The Great Dictator s Speech Analysis
Since we cannot change reality, let us change the eyes which see reality. Nikos Kazantzakis. Lots of
people see reality there own ways as a result there has been lots of problems in society. People may
have have awarded society if not in speeches than in social media. Now that most people have phones
there is such a thing as social media. People have made us change our perspective about reality by
giving speeches. A whisper of Aids by Mary Fisher, Great Society by Lyndon Johnson, The Great
Dictator s speech by Charlie Chaplin all have their perspective about the change in society.
A Whisper of Aids can show that society can have problems speaking up and admitting there
problems. She states that all things there is a purpose by that society may be for a purpose and a
reason it s happening. Now there s social media that may of change us but that can be fix later on.

Abdul Kalam
President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Dreams float on an impatient wind, A wind that wants to create a new order. An order of strength and
thundering of fire. from a poem written by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India s missile program. He has breathed life into
ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India s missile
range. It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam s achievements to date. In the 60s and 70s he was
a trail blazer in the space department. In the 80s he transformed the moribund Defence Research and
Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team. By the 90s Kalam emerged as
the czar of Indian science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After that, he undertook a preliminary design study on Human Centrifuge. He designed and developed
a vertical takeoff and landing platform, and Hot Cockpit. Three years later, the Aeronautical
Development Establishment(ADE) was formed in Bangalore and he was posted there.
At ADE, Kalam served as a senior scientific assistant, heading a small team that developed a
prototype hovercraft. Defence Minister Krishna Menon rode in India s first indigenous hovercraft with
Kalam at the controls. But for reasons never explained, the project which would have been a
considerable international achievement in those days, was not encouraged. This was probably one of
the reasons why he moved out of ADE in 1962 and joined India s space program.
During 1963 82, he served the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) in various capacities. Here
Kalam initiated Fibre Reinforced Plastics(FRP) activities, then after a stint with the aerodynamics and
design group, he joined the satellite launch vehicle team at Thumba, near Trivandram and soon
became Project Director for SLV 3. As Project Director, he was responsible for carrying out the
design, development, qualification and flight testing of 44 major sub systems. The project managed to
put Rohini, a scientific satellite, into orbit in July 1980. He was honoured with a Padma Bhushan in

The At Ft Sill, Oklahoma From Florida
There are very unique jobs that lead people to having different life experiences their first day or week
on the job. Joining the military for me was a very interesting last minute plan since such though had
never crossed my mind. When the time to leave home arrived, I felt like it was all a dream, as if I had
lived in a cloud for a few months. There were a lot of thoughts running through my head when as the
bus was approaching the military installation I would be calling home for the next few months. The
most important thing I remember doing when I got to basic training was to listen to every single little
detail of instruction that was given, and following instructions all the way to the period. There were a
lot of diverse things I learned the first week of basic training such as; military values, self confidence,
to be physically and mentally strong, educational programs, and learning about programs to buy
property. To begin with, arriving at Ft Sill, Oklahoma from Florida was a drastic change in cold
weather, elevation, and environment. Welcome to the US Army, privates , I remember the Drill
Sergeants saying with smirks on their faces. Everything went from being peaceful and calm, to sudden
screams, and rushing as if the world was about to come to an end. We were escorted out of the bus
with eyes watching us from every single angle. As soon as everyone lined up, we had to unpack our
bags and throw every belonging on the floor in order to be checked. The next day, an

Ladies Golf Research Paper
Initially, ladies golf apparel was designed for comfort and adaptability on the greens. Although it is
still a necessity and advantage to a great game, in the most part, ladies golf apparel has evolved into a
fashion statement that personifies the sense of a fashionable enigmatic woman.
Many of us take fashion for granted; not looking beyond the fabric and versatile benefits for the sport.
It has become apparent how fashion can promote the game and ladies golf apparel shows just how
encouraging a fashion statement can be.
We ve become more knowledgeable about clothing and the effects of a woman s look. Bella Golf

Back in the days, Monogramming represented the sign of wealth and authority one possessed. Nothing
has really changed; we still identify monogrammed items with exclusivity and upscale attire. It
denotes luxury and can define our level of fashion sense.
Wearing a monogrammed garment or accessory is a great opportunity to express one s identity and
give a personalized feeling to the owner. Many lady golfers take this suggestion and monogram their
golf apparel and accessories. It shows style and elegance and makes a bold statement.
Where golf was thought of only as an affluent sport it has transformed with celebrity names and the
hype from the LPGA; now more women have become interested in the sport from all walks of life. It s
no longer a sport only for the wealthy and fashion has become an all too important dress code for the
game.
On the greens, golfers are all bonded by their own dress code but that has not stopped any lady golfers
from being fashionable and classy and standing out amongst the crowd. The ladies golf apparel makes
a bold striking statement on golf courses that cannot be

Theme Of A Mother In A Refugee Camp By Chinua Achebe
In the poem, A Mother in A Refugee Camp Chinua Achebe conveys the close relationship between a
mother and a son. Achebe starts with the imagery of the famous painting of Madonna and Child by
Duccio di Buoninsegna. The painting symbolizes Madonna as Mary, who is seen as the mother of
Jesus here because in the bible her character is seen to be lovely and every parent child relationship is
just like that of Mary and Jesus, tender and caring. This is emphasized in the second line of this
stanza, Her tenderness for ... have to forget , the two contrasting words tenderness showing how she

The poet talks about how he taught me /that telling the truth/did not always mean a beating , this may
suggest that her father was a genuine man who tried to help her become the nice person he wants her
to be by teaching her the morals. The verb grieved in this stanza could imply how she had
disappointed him by revealing many of her truths . This sudden contrast in the same stanza tells us
how she remembers his teachings more when she thinks about all the mistakes she has done
throughout her life and how she might have hurt his feelings. It could also link to death and how she
feels more upset about not spending the most time with him, before her father passed away. The poet
also mentions the memories she had of him dancing/in a yoga meditation... informing the reader how
she genuinely misses her father s presence a lot through the use of simple language in the stanza. The
closeness between the poet and the father is constantly reminded by the past fun memories the poet
talks about and describes her father as a simple, good human who taught her to always be generous :

Description Of A Man s Voice
We sat on a cheap wooden bench in the security room in the back of Lord and Taylor, our bags lay on
their sides, the contents spilled across the concrete floor. Little white tags hung from the fabric, a few
seams were noticeably ripped along the side ribbing of the clothing. Computer screens encompassed
the room, the surveillance footage rotated intermittently from Camera 1 to Camera 2 to Dressing
Room Camera. The man s voice was barely audible through the wall behind me, as he called my
parents and the authorities. He came back into the room with the woman who had grabbed my arm as
I exited the department store, announcing that the price for all of the products I had stolen totaled to
approximately $1,300 though he hadn t calculated in the damages of the torn clothing where the
security buttons were ripped out. My best friend, better known as my fellow thief, called her mom to
retrieve us. I used the thick silence of that car ride to prepare something mitigating to say to my
mother. When I delicately, respectfully, quietly entered the foyer, my mom sat waiting, drilling me
with questions. As I entered the foyer, my mom, who had been undoubtedly stewing in her own
thoughts as she awaited my arrival, drilled me with questions. Why would you do this? Because it s
fun. Who made you do this? As if I can t make my own decisions and fuck up my life on my own.
How long has this been going on? I told her once before but in reality it had been going on for a while.
WHY? Why not?

African American Culture In Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man
American culture had already dominated across the nation by the 1930 s; however, the cherished
traditions of African Americans also began to flourish through the development of their remarkable
presence in the city of Harlem, New York. Ralph Ellison utilizes his perspective on this rise of African
American culture to depict American society during this era, in his 1952 novel, The Invisible Man. His
view on the time is comprised of the prejudice actions against African Americans and the prevalence
of segregation between blacks and whites. Subsequently, Ellison depicts the effects of these actions in
the African American society of Harlem, New York through symbolic features, in order to display how
black stereotypes were a part of the mindset of the typical white American.
Initially, Ellison uses the sambo doll to symbolize these black stereotypes and constant degrading
power of prejudice among the African American societies in the Unites States during the 1930 s. The
sambo doll is mentioned in the instance in which the narrator is looking at a items being sold by a man
he knows, Clifton. Until he takes a closer look at the doll, he doesn t realize its intended purpose and
listens to the seller say, shake him, shake him, you cannot break him For he s Sambo, the dancing,
Sambo, the prancing, Sambo, the entrancing, Sambo Boogie Woogie paper doll. And all for twenty
five cents, the quarter part of a dollar... Ladies and gentlemen, he ll bring you joy, step up and meet
him, Sambo the... (Ellison 358). Through this symbol, Ellison shows how African Americans are just
like puppet dolls used to entertain others, but can be controlled in one way or another, as they are
essentially powerless compared to the whites. The term sambo , in specific, is used as a degrading
term towards African American individuals since the time of slavery, so its reuse during this era gives
the term an even more disheartening connotation. Even today, the use of Sambo Art is a dominant
style of memorabilia in Harvard s Image of the Black in Western Art Archive . This archive contains
around 26,000 images of the blacks in western times; however, gives off a racist impression as the
images they are a part of, are lower quality forms of art

Pastoral Caution
pastoral preacher must not only be attuned to his congregation, but he must be attuned to the world as
well. He must know how to make the Bible relevant. Studying society and the culture can do this.
Caution should be taken in the endeavor so that he does not become enticed by the world s lies. 2. The
key components of effective pastoral preaching have been derived from my person study of the
content, concepts, and resources in presented in this course. The first component would be a sense of
one call. One must know for sure that the Lord has called them unto salvation and also to preach. The

2.4 Column Store Model
In this model, data is stored in sections of columns instead of rows. This is almost an inverse of a
relational model. The names of the column need not be predefined, i.e. the structure isn t fixed, which
helps in great scalability and performance. Columns in a row are stored in order according to their
keys. A super column also might be used which is nothing but a column containing nested sub
columns.

Essay On Energy Recovery
Energy Recovery
Anaerobic treatment gives a high potential of energy recovery from wastewater in form of biogas. The
effluent can also serve industrial heating and cooling purposes. Wastewater has a huge potential of
electricity generation. Technologies exist for on site energy recovery through sludge/biosolids
treatment processes integrated in wastewater treatment plants, allowing for transition from major
energy consumers to energy producers.
Strict standards for discharge often require energy intensive advanced treatment technologies. As a
result, the number of plants using advanced treatment has increased [17]. Rising energy costs and
concerns about greenhouse gas generation present a major incentive for tracking energy usage of ...

Biogas is a mixture essentially comprising mostly methane (CH4, around 55 75%) but also contains
carbon dioxide (CO2, around 25 30%), varying quantities of water (H2O) and hydrogen sulphide
(H2S). The thermal energy available from the methane contained in biogas is about 6 to 8 kWh/m3.
This corresponds to half a litre of diesel oil and 5.5 kg of firewood [21].
4.2 Microbial Fuel Cell Technology
Wastewater treatment is an energy intensive process, consuming about 1,900 kJ/m3 of treated
wastewater [22]. Wastewater contains almost 9 times more energy than the energy used to treat an
equivalent volume, thus creating the need to harness this energy through the use of a Microbial Fuel
Cell (MFC) [22]. Microbial Fuel cell (MFC) is a device designed for electricity generation in the
process of wastewater treatment [23]. Microbial fuel cell is a new form of renewable energy, which
uses bacteria in wastewater to convert organic matter into electricity, while simultaneously treating the
wastewater. MFCs can provide an answer to several of the problems which traditional wastewater
treatment faces. They enable the recovery of energy out of the wastewater, while limiting both the
energy input and the excess sludge production [24].
5.0 Nutrient recovery
Wastewater nutrients are resources that can generate revenues for treatment plants while helping meet
environmental regulations. Wastewater and municipal sludge, can be a reliable source of nutrients, in

Substance abuse is a tragedy that touches many lives. Abuse begins with a single use event that, with
continued use and overindulgence, transforms into a battle. The abuser most always loses that battle.
Personal relationships, social ties, and employment suffers. Irresponsible and erratic behavior becomes
the norm, and though the abuser is aware on some level of the reckless and thoughtless acts that they

all the way to the fourth century? For example, the economic collapse of Rome in the fourth century.
The problem that Rome suffered from with was an issue with their currency, gold coins, which
contained more gold than was labeled. This caused rapid inflation because the citizens melted the
coins to make a profit by selling the raw gold at a higher price. Another example is the economic

withdrawing, in order to pay back the people s money. If a bank fails to return people s money, they
are forced to shut down. Now you may wonder why people are so scared of losing their money in a
bank during an economical downfall. It is because the rest of the people who kept their money in the
bank when it shut down only receive back up to 250,000 dollars if the bank is FDIC secured, which
most banks are. Thus, if you have 900,000 dollars in your savings account and your bank shuts down,
you will receive less than a third of your money. A financial crisis also leads the decline of

How and to What Extent Did War and Violence Contribute to...
How and to what extent did war and violence contribute to the definition of chivalry as both an
historical and social phenomenon?
It is largely acknowledged by historians that, while it is difficult to be definitive in the meaning of
chivalry with Maurice Keen believing it to be a word elusive of definition it came to denote the
culture of a martial estate which regarded war as its hereditary profession . Thus, it could be
considered that the violence of war had large implications on what people began to perceive to be
chivalry. Additionally, the focus on violence such as the participating in tournaments and jousts further
emphasises the close link between carrying out violent acts and the idea that a knight was being
chivalrous. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The historian Richard Kaeuper notes that prowess being crucial to honor may have contributed as
much to the problem of violence as it provided a solution . Therefore, this appears to convey why the
concept of chivalry began to be associated with violence and warfare as knights, in the pursuit of
honor, became reliant on violence and battle to prove their aptitude. This idea is supported by a
medieval knight Sir John Chandos, who stated that men brought up for martial calling cannot live
without war and do not know how to . Maurice Keen argues that chivalry was quintessentially
bellicose as it presented those who fought has having a pinnacle of honor . As a result, the use of force
by knights as a way of denoting their gallantry led to the belief that violence was intrinsic to the notion
of chivalry.
Furthermore, within the medieval period there was the development of certain traditions and rewards
associated with the concept of chivalry. The partaking in tournaments and jousting is argued by Keen
to have been a step on the scale of chivalrous perfection . In these activities acts of violence were
glorified and those who were successful were rewarded, thus endorsing and entrenching the belief that
violence and success in war were the main premises on which chivalry was based. The extent to which
violence contributed to what came to define chivalry is

Why Are Gun Control Important
How Much Gun Control Do We Need? The gun control debate has grown more heated than ever after
the February 14th school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The question on everyone s minds is, does America still need the second amendment? The answer
may be yes, but it needs to be more restrictive than it is now. For example, one can buy an assault rifle
when they are 18 but cannot drink or buy a handgun until they are 21 years old. Why can someone be
able to buy an AR 15 when they are considered not mentally ready to consume alcohol? Why are
ordinary citizens allowed to buy an assault rifle at all? Gun control should be more restrictive because
studies have proven that America is far more prone to gun violence, which is most likely caused by
Americans having an excess of firearms. However, the background check is not necessary. ... Show

the government needs to make the background checks stronger. Those with mental illnesses are
actually less predisposed to violence than neurotypical people. Only 20% of 235 massacres were
found to have been carried out by mentally ill people (Stone, 77) and 4% of all violence recorded in a
year was carried out by people with more serious mental disorders (Swanson et al. 368); so, not only
does this process not work, it s useless as well. It stigmatizes mentally ill people and associates them

Alfred Lord Tennyson s The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Poetry and the Changing Perceptions of Warfare (1854 1918)
Alfred, Lord Tennyson s The Charge of the Light Brigade Alfred Tennyson (1809 1892) became poet
laureate of the British empire in 1850. This meant he had to write important poems about events that
affected the British empire. He held this post until his death in 1892, making him Britain s longest
ever serving laureate. The Crimean War was fought between Britain and Imperial Russia from 1853
1856. The most significant moment in this campaign occurred in 1854, during the Battle of Balaclava.
An order given to the British Light Brigade was misunderstood and 600 cavalrymen ended charging
down a narrow valley straight into the fire of Russian cannons. Almost half of the British soldiers
were killed or wounded. According to his grandson Sir Charles Tennyson, Lord Tennyson wrote the
poem in only a few minutes after reading an account of the battle in The Times. As poet laureate he
often wrote verses about public events. It immediately became hugely popular, even reaching the
troops in the Crimea, where it was distributed in pamphlet form.
Analysis of Charge of the Light Brigade Charge is a ballad, meant to commemorate not only the
charge, but also to recognize the virtues that made such a heroic event possible. The poem was written

Forced Marriage Act 1961 (Cth)
According to section 5 of the Marriage Act 1961 (Cth) marriage can be defined as ...the union of a
man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life. (AustiLII, n.d.).
However, there are also forms of illegal marriage such as forced marriage. Filed under section 270.7A
of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth), forced marriage can be defined as an illegal marriage whereby
the victim entered into the marriage without freely and fully consenting usually due to the use of
coercion, threat or deception or because the victim was mentally incapable of understanding the nature
and effect of the marriage ceremony (Office of Parliamentary Counsel, 2015).

This means that more can be done to assist in decreasing the amount of forced marriages in Australia.
One way is to educate students, teachers and religious figures who are able to conduct marriages about
forced marriage and its impacts. By educating people, there is a lesser risk of victims of forced
marriage suffering silently and there is also a higher chance of detecting forced marriage victims
amongst both school and religious communities. Religious figures, such as priests and imams, will
also be able to understand the consequences of conducting a forced marriage and will also aid in
preventing it.
Another recommendation which will benefit stakeholders is to alter the Marriage Act 1961 (Cth) to
ensure that minors should be able to consent to a marriage along with their parents and in the presence
of an authority figure such as a lawyer or a police officer. If this change is implemented then there is a
lesser risk of a minor being forcefully married as there is an authority figure present and they would
feel less pressured to succumb to the

Apologetics Definition
Apologetics In definition, Apologetics is to argue, or better said, justify your beliefs. Typically, it
follows up with religious topics that people, for whatever reason, feel the need to scuffle over what
they believe to be right or wrong. As we all know, religion has been the main topic in most fights for
eons and has yet to even falter over time. From observations, I ve noticed that individuals tend to get
rather heated over the subject, and have even been known to cause harm to one another if so inclined
to do so. Personally, I don t believe Apologetics is necessary under most circumstances. If one feels so
powerless in their faith to have to fight about it, they probably shouldn t bother having one at all. This
comes to the main question

William M. Tweed was head of the great dramas of the postbellum period, Tweed Ring. The group
was composed of Tweed, Oakey Hall, Richard Connolly , and Peter Sweeny, among other people.
Historians believe that between the 1860s and early 1870s the Tweed Ring defrauded the City of New
York from anywhere between $50 million or $940 million in today s money and $100 million which is
$1.8 billion in today s standards. When The Ring collapsed short after it was found to be corrupt it
sent a shockwave across the country and especially the region. The scandal affected nearly all of New

Analysis Of saturn His Son, At The Museum Of El Prado...
I first saw this painting, Saturn Devouring His Son, at the Museum of El Prado alongside the other
Black Paintings. My initial reaction was of fear. These are artworks that should not be simply seen in
front of a computer screen. The thickness of the paint and the careful attention to details; these are
things that are missed if not seen in person. Upon walking into the small room the first painting that
draws the attention of visitors is this painting. Not only is this a grotesque piece in an otherwise
frightening room, Saturn also looks like he s rather enjoying this action, and his intense glare from his
bulging eyes gives the impression as if you (the viewer) are the next target. The goal for this essay is
to show Goya s way of depicting events that have affected not only society but him personally.
It is a mythological subject that literally shows Saturn devouring his son. Light is very important as it
focuses directly on the face of Saturn and the body of his son. It is a blinding light that leaves the dark
background with a feeling of gloominess. The composition revolves around a single plane in which
Saturn is placed devouring his victim. The dark background marks the sense of depth. Violent motion
appreciates both his posture, and his mouth. His face reflects an expression of drama and tenebrism.
The predominant color on the drawing emphasizes the dark tones that contrast with the clarity of the
body of the victim. His deformity produces more drama in the scene.

Comparing Dante Alighieri s Inferno And The Faerie Queene
Both Dante Alighieri s Inferno and Edmund Spenser s The Faerie Queene depict wooded forests
wrought with transformed men as trees. In the Inferno and The Faerie Queene an existential
conundrum of compromised identities leaves Pier della Vigne and Fraudubio sans human choice.
Dehumanized and disfigured, the individuals that comprise the trees still retain human qualities like
talking, breathing, and, even, bleeding under certain circumstances. Within each space, whether it is
considered a definite locus amoenus or a locus horribilis, the most significant human attribute to
which these trees cling is bleeding and thus they have a small handful of feelings and emotions still
within each of them. Instead of their ripped branches symbolizing death and decay, the breaking of the
branches within Inferno 13 and The Faerie Queene 1.2, give the trees life as if nothing has changed.
While the bleeding infers a loss of identity in both, redeemable only for one of the two, it also lets
their stories be told. Their stories, sad in nature, have redemptive qualities and move the two pilgrims
that listen to their doleful tales. The Inferno illustrates the journey of Dante the pilgrim as he travels
through the nine circles of Hell wherein each circle objectifies a specific sin like lust, gluttony, greed
or violence; there the sinners endure eternal punishment. In the seventh circle, the circle of violence,
Dante interacts with the suicides and profligates. Condemned to live eternally as

The Role Of The Dublin Lockout Of 1913
James Larkin, the leader of the Irish Trade Union and the founder of the Irish Transport and General
Workers Union once said The employers cannot carry on industry nor accumulate profits if they have
not got the good will of the workers or their acquiescence in carrying on such industry. In 1911, over
300,000 people lived in Dublin. The unemployment rates were high and the average labourers wage
was around one pound a week, and that was only if they had a full week of work. Living conditions
were equally as inadequate as the working wages. Lydia Carroll and Enda Leaney found in a housing
enquiry that 87,305 people lived in poverty, almost a third of Dublin s population. 80% of families
lived in one room dwellings. According to the Public Health Report of 1913, 8,639 deaths were
recorded, 1,444 were from tuberculosis and 4,642 were from nervous, circulatory, respiratory, and
digestive diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia due to inadequate sanitary and nutrition.(Devine,
pg 3 4) These conditions sparked many protests as workers became desperate. James Larkin became a
renowned figure of the movement toward a better Ireland for the labourers. This essay will discuss the

Full Force And Effect Analysis
Theme The theme of Full Force and Effect by Tom Clancy is to never give up. One example that
helped identify this lesson is when Colin was about to surrender because he was very tired but ended
up continuing to run away so the documents wouldn t fall into the wrong hands (27). Another example
is when Jack Ryan Jr. wanted to cancel an operation in North Korea because it was too hard on him,
but he continued it and discovered valuable information. Lastly, another case of this moral is when
Gavin was trying to hack into the database of the mining company in North Korea. He spent all day

database of the employees. Other texts with the same theme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

a boring and pointless mission (11). This proves that the narrator is all knowing thus this book is told

Tone And Mood The mood of Full Force and Effect by Tom Clancy is exciting. Constant action
packed scenes makes one not want to put the book down. For example on page 62, Clark s head shook
as the grenade exploded right around the corner. The tone is very serious, factual, and forthright. For
instance on page 91, Runs fired left and right, Jack had no idea what had just happened. The violent
scenes fits very well with the literal scenes thus making the tone very grave.

Nuclear Weapons In Brazil Research Paper
Delegation from the Federative Republic Of Brazil Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous weapons
on earth. One can destroy a whole city, potentially killing millions, and jeopardizing the natural
environment and lives of future generations through its long term catastrophic effects. The dangers
from such weapons arise from their very existence. Although nuclear weapons have only been used
twice in warfare in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 about 22,000 reportedly remain
in our world today and there have been over 2,000 nuclear tests conducted to date. Demobilization is
the best protection against such dangers, but achieving this goal has been a extremely difficult

Killer Bees Essay
The Africanized Honey Bee is actually a variety of honeybee derived by hybridization from African
honeybees naturalized in the western hemisphere. Because they are highly defensive and will attack
perceived intruders more readily than the common European honeybee, they are also known by the
popular name of killer bees.
Brazilian scientists imported African honeybee queens in the 1950 s in order to breed a honeybee for
use in tropical climates. Some swarms escaped into the wild. Because they were highly adapted for
tropical survival and had no natural competitors, they thrived and spread rapidly through South
America, extending their range by as much as 500 km (300 mi) per year. By the 1980s, Africanized ...

The businesses of many beekeepers in Latin American countries have failed as a result of
Africanization of the native hives. Africanized honey bees are not expected to have the same impact in
the United States because of advanced beekeeping technology and climatic limitations on the spread
of the species. Africanization of beehives can be prevented by the annual introduction of new
European queens to each colony. Africanized honeybees have increased the number of human deaths
due to bee stings in Mexico and Argentina and probably in other countries. In the United States,
however, although more people have been stung by bees since 1990, no more bee related deaths than
usual have been recorded.
Conclusions:
The idea of killer bees is one that is created more by the media and misinformation than actual fact.
Killer bees rarely if ever kill a victim. In addition, a killer bee scare in the United States would be
completely unfounded and unnecessary. General precautions that are usually taken with the
domesticated honeybee will suffice in protecting oneself against the Africanized honeybee. The
Africanized honeybee has, for the most part, reached a climatic limitation in the United States and will
not pose a threat to the northern areas of the country. The effect of Africanized honeybees to the
United States is small. Advanced bee keeping methods, precautions, and medical technology negate

Robert Browning s Dramatic Monologue
Robert Browning was a brilliant writer. The Longman Anthology of British Literature says, More than
any other nineteenth century figure, Browning shaped the poetry of the twentieth, influencing British
and American poets from, Hardy and Yeats to Elliot, Pound, Frost, Lowell, and Stevens (1322). One of
Robert Browning s specialties was dramatic monologues. In his dramatic monologues, Browning
develops his characters really well. Throughout the monologue Browning shows the true character of
the person by not only what the character is speaking, but also by idiomatic language, patterns of
imagery, speech rhythms, and unintended ironies (The Longman Anthology of British Literature,
1323). A good example of one of Browning s dramatic monologues is The Bishop Orders His Tomb at
Saint Praxed s Church. In this monologue the main character is a Bishop who is trying to order a very
extravagant tomb for himself. Browning did such an excellent job at the Bishop s character
development that John Ruskin said that there is not any other writing that portrays the Renaissance
spirit its worldliness, inconsistency pride, hypocrisy, ignorance of itself, love of art, of luxury, and of
good Latin (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1332). Browning portrayed this in only
one hundred and twenty five lines, which shows the brilliance of Robert s writing. The Renaissance
was full of a love of luxury. People wanted to have the best of the best. Robert definitely portrayed

An order of strength and thundering of fire. from a poem written by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India s missile program. He has breathed life into ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India s missile range. It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam s achievements to date. In the 60s and 70s he was a trail blazer in the space department. In the 80s he transformed the moribund Defence Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team. By the 90s Kalam emerged as the czar of Indian science and ... Three years later, the Aeronautical Development Establishment(ADE) was formed in Bangalore and he was posted there. At ADE, Kalam served as a senior scientific assistant, heading a small team that developed a prototype hovercraft. Defence Minister Krishna Menon rode in India s first indigenous hovercraft with Kalam at the controls. But for reasons never explained, the project which would have been a considerable international achievement in those days, was not encouraged. This was probably one of the reasons why he moved out of ADE in 1962 and joined India s space program. During 1963 82, he served the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) in various capacities. Here Kalam initiated Fibre Reinforced Plastics(FRP) activities, then after a stint with the aerodynamics and design group, he joined the satellite launch vehicle team at Thumba, near Trivandram and soon became Project Director for SLV 3. As Project Director, he was responsible for carrying out the design, development, qualification and flight testing of 44 major sub systems. • 5. The At Ft Sill, Oklahoma From Florida There are very unique jobs that lead people to having different life experiences their first day or week on the job. Joining the military for me was a very interesting last minute plan since such though had never crossed my mind. When the time to leave home arrived, I felt like it was all a dream, as if I had lived in a cloud for a few months. There were a lot of thoughts running through my head when as the bus was approaching the military installation I would be calling home for the next few months. The most important thing I remember doing when I got to basic training was to listen to every single little detail of instruction that was given, and following instructions all the way to the period. There were a lot of diverse things I learned the first week of basic training such as; military values, self confidence, to be physically and mentally strong, educational programs, and learning about programs to buy property. To begin with, arriving at Ft Sill, Oklahoma from Florida was a drastic change in cold weather, elevation, and environment. Welcome to the US Army, privates , I remember the Drill Sergeants saying with smirks on their faces. Everything went from being peaceful and calm, to sudden screams, and rushing as if the world was about to come to an end. We were escorted out of the bus with eyes watching us from every single angle. As soon as everyone lined up, we had to unpack our bags and throw every belonging on the floor in order to be checked. Back in the days, Monogramming represented the sign of wealth and authority one possessed. Nothing has really changed; we still identify monogrammed items with exclusivity and upscale attire. Many lady golfers take this suggestion and monogram their golf apparel and accessories. It shows style and elegance and makes a bold statement. • 7. Theme Of A Mother In A Refugee Camp By Chinua Achebe In the poem, A Mother in A Refugee Camp Chinua Achebe conveys the close relationship between a mother and a son. Achebe starts with the imagery of the famous painting of Madonna and Child by Duccio di Buoninsegna. The painting symbolizes Madonna as Mary, who is seen as the mother of Jesus here because in the bible her character is seen to be lovely and every parent child relationship is just like that of Mary and Jesus, tender and caring. The poet talks about how he taught me /that telling the truth/did not always mean a beating , this may suggest that her father was a genuine man who tried to help her become the nice person he wants her to be by teaching her the morals. The verb grieved in this stanza could imply how she had disappointed him by revealing many of her truths . This sudden contrast in the same stanza tells us how she remembers his teachings more when she thinks about all the mistakes she has done throughout her life and how she might have hurt his feelings. • 8. Description Of A Man s Voice We sat on a cheap wooden bench in the security room in the back of Lord and Taylor, our bags lay on their sides, the contents spilled across the concrete floor. Little white tags hung from the fabric, a few seams were noticeably ripped along the side ribbing of the clothing. Computer screens encompassed the room, the surveillance footage rotated intermittently from Camera 1 to Camera 2 to Dressing Room Camera. The man s voice was barely audible through the wall behind me, as he called my parents and the authorities. He came back into the room with the woman who had grabbed my arm as I exited the department store, announcing that the price for all of the products I had stolen totaled to approximately $1,300 though he hadn t calculated in the damages of the torn clothing where the security buttons were ripped out. My best friend, better known as my fellow thief, called her mom to retrieve us. I used the thick silence of that car ride to prepare something mitigating to say to my mother. When I delicately, respectfully, quietly entered the foyer, my mom sat waiting, drilling me with questions. As I entered the foyer, my mom, who had been undoubtedly stewing in her own thoughts as she awaited my arrival, drilled me with questions. Why would you do this? Because it s fun. Who made you do this? As if I can t make my own decisions and fuck up my life on my own. How long has this been going on? I told her once before but in reality it had been going on for a while. WHY? Why not? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. African American Culture In Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man American culture had already dominated across the nation by the 1930 s; however, the cherished traditions of African Americans also began to flourish through the development of their remarkable presence in the city of Harlem, New York. Ralph Ellison utilizes his perspective on this rise of African American culture to depict American society during this era, in his 1952 novel, The Invisible Man. His view on the time is comprised of the prejudice actions against African Americans and the prevalence of segregation between blacks and whites. Subsequently, Ellison depicts the effects of these actions in the African American society of Harlem, New York through symbolic features, in order to display how black stereotypes were a part of the mindset of the typical white American. Initially, Ellison uses the sambo doll to symbolize these black stereotypes and constant degrading power of prejudice among the African American societies in the Unites States during the 1930 s. The sambo doll is mentioned in the instance in which the narrator is looking at a items being sold by a man he knows, Clifton. Until he takes a closer look at the doll, he doesn t realize its intended purpose and listens to the seller say, shake him, shake him, you cannot break him For he s Sambo, the dancing, Sambo, the prancing, Sambo, the entrancing, Sambo Boogie Woogie paper doll. And all for twenty five cents, the quarter part of a dollar... Ladies and gentlemen, he ll bring you joy, step up and meet him, Sambo the... (Ellison 358). Through this symbol, Ellison shows how African Americans are just like puppet dolls used to entertain others, but can be controlled in one way or another, as they are essentially powerless compared to the whites. The term sambo , in specific, is used as a degrading term towards African American individuals since the time of slavery, so its reuse during this era gives the term an even more disheartening connotation. Even today, the use of Sambo Art is a dominant style of memorabilia in Harvard s Image of the Black in Western Art Archive . This archive contains around 26,000 images of the blacks in western times; however, gives off a racist impression as the images they are a part of, are lower quality forms of art ... A financial crisis that lasts two or more quarters is called a recession, while a longer or more severe recession is called a depression. One of the biggest impacts of a financial crisis are aimed at banks. During a financial crisis, people withdraw their money from banks due to their fear that the banks will lose their money. This is bad news for the banks for the obvious reason that they are losing money. If all goes bad and the banks use up all of their reserve money, they would have no choice but to liquidate their assets and file for loans once too many people start withdrawing, in order to pay back the people s money. If a bank fails to return people s money, they are forced to shut down. Now you may wonder why people are so scared of losing their money in a bank during an economical downfall. It is because the rest of the people who kept their money in the bank when it shut down only receive back up to 250,000 dollars if the bank is FDIC secured, which most banks are. It is largely acknowledged by historians that, while it is difficult to be definitive in the meaning of chivalry with Maurice Keen believing it to be a word elusive of definition it came to denote the culture of a martial estate which regarded war as its hereditary profession . Thus, it could be considered that the violence of war had large implications on what people began to perceive to be chivalry. Additionally, the focus on violence such as the participating in tournaments and jousts further emphasises the close link between carrying out violent acts and the idea that a knight was being chivalrous. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The historian Richard Kaeuper notes that prowess being crucial to honor may have contributed as much to the problem of violence as it provided a solution . Therefore, this appears to convey why the concept of chivalry began to be associated with violence and warfare as knights, in the pursuit of honor, became reliant on violence and battle to prove their aptitude. This idea is supported by a medieval knight Sir John Chandos, who stated that men brought up for martial calling cannot live without war and do not know how to . Maurice Keen argues that chivalry was quintessentially bellicose as it presented those who fought has having a pinnacle of honor . As a result, the use of force by knights as a way of denoting their gallantry led to the belief that violence was intrinsic to the notion of chivalry. Furthermore, within the medieval period there was the development of certain traditions and rewards associated with the concept of chivalry. The partaking in tournaments and jousting is argued by Keen to have been a step on the scale of chivalrous perfection . In these activities acts of violence were glorified and those who were successful were rewarded, thus endorsing and entrenching the belief that violence and success in war were the main premises on which chivalry was based. This meant he had to write important poems about events that affected the British empire. He held this post until his death in 1892, making him Britain s longest ever serving laureate. The Crimean War was fought between Britain and Imperial Russia from 1853 1856. The most significant moment in this campaign occurred in 1854, during the Battle of Balaclava. An order given to the British Light Brigade was misunderstood and 600 cavalrymen ended charging down a narrow valley straight into the fire of Russian cannons. Almost half of the British soldiers were killed or wounded. According to his grandson Sir Charles Tennyson, Lord Tennyson wrote the poem in only a few minutes after reading an account of the battle in The Times. Upon walking into the small room the first painting that draws the attention of visitors is this painting. Not only is this a grotesque piece in an otherwise frightening room, Saturn also looks like he s rather enjoying this action, and his intense glare from his bulging eyes gives the impression as if you (the viewer) are the next target. The goal for this essay is to show Goya s way of depicting events that have affected not only society but him personally. It is a mythological subject that literally shows Saturn devouring his son. Light is very important as it focuses directly on the face of Saturn and the body of his son. It is a blinding light that leaves the dark background with a feeling of gloominess. The composition revolves around a single plane in which Saturn is placed devouring his victim. The dark background marks the sense of depth. Dehumanized and disfigured, the individuals that comprise the trees still retain human qualities like talking, breathing, and, even, bleeding under certain circumstances. Within each space, whether it is considered a definite locus amoenus or a locus horribilis, the most significant human attribute to which these trees cling is bleeding and thus they have a small handful of feelings and emotions still within each of them. The Role Of The Dublin Lockout Of 1913 James Larkin, the leader of the Irish Trade Union and the founder of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union once said The employers cannot carry on industry nor accumulate profits if they have not got the good will of the workers or their acquiescence in carrying on such industry. In 1911, over 300,000 people lived in Dublin. The unemployment rates were high and the average labourers wage was around one pound a week, and that was only if they had a full week of work. Living conditions were equally as inadequate as the working wages. Lydia Carroll and Enda Leaney found in a housing enquiry that 87,305 people lived in poverty, almost a third of Dublin s population. 80% of families lived in one room dwellings. According to the Public Health Report of 1913, 8,639 deaths were recorded, 1,444 were from tuberculosis and 4,642 were from nervous, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia due to inadequate sanitary and nutrition.(Devine, pg 3 4) These conditions sparked many protests as workers became desperate. • 29. Essay on Purpose Driven Church Book Review Rick Warren in his book the purpose driven church was mandated to attempt to put in print the story of Saddleback church. From shear curiosity be both Jew and gentile most religious and business leaders had at least a cursory interest in how a church grew to 10,000 attendees. Call it divine intervention, a killer marketing plan, being at the right place at the right time, blind luck or a combination of them all. • 30. Full Force And Effect Analysis Theme The theme of Full Force and Effect by Tom Clancy is to never give up. One example that helped identify this lesson is when Colin was about to surrender because he was very tired but ended up continuing to run away so the documents wouldn t fall into the wrong hands (27). Another example is when Jack Ryan Jr. wanted to cancel an operation in North Korea because it was too hard on him, but he continued it and discovered valuable information. Lastly, another case of this moral is when Gavin was trying to hack into the database of the mining company in North Korea. He spent all day trying and failed, so he made himself try a few more times and ended up with full access to the database of the employees. Other texts with the same theme ... Jack Ryan had thought this was a boring and pointless mission (11). This proves that the narrator is all knowing thus this book is told in third person omniscient. Tone And Mood The mood of Full Force and Effect by Tom Clancy is exciting. Constant action packed scenes makes one not want to put the book down. For example on page 62, Clark s head shook as the grenade exploded right around the corner. The tone is very serious, factual, and forthright. For instance on page 91, Runs fired left and right, Jack had no idea what had just happened. The violent scenes fits very well with the literal scenes thus making the tone very grave. One can destroy a whole city, potentially killing millions, and jeopardizing the natural environment and lives of future generations through its long term catastrophic effects. Although nuclear weapons have only been used twice in warfare in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 about 22,000 reportedly remain in our world today and there have been over 2,000 nuclear tests conducted to date. Demobilization is the best protection against such dangers, but achieving this goal has been a extremely difficult challenge. , The United Nations has made the fomenting of peace and security among all nations its highest priority, since its founding. • 34. Killer Bees Essay The Africanized Honey Bee is actually a variety of honeybee derived by hybridization from African honeybees naturalized in the western hemisphere. Because they are highly defensive and will attack perceived intruders more readily than the common European honeybee, they are also known by the popular name of killer bees. Brazilian scientists imported African honeybee queens in the 1950 s in order to breed a honeybee for use in tropical climates. Some swarms escaped into the wild. Because they were highly adapted for tropical survival and had no natural competitors, they thrived and spread rapidly through South America, extending their range by as much as 500 km (300 mi) per year. By the 1980s, Africanized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The businesses of many beekeepers in Latin American countries have failed as a result of Africanization of the native hives. Africanized honey bees are not expected to have the same impact in the United States because of advanced beekeeping technology and climatic limitations on the spread of the species. Africanization of beehives can be prevented by the annual introduction of new European queens to each colony. Africanized honeybees have increased the number of human deaths due to bee stings in Mexico and Argentina and probably in other countries. In the United States, however, although more people have been stung by bees since 1990, no more bee related deaths than usual have been recorded. Conclusions: The idea of killer bees is one that is created more by the media and misinformation than actual fact. Killer bees rarely if ever kill a victim. In addition, a killer bee scare in the United States would be completely unfounded and unnecessary. General precautions that are usually taken with the domesticated honeybee will suffice in protecting oneself against the Africanized honeybee. The Africanized honeybee has, for the most part, reached a climatic limitation in the United States and will not pose a threat to the northern areas of the country. The effect of Africanized honeybees to the United States is small. Advanced bee keeping methods, precautions, and medical technology negate the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Robert Browning s Dramatic Monologue Robert Browning was a brilliant writer. The Longman Anthology of British Literature says, More than any other nineteenth century figure, Browning shaped the poetry of the twentieth, influencing British and American poets from, Hardy and Yeats to Elliot, Pound, Frost, Lowell, and Stevens (1322). One of Robert Browning s specialties was dramatic monologues. In his dramatic monologues, Browning develops his characters really well. Throughout the monologue Browning shows the true character of the person by not only what the character is speaking, but also by idiomatic language, patterns of imagery, speech rhythms, and unintended ironies (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1323). A good example of one of Browning s dramatic monologues is The Bishop Orders His Tomb at Saint Praxed s Church. In this monologue the main character is a Bishop who is trying to order a very extravagant tomb for himself. Browning did such an excellent job at the Bishop s character development that John Ruskin said that there is not any other writing that portrays the Renaissance spirit its worldliness, inconsistency pride, hypocrisy, ignorance of itself, love of art, of luxury, and of good Latin (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1332). Browning portrayed this in only one hundred and twenty five lines, which shows the brilliance of Robert s writing. The Renaissance was full of a love of luxury. People wanted to have the best of the best. Robert definitely portrayed this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
