Who inspires you in today’s music?
How long have you been doing music? What inspired you?
Where are you from? City or province?
I've been deeply involved in making music for well over a decade. My journey began with influences from iconic
platforms like 106 & Park, Freestyle Fridays, and Much Music. Growing up with Caribbean roots also allowed me
to experience a rich variety of genres from a young age which also played a big role.
I hail from Mississauga, Ontario, originally born in Brampton. Raised between Toronto, Brampton and
Mississauga due to my parents' separation, I've had the unique opportunity to absorb the diverse
cultural influences of all three cities.
Currently, my musical inspiration draws from a diverse spectrum. I have a lot but to name a few; Lil Wayne
stands out as a lyrical genius, alongside Vybz Kartel's impact on the industry is undeniable. Partynextdoor,
hailing from the same city as me, captures my admiration for his unique melodies and storytelling. Lastly,
the journey of Justin Bieber, who went from playing the guitar and singing outside every day to being
discovered on YouTube and being one of the biggest in the world serves as a source of inspiration for my
musical endeavors today.
In 2024, my plans include collaborating with more well-known artists. I've been fortunate to travel the world
while working on music, and I aim to continue those experiences. Additionally, I'll be focusing on building my
brand, Early Campaign, which embodies a motivational and go-getter ethos. Alongside this, I'm venturing
into the custom high-end jewelry business, specializing in pendants, rings, grillz, and more. Im definiatly
motivated to create my own lane and path. Im tired of working for someone else and helping them
accomplish their dreams. Im taking the risk to chase mine and create my own legacy for myself and futures
to come.

Who inspires you in today’s music?
How long have you been doing music? What inspired you?
I've been into music since I was a young girl back in Kenya. I would watch big artists on tv and envision
myself as a star too! I was in choirs and in a girl group while in high school which helped me learn music,
sounds and harmonies. Move forward to when I relocated to Canada and eventually began my
professional music recording career in 2018. I have been pushing since then trying to make a name for
myself and where I come from. I'm highly inspired by the ability to make nothing out of something. It just
amazes me that something that can be so personal or seem so small can impact the world! Music helps
me transform hard situations into life lessons.
Plans for 2024? Album? Mixtape?
I have a few singles up my sleeve that I can not wait to share! My first single of the year, All I Know, will be out
on Mar 21st 2024 ! It is an amapiano inspired track, produced by DJ Tee, with inspiring lyrics reminding
listeners (and myself) to keep pushing and to keep finding a reason to exist even when life feels
meaningless. I recently met and collaborated with an amazing artist & producer, Triple EX, on an EP that will
be out this summer. Can't say too much about it just yet but it will be one for the books! Look out for that!!
My music today is inspired by my young self. She was alone and misunderstood. She could sing but
never felt like she had a voice, like her opinions did not matter. I'm fighting for her. It is her resilience
that got me to where I am today . I want her to be proud of herself for not giving up . I want her to
know that all the sacrifices she made were not in vain. I am on a mission to become better everyday
and that can be felt in my new music.
Where are you from? City or province?
I was born and raised in Kenya but I am currently located in Toronto, Canada.

I’ve had a love for music my whole life, but I first got inspired when I saw a female DJ
(Spinderalla) for the first time in the group Salt-N-Pepa. I was pretty shy and quiet in
my younger years, so I never had the courage to pursue it then. It wasn’t until I was a
little older and out in the club scene when I got to know a few of the DJs and caught
the bug. The passion and curiosity wouldn’t leave me, so I pushed past my fears and
pursued it. A DJ I knew had a clothing store in our downtown core with some
turntables set up there. He let me come start learning and practicing there, eventually
lending me his second set of turntables so I could continue practicing at home, and
the rest is history.

Q: How do you approach building a relationship
with venue owners and event organizers?
Building relationships takes time, so I start by
researching the venue to understand what they're
about before suggesting any ideas. It's important that
we're a good match. I make a point of meeting
owners and event organizers in person and showing
support by attending their events. I always think
about how I can help them and how we can both
benefit from working together. Knowing what I bring
to the table is key. When I'm booked for an event, I
focus on being professional at all times, doing my
best, and leaving a positive impression so they'll want
to hire me again. Then, we can look at ways to build
up from there.

Controllers are really starting to grow on me
though, especially because of the portability and
flexibility when travelling to different types of gigs.”
Q: How do you handle song requests that are not in line
with your set?
Q: What equipment do you prefer to use and why?
I prefer the 1 & 2’s aka my turntables, or Technics
1200s. That’s what I learned on, so that’s what I’m most
comfortable with. Controllers are really starting to
grow on me though, especially because of the
portability and flexibility when travelling to different
types of gigs.
I usually just kindly let the person know that I’ll TRY to fit it
in a little later on with what I’m playing.
Q: Where are you from? City? province?
My parents are from Trinidad and Tobago, but I was born
in Ottawa, ON Canada.

Q: If you could eternally be stuck in one year’s music scene, which year
would it be?
I’m an OG, so if I could eternally be stuck in one year’s music scene it would
probably be 1996 during the golden era of Hip Hop. When Nas Ruled the World,
The Roots were doing What They Do, and The Fugees were crashing the scene
whether you were Ready Or Not. If you weren’t up on Jeru the Damaja you were
Playin Yaself, the Mobb was Deep predicting Hell On Earth, 2Pac was showing
some California Love and A Tribe Called Quest did it 1nce Again.
Q: What is one of your most memorable nights djing? Also what’s the biggest
crowd you ran a set for?
One of my most memorable experiences was djing on a truck at
the Toronto Caribbean Carnival grand parade in 2023 for EPIC
Carnival. It was an opportunity that came up at the last minute,
that I just couldn’t pass up. That was probably the largest crowd
I’ve DJ’ed for. It’s hard to say what the number was because
there’s people all around, but if you’ve been there you know how it
is.
Q: Do you have a cancellation policy? If so, how much is the
fee?
A 50% deposit is always required, so if the event gets cancelled
the deposit is kept since I’m losing out on other potential bookings
by having made myself available for that day.
Q: What’s your hourly rate?
Varies depending on the type of event, and what’s required.
Q: Do you have insurance?
No.
Q: Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give a shout out
before we wrap it up?
I want to thank my friends, family and fellow DJs, especially DJ
Mace, for always supporting me and putting me on throughout the
years, and DJ Up N Gone. Shout out to Patrick & Justin from the
Cranium Arts Project for always looking out. Big up to my artist
Kyng Moses, a rising Soca & Afrobeats giant.
