ABSTRACT
• Car tracking systems have evolved significantly in recent years, driven by
advancements in technology and increasing demands for efficiency, safety, and
security in transportation. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the state-
of-the-art in car tracking technologies, with a focus on their applications,
challenges, and emerging trends. It explores the integration of Global Positioning
System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), and Internet of
Things (IoT) technologies in modern tracking systems, highlighting their roles in
enabling real-time monitoring, route optimization, and theft prevention.
• The system tracks vehicles on an online map through a Web Application. The
system allows the user to track and check vehicle fuel entries, servicing data and
even repair/ maintenance status. This system allows users to keep track of their
vehicles provided on rent or lease to someone else. Also for tourist vehicle
owners to keep track of multiple vehicles. The individual features of this
application have been listed below
INTRODUCTION
In this project,where vehicles are an integral part of our daily lives,
the importance of efficient vehicle management and security
cannot be overstated. Car tracking systems developed using Android
Studio and Java have emerged as essential tools to address these
concerns effectively. These systems leverage the power of modern
technology to monitor and track vehicles in real-time, providing
users with valuable insights into their location, movement, and
status.
EXISTING SYSTEM
Modern vehicle tracking systems commonly use GPS or GLONASS
technology for locating the vehicle, but other types of automatic
vehicle location technology can also be used. Vehicle information
can be viewed on electronic maps via the Internet or specialized
software.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM
1. Manual Processes: The reliance on manual methods such as logbooks and physical inspections for vehicle
tracking is labor-intensive and prone to human error. This leads to inaccuracies in data recording and
hampers efficient management of vehicle fleets.
2. Lack of Real-Time Monitoring: Traditional tracking systems do not provide real-time visibility into the
location and status of vehicles. This hinders the ability to promptly respond to emergencies, track vehicle
movements accurately, and optimize route planning.
3. Limited Integration: Standalone GPS devices used in the existing system often lack integration with other
software systems and communication networks. This results in data silos, making it difficult to streamline
operations and access comprehensive insights into fleet activities.
4. High Costs and Complexity: Implementing and maintaining separate GPS devices for vehicle tracking
incurs high costs for businesses and individuals. Additionally, managing multiple hardware installations
adds complexity and requires additional resources for maintenance and support.
5. Security: The existing system’s reliance on manual methods and standalone GPS devices makes vehicles
susceptible to theft and unauthorized use. Without robust security features and real-time monitoring
capabilities, it is challenging to prevent and respond to security breaches effectively.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed car tracking system aims to overcome the
limitations of the existing system by advanced technology and
integrated software solutions. Key features and
improvements of the proposed system include:
• Real-Time Tracking: The proposed system will provide real-
time monitoring of vehicle location, speed, and status using
GPS

allowing owners to set virtual boundaries and remotely disable the engine in case of theft or unauthorized use. This helps prevent

allowing for easy scalability and adaptability to the changing needs of businesses and organizations. Integration with mobile

• Front end : HTML,CSS,Bootstrap,JS
