Barefoot Vs Running Shoes Research Paper
A study by the University of Colorado Boulder conducted in 2012 found that running with
running shoes, as opposed to running barefoot uses less energy and effort. One reason that
running shoes is better for your feet is that it provides protection to your feet. It also helps
prevent feet medical conditions and gives your feet cushioning. Running with running shoes
protect your feet. Running shoes are made to provide protection for your feet rather than running
barefoot. A midsole is what s protecting your feet from sharp hard objects you may accidentally
run over. It also has a cool feature were it absorbs more of the impact through every step you take.
However, it doesn t last as long so you may have to buy newer one s sooner. Running with

The Role Of Russian Government
In today s society, countries in the world are expected to provide support and freedom to residing
citizens. Democratic governance plays a strong hand in citizen representation, and is necessary for
citizens to have a voice in their government. While some countries have a smooth operating system,
many still do not. The country of Russia is under very strict control by current President, Vladimir
Putin. Many citizens of Russia want change, however, their efforts are muted by government
officials. With lack of transparency and accountability, Russian citizens are unaware of what is
actually happening in the government. Russian citizens have few individual rights that are upheld
by the constitution. While the country has worked hard to move... Show more content on

Government actions are often secretive, canceling out the idea of transparency for citizens. Often
times, positions of power or wealth in Russia have the ability to hide fraud in the system from
citizens. (Kasparov, Garry, 2007). Citizen s do not have the option to challenge unfair governmental
practices or have information provided of governmental proceedings. This reduces the amount
information citizens see and know about within the government.
While individual rights in Russia are outlined in the constitution, often times these rights are not
protected. Citizens have the ability of freedom of religion, which is one freedom stated in the
constitution they do have. Other freedoms, such as: same sex marriage, or gender discrimination
are not stated. There are currently no laws supporting or denying same sex marriage in Russia.
Homosexuals can openly serve in the military, however, it is illegal for them to wed. Women in
Russia are subject to domestic violence, sexual harassment, and rape with minimal chance of
prosecution for the accused. Women struggle finding jobs in Russia, with the fear their presence
will be lacking in the home. (Beschastna, Tatyana). The information provided allows the inference
to be made that individual rights are minimally or not at all protected. While citizens are allowed
certain liberties in the constitution, often times these laws are not upheld. Individuals

1993 World Trade Center Bombing Research Paper
The 1933 World Trade Center Bombing was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, carried
out on February 26, 1993, when a truck bomb exploded below the North Tower of the World
Trade Center in New York City. Six suspects carried out this bombing that killed six people and
injured more than 1000 people. Ramzi Yousef was one of the main perpetrators of this 1993
bombing. His reasoning behind it was to get back at the United Statesfor aiding Israel and making
the Palestinian people suffer. The 1993 World Trade Center
Bombing impacted America socially,
economically, and politically.

Government officials estimated that it would be unlikely that the cost of the bombing reach the
record $15 billion in losses from Hurricane Andrew. However, the destruction will by far exceed
the $330 million in losses caused by a flood in downtown Chicago. The 1993 World Trade Center
bombing caused $1.1 billion dollars in insured losses. This includes $317 million in relocation
expenses, $318 million in lost business and lost labor, and $79 million in lost retail sales. The
bombing shaped up to be one of New York Citys most costly financial disruptions. Business at the
World Trade Center had come to a screeching stop. The bombing affected many businesses,
including banks, retail stores, hotels, restaurants etc. More than 350 businesses hoped that the
bombing would be covered by insurance. Some businesses are concerned that insurers will not
pay all their expenses leaving them to pay for it themselves. Insurance rates drastically increased
for businesses inside and outside of New York City. Stores have seen business drop by 50 to 90
percent, forcing some layoffs. Jon Torres, manager of Lynn s Hallmark card shop said that his
business was off by 92 percent. They opened right away, but there was no traffic, just a few
curious people. Torres had to lay off 21 of his employees. I had 28 employees, and I m working
with about 7. They keep calling to see if they should come in, but I ve got nothing for them to
do, says Torres. Like Torres, many businesses are anxious about when they will return to normal.
The New York Vista Hotel that sits above the site of the explosion, which is now vacant, is losing
$150,000 to $250,000 a day. It may cost more than a couple hundred million to repair the hotel if
the structural damage is severe. Not only did workers and companies leave behind their offices
and records, but they also lost their cars. Don C. Becker, President of The Journal of Commerce

The Long Term And Short Term Effects Of Grade Skipping Essay
The effects of grade skipping has been the focus of many researchers. Some want to find out if
students who skip a grade are more likely to have advanced math skills, and if that would result
in them going on to make contributions to the STEM field. Others want to know if and how it
affects other aspects of the student, such as their language skills. In these studies, researchers
investigate these questions to determine the both the long term and short term effects of grade
skipping. Park, Benbow, and Lubunski (2013) used the Study of Mathematically Precocious
Youth, a 40 year longitudinal study, to determine if skipping a grade has long term effects on
performance in STEM fields. The main goal was to find if individuals who skipped a grade after
identification at or before thirteen years of age were more likely to receive advanced degrees
and accomplishments in STEM fields, reach those achievements faster than their peers who did
not skip a grade, and were more productive in their careers at midcareer. Participants were chosen
from the first three cohorts of the previous study, and were only used if they scored 390 or higher
on the math subtest of the SAT. In the present study, to determine the accomplishments of the
participants, they were given surveys to complete at age 33 that determined the degrees earned by
each participant. Their names were entered into databases to see if they completed a dissertation or
master s thesis, and were also entered into Google Scholar

The Pros And Cons Of Child Pornography
In most states, teenagers who send or receive sexually explicit photographs via cell
phone, known as sexting , risk felony child pornography charges and the stigma of being listed
on the sex offender registry for life. The fact that sexting can fall under child pornography laws
has created some heated conversations and understandably so. There are numerous thoughts and
opinions on the matter. The majority of the time, sexting in teenagers isn t meant to be
malicious, isn t child pornography therefore shouldn t carry such a like punishment.
Teenagers sending a sext to another teenager isn t meant as a malicious act but rather a
way of flirting and letting the other person know they are interested in them in most cases.
While this behavior may cross moral lines it should not ruin their lives as a blatant crossing of
legal lines. If messages containing sexually explicit pictures, or videos are sent between teens
are meant to hurt someones reputation then that is a different story. Many states today are
struggling to write laws that create clear lines regarding this problem. Sexting can be very
serious and certainly needs to be addressed however, in the meantime, we cannot be putting
children behinds bars or labeling them as sex offenders.
Typical teenage sexting is not child pornography. Child pornography is a criminal
offense and is defined by HG.org as any visual depiction involving the use of a minor, or one
appearing to be a minor, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Visual depictions include
photographs, film, video, pictures or computer generated images or pictures, whether made or
produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means. This is a clear definition of an act. Sexting
with teenagers today is more of a flirtatious way to start a relationship or to maintain a
3
relationship with another teenager. Most sext messages contain images meant to entice the other
person into wanting to spend more time with the sending individual. They are desires to
attract another, not images of sexual acts and therefore should not be considered child
pornography.
Sexting laws are very new and are not clearly defined yet, therefore should not

I. Background Of Airlines Industry
Airlines Industry is large and growing, it is also the most fiercely competitive sector. It facilitates
international trade, world economy growth, tourism and international investment. The airline
industry has over time with the use of modern technology been able to take advantage of the short
haul, high frequency and gained a competitive advantage over other forms of travel, such as buses
and railroad travel. Additionally, the airlineindustry still holds the market for global travel at a low
cost and convenient way to travel. The aviation industry gives a good contribution to the GDP
which includes the following: airline services, general aviation, civil airport operations, aircraft

2. Porter s Five Forces Analysis
It analyses the micro environment of the business i.e. its competitiveness, attractiveness and
profitability.
a. Emirates Supplier Power
The supplier power in airlines is dominated by the world s two largest aircraft manufacturers are
Airbus and Boeing. The competition between the two manufacturers is neck to neck but that
would prove to be a boon for Emirates as the prices would not rocket through the ceiling. A study
shows that Emirates holds 93 Boeing aircrafts and 83 Airbus units (Planespotters, 2009). In 2007,
Emirates purchased 81 Airbus flights, to extend it services however, they chose Airbus over
Boeing as the latter failed to deliver its latest aircrafts on time and moreover, Airbus had quoted a
good price (Barryl, 2007). The changing oil prices also have an adverse effect on the aviation
industry. In a nutshell, the bargaining power of suppliers is high. Buyer Power
There are 2 direct flights from Dubai to Hong Kong weekly, rest are 35 are via flights. Fares vary
according to demand, but Emirates not being a budget airline its buyers do not really influence the
price. Further more, a Travel Survey concluded that above 60% of the travellers preferred Emirates
Airlines to any other international Airlines (Glass, 2008).
However, one could opt for an indirect flight if tariffs are concerned or if they wish a stop

Pigs in Heaven Essay
A Family Of Two Worlds When one is raised in a single family, life appears simple. The person
has developed an attachment to their parents. He or she is also familiar with one particular
society, and the norms of that society are established in their mindset. However, when a second
family from an entirely different culture enters the picture, the simple life becomes more
complicated. The cultures of the two families are so different that they clash with one another,
leaving the one person between it all. It is a dilemma that a six year old girl named Turtle Greer
must experience in the novel, Pigs In Heaven, by Barbara Kingsolver. Turtle is a young girl who
was adopted by a loving mother named Taylor Greer. The two had lived... Show more content on

She will not have enough understanding of the traditions and lifestyles of her people to actually
feel like a part of the tribe. Again, she will feel out of place within that society. This leads to the
third issue, where Turtle will undergo confusion of where she fits in. If she feels like a fish out
of water in both cultures, she will experience a lowering of self esteem and sense of identity. It is
also likely that she, like other transracial adoptees, ...will not be comfortable with [her] own racial
culture (Adamec, par. 6). All of these challenges relate to Turtle s conflict of self identity and
belonging to a particular culture. The shared custody also provides some positive outcomes. One of
them is that Turtle will not be separated from Taylor. Taylor has been a loving, caring, and
supportive mother to Turtle. She also has been ...the only mother [Turtle has] ever known for the
past three years (Kingsolver 337), thus there is a strong attachment between the two. Separating
them would cause long time traumatic effects on Turtle, so the split custody will allow the mother
and daughter to stay together. Another positive outcome would be that Turtle will gain all the
benefits of being a Cherokee Indian. As a member of the tribe, she will have certain advantages that
people of white society will not be able to obtain. Such benefits include

Justification Of The Colonists During The American Revolution
American Revolution was a dispute between the mother countries and the colonies. The American
colonists were more justified in their actions during the American Revolution. The British were
very unfair with the colonists. American colonists had others ruling them. Colonists should ve
planned out an avenge against the British and could ve gotten British government from a ruler to a

soldiers to enter the colonists homes to collect taxes, British also tried to change the government

The Purpose of Propaganda in Today s Society
Propaganda in today s society serves the same purpose as it did many years ago, and that purpose is
to promote a fitting solution to a problem or to sell an idea or item. There are various types of
propaganda in the world. The main way that propaganda is advertised would be the media.
Whether it be television, newspapers, radio etc . the promoter advertiser will always find a way to
promote their idea or product. You also have seven basic sections or types of propaganda; transfer,
testimonial, glittering generalities, plain folks, bandwagon, name calling and card stacking. Each
of these is used in propaganda whether it is current and modern art forms such as Nikeв„ў
commercials or from 100 years ago in political cartoons. Each of the seven types of propaganda
differs and is unique in their its own way. Propaganda is, has always been, and shall continue to
be, a huge part of the advertising world of society.
Transfer is a type of propaganda in which the media utilizes a person or object that people find
good natured or intriguing, and they associate the person or object with a product. In this form of
propaganda, symbols are constantly being utilized. Most political campaign promotion posters
contain the transfer category. Some ads such as icy hot and cleaning products use well known
people or well known people s names to promote their product. Take Shaquille O Neal s
commercials for the Icy Hot patches for example. People pay attention to the ad because they see

Marilyn Monroe Emotional Issues
One of the things a woman wants most in this world is for someone to relate and/or understand
her. Ever since I can remember, I ve had that one person to look up to that I felt could relate to me.
As long as I can remember, that person was Marilyn Monroe. At about the age of 5, I saw her face
on the television screen and by about the age of 12 years old, I was researching all I could about
her. The more I learned about her, the more my love grew for her and the more I knew she would
understand me if she were here today. Marilyn Monroewas an iconic celebrity but also very
relatable to the average woman who deals things such as tough emotional issues, harsh body image
problems and having a hard time trusting people or building relationships.
Everyone has issues that we deal with; we re only human, right? The emotional issues we deal
with daily can be anger, sadness, depression, etc. Marilyn dealt with these emotions as much as
anyone else, but there was a time she had said, I am not a victim of emotional conflicts. I am
human . She understood that as a human being, we all have emotional problems, but it s how
one deals with their emotions that matters. These emotional issues can stem from many different
situations or moments in our life. Dealing with a bully in school, an abusive parent or whatever
it may be, can cause these issues. Unfortunately, Marilyn had to deal with emotional issues
stemming form the relationship with her mother. One of Marilyn s family members was quoted
saying: Gladys didn t hug, kiss or smile, Marilyn s niece, Mona Rae Miracle, exclusively tells
Closer. She was delusional, and she heard voices from electrical appliances. She was antisocial
and unable to express any emotion, except anger . Marilyn s mother s inability to feel or express
emotions was of no benefit to the growth of an impressionable girl such as Marilyn. Marilyn
unfortunately paid dearly from this and grew up battling her emotions all of the time. So, knowing
what we ve learned so far, there s no doubt that Marilyn Monroe dealt with the same kind of
problems your average jane deals with.
Emotional issues wouldn t be the only way for Marilyn to relate to us average Janes these days,
because she

Catcher In The Rye And Donnie Darko Analysis
Texts cannot exist outside their context; texts implicitly and explicitly embody the values of the
society of which they are written. Both The Catcher in the Rye and Donnie Darko depict the
societal norms of the period the texts were set in. However, Salinger s novel and Kelly s film both
portray the protagonist of their text to be classified an outsider; subverting norms and rebelling
against those in power. Catcher in the Rye, a bildungsroman masterpiece is set in the late 1940 s in
America, and consequently, focuses on the contextual ideology of the American Dream. Donnie
Darkoa sci.fi film made in 2001 however, is set in a period of conservatism in America in the late
1980 s. Despite, differing contexts, both pieces accurately explore the beneficial and dire
implications associated with transgressing social conventions.
Donnie Darko, the namesake of the film and his anti institutional behaviour provides insight into
the perils and prospects of going against society. Despite the film s release in 2001, Kelly placed
the film in 1988 to project his message on the family values agenda, a consequence of political
oppression with wide spread support for the conservatives. The main advocates behind this notion
in the film are seen to be Mrs Farmer and Cunningham, both of whom Darko viewed as forces of
tyranny and solely challenges. Donnie may have had a suburban upbringing, however, Donnie will
have no part in withholding traditional family values, where he is seen to take

Byzantium Quotes
The novel Byzantium by Stephen R. Lawhead is a story about many things; it is a tale of
adventure and battle but also the story of one barbarian named Gunnar. In part one of Byzantium he
is ruthless, capturing and looting, participating in fights, raids and slavery. But as the book goes on
Gunnar begins to convert the more he sees what Aidan s, the main character, religionis like.
In part one of the book Aidan s ship of monks is attacked by a group of vicious Dutch pirates
called Sea Wolves. But they all get caught in a storm, and Aiden wakes up on the beach. He sees
a seawolf on the beach and saves him, the seawolf wakes up after Aiden tries to take his knife
away but they see each other and seem to have a mutual agreement to just sit. Aiden and the Sea
Wolf are not alone for long, the group of monks having seen one of their friends down the beach
and abandoning Aiden earlier. But when the priests do come back they scold Aiden for saving the
barbarian, saying things like Leave it to Aiden to save a Sea Wolf... . And then the monks decide
to take the barbarian prisoner, which doesn t end well for them. At this point in the story when
religion, represented by the group monks is not present the barbarian and Aiden are peaceful. But
as soon as the priests show back up they decide to take the barbarian prisoner. This is a good
representation of why the barbarian would later have a bad attitude towards Aiden s religion. After
this the group comes across a village,

Teaching is a complex and developing process. The complexity of teaching increases when a
teacher focuses on; raising his or her teaching standards, assessment and student achievement,
changes in curriculum models, changes in subject specification and on the different experiences
every classroom presents. Therefore, for a teacher s professional development and effective
performance, refining, reviewing and proper planning of his or her teaching process and techniques
is important. Additionally, pedagogical approaches and techniques are significant in a teacher s
professional development. Effective and efficient teachers promote high quality and effective
learning. Knowledge, decisions and actions, are the major qualities a teacher should adapt, so as to
be a more effective and professional teacher.
Teachers can become effective and skillful teachers by promoting quality learning and creating
effective learning situations. Quality learning can be achieved by the use of teaching models which
assist a student to understand the subject being taught. Additionally, the teaching models can help a
student support his or he own learning, whether the teacher is around or not. The teaching models
may include inductive teaching, which helps the students think inductively, by sorting and
generating rules and hypothesis. Inductive teaching assists the students in solving problems and

Sales Ethics Is an Oxymoron
Is Sales Ethics an Oxymoron?
Globalization highlighted the ethical issues and concerns for every individual organization,
multinational organizational conduct their operations under ethical code of conduct to confine the
issues faced by unethical conducts. Many organizations such as pharmaceutical firms, technological
firms and financial firms pay more attentions to ethical behavior to ensure the sales to consumers
have been impeccably ethical. However managers pay attention to behavioral ethical conducts that
ensure the professional attitude of sales force towards consumers/customers (Chen amp; Tang,

Teven and Winters, (2007, 10), also indicated that sales representatives some time use non verbal

ethics is not a term that we can t join together but however on the other hand it difficult to be
ethical in sales, business pays more attention to sales ethics because it has serious consequence on
code of conduct of business. Moreover enormous organization induce small organization and
supplier as well as consumer to shape up the relation, or directly and indirectly shape up the sales

many factors affecting the business activity, which directly or indirectly shape up the ethical code

Cardiovascular Disease Essay example
Cardiovascular Disease in the African American Community
Causes, Preventions, and Treatments
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) refers to the dysfunctional conditions of the heart, arteries, and veins
that supply oxygen to vital life sustaining areas of the body like the brain, the heart itself and other
vital organs. Since the term cardiovascular disease refers to any dysfunction of the cardiovascular
system there are many different diseases in the cardiovascular category, and many of these
diseases are strongly intertwined. Ischemic Heart Disease is the medical idiom for the obstruction
of blood flow to the heart. It is usually due largely in part to excess fat or plaque deposits that

The body is often able to mask the subtle damage due to the extra work the cardiovascular system is
undergoing, but not forever, and for that reason hypertension is often referred to as the silent killer .
In fact, approximately 27% of African Americans with hypertension are unaware of their
condition. Unfortunately, many times the first warning signs of hypertension are angina attack,
stroke, or even myocardial infarction, all severe cardiovascular diseases. Dyslipidemia is defined
as a total cholesterol level greater than 200 mg/dl., LDL cholesterol above 130 mg/d, HDL
cholesterol bellows 35 mg/dl; and a lipoprotein level greater than 30 mg/dl. An elevated cholesterol
level rigorously lends itself towards conditions such as atherosclerosis, which can in turn lead to
more serious CVDs. However, cholesterol is not actually a damage mechanism but rather a risk
factor for increased risk of heart disease. In many aspects of health and disease, biological and
genetic variables are considered to be the most important in reaching a medical solution to a
problem. Nevertheless, evidence suggests that social disparities between African Americans and
the rest of the American population may have a greater influence over disease prevalence then
genetic differences. It is common knowledge, that as a race African Americans are far more likely

Analysis Of Full Metal Jacket
There are films created for almost every historical event, even more so if the event majorly
impacted people on a national scale. The amount of films dedicated to different wars seems
endless, with ever way having at least two different view there is always more options to create
a movie on the same war only putting different spin on it. The movie that I have chosen that
represents a part of the 1960 s is Full Metal Jacket produced by Stanley Kubrick. The movie is
centered around one individual, Joker, who starts off in marine corps boot camp and then
eventually is sent to Vietnam. Full Metal Jacket showcases a seemingly accurate view of how
soldiers viewed the war, and what they go through. The movie is separated into two parts, boot
camp and then working in Vietnam. Full Metal Jacket is based on an adaption of the book The
Short Timers by Gustav Hasford which is a semi autobiographical novel. Only a portion of the
60 s was captured in Full Metal Jacket, however, it gives great insight on soldiers view on the
war. The first half of the movie is depicting the abuse and struggles of marine corps boot camp.
The movie beings with drill sergeant Hartman belittling all the individuals who came into boot
camp, he calls them worthless and degrades them. The harshness of Hartman may seem over
exaggerated, however, from growing up with a father in the military and hearing stories of his days
in boot camp, I know that Hartman s attitude was only slightly exaggerated. Leonard, who is

Cole s carriage horses returning from exercise, or a stray letter boy on an obstinate mule, were
the liveliest objects she could presume to expect; and when her eyes fell only on the butcher with
his tray, a tiny old woman travelling homewards from the shop with her full basket, two curs
quarrelling over a dirty bone, and a string of dawdling children round the baker s little bow

quite enough still to stand at the door .
In such a narrow society gossip helps to relieve the tedium. This gossip may be harmless Mr.
Frank Churchill s coming to visit his father and stepmother; speculation about Mr. Elton s fiancee,
Miss Augusta Hawkins of Bristol; excited accounts (becoming more and more exaggerated with
each telling) of Harriet s gallant rescue from the gypsies by Frank Churchill. However, gossip can
also be malicious, as we shall see when Emma confides in Frank Churchill her unfounded suspicion
that Jane Fairfax s pianoforte is a gift from a secret admirer, Mr. Dixon, husband of Jane s dearest

Highbury society can also be unbearably claustrophobic. This is symbolically highlighted when
Emma is trapped alone with Mr. Elton in her carriage on the journey home from the Christmas Eve

High school walks us by our hand, babysitting us while in our teens, up until our post high school

A young adult may be shocked to learn that a credit score can either set you on the right track
when financing or undermine your finances. The graduate should learn how to maintain a great
credit score and have the knowledge of the results it comes with. A credit score can help the adult
determine how much interest is going to be applied when making big purchases. Furthermore it can
also help the adult if there s ever any intention of buying a car or house. Unfortunately a high school
does not teach students the benefits of good credit, or how to even maintain good credit as a
result of lack of knowledge this can cause young graduates to pass their credit limit and have a
bad record of credit score. Students are only taught how to work with interest percentages, seeing
how much a price drops or increases, but never taught the practical use of a credit card. Due to
never being taught about credit the young graduate has a higher chance of going over the set limit
and setting damage to their credit

The Genre Of Horror Films
First of all, genre is the method categorized a film based on similarities in the narrative elements.
There are a wide range of different types of film genres: detective, action, adventure, gangster or
crime, science fiction, drama, horror, romance, comedy, musical and so on. It is quite difficult to
identify a particular filmbecause a film might have a few of different genres. That is the reason
why sub genres exist. Sub genres can help us to more clarity in identify the genreof a film. For
example, a horror filmmight involve supernatural.thriller, mystery or others. Horror is a classical
genre that has now become far more popular with audiences than perhaps at any other time in its
history. This genre has been around since 1890s and it is one of the oldest genres from
Hollywood. The iconic theme across horror films is usually revolved around mirror, superhuman
killer, curse and so on. The ending will always like return to normalcy and victory over the
monstrous. I believe that this is the ending which most audiences wish to be. There are a few of
sub genres in horror films which are slasher flicks, supernatural and psychological and they are
widely adapted in hybrid films nowadays. Slasher flicks as known as massacre is a type of
horror film that usually involves murders killing the victims in a violent manner and usually with
a tool like knife, axe or others. For examples are serial killer and mass murder. For psychological

How Does Daniel Chandler Use Semiotics In John Q
Signs can take many forms and how we interpret them can vary as well. The 2002 film, John Q, is
a complex story with many signs that convey a warning message. The film gives a warning and
helps the audience come to an understanding of how fundamentally flawed our medical system is.
We will use semiotics and dialogism to understand how the filmJohn Q signifies the importance of a
comprehensive medical system in America.
Prior to looking at the plot of the film, we must first define semiotics and its components. In Daniel
Chandler s book, The Basics: Semiotics, he states that semiotics is the study of signs (Chandler
2007). He continues to elaborate that semiotics involves the study of not only of what we refer to

Module III: Tradable Renewable Certificates and Certified Emission Reductions in
Montenegro Part A CDM in Montenegro
Draft Page 2 of 11
Introduction
The Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change calls for the
industrialized countries listed in Annex I of the Convention to reduce their greenhouse gas
emissions to 1990 levels during the period of 2008 2012. The three flexible mechanisms of the
Kyoto Protocol allow Annex I countries to achieve part of their emission reduction commitments
abroad. The CDM allows an Annex I Party to implement a project that reduces greenhouse gas
emissions or, subject to constraints, removes greenhouse gases by carbon sequestration, or sinks, in
the territory of a non Annex I Party. The resulting certified emission reductions, known as CERs,
can then be used by the Annex I Party to help meet its emission reduction target. The host country
will benefit from the increased investment flows and from the transfer of clean technologies
instrumental to advance the sustainable development goals.
All countries wishing to participate in the CDM have to designate a National CDM Authority with
the task of evaluating and approving the projects. This authority is termed the
Designated National Authority (DNA). The main tasks to be carried out by the DNA for the
CDM are to provide written approval to the project participants that participation by the Host
country is voluntary and to

Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare
Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by Shakespeare Research
shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good sources for accurate rendering of
historical events. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all
subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the
past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his
famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate
sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is
Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition.
Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical
figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source
used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of
Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of
Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with
Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person
at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. Both
Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his
valor as well martial

beat up people when they were making fun of Zero Stanley just reminded them that someone

he could help him survive out in the wild and not become buzzard food. Those 3 reasons are why

Proximity is the way we view things which are close together as a group or look closer than they
actually are. Continuity is taking more of an interest in a straight smooth lines rather than rigid
and rapidly changing lines. Symmetry is when a shape or object is repeated on both sides to
make it a mirror image. We see symmetrical shapes easily than unsymmetrical shapes. Similarity
is objects and shapes placed together as they look similar, where as dissimilar objects are likely
to be viewed individually. There are also laws that relate to common groupings. Fate is when we
see objects that move together as a group. Region is when objects are enclosed together
somehow as a group. And connected is when we see objects connected by continuous lines.
Objects GUI is built using a number of separate objects. Each object is used in a clear order. So
images are layered. It is important that images appear in order and overlay the first image, or
else an interface may look as an incomplete object to the user. If images are positioned behind or
in front of text, then the whole interface will not be able to be seen. Therefore GUI should appear
in front of text on the desktop and not behind existing images on the desktop. Furthermore if the
positioning of the objects has not been precisely arranged then the GUI or parts of the GUI may
not appear behind the main screen. This leads to the user not being able to access the full range of
commands. Another thing is the

The Market of Rental Units
Rental Units are the large part of USA housing market. Nearly one third of American households
rent, and over 14 percent of households live in a rental apartments. The following chart list that
35% of population rents, which does not seem much in comparison to 65% of house owners but
they also contribute a lot to this society. Multifamily housing has high potential for energy savings
through retrofits, but the lack of data on best practices and historical cost savings has weakened
investment. Data related to energy efficiency, utilities and construction is really difficult to obtain
for a building, as many multifamily owners and operators never benchmark the energy performance
of their building. This critical shortage of information about building energy performance has
prevented property markets from valuing energy efficiency and severely undermined both public
and private efforts to increase the energy efficiency of multifamily housing. This has really affected
the development of energy efficient and green policies in multi family building. Green building is
about improving our design and construction practices so that the multifamily homes we build
today will last longer, cost less to operate, and won t harm the health of workers and residents. It is
also about protecting natural resources and improving the built environment so that ecosystems,
people, enterprises and communities can thrive and prosper. Many a times what happens is there is

In 2005, the discussion of upgrading the wireless system to the standard WAP was raised in the

the main TJX server, then downloaded card information with their program installed onto the server.
Since the hackers had access to the main database, they were able to modify and delete log files
and to move data to hide their movements. This could be one of the reasons why it took the

The Bebop and Cool Jazz Eras of the 40’s and 50’s Essay
Jazz music of the 1940 s and 1950 s was defined by a history of change since its beginning at the
dawn of the 20th century. Almost every decade brought a new flavor to the movement, and by the
1940 s jazz had developed into a mature, complex form of music, with many nuances and avenues
for continued change. It is important to trace the early movements in jazzto better understand the
innovations of the Bebop and Cool jazz eras of the 40 s and 50 s.
The first appearance of jazz was at the turn of the century in New Orleans and is called Dixieland
Jazz, or Classic Jazz. It developed out of music for street parades in the black community. It also
had deeper roots in a style of music called Blues, which was used to express the ... Show more

This more stable style invited dance, and the swing era is also associated with a dance craze,
carried out in dance halls and clubs. Duke Ellington got his start in the swing era, as one of the
earliest musicians to create the big band effect (Verve).
World War II changed the jazz world again and influenced the development of Bebop. As the war
took away many of the musicians that made up the big band groups of the swing era, a new style
emerged that again used smaller groups and younger musicians. Some musicians who got their start
in this way include Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Red Rodney (Verve).
The Bebop era marked an important change the style of jazz music. Due to the smaller size of the
bands, there was more room for improvisation, and the music began to take on more complicated
dimensions than it had seen thus far. During the swing era, jazz had been associated with dancing,
and was played in dance halls and cabarets. In the Bebop era, it began to move away from this
function and began to develop more complicated tempos and melodies (Verve).
Jazz was still growing in the 1950 s and began to incorporate the innovations of the Bebop era
with the more melodic elements of the earlier eras. The result was a period called the Cool period.
The jazz of the Cool period favored a more even beat and softened the sounds of the instruments

As a leader in our church, after attending the program in Clinical Pastoral Education, I
learned so much about self. Self awareness is a major growing edge in anyones

I learned that when dealing with conflict, I had the tendency to shy away or pretend as

Therefore, in order for my organization or ministry to be
successful, I must always be honest about my weaknesses and create a safe environment
so that others may experience that safe haven in order for us to build a trust with one
another.
I believe if trust is absent, the foundation for building goes out the window. I agree
with Patrick Lecioni, members of great teams trust one another on a fundamental,
emotional level, and they are comfortable being vulnerable with each other about their
weaknesses, mistakes, fears, and behaviors.
When we as leaders are able to embrace such a bond with a team, this creates a safe
environment for sharing, venting, and expressing true feelings about new ideas and
thoughts.
So with all of that put in place, it is important for leaders to start off being
honest about their weaknesses and strengths. Hopefully, this would open the floor for
other team members to be honest about theirs.
We will set the ground rules, which would included boundaries and will know that we
are to be committed to factors set in place. Each team member should express openly
what team means to them and what do they call a team.
We should be clear about what each person is expecting from the team and if they
agree with the terms addressed. We should always revisit our ground rules to make sure
we are moving forward with our goals and our time frame

Out Of This Furnace By Thomas Bell Essay
Out of this Furnace is a fictional novel by Thomas Bell which is based on true events from the
18th century. It is a well written tale of Slovak immigrants who came to the United States in search
of better opportunities than they had in their old country. The story revolves around four main
characters: Djuro Kracha, Kracha s daughter Mary, Mary s husband, Mike Dobrejcak, and, their son
Dobie. As history tells us, many early immigrants who moved to America had either of these
motives: financial prosperity, social status and societal freedom. Similarly, as the story unfolds, we
see that all of these characters became subject to harsh conditions and that each of them went
through their own version of struggle. This novelhas succeeded in enlightening us about the great
effort that these Slovak immigrants made against the issues that encountered them in America.
They faced numerous hardships in the form of underpaid and unsafe jobs, poor residence and
other types of inequalities. Kracha, like most of the immigrants, moved to America by boat in
1881 for financial growth, because of the opportunities in his old country, Hungary, were too
scarce for him to climb the financial ladder. He had a wife back at home, who at the time was
pregnant. During this time, America opened its borders to a wave of immigrants, who were mainly
inexperienced laborers. As America was stepping into the age of industrialization, the demand for
cheaper labor went up and therefore, to meet this

Historical Context Of The Treaty Of Versailles
Treaty of Versailles: Historical Context Ninety eight years ago, after the fighting of World War I
subsided, the Treaty of Versailles ( the Treaty ) was signed at the Palace of Versailles in France
by the Allied powers and Germany. The compromise of the Treaty is that it ended World War I.
The conflict of the Treaty is that it fed the German s hate for the Allied Powers and, in turn, was
the cause of World War II. In their hearts was a stern resolution that the fiasco of November 11,
1918, would not be repeated for all serious people in America, as in all nations, remembered that
much hailed Versailles Treaty was sown the very seeds of World War II (Library Of Congress.

David Lloyd George, the Prime minister of Britain, Georges Clemenceau, the French Prime

Treaty. Woodrow Wilson
, the United States president at the time, also took part in the writing of the

hardships and difficult times that Frederick Douglass went through as a slave, better than

Talbot County, Maryland around the year 1817 or 1818. Soon after Douglass was born, he was

Frederick Douglass appears to be rather smart and well minded compared to the other slaves. He
was briefly taught how to read and write by Sophia Auld. Once Sophia s husband, Douglass
master, found out she was teaching him how to read and write, he immediately ordered her to
stop teaching. Douglass stated, The very decided manner with which he spoke, and strove to
impress his wife with the evil consequences of giving me instruction, served to convince me that
he was deeply sensible of the truths he was uttering . What he most dreaded, that I most desired.
What he most loved, that I most hated. That which to him was a great evil, to be carefully
shunned, was to me a great good, to be diligently sought; and the argument which he so warmly
urged, against my learning to read, only served to inspire me with a desire and determination to

strong his motivation was to better his life. Soon after that, Douglass was able to teach himself a
bit more on how to read and write. He was a smart man, and he was very knowledgeable. After
seeing the gruesome shooting of Demby by Mr. Gore, Douglass was able to reenact the scene,

physical, psychological, and emotional impacts on humans (Equine Connection web site). Thus,
horses have an important role in the therapies, because of their ability of making excellent

disorders such as mental, physical, physiological, emotional and speech. Another condition that
makes them a favorable therapyoption is the similarities of behaviour that we have. For example,

was over, the Allied Powers claimed their victory.
World War 1, also known as The war to end all wars or The Great war was an international conflict
between several countries. It all began when Archduke Franz Ferdinand, nephew of Emperor Franz
Josef and heir to the Austro Hungarian Empire, was assassinated on the 28th of June 1914
alongside his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg. After the incident, the outbreak of World War 1
sparked and impacted various countries, including Australia, significantly. ... Show more content on

Several volunteers hurried to recruit for the war, which was expected to be finished before
Christmas. At that time, Australia s population was under 5 million people, over 416 809 men

Reactivities Of Some Alkyl Halides
Karen Dennie
Professor Tjandra
Chemistry 75A
Due: November 18, 2013
Experiment 20: Reactivities of Some Alkyl Halides
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to examine the reactivities of various alkyl halides
under both SN2 and SN1 reaction conditions. The alkyl halides will be examined based on the
substrate types and solvent the reaction takes place in.
Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled
accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1
bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml
of 15% sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the
test tube labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to
mix thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions
formed a precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a
hot bath at about 50В°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and
allowed to cool. If any test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. For
the second part of the experiment, again six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to
test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro
2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six

Toy Stimulates The Child With A Great Deal Of Muscle Tone...
This toy would facilitate a child with a great deal of muscle tone development. Muscle tone is the
amount tension in a muscle during rest. This toy stimulates the child to develop muscle tone
though the actions of sitting on the floor in front of the toy, sitting upright on top of the toy,
keeping their hands on the handlebars or the lid of the compartment to keep it open and keeping
their legs down and on the ground when sitting on the car. To play with this toy while in sitting,
either in the front of the car or to the side to play with the buttons on the dashboard, the child
needs to maintain an upright posture. This upright posture allows the child to be at the proper eye
level and also allows their hands to be at toy level as well. This also applies to when the child is
sitting on the toy; for the child to get the most benefit out of the buttons, keys, knob, leverand
handlebars, the child needs to be sitting in the upright position on the toy. The child s muscletone
development can also be encouraged by maintaining a gross grasp on the handlebars as well as
extended shoulders to maintain the proper arm position. This also applies when the child must
hold the lid of the seat open to place objects inside or to look inside. Lastly, the child must be
able to keep their legs stable on either side of the car while sitting on it. Tone is needed for this
skill so that the child can maintain their position as well as stabilize themselves. The child could be

Canadian Narrative
It was a cool September morning in the 19th century, the brisk, dry breeze of Kentucky s
Autumn winds struck my face. It woke me from my slumber within the dark, forlorning cave.
The dim glow of dawn s sunrise was refreshing, it gave me a sense of hope that... maybe I could
survive running away from my master and live in freedom. Maybe I truly could make it to
Canada, it may be getting cold, but temperature could only douse my hope for so long. Standing
and brushing the leaves off from my dress, I gathered myself and headed out onto the
Underground Railroad; my path to liberty. The leaves crunched and tattered beneath my feet,
and the comfort of the cave walls were left behind me. I couldn t hide forever, I had to face the
harsh reality that there was going home now. It s unfortunate why I had to take the railroad, they
were going to sell me to the Carolina s for my learning. And we all know South Carolina is the
deepest south you can get. All I could do at this point as I continued my journey was pray, pray to
the lords above that I could survive this. No bountyhunters could track me, no... Show more content

I stiffened in horror, I felt the blood in my body just pause out of sheer terror of what was coming.
I could hear my beating heart in my ears when the soldiers looked up as well, it almost seemed in
slow motion when the bounty hunter lifted his gun. And shot the very branch I was standing on
down, I was lucky to not have been hit with the bullet. But I was very, very unlucky getting
caught. I felt the cold, harsh grasp of the metal shackles hug my wrists. The warm hunter s hand
pressed on my small back, and I was forced forward. The other hand had hold of the shackle s chain.
Everything I promised... Everything I hoped for, I felt it melt away into all but a sad dream as I
was pushed the other way. I knew what was coming; a welcome back home ... for

Analysis Of Canada s Aging Population
Canada is experiencing a rapid growth in aging population and it is not going to slow down
anytime soon. In 1851 there were about 65, 000 seniors in Canada and the number in 2014 is 5.57
million.[1] In 2036 the elders will be over ten million and by 2051 one in every four Canadians will
be a senior [2].
Many believe that the aging population is a big crisis. Aging population does put pressure on the
government limiting financial resources particularly in the healthcare system. Half of the
healthcare system is used by seniors and it is expected to grow. (In text citation) Another
economic impact is the rise in taxes. If the retirement age doesn t change the people are exceeding
the life expectancy and there is going to be a lot of people

Lancet Tone Deafness
Tone Deafness
Few people know the range of the different types of tone deafness. However, many people think
they have it. Tone deafness is does not refer to a problem with the ears, but to a lack of training.
Tone deafness is easy to fix by training the ears and the vocal muscles. Lancet is a music
professor in Boston who is tone deaf (Lancet 2001). Lancet express, tone deafness is a term that
tends to be applied indiscriminately to a constellation of music processing, perceptual, and
production deficits (Lancet 2001). This paper will examine the tone deafness real life terms, the
past and current research, and current direction which all contribute to its need for exploration.

Singing is optional. Reaching for things is not. We all develop hand eye coordination as a part of
our basic survival skills. Nevertheless, we could go our whole lives without singing and be fine.
We want to sing, but we have to make a conscious effort to learn. Some people make this effort as
children, and we assume they were born with it. This is not so. As with anything, it comes more
naturally to some than to others, but we all have to learn. Numerous people believe that tone
deafness does not exist. Many people believe that they are tone deaf (Lancet 2001). Nevertheless, I
do not believe that they are tone deaf, in other words, people who will never be able to learn to
distinguish between notes.
Many of the tone deaf people have been able to work on their problem, and by correcting their
singing techniques, as well as releasing their constrictions, they have learned to sing in tune.
Tone deaf singers often have severe constrictions around their vocal cords (Gandour, 2000).
Usually they have had these tensions for such a long time that they no longer feel like tensions.
A person often finds psychological reasons for these tensions (Gandour, 2000). Gandour states,
frequently a singer has been thoroughly deprived of his or hers self confidence regarding the
voice (2000). One can lose his or her self confidence for many reasons. For example, I was singled
out as the one in the church choir who was spoiling the sound of the choir and by being the

What Are The Advantages And Weaknesses Of The Minimum Cash...
You Make the Call
Swimming pool small business:
1 What are the advantages and weakness of the minimum cash balance practice?
Using a minimum cash balance approach is a safe way for a business to make sure that it always
has a cash balance in reserve. It guarantees that the business will always have a certain amount of
cash asset to fall back on. This is a very limiting and unrealistic approach to managing a business
working capital though. Cash is just one component of working capital. A business could be flush
with cash but have liabilities that exceed that balance and have a negative working capital balance.
A good business needs to think beyond a mental cash framework and think broader to include other
ramifications to the overall profitability and balance sheet stability.
2 There is a saying, if it isn t broke, don t fix it . In view of the firm s present success in paying bills
promptly, should it be encouraged to use a cash budget? Be prepared to support your answer.
The business has been profitable but has it managed its resources as well as it could have? That
is the real question here. While the business feels that it has done well and paid its bills timely
doesn t mean that that the way it handles things can t be improved upon. Incorporating some
planning and a possible use of a cash budget might allow the owner to have a better understanding
of where and how the resources of the company are being used and where they might be put to a
better use given better

Carbohydrates Shakes Isn t As Bad
8 Facts why Fat in Protein Shakes isn t as Bad as You Think
When building muscle is the goal, most athletes try to eliminate their fat intake. Fat is not bad but
an important part of everyone s nutritional needs. Despite the fact that fat is high in calories, there
are many health benefits that come from them. In proper balance and moderation, they will aid you
in your training regimen and get you stronger, more defined and keep you healthy.
1.Energy during Exercise
Twenty minutes into a workout and it feels like you hit a wall. Energy levels drop and so does
your performance. By adding a small amount of fat to your pre workout protein shake, when the
carbohydrates run out at the twenty minute mark, the body can then start to burn the fat.
The carb crash causes an increase of insulin in the blood stream followed by a rapid decrease in
blood sugar when the carbs are all used up. When fat burns, the body does not release extra insulin
and give you a sustained level of energy.
2.Hormones
Both men and women each have certain amounts of both testosterone and estrogen in their bodies.
The cholesterol found in saturated fats produces hormones. Not only does the saturated fat help
produce hormones, it helps to balance them or to raise the testosterone levels. An increase in
testosterone helps to build muscles. With more muscle mass the body burns more fat.
3.Improve Vitamin and Supplement Absorption
There are two kinds of vitamins: water soluble and fat soluble.

The Effects of Technology on the Accounting Profession
The Effects of Technology on the Accounting Profession
In today s business society, the accounting technology whether it be software or hardware is a vital
part of just about every major business. Many people overlook the importance of the role of
accounting technology in business and in the accounting profession. The fact is technology such as
accounting information systems can make or break a business.
Utilization of Information Technology in the Retail Businesses (Wal Mart)
To succeed in the rapidly evolving business environment we face today, businesses rely heavily on
accounting technology to track information about their customers and inventory (Lazerus, 2010).

With the development accounting information systems managers have inherited the task of
learning and training their employees what they learn. For example, in a retail store accounting
systems are used to order, locate and organize inventory so supervisors are tasked with learning and
training employees to perform these tasks. Because employees and managers can now perform such
tasks easily it has limited the jobs that accounting professionals had cornered as theirs in the past.
Because of accounting systems managers have also inherited the task of learning how to perform
minor troubleshooting of their systems and to train others to perform the task. Accounting systems
demand more with regard to computer literacy but provides significant advantages such as helping
organizations to handle more tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Accounting softwareis an
important part of information technology, which relates to computer applications that enable a
company to generate, store, program, and retrieve data as and when needed (Rampur, 2011). An
example is an employee using an accounting information system to analyze inventory with a couple
of clicks of the computer. Accounting technology definitely has made the accounting field more
competitive. This is because with the use of such technology individuals outside of the profession

Description Of A Photo Is Itinerant
Itinerancy is a word that implies movement from place to place. To say a photo is itinerant is to
acknowledge its ability to travel. Imagine a post card sent from Mykonos, decorated with the
Greco roman architecture and Mediterranean beaches, as it arrives at someone`s snow covered
mail box in Colorado. The displaced images on that post card bears different meanings to the
persons receiving them. Memories and histories, specific to an ever increasingly foreign place
and time, travel inside and with images, waiting to be uncovered and dissimilated. The
Photographs ability to travel geographically prevents it from remaining fixed in any location.
Images have an innate propensity to escape the confinements they have been created in and flee
to new unfamiliar places. Photographs spore like pollen as they voyage around the globe leaving
traces of themselves behind. Arts and all other forms of works about or inspired by original
images are vessels, carrying in them a soup of new and borrowed ingredients. The various
ingredients flavor each other and result in new altered carnations of the referent ingredient/works.
Printed texts in literature can capsulate the many aspects of an images existence, giving photos new
and sustained life through alternate modes, forms and mediums. Captions, for example, identify
and date photos. Captions paired with photographs prevent the photos from being so easily swept
into the abyss of meaningless images. Critics who write

Donatello Research Paper

He helped create a big impact along with many other great artists on the way art is interpreted.

Donatello s father was also a craftsman which helped Donato become a sculptor. He started his
journey of a sculptor at the Stonemasons Guild. He then apprenticed under Lorenzo Ghiberti, were
he started to work for the masters of the bronze reliefs on the doors of the Florence Baptistery.
Donatello had made many great life sized statues made from marble, like David, which was
supposed to be a decoration for the cathedral in Florence. As Donatello grew up, his work got
more mature and unique. He created his own style with more drama and emotion, which showed
in the marble figure of St. Mark. Many of his creations also included more classical techniques,
and less gothic style art. Donatello s reputation was growing because of his larger than life figure,
made from innovative techniques and his stupendous skill. Much of Donatello s inspiration came
from reality through a person feelings, emotions, and facial expressions. Donatello had made a new
partnership with Michelozzo in 1425. They both ended up going to Rome to fabricate sculptural
and agricultural tombs which influenced many tomb designs later in Florence. He was then
commissioned to sculpt a duplicate statue of David, except in

families associated with a public institution, while B corresponds to the same number of families,
but associated with a private one. The collection consists of the monthly average of electricity
consumption in KWh and the stratum assigned to the dwelling, both stipulated in the invoice of the
company providing the service. Annex to the invoice is indicated in the number of consumers of
said invoice, this in order to obtain the average of the consumption of electrical energy that each

Alternative landscapes allow freedom from repressive environments and this has an effect on the
psyche of individuals and demonstrates the complexity of human nature. Alain De Botton s The Art
of Travel reflects on the impact of different landscapes that lead to the ultimate search for happiness
while questioning the psychological effect of this pursuit. Peter Weir s Picnic at Hanging Rock is
based on the disappearance of three school girls in a mysterious manner, leaving the audience
questioning humanbehaviour in relation to the environment they are in. As the stories progress, self
discovery leads to the questioning of identities and values upheld, both by society and within
ourselves, that can ultimately determine our happiness,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is discussed that we as individuals must see the beauty around us and learn to appreciate it, not
fanaticise about what we do not have. Egypt lent support to ideas and values that were part of his
identity but for which his own society had little sympathy. This quote from Motives: On the
Exotic, suggests that different landscapes allow individuals to pursue their desires that may not be
accepted in their culture. Freedom from the pressures of society allow their real ideology and
identity to be seen in landscapes that support the views and values of this individual as seen by
Gustave Flaubert in Egypt.
Picnic at Hanging Rock explores external forces that impact on the actions of the young women
that contradict their upbringing and place in society. As they interact with the environment, they
lose the values of their school which opposes their class and social stigma. The environment is
represented as being wild and untamed, and as the sophisticated young women enter this
environment, they lose their innocence and an air of sexuality engulfs the young women. There
is a conflict in the portrayal of repressed and expressed sexuality behaviour as well as the
complete opposite, such as the headmistress who tends to deny any sort of sexual forces and the
young girls who seem to yearn to act on these desires. The

While some countries have a smooth operating system, many still do not. The country of Russia is under very strict control by current President, Vladimir Putin. Many citizens of Russia want change, however, their efforts are muted by government officials. With lack of transparency and accountability, Russian citizens are unaware of what is actually happening in the government. Government actions are often secretive, canceling out the idea of transparency for citizens. Often times, positions of power or wealth in Russia have the ability to hide fraud in the system from citizens. (Kasparov, Garry, 2007). Citizen s do not have the option to challenge unfair governmental practices or have information provided of governmental proceedings. This reduces the amount information citizens see and know about within the government. While individual rights in Russia are outlined in the constitution, often times these rights are not protected. Citizens have the ability of freedom of religion, which is one freedom stated in the constitution they do have. Other freedoms, such as: same sex marriage, or gender discrimination are not stated. There are currently no laws supporting or denying same sex marriage in Russia. Homosexuals can openly serve in the military, however, it is illegal for them to wed. Women in Russia are subject to domestic violence, sexual harassment, and rape with minimal chance of prosecution for the accused. Women struggle finding jobs in Russia, with the fear their presence will be lacking in the home. (Beschastna, Tatyana). Six suspects carried out this bombing that killed six people and injured more than 1000 people. Ramzi Yousef was one of the main perpetrators of this 1993 bombing. His reasoning behind it was to get back at the United Statesfor aiding Israel and making the Palestinian people suffer. Government officials estimated that it would be unlikely that the cost of the bombing reach the record $15 billion in losses from Hurricane Andrew. However, the destruction will by far exceed the $330 million in losses caused by a flood in downtown Chicago. The 1993 World Trade Center bombing caused $1.1 billion dollars in insured losses. This includes $317 million in relocation expenses, $318 million in lost business and lost labor, and $79 million in lost retail sales. The bombing shaped up to be one of New York Citys most costly financial disruptions. Business at the World Trade Center had come to a screeching stop. The bombing affected many businesses, including banks, retail stores, hotels, restaurants etc. More than 350 businesses hoped that the bombing would be covered by insurance. Some businesses are concerned that insurers will not pay all their expenses leaving them to pay for it themselves. Insurance rates drastically increased for businesses inside and outside of New York City. Stores have seen business drop by 50 to 90 percent, forcing some layoffs. Jon Torres, manager of Lynn s Hallmark card shop said that his business was off by 92 percent. They opened right away, but there was no traffic, just a few curious people. Torres had to lay off 21 of his employees. I had 28 employees, and I m working with about 7. They keep calling to see if they should come in, but I ve got nothing for them to do, says Torres. Like Torres, many businesses are anxious about when they will return to normal. The New York Vista Hotel that sits above the site of the explosion, which is now vacant, is losing $150,000 to $250,000 a day. It may cost more than a couple hundred million to repair the hotel if the structural damage is severe. Not only did workers and companies leave behind their offices and records, but they also lost their cars. Don C. Becker, President of The Journal of Commerce Inc, estimates that ... • 7. The Long Term And Short Term Effects Of Grade Skipping Essay The effects of grade skipping has been the focus of many researchers. Some want to find out if students who skip a grade are more likely to have advanced math skills, and if that would result in them going on to make contributions to the STEM field. Others want to know if and how it affects other aspects of the student, such as their language skills. In these studies, researchers investigate these questions to determine the both the long term and short term effects of grade skipping. Park, Benbow, and Lubunski (2013) used the Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth, a 40 year longitudinal study, to determine if skipping a grade has long term effects on performance in STEM fields. The main goal was to find if individuals who skipped a grade after identification at or before thirteen years of age were more likely to receive advanced degrees and accomplishments in STEM fields, reach those achievements faster than their peers who did not skip a grade, and were more productive in their careers at midcareer. Participants were chosen from the first three cohorts of the previous study, and were only used if they scored 390 or higher on the math subtest of the SAT. • 8. The Pros And Cons Of Child Pornography In most states, teenagers who send or receive sexually explicit photographs via cell phone, known as sexting , risk felony child pornography charges and the stigma of being listed on the sex offender registry for life. The fact that sexting can fall under child pornography laws has created some heated conversations and understandably so. There are numerous thoughts and opinions on the matter. The majority of the time, sexting in teenagers isn t meant to be malicious, isn t child pornography therefore shouldn t carry such a like punishment. Teenagers sending a sext to another teenager isn t meant as a malicious act but rather a way of flirting and letting the other person know they are interested in them in most cases. While this behavior may cross moral lines it should not ruin their lives as a blatant crossing of legal lines. If messages containing sexually explicit pictures, or videos are sent between teens are meant to hurt someones reputation then that is a different story. Many states today are struggling to write laws that create clear lines regarding this problem. Sexting can be very serious and certainly needs to be addressed however, in the meantime, we cannot be putting children behinds bars or labeling them as sex offenders. Typical teenage sexting is not child pornography. Child pornography is a criminal offense and is defined by HG.org as any visual depiction involving the use of a minor, or one appearing to be a minor, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Visual depictions include photographs, film, video, pictures or computer generated images or pictures, whether made or produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means. This is a clear definition of an act. Sexting with teenagers today is more of a flirtatious way to start a relationship or to maintain a 3

Emirates Supplier Power The supplier power in airlines is dominated by the world s two largest aircraft manufacturers are Airbus and Boeing. The competition between the two manufacturers is neck to neck but that would prove to be a boon for Emirates as the prices would not rocket through the ceiling. A study shows that Emirates holds 93 Boeing aircrafts and 83 Airbus units (Planespotters, 2009). In 2007, Emirates purchased 81 Airbus flights, to extend it services however, they chose Airbus over Boeing as the latter failed to deliver its latest aircrafts on time and moreover, Airbus had quoted a good price (Barryl, 2007). The changing oil prices also have an adverse effect on the aviation industry. In a nutshell, the bargaining power of suppliers is high. Buyer Power There are 2 direct flights from Dubai to Hong Kong weekly, rest are 35 are via flights. Fares vary according to demand, but Emirates not being a budget airline its buyers do not really influence the price. Further more, a Travel Survey concluded that above 60% of the travellers preferred Emirates Airlines to any other international Airlines (Glass, 2008). He or she is also familiar with one particular society, and the norms of that society are established in their mindset. However, when a second family from an entirely different culture enters the picture, the simple life becomes more complicated. The cultures of the two families are so different that they clash with one another, leaving the one person between it all. It is also likely that she, like other transracial adoptees, ...will not be comfortable with [her] own racial culture (Adamec, par. 6). She also has been ...the only mother [Turtle has] ever known for the past three years (Kingsolver 337), thus there is a strong attachment between the two. Separating them would cause long time traumatic effects on Turtle, so the split custody will allow the mother and daughter to stay together. Another positive outcome would be that Turtle will gain all the benefits of being a Cherokee Indian. Ever since I can remember, I ve had that one person to look up to that I felt could relate to me. As long as I can remember, that person was Marilyn Monroe. At about the age of 5, I saw her face on the television screen and by about the age of 12 years old, I was researching all I could about her. The more I learned about her, the more my love grew for her and the more I knew she would understand me if she were here today. Marilyn Monroewas an iconic celebrity but also very relatable to the average woman who deals things such as tough emotional issues, harsh body image problems and having a hard time trusting people or building relationships. Everyone has issues that we deal with; we re only human, right? The emotional issues we deal with daily can be anger, sadness, depression, etc. Marilyn dealt with these emotions as much as anyone else, but there was a time she had said, I am not a victim of emotional conflicts. I am human . She understood that as a human being, we all have emotional problems, but it s how one deals with their emotions that matters. These emotional issues can stem from many different situations or moments in our life. Dealing with a bully in school, an abusive parent or whatever it may be, can cause these issues. Unfortunately, Marilyn had to deal with emotional issues stemming form the relationship with her mother. One of Marilyn s family members was quoted saying: Gladys didn t hug, kiss or smile, Marilyn s niece, Mona Rae Miracle, exclusively tells Closer. She was delusional, and she heard voices from electrical appliances. She was antisocial and unable to express any emotion, except anger . Marilyn s mother s inability to feel or express emotions was of no benefit to the growth of an impressionable girl such as Marilyn. Marilyn unfortunately paid dearly from this and grew up battling her emotions all of the time. So, knowing what we ve learned so far, there s no doubt that Marilyn Monroe dealt with the same kind of problems your average jane deals with. Both The Catcher in the Rye and Donnie Darko depict the societal norms of the period the texts were set in. However, Salinger s novel and Kelly s film both portray the protagonist of their text to be classified an outsider; subverting norms and rebelling against those in power. Catcher in the Rye, a bildungsroman masterpiece is set in the late 1940 s in America, and consequently, focuses on the contextual ideology of the American Dream. Donnie Darkoa sci.fi film made in 2001 however, is set in a period of conservatism in America in the late 1980 s. Despite the film s release in 2001, Kelly placed the film in 1988 to project his message on the family values agenda, a consequence of political oppression with wide spread support for the conservatives. The main advocates behind this notion in the film are seen to be Mrs Farmer and Cunningham, both of whom Darko viewed as forces of tyranny and solely challenges. The movie that I have chosen that represents a part of the 1960 s is Full Metal Jacket produced by Stanley Kubrick. The movie is centered around one individual, Joker, who starts off in marine corps boot camp and then eventually is sent to Vietnam. Full Metal Jacket showcases a seemingly accurate view of how soldiers viewed the war, and what they go through. The movie is separated into two parts, boot camp and then working in Vietnam. Full Metal Jacket is based on an adaption of the book The Short Timers by Gustav Hasford which is a semi autobiographical novel. Only a portion of the 60 s was captured in Full Metal Jacket, however, it gives great insight on soldiers view on the war. The first half of the movie is depicting the abuse and struggles of marine corps boot camp. The movie beings with drill sergeant Hartman belittling all the individuals who came into boot camp, he calls them worthless and degrades them. The three flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol allow Annex I countries to achieve part of their emission reduction commitments abroad. The CDM allows an Annex I Party to implement a project that reduces greenhouse gas emissions or, subject to constraints, removes greenhouse gases by carbon sequestration, or sinks, in the territory of a non Annex I Party. The resulting certified emission reductions, known as CERs, can then be used by the Annex I Party to help meet its emission reduction target. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition. Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with Hotspur. It is important to trace the early movements in jazzto better understand the innovations of the Bebop and Cool jazz eras of the 40 s and 50 s. The first appearance of jazz was at the turn of the century in New Orleans and is called Dixieland Jazz, or Classic Jazz. It developed out of music for street parades in the black community. This more stable style invited dance, and the swing era is also associated with a dance craze, carried out in dance halls and clubs. Duke Ellington got his start in the swing era, as one of the earliest musicians to create the big band effect (Verve). World War II changed the jazz world again and influenced the development of Bebop. As the war took away many of the musicians that made up the big band groups of the swing era, a new style emerged that again used smaller groups and younger musicians. Some musicians who got their start in this way include Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Red Rodney (Verve). The Bebop era marked an important change the style of jazz music. Due to the smaller size of the bands, there was more room for improvisation, and the music began to take on more complicated dimensions than it had seen thus far. During the swing era, jazz had been associated with dancing, and was played in dance halls and cabarets. In the Bebop era, it began to move away from this function and began to develop more complicated tempos and melodies (Verve). Jazz was still growing in the 1950 s and began to incorporate the innovations of the Bebop era with the more melodic elements of the earlier eras. The result was a period called the Cool period. Self awareness is a major growing edge in anyones leadership skills. Especially if you are trying to be successful and effective with your congregation, family and in the community. I learned that when dealing with conflict, I had the tendency to shy away or pretend as though the conflict is not happening or that it didn t exist. I agree with Patrick Lecioni, members of great teams trust one another on a fundamental, emotional level, and they are comfortable being vulnerable with each other about their weaknesses, mistakes, fears, and behaviors. When we as leaders are able to embrace such a bond with a team, this creates a safe environment for sharing, venting, and expressing true feelings about new ideas and thoughts. • 36. Out Of This Furnace By Thomas Bell Essay Out of this Furnace is a fictional novel by Thomas Bell which is based on true events from the 18th century. It is a well written tale of Slovak immigrants who came to the United States in search of better opportunities than they had in their old country. The story revolves around four main characters: Djuro Kracha, Kracha s daughter Mary, Mary s husband, Mike Dobrejcak, and, their son Dobie. As history tells us, many early immigrants who moved to America had either of these motives: financial prosperity, social status and societal freedom. Similarly, as the story unfolds, we see that all of these characters became subject to harsh conditions and that each of them went through their own version of struggle. This novelhas succeeded in enlightening us about the great effort that these Slovak immigrants made against the issues that encountered them in America. They faced numerous hardships in the form of underpaid and unsafe jobs, poor residence and other types of inequalities. Kracha, like most of the immigrants, moved to America by boat in 1881 for financial growth, because of the opportunities in his old country, Hungary, were too scarce for him to climb the financial ladder. He had a wife back at home, who at the time was pregnant. During this time, America opened its borders to a wave of immigrants, who were mainly inexperienced laborers. The compromise of the Treaty is that it ended World War I. The conflict of the Treaty is that it fed the German s hate for the Allied Powers and, in turn, was the cause of World War II. Once Sophia s husband, Douglass master, found out she was teaching him how to read and write, he immediately ordered her to stop teaching. Douglass stated, The very decided manner with which he spoke, and strove to impress his wife with the evil consequences of giving me instruction, served to convince me that he was deeply sensible of the truths he was uttering . What he most dreaded, that I most desired. What he most loved, that I most hated. That which to him was a great evil, to be carefully shunned, was to me a great good, to be diligently sought; and the argument which he so warmly urged, against my learning to read, only served to inspire me with a desire and determination to learn (Douglass). That quote by Frederick Douglass is very powerful, and goes to show how strong his motivation was to better his life. Soon after that, Douglass was able to teach himself a bit more on how to read and write. He was a smart man, and he was very knowledgeable. After seeing the gruesome shooting of Demby by Mr. Gore, Douglass was able to reenact the scene, explaining all of the little details he witnessed. In a way, he used this to his advantage. The alkyl halides will be examined based on the substrate types and solvent the reaction takes place in. Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml of 15% sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the test tube labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to mix thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions formed a precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a hot bath at about 50В°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and allowed to cool. If any test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. Fat is not bad but an important part of everyone s nutritional needs. Despite the fact that fat is high in calories, there are many health benefits that come from them. In proper balance and moderation, they will aid you in your training regimen and get you stronger, more defined and keep you healthy. 1.Energy during Exercise Twenty minutes into a workout and it feels like you hit a wall. Energy levels drop and so does your performance. By adding a small amount of fat to your pre workout protein shake, when the carbohydrates run out at the twenty minute mark, the body can then start to burn the fat. The carb crash causes an increase of insulin in the blood stream followed by a rapid decrease in blood sugar when the carbs are all used up. When fat burns, the body does not release extra insulin and give you a sustained level of energy. 2.Hormones Both men and women each have certain amounts of both testosterone and estrogen in their bodies. The cholesterol found in saturated fats produces hormones. Not only does the saturated fat help produce hormones, it helps to balance them or to raise the testosterone levels. An increase in testosterone helps to build muscles. Imagine a post card sent from Mykonos, decorated with the Greco roman architecture and Mediterranean beaches, as it arrives at someone`s snow covered mail box in Colorado. The displaced images on that post card bears different meanings to the persons receiving them. Many of his creations also included more classical techniques, and less gothic style art. Donatello s reputation was growing because of his larger than life figure, made from innovative techniques and his stupendous skill. Much of Donatello s inspiration came from reality through a person feelings, emotions, and facial expressions. Donatello had made a new partnership with Michelozzo in 1425. They both ended up going to Rome to fabricate sculptural and agricultural tombs which influenced many tomb designs later in Florence. • 56. Analysis Of Resumen Y Metodolomica Resumen y MetodologГa. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abstract and Methodology: The present study seeks to determine the relationship between the socio economic position of families and the consumption of electrical energy generated by them. In this study, the most common indicator (although it is not the most appropriate) regarding the subject, will be taken as a reference of socioeconomic position; the social stratum. Regarding to the consumption, a data collection will be made of two sample populations, A and B. Population A corresponds to 50 families associated with a public institution, while B corresponds to the same number of families, but associated with a private one. The collection consists of the monthly average of electricity consumption in KWh and the stratum assigned to the dwelling, both stipulated in the invoice of the company providing the service. Annex to the invoice is indicated in the number of consumers of said invoice, this in order to obtain the average of the consumption of electrical energy that each member of the ... Alternative landscapes allow freedom from repressive environments and this has an effect on the psyche of individuals and demonstrates the complexity of human nature. Alain De Botton s The Art of Travel reflects on the impact of different landscapes that lead to the ultimate search for happiness while questioning the psychological effect of this pursuit. Peter Weir s Picnic at Hanging Rock is based on the disappearance of three school girls in a mysterious manner, leaving the audience questioning humanbehaviour in relation to the environment they are in. As the stories progress, self discovery leads to the questioning of identities and values upheld, both by society and within ourselves, that can ultimately determine our happiness,... Egypt lent support to ideas and values that were part of his identity but for which his own society had little sympathy. This quote from Motives: On the Exotic, suggests that different landscapes allow individuals to pursue their desires that may not be accepted in their culture. Freedom from the pressures of society allow their real ideology and identity to be seen in landscapes that support the views and values of this individual as seen by Gustave Flaubert in Egypt. Picnic at Hanging Rock explores external forces that impact on the actions of the young women that contradict their upbringing and place in society. As they interact with the environment, they lose the values of their school which opposes their class and social stigma. The environment is represented as being wild and untamed, and as the sophisticated young women enter this environment, they lose their innocence and an air of sexuality engulfs the young women. There is a conflict in the portrayal of repressed and expressed sexuality behaviour as well as the complete opposite, such as the headmistress who tends to deny any sort of sexual forces and the young girls who seem to yearn to act on these desires.
