered
by far the wealthiest province. The province generates almost 50 percent of Canada s GDP which
translates into a staggering 675 billion dollars. Many

The City Of A Mid Size City
The crosswalk in this city is typical of a mid size city. Small businesses line the busy street, and with
people eager to get to their destination, a combination of sights, sounds and smells unites to form this
crosswalk.
This city s intersection is lively with the commonplace sights of businesses, people and vehicles. On a
sunny and breezy afternoon, three Eastern and Western based businesses, on the far left, line up one
after another vying for attention from potential patrons. In the middle, the sidewalk is filled with an
array of people. At the forefront of the sidewalk there are three people that are on the edge of the
crosswalk. To the left, a medium build, middle aged white female with long black hair is about to
cross the crosswalk. She is wearing black shoes, a black dress and a white short sleeved blouse. Some
people would refer to this as business casual. Around her neck is a lanyard that appears to be carrying
an identification badge. She is holding a rolled up, brown lunch bag in her left hand. While on her cell
phone, she walks forward and looks downward as to shield her eyes. During her walk, her hair is
grazed by the wind. In the middle of the sidewalk, a thin, elderly white man with a gray beard man is
the focal point of the picture. He is wearing a brown fedora, thin framed eyeglasses along with a
brown coat, gray pants and black dress shoes. His eyes are gazing forward as if he just locked eyes
with someone from afar. Coincidentally, his body

Guy Vanderhaeghe s The Last Crossing
Guy Vanderhaeghe s The Last Crossing is a Western of subtly crossed borders. Vanderhaeghe elicits a
sense of blurred lines between opposites, giving the illusion that boundaries are not so statically fixed.
The historical figure Jerry Potts illustrates that the division between Indigenous and white is not so
easily distinguished by ways of appearances, languages, and relations. The lines of health and illness
intertwine as the reader follows Addington s syphilis, Custis mystery ailment, and the Indigenous
peoples struggle with smallpox. Justice, punishment, and the law become subjective in the novel with
regards to Madge s death, Addington s military massacre, and Indigenous resistance against unfair
treatment. Distinctions between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His abilities with languages lead to his [making] a living as an interpreter and guide (105). In The Last
Crossing Potts is used as a guide primarily, but his gift with languages bridges the gap between whites
and Indigenous, as he is able to speak English to the Gaunt brothers. Without the understanding of
language, the relationship between the Metis man and the English brothers would never have been
established. PROOF COMMENT
Names create an identity, and Vanderhaeghe uses this convention to further confuse the division
between Indigenous and white. Jerry Potts is also referred to as Ky yo kosi and Bear Child throughout
the novel, mirroring his own inner conflict of being unsure of what he really is. He wants to be a
Blackfoot, a Real Person (Vanderhaeghe 106) but he is most commonly called by his white name,
reminding the reader of his positions on both sides. Another instance for confusion is when a Metis
brother is referred to with his white and Indigenous name together in a sentence. Unborn

Health and illness do not have concrete characteristics in The Last Crossing. Addington s battle
against syphilis, Custis near fatal ailment, and the Indigenouss constant fight with smallpox show that
appearances are deceiving. Addington is battling with syphilis throughout the book and his health
fluctuates between well and unwell. Addington s health picks up from being liverish and out of sorts,

The Hall of Human Origins tells the story of human evolution in a permanent exhibition space

benefits of seeing the various gallery in person is nonpareil. I learnt a lot about the evolution of
humans as a specie. The faces of the various Homos and the connection I felt with them makes the
experience worthwhile. Most importantly the exhibits makes me understand more about the evolution
of the Hominids (the earliest humanlike creatures).

Garden City And Garden City
Introduction
In late 19th, because of a dramatic increase of population, increasing urbanization and
industrialization, cities had been overcrowded and the environment was being destroyed as well.
Furthermore, more and more people moved to the urban cities from rural area for having more job
opportunities. Consequently, cities were over centralizing. It is contributed to the slums in city which
is the cause of disease breaking out. It leads to the decrease of human s life quality in urban cities.
Moudon (1997) points out that control by the private sector, unhealthy rapid economic growth,

These cities would have adequate space of residential habitation, industrial work and agricultural
production. In order to shift people who moving to the urban cites to the suburbs, a concept of garden
city setting was coming out by Ebenezer Howard. His idea was inspired by the utopian wave which
existed from mid and the close of 19th century. Howard (1902) idealized that in garden city, a 6,000
acre site would have 32,000 people living in. Furthermore, there was a sustaining potential which is
the limit of the population density in garden city plan, so they would build a new garden city nearby
when another city has reached the limit. In Howard s book, there is a central city surrounded by lots of
garden cities which could afford 50,000 people. Roads and rail is the way linking those garden cities.
The aim of garden city planning is to create a beautiful, sociable and healthy communities with both a
good natural environment and high quality of housing affordability. A combination of the active and
energetic city lifestyle with the delight and the beauty of the countryside was the way to achieve it.
Moreover, in order to well organize the garden city movement, a concept of town, country, and town
country magnets was published in Howard s book. According to Howard (1902), different magnets
have different characteristics. Town magnet with refers to urban city is presenting high

College Is A Waste Of Time Essay
Dale Stephens, founder of Uncollege, a social movement supporting self directed higher education,
has a very strong belief that college is a waste of time. In his opinion piece for CNN appropriately title
College is a waste of time , Stephens shows the downsides of going to college such as the cost of it,
the consequences of failing, and how it does not prepare you for the real world. The Wabash National
study held a survey asking college students and graduates what they came away with out of college.
With all the data they captured, the study concluded that the majority of the groups tested believe the
only things they learned from school were life lessons. The fact of the matter is, although you learn
life lessons throughout your experience in college, ultimately it is a waste of time because it does not
help you much academically.
Sixty two percent of students tested from the survey believed they have moderate to high growth in
moral reasoning. This is a no brainer, seeing that it is a common knowledge that you would pick up by
just going through your life and having form experience. Only twenty one percent of the students said
they have made a contribution to science in college. For something that people go to college for, to
learn and contribute to their specific fields of interest, this number is baffling. Out of 17,000, more
than three fourths of the students believed they have no growth or decline in contribution to the
sciences, coming in close second is

instrumental in recruiting some of the nation s top surgeons to the region. It started as a same day

Beethoven Beethoven Homogeneity
Compression, homogeneity (1809 10) Sonata in F Sharp Major, op. 78 (1809) is challenging
performers with the fragmented short motivic ideas which is eventually the characteristic of
Beethoven s last sonatas. One other interesting factor making this sonata unique is its intro measures.
It is only four measure long, but it is not appropriate to be called introduction because of its
completeness which never happened in the eighteenth century introduction. Rather it is better to be
considered as a (fragment of an) independent movement despite of the short length. Sonata in G
Major, op.79 (1809) is a relatively easy with full of humor and romantic character. Sonata in E flat
Major, op. 81a (1809 10) is the only program sonata by Beethoven for the reason he gave titles to each
movement.
Summation, transcendence (1814 27) The final years, especially from 1812 to 1817, were difficult for
Beethoven. He had the lawsuit over his nephew s custody and suffered from deafness and Immortal
Beloved. Especially the letter of Immortal Beloved and an attempt to starve himself are the biggest
event between 1809 to 1814 when he restrained himself from writing a piano sonata. E minor op. 90 is
important for its role as a turning point for Beethoven. This sonata is one that Beethoven wrote for the
first time after the five year of struggling, and form this point, his composition took completely new
direction. Fugue and variations, are the new musical types Beethoven employed for his late

  • 2. Frederick Fennell s The Eastman Wind Ensemble Frederick Fennell founded the Eastman wind ensemble in 1952 and was an American concert band. The wind ensemble focused on new music written specifically for the correct instrumentation, which was one player per part, rather than orchestral transcriptions. To this day the Eastman wind ensemble represents as the start of the concert band movement. Frederick Fennell did this by premiering numerous pieces and touring in different venues. One of the reasons the wind ensemble became successful was because of the first mercury recordings. Frederick Fennell sought out to standardize wind ensemble music, for it to become a genre of music that can be held at the same rank. Fennell did so by breaking the musical barrier, becoming higher musical art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the Brass it was 3 cornets in Bb or five trumpets in Bb, two trumpets in Bb, four horns, three trombones, two euphoniums, one Bb tuba, one BBb tuba or two BBb tubas if desired. Other instruments include the percussion, harp, celesta, piano, organ, harpsichord, solo string instruments, and choral force as desired. Frederick Fennell was very good at orchestrating his concert programs, and he did so to feature every section of his ensemble. One third of the music featured the woodwinds, one third featured the brass and one third featured the combination of the woodwinds, brass and percussion. The Eastman s Wind Ensemble first concert was program that way and included the pieces, Mozart s Serenade No. 10 in Bb, K.361; Riegger s Nonet for Brass, and Hindemith s Symphony in Bb. Fennell s excellent programing works allowed for future influence of band directors, and soon most of the repertoire performed by Eastman Wind Ensemble was performed by other ensembles. After listening to the excellent mercury recordings of the Eastman Wind ensemble allowed for the popularity of the works by Hindemith, Schoenberg, Stravinsky, Holst and Persichetti. • 3. The Nuclear Crisis Of Hiroshima And Hiroshima Let us first consider each text s portrayal of the nuclear meltdown at Grafenrheinfeld. While both texts draw parallels between nuclear accidents and nuclear warfare, Pausewang s emphasis on the latter highlights a Cold War era fear of intentional nuclear annihilation. Consider, for example, how the survivors of the Grafenrheinfeld disaster are publicly called Hibakusha, a direct reference to the survivors of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This name, according to Natalie Eppelsheimer, suggests...no difference between the dangers of civilian and military nuclear policy: surviving victims of radiation of a nuclear disaster must live with the same consequences as the surviving victims of an atomic bomb (23 my translation). Thus, both texts emphasise how civilian use of nuclear technology carries many of the dangers of military use. But while Hage s text is content with this association, Pausewang s proceeds still further: the refugees after the [Second World] War were seen just as unfavourably [as Grafenrheinfeld s survivors], explains one Hibakusha to another, [e]ven though they weren t radioactive (92). Here, Die Wolke explicitly equates the threats of nuclear disaster and warfare, and indeed combines them into an implied threat of nuclear holocaust: after Hiroshima, warfare is as potentially deadly as a nuclear disaster, and via Hitler or Chernobyl, each has come to Germany in the last fifty years. Of course, Pausewang is not alone in drawing this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Is The Conspiracy Of Roswell The Conspiracy of Roswell Conspiracy theories are quite a talk among people. From UFO landings to the questioning of our government and other governments around the world. One of the many popular conspiracy theories that many talk about is the UFO incident of Roswell. To this day people embrace the UFO theory, and still visit the crash site each year. The events of Roswell still leave numerous questions unanswered; questions like: What exactly happened there? , What is Project Mogul? , and Why did the public get so worked up over this? First things first, what happened at Roswell? For those who don t know in the summer of 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico, a rancher, William Mac Brazel happened to stumble upon unidentifiable debris just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These series of dummy drops were conducted by the Air Force around the fields of New Mexico. The experiments were created and tested to find ways for pilots to survive high altitudes. They were sent bandaged, featureless dummies with latex skin and aluminum bones. The dummies fell from the sky and when they hit the ground the military took them as quick as possible. With their appearances and quick retrieval people speculated that the government was hiding something that they didn t want Roswell to know. They had thought the government, army and air force were kidnapping aliens and were experimenting on them. These test had only increased their speculation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. African American Human Rights Violations Human history has been plagued by violations of human rights on the premise of superiority and entitlement. From the earliest cases 10,000 years ago between Kenyan hunter gatherer tribes in Nataruk resulting in mass murder to more recent cases involving the Rohingya and Myanmar nationalists edging towards genocide, the continuing difficulty to resolve human rights violations highlights its relevance and importance. Despite the atrocities that have filled human history records, human rights have seen progress in even the most early of civilizations dating back to 539 BC when Cyrus, King of Persia, outlawed slavery and vouchsafed freedom of religion. Granted that human rights progress and restitution has pushed farther ever since, David Frum, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on his calculations, an estimated 1,000,000 African Americans would be excluded from this payment, as it would be unethical to grant imprisoned men and women money from the taxes of rape and murder victims. Simply put, the reparation programs would be exclusive to those who are slave descendants and are not rich, middle class or imprisoned which leaves a small sector of African Americans: the poor, impoverished individuals in mostly urban areas. By placing restrictions and filters on who receives the payments, people who need the money will actually receive it. The argument that the providers of the reparations will benefit rather than the beneficiaries is simply not true, since the poorest of families will be able to improve their standard of living and ultimately better their children s education and surroundings which will cause success in the long run. In addition, after the Civil War, the US created a reparations plan that promised former slave families forty acres of tillable land and a mule from the Union Army. Unfortunately, Andrew Johnson reversed this plan and returned all the land to plantation owners which left these families stranded and helpless. This led to decades of black vulnerability which locked them into poverty and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Franciscan Values Analysis Out of all of Our Franciscan Values which include, reverence the unique dignity of each person, encourage a trustful, prayerful community of learners, serve one another, society, and the Church, foster peace and justice, and respect creation. Although it took me a good portion of the semester, I believe that I fully recognize and understand the importance of these values as well as how they are put into play every single day here at USF. The core/human values that I have put into action this semester include serve one another, society, and the Church as well as reverence the unique dignity of each person. While seem to correlate to each other as both can be carried out by someone at any given time. Throughout my first semester here at USF, I believe that these two values are the easiest to be put into play within our lives and fall hand in hand with one another. ... Furthermore, each bag contained the same groceries which made this task fairly simple in comparison to my second day there. One my second day, I assisted those who were shopping for their groceries. Furthermore, I filled out forms which indicated how many pounds of food each person could take. My role was to keep track of 7 10 different shoppers at times while instructing them to what items they could take and how many pounds of those items. Senior citizens as well as those who are in an unfortunate situation benefitted from my actions due to the fact that I filled their bags with groceries and helped instruct people on what groceries they were allowed to ... • 7. Jfk Assassination Conspiracy Theories Essay Have you ever heard of an event that had more conspiracy theories than the JFK assassination? John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas at 12:30 on November 22, 1963. JFK was our 35th president of the United States, he was loved by many Americans and only some hated him, which might have led to the Kennedy assassination. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, a U.S. Marine American Sniper who secretly went to the Soviet Union for unknown reasons. The day of the assassination was a huge uproar, it happened so fast that many Americans couldn t explain what they saw, this created conspiracy theories. A conspiracy theory is a belief that an organization or individual is responsible for an event. One can conclude that the JFK ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many witnesses of the shooting said they saw smoke coming from the grassy knoll, this caused speculations that the shooter was located to the right of Kennedy, this could be argued why Kennedy s head went back from the backlash of the bullet. People who tuned into the assassination believed that there was a shooter from the Texas School Depository, then this came along and they all jumped from one shooter to multiple shooters, this connects to the other conspiracy theory of multiple shooters. Citizens who filmed the assassination released their film along with the Zapruder film, this was a huge advantage for the government. The grassy knoll was a highlight of these films, people discovered a silhouette that looked like a dog or a human, it was later called the Black Dog Man . People could argue this thing was the shooter because throughout the film this thing showed suspicious activity. Throughout the JFK assassination there were many speculations and conspiracy theories that Americans discovered. • 9. Chronic Neuropathic Pain After Spinal Cord Injury Chronic Neuropathic Pain after Spinal Cord Injury: Spinal cord injury (SCI) affects up to 500,000 people every year around the world (Singh et al., 2014) with devastating physical, psychological and social consequences. SCI not only damages motor systems, it also directly affects sensory systems, causing chronic, debilitating neuropathic pain. The incidence of neuropathic pain after SCI is extremely high, with at least half and up to 90% of SCI individuals experiencing neuropathic pain, described as paroxysmal pain that can be continuous and may be evoked by any sensory stimulus, not necessarily painful. Current pharmacological interventions offer minimal, transient relief to a minority (30%) of sufferers of SCI induced neuropathic pain (Cousins, 2012). Current treatment strategies utilize conventional drugs for chronic pain, which only address pain symptomatically and cannot provide lasting relief or prevent relapse of symptoms, leading to drug dependency and further reducing quality of life for SCI patients. Due to the myriad events that take place after SCI, delineating the causes of neuropathic pain development is difficult. Neuropathic pain in general, and more so in SCI, has an inherent degeneracy in mechanisms, which is likely why targeted pharmacological treatment approaches often fail to provide significant relief. Chronic neuropathic pain after SCI is a central pain syndrome, by definition arising directly due to damage to or dysfunction of the CNS. While SCIs are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In sociology, we observed a film called The Pursuit Happyness, where we witnessed the struggles a father went through to succeed. Chris Gardner, who was played by Will Smith, is living in his apartment with his wife and his son. Due to their struggles, the mother walks out on and leaves Chris struggling alone with his son. In the film Chris Gardner applies for an unpaid internship for a competitive stockbroker company where out of twenty men, only one gets the job. While he is on his internship, we see the hardships of getting kicked out of his apartment to staying at a shelter home to then sleeping in a subway bathroom with his son. Viewing the movie through a sociological lens, The Pursuit of Happyness will be analyzed according to the major three sociological paradigms: structural functionalism, social conflict theory, and symbolic interactionalism. As the movie begins, a structural functionalist would identify the social institutions involved. One of the first institutions introduced is family. The spouse of Chris Gardner is not satisfied with the amount of income coming he is earning. It is clear that the institution of family is not meeting the needs of happiness and financial stability because of the low income. The institution of family interrelates with many others, such as the education institution and especially economic institution. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eve Harrington Compare And Contrast I can say with certainty that the film adaptation did a much better job at presenting the tale of Eve Harrington than the original short story did, primarily because the movie allowed me to feel for the characters. Unlike the film, there are no flashbacks to the story itself, so I wasn t really able to actually visualize it. Third grade is the last year of education that students are taught to read. In 2002, forty two percent to third graders in Polk County failed the reading portion of the FCAT. This very clearly shows that most of Florida s, or at least Polk County s reading problems begin in elementary school. The blame for this can go to schools that have sub par reading programs. It can alternatively be attributed to parents who don t take the time to read with their children or hire tutors to help them when they need it. Most likely both are at blame, but only the schools seem to be putting forth an effort for changes. Florida s parents need to understand that they are very capable of teaching their children to read. Summer reading programs can help students struggling with literacy tremendously. When students read over the summer they keep their reading skills sharp instead of having to relearn them as soon as school starts again in the fall, which can be a big hindrance on their studies. Judaism, by a Christian worldview, had to change after Pentecost, since the animal sacrifice to atone for sin Christ completed on the Cross. However, Judaism does not accept this truth of Christ and His work on the cross, but Judaism remains in the world. So, what was this change in Judaism and when did it take place? There have been numerous fluctuations within Judaism, only the theme constructed in this essay has its foundations around the most important facet of Judaism the Temple. With the Temple in the forefront of this essay, we will discuss the modifications that Judaism went through, at what time, different perspectives that the destruction of the Temple had, and how the Christian sect views these vagaries. The Temple destruction of A.D. 70 converted the Jewish faith in its singular fashion, while, at the same point, the Jewish faith never had a total change by always changing throughout time. Before we can totally dive into how the Temple destruction changed Judaism, we must gain some knowledge of the Jewish faith itself, as well as Jewish terms. One of the first ideas many people may discover about the term Jew is its lack of use in the Old Testament scriptures. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Argument Essay On Texting While Driving Texting while driving is a controversial subject. The vast majority of people feel that texting while driving should be illegal. Most people also feel that legal actions need to take place to stop this behavior. However, I m part of the small majority that disagrees with the main point of view. I believe that texting while driving shouldn t be illegal and that states that have made it illegal need to repeal those laws. Texting while driving isn t the true problem. The true problem is that people get distracted easily. So I believe that making texting while driving illegal doesn t even solve the problem. Another reason why it shouldn t be illegal is that people don t follow laws as it is, and this can cause even more problems. Texting while driving should be the driver s choice, not the government s choice. While those who think that the law that bans texting while driving will solve the problem, I believe that it will only worsen the problem. The people who choose to follow the law most likely don t care about texting and driving. So they probably wouldn t text and drive even if it isn t a law. However, those who are addicted to texting and driving will not stop just because a law is passed. In past events where similar situations have occurred, it has only backfired on our government and society. This situation I m talking about is making certain drugs illegal. The government made drugs illegal believing it was going to help solve the crime rate, solve social problems, health, and hygiene. This clearly did not go as planned. It ended up creating gangs, private selling of different types of drugs, and crime rates increasing. I do agree that texting and driving is dangerous. However, I believe that texting and driving laws make the problem worse. People who still text and drive have to hide their phones lower on their laps than they normally would because it is illegal to text and drive. Since they have to put their phones lower on their lap, their reaction time increases. In some cases passing a law solves the problem, but in other cases , like texting while driving and making certain drugs illegal, the problem can possibly become worse. The reason why texting and driving is so dangerous isn t because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Hipaa Compliance And Technology Use Essay HIPAA compliance and technology use: In 1996 when Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted HIPAA compliance and the use of technology was not given that much importance as it is today. Only small percentage of people owned mobile phones twenty years ago which didn t have a lot of capabilities of communicating except the basic text messaging. Twenty years later the mobile device technology is much advanced and has much more capabilities and much faster than imagined. Advanced capabilities include messaging, internet access, e mails and ability to take pictures and be able to send using the mobile device. The problems with medical organizations staying HIPAA compliant with modern technology: The faster and more functional mobile devices with Multi capabilities raised concerns regarding the use of the technology and HIPAA compliance. Concerns relating to patients privacy and ePHI(electronically protected health information) security. Due to these concerns regulations within HIPAA were enacted in 2013 to address these concerns. Legislation related to use of technology to comply with HIPAA requires insurance companies, health care providers, employers insurance, to implement administrative, physical and technical safeguards for protecting the confidentiality of patients information which prevents a breach of ePHI. If a breach of ePHI occurs, Healthcare providers, employers, third party service providers and insurance companies are liable for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also government revenues increased with the expansion of the automobile industry. They had to find a way to maintain the roads therefore licensing and gas fees were introduced. The automakers did not only increase the lifestyle of the people in the southern provinces but they had a big impact on the western provinces also. Agriculture was one of the many industrial sectors that benefited from the automakers. With cars being built it was now easier for the farmers to sell their products in the market. They now had a more comfortable way to travel and this made their jobs easier. Also the introduction of the farm tractors was a big help in the agriculture industry. The farm tractors increased crop quantities and livestock volume. The tractor was a great invention as it was more efficient and less time consuming. One of the negative impacts of the automobile industry in Canada is that of the regional economic imbalances between the provinces. • 32. The City Of A Mid Size City The crosswalk in this city is typical of a mid size city. Small businesses line the busy street, and with people eager to get to their destination, a combination of sights, sounds and smells unites to form this crosswalk. This city s intersection is lively with the commonplace sights of businesses, people and vehicles. On a sunny and breezy afternoon, three Eastern and Western based businesses, on the far left, line up one after another vying for attention from potential patrons. In the middle, the sidewalk is filled with an array of people. At the forefront of the sidewalk there are three people that are on the edge of the crosswalk. To the left, a medium build, middle aged white female with long black hair is about to cross the crosswalk. She is wearing black shoes, a black dress and a white short sleeved blouse. Some people would refer to this as business casual. Around her neck is a lanyard that appears to be carrying an identification badge. She is holding a rolled up, brown lunch bag in her left hand. While on her cell phone, she walks forward and looks downward as to shield her eyes. During her walk, her hair is grazed by the wind. In the middle of the sidewalk, a thin, elderly white man with a gray beard man is the focal point of the picture. He is wearing a brown fedora, thin framed eyeglasses along with a brown coat, gray pants and black dress shoes. His eyes are gazing forward as if he just locked eyes with someone from afar. Vanderhaeghe elicits a sense of blurred lines between opposites, giving the illusion that boundaries are not so statically fixed. The historical figure Jerry Potts illustrates that the division between Indigenous and white is not so easily distinguished by ways of appearances, languages, and relations. The lines of health and illness intertwine as the reader follows Addington s syphilis, Custis mystery ailment, and the Indigenous peoples struggle with smallpox. In The Last Crossing Potts is used as a guide primarily, but his gift with languages bridges the gap between whites and Indigenous, as he is able to speak English to the Gaunt brothers. Without the understanding of language, the relationship between the Metis man and the English brothers would never have been established. PROOF COMMENT Names create an identity, and Vanderhaeghe uses this convention to further confuse the division between Indigenous and white. Jerry Potts is also referred to as Ky yo kosi and Bear Child throughout the novel, mirroring his own inner conflict of being unsure of what he really is. Furthermore, there was a sustaining potential which is the limit of the population density in garden city plan, so they would build a new garden city nearby when another city has reached the limit. In his opinion piece for CNN appropriately title College is a waste of time , Stephens shows the downsides of going to college such as the cost of it, the consequences of failing, and how it does not prepare you for the real world. The Wabash National study held a survey asking college students and graduates what they came away with out of college. With all the data they captured, the study concluded that the majority of the groups tested believe the only things they learned from school were life lessons. The fact of the matter is, although you learn life lessons throughout your experience in college, ultimately it is a waste of time because it does not help you much academically. Sixty two percent of students tested from the survey believed they have moderate to high growth in moral reasoning. This is a no brainer, seeing that it is a common knowledge that you would pick up by just going through your life and having form experience. Only twenty one percent of the students said they have made a contribution to science in college. For something that people go to college for, to learn and contribute to their specific fields of interest, this number is baffling. • 38. Beethoven Beethoven Homogeneity Compression, homogeneity (1809 10) Sonata in F Sharp Major, op. 78 (1809) is challenging performers with the fragmented short motivic ideas which is eventually the characteristic of Beethoven s last sonatas. One other interesting factor making this sonata unique is its intro measures. It is only four measure long, but it is not appropriate to be called introduction because of its completeness which never happened in the eighteenth century introduction. Rather it is better to be considered as a (fragment of an) independent movement despite of the short length. Sonata in G Major, op.79 (1809) is a relatively easy with full of humor and romantic character. Sonata in E flat Major, op. 81a (1809 10) is the only program sonata by Beethoven for the reason he gave titles to each movement. Summation, transcendence (1814 27) The final years, especially from 1812 to 1817, were difficult for Beethoven. He had the lawsuit over his nephew s custody and suffered from deafness and Immortal Beloved. Especially the letter of Immortal Beloved and an attempt to starve himself are the biggest event between 1809 to 1814 when he restrained himself from writing a piano sonata. E minor op. 90 is important for its role as a turning point for Beethoven. This sonata is one that Beethoven wrote for the first time after the five year of struggling, and form this point, his composition took completely new direction.
