Panda Bears Vs. Environment
Ramsha Hashmi
ENGL 21003 Section F2
Research Paper
October 15, 2015
Panda Bears vs Environment The population of giant pandas is decreasing so rapidly that it has
reached the point that they are considered an endangered species. These black and white bears
reside mainly in China where seventeen percent of the total population of pandas reside. They are
habituated in bamboo forests, which are not only the panda s home, but also their main source of
food. A panda s diet consists of ninety percent bamboo and ten percent of mushrooms, insects, fish,
plants and other small rodents. These bamboo forests are being taken from them, because the
human population is constantly expanding and using their bamboo forests as land for growing
crops or to build roads. Combined with the natural dying on bamboo and logging, these defenseless
panda bears are forced to seek new areas and see whether or not there is a sufficient amount of
bamboo for them to consume, although many of them fail to do so and end up dying of starvation
instead. As of today, there are only twenty nine diminished and fragmented areas that have the
appropriate habitat to support the remaining panda bears. China s pandas have been threatened with
extinction, suffered from low birth rates, and have been ridiculed by human s interference with
their habitat; now they are faced with another obstacle, starvation. The climate change over the
years has brought the extinction rate of the pandas to rise at an

Evolution of the Characters in Alice Walker s Color...
Evolution of the Characters in The Color Purple
The most important aspect of The Color Purple is the growth and maturity of each individual. There
is a huge transition of many of the characters from the beginning to the end of the novel. This
evolution of the characters is a recurring theme that runs throughout the novel and can be tracked
by Celie s letters. The women struggle for freedom in a society where they are inferior to men.
Towards the end of the novel one can sense the slow evolution towards the increasing empowerment
of women.
The strongest example of women s empowerment is Celie s character. She s a victim of racism,
men, sexual roles, and social injustices. Celie begins the novel completely powerless, ... Show more

(lamda, 1) Shug s character symbolizes the independence these women had at a time when the
independence of a black woman was nonexistent. Many women blues performers sang about
breaking away from traditional society and gaining their liberty. For example, Bessie Smith s
song, Tain t Nobody s Bizness If I Do (Bessie Smith Collection, Track 2), she preaches.
The use of names throughout the novel is also a way to show the power roles between the
characters. This can be seen by the fact that Celie is unable to call Mr. _______ by his first name,
and in fact hardly even recognizes the
name when Shug uses it. By not calling Mr. _______ by his first name Celie lacks any power over
him and is forced into her role of a submissive wife.
As time goes on Celie is finally able to break away from the coercion of her life and leave her
husband. She starts her own business sewing pants, which is one way she indicates her freedom.
This highlights the fact that she has gained more individuality and is willing to assert herself.
She has now become able to recognize the importance of her existence. Celie proves this when
she writes, I m pore, I m black, I may be ugly and can t cook, a voice say to everything listening.
But I m here.
At the end of the novel Celie has finally created a permanent life for herself. The way she interacts
with the other characters and attitude towards things has

Bonnie Steinbock On Infidelity
In this essay, I will argue that Bonnie Steinbock suggesting that adultery could possibly be
permissible is unacceptable because of the following reasons: betrayal and that you are making a
commitment with someone. I will demonstrate that my thesis is correct by using the Kantianism
theory. Then, I will explain Steinbock s argument. Next, I will explain my thinking for reason
number one, and for reason number two on how it supports my argument. Following, I will address
an objection and respond to that, and then conclude my argument.
In the article, Steinbock suggests that infidelity could be acceptable under some situations. She
explains how a husband takes care of his disabled wife for many years. The husband loves his wife
very much and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You are making a promise to be with only that person. You made the commitment to be with them
through certain actions regarding the wedding vows. Someone involving adultery would be
going against those vows. In the vows it states that ...in sickness and in health. In the article, his
wife is in the matter of being sick, and because of her sickness of being paralyzed, she is unable to
enjoy and live life with her husband as normal. The husband has an affair because of his needs of a
marriage that his disabled wife cannot contribute to anymore. It is as if he is leaving her behind
physically. He did not keep his promise of sharing those valuable things in a marriage with his
wife. I will once again explain the three steps of the Principle of Universalizability to help
determine if infidelity is acceptable. The first step is to formulate your maxim clearly state what
you intend to do, and why you intend to do it. (Shafer Landau. 2014. pg164). The intention is for
the husband to sexually abandon his wife with no intention of telling his her about it. And his

Impact Of Urbanization On Urban Areas
1.Urbanization deals with the number of people in urban places and also refers to the process of
people moving to cities or other heavily settled places. The term urbanization also describes
changes in social organization that happens as a consequence of heavily populated areas.
Urbanization is a process. It is what happens when rural areas are changed into urban areas.
According to Louis Wirth, the components of urbanization include size, density, and heterogeneity
and these are the independent variables that create a distinct way of life called urbanism. (Palen,
2012) Urbanism refers to social patterns and behaviors associated with living in urban settings.
(Palen, 2012) Urbanism is often seen as a consequence of urbanization. It deals with changes in
values, mores, customs, and behaviors of a population. Urbanism is a response, both socially and
behaviorally, to living in a particular urban area. Urbanism puts an emphasis on competition,
achievement, superficiality, anonymity, independence and tangential relationships. (Palen, 2012)
The study of urbanization deals with the urban area as a spatial, economic, and political body.
(Palen, 2012) This is generally referred to by sociologists as a human ecological approach. This is
because the study deals with how the ecology of the citydeveloped, especially with the relationships
and dependence of organisms with their environment. The study of urbanism takes a more cultural
or social psychological approach

Sociological Concepts In Disney Movie Pocahontas
Concepts in Sociology
There are five sociological concepts I am going to explain. And I will be using scenes from the
Disney movie Pocahontas as examples. The five are: norms, role conflict, values, ethnocentrism and
cultural relativism.
The first concept I would like to talk about is norms. Norms are different rules, whether they are
spoken or assumed, about which kinds of behaviors are acceptable in a culture and which ones aren
t acceptable. As an example I would like to use the Disney movie Pocahontas. A clear example of a
norm from this movie is the scene where Pocahontas has disobeyed her father by talking to the
white man (aka John Smith). Disobedience was something you did not do in her village. The
father was in charge of the family and the rest of the family was expected to listen. Another norm
for her culture was to take care of the village and everyone in it. Their culture wasn t all about
fun and adventure. They made sure their top priority was the life and ease of everyone in the
village. Norms can also change. There is a scene where the chief, Powhatan, tells the village that no
one is allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Values are beliefs that certain things are good and important which a group of people share.
Another way of saying this is a group s values are what the group thinks are important. For the
Indians in Pocahontas, the important things are the villages and the families. So they value
friendship and their homes. They also valued the land. The Indians believed in the land and
learned about it, not just used it. For them the important things were to take care of their families.
While the Governor of Virginia valued gold and power. The important thing for him was to get
lots of money so he could go back to England and be rich and powerful. It s the same thing in the
scene where Smith shows Pocahontas the piece of gold. She doesn t know what it is and doesn t
think that it is important. But for him, that is a very important part of

Bowling For Columbine Essay
As humans living in a modern sociological time period, the truth can be cleverly and ingeniously
twisted by film directors to convince us that their sole opinions are factual. This is most definitely
no exception regarding Academy Award winning filmmaker Michael Moore and his documentary
Bowling for Columbine.
Michael Moore explores the lead up to the Columbine massacre and more broadly, the
proliferation of guns and rapidly growing homicide rate in America. Moore also investigates the
reason as to why Canada, in comparison to America, does not have the same rate of gun related
crimes.
The alarming and disturbing tragedy befalling on April 20, 1999 at America s Columbine High
School is an act reflecting the extraordinarily high rate of gun related violence of American society.

Protestors demanded that Manson should not perform.
One anonymous speaker announced that Marilyn Manson s music promoted what he called
Columbine like behaviour, such as hate, violence, death, suicide, and drug use.
The world is rightly outraged by Marilyn s music due to its prominent association with the
Columbine High School massacre.
A question that proficient critiques ask themselves is this: How do documentary directors
purposely evoke certain emotions within their key scenes? It is clearly apparent that viewers are
positioned to believe Moore s point of view due to his clever use of persuasive techniques.
One major scene that has the tendency to evoke the emotions of carelessness and insensitiveness is
the What a Wonderful World sequence. The astute decision to incorporate images of deceased and
brutally incapacitated American s generates sympathy and ultimately results in the support of
Michael Moore s viewpoint.
In Bowling for Columbine, film director Michael Moore utilises the use of file footage and
inclusion of comedy satire to assist in reinforcing his idea of the

The Evolution Of The Law Of Fresh Evidence Essay
Case Law review: the evolution of the law of fresh evidence
As mentioned at the outset, in 1923, the Dominion Parliament gave broad discretionary powers
to Canadian appellate courts to receive any evidence it deemed necessary and in the interest of
justice to decide the issues on appeal against both verdict and sentence. However, unlike the
pragmatic approach of the British, the Canadian legislators did not provide statutory guidance to
the judiciary on the parameters for the exercise of this new power. It was therefore left to judges
and the courts to fashion common law principles and procedures for the admission of fresh
evidence with respect to verdict appeals, appeals from sentence and to a lesser extent references by
the Minister of Justice to Canadian appellate courts. Each is discussed in turn in the sections that
follow.
II.2.1Verdict appeals: incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence The slow but steady
evolution in Canadian fresh evidence law in criminal and quasi criminal proceedings can best be
classified into two distinct periods: the pre Palmer jurisprudence and the post Palmer developments.
II.2.1 (i) Pre Palmer Jurisprudence: 1910 1980
There have been incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence prior to the definitive judgment
in Palmer in 1980. In 1925, the British Columbia Court of Appeal was the first appellate court to
apply the new powers enacted in 1923 to admit fresh evidence. Prior to these amendments, appellate
courts could

Samuel Gompers Chapter Summary
For this assignment, I chose to read Samuel Gompers and Organized Labor in America written
by Harold C. Livesay and published in 1978. Samuel Gompers is the subject of the book, which
discusses his role in organizing the American Federation of Labor. Livesay evaluates Samuel
Gompers struggle to create the American Federation of Labor. He describes the struggle the
American Federation of Labor went through for survival. Basically, he tells the story of how
Samuel Gompers worked his whole adult life to create the American Federation of Labor. Livesay
divided the book into ten chapters, which were arranged chronologically. The headings for the
chapter were appropriate for each, as they described what would follow in each chapter. Each
chapter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He presented what I felt to be well researched and thorough information. He did not drift off of
topic or provide misleading information. He did not provide unnecessary information, I felt that
all information provided was essential for telling Gomper s story. However, I felt that even
though the chapters were divided chronologically, the author jumped around to different dates
too much. I felt that he should have waited to mention some things until there appropriate
chapters. He repeated some information that had been previously mentioned in other chapters. I
felt that the chronological order of the material is the way it should have been presented.
Presenting it in a topical organization would have probably thrown the reader off course. I had
only partially learned of Samuel Gompers in my studies and felt that the book enhanced my
knowledge of how much he struggled to make his dream a reality. The book tells how much he
gave up to make his dream possible. I did not realize how ruthless Gompers could be in making
the AF of L what it became. Livesay mentions Sam rarely admitted to his mistakes. But claiming
credit and ducking blame was just one of the ways Gompers consolidated his power (page 105).
This explains that Gompers was not always the honest and hardworking man I had thought he was.
But again, I hadn t learned much about him. This book helped me to get to know Gompers on a
personal level. The references and quotes included

Phoenix had endured and witnessed her entire life. Hard work was a way of life, much like Dr.
Jackson that worked tirelessly to find a cure to save the young children who had swallowed lye,
it made her strong enough to face this encounter (Stang). In addition, it was hard work and
agility to walk along a log to cross a creek with her eyes closed, the wisdom to shimmy under
barbed wire fences without getting hung up, the endurance to go up and down hills and through
hollers, and the devotion to make the trip to the Doctors office and back (Welty). Although, in
her nineties Phoenix was strong and very capable to walk that worn path and do it with the
dignity of a grandmother that cares about her grandson. The story tells that Phoenix was a

Faha Insured Loans Pros And Cons
Pros and Cons of FHA insured loans
Families that have low or moderate income looking for a mortgage have a lifesaver in FHA
insured loans. Loans insured by Federal Housing Administration otherwise known as FHA loans
are great for families that do not have a high income. FHA insured loans are government backed
loan programs designed to help families get new loans of their homes at extremely low costs
compared to conventional mortgage loans.
One of the major misconceptions about FHA insured loans that need to be clear is the source of the
loans. It is worth knowing that the Federal Housing Administration does not give out loans. Instead,
the agency insures loans given to borrowers by lending institutions. This insurance consequently
makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These drawbacks have somewhat affected borrowers demand for FHA loans. Some of these
drawbacks are as follows.
One of such disadvantages is the limits set by FHA on loan amount that can be taken by
borrowers. This measure is to ensure that the privilege is not abused by borrowers and only
families that fall within the approved income bracket benefit from the loan.
Another drawback of FHA insured loans to some people is the requirement that borrowers must
reside in the house and use it as their primary residence. This condition makes the loan not suitable
for persons that are looking to purchase a home as a vacation spot or as an investment property.
The reason for the restriction is that the loans are designed for families that are trying to get a home
for themselves.
One of the major features of getting an FHA insured loan is that borrowers need to go through an
FHA approved lending institution. However, this is only part of the process, and fortunately, there
are tens to hundreds of lending institutions approved by the Federal Housing Administration to
provide mortgage loans to

Regulation and Functions of the p53 Protein
p53 gene, also known as tumor protein 53 (TP53), encodes for a tumor suppressor protein which
regulates the cell cycle and apoptosis. The p53 protein has been described as the guardian of the
genome (1) because of its role in preventing genetic mutation. It belongs to a protein family which
includes p53, p63 and p73 and these are structurally and functionally related to each other.
However, p53 seems to have evolved as a tumor suppressor in higher organisms, while p63 and p73
play a role in normal developmental biology (2).
Structure of p53
P53 functions primarily as a transcription factor, and is biologically active as a homo tetramer
comprising of 4 X 393 amino acid residues. Each monomer comprises of several functional
domains:
1.An acidic N terminus transcription activating domain 1 and 2 (TAD1/2) This region interacts
with various transcription factors
2.Proline rich region (PRR) This plays a role in p53 stability
3.Central DNA binding domain (DBD) required for binding to specific sites on the DNA.
4.Tetramerization domain (OD) required for the assembly of the functional tetramer.
5.Carboxyl terminus domain (CTD) which is bound to DNA binding domain and is involved in
negative modulation of DNA binding domain.
The central DNA binding domain is the most highly conserved region of p53, when compared to
its other family members, p63 and p73. Loss of tumor suppressor function of p53, as seen in most
cancers, results from missense mutations in the DNA

Eleanor Roosevelt s Role Of Women
While I spoke there was complete silence. It was striking after the pandemonium that had
existed....on several occasions [Franklin] said to others, Her speech was just right (Roosevelt 217

colossal impact that Eleanor Roosevelthad on people (Roosevelt 216 218). No other First Lady

To Kill A Mockingbird Moral Development Essay
Kohlberg s Moral development in Kill a Mockingbird Lawrence Kohlberg created critical
culturally universal stages of moral growth which can be used to explain the behavior of
characters in to kill a Mockingbird book by Harper Lee. The book Kill Mockingbird tells a story
of children growing up stage by stage from a tender age and their lives changing so we can observe
the moral development through various events. Kohlberg believes that the morals of people
develop at different levels starting from one to six levels. However, from the Kill a Mockingbird the
moral development is illustrated using three main characters Atticus, Scout and Jem Finch.
Kohlberg s moral development is divided into three stages; pre conventional, conventional, and post
conventional morality, which can be used to show the moral growth of the three characters from

Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After the uncontrollable death rate of three percent of
the world s population in 1940, World War II came to a halt with the surrender of the Axis

Child Labor And Slavery
Child Labor and Slavery Very Rough Draft
Each year, as many as 2.7 million healthy years of life are lost due to child labor. Imagine that
You are being held as a slave and forced to do dangerous labor as a child. Many people are being
held captive and or being forced to do perilous things sweating their lives away, not taking breaks,
and being put in adult like situations. In fact right now there are 15 20 million children working as
slaves. Although it provides children and families with money, and possibly something to learn
from, children should not be enslaved or forced to do labor because it is very dangerous and can
damage a child for the rest of their life.
The employment of a child is most often very dangerous. Not only do children get diseases and
illnesses, while working many children get a drug addiction. Kids get addicted to drugs because
they are either forced or think that it will make their lives easier. In some opinions this can be
true because their lives are so bad they want to kill themselves which drugs can do. Some
children are kidnapped into child laborers and kept as a slave. Lots of parents send their children
off to work everyday for extra money. While this happens the place/person may kidnap them and
keep them as slaves. When children walk by themselves they also get kidnapped and forced into
labor or may get killed for money. Many children are dying from working. 22,000 children a year
die from labor. There are many, many causes from this such

Rhetorical Analysis Of John M Barry
John M. Barry uses the various different types of rhetorical strategies to characterize scientific
research by comparing the opposites of both certainty and uncertainty, by referring to life in the
woods as a metaphor towards the mind and creation of science, and a series of rhetorical questions
that shows the process and mind of the scientists portrayed in John M Barry s essay. John M.
Barry describes certainty as a way to create strength and gives one something upon which to lean .
Uncertainty is something described as a way to create weakness and makes one tentative if not
fearful...may not overcome significant obstacles. This opens up the essay to the audience so that

natural influences, worsening sediment conditions to some extent surge up the debris flow
frequency and amplify the magnitude degree. Grain size influence on debris flow varies
depending on debris flow types (h/de50). If debris flows were thin, then the grain size has little
influence on the velocity of the flow. In contrast, if debris flows were thick and viscous, the grain
size would have the more prominent impact on debris flows. As we can extract from figure 14, the
absolute multipliers are both small for the liquidand solid phase that give rise to the barely
perceptible influence on debris flow velocity. Nevertheless, the grain size has positive effect on
liquid phase, while grain size has negative effect on solid phase hinge on the figure and the model.
As comparing +(гЂ–2dгЂ—_e гЂ–(1 П†)гЂ—^2)/(3kПЃ_f ) the multiplier stands for liquid phase,

know that as density of liquid phase is smaller than solid phase (Guo et al., 2014), thereby the
divisor for the liquid phase multiplier is smaller than that of the solid phase, so that the absolute

Controversial Political Cartoons
In mid two thousand and eight, a New York magazine had circulated a controversial political
cartoon targeting the White House s current residents, the President, and first lady. Within weeks

The Challenges In The Case Of Tata Motors
Ratan Tata initiated and proposed to produce and deliver a passenger car at the Annual General

Comparing God And God In Greek Mythology
I had taken a particular liking to Greek mythology when I read a certain book series. I knew very
well about god at the time so despite me liking Greek mythology, actually believing it never
crossed my mind. I will explain the overall difference between Gods sovereignty and that of Greek
fatalism.
If you so happen to be a Christian that knows about Greek mythology, then one thing stands out the
most; there is only one god in Christianity besides there are several gods in Greek mythology.
Zeus (the highest and most powerful god) created all gods in Greek mythology, as in our god
that has been here since the beginning of time. Zeus is not a loving god. Zeus is more of a
figure that plays with puppets in this huge play room, he s more of an image of power and
greatness that wished to be worshiped at all times. Our God is a loving God that created
everything and controls everything. He has an image of power and love though has a personal
relationship with his followers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He can produce lightning bolts and alter the weather. Unlike God, Zeus has weaknesses which
basically means he could be defeated. Zeus s two brothers Poseidon and Hades are also the most
powerful gods among most other gods. All of these gods can sometimes have children called
demigods which is a being that is half God half Man. God only has one child, Jesus. Since Zeus
could be defeated, he is not as almighty and powerful as God. God granted us the ability of free
will while as Zeus and all other Gods can manipulate, control and destroy its people at will. When
you die you would go the three realms, with God there is only heaven or

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection that happens in the urinary system. It can occur in the
kidneys, ureters, bladder or urethra. The most common UTIs happen in the bladder or urethra.
Urinary tract infections happen when bacteria goes through the urethra into the bladder and starts
to multiply. These type of infections are more common in women because of their short urethras.
Urinary tract infections start by pathogens going into the urethra toward the bladder. In the bladder
the bacteria begins to multiply which is when you usually start to see symptoms of the UTI. If not
treated the bacteria can continue to go into the ureters and eventually the kidneys. If the bacteria
reaches the kidneys and goes untreated it could eventually

African Americans During Reconstruction Essay
African American Empowerment During Reconstruction (1863 1877) In the years 1863 1877,
blacks were able to make their first successful efforts in terms of empowerment, creating the
foundation for future African American movements. During reconstruction, African Americans,
through collaboration and politics, began to work at equal rights. By empowering themselves
politically, building communities and fighting against the lynching efforts of the KKK and other
anti black terrorist groups, African Americans began a movement to combat racism in the United
States. During reconstruction from 1863 1977, African Americans were able to lower the
political barrier American society had on them, previously being restricted from voting. Edmund

Museums and art galleries make an important contribution to our cultural landscape. A visit to a
museum or art gallery can happen for many reasons. People may want to learn, be reflective, to be
entertained or to have a fun day out with friends and family. People may have a deep interest in
what they will see there or they may just want something to do on a rainy afternoon.

Digital technology can provide opportunities for enhancing these experiences in a number of
ways. They may offer information before a visit. During a visit users might want information or
to communicate in some way. Mobile devices can be location aware. For example, this can be
done using QR codes. A QR (Quick Response) code (see image below) is a matrix barcode which
can be scanned by a device fitted with a camera (such as a smart phone). A user could scan a code
next to an exhibit to launch some location based service. And after the visit there may be some
follow up activities, perhaps using information about what interested them.

How Was The Delian League Successful
Explain how successful the Delian League was.
The Delian League, an alliance of Greek city states with Athens as the leader, was proven to be
very successful during the Persian Wars.
After Persia endured a conclusive thrashing at Eurymedon (468 BC), numerous individuals upheld
disintegration of the league. Athens, in any case, which had benefitted incredibly from the league,
contended that the threat from Persia was not over. At the point when Naxos endeavored to
withdraw, Athens, taking the administration from the gathering, constrained (c.470 BC) Naxos to
hold dependability. Before long Thasos endeavored a similar move and was in like manner
repressed (463 BC) by the Athenian general Cimon. The Athenians were so effective in their points,

The ad that first aired in July 1941 was for Bulova watches, and the results were significant in
terms of sales. This pioneering event encouraged other businesses joined in the effort and advertise
on television, and things took off from there. In soon time, television advertising became known as
being, a cost effective way of reaching the masses . Many years later, this trend would continue, and
would continue to take up more time during any given hour of programming.
Today, advertising has become a multi billion dollar business, both with their product endorsement
and their capture of audiences. For Comcast, it is estimated that advertising is their second highest
revenue generating business, and it is believed that they are the biggest advertising company in the
Nation, if not the world, when it comes to the amount of advertising inventory they manage and the
revenue that is generated. This is due to the fact that companies and Networks alike are willing to
spend significant amounts of money to advertise, and the revenue at stake, for all involved, is
substantial.
Given the cost, and value, of advertising, there has also been an interesting shift in the industry. As
mentioned, companies are willing to spend the money necessary to reach their audiences, but at the
same time, they do not want to create any waste. In advertising, waste is considered any audience
that is not represented in the customer

Different Levels Of Development Within The Middle East...
The perception of unresolved non water related issues with one s neighbours, both water related
and otherwise, is also an exacerbating factor in water conflicts. Israel, Syria, and Turkey, each and
respectively have difficult political issues outstanding, which makes discussions on the Jordan and
Euphrates more intricate. Relative development can inform the nature of water disputes in a
number of ways. For example, a more developed region may have better options to alternative
sources of water, or to different water managementschemes, than less developed regions, resulting
in more options once negotiations begin. In the Middle East multilateral working group on water,

One interesting lack of correlation is also found in Mandel s study that between the number of
disputants and intensity of conflict. He suggests that this challenges the common notion that the
more limited, in terms of number of parties involved, river disputes are easier to resolve. Another
surprising lack of correlation that we seem to be finding is, somewhat counter intuitively, that
climate seems not to be a major variable in water disputes. This fact may be because water has
multiple uses, but these uses vary in critical importance, depending on climatic conditions. The
hydropower or transportation offered by a river in a humid climate is no less important to its
riparians than is the irrigation water provided by a river in an arid zone. An important aspect of
international water conflicts is how water is controlled within each of the countries involved.
Whether control of the resource is vested at the national level, as in the Middle East, the state level,
as in India, or at the sub state level, as in the United States, informs the complication of international
dialog. Also, where control is vested institutionally is important. In Israel, for example, the Water
Commissioner for years was under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture, whereas Jordanian
control is at the ministerial level, with the Ministry of Water. These respective institutional settings

Roller Coasters History

Not thinking about anything when really you put all your faith in a little cart connected to a

making, and thrill of the coaster. The history of roller coasters is as important as any other step
because the architects learn from others mistakes and what they did right. The beginning of
roller coasters started in Russia in the 1400 s when people would make hills with the snow and
send there sleds down the hills. They would build would towers to get to the top of the hill. In the
1700 s they put wheels on the bottom of the sleds and would be able to go down artificial hills
during the summer, they would also use different colored lanterns so they could ride at night. The
first roller coasteropened in 1804 in France. The roller coasters didn t last long Do to the increase

are human beings. One of the reasons of joy Kuhn has in practicing this skill is to tell a story

what Kuhn s experiences in the past and present. The strongest factor when looking at the sculpture

The Treaty Of Versailles and Establishment of Peace
The Treaty Of Versailles established an uneasy peace. I will prove this by looking at such factors
as The Big Three s lust for revenge on the Germans, the four major problems encountered when
composing the treaty, the final terms of the treaty and the Germans anger at it.
The Big Three were three powerful leaders from three powerful nations. They would be Woodrow
Wilson, Georges Clemenceau and David Lloyd George, of the USA, France and the UK
respectively. These great men would decide the fate of Germany.
Woodrow Wilson wanted to create a League of Nations which was a new organisation which could

The war ran through France and therefore people s homes, land and other property were destroyed.
All the countries who were lost went into debt, therefore the Germans had to pay war reparations,
despite the damage not being entirely the fault of Germany.
Self determination also caused problems and nationalist groups were keener than ever to rule
themselves and be free of their empires. Woodrow Wilson encouraged self determination, as he
saw smaller countries less of a threat. This was included in the Treaty of Versailles.
Russia was taken over by communists in 1917. It was spreading all around the world. Capitalist
countries were scared that the communists would take over. Communists wanted everyone to be
equal. (Communist countries were denied membership to the League of Nations.)
Twenty million people died in WWI. There had never been a war like it. It was meant to be the
war to end all wars, but failed to succeed, Consequently causing more problems.
The following points were decided and written on the final Treaty of Versailles.
Alsace Lorraine must be returned to France after being stolen in 1871. The French PM, Georges
Clemenceau wanted it back.
The Rhineland, in between Germany and France will remain part of Germany, but no German
military forces are permitted to enter, because it would be the optimum point to attack France.

Music Education And Its Effect On Education
The German philosopher, Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, referred to a life without music as a
mistake ( Don t ). Unfortunately, many children never get the opportunity to discover the
fulfillment that music can bring to their lives. They are denied this chance by an unfair educational
system. Music education is beneficial to the student throughout his entire life, thus it should not be
cast aside and neglected as it often is in the public school system today, but instead schools should
do just the opposite; treat musiceducation as a priority.
The evidence makes clear the benefits of playing a musical instrument on students abilities to
perform academically. For example, the Harmony Project is an after school program that provides
music lessons to children from underprivileged neighborhoods of California. Ninety three percent
of seniors in the program have graduated from high school in four years and gone on to college.
This is truly incredible when one considers that the communities where the program takes place
have dropout rates of over 50% (Turner). One explanation for this significant improvement is the
direct impact playing music has on the students brains. A study conducted by Nina Kraus, a
neurobiologist at Northwestern University, demonstrates this impact. By running tests on the
program s members, Kraus data suggests students who had studied music for two years were better
at processing speech than those who had been in the program for only one year (Turner).

keeping Elsa, the smallest of the bunch. As their time with the lioness continues, they are given
orders to return her to the wild, where they realize they must return her to her roots among the
African Savannah, touching on the theme of natureand the true meaning of freedom. Elsa s legacy
within this film is her role as an ambassador like role in being a bridge between mankind and nature
in helping understand the limit in humanity s ability to survive alongside the wild.
Like humans, animals are capable of emotion. Many people fear creatures like Elsa because they
are mainly known for their instinctual and predatorial nature. In the film, John Kendall, George s
boss and presumably experienced in wildlife like lions, is fearful of Elsa despite her easygoing
and merry attitude with the Adamsons. His position somewhat makes this ironic, as one would not
normally fear what they are trying to protect and take care of. Elsa portrays a wide range of
emotions that people would usually think she would be unable to comprehend. Elsa expresses
sorrow when Joy leaves for town and as she waits for her to come back home, and then elation in
Joy s return. Lions and most animals have different ways of communicating their needs and
emotions. Humans tend to attribute human interactions to animals actions,

Government Corruption In Mexico City
The Olympic games are a two weeklong tournament where the best athletes compete with solidarity
and fair play to develop humanism and respect among every nation. Host candidates are chosen by
the IOC (International Olympic Committee) according to specific demands and requirements.
Nevertheless, chosen cities are meant to promise their entire commitment and effort for investing
in infrastructure, public security, public health and tourism. Despite this optimism, the prevailing
concern is that the costs will increase for those living in the host nation, while the mayor benefits
will be for the IOC and all the multinational partners involved. For example, while Brazil spends
billions of dollars, the IOC is expected to earn billions too through sponsorship deals, owning TV
rights and many other income fees. While new stadiums and new luxury hotels are built, citizens
living in the favelas will be forced to leave their homes just for the government to exhibit the
perfect image of a role model host. Of course everyone knows what the people are protesting about:

Instead of spending millions of dollars in luxurious facilities, the budget can be reduced, avoiding
any type of corruption during the construction. Also, those said facilities should be built on cities
where there will be a long term use once the Games are over. To illustrate, when Mexico City held
the Olympiads, the government promised that the facilities were investments meant for the
citizens to give them the opportunity to practice sports with the best resources. Nowadays,
Mexico City keeps upgrading and renovating the Olympiad facilities, which should be done by
every nation who will be or has been host. Peru will take this as an example of what should be
done and how to keep encouraging events of this

Alpine Village Of Verdigre Essay
Alpine Village of Verdigre Henry David Thoreau once said, Go confidently in the direction of
your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. Ever since I was young, I have repetitively told
myself this for my everyday future. Being a senior stepping into the real world in just a few
months is intimidating, but a challenge that I am more than ready to face head on. In this
upcoming fall, I will be attending The University of South Dakota striving for a bachelor degree in
a mental health field of study. I believe that I have chosen this field of expertise because of the
influence my parents have had on me, and possibly, most importantly, always pushing me to be a
better, more understanding human being. After watching both my motherand father work
consistently with the community up at Alpine Village of Verdigre, I have been pleased to find
myself wanting to endure the same thing help others. Everyday I know they are actively putting

My Meme Speech
For as long as I can remember, My Meme has been one of the most intelligent and godly people I
know. She and my Pawpaw helped my single mother raise me and my two sisters. They played a
huge part in turning me into the person I am today. Whether it was something that you needed to
know or when you were feeling down, Meme was there. She was a librarian and a teacher for
decades and everyone of her former students I ve met talk about how she was their favorite. Meme
was also the first to send out birthday or get well letters to members of our church, friends, and
family. A few years ago, she started to act a little strange and ditzy. At first we just thought she was
getting goofy in her old age, but as time went on, things got worse.
At first, she stopped recognizing little things like food being spoiled or the smell of gas. One
day, I came into Meme and Pawpaw s house and the air reeked of gas. Meme had unknowingly
left the gas stove on, unlit. I turned it off and cleared the air by opening up some doors and
windows. Soon we began to recognize that Meme was showing signs of Alzheimers. Eventually
we couldn t have candles in the house and we had to take the keys to Meme s car. My Pawpaw s
sight physical condition wouldn t allow him to drive, but my Meme couldn t understand why we
wouldn t let her. Before we took them, we would find her driving aimlessly around town or circling
the high school, looking for the post office.
Then three years ago, on the morning of August 23rd, my step dad Larry came into my room
and woke me up. Pawpaw had passed away in his sleep. The world stopped spinning, but my
head went reeling as I sat in my bed, surrounded by the darkness of the room. He was the best
man I ever knew and his death broke the hearts of so many. However, the one person who would
have been affected the most by his death couldn t quite grasp the concept of it. When the funeral
home gave us the box of Pawpaw s ashes for a service, it peaked her curiosity. After she finally
made us explain to her that Pawpaw s remains were in the box, she said Where s the rest of him? I
bet they cut his legs off! . Meme eventually recognized that Pawpaw was gone and he isn t coming
back. But even in her fractured mental state,

Dante s Inferno and the Garden of Earthly Delights
The Garden of Earthly Delights painted by Hieronymus Bosch, depicts many vivid fictional scenes
in triptych style. The right wing of the triptych depicts Hell and the causes of man s downfall,
which Dante wrote about in the Inferno. Dante tries to convey to all humanity the consequences of
human actions and the levels of hellthat he believes exist for different levels of sins. Dante
divides Hell up into ten different circles, and there is an upper and a lower level of Hell. Dante
and Bosch have similar views on the evil within people and this evil is represented in their works,
whether it transpires in a painting or in a book.

And that you may report on me up there, know that I am Bertran de Born, the one who evilly
encouraged the young king. (XXVIII: 133 135) Dante portrays the figure of Bertran as a man
who is holding his head that has been cut off. With regards to the disemboweled person, Wrong is
it for a man to have what he once cast off. (XII: 104 105)
br
br There is a woman at the bottom right of the painting that is being held by a kangaroo type
creature. This creature may represent the invisible force that Dante believes is inside a sinner that
makes him do the things he does, whether it be caused by mental or physical suffering. One of the
sinners in the Inferno, an Impersonator, kept craving water. He said, O you who bear no
punishment at all (I can t think why) within this world of sorrow, he said to us, pause here and
look upon the misery of one Master Adamo: in life I had all that I could desire, and now, alas, I
crave a drop of water. (XXX: 58 63) There is a man pictured near the woman and he is throwing
up. This could also be representative of the evil inborn in sinners.
br
br At the bottom left side of the painting is a man about to be eaten by a termite who has a game
table on his head. This is illustrating that the tables are turned on the man who has committed some
terrible crime. In the Inferno this is represented by Lucifer eating the three worst sinners, Judas

Washington Dc Vs Riyadh Research Paper
Have you ever thought about the similarities and differences between to different cities from two
different countries? Some countries are similar in many traditions. Also, you can find major
tradition differences between two different countries. A Capital is usually the biggest city in a
country. I have been to Washington D.C and Al Riyadh, they both are cities from two different
countries which are the United Statesand Saudi Arabia. we can compare and contrast both cities in
terms of food, weather, and festivals.
To begin with the similarity, DC and Al Riyadh are both big capital cities because as I mentioned
above usually a capital is the big city in the country. You can find in the both cities the government
and high authority branches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Black Friday is a day that comes after thanksgiving in U.S and this day you can find huge
discounts that the stores provide for the costumers, and the New Year s eve is the first day of
the year all the countries have a vacation on this day and most of the people celebrate with their
friends family and enjoy watching fireworks. In Riyadh there are only two special festivals, Eid
Al Fitter which comes after Ramadan all Muslims celebrate this special holiday because it is in
their religion, the wear new clothes and go to the mosque to pray in the morning and after that
they visit their friends and families and go back home to wait for an guests to come. Eid Al Adha,
is the second special holiday and it comes in the 10th day of Eid Al Haj and we sacrifice a sheep
and volunteer to poor people meat.
To sum up, each capital has similar and different traditions. There is a huge difference between
these two capitals D.C and Al Riyadh more than the similarities. However, capital cities have a
prominent place in the countries. I have been to both capitals and I think D.C has most spectacular
places, and incredible nature. Finally, there is many places to visit and have many activities to

The Nurturing College Professor Essay
The Nurturing College Professor
Nurturing behavior regarding teaching is defined in both negative and positive ways when
addressing the effectiveness of the teacher and his or her impact and influence on student learning.
Helping a student become a better and more involved learner is an important issue when talking
about nurturing teaching because it exists as one of the ultimate goals of this kind of encouraging
and supportive teacher. This teacher wants to see his or her students as engaged as possible with the
material.ìÖwe would expect students who are really learning to be asking question and exploring
connections between their personal lives and the course material in their writings and informal

A nurturing professor may, at this point, be posited as one that creates a Г¬supportive and
acceptingГ® environment for his or her student and that engages in Г¬situations where conflict
does ariseГ® (Jarratt).Susan JarrattГs concept of nurturing behavior is one that combines a non
threatening environment with a discursive and interactive one. In another discussion of the
importance and effectiveness of nurturing, Margo Culley et. al concurs with this definition. They
call for a Г¬fusion of affect and intellectГ® and the practice of being Г¬deeply engaged with [her]
students yet committed to a critical observation of this very phenomenon.Г® Jarratt and Culley et.
al are engaging with this concept of nurturing teaching as positive and illustrating what the practice
of it should entail. They both, however, conduct their research within the context of the feminist
classroom and affirm that this nurturing teaching is important for women teachers to posses,
especially those teaching women.Jarratt and Culley et. al are embracing a pedagogy began by early
women teachers and bringing it into the context of a modern classroom. This study of the
overriding benefits along with effectiveness and importance of nurturing teaching will, however,
illustrate how this feminist idea may be and ultimately must be brought to professor both male and
female in all different classroom contexts in order to create a better

While some promise rings will be given to the girl or woman in the relationship, other couples

Emergency Line Of Duty Essay
The key component to emergency line of duty is the essence of communication;
telecommunication to be exact! Emergencies operations would be very difficult without the first

the experienced personnel. The center composed of dispatchers for fire rescue and medical as

contact point for complainants. Call takers are under various pressure as they have to have great
customer service, while gathering urgent information to have emergency responders. This amount
of pressure can lead to ample stress, yet these strong individuals are able to manage and produce
great results. On the other hand, dispatchers must communicate with the police officers as they
patrol the streets. Dispatchers receive their information/calls from the call takers and dispatch
officers to calls to respond. They must decipher what they deem important to inform officers about

  • 2. Panda Bears Vs. Environment Ramsha Hashmi ENGL 21003 Section F2 Research Paper October 15, 2015 Panda Bears vs Environment The population of giant pandas is decreasing so rapidly that it has reached the point that they are considered an endangered species. These black and white bears reside mainly in China where seventeen percent of the total population of pandas reside. They are habituated in bamboo forests, which are not only the panda s home, but also their main source of food. A panda s diet consists of ninety percent bamboo and ten percent of mushrooms, insects, fish, plants and other small rodents. These bamboo forests are being taken from them, because the human population is constantly expanding and using their bamboo forests as land for growing crops or to build roads. Combined with the natural dying on bamboo and logging, these defenseless panda bears are forced to seek new areas and see whether or not there is a sufficient amount of bamboo for them to consume, although many of them fail to do so and end up dying of starvation instead. As of today, there are only twenty nine diminished and fragmented areas that have the appropriate habitat to support the remaining panda bears. China s pandas have been threatened with extinction, suffered from low birth rates, and have been ridiculed by human s interference with their habitat; now they are faced with another obstacle, starvation. The climate change over the years has brought the extinction rate of the pandas to rise at an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evolution of the Characters in The Color Purple The most important aspect of The Color Purple is the growth and maturity of each individual. There is a huge transition of many of the characters from the beginning to the end of the novel. This evolution of the characters is a recurring theme that runs throughout the novel and can be tracked by Celie s letters. The women struggle for freedom in a society where they are inferior to men. Towards the end of the novel one can sense the slow evolution towards the increasing empowerment of women. The strongest example of women s empowerment is Celie s character. She s a victim of racism, men, sexual roles, and social injustices. Celie begins the novel completely powerless, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of names throughout the novel is also a way to show the power roles between the characters. This can be seen by the fact that Celie is unable to call Mr. _______ by his first name, and in fact hardly even recognizes the name when Shug uses it. By not calling Mr. _______ by his first name Celie lacks any power over him and is forced into her role of a submissive wife. As time goes on Celie is finally able to break away from the coercion of her life and leave her husband. She starts her own business sewing pants, which is one way she indicates her freedom. This highlights the fact that she has gained more individuality and is willing to assert herself. She has now become able to recognize the importance of her existence. Celie proves this when she writes, I m pore, I m black, I may be ugly and can t cook, a voice say to everything listening. But I m here. • 4. Bonnie Steinbock On Infidelity In this essay, I will argue that Bonnie Steinbock suggesting that adultery could possibly be permissible is unacceptable because of the following reasons: betrayal and that you are making a commitment with someone. I will demonstrate that my thesis is correct by using the Kantianism theory. Then, I will explain Steinbock s argument. Next, I will explain my thinking for reason number one, and for reason number two on how it supports my argument. Following, I will address an objection and respond to that, and then conclude my argument. In the article, Steinbock suggests that infidelity could be acceptable under some situations. • 5. Impact Of Urbanization On Urban Areas 1.Urbanization deals with the number of people in urban places and also refers to the process of people moving to cities or other heavily settled places. The term urbanization also describes changes in social organization that happens as a consequence of heavily populated areas. Urbanization is a process. It is what happens when rural areas are changed into urban areas. According to Louis Wirth, the components of urbanization include size, density, and heterogeneity and these are the independent variables that create a distinct way of life called urbanism. (Palen, 2012) Urbanism refers to social patterns and behaviors associated with living in urban settings. (Palen, 2012) Urbanism is often seen as a consequence of urbanization. It deals with changes in values, mores, customs, and behaviors of a population. Urbanism is a response, both socially and behaviorally, to living in a particular urban area. Urbanism puts an emphasis on competition, achievement, superficiality, anonymity, independence and tangential relationships. (Palen, 2012) The study of urbanization deals with the urban area as a spatial, economic, and political body. (Palen, 2012) This is generally referred to by sociologists as a human ecological approach. This is because the study deals with how the ecology of the citydeveloped, especially with the relationships and dependence of organisms with their environment. • 6. Sociological Concepts In Disney Movie Pocahontas Concepts in Sociology There are five sociological concepts I am going to explain. And I will be using scenes from the Disney movie Pocahontas as examples. The five are: norms, role conflict, values, ethnocentrism and cultural relativism. The first concept I would like to talk about is norms. Norms are different rules, whether they are spoken or assumed, about which kinds of behaviors are acceptable in a culture and which ones aren t acceptable. As an example I would like to use the Disney movie Pocahontas. A clear example of a norm from this movie is the scene where Pocahontas has disobeyed her father by talking to the white man (aka John Smith). Disobedience was something you did not do in her village. The father was in charge of the family and the rest of the family was expected to listen. Another norm for her culture was to take care of the village and everyone in it. Their culture wasn t all about fun and adventure. They made sure their top priority was the life and ease of everyone in the village. Norms can also change. There is a scene where the chief, Powhatan, tells the village that no one is allowed ... For them the important things were to take care of their families. While the Governor of Virginia valued gold and power. The important thing for him was to get lots of money so he could go back to England and be rich and powerful. It s the same thing in the scene where Smith shows Pocahontas the piece of gold. • 7. Bowling For Columbine Essay As humans living in a modern sociological time period, the truth can be cleverly and ingeniously twisted by film directors to convince us that their sole opinions are factual. This is most definitely no exception regarding Academy Award winning filmmaker Michael Moore and his documentary Bowling for Columbine. Michael Moore explores the lead up to the Columbine massacre and more broadly, the proliferation of guns and rapidly growing homicide rate in America. Moore also investigates the reason as to why Canada, in comparison to America, does not have the same rate of gun related crimes. The alarming and disturbing tragedy befalling on April 20, 1999 at America s Columbine High School is an act reflecting the extraordinarily high rate of gun related violence of American society. ... One anonymous speaker announced that Marilyn Manson s music promoted what he called Columbine like behaviour, such as hate, violence, death, suicide, and drug use. The world is rightly outraged by Marilyn s music due to its prominent association with the Columbine High School massacre. A question that proficient critiques ask themselves is this: How do documentary directors purposely evoke certain emotions within their key scenes? It is clearly apparent that viewers are positioned to believe Moore s point of view due to his clever use of persuasive techniques. One major scene that has the tendency to evoke the emotions of carelessness and insensitiveness is the What a Wonderful World sequence. The astute decision to incorporate images of deceased and brutally incapacitated American s generates sympathy and ultimately results in the support of Michael Moore s viewpoint. • 8. The Evolution Of The Law Of Fresh Evidence Essay Case Law review: the evolution of the law of fresh evidence As mentioned at the outset, in 1923, the Dominion Parliament gave broad discretionary powers to Canadian appellate courts to receive any evidence it deemed necessary and in the interest of justice to decide the issues on appeal against both verdict and sentence. However, unlike the pragmatic approach of the British, the Canadian legislators did not provide statutory guidance to the judiciary on the parameters for the exercise of this new power. It was therefore left to judges and the courts to fashion common law principles and procedures for the admission of fresh evidence with respect to verdict appeals, appeals from sentence and to a lesser extent references by the Minister of Justice to Canadian appellate courts. Each is discussed in turn in the sections that follow. II.2.1Verdict appeals: incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence The slow but steady evolution in Canadian fresh evidence law in criminal and quasi criminal proceedings can best be classified into two distinct periods: the pre Palmer jurisprudence and the post Palmer developments. II.2.1 (i) Pre Palmer Jurisprudence: 1910 1980 There have been incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence prior to the definitive judgment in Palmer in 1980. In 1925, the British Columbia Court of Appeal was the first appellate court to apply the new powers enacted in 1923 to admit fresh evidence. Prior to these amendments, appellate courts could ... I felt that he should have waited to mention some things until there appropriate chapters. He repeated some information that had been previously mentioned in other chapters. I felt that the chronological order of the material is the way it should have been presented. Presenting it in a topical organization would have probably thrown the reader off course. Another drawback of FHA insured loans to some people is the requirement that borrowers must reside in the house and use it as their primary residence. The p53 protein has been described as the guardian of the genome (1) because of its role in preventing genetic mutation. It belongs to a protein family which includes p53, p63 and p73 and these are structurally and functionally related to each other. However, p53 seems to have evolved as a tumor suppressor in higher organisms, while p63 and p73 play a role in normal developmental biology (2). Structure of p53 P53 functions primarily as a transcription factor, and is biologically active as a homo tetramer comprising of 4 X 393 amino acid residues. Each monomer comprises of several functional domains: 1.An acidic N terminus transcription activating domain 1 and 2 (TAD1/2) This region interacts with various transcription factors 2.Proline rich region (PRR) This plays a role in p53 stability 3.Central DNA binding domain (DBD) required for binding to specific sites on the DNA. 4.Tetramerization domain (OD) required for the assembly of the functional tetramer. 5.Carboxyl terminus domain (CTD) which is bound to DNA binding domain and is involved in negative modulation of DNA binding domain. The central DNA binding domain is the most highly conserved region of p53, when compared to its other family members, p63 and p73. In contrast, if debris flows were thick and viscous, the grain size would have the more prominent impact on debris flows. As we can extract from figure 14, the absolute multipliers are both small for the liquidand solid phase that give rise to the barely perceptible influence on debris flow velocity. Nevertheless, the grain size has positive effect on liquid phase, while grain size has negative effect on solid phase hinge on the figure and the model. As comparing +(гЂ–2dгЂ—_e гЂ–(1 П†)гЂ—^2)/(3kПЃ_f ) the multiplier stands for liquid phase, and the (гЂ–2dгЂ—_e гЂ–(1 П†)гЂ—^2)/(3kПЃ_s ) the multiplier stands for solid phase, we can know that as density of liquid phase is smaller than solid phase (Guo et al., 2014), thereby the divisor for the liquid phase multiplier is smaller than that of the solid phase, so that the absolute number for multiplier of liquid phase is larger than solid phase. Likewise, as the liquid phase uses plus and solid phase uses minus, they explain the positive relationship or negative relationship between the velocity and the grain size. This may be backed up ... I knew very well about god at the time so despite me liking Greek mythology, actually believing it never crossed my mind. I will explain the overall difference between Gods sovereignty and that of Greek fatalism. If you so happen to be a Christian that knows about Greek mythology, then one thing stands out the most; there is only one god in Christianity besides there are several gods in Greek mythology. Zeus (the highest and most powerful god) created all gods in Greek mythology, as in our god that has been here since the beginning of time. Zeus is not a loving god. Zeus is more of a figure that plays with puppets in this huge play room, he s more of an image of power and greatness that wished to be worshiped at all times. Many years later, this trend would continue, and would continue to take up more time during any given hour of programming. For Comcast, it is estimated that advertising is their second highest revenue generating business, and it is believed that they are the biggest advertising company in the Nation, if not the world, when it comes to the amount of advertising inventory they manage and the revenue that is generated. The perception of unresolved non water related issues with one s neighbours, both water related and otherwise, is also an exacerbating factor in water conflicts. Israel, Syria, and Turkey, each and respectively have difficult political issues outstanding, which makes discussions on the Jordan and Euphrates more intricate. Relative development can inform the nature of water disputes in a number of ways. For example, a more developed region may have better options to alternative sources of water, or to different water managementschemes, than less developed regions, resulting in more options once negotiations begin. One interesting lack of correlation is also found in Mandel s study that between the number of disputants and intensity of conflict. He suggests that this challenges the common notion that the more limited, in terms of number of parties involved, river disputes are easier to resolve. Another surprising lack of correlation that we seem to be finding is, somewhat counter intuitively, that climate seems not to be a major variable in water disputes. This fact may be because water has multiple uses, but these uses vary in critical importance, depending on climatic conditions. The hydropower or transportation offered by a river in a humid climate is no less important to its riparians than is the irrigation water provided by a river in an arid zone. An important aspect of international water conflicts is how water is controlled within each of the countries involved. Whether control of the resource is vested at the national level, as in the Middle East, the state level, as in India, or at the sub state level, as in the United States, informs the complication of international dialog. Also, where control is vested institutionally is important. There are really three main points when looking at roller coasters the history, making, and thrill of the coaster. The history of roller coasters is as important as any other step because the architects learn from others mistakes and what they did right. The beginning of roller coasters started in Russia in the 1400 s when people would make hills with the snow and send there sleds down the hills. They would build would towers to get to the top of the hill. In the 1700 s they put wheels on the bottom of the sleds and would be able to go down artificial hills during the summer, they would also use different colored lanterns so they could ride at night. Unfortunately, many children never get the opportunity to discover the fulfillment that music can bring to their lives. They are denied this chance by an unfair educational system. Music education is beneficial to the student throughout his entire life, thus it should not be cast aside and neglected as it often is in the public school system today, but instead schools should do just the opposite; treat musiceducation as a priority. The evidence makes clear the benefits of playing a musical instrument on students abilities to perform academically. For example, the Harmony Project is an after school program that provides music lessons to children from underprivileged neighborhoods of California. Ninety three percent of seniors in the program have graduated from high school in four years and gone on to college. This is truly incredible when one considers that the communities where the program takes place have dropout rates of over 50% (Turner). One explanation for this significant improvement is the direct impact playing music has on the students brains. A study conducted by Nina Kraus, a neurobiologist at Northwestern University, demonstrates this impact. By running tests on the program s members, Kraus data suggests students who had studied music for two years were better at processing speech than those who had been in the program for only one year (Turner). ... To illustrate, when Mexico City held the Olympiads, the government promised that the facilities were investments meant for the citizens to give them the opportunity to practice sports with the best resources. • 45. My Meme Speech For as long as I can remember, My Meme has been one of the most intelligent and godly people I know. She and my Pawpaw helped my single mother raise me and my two sisters. They played a huge part in turning me into the person I am today. Whether it was something that you needed to know or when you were feeling down, Meme was there. She was a librarian and a teacher for decades and everyone of her former students I ve met talk about how she was their favorite. Meme was also the first to send out birthday or get well letters to members of our church, friends, and family. A few years ago, she started to act a little strange and ditzy. At first we just thought she was getting goofy in her old age, but as time went on, things got worse. At first, she stopped recognizing little things like food being spoiled or the smell of gas. One day, I came into Meme and Pawpaw s house and the air reeked of gas. Meme had unknowingly left the gas stove on, unlit. I turned it off and cleared the air by opening up some doors and windows. Soon we began to recognize that Meme was showing signs of Alzheimers. Eventually we couldn t have candles in the house and we had to take the keys to Meme s car. My Pawpaw s sight physical condition wouldn t allow him to drive, but my Meme couldn t understand why we wouldn t let her. Before we took them, we would find her driving aimlessly around town or circling the high school, looking for the post office. Then three years ago, on the morning of August 23rd, my step dad Larry came into my room and woke me up. Pawpaw had passed away in his sleep. The world stopped spinning, but my head went reeling as I sat in my bed, surrounded by the darkness of the room. He was the best man I ever knew and his death broke the hearts of so many. However, the one person who would have been affected the most by his death couldn t quite grasp the concept of it. When the funeral home gave us the box of Pawpaw s ashes for a service, it peaked her curiosity. After she finally made us explain to her that Pawpaw s remains were in the box, she said Where s the rest of him? I bet they cut his legs off! . Meme eventually recognized that Pawpaw was gone and he isn t coming back. But even in her fractured mental state, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He said, O you who bear no punishment at all (I can t think why) within this world of sorrow, he said to us, pause here and look upon the misery of one Master Adamo: in life I had all that I could desire, and now, alas, I crave a drop of water.
