- Onstage and backstage is what you usually call “the system” and what you aim to design and develop. But you can only achieve a meaningful service if you start with the user and a user-centered design process. A service which works well is also, always taken care of, on the inside, inline with a service roadmap. This means, the real system, which we have to understand from the beginning, as soon as we think “I’m gonna solve these problems or fill these gaps with a new or updated service”, are all these four areas. \nHere, I’m thinking of a seamless cross platform TV service you can use on several screens, TV, computer, smartphone, tablet, and the experience starts (just like for me with Eurosport) on the computer/desktop web. I searched and found the promising service, I signed up, paid and this is where it starts happening things in the back-end. If the organization has made their homework, they know I want to use this service on several screens, and backend is assured to work in that way. My activity is logged, I might get some kind of welcome offer, etc. For this to be possible, the organization behind the service has done their homework, planned and defined the service based on my and other users’ needs and usage modes. In another situation I might be watching more “traditional” TV but in a smarter future, also this experience is more personalized. Maybe I’ll get information, tips or offers relevant to my needs. Directly on the TV screen or maybe in the smartphone or tablet working as a sidekick/second screen. But this demands logic thinking in order to handle advanced personalization with analysis of my and my fellow target members usage and behaviour, and in the end that the organization and its sevices are structured based on that.\n\n
