The 5th Wave Character Analysis
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey is a young adult science fiction novel. The story follows a young
girl named Cassie as the world as we know it comes to an end due to an alien arrival. Yancey
makes many of his beliefs, about family, trust, and love, known throughout the novel. For example,
Yancey s story conveys that family is worth dying for, trust is imperative for survival, and love can
drive people to go on beyond their limits. Countless times all through the novel, the theme that
family is worth dying for is evident. From the beginning, Cassie s father shows this when the whole
familystays put in their house while Cassie s mother is sick. By staying there, they are all risking
their lives as it would be incredibly easy for the rest of them to become ill with the altered form
of Ebola. Later, Cassie s father allows her to leave the barracks to go look for Crisco in the
woods when he senses trouble. He could have volunteered himself instead, but he decides that his
daughter is worth dying for. Moreover, Cassie constantly puts her life on the line for Sammy.
Beginning when Sammy boards the bus to to Wright Patterson, everything Cassie does is a riskto
ensure his safety. Her level of determination first becomes apparent when she decides to face her
Silencer. While she is lying under the Buick, her promise to Sammy motivates her to go on. From
the moment she boards the bus to Camp Haven herself, there was an infinite sea of possibilities for
something to go wrong. Even

Why You Should Know Your Clothes Come From Essay
This piece entitled Why You Should Know Where Your Clothes Come From is one published by a
niche sustainable fashion and lifestyle online magazine called Who What Where. It sets out to do
just what the title promised by trying to educate readers about the importance of knowing the
process by which their clothingis made and distributed. In order to achieve this task the author,
Jessica Schiffer, interviewed Maxine BГ©dat, the co founder of Zady, an increasingly popular
sustainable fashionand lifestyle brand. Together they assessed the current state of fast fashion, the
large and frantically growing market for clothing and accessory items, as well as the popular mega
chains that fuel this system. The article as a whole sets out to inform more than persuade and is
divided into pockets of information given by BГ©dat based on the interview questions the author
asks. Essentially, this piece seeks to convince through providing information. The target audience
for this piece is broad; it is us, the consumers who buy these clothing, and unknowingly, or
unwillingly supports this system that is described as having devastating effects both socially and
environmentally. This topic, whilst burdensome to look into is important for various reasons.
Fashion is something that affects each of us on varying levels, whether you re just buying a shirt
for an upcoming interview or selecting choice pieces for your extensive collection. Clothes are
important; they say a lot about who you are, or at

The Geological Formation Of Kangaroo Point Cliffs
Kangaroo Point Cliffs are one of the most iconic places that highlight Brisbane city s history
along with the Brisbane City Hall and Story Bridge. These cliffs were known by Aborigines even
before European settlers arrived in Brisbane. The development around the Kangaroo Point Cliff
was started in the 1900s when roads were developed around the cliff. Today, the Kangaroo Point
Cliff offers many adventurous activities such as rock climbing, kayaking on the BrisbaneRiver,
Segway tours, bike riding around the garden etc. The rocks found on these steep cliffs are
known as the Brisbane Tuff . These unique pink and green stones were also used in building
public buildings during the 1820s and 1830s. The very steep feature and gas holes on the cliff
plays a significant role in identifying these cliffs a result of a volcanic eruption (Visit Brisbane,
2018). This essay analyses geological formation of Kangaroo Point cliff and the Brisbane tuff which

Karl Marx And Mill Had A Great Impact With Their Work...
Individuality is a topic that was discussed by many philosophers during the 19th century all around
the world, particularly in Europe were many great philosophers came to this world with many ideas
and political philosophies in how the individual has to be treated in order to satisfy its necessities
and the necessities of its family. Freedom, alienation and many others factors were many of the
threats that society was going through in the 19th century. Philosophers like Marx and Mill had a
great impact with their work influencing new generations of thinkers. Therefore this essay will
focus in the different political philosophies on individuality that Marx and Mill had during the 19th

These ideas are the main reason on Marx s conclusion on man s nature, which is incredibly
important to understand the theory of the individual. Man s nature is not abstract; a characteristic of
a certain individual. Actually it is the totally of all the social relations (Marx). In this quote the idea
of man s nature that Marx has represents a revolutionary reconstruction that would have to happen
in the world and the importance of education in the individual.
Marx s studies the theory of the individual and mainly focus in three areas, which are the complete
development of the individual, the problems of alienation and freedom.
Labour for the worker is something external not belonging to his nature...in his labour he does
not affirm himself, but denies himself, feels not happy, but unhappy, does not develop freely his
physical and spiritual energy but wears out his physical nature and destroys his spiritual force.
This is why the worker feels that he is himself only outside of working hours in the process of
labour he feels he is estranged from himself. He is himself when he is not working, and when he
works he is already not himself. (Marx)
Marx explains the idea in how the labor workers do not own they own work. Therefore, alienation
is a product from labor and it is used between capitalist societies to alienate the product of a man s
labor and his social nature. The bourgeois society will take the

Notions of Selflessness in Sartrean Existentialism and...
Notions of Selflessness in Sartrean Existentialism and Theravadin Buddhism
ABSTRACT: In this essay I examine the relationship between Sartre s phenomenological
description of the self as expressed in his early work (especially Being and Nothingness) and
elements to be found in some approaches to Buddhism. The vast enormity of this task will be
obvious to anyone who is aware of the numerous schools and traditions through which the religion
of Buddhism has manifested itself. In order to be brief, I have decided to select specific aspects of
what is commonly called the Theravadin tradition as being representative of Buddhist philosophy.
By choosing to look primarily at the Theravadin tradition, I am by necessity ignoring a vast number

Secondly, Buddhism is a religion of many sects which differ from each other in various manners.
By choosing to look primarily at the Theravadin tradition, I am by necessity ignoring the viewpoints
of a vast number of schools which are considered Buddhist in nature. In my view, the Theravadin
sect presents a consistent Buddhist philosophy which is representative of many of the major trends
within Buddhism.
Sartre s method for explaining his position on the self is the phenomenological one, utilized
before him by Husserl and Heidegger. Phenomenology may be defined as the descriptive analysis
of subjective processes. It differs from psychology in that while psychology sets up causal or
genetic laws to explain subjective processes, phenomenology merely describes. Sartre points out
the intentionality of consciousness (a process earlier described by Husserl and Brentano).
Consciousness is always consciousness of something. For Sartre, there exist non conscious beings
independent and external to consciousness. This realm of non conscious beings is referred to by
Sartre as the in itself while consciousness is referred to as the for itself.
The in itself appears to consciousness and is the object of consciousness, but is transcendent in the
sense that it is external to consciousness. Consciousness is not only

Taking a Look at Islam and Judaims
Introduction Apart from Christianity, Islam and Judaism are two of the most influential religions in
the world, particularly in the Middle East. Although Judaism is not as large as Islam, it has
impacted on the world in a profound manner. While it s quite evident that both Islam and Judaism
appear to be having conflicting differences in terms of their doctrines, they are both know as
Abrahamic religionsbecause they share a common origin in the Middle East through Abraham in
the Hebrew Bible. Nevertheless, Judaismis often considered to be the oldest of all the Abrahamic
religions. Most ethnographers have been more interested in understanding on how the convictions
between the two religions compare, based on their religious believes about God, afterlife, the
universe and people. This can be attributed to the fact that the conflict between Islamand Judaism
has been viewed as a result of irreconcilable clash of religious doctrines. But, I do not believe that
this is really the case. This essay will focus on drawing a comparison between Judaism and Islam
so as to establish the similarities and differences that exist between them. The comparison will then
be used to support my opinion based on the ides that these religions can live together peacefully and
that they are not destined for perpetual conflict.
Similarities
There are several doctrines and historical events that can be linked to the two religions. Both Islam
and Judaism believe in the existence of one creator

Marketing to Children

Response Paper
Marketing Children
Child obesity is a growing problem in today s society. On average 28% of girls age 6 11 are
overweight. Pediatricians are now seeing more and more children with high levels of cholesterol,
high blood pressure, and adult on set diabetes. In 1997 American children obtained 50% of their
calories from added fat and sugar and only 1% of children s diets resembled the recommended
proportions of the Food Pyramid.
The amount of money that is spent marketing to children is outrageous. Companies purposefully
market to the young children s tastes in a variety of ways through package design, typefaces,
pictures, and content. Key elements for successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marketers understand that no child is too young to be targeted by television; many of these
programs are linked directly to commercial products. For example, Burger King then McDonald s
sponsored the public television show Teletubbies (show for toddlers). McDonald s distributed toys
of the four characters in their happy meals. It is estimated that advertising for children has now
reached over $1 billion. The most common advertised foods seen are not surprisingly low in
nutritional value; products such as, presweetened breakfast cereals, candy, fast food, sodas,
cookies, and chips. Its safes to say the money isn t being spent on advertising of fruits, vegetables,
bread, or fish.
Another largely upsetting report found that food commercials stimulate antisocial behavior in
children. Commercials aimed to children are overly dependent on socially negative material,
violence, conflict, and/or trickery. Food companies purposefully entice children by placing logos
on toys, games, clothing, and school supplies. They even go as far as to sponsor clubs, produce
magazines, buy time in movies, obtain celebrity endorsers, and add their logo to baby bottles. For
example, McDonald s offers cups, toys, placemats, movie coupons, special toys, and logo labeled
items for all occasions. Some companies now sell counting books to young children that require the
purchase and use of the brand name. Regrettably, they teach children to count

Analysis Of The Book Stiglitz A Recipient Of The Nobel...
Stiglitz, a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics, and Andrew Charlton, a fellow economist,
propose a new, radical solution to world trade problems a solution that brings equilibrium to the
trading relationships between the poorest and richest countries. The book contains an in depth,
college level understanding of fair tradeand its theoretical applications on third world countries.
With regards to theoretical applications, the book elaborates on the proposal, which is fair trade, and
how it can initiate development in a country. Besides providing a holistic and substantive
perspective on fair trade, the book also expounds on the effects of globalizationon world trade and
the development of third world countries. The book is useful to the study, as it will provide a
clearer and better understanding of fair trade and support the arguments in the study. The main
limitation of the study is that the book covers a wide area fair trade, world trade, and third world
countries, without going in depth to labor rights abuse.
Formed from the decimation of industrial jobs and farm incomes due to the unjust terms of trade
and arrangements in the Philippines, Fair Trade Alliance elaborates on how fair trade can elevate
the Philippines and other similar countries economic status sustainably. The book provides a
college level understanding of the trade methods of solving economic problems. To combat the ill
effects of globalization on the economy of the Philippines, the book

The Necklace By Guy Maupassant Essay
In our everyday life the majority of us have to make decisions. These decisions vary from
deciding to wear a pink flannel or a white blazer, to considering if the job offer at the local
supermarket or the internship at Mercury is right for you. The short story, How Far She Went
written by Mary Hood details a grandchild debating whether she should leave her house to find her
freedom or stay with her detach grandmother. Similarly, the short storyThe Necklace written by
Guy Maupassant, the protagonist named Madame Loisel suffers from an internal struggle to either
keep dreaming of a higher social status or remain in her current social economic status. Likewise,
Emilia Pardo BazГЎn short story Las Medias Rojas (The Red Stockings), the protagonist faces a
dilemma to either stay with her abusive father or search for the American Dream. Indeed, in the
trajectory of life an individual may face adversity of any magnitude, but ultimately it is our
decisions that shape our lives. How Far She Went written by Mary Hood demonstrates how our
decisions shape our lives, leaving us with a long lasting impact that makes us value. The short
story describes a rebellious granddaughter who is tired of the quarrels with her grandmother and
decides to leave her for some moto bikers. The moto bikers are older than her and they want to rape
her. The grandmother although she does not demonstrate her affection towards her granddaughter,
sense s danger and goes looking for her granddaughter.

Hurricane Katrina was devastating. My sister s husband was a lifeguard when that occurred. He

guilty about all the ones he couldn t save. I couldn t believe the amount of damage that occurred,
how unprepared the local, state and national governments were and the large amount of deaths that
took place. I experienced Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey which was truly a scary experience. I
can t even imagine what the people in Katrina had to go though since that was ten times worse.
According to CNN (2017), FEMA released its cost estimate on the damage caused by Hurricane
Katrina which was around 108 billion dollars and a total of 1,833 people have died.

Examples Of Fallacy Of Hasty Generalization
1.Please re examine the way the conclusion was written. Is the statement of the conclusion biased?
Is the definition of the key terms neutral and acceptable? Or is it controversial? Is there a need to
revise the statement of the conclusion?
The way the conclusion was written is unbiased for it was clearly presented and stated. The terms
are evidently defined as well and so, no further revision of the conclusion is needed.
2.Next, re examine the claim of the conclusion: If it is an empirical generalization, then challenge it
by demanding the required evidence for many, most or all claim in the premises set. If the required
evidence for the generalization was not offered in the premise set, then reject the argument for
having committed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You know that generalizations can be challenged by citing that the observed cases are not
representative of the population or that the sample is not large enough, hence the fallacy of hasty
generalization is made.
Premises 1, 2 and 3 prove the generalization since both were able to satisfy the requirement of the
term some that at least one reported case of a child negatively affected by television viewing be
presented. Hence, fallacy of hasty generalization is not made.
b. Another tactic is to demonstrate that the observed cases are biased because they were not
observed in every possible variety of time, place and circumstance and that a thorough search for
counter examples was not done.
Unfortunately, there were no scientific studies presented about how people from different places
around the world and how people from different age groups respond to the effects of television
watching. The genetic makeup of people varies hence, the conclusion may not be true to some.
c. Then, to clinch your point, produce the counter example. Caution: a counter example applies
only to an all claim; but very few are aware of this. You could use this to your advantage. In
contrast, to challenge a most claim you need many counter

What Are The Similarities Between Killing Kennedy
In the book Killing Kennedy it says that Lincoln and Kennedy had many similarities, and they
do. There are many similarities between John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln. These
similarities can range from a simple year to in depth details. Details like Booth and Oswald were
both killed before being brought to trial. Most of the similarities are fact except a few like,
Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy and Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln. Only
Kennedy s secretary was named Lincoln, there is no record of a Kennedy. The elections and time

One similarity is that they were both shot in the head on Friday seated by their wives. On those
Friday s there were major holidays after. Both presidents were with another couple at the time of
their assassinations. The male of the other couple was injured during the assassination. Both of the
assassins committed the crime in the building that they were employed. One of the most amazing
facts is that Lincoln was shot at fords theatre and Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln car made by ford.
And Lincoln sat in box number seven at the theatre and Kennedy was in car number seven in the
motorcade. Another one of the most amazing facts is the John Wilkes boothfled from a theatre and
was caught in a warehouse and lee Harvey Oswald fled from a warehouse and was caught in a
theatre. There were theories that booth and Oswald were part of a greater conspiracy. Both of the
assassins died in the same moth as their victims in the state next to their state of birth. And the both
of the assassins were sympathetic to another government against the United States. Back to the
presidents now, they both had body guards that were named William. Whenever the presidents

The Leadership Of A Volunteer Adult Leader
1.You are the new Leading Petty Officer , a phrase uttered to me by a volunteer adult leader as a 15
year old Naval Sea Cadet following the division s tragic loss of two petty officers, in what the
media dubbed as the Hail Mary Murder (reference a). A year into my experience as a Sea Cadet,
when the senior youth leader died at the hands of another cadet petty officer. A third senior cadet,
who s relationship was close to the other two, dropped out of the program as he couldn t bear the
trauma of coming back to the division. That left me next in the cadet chain of command. At 15
years old, this unfortunate event put me in charge of about 20 other teenagers, all reeling from the
loss of our friends and youth leaders. To say nothing of the fact that getting a new role in this
manner is terrible, it happened, and together we needed to help the unit recover and move on with
our teenaged lives.
2.The moments that shaped my lens through which leadership is pulled into focus are plentiful and

Frankenstein Vs. Bladerunner Essay
As society changes around us, we spot things we never noticed before: high divorce rates, murder
rates, and drug use just to name a few. James Riddley Scott and Mary Shelley noticed and had a
fear of child abandonment. In Frankenstein, Shelley explores this subject through the viewpoint of
a man, Victor, who creates a child so hideous that he cannot bear to look at it, and consequently
deserts it. In Blade Runner, Scott explores this matter through a businessman, Tyrell, who makes
replicants of humans, the Nexus 6, gives them only four years to live, and sells them as slaves. The
children of these creators turn out to be smarter and more human than expected, and revolt against

live in. In Offred, Moira is living almost as a second personality and in a way persuades Offred to
be free of conforming to the society of Gilead. Throughout various sections of the book this is
shown. They ve given me a small electric fan, which helps in this humidity. It whirs on the floor,

Moira s presence in her past. This is paramount to how Offred acts in the book. Moira had given
hope and courage to the Handmaids during and after her time at the Red Center. With Moira s
escape from the center, it planted the seed of dreams into many Handmaids there. The mystery of

Similarities Of Two Peter And Jude
The similarities of 2 Peter and Jude might appear to be a strenuous task to some who have never
been engaged in reading the two writings. My essay will attempt to show the similarities that are
in these two writings which seem to have been scribed at the same time or around the same time.
Most similarities, of which are namely: the dates of the scribing of the two Epistles, the false
doctrines of the false teachers that had come into the church, the same thoughts and expressions of
their work, whether the writings are apostolic or not, and what hardships the churches or the two
audiences were facing. The Epistle of Jude has been said to be inscribed very late, but it might not
have been inscribed after A.D. 70, which was the destruction of Jerusalem. Perceiving that if it had
been so that Jude s Epistle was written after the destruction of... Show more content on

The book of Enoch is possibly one of the oldest books, for it is said, Enoch walked with God .
Enoch is also said to have preached to many, even angels! Nevertheless, even if Jude quoted from
Enoch s writings, he was just as the Paul who quoted from the verses of the Old Testament, and
to Peter who referred to some of the Epistles of Paul. Even if there so many similar scriptures
found in Jude and 2 Peter, it is just the Holy Spirit in both men. According to the style of writing of
the two apostles, it seems the churches or their audiences were going through the same hardships.
As mentioned above, they all had problems with false teachers, and Peter states that some would
fall away into accepting the doctrines of these men, and follow the pernicious ways of these men (2
Peter 2:2) . So, there is a possibility that their audiences were all facing the same difficulties and
hardships. It might have been that the two audiences needed the same encouragements, reproof,
warnings, correction, and

Janie s Vision Under The Pear Tree Analysis
Hurston s description of Janie s vision under the pear tree conveys the ideals of love and
intimacy. As shown by the follow description: She saw a dust bearing bee sink into the sanctum of
a bloom; the thousand sister calyxes arch to meet the love embrace and the ecstatic shiver of the
tree from root to tiniest branch creaming in every blossom and frothing with delight. So this was a
marriage! She had been summoned to behold a revelation. Then Janie felt a pain remorseless sweet
that left her limp and languid. From this description, one can see that Janie sees the pear tree and
bee is very intimate and this starts representing loveto her. This vision is an awakening for Janie
and she starts wanting to be intimate and loved. Her future ideals... Show more content on

Nanny believes in marriage and material wealth as the ideal goal for a black woman. This is due
to her past as a slave and her and her daughter s unmarried status due to them being forced into
illicit relationships and raped. So all through her life, nanny has seen having property, being
protected by your husband, and having time for leisure as an ideal. However, this point of view
has limitations as shown by when Janie complains to her nanny about her lack of love and her
nanny is unable to comprehend it and instead says You come head wid yo mouf full uh
foolishness on uh busy day. Yeah you got uh prop to lean on all yo bawn days, and big
protection, and everybody s got tuh tip the hat to you and call you Mis Killicks, and you come
worryin me bout love. This lack of understanding shows that nanny s point of view is limited,
because, unlike Janie, she doesn t realize there s more to life than status and wealth. The book
doesn t support this viewpoint either, because it is clear that Janie is the happiest when she is
living and working with tea cake in the Everglades. Her happiness proves that she didn t need the
wealth or leisure lifestyle, she just needed to be loved and cared for by her

A Companion To the Movies
Title and Year: Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Director: Frank Darabont (based on the Stephen King novel)
Actors: Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, and William Sadler.
The Shot
Long/medium/close up: Roger Deakins, the film s cinematographer, and director Frank Darabont
worked together to create this wonderful and classical film heavily utilizing long shots, close
ups, and slow zooms. Throughout the film Shawshank Redemption , a series of shots take place
where the camera is set inside a dark space looking out at the characters. For example, the camera
is set inside the entrance of a tunnel built and used by Andy to escape, which views the Warden
and his guards finally discovering how he escaped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Darabont uses the angle of the camera for symbolic reasons as well, for example, the camera looks
down during the argument between Andy and Hadley. The camera s angle shot in this scene
indicated Andy had both power and effect over others.
Camera Movement: Shawshank redemption features many closeups, long takes, and slow zooms.
The use of slow zooms in on the character is to help affect the audience on an intimate level.
The Story
Characters: The main characters are Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), Ellis Boyd Red Redding
(Morgan Freeman), Warden Norton (Bob Gunton), Heywood (William Sadler), and Captain Hadley
(Clancy Brown).
Plot: The plot of Shawshank Redemption follows the usual plot format including the exposition,
rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion. Taken place in the 1940s, this film begins with
showing the audience the unfortunate events that led successful banker Andy Dufresne into prison
on life sentence for a double murder. Andy, however, is innocent. For the beginning of Andy s time
in prison, the usual calamity and burdens had occurred. We view Andy s struggle being an innocent
man living with criminals. However, as the audience reaches the climax of the story, we see that

Descriptive Essay About Father
A warm smile and kind eyes is what attributes to a man, known as my father. He works hard and
is diligent, but what defines him is the kindness that is always visible within him. My father, Ben
Morgan, is forty eight with light brown hair, and turquoise eyes that always have a sense purpose
in them. From years of thinking, he has lines that rest by his eyes accompanied by the usual lines
that encircle a smile he shows to all. My father has a kindness in him, in which no one in our family
has. A few examples are: helping strangers in need, doing charityevents, and putting his family
above all else.
In particular, what makes my father have this kindness is he assists strangers in need. To
explain, one day we were driving to a Lowes near our house, I had not noticed, but apparently
two older ladies were walking in the opposite direction and one of them had fallen. My father had
seen this and when it was safe to do so had turned around in the silver dodge ram truck he was
driving. Once he caught up to them he had offered a ride to them, and it had turned out one of
the woman had a medical condition that was affecting her there and then. Thankfully it was not
too serious, but it had prevented her from walking normally. Once we reached their destination,
they thanked my father and praised him. While helping the two older ladies may be seen as a task
anyone would do, no one else had stopped, pulled over, and offered assistance to the two older
ladies. In today s world it is very

things that has become more accepted by many are tattoos, the current generation has more

all the time, Where do you plan on working? , Do you think you will actually be able to get good
job Do this mean the workplace has become more considerate when it comes to the recent trend
of tattoos? Over the years tattoos were not as popular as they are today. Tattoos were genuinely
for a few specific group or behavior. The image tattoos usually give were associated with gangs,
bikers, rappers, and rockstars. Now tattoos are looked at in a completely different way. They are
a form of expressing yourself, showing your love for art, and the most common reason people get
tattoos is to honor someone or something. According to a similar article, a lot of people who hold
entry level jobs, work industrial jobs, along with high executive positions have tattoos. Now that
tattoos are common for women and men questions are now going unanswered. The ongoing
question in this article is, what is an employer to do when it comes to employees having body art?
Do tattoos speak say something about the individual? (Gross, Barrie. Tattoos in the Workplace:

Marc Chagall And Frida Kahlo
INTRODUCTION
The use of symbols is a powerful means used by the artists to connect with the viewer on a
personal or universal level. These symbolic messages give strength and meaning to artworks and
are achieved through the artist s choice of media, techniques and imagery . Two artists who
exemplify this use of symbolism are Marc Chagall and Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was an artist,
moulded by the context of her personal life, who is commemorated for her use of symbolism in
her many auto biographical artworks. Kahlo, born on July 6th 1907 in CoyocoГЎn, Mexico City,
suffered though many problematic circumstances. At age 6 Kahlo was diagnosed with polio
and, was then bedridden for nine months. The disease damaged her right foot and leg which
resulted in her forming a permanent limp. (Biography.com Editors , 2017) At age eighteen
Kahlo was then involved in a horrific accident when she was on a bus and their vehicle collided
with a streetcar. The accident forced a steel rail to impale Kahlo from the front of her hip right
through to the other side. These fractures to her hips, ribs, collarbones, feet and shoulders caused
her to be surrounded by a full body cast, which started her love for art. She began painting images
on her cast, one by one, using her spare time to pursue her new found love. In 1929 Kahlo married
the well known artist, Diego Rivera. Their relationship was tumultuous and soon resulted in their
divorce in 1939. This heartbreak caused Kahlo to become overwhelmed

What Is Walzer s Theory Of Aggression
What is Walzer s Theory of Aggression ?
According to Michael Wazler, the theory of aggression implies to the ideologies of jus ad bellum
as detailed in the international law. He uses domestic correlation as the basis of the theory by
explaining how the rules that govern citizens apply to the international community. The rights that
apply to the citizens are similar to those of the states. He argues that Every violation of the
territorial integrity or political sovereignty of an independent state is called aggression He
subdivides the theory into six main points that act as the standards of comprehending war from a
moral point of view.
The international community constitutes of independent nations that Wazler uses to demonstrate
the concept of a civilized society.
The states that form the international community have rights. The foundation of the rights is the
rights guaranteed to persons.
It is a crime for a state to use force against the other. Such actions comprise the state s rights.
The justification of violence as a means of defending oneself where individuals and states use it as
a method of enforcing laws
Hostility serves to validate war
It is possible to punish and ward off aggressors
Walzer seeks to point out that when states emphasize on their rights, they must also be (somehow)
the objects of punishment
How does Walzer modify that theory in the section of the book on jus ad bellum, and why does he
feel it needs modification?

School Structure And Family Influences
Education never really seemed to be priority in my hometown. Fresno, the 5th largest city in
California, is listed as the 8th least literate city in the US. I grew up in a part of town where less
than 75% of the residents age 25 and over received a high school diploma; less than 13% earned
a Bachelor s degree; and only 3% have a graduate or professional degree. It s surprising that I
even made it to graduate school after reading statistics like these. My objective is to reflect on my
school experience, and explore how culture, school structure and family influences contributed to
my successful completion of grades K 16, even when the odds were not in my favor.
I came from a working class family of six whose ethnicity was mixed my father, White and my
mother, Hispanic. My siblings and I all went to Slater Elementary School from Kindergarten to 6th
grade. The school was less than a mile from my home, and the community was made up mostly of
working and lower middle class families. The ethnic distribution of my neighborhood was 53.8%
Hispanic, 28.2% White, 9.3% Black, 5.5% Asian, and 2% mixed race. Coming from a mixed race
family had its own challenges. In addition to being a cultural outlier in the community, I was
always confused about who I was ethnically, and was forced to choose which one identified with
more (White or Hispanic) on standardized tests, or when participating with play groups.

Desire Vs. Morality And Duty
Section I: Theme Desire vs. Morality and Duty: Throughout the novel, Ethan seems to struggle
with managing his desire for Mattie and his duty as a husband. This theme is apparent
throughout the entirety of the novella. It starts before the book even begins. Ethan, in the first
chapter, admits to often walking Mattie, his wife s cousin, home just to spend few minutes
alone with her. However it is first mentioned in the book when Ethan is standing alone, just
watching Mattie dance. He knows he has a wife to get back to, but yet all he can imagine is
being in that party and being the one who is dancing passionately with Mattie. Although, his
sense of duty and morality is not only because of his relationship with Zeena, but because he
fears the way his society would react to such a scandal. Although his desire to leave Zeena, a
sour and sickly old woman, is somewhat understandable, he knows that his society would shun
him if he abandoned her for another woman. Later in the book, this theme is again apparent
when Zeena must leave to see a new doctor about her illness. Ethan loses his sense of duty to her,
and lies to Zeena so that he can spend time with the one he so desires. However in chapter nine,
this theme is most apparent. After Zeena tells Ethan that she is to throw Mattie, the love of his life
and the last force that could make him happy, out on the streets to make room for a new hired girl,
Ethan devises a plan to run off with Mattie. He spends an entire night making

Voluntourism is a form of tourism, which travelers do voluntary work for a charity. Voluntourism,
which has become more popular in the recent past, started with good intentions of white westerners

To solve this issue, we need to protect the orphans. We need to stop letting orphanages be treated
like daycare, need better background checks and training for volunteers, and stop letting inhumane
behaviors happen in our orphanages. Orphanages need more funding, better trained volunteers and
better resources. Orphans have been through alot and are resilient, but we need to protect orphans
around the world, giving them the closest thing we can to their families. With good volunteers, we
can change these kids lives and get them into the lives they deserve. Children are amazingly
resilient... we find that if we get them out of institutions and into loving families early on, they

Essay on Oil Export for a Unified Caspian Oil Conglomerate
Oil Export for a Unified Caspian Oil Conglomerate
Introduction
Oil resources are the focal point of almost all international disputes in the present century as every
country needs oil to power its electrical grids, run its automobiles, and operate its machinery. The
vast majority of accessible oil lies in the extremely unstable Middle East, whose countries form
most of OPEC and have a viable monopoly on oil production and pricing. The troubles caused by
this situation thus come to no surprise as high demand and monopolistic supply give omnipotent
control to the supplier.
The Caspian Sea region is seen by some as a possible answer to the problems of OPEC control.
The Caspian Sea and the surrounding states contain 10 billion ... Show more content on

A Short Story Of A Ghost Story
I shall begin my story with an experience I encountered at the age of sixteen at our small town s
Latin school. The sweetness of many memories from that time still stirs and touches me with
melancholy: dark and well lit alleys, houses and factories, faces and chimes, rooms affluent and
comfortable, snug and amenable, the whole town was pregnant with secrets.
The realms of day and night, two different universes coming from two opposite poles, mingled
during this time. My parents home belonged to one realm. This realm was familiar to me in many
ways strictness and love, model behaviour and school. This realm was thriving in clarity, brilliance
and purity, polite conversations and good manners. This was the world in which morning hymns
were sung and Christmas celebrated. Straight lines and paths led into the future: there was duty,
love, forgiveness, good resolutions, wisdom and reverence. If one wanted an unsullied and
ordinary life, one made sure one was in league with this world.
The other realm, however, was completely different: it smelt different, spoke a different language,
promised and demanded different things. This world contained ghost stories, rumours of scandals
and servant girls. It was dominated by a loud mixture of horrendous, intriguing, frightful, mysterious
things, including slaughterhouses and prisons, drunkards and screeching fishwives, calving cows,
horse sinking to their deaths, talks of robberies, murders and suicides. All these wild and cruel,

Coding Theory, Its Components And Its Practical Applications
This case study covers the coding theory, its components and its practical applications. Coding
theory, sometimes called logarithmic coding hypothesis, manages the configuration of lapse
remedying codes for the dependable transmission of data crosswise over uproarious channels.
Error coding is utilized as a part of numerous advanced provisions like workstation memory,
attractive and optical information stockpiling media. The investigation of mistake rectifying codes
and the cohorted arithmetic is known as coding hypothesis. In information theory, the amount of
positions at which the relating images are distinctive between two strings is Hamming distance.
Hamming code is a set of error correction codes that might be utilized to recognize and right bit
errors that can happen when machine information is moved or put away.
There is lot of examples of coding theory; one of the biggest examples of its use is in
communication field, i e modulation, encryption and decryption of signal.
Coding Theory A Case
In 1948, Claude Shannon, working at Bell Laboratories in the USA, introduced the entire subject of
coding hypothesis by indicating that it was conceivable to encode messages in such a path, to the
point that the amount of additional bits transmitted was as little as would be prudent. Unfortunately,
his confirmation did not give any express formulas for these ideal codes. It was two years after the
fact that Richard Hamming, likewise at Bell Labs, started considering

The Importance Of Physical Activity
The use of pedometers and tracking tools for physical activity has allowed me to measure my
energy expenditure per day though tracking my steps, calculating the duration of physical activity
completed per week and analyzing the intensity and the type of activity I engage in. There are
specific guidelines set out for all age groups to attain the goal of the exercising while increasing the
levels of intensity and decreasing sedentary behaviors . This reflection will outline tips and tricks to
staying active and reducing sedentary activity. I will identify the facilitators and barriers to
exercising through the analyses of my physical activity log while highlighting the strengths and
weakness of my physical activity habits. Exerciseovertime will improve current fitness; it will
increase Cardio respiratory fitness and muscular fitness, decrease the risks associated to chronic
disease and improve mental health.1
Being a student, I am aware of the commitment to completing my school work and attending all of
my classes in the University. Unfortunately, this result to more sedentary activity then I would like.
I attend three classes a day that vary in length, but accumulates to five hours a day of sitting, this
does not include the time spent studying and completing assignments. I spend an average of a
minimum of three to six hours per day studying aside from going to class, this contributes to eight
to eleven hours per day of sedentary activity. The average time adults spend in

Alienation of Process according to Karl Marx
Karl Marx discusses four forms of alienation and two of the four are equally important in the
ongoing production of capitalism: alienation from the process and product one makes. From the
alienation of process, the proletariat or maker is just a producer of the product. He does not
have any say as to how a product should be made or improved because he is not the owner of the
facilities or tools used to make the product. This can be incorporated to a worker in a factory. He or
she may be given specific instructions and must follow through with the creation of the product.
The entrepreneur, who owns the amenities used to make the product, has power over the labor of
the workers. Therefore, entrepreneurs have the say as how the product should be developed. As a
result, any completed or incomplete product is left at the hands of the entrepreneur rather than the
maker. This leads to another form of alienation known as estrangement. Alienation from the product
one makes, or estrangement, refers to the relationship of the manufactured goods and the maker.
The proletariat may be able to put value in the product they make, but it does not necessarily mean
they own the product. As a result, the higher class, in this case the entrepreneurs, makes revenue of
the product produced by the maker. All profit where the workers don t own the means of production
is based on exploitation (89). The proletariats, therefore, are mistreated for the entrepreneurs benefit
of gaining surplus

ignorance and want
Set up against the rampant industrialization of the 18th century, Charles Dickens classic novella A
Christmas Carol endorses the notion that all people have a responsibility to ensure the safety and
welfare of every member of society. By taking his seemingly irredeemable protagonist Ebenezer
Scrooge on an other worldly journey. Dickens intends to convey to the complacent classes of the
age, the necessity of various traits that are essential in life, such as the responsibility for those
whom are less fortunate and other vital traits such as charity, generosity and simply caring for
others. Dickens warns the reader of the consequences that will follow if these lessons are not taken
into consideration.

The Portrait Of Marie Antoinette
The artwork I decided to do my research and write about is the portrait of Marie Antoinette with
her Children. I found this portrait very interested in me; I am going to give you a brief
information on the artist of the artwork. This portrait was by Elisabeth Louise Vigee Lerun and the
portrait is oil on canvas, 9 ВЅ x 7 5/8 . The portrait was created in 1700 in France. It s a portrait of a
French queen who is Marie Antoinettealong with her children as a good mother to her children,
but there is no sign of the father in the portrait. The portrait is a loving mother of four children,
but only three are shown in the portrait because of the children deceased. Also I see the portrait
of a single mother who is a loving mother who love her children daily and have a space of
emptiness because of the loss of her child who processed into his death at 11 months old.
The artist of the portrait is Elisabeth Vigee Lebrun. She was born in Paris on April 16, 1755. She
was the daughter of Louis Vigee who was a pastel painter of moderate talent and devoted to his
artwork. When Elisabeth turned eleven her education was considered complete, she then left
school for good to return home to her parents and to pursue her dream as a painter like her father.
While back at home with her parents, she spend many of her hours in her father s studio
experimenting to her heart s content with his crayons, and dutifully accompanied her mother, who,
we are told, was good to the point of austerity,

Ophelia s Suicide Note Essay example
Ophelia s Suicide Letter
Dear Hamlet,
I thought I would be able to bottle up all of these emotions but it seems I cannot bear it any
longer; I must let it all out. I must tell you, Hamlet, that living in this mad world is driving me to
the brink of insanity. I am just so fed up with going about every single day persuading myself
that I had ought to ignore it all and simply, sweetly smile. But why should I? Why should I sit
around and let the likes of men like you order me around any longer? Yes Lord this, yes Lord
that! Who do all of you men think you are? Being ordered around by my father, brother and you,
my former lover, completely frustrates me every time. Am I your maid? Your slave? Your toy? You

What sense does this make? Such a thought makes me tremble in utter disbelief. How could you
have committed such a crime and not feel any sense of shame or guilt? Had you not any thought
or consideration for my well being or stability of my emotional state when you committed such a
sin? You didn t, did you since you did not think twice to confirm who it was behind the arras. I
am curious, Hamlet, for what reason did you do such a terrible thing? What has he ever done to
deserve such a foul fate? Has he wronged you in any way? All he has done is loyally serve your
family yet this is what he receives in return! It overwhelms me with great sadness.
Moreover, not only have I lost my father, but it seems I have lost you as well, both mentally and
physically. Following our separation, I still loved you Hamlet. But you, who pushed me away
and branded me as damaged goods, have broken my fragile heart, have killed my father, someone
who truly cared for me despite his demands, and have left me in utter despair. Oh it feels as if my
world is suddenly falling apart! I cannot go to you, Hamlet, for your hands are stained with my
father s blood and as of late, I can hardly speak to you as your mind seems to have plummeted to the
depths of insanity! Yet at the same time, despite everything that has happened, I find myself unable

My Favorite Season Essay
Fall is my favorite season out of the other three sensational seasons in Minnesota. I love fall
because it happens to be my favorite season of the year. No, not volleyball or football season, but
deer hunting. I have had good years hunting, and I have had bad years hunting, but my favorite year
was my second year hunting.
November 8th, 2014. The first Saturday of the deer hunting season. Opening day. It was a 20 to
30 degree Fahrenheit day. Earlier this morning, my dad and I went out hunting hoping to get
something, but sadly I did not see anything sitting in the stand with my dad. Since we had a long
and boring morning, my dad and I decided to head back home and rest for the night shift of
hunting. When we returned home, I undressed from all my orange clothing and took a long nap. I
woke up to eat lunch, which was some warm homemade soup that my mother had made my dad
and I to eat for lunch. After lunch, we were ready to head out again. ... Show more content on

Half of the day had passed by and it was time for round two of the opening day. I was so pumped
for that night that it was hard to stay still. When we reached to grandpa s house, we pulled out the
four wheeler again and drove it about a half a mile to our stand right in the middle of a swamp.
The first hour out in the stand was so boring and again. I was sitting there looking at the beautiful
birch trees and the tall prairie grass surrounding the stand. On the birch trees there were many antler
scrapings, which means the bucks were once here marking their territory. My deer stand is
approximately 20 feet off the ground, which gives a great view of the woods. I could see my
grandpa s barn, which was about a half a mile away, but I could not see his big teal house, since all
the big trees were blocking my view. Next to my stand about 40 feet away is an old and rotted deer
stand someone put up in a tree many years

The story follows a young girl named Cassie as the world as we know it comes to an end due to an alien arrival. Yancey makes many of his beliefs, about family, trust, and love, known throughout the novel. By staying there, they are all risking their lives as it would be incredibly easy for the rest of them to become ill with the altered form of Ebola. Later, Cassie s father allows her to leave the barracks to go look for Crisco in the woods when he senses trouble. He could have volunteered himself instead, but he decides that his daughter is worth dying for. Moreover, Cassie constantly puts her life on the line for Sammy. Beginning when Sammy boards the bus to to Wright Patterson, everything Cassie does is a riskto ensure his safety. • 3. Why You Should Know Your Clothes Come From Essay This piece entitled Why You Should Know Where Your Clothes Come From is one published by a niche sustainable fashion and lifestyle online magazine called Who What Where. It sets out to do just what the title promised by trying to educate readers about the importance of knowing the process by which their clothingis made and distributed. In order to achieve this task the author, Jessica Schiffer, interviewed Maxine BГ©dat, the co founder of Zady, an increasingly popular sustainable fashionand lifestyle brand. Together they assessed the current state of fast fashion, the large and frantically growing market for clothing and accessory items, as well as the popular mega chains that fuel this system. The article as a whole sets out to inform more than persuade and is divided into pockets of information given by BГ©dat based on the interview questions the author asks. Essentially, this piece seeks to convince through providing information. The target audience for this piece is broad; it is us, the consumers who buy these clothing, and unknowingly, or unwillingly supports this system that is described as having devastating effects both socially and environmentally. This topic, whilst burdensome to look into is important for various reasons. Fashion is something that affects each of us on varying levels, whether you re just buying a shirt for an upcoming interview or selecting choice pieces for your extensive collection. Man s nature is not abstract; a characteristic of a certain individual. Actually it is the totally of all the social relations (Marx). In this quote the idea of man s nature that Marx has represents a revolutionary reconstruction that would have to happen in the world and the importance of education in the individual. Marx s studies the theory of the individual and mainly focus in three areas, which are the complete development of the individual, the problems of alienation and freedom. Labour for the worker is something external not belonging to his nature...in his labour he does not affirm himself, but denies himself, feels not happy, but unhappy, does not develop freely his physical and spiritual energy but wears out his physical nature and destroys his spiritual force. This is why the worker feels that he is himself only outside of working hours in the process of labour he feels he is estranged from himself. He is himself when he is not working, and when he works he is already not himself. (Marx) Marx explains the idea in how the labor workers do not own they own work. Notions of Selflessness in Sartrean Existentialism and Theravadin Buddhism ABSTRACT: In this essay I examine the relationship between Sartre s phenomenological description of the self as expressed in his early work (especially Being and Nothingness) and elements to be found in some approaches to Buddhism. The vast enormity of this task will be obvious to anyone who is aware of the numerous schools and traditions through which the religion of Buddhism has manifested itself. In order to be brief, I have decided to select specific aspects of what is commonly called the Theravadin tradition as being representative of Buddhist philosophy. Secondly, Buddhism is a religion of many sects which differ from each other in various manners. By choosing to look primarily at the Theravadin tradition, I am by necessity ignoring the viewpoints of a vast number of schools which are considered Buddhist in nature. In my view, the Theravadin sect presents a consistent Buddhist philosophy which is representative of many of the major trends within Buddhism. Sartre s method for explaining his position on the self is the phenomenological one, utilized before him by Husserl and Heidegger. Phenomenology may be defined as the descriptive analysis of subjective processes. It differs from psychology in that while psychology sets up causal or genetic laws to explain subjective processes, phenomenology merely describes. Sartre points out the intentionality of consciousness (a process earlier described by Husserl and Brentano). Consciousness is always consciousness of something. For Sartre, there exist non conscious beings independent and external to consciousness. This realm of non conscious beings is referred to by Sartre as the in itself while consciousness is referred to as the for itself. The in itself appears to consciousness and is the object of consciousness, but is transcendent in the sense that it is external to consciousness. Consciousness is not only ... • 8. Taking a Look at Islam and Judaims Introduction Apart from Christianity, Islam and Judaism are two of the most influential religions in the world, particularly in the Middle East. Although Judaism is not as large as Islam, it has impacted on the world in a profound manner. While it s quite evident that both Islam and Judaism appear to be having conflicting differences in terms of their doctrines, they are both know as Abrahamic religionsbecause they share a common origin in the Middle East through Abraham in the Hebrew Bible. Nevertheless, Judaismis often considered to be the oldest of all the Abrahamic religions. Most ethnographers have been more interested in understanding on how the convictions between the two religions compare, based on their religious believes about God, afterlife, the universe and people. This can be attributed to the fact that the conflict between Islamand Judaism has been viewed as a result of irreconcilable clash of religious doctrines. But, I do not believe that this is really the case. This essay will focus on drawing a comparison between Judaism and Islam so as to establish the similarities and differences that exist between them. The comparison will then be used to support my opinion based on the ides that these religions can live together peacefully and that they are not destined for perpetual conflict. Similarities There are several doctrines and historical events that can be linked to the two religions. Both Islam and Judaism believe in the existence of one creator ... In 1997 American children obtained 50% of their calories from added fat and sugar and only 1% of children s diets resembled the recommended proportions of the Food Pyramid. For example, Burger King then McDonald s sponsored the public television show Teletubbies (show for toddlers). McDonald s distributed toys of the four characters in their happy meals. It is estimated that advertising for children has now reached over $1 billion. The most common advertised foods seen are not surprisingly low in nutritional value; products such as, presweetened breakfast cereals, candy, fast food, sodas, cookies, and chips. Its safes to say the money isn t being spent on advertising of fruits, vegetables, bread, or fish. Another largely upsetting report found that food commercials stimulate antisocial behavior in children. Commercials aimed to children are overly dependent on socially negative material, violence, conflict, and/or trickery. Food companies purposefully entice children by placing logos on toys, games, clothing, and school supplies. They even go as far as to sponsor clubs, produce magazines, buy time in movies, obtain celebrity endorsers, and add their logo to baby bottles. The book contains an in depth, college level understanding of fair tradeand its theoretical applications on third world countries. With regards to theoretical applications, the book elaborates on the proposal, which is fair trade, and how it can initiate development in a country. Besides providing a holistic and substantive perspective on fair trade, the book also expounds on the effects of globalizationon world trade and the development of third world countries. The book is useful to the study, as it will provide a clearer and better understanding of fair trade and support the arguments in the study. The main limitation of the study is that the book covers a wide area fair trade, world trade, and third world countries, without going in depth to labor rights abuse. That left me next in the cadet chain of command. At 15 years old, this unfortunate event put me in charge of about 20 other teenagers, all reeling from the loss of our friends and youth leaders. To say nothing of the fact that getting a new role in this manner is terrible, it happened, and together we needed to help the unit recover and move on with our teenaged lives. 2.The moments that shaped my lens through which leadership is pulled into focus are plentiful and occurred over time. The first, shared above, was being thrust into a leadership role, completely unprepared for the job. The next was my becoming a Coast Guard (CG) Boat Coxswain. • 20. Frankenstein Vs. Bladerunner Essay As society changes around us, we spot things we never noticed before: high divorce rates, murder rates, and drug use just to name a few. James Riddley Scott and Mary Shelley noticed and had a fear of child abandonment. In Frankenstein, Shelley explores this subject through the viewpoint of a man, Victor, who creates a child so hideous that he cannot bear to look at it, and consequently deserts it. In Blade Runner, Scott explores this matter through a businessman, Tyrell, who makes replicants of humans, the Nexus 6, gives them only four years to live, and sells them as slaves. The children of these creators turn out to be smarter and more human than expected, and revolt against the way society treats them, giving us all a lesson in... I perceived, as the shape came nearer that it was the wretch whom I had created (98). During these confrontations both creations ask their creators to correct the flaw that has driven them to cause so much death and despair: Do your duty towards me, and I will do mine towards you and the rest of mankind. If you will comply with my conditions, I will leave them and you at peace; but if you refuse, I will glut the maw of death (99). The monster and Nexus 6 are only asking that they get what they think they deserve; a life worth living, and a life long enough to enjoy. They have lived a horrible life because of their parents, and are looking for some kind of consolation. Here we begin to see that the newly created beings have developed an awareness of their mistreatings. The parent is a way to trace a path of existence, which becomes important in both texts. The reader can infer from Offred s monologues that she, to some extent, wants to be a feminist like Moira. Moira also represents the hope and courage that other Handmaids wish to have. My essay will attempt to show the similarities that are in these two writings which seem to have been scribed at the same time or around the same time. Most similarities, of which are namely: the dates of the scribing of the two Epistles, the false doctrines of the false teachers that had come into the church, the same thoughts and expressions of their work, whether the writings are apostolic or not, and what hardships the churches or the two audiences were facing. Ethan, in the first chapter, admits to often walking Mattie, his wife s cousin, home just to spend few minutes alone with her. Essay on Oil Export for a Unified Caspian Oil Conglomerate Oil Export for a Unified Caspian Oil Conglomerate Introduction Oil resources are the focal point of almost all international disputes in the present century as every country needs oil to power its electrical grids, run its automobiles, and operate its machinery. The vast majority of accessible oil lies in the extremely unstable Middle East, whose countries form most of OPEC and have a viable monopoly on oil production and pricing. The troubles caused by this situation thus come to no surprise as high demand and monopolistic supply give omnipotent control to the supplier. • 44. A Short Story Of A Ghost Story I shall begin my story with an experience I encountered at the age of sixteen at our small town s Latin school. The sweetness of many memories from that time still stirs and touches me with melancholy: dark and well lit alleys, houses and factories, faces and chimes, rooms affluent and comfortable, snug and amenable, the whole town was pregnant with secrets. The realms of day and night, two different universes coming from two opposite poles, mingled during this time. My parents home belonged to one realm. This realm was familiar to me in many ways strictness and love, model behaviour and school. This realm was thriving in clarity, brilliance and purity, polite conversations and good manners. This was the world in which morning hymns were sung and Christmas celebrated. Straight lines and paths led into the future: there was duty, love, forgiveness, good resolutions, wisdom and reverence. If one wanted an unsullied and ordinary life, one made sure one was in league with this world. The other realm, however, was completely different: it smelt different, spoke a different language, promised and demanded different things. This world contained ghost stories, rumours of scandals and servant girls. It was dominated by a loud mixture of horrendous, intriguing, frightful, mysterious things, including slaughterhouses and prisons, drunkards and screeching fishwives, calving cows, horse sinking to their deaths, talks of robberies, murders and suicides. All these wild and cruel, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Coding Theory, Its Components And Its Practical Applications This case study covers the coding theory, its components and its practical applications. Coding theory, sometimes called logarithmic coding hypothesis, manages the configuration of lapse remedying codes for the dependable transmission of data crosswise over uproarious channels. Error coding is utilized as a part of numerous advanced provisions like workstation memory, attractive and optical information stockpiling media. The investigation of mistake rectifying codes and the cohorted arithmetic is known as coding hypothesis. In information theory, the amount of positions at which the relating images are distinctive between two strings is Hamming distance. Hamming code is a set of error correction codes that might be utilized to recognize and right bit errors that can happen when machine information is moved or put away. There is lot of examples of coding theory; one of the biggest examples of its use is in communication field, i e modulation, encryption and decryption of signal. Coding Theory A Case In 1948, Claude Shannon, working at Bell Laboratories in the USA, introduced the entire subject of coding hypothesis by indicating that it was conceivable to encode messages in such a path, to the point that the amount of additional bits transmitted was as little as would be prudent. Unfortunately, his confirmation did not give any express formulas for these ideal codes. It was two years after the fact that Richard Hamming, likewise at Bell Labs, started considering ... • 47. Alienation of Process according to Karl Marx Karl Marx discusses four forms of alienation and two of the four are equally important in the ongoing production of capitalism: alienation from the process and product one makes. From the alienation of process, the proletariat or maker is just a producer of the product. He does not have any say as to how a product should be made or improved because he is not the owner of the facilities or tools used to make the product. This can be incorporated to a worker in a factory. He or she may be given specific instructions and must follow through with the creation of the product. The entrepreneur, who owns the amenities used to make the product, has power over the labor of the workers. Therefore, entrepreneurs have the say as how the product should be developed. As a result, any completed or incomplete product is left at the hands of the entrepreneur rather than the maker. This leads to another form of alienation known as estrangement. Alienation from the product one makes, or estrangement, refers to the relationship of the manufactured goods and the maker. The proletariat may be able to put value in the product they make, but it does not necessarily mean they own the product. As a result, the higher class, in this case the entrepreneurs, makes revenue of the product produced by the maker. All profit where the workers don t own the means of production is based on exploitation (89). The proletariats, therefore, are mistreated for the entrepreneurs benefit of gaining surplus ... No, not volleyball or football season, but deer hunting. I have had good years hunting, and I have had bad years hunting, but my favorite year was my second year hunting. November 8th, 2014. The first Saturday of the deer hunting season. Opening day. It was a 20 to 30 degree Fahrenheit day. Earlier this morning, my dad and I went out hunting hoping to get something, but sadly I did not see anything sitting in the stand with my dad. Since we had a long and boring morning, my dad and I decided to head back home and rest for the night shift of hunting. When we returned home, I undressed from all my orange clothing and took a long nap. I woke up to eat lunch, which was some warm homemade soup that my mother had made my dad and I to eat for lunch. The first hour out in the stand was so boring and again. I was sitting there looking at the beautiful birch trees and the tall prairie grass surrounding the stand. On the birch trees there were many antler scrapings, which means the bucks were once here marking their territory. My deer stand is approximately 20 feet off the ground, which gives a great view of the woods. I could see my grandpa s barn, which was about a half a mile away, but I could not see his big teal house, since all the big trees were blocking my view.
