Life In Prison Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Life In Prison" can be a challenging task, as it involves delving
into a complex and often emotionally charged subject. The difficulty lies not only in presenting
factual information about the conditions within prisons but also in capturing the human
experiences and societal implications associated with a life spent behind bars.
To begin with, gathering accurate and up-to-date information about life in prison requires
extensive research. It involves exploring various sources, such as academic articles, government
reports, and firsthand accounts from individuals who have experienced incarceration. This
process can be time-consuming, as the topic encompasses a broad range of issues, including
prison conditions, rehabilitation programs, and the impact of long-term imprisonment on
individuals and society.
Moreover, crafting a compelling essay on this subject demands a delicate balance between
objectivity and empathy. It requires the writer to navigate through the harsh realities of life in
prison while remaining sensitive to the human stories behind the statistics. Addressing the ethical
concerns associated with the criminal justice system and imprisonment adds another layer of
complexity to the essay.
Furthermore, the task involves developing a coherent and logical structure for the essay to
ensure that the information is presented in a clear and organized manner. The writer must
carefully choose examples and anecdotes to illustrate key points without sensationalizing or
oversimplifying the complex issues involved.
In addition, conveying the societal implications of life in prison requires a thoughtful exploration
of topics such as recidivism, the impact on families, and broader questions about the purpose and
effectiveness of long-term incarceration. Balancing these aspects while maintaining a nuanced
and unbiased perspective can be challenging.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Life In Prison" is a demanding undertaking that
requires thorough research, empathy, and a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted issues
surrounding incarceration. However, it's crucial to approach the topic with a sense of
responsibility and sensitivity, recognizing the human aspects amid the stark realities. If you find
yourself struggling with such essays or need assistance, various resources, including professional

The Global Impact Of Human Trafficking
The Global impact of Human Trafficking Human trafficking is a global issue that
receives very little attention throughout the modern world; this issue effects every
country on the global and all different types of cultures. Hillary Clinton said in
2009 Trafficking thrives in the shadows, and it can be easy to dismiss it as
something that happens to someone else, in somewhere else, but that is not the
case. Trafficking is a crime that involves every nation on earth, and that includes
our own. (Behnke, 2015) This report will be focusing on how the different types of
human trafficking play a role in different types of societies. I will explore the how
economic impact on the western world because of human trafficking for labor to
the impact of human trafficking for sexual exploitation in poverty stricken and
industrial countries, while also looking at the different types of individuals that are
impacted by human trafficking. I will explain some of the local and global laws in
place for human trafficking victims and their traffickers. This will include the laws
that the United Nations has put in position to safeguard victims of human trafficking
throughout the world. Asking the question, can we do more on a local and global
scale to protect victims of trafficking and the prosecution of traffickers and if so
what? Human tracking has been an active part of societies throughout the globe since
before the 1400 s however, this period was the mark of the European slave trade, with
The Old English Ways Essay
Throughout history there has always been a struggle for power between absolute
rulers and the people and somewhere in the middle they compromise at democracy.
In the past the people have written documents to that limited the of the king and
obtain their natural rights. The Magna Carta became known as one of the first
documents to ever degrade the power of a king. Following the Magna Cartacame the
Petition of Rights, this to limited the strength of the king. Succeeding the Petition of
Rights, came the founding of the Bill of Rights. Without boundaries a ruler will
abuse his power over the people. Therefore in order for a ruler to lead a democratic
government he must have boundaries and regulations to abide by. The Magna Carta

This document was only the first of three document to limit the kings power. King
Charles tried to rule as an absolute ruler, but he was unsuccessful in his attempt.
Charles started to take advantage of his people by using force and unjust taxes.
Parliament, unhappy with the conditions of the state deiced to do something about
it. They wrote the Petition of Rights. this document unabled the king to proceed as
he wished. This document states that Parliament has the right to dismiss
themselves. In other words that means the king can not tell Parliament they are
finished and no longer have the power to do anything. Also Parliament would be
called to session at least once every three years. Hence, the king would not be able
to completely ignore Parliament and the voice of the people completely.
Consequently limiting his power. Another section declared that the people have
the right to due process and all ancient taxes are abolished. By obtaining these
rights and privileges the people are free to have there life, liberty, and property
without a fear of losing any of these without due process. Lastly, the power of the
king was limited by a third document, The Bill of Rights. Before William and Mary

Social Reformers Support Prohibition
The eighteenth amendment established prohibition, which was the banning of the
manufacturing and sale of alcohol. Interestingly, prohibition caused many different
and unintended consequences for America. When the eighteenth amendment was
established, many people supported prohibition because of the social benefits. The
Church supported prohibition because many Christians saw drinking as a sin. Many
business men supported prohibition, because this would reduce the amount of
absences at work and would increase production and efficiency. Furthermore, many
social reformers supported prohibition, since it would benefit the family unit. Since
fathers would not be drinking, this would allow more money to be spent on
necessities, and would reduce
Diaghilev s Influence On George Ballanchine
Soon after hiring Balanchine and his comrades, Diaghilev realized that Balanchine
had great choreographic potential and proceeded to promote him to the rank of ballet
master and principal choreographer. It was at Diaghilev s instance that the surname
Balanchivadze was shortened to Balanchine ( George Balanchine Biography 2014).
As the BalletRusses s resident choreographer, Balanchine would create eleven full
length works, among them the L Enfant et les SortilГЁges to the musicof French
composer Maurice Ravel and Le Chant du Rossignol, accompanied by a Stravinsky
score. Other notable ballets choreographed exclusively for the Ballet Russes include
Apollon MusagГЁte and Prodigal Son. During this period, Balanchine suffered a

While with the Ballet Russes de Monte Carlo, Balanchine choreographed three
ballets, Cotillon, La Concurrence, and Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, all of which
were centered around principal dancer Tamara Toumanova ( Biography 2002). He
later created the company Les Ballets in 1933 with Boris Kochno, a former private
secretary of Diaghilev s, as artistic director ( George Balanchine Biography 2014).
For the troupe s opening season, Balanchine choreographed six works, collaborating
with Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill for The Seven Deadly Sins, Pavel Tchelitchew for
Errante, and composers Darius Milhaud for Les Songes and Henri Sauget for Fastes.
Unfortunately, the company dissolved within a few months of its inception. As
devastating as this was for Balanchine, the company s sudden collapse would result in
one of the most revolutionary meetings in the history of 20th century dance (

Triggered By Fletcher Wortmann Analysis
Mental disorders can hinder a person s ability to make proper decisions and
therefore influence their lifestyle, behavior, and actions in most situations.
Triggered by Fletcher Wortmann is a memoir about the negative effects of
obsessive compulsive disorder can have on a person. The mental state of a person
with obsessive compulsive disorder is one of uncertainty most of the time. Though
a mental disorder determined many decisions in his life so far, his goal is to prove
that mental disorders do not define who a person is. Through long stories about
things that typically wouldn t matter to an average person, it is clearly evident

He talks about how much he loved his pets in a positive way, but then quickly
swings in a dark direction and talks about the insanity they gave him. This is one of
many examples in the book where cliches change the tone of the progressing story,
showing the amateurity of Wortmann s writing style. Each time a more known
cliche was used, it could then easily be predicted that something bad was going to
happen. This was not necessarily a bad thing. This kind of writing style made the
book easier to read, and surprisingly more relatable to readers. The mood of the
story fluctuates heavily just as tone, especially toward the climax of the book.
Obsessive compulsive disorder has a huge effect on an individual s emotions and
this is very apparent in Wortmann s writings. Once again the story starts off
somewhat happy, then quickly evolves into a depressing story. At this point late
into the book, Wortmann turns the story into a cry for sympathy, drastically
changing the mood, I quickly discovered that those afflicted with mental illness
were the first to be silenced. We were alike but alone. We had no history of
oppression (242). While obsessive compulsive disorder is understandably a
disadvantage not many people have to face, he took things too far. It leaves the
reader to question whether to pity him or get mad for wasting

Female Offenders And Male Offenders
Statistics show that the number of female offenders in the legal system has been
increasing steadily. The number of female offenders entering the American justice
system is growing at a rate faster than males. Statistics from the United States in 2010
show the female offender population to be increasing by 2.7% each year, compared to
the male population at a rate of 1.8% each year, with similar statistics being seen in
other Western countries (West Sabol, 2010). The continued increase has made
understanding female offenders and their catalysts for committing crimemore
imperative.
Despite the general consensus that the number of females involved in crime is
continuing to rise, males are still the dominant gender committing crimes, especially
for violent offences. This may be why there is a continued lack of research on
female offenders using a gender specific approach that accounts for gender
differences. Historically, female offenders have been primarily studied using a
gender neutral model comprising mainly male offenders. Although there is support
that a gender neutral model can effectively apply to both male and female offenders
(van der Knaap et al. 2012), there has been an ongoing debate on whether the
pathways and processes that lead to female offending can be successfully explained
and ultimately applied to interventions and preventions by using theories originally
created to explain male crime (Steffensmeier Allan, 1996).

Workplace Wellness
Another of the wellness fundamentals that we have previously highlighted is
environment. That is making work a great environment to be in and work in.
This is different to occupational health and safety because that has an overwhelming
emphasis on safety. It s great and something we should all be concerned with,
however we re talking about ways to tap into the human spirit, rather than giving
them a special mouse or armrest.
For example, sunlight, we all know that sunlight wakes people up. Sunlight helps to
not only wake you up it provides you with vitamin D that you and we all need.
Fluorescent lights do not.

Essay on The Right to Bear Arms a Constitutional Conflict
The act of bearing a firearm was initially represented as a duty in England, up until
King Alfred converted this duty into a right. By doing so, individuals were
allowed to use firearms for two purposes: self defense and hunting. In time, kings
chose to trust their subjects with arms and to modify and supplement the militia if
need be (Malcom 3). Individuals were given the right to bear arms in exchange for
their participation in England s militia, which consists of able bodied male citizens
declared by law as being subject to call to military service ( Militia ).
Additional implementations were then put into effect, one of them being King John s
recognition of the right to bear arms in the Magna Carta. This Angevin Charter will ...

Although America gained its independence, its main concern still remains: to which
degree should its militia be controlled. Certain representatives believed that the militia
should be abolished. Others showed a preference for a selective militia that did not
incorporate society in its entirety. Some considered amending the meaning that was
given to militia and appropriate it to America s Constitution. The convention decided
to give the new congress the authority to determine the future composition of the
militia (Cornell 43). By doing so, America s aspirations consist of a standing army, a
well regulated militia and the right to bear arms.
The new congress decided to create a militia that would be just as important at a state
level than at a national level, the new national government was given the authority to
organize, arm and discipline the militia. The states would maintain some measure of
control by retaining the power over the appointment of the officers, and authority for
training the militia according to the discipline prescribed. (Cornell 43). James
Madison helped draft the constitution of the United States of America and he became
a leader in the ratification of the Constitution. He is known as the father of the
constitution. James Madison s initial formulation of the Second Amendment went as
Dyslexia Is A Learning Disability
Dyslexia is a learning disability in which people have difficulty reading, writing,
and even in subjects such a math and music. In my case, I found that subjects such
as reading and writing were harder for me compared to other kids my age. I was half
way through my fourth grade year when I was diagnosed with dyslexia. While at first
this was something I hated about myself. Now being dyslexic is something that
makes me who I am today, and this is something I should never be ashamed of.
By the time I was in 1st grade all of my friends were learning to read and write, while
I tried my hardest to just get by. Yet after every single spellingtest I would receive a
failing grade or a barely passing grade, and for me this was abnormal as I was a
straight A student in everything else. While my grades continued to fall, my mom
started to believe that I was just not trying hard enough. For the next three years,
my mother started tutoring me every day after school. Each and every day after
school my mother would make me write my spelling words ten times each, and
when that did not make any change, I began to study ever single moment of the
day. Sometimes I even studied in the shower, but sadly I was still falling behind in
certain subjects. This persisted on for three more years, when I was in 3rd grade
when my mom finally gave up with the school I was at and sent me to one that she
believed had a better education system.
At my new school the teachers where very similar as they

Americans revered the beaver and referred to them as Little People for this reason.
. Beavers build dams or lodges to create pond for their food. Like the quotes says
beavers transform their surroundings to fit their need like humans. However,
Humans build dams for a variety of reasons from flood control to water storage.
Dams are also used to generate energy. Humans have been harnessing the rivers for
millennium. Water mills were built to help make flour and were used as a source of
power for early industrial endeavour. However, it wasn t until the early nineteenth
century when a french engineer named Benoit Fourneyron created one of the first
turbines. Over twenty years later an American engineer created one of the first water
turbinebased on Fourneyron. Water turbines work like this, water from the reservoir
that the damcreates flows through an intake tunnel. The rushing water turns the
turbinefast enough that the generator spins too. To expand on this simple principle
further, the turbine can control the amount water coming in through the gates around
the blades depending on how much power is needed. When the blades turn it also

Exile And Pain In Three Elegiac Poems Essay
There is a great similarity between the three elegiac poems, The Wanderer, The Wife
of Lament, and The Seafarer. This similarity is the theme of exile. Exile means
separation, or banishment from ones native country, region, or home. During the
Anglo Saxon period, exile caused a great amount of pain and grief. The theme is
shown to have put great sadness into literature of this time period. The majority of the
world s literature from the past contains the theme of exile. The Wife of Lamentis
another perfect example of literature with exile, and was written by an unknown
author.
The most striking example of exile in this poem can be seen in the passage when she
says, quot;A song I sing of sorrow unceasing, ... Show more content on

The author continually describes how incredibly miserable he is living his life in
exile, how awful it is to have to live without the guidance from a higher rank being
a lord and king in this case, how there is no one to talk to and to share ones feelings
with, and how there is no money or riches of any kind‚ for a man who is living in
exile.
For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what
this man is going through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all
the things many others take for granted everyday of their lives. The author of this
poem, who has obviously been exiled, does an exquisite job of showing, maybe
even teaching, to the reader how important the things are that you lose in life when
exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest loss of all when
you are exiled, you take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem purposeful
for you to live out the day you just began. This is obviously the idea the author is
trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem The Seafarer, also
composed by an unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in
the ways people have been exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship
is in many ways quite similar to being exiled from your homeland. Numerous
passages in this poem show this mans painful life at sea. The one that stands out most
greatly to me is this passage;

Catharine Breillat s Film Romance
One theme that seems consistent in Catharine Breillat s films thus far the theme of
rape. In the film Romance, the protagonist, Marie is sexually frustrated. Maries
partner, refuses to have sex with her and in an attempt to fulfill her sexual needs,
Marie has several affairs with men including her boss and random men who
solicited her on the street. As Simone de Beauvoir describes sex in virtually every
setting, sex is rape because the penis is invading a woman s private space who has
little control and lacks choice and autonomy (Beauvoir). In this sense, men have such
power and women lack control and power in our patriarchal society that women
cannot possibly consent to sex under their free will. Particularly, as Catharine
Mackinnon describes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even biology in many ways favors this view as the biological basis for male
organisms is to spread their seed because there is a relatively low energy
contribution to create sperm and women more selective because their eggs cost a
lot more time and energy to create. Men also have a theoretically infinite supply of
sperm where as women no longer create more eggs once they are born. However,
Marie is willing to have sex with anyone and everyone it would seem attempting to
quench her appetite for her sexual desires. One interpretation women s selectivity in
society acts to hurt them is that in many ways when a woman refuses or opposes a
male s sexual advantages in is viewed as a challenge to gender norms and men are
not willing to accept a woman s challenges in many ways. When women revolt
against the patriarchal determine norms, men are fast to suppress such opposition.
Thus, as Mackinnon states, Rape is occasioned by women s resistance not by men
s force; or, male force, hence rape, is created by women s resistance to sex. Men
would rape less if they got more voluntarily compliant sex from women (322).
However, Marie is more than willing to sleep around with men, yet she is still raped.
Furthermore, Marie begins the fill faithful and highly
Uh Hilo Case Study
Numerous factors contribute to an individual s decision to attend college. Our
study focused on why students specifically chose to attend the University of
Hawaii in Hilo (UH Hilo). Many interesting points emerged from our study and we
uncovered an array of themes that motivated students and influenced their final
decision. The two key points that caught my attention were affordability and Hilo
s sense of Place a geographical term referring to how places differ in relation to
physical and human characteristics. These themes spoke to me on a personal level

Of the local population we surveyed many valued the close proximity UH Hilo is in
relation to their hometown and/or families. A handful of students surveyed were
accepted into other universities but instead opted to attend UH Hilo because their
families were here in Hilo. One participant was born and raised in Ka u and after high
school spent a summer on the mainland. During his time there he realized he missed
his family and upon returning home made the decision to attend UH Hilo to be
closer to them. In Hawai i family is everything, from childhood we were taught to
depend on each other for guidance, support and thus prompted the establishment of
everlasting bonds. Of course in Hawaii the term family is an umbrella like term and
covers everything from grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews,
friends and Neighbors alike. One participant was born and raised in Hawaii
explained that his relatives on his father s side lived on the Big Island and
characterized them as being ...very laid back, tight knit and loving towards each
other . Residing with parents was rather common amongst our native Hilo
population and this is understandable as it cuts costs that are associated with
housing. One participant shared that her parents bought her a car in order to keep
her from leaving the Island for college. Two of our participants have children of
their own and two fellow researchers emphasized the importance of having family
members care for their children while attending classes. Once again, familial support
was a common reason Big Islanders chose to attend UH Hilo. For others it was the
feel of Hilo that influenced their choice. A

was the son of Europa and Zeus, but King Asterion still raised Minos as his own

prayed to the God Poseidon to provide him with a spectacular white bull to sacrifice
to the god. Poseidon granted Mino s wish, showing the people, he was the rightful
ruler over his two brothers. Minoshowever, did not sacrifice the bull and chosen a
lesser one in its place. Poseidon became angry over Mino s disobedience. Mino s
wife, Pasiphae, was installed with lusting desire for the white bull by Poseidon as
revenge. With the help of Daedalusand Icarus, Pasiphae became pregnant by the

Space Research Paper
The evolution of spaces travel began with early space explores utilized their eyes and
their minds to view and think about the heavens. An understanding of the movements
of the stars, moon and planets led to calendars that predicted seasons which was vital
to farming. The understanding of the heavens evolved from the religion enforced
Earthcentered universeto a heliocentric understanding in which the Earth and planets
revolved around the Sun. Meticulous observation and data recording by Brahe
enabled Kepler to mathematically devise three laws of elliptical planetary motion.
Galileo and Newton further developed the mathematics and physics of astrodynamics
and motion. Einstein related mass and energy with the speed of light in his famous
equation e=mc2. These advancements provided the basis for space mission planning
and execution.

The Film Grizzly Man
The film Grizzly Man aims to demonstrate the common cliche, not everything is
how it seems. It follows a man of the name Timothy Treadwell: his life before his
death, his actual death, and the impact of his death. He spent 13 summers of his life
within close proximity of grizzly bears until one takes his life. Before this event, the
public only knew him as a passionate nature enthusiast, with his focus mainly on bears
. They found entertainment in watching a cheerful idiot embracing these animals as

Fuel, SUV s and Global Warming
During the last decade, the automotive industry and many environmental agencies,
such as the EPA and Friends of the Earth, have been involved in a heated debate over
the regulation of emissions standards from light duty trucks (SUV s). While the
Friends of the Earth, an international environmental activist organization that uses
grassroots techniques, has worked hard to get the federal government to raise fuel
economies and emission standards for SUV s, the automotive industry has been more
than willing to produce mass quantities of gas guzzling machines. According to the

For example, according to the EPA, the nitrous oxide released froman SUV traps 270
times more heat per molecule in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide(1). When nitrous
oxide increases in the atmosphere, more heat is trapped in the atmosphere and
unnecessarily contributes to the earth s natural greenhouse effect.
While standards have been developed to curb these emissions since 1970, it wasn t
until 1993 that standards were placed on evaporative emissions for light duty trucks
as well as tailpipe emissions. Evaporative emissions were suspected as being equally
responsible for contributing to the increased amount of hydrocarbons and oxides of
nitrogen in the atmosphere. According to an article in Atmospheric Environment:
Evaporative emissions are divided into five types: Diurnal, which are the emissions
when the vehicle is at rest which occur due to ambient temperature changes over a
typical 24 h period; Hot soak, which is driven by residual engine heat once a
warmed up engine is parked and the engine is shut off; Running loss, which occur
when the vehicle is being driven; Resting loss, which is the constant at rest
evaporative emissions; Refueling loss, which is the displaced vapors and drippage
resulting from refueling(ВІ).
Better technology has been developed to test levels of evaporative emissions since
1993. Now the test uses a method known as the

Examples Of Zits Assumptions In Flight
Zits Assumptions In every person s life time they have and make assumptions. They
make these about themselves, other people, and situations in their life. Sometimes
these are learned from the environment a person s n or has grown up in. There are
three types of assumptions. One being paradigmatic which is the one that is
engrained in you and can be hard to realize they exist. There is the casual assumption
by which you believe that if certain events happen then there will be a certain
outcome. Finally, there is the prescriptive assumption this is the assumption that you
are told that you should do something if you want another thing happen. Everybody
makes assumptions, and everybody can learn from their assumptions. In the book
Flight the character Zits has several assumptions that he changes by the end of the
book, as well as my own self.
A casual assumption that zits makes throughout this book is, if he lets somebody love
him and show him affection, then he will be hurt by them. Zits has major trust
issues. Everyone he has loved or cared about has eventually left him or hurt him.
His dad left him and his mom when he was born. His mom died of cancer, which
was not anyone s fault, but Zits blames his dad. When he was put into foster care and
the dads would hurt him. When he got close to Edgar a man who was native
American like his dad and he crashed the airplanes hurting Zits. Everyone he tried to
show affection to pushed him away and hurt him even more. Eventually he

where they are harvested on plantations, and then packed and sold to chocolate

As mentioned earlier, 70% of cocoa beans come from plantations in western
African countries. However, most workers on these plantations are child slaves
who are abused, not paid, and confined to grueling labor for years and years. Many
of these unfortunate children aren t over the age of sixteen yet they are forced to
work from dusk till dawn. To add to this, there are a great amount of dangerous
throughout the plantation. These include exposure to toxic, agricultural chemicals
on the cocoa beans, being forced to use dangerous machetes in work, and being
crushed by hundred pound bags of packed cocoa beans. The conditions that they
live in are no better either. From sleeping on planks of wood as a bed to being fed
the bare minimum of the cheapest food, most of these children don t even receive

Booker T. Dubois Views On Racial Equality
Philosophies Towards Racial Equality
Audre Lorde once wrote in the book of poems; Our Dead Behind Us, It is not our
differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those
differences. Every race, group of people, and individuals have differences that can
dominate over their similarities. Rather than pointing out the differences, they should
be accepted and encouraged, at least this is what many thought during the time of
racism. Booker Taliaferro Washington was a very dominant figure in the African
American community. He was an educator, author, public speaker, and an advisor. In
contrast, William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was a historian, civil rights activist,
sociologist, author, writer, and editor. He worked with movements to strengthen
bonds between those with African backgrounds, under the belief of unity. Both
Washington and Du Bois were very active in the issues of racism against African
Americans during the 1900 s. Booker T. Washington and W. E. B. Du Boisstrongly
wanted change in how the black race were treated by the white race, however they
had very different points of view in which Washington thought that accommodation
was key, whereas Du Bois thought resistance would work best.
Many times, the background of a person can intensely influence their point of view.
In relation to the two important civil rights figures, their backgrounds have a great
affect on their plans for the future of African Americans. Booker T. Washington was
born a slave on a farm in Washington in 1856. Being a slave, he was unfortunately
able to see all of the devastating violence and inequality behind the scenes. Booker
T. knew the kind of control the whites had over everyone else, along with knowing
how far of measures they would go in relation to harm and suffering. Because of this,
he supported and influenced a peaceful way of ending the issue. He wanted others to
temporarily accept the inconvenience, and wait for change overtime. Washington
once said, If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else. He had confidence that
making friends and allies with the white community would eventually eliminate all
racism and discrimination in a very peaceful and nonviolent way. This also
Sir William Wallace
The qualities of a good leader do not accumulate over time you either have them or
you do not. Leadership is for people who have a enough courage to stand for their
cause. Martin Luther King Jr a civil rights activist once said The ultimate measure
of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where
he stands at times of challenge and controversy. even with the odds he had he
fought his hardest to get equal rights for African American citizens. He was arrested
30 times during his role in the movement, he embarked on an almost 14 year
peaceful conquest. The qualities and the laws he was standing against certainly
show that he is a good leader, and he would change the United States for ever and be

William was a Scottish knight who was one of the main leaders during the wars of
Scottish independence. He rallied thirty men to attack British garrisons to start the
rebellion. After the small scale he fought on a greater level when he and his men
won the battle of Stirling bridge greatly outnumbered and captured the Stirling
castle. He fought for independence for eight years to end the British rule over
Scotland. Even in death, he was remembered as Scotland s greatest hero for
standing against a higher opposing force. Twenty three years after his death
Scotland finally gained independence. It may seem difficult at first, but everything
is difficult at first. Qualities of leaders do not always appear in the beginning,
sometimes they are latent and are exposed when they need it. Leaders like some of
the above mentioned need courage, to stand for what they believe in. Bravery and
confidence because you are not always going to be in a fair fight or it is not going
to be easy, so you have to be willing to stand for it. They have to have listening
skills, to listen to the people that are supporting them and listen to why they are being
resisted. Honor to have known when they have won or to play

Marketing for the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, and Female Harley Davidson

Today s marketer must take into consideration many generational differences when
considering a marketing strategy for a product. Most products are intended for a
massive audience, requiring the marketer to utilize an integrated marketing scheme to
encompass all generations.Specialized products, being marketed to a specific sector,
also have a unique opportunity to market directly to a target audience. Being aware
of the differences in marketing to mass audiences and the targeting of specific
groups, is a valuable arrow in the quiver of a marketer. Comparing the differences in
the older generations gives the marketer an insight into how to mass market, while
targeting the groups as a whole. There is also an interesting opportunity for the
marketer to target a very specific group for specialized products. While the job of the
marketer remains the same, the methodology must be different to reach the intended
audiences.

Modern Day Relevance of The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents produced
by an American thinker. Reading The Declaration of Independence presents the
reader with a window into the world of revolutionary America. It conveys the
dynamic nature of the time better than any written work of the period. The real
importance of The Declaration of Independence lies not in the purpose for which
Jefferson created it, to declare independence from Great Britain, but rather how future
generations have interpreted Jefferson s words. Jefferson s document originally
guaranteed basic rights for a select segment of the American population. Today it has

The main problem faced by Americans in the Antebellum time periodwas whether or
not to abolish the institution of African American slavery. Many abolitionists, such as
Andrew Lloyd Garrison and Frederick Douglas, among others, would use the moving
language of The Declaration of Independence to attack Southern slaveholders for
keeping their fellow human beings in bondage. They claimed the current government
was failing to secure the rights of, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, for a
sizable portion of the American population.
Clearly the fact that the creator of The Declaration of Independence owned slaves
made it hard to believe that the aim of the document was to secure the rights of the
African American population. In fact, Jefferson believed that blacks were
intellectually inferior to whites, and incapable of sustaining the Republic. He argued
for a theory on creation that was dismissed by other intellectuals of the time called
the Theory of Polygenesis. This theory was based on the assumption that God had not
created humankind all at once, rather God had created the different races at different
times. Jefferson believed God had created people of European origin to be superior to
other races, and that people of African ancestry were not related to whites genetically.
He used this theory to justify slavery even though he thought that the institution itself
was detrimental to the

3. Assaults in WSN: Wireless systems are helpless to security assaults because of
the show way of the correspondence standard. Besides, remote sensor systems have
an additional weakness since hubs are every now and again set in a forceful or risky
environment where they are not really sheltered. Assaults on WSNs can be ordered
from two distinctive levels of perspectives: Attack against security components.
Assault against fundamental components (like steering instruments). The assaults
could be arranged on the preparation of the root of the assaults i.e. Inside or External,
and on the conduct of the assault i.e. Detached or Active assault. This grouping is
critical in light of the fact that the aggressor can misuse the system either as inner,
outer or/and also dynamic or latent assault against the system.
A. Inward/External Attack External aggressors are in a general sense outside the
systems who need to access the system and once they access the system they begin

the total immigrant population, many of which have settled in New York City and
California. The selective phenomenon known as migration has been impelled by the
demographic, economic, social and psychological attributes of the location

Occupation became the driving force for some; the numbers of professional

rate of workers, there is an increasing number of Thai youngsters, in keeping with the
national tradition of openness to Western influences (Desbarats 306). It was believed
that education through the United States would lead to professional success. Student
visas were only obtained if the student had financial support as well as the incentive
to go back to Thailand usually in the form of financial ties with their home country
(Desbarats 307). Many immigrants found themselves burdened by the conditions of
living in the states. The financial and psychological struggles were not worth it when
immigrants were risking to construct networks, maintain homeland ties and, ensure
that remittances reach families left behind (Barkan 19). Immigrants who stay in the

the later generations. The primary contact with American culture happens through
interaction with their American peers (Tangsujjapoj 3). Social participation is what

1950 s. After a bunch of rabble The first concepts of the Internet were invented in
the 1960 s who saw much use in allowing computers to share information. It was
mainly used for scientific and military purposes, research, development, and sorts.
J.C.R. Licklider of MIT first suggested the idea of a global network of computers in
1962. He moved to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop the
Internet. A while later, the Internet was brought online in 1969, but was previously
known as ARPANET. It was done under contract with the renamed Advanced
Research Projects Agency. At first, It connected four major computers, which were
located in different universities. The mystical Internet was designed to provide a
communications network that would still function even if some dominant sites
were down. The early Internet was used by computer experts, engineers, scientists,
and librarians. There were no personal computers back in the day, and everyone
who used it had to learn an extremely complex system. Two scores and three years
ago, (1972) Email was adapted by Ray Tomlinson. He selected the @ symbol from
the available symbols on his teletype to link a username and address. Some time later
in the 70 s, the Internet developed further, thanks to TCP/IP architecture initially
proposed by Bob Kahn. In 1986 the National Science Foundation funded NSFNet as
a cross country 56 Kbps fortitude for
Agree or Disagree
Essay Topic: Do you agree or disagree? It is sometimes important for people to do
things that they do not enjoy doing.
To lead a successful life, one must be able to tackle difficult situations and overcome
obstacles. In doing so, we must face with tasks that we do not find to be pleasant but
difficult, painful, and uncomfortable. For example, a university student must devote
much time to study, research, and prepare for exams instead of doing more
enjoyable activities such as: socializing with friends, playing sports, partying, etc. In
my opinion, it is very important for everybody, regardless of occupation, to do things
we do not enjoy in order to be successful.
One of the important things in life is preparation. It is commonly ... Show more

Also, a large amount of the tremendous profit he earned has been donated to many

Apparently, forbidden fruit is sweetest, and though many young people have wasted
their invaluable time on trivial things and bad stuff like drug, gambling and crime,
many of them have managed to get up and begin from scratch. I myself admire that,
their youth then is not wasted too much but used in a particular way.
Nowadays, with the development of the world in many fields, the contribution of the
young is very important. The society needs to pay attention to orienting the young,
keeping them aware of their own worth. Only by doing so can we make the young do
the right thing in the right way.
Do You Agree Or disagree: Young People Enjoy Life more Than Older People?
Personally, from a common sense, I agree with the statement. Before I write down
the main point, I d like to clarify what is enjoying life . Actually, different people
hold different opinions towards the real life meaning, let alone the way about how to
enjoy life. In this essay, I want to confine the meaning of enjoying life to the extent
of how happy the people are in the life. Then we may draw some conclusions about it.
Firstly, I have to say that young people have more energy and time to pursue their
dreams. The process of struggling is just the way young people totally enjoy life.
However, older people usually lack the
Ann Guerrro s Essay My Mother Woke A Rooster
A Roosters Pride As a child one of the most traumatic experiences you can witness
grow up is seeing your parents abuse one another. Imagine these two towering
figures expressing love to each other then simply exploding into massive contorting
images of chaos in the matter of seconds. It is not a memory forever recorded and
never forgotten. The inability to rationalize the situation or figure out who is right or
wrong just wanting it to stop. In the poem My MotherWoke a Rooster , award
winning poet. Laurie Ann Guerrro reveals the aftermath of physical abuse and her
mother s fighting will to continue to persevere by personifying her mother as that of
a rooster.
The speaker begins the first stanza of the poem by having the speaker introduce the
reader to her location, a place where most family spend quality ... Show more content

In such a small space the speaker acknowledges the atmosphere in the room created
by her mother s silence and possible nod to the metaphorical elephant in the room
regarding her mother s bruising. She could also be informing the reader of her size
in relation to her mother, possibly showing the reader her age being a child looking
up at an adult. Which would also explain how as a child, children see their parents
as Godly figures incapable of doing wrong correlating back to the lines implied by
her mother appearing as a saint in the initial stanza. The speaker also mentions her
mother s thighs, describing how strong they are shows that her mother is not only
strong of heart by also physically strong. The ease of her strut depicts how the
speaker is bewildered at how her mother can move about after enduring her abuse.
As a rooster struts, it s chest is flared making itself appear proud and twice its size.
Her mother is conscious of her child watching makes her movement appear effortless
so not to frighten her or give her cause for
Cinderella Research Papers
Fairytale Dream or True Love
As a little girl, one always dreams of becoming a princess, wonders who her prince
charming will be, and how beautiful she will feel on the day of her fairytale
wedding. Disney princesses have always given those curious little minds a role
model to look up to. Cinderella was a less than average girl, for example, who later
met the man of her dreams and became royalty. Although a film written strictly
from one s imagination, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, could very well
be thought of as another one of those classic Disney princesses. Just an average girl
who had a normal life is now in line for the throne. Some may say she was willing to
do anything to make her childhood dreams reality, while others ... Show more content

After breaking up with her boyfriend in 2002, Kate Middleton would be a
participant in a charity fashion show. It was here, Prince William would pay a
pricey penny to sit front row. Although, just friends at the time, Middleton showing
off sexy lingerie that was very revealing was sure to send their relationship to the
next level. After about a year or so of just being friends Will and Kate finally began
dating in 2002 (www.biography.com). The couple decided to keep their relationship
private for as long as possible to keep the paparazzi away. Kate wanted to finish her
studies in peace, and Will wanted the same for her because his mother s death was
caused by the overbearing paparazzi. They agreed to not sit by each other, talk too
much to each other, or hold hands in public. This kept the paparazzi away for a little
while, but two years later in 2004, Kate was caught with the royal family on a ski trip
(www.biography.com.) After constantly being followed by cameras and becoming a
tabloid favorite in 2005, Kate Middleton received twenty four hour security from
the Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Department in 2006. This led many
followers of the couple to believe an engagement was soon to follow
(www.researchhistory.org.) That was hardly the case. Just like any other
relationship, this one had its ups and downs as well. British tabs had dubbed her
Waity Katie (People Weekly 64), and Prince William was constantly pressured to
The Conflict Between The Hutu And Tutsi Tribes In Rwanda
Rivalries between neighboring areas have historically led to violent altercations. This
is especially the case in Rwanda, between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes that founded the
nation. Their relationship was not like that at first the tensions seemed to increase
when European powers intervened with the tribes. When Rwandabecame
independent, the malicious competition continued because the tribes had become
accustomed to it and adopted it on their own. It is so implanted in their culture that
even the leaders have been promoting the separation. The biggest challenge facing
present Rwanda is trying to unite the people as a whole and forget about the hateful
rivalry between the founding Hutuand Tutsitribes. Their once feudal division has
evolved into a destructive competition over ethnic superiority as the nation gained
power and eventually became independent.
Originally, the relationship between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes was not hostile it was a
contractual agreement based on skill. The Hutus, who had settled in Rwanda first,
were mainly involved in small scale agriculture. The Tutsis were more advanced
socially and politically and took over control once they migrated to the area. Tutsi
people were cattle herders and soon developed a client patron like arrangement with
the Hutus, called Ubhuahke. In this agreement, Hutus provided personal services and
allegiance in exchange for Tutsis providing them cattle, land, and protection (Rwanda,
UPenn). Although they were the minority

The mental state of a person with obsessive compulsive disorder is one of uncertainty most of the time. Though a mental disorder determined many decisions in his life so far, his goal is to prove that mental disorders do not define who a person is. Each time a more known cliche was used, it could then easily be predicted that something bad was going to happen. This was not necessarily a bad thing. This kind of writing style made the book easier to read, and surprisingly more relatable to readers. The mood of the story fluctuates heavily just as tone, especially toward the climax of the book.   • 9. Female Offenders And Male Offenders Statistics show that the number of female offenders in the legal system has been increasing steadily. The number of female offenders entering the American justice system is growing at a rate faster than males. Statistics from the United States in 2010 show the female offender population to be increasing by 2.7% each year, compared to the male population at a rate of 1.8% each year, with similar statistics being seen in other Western countries (West Sabol, 2010). The continued increase has made understanding female offenders and their catalysts for committing crimemore imperative. Despite the general consensus that the number of females involved in crime is continuing to rise, males are still the dominant gender committing crimes, especially for violent offences. This may be why there is a continued lack of research on female offenders using a gender specific approach that accounts for gender differences. Historically, female offenders have been primarily studied using a gender neutral model comprising mainly male offenders. Although there is support that a gender neutral model can effectively apply to both male and female offenders (van der Knaap et al. 2012), there has been an ongoing debate on whether the pathways and processes that lead to female offending can be successfully explained and ultimately applied to interventions and preventions by using theories originally created to explain male crime (Steffensmeier Allan, 1996). By doing so, individuals were allowed to use firearms for two purposes: self defense and hunting. In time, kings chose to trust their subjects with arms and to modify and supplement the militia if need be (Malcom 3). Individuals were given the right to bear arms in exchange for their participation in England s militia, which consists of able bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service ( Militia ). While at first this was something I hated about myself. Now being dyslexic is something that makes me who I am today, and this is something I should never be ashamed of. By the time I was in 1st grade all of my friends were learning to read and write, while I tried my hardest to just get by. For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what this man is going through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all the things many others take for granted everyday of their lives. The author of this poem, who has obviously been exiled, does an exquisite job of showing, maybe even teaching, to the reader how important the things are that you lose in life when exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest loss of all when you are exiled, you take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem purposeful for you to live out the day you just began. This is obviously the idea the author is trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem The Seafarer, also composed by an unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in the ways people have been exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship is in many ways quite similar to being exiled from your homeland. Numerous passages in this poem show this mans painful life at sea. The one that stands out most greatly to me is this passage;

As Simone de Beauvoir describes sex in virtually every setting, sex is rape because the penis is invading a woman s private space who has little control and lacks choice and autonomy (Beauvoir). While the Friends of the Earth, an international environmental activist organization that uses grassroots techniques, has worked hard to get the federal government to raise fuel economies and emission standards for SUV s, the automotive industry has been more than willing to produce mass quantities of gas guzzling machines. For example, according to the EPA, the nitrous oxide released froman SUV traps 270 times more heat per molecule in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide(1). When nitrous oxide increases in the atmosphere, more heat is trapped in the atmosphere and unnecessarily contributes to the earth s natural greenhouse effect. While standards have been developed to curb these emissions since 1970, it wasn t until 1993 that standards were placed on evaporative emissions for light duty trucks as well as tailpipe emissions. Evaporative emissions were suspected as being equally responsible for contributing to the increased amount of hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen in the atmosphere. According to an article in Atmospheric Environment: Evaporative emissions are divided into five types: Diurnal, which are the emissions when the vehicle is at rest which occur due to ambient temperature changes over a typical 24 h period; Hot soak, which is driven by residual engine heat once a warmed up engine is parked and the engine is shut off; Running loss, which occur when the vehicle is being driven; Resting loss, which is the constant at rest evaporative emissions; Refueling loss, which is the displaced vapors and drippage resulting from refueling(ВІ). • 33. Booker T. Dubois Views On Racial Equality Philosophies Towards Racial Equality Audre Lorde once wrote in the book of poems; Our Dead Behind Us, It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. Every race, group of people, and individuals have differences that can dominate over their similarities. Rather than pointing out the differences, they should be accepted and encouraged, at least this is what many thought during the time of racism. Booker Taliaferro Washington was a very dominant figure in the African American community. He was an educator, author, public speaker, and an advisor. In contrast, William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was a historian, civil rights activist, sociologist, author, writer, and editor. He worked with movements to strengthen bonds between those with African backgrounds, under the belief of unity. Both Washington and Du Bois were very active in the issues of racism against African Americans during the 1900 s. Booker T. Washington and W. E. B. Du Boisstrongly wanted change in how the black race were treated by the white race, however they had very different points of view in which Washington thought that accommodation was key, whereas Du Bois thought resistance would work best. Many times, the background of a person can intensely influence their point of view. In relation to the two important civil rights figures, their backgrounds have a great affect on their plans for the future of African Americans. Booker T. Washington was born a slave on a farm in Washington in 1856. Being a slave, he was unfortunately able to see all of the devastating violence and inequality behind the scenes. Booker T. knew the kind of control the whites had over everyone else, along with knowing how far of measures they would go in relation to harm and suffering. Because of this, he supported and influenced a peaceful way of ending the issue. He wanted others to temporarily accept the inconvenience, and wait for change overtime. Washington once said, If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else. He had confidence that making friends and allies with the white community would eventually eliminate all racism and discrimination in a very peaceful and nonviolent way. This also

The main problem faced by Americans in the Antebellum time periodwas whether or not to abolish the institution of African American slavery. They claimed the current government was failing to secure the rights of, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, for a sizable portion of the American population. Clearly the fact that the creator of The Declaration of Independence owned slaves made it hard to believe that the aim of the document was to secure the rights of the African American population. In fact, Jefferson believed that blacks were intellectually inferior to whites, and incapable of sustaining the Republic. He argued for a theory on creation that was dismissed by other intellectuals of the time called the Theory of Polygenesis.
