The Gospel brand is differentiated by interpreting reality as both created and inherently friendly. Authentic friendship transcends self-interest and instead finds intrinsic rewards in truth, beauty, goodness, and other virtues. While "transcending" does not mean doing without, it may require re-emphasizing some aspects for some people. The core mission of religion is to interpret reality rather than describe, norm, or evaluate it, as those activities are already within human reason, though living according to the Good News would have moral implications by motivating people to exceed the demands of justice.

We determine character by observing how people live according to God's teachings. We should also honor others because of God's unfailing love, which he reveals through mercy, grace, and compassion. We show honor by loving God with our whole being and loving others as ourselves.

God shows Ezekiel a vision of dry bones in a valley and asks if they can live. Ezekiel says only God knows. God commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones, saying God will attach tendons and flesh to the bones and breathe life into them. As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together and are covered with flesh, but have no breath. God then commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the breath, and when he does breath enters the bodies and they become a vast army. God explains the vision represents Israel thinking their hopes are gone, but God will breathe new life into them and bring them back to their land.
1. Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her she would conceive and give birth to a son named Jesus, who would be the Son of God.

3. Mary later praised God, recognizing his power shown through her humble position, and that with God nothing is impossible.
Elijah challenges the prophets of Baal to a contest on Mount Carmel to determine whose god is truly God. Elijah has the people of Israel pour water over a sacrifice three times to show it is God, not Baal, who controls both fire and water. When Elijah prays, fire falls from heaven and consumes the sacrifice, causing the people to acknowledge that the Lord is God. However, Jezebel threatens Elijah's life in response, causing him to flee into the wilderness where God appears to him through a gentle whisper rather than the dramatic events of wind, earthquake and fire.
Genesis 28:16-17, 20-21 describes Jacob having a dream where he realizes God's presence. He makes a vow that if God protects and provides for him, Jacob will make God his God.
Genesis 32:24-32 recounts Jacob wrestling with a man until dawn. The man touches Jacob's hip socket, injuring him. The man blesses Jacob and changes his name to Israel, meaning "he who struggles with God".
The key lessons are that we face struggles in life, but with faith in God we can overcome. God promises to be with and provide for us if we commit to following Him.
