LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

Li Ning – Anything is Possible
Sharing Zhang's belief that a superior level of category leadership was within reach if the Li Ning
brand could somehow acquire elements of brand strength equivalent to those associated with the
Nike and Adidas names, vice president of marketing Abel Wu was pursuing a marketing strategy
aimed at establishing in people's minds, just in time for the Olympics, a uniquely differentiated
position for the Li Ning brand. Chief among Zhang's concerns at this point was how to integrate Li
Ning's decision–making to ensure that new opportunities could be seized while making the most of

In 2001, the company announced a conscious decision to become more customer focused, and

achieve transparency and adopt a coherent vision and system of company values. Brand
internationalization was incorporated in the business strategy. Company growth was driven by
overall growth in the domestic economy and supported by investments in R&D and a stream of new
product launches. With significant improvements in design, especially in footwear, it became

HOSTING OLYMPICS GAME, IS IT WORTH IT?
Introduction
The Olympic games was firstly introduced in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece, as a religious celebration
to honor Zeus, a god in Ancient Greek mythology. It was a series of athletic competitions where
representative from each city–state and then compete to become a winner. Nowadays, the modern
Olympic games has become one of the most prestigious sport event in the world. There are
thousands of participants and athletes come from hundreds of countries all over the world to
compete in more than 50 sports. The first modern Games was held in Athens, Greece, in 1896 and
then followed by the winter games that were started in 1924. Each game is held quadrennial with
two–year difference between summer and winter games. The Olympic games is managed by
International Olympic Committee (IOC) and there is also representative committee in several
countries around the world which is called National Olympic Games Committee (NOC).
Just like the others sport events, such as World Cup, the Olympic games is held in different cities
and different countries. So that there must be a special procedure to select the host city for the
games, which is through an open–bidding process that is started seven years prior to the game.

8. Turnover In The Hospitality Industry: A Case Study
INTRODUCTION
As a highly competitive industry, the hospitality business has a higher turnover rate when compared
to other sectors of the economy (Blomme, Rheede & Tromp, 2010). This rate is even higher among
female employees, who account for 55.5 percent of all hospitality employees at global level
(Blomme, Tromp & Rheede, 2008; Baum, 2013). The substantial costs typically associated with
high employee turnover have raised growing awareness within hospitality businesses that the
retention of committed employees is central to their comparative advantage and success
(Alexandrov, Babakus & Yavas, 2007). Work–family conflict (WFC) is considered to be one of the
major causes for the high turnover rate of female employees in the hospitality industry (Blomme,
Tromp & Rheede, 2008). Hoque (1999) points out that the low job security, long working hours, a
high need for coordination with others, and shift work at irregular hours are reasons why women
find to maintain a satisfied work–family balance is particularly difficult, which may lead to their
turnover.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo boosted the development of China's
hospitality industry dramatically. The hotel industry in China has been growing at an average of
8.8%, to an estimated $53.2 billion in the five years through 2015 (IBIS World, 2015). The rapid
social modernization in both work and lifestyles as China continues to transform into a market
economy–oriented society results in more

Social Movements against Bidding for Sport Mega–events: A Case Study of the 2024 Summer
Olympics
Introduction
Governments currently show great interest in sport mega–events investment since that they may
have the opportunity to stimulate economic development, create international image and prestige,
generate a 'feel–good' factor among citizens and inspire grassroots participation (Grix and
Carmichael, 2012). Moreover, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) states that their critical
mission is 'to promote a positive legacy from the Olympic Games to the host countries'
(International Olympic Committee, 2007, p.15), although legacy is hard to define or measure and
could be both positive and negative in practice (Agha, et al. 2012). In particular, emerging states like
China, South Africa and Brazil have managed to bid for the Olympics or the World Cup. The use of
hosting sport mega–events to enhance their soft power and achieve equal positions in global affairs
has been highlighted in recent years (Grix and Lee, 2013).
However, the effect of sport mega–events has been challenged, questioning whether to host these
events or not (Lauermann, 2015). As Chalip points out, host countries may fail to make preparations
for the staging of sport mega–events and encounter the risk of soft disempowerment. Meanwhile,
anti–Olympics social campaigns have arisen in many advanced capitalist countries. Consequently,
they have had a considerable influence on the bids for sport mega–events

14. Taking a Look at Ai Weiwei
Ai Weiwei, a Chinese contemporary artist as well as a political activist was born in Beijing on May
18, 1957. When Ai was only one year old him and his family were sent to a labor camp. It was not
for sixteen years later at the end of the Cultural Revolution until his family moved back to Beijing.
He studied animation at the Beijing Film Academy in 1978. After his studies he spent about twelve
years in the United States and studied at the Parsons School of Design where he soon dropped out.
For income he became a street artist, doing drawings on the side. When his father had become sick
in 1993, Ai returned to Beijing from New York City. He then became the artist director and co–
founder of the China Art Achieves and Warehouse. This is about the time when some controversial
pieces are now starting to come about. In 1993, Ai Weiwei then had moved to the North side of
China in a town called Coachanghdi, this is where he started to do architectural work, including his
studio house. This is when he founded the FAKE design, which is an architectural studio. Ai's
biggest controversial issue is when he was arrested on false tax evasions and detained for three
months. After his arrest Ai Weiwei is no longer permitted to leave China and is under tight security
by the Chinese government. He is not allowed to leave the country because he is under other
criminal investigations, which include pornography, illegal exchange of foreign currency, and

16. The Importance Of The National Anthem
The decision, made by Colin Kaepernick and a handful of other NFL players, to kneel or sit down
during the playing of the American Nation Anthem is an immature and disrespectful gesture to this
country and to our flag. There are better more respectful ways to protest and put out word about
your cause. While it is our first amendment right to not stand up for the National Anthem, it is my
opinion that kneeling for the flag shows disrespect for this country, our armed forces, and the flag
itself.
The flag has a section of code in the U.S. law books called the flag code. This was adopted on June
14, 1923, by the National Flag Conference which Navy and Army representatives attended. Title 4
chapter 1 section 9 states, "All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with
their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their right hand and
hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart." While there are no legal repercussions to
violating these codes, it shows a great disrespect to the flag and to the country. This section of code
also states that citizens of other countries should stand in attention to show respect for the nation.
A great example of a foreign athlete showing respect to the United States National Anthem would be
Usain Bolt. During a trackside interview that was being conducted with Mr. Bolt, the U.S. National
Anthem started to play at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, Usain politely interrupted

One of my most memorable moments was Jamaica's performance in the 2008 Olympics where
beloved Jamaican Sprinter and Ambassador Usain Bolt, set three world records and won three gold
medals. I am Jamaican by birth and like all other Jamaicans Usain Bolt holds a special place in my
heart because of his will, grit and tenacity. Every record they said he wouldn't break he has broken
and then went on to break his own records and every criticism he has received he has let roll off his
shoulders and continue to perform outstandingly and with style. Bolt brought track and field into a
different era when he won in 9.69 s with a reaction time of 0.165 s in the 2008 Olympic 100m final.
In doing this he broke his own world record, and finished well ahead of second–place finisher
Richard Thompson, who finished in 9.89 s. This record is even more remarkable because it was set
without a favorable wind (+0.0 m/s), and towards the finish line he slowed to celebrate and his
shoelace was untied. In fact, sans these factors and considering his position, acceleration and
velocity in comparison to his competitors; his coach and the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics at

"The inclusion of the package of new sports will afford young athletes the chance of a lifetime to
realize their dreams of competing in the Olympic Games – the world's greatest sporting stage – and
inspire them to achieve their best, both in sport and in life (Elliott)." Softball should be back in the

Softball should be in the Olympics because it is one of the most popular female sports in the world.
"The hopes and dreams of millions of softball athletes across the globe have been answered"
(Softball and baseball added to the Olympics in 2020). There are over 245,000 softball teams,
comprising more than 3.5 million players. There are about 100 National Championships a year.
"Softball and baseball is global reach, loyal fan–base and positioning across many of the biggest
sport markets including Japan and many more" (Softball back in the Olympics). There are more
people than ever that watch softball and baseball it's starting to become world wide thing. "This is
the sixth year that we will be running the world cup of Oklahoma City" "It is an international event.
This year we will have 6 teams" (Elliott) There are more and more teams from other countries that
are joining and there is going to be more and more games for softball.

stadium dominated 258,000 square meters of space and was constructed with 36 km of unwrapped
steel, weighting about 45,000tonnes. The surface of the National stadium was designed by covering
a colossal saddle–shaped elliptic steel, with a hanging roof. The steel structure spend 42,000 ton

government, during the construction break the whole project had been redesigned, and the roof was
eventually removed. It took five years to finish this project. The project closed out on June
2008(Ren, 2008, p. 175).
2. Analysis of Issues
The objective of the stadium can be considered as two levels including national level and project
level. For the national level, the stadium is designed for a landmark building by mixture of Chinese
art and traditional cultures. This is also to increase the recognition and awareness of 2008 Beijing
Olympic. For the project level, the construction needs to meet all technical requirements and all
athletes' demands. (Ke, 2014, p. 90–91). Also, the objective of such a project should be aligned with

Badminton originated in Ancient Greece and Egypt, but they knew it as battledore and shuttlecock.
At this time rules weren't written in hard ink, it was just a game played by children for fun. The bat
was called the battledore, and the birdie was known as the shuttlecock. Players were supposed to hit
the shuttlecock with the bat and keep it in the air as long as possible, and the object of the game was
to keep it from touching the ground. Badminton was very popular in India, called poona in the
eighteen hundreds. This game also became popular in England, due to British soldiers bringing it
from India. This game was widely played by the duke and other high class people. When brought to
England it was renamed badminton. Badminton got its name because the Duke's house was called
Badminton. Years later their was a dispute over whether the Indian or the British rules were correct,
because the rules weren't official. This led to the creation of a badminton organization , who created
official rules for the badminton game. Members included in the organization were England, Wales,
Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Holland, Canada, New Zealand, and France, India was also an affiliate

40. The Olympic Ice Hockey Team Winning A Game
The "Miracle on Ice" was more than just the United States Olympic Ice Hockey Team winning a
game. The win for the United States had major political impacts on the United States, the Soviet
Union and the Cold War.
The Soviet Union entered the Lake Placid games as the favorite, having won the last four ice hockey
gold medals all the way back to the 1964 games. In the four Olympics following their 1960 loss to
Team USA at Squaw Valley, Soviet teams had gone 27–1–1 and outscored the opposition 175–44. In
match–ups against the United States, the total score over those games was 28–7 with Russia
outscoring the US. The Soviet players, some were active–duty military, played in an elite league in

experience in international play. The United States head coach, Herb Brooks, conducted tryouts in

42. Mega Events Like The Olympics And Fifa World Cup
Mega–Events like the Olympics and FIFA world Cup are both tremendously important and popular
today. It is because there are so few, if any, other events that truly inspire international cooperation
and unity like they do. If one can imagine these events as a mirrors reflecting back the organization
of international politics, the mega –events show a picture of incredible harmony and cooperation
(Segrave, 1988). Inherent in that picture of harmony is the opportunity to spread important ideals
such as equality, freedom, and democracy throughout the world. In addition "global mega events
like the world cup and the Olympics have become incredibly effective tools for reorganizing an
economy on neoliberal grounds." The Olympics in particular has emerged as the premier event in
the international community. However, for all its acclaim, the presentation of the games is
drastically different from the games of old. Throughout the evolution the intentions of the games has

politically and economically. In this chapter I will discuss the evolution of the Games conceptually,
in order to pose the ultimate question; Why host the Olympics? The First Games The first Games of

44. The Olympic Games Or A Party
The Olympic Games or a Party The Olympics are a special spectacle for everyone, and for sixteen
days every two years we are witness to the best athletes in the world. Only for the rare few the
dream to compete are a reality, but for the billions of other people, this is an event of pride and
passion for their home country. The continuous cycle of new cities and different countries hosting
the games brings out great nationalism. The challenge to get a bid to host the Olympics has always
been difficult but as the cost of the games rises the number of cities vying for it is decreasing. The
Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world, and they are one of the most well known
events across the world. Being host to an event like this brings great revenue into a country 's
economy through tourism and the need for jobs and construction. But the Olympics are becoming
very costly and countries are beginning to wonder if its worth it to host the "party" when they know
they will not earn all the money back. The Olympics ruin economies and the games tend to hurt
countries more than help them. The games are played every two years alternating between the
summer and winter Olympics. It roughly plays host to about 90 countries all vying for one goal, the
gold. The Olympics originated in ancient Greece with the first ever recorded games occurring in 776
B.C. For the first thirteen Olympics only one event occurred, but now the number has risen to three
hundred events which puts great

International sporting events continually face political terrorism, bringing fear to those who gathered
for entertainment. According to articles published in the Guardian, Time Magazine, and CNN, the
most detrimental disruption by politics in the Olympics occurred at the 1972 Germany Summer
Games. On 5 September 1972, the Palestinian group Black September broke into the Israeli athletes'
quarters armed with guns. The 21 hour standoff, more famously known as the Munich massacre,
resulted in 17 deaths. The Games were suspended for the first time in modern Olympic history, but
the Olympic Committee decided to continue days after. The Olympic Committee 's decision was met
with harsh criticism from the public (Burnton; Cosgrove; "The Munich Massacre: A Survivor 's
Story"). During the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia attracted terrorists who caused more
social devastation. With the intention of inflicting fear and damaging Russia's image, jihadists
frequently issued terrorist threats before and during the Games. CNN presented a statement that two
Al Qaeda linked suicide bombers made in an online video, "We 've prepared a present for you and
all tourists who 'll come over; if you will hold the Olympics, you 'll get a present from us for the
Muslim blood that 's been spilled" (Shoichet). The video foreshadowed a suicide bombing 400 miles

48. Hosting The Olympics Game, Is It Worth It? Essay
HOSTING THE OLYMPICS GAME, IS IT WORTH IT?
Introduction
The Olympic games were firstly introduced in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece, as a religious
celebration to honor Zeus, a god in Ancient Greek mythology. It was a series of athletic
competitions where representatives from each city–state and then compete to become a winner.
Nowadays, the modern Olympic games have become one of the most prestigious events in the
world. There are thousands of participants and athletes come from hundreds of countries all over the
world to compete in more than 50 sports. The first modern Games was held in Athens, Greece, in
1896 and then followed by the winter games that were started in 1924. Each game is held
quadrennial with a two–year difference between summer and winter games. The Olympic games are
managed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and there is also a representative
committee in several countries around the world which is called National Olympic Games
Committee (NOC).
Just like the others sports events, such as World Cup, the Olympic games are held in different cities
and different countries. So that there must be a special procedure to select the host city for the
games, which is through an open–bidding process that is started seven years prior to the game.
However, the bidding process literally starts earlier, it might be eight or nine years prior, since there
will be also 'domestic competition' within a country to select which city that will represent their
country to

50. The Importance Of Community Service
community service they oblige to do," Few of our programs seem to care about the relationship
between service and the classroom. Until then, the relevance is null –– it becomes another
assignment, compulsory and at risk of being completed half–heartedly." as JAAlonzo and Walter
Payton argued in the debate. More doubt focused on the "sincerity" of the participants, especially
when it comes to "mandatory service", people suspect if students will keep their genuineness and
passion of committing when volunteering becomes mandatory. On the other side, "Requiring
community service or granting credit for it does not cheapen it, nor does it lessen the effect of it,"
another student wrote in a counterpoint editorial. "It gives students who might not have otherwise
done so the chance to understand the most important lesson they can learn: that they have power to
better their world." (Sparks, 2013)
As for China, people started to become familiar with the concept of "Voluntary service" after its first
being introduced into China in 1990s, and it concentrates mainly in the fields of social charity,
urgent aids, knowledge popularization and public welfare. (Luckystar, 2012) As an important
element of social service (one of the three functions of institutions of higher education in China), it's
a fundamental form of college students' donation with their manual and mental energy to give back
to the world and fulfill their self–value.
Up to now, social service combining voluntary service

52. Competing Against Doping
Competing Against Doping Sport is thought of as an activity that is governed by a set of rules and is
engaged in competitively, while doping is the idea of using banned natural or synthetic substance for
the purpose of enhancing performance in sport. In this paper I will argue against the fallacies
presented on the topic of allowing doping in sports. I will argue that the notion of doping in sports is
not based on sound moral reasoning and given the choice, not all athletes will chose to dope. The
idea of doping in sport has been around since the early 19th century, with the first ever case being
recorded at the 1896 Bordeaux–Paris race following the death of Welsh cyclist Arthur Lindon
(European Commission, 2003). I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cycling calls for an athlete to be 19, while boxing and gymnastics have a minimum age of 17 years
old and 16 years old respectively. The youngest age requirements of all the events are for swimming
and diving at 15 and 14 years of age. With an Olympians career starting at such a young age, it
brings about the question: can an athlete really consider a two or four year ban a small penalty? The
answer is no. The average age of the athletes who participated in the 2008 Beijing Summer
Olympics was 24 years old, with the average age of retirement for a world class athlete being only
33 years of age (Strength Planet, 2008). With the Summer Olympics happening every four years, it
follows then that the average 20 year old athlete has the chance to compete in only four Olympics
before retirement. If guilty of trafficking or administering performance enhancing drugs, the chances
of qualifying are reduced to three years. The argument has been made that when "the risk of being
caught is zero, athletes will all chose to cheat" (Savulescu et al., 2008). Two problems arise from
this argument, the first being with the premise and the second with the conclusion. The premise
indicates that there will at one point be zero risk for being caught using drugs which leads to all
athletes cheating. This argument certainly models the fallacy of slippery slope. Associating no risk
of being caught with all athletes

because I want to understand how this process of McDonaldization is affecting the Olympic games
in his traditions and who's deciding what happens on the competitions in considerations of
scheduling times and events broadcasting. Why is it so important for NBC to put the events in prime
time for the United States ? And how can the will of "one big company" decide over many others

The main issue that we find in the managing choice of the IOC is the hegemony of power enforced
by the main investors. "Some people may rile against the commercialization or Americanization of
the Olympics but figures show that the dollars from the US is critical for the sustenance of the
Olympic movement. Besides TV, the IOC's another major stream of income is private partnership."(
D.Jones 2012) On the NBC side, it was a very smart move that took place a while ago during the
cold war, when USA used the Olympics to prove the supremacy over the USSR. It's not only about
broadcasting the games in their own country, but also getting the visibility globally as the main
protagonists of the global event. All this income from the US for the committee is vital to keep the
games happening, the big problem now days is that the structure of the Olympics is entirely based
on big companies paying "the bills" for the massive costs that have to be covered to organize,
manage and built facilities and events for the games. So from a IOC's managing perspective the
choice of keeping happy major investors makes sense and it wouldn't be so criticized if it was a little
less against the Olympic spirit. Athletes being forced to race at early morning hours by McDonald's,
Coca–Cola's etc ads is not really what the spirit of the event should be. But to make everything

ceremonies. The

60. Costs And Benefits Of Hosting The Olympic Games
Is It Worth It?: Analyzing the Costs and Benefits of Hosting the Olympic Games It's a gorgeous
early August day. You just want to be outside, regardless of what you are doing. Are you? Nope. You
are sitting in your car, stuck in traffic because your evening commute home has tripled in time due
to the traffic. This is a common side–effect of hosting the Olympic Games. On the other hand, the
influx of people coming into the city does wonders for the local economy. Every few years,
countries throw mind–blowing amounts of money at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for
the right to host the Olympic Games, but is it worth it for the country and its citizens? In 2015,
Boston was in contention to host the 2024 summer Games, but ultimately lost out to Paris, much to
many Bostonians delight. Was their reaction justified, or did they just miss out on a great
opportunity? The monetary costs of hosting the Olympic Games are astronomical. The most evident
cost of hosting the Olympic Games are the monetary costs that come with hosting the Games. At the
Summer Games in 2008, Beijing spent "at least US$100 million" on the Opening Ceremonies alone,
according to Rishav Bista, Assistant Professor of Economics at Marshall University. That is just
where the costs start. At the time of their bid, many hopeful–host cities do not have the stadiums or
arenas needed to accommodate all the events or the amount of people who will be in attendance.

Political In New Zealand, this year the laws surrounding drugs in sport have been updated so that
they are now at the same standard of those of the World Anti–Doping Agency's 2015 world anti–
doping code. This meant increasing the penalty of those caught using performance enhancing drugs
from a 2 year ban to 4 years for first time offenders. This means that an athlete that is caught using
drugs at the Olympics, they will miss the next one. The laws have also been changed so that all
supporting staff/team members of the athlete are subject to these laws as well and therefore they can
receive banes as well. They also extended the consequences to anyone who tries to cover up any
doping that is occurring. These law changes were set in place to ... Show more content on

This is because in the sporting environment it is hard to get away from people using these drugs and
the athlete can start thinking that in order for them to beat these people they too would need to dope.
This can have a greater impact in team sports opposed to individual sports. This is because in an
individual sport, the athlete only has their self to let down if they don't perform well, but in a team
sport the athlete lets down the whole team it they aren't preforming at a high enough standard. Also
because if they are in a team where everyone is taking perform enhancing drugs they are unable to
get away from them and are more likely to dope as well. However drugs in team sports come with
greater risks because if one member gets caught using, whether the entire team is or not, the whole
team will get disqualified, not just that single athlete. An example of an athlete was part of a team
and used performance enhancing drugs because the rest of the team was and therefore was trapped

67. China Beijing Olympic Games And The Environmental Impact...
Introduction
As the development of the world, sustainable development is becoming more and more remarkable
among the public. Meanwhile the environmental impacts on worldwide mega sport events are
catching an increasing attention. However the environmental impacts are complex and difficult to be
assessed quantitatively, in spite of event stakeholders often insist that it is as important as social and
economic legacies (Collins, Jones, & Munday, 2009). In the recent decade, several significant mega
sports events took place which related to issues of environmental impacts, sustainability and
greening events, such as several Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup, and FIFA World Cup. Since
the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad defined the Beijing
Olympic would be "People's Olympics, Green Olympics, and High–Tech Olympics" (2002). This
essay focuses on 2008 Beijing Olympic Game, and the environmental impact that the game faced.
At the beginning of this essay, a brief historic background of Beijing Olympic will be introduces,
and a definition of environmental impact will be presented with some discussions. In the following
part, some more detailed discussion will be studied between Beijing Olympic and environmental
impact based on researches. The paper will reveal the environmental issues occurred during the

As well as providing opportunities to increase direct expenditure at a destination, they can also
contribute substantially to a destination's range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for
the destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the
construction of new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by
governments and tourism marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to
specialise in the creation and hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction
of 'mega–venues' catering for conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events.
The proliferation of events, and event–producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the
performance of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being
called upon more often to prepare comprehensive post–event evaluations with detailed accounts of
the impacts of the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and
businesses in order to be staged, post–event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to
assess the value of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to

Chinese international relations and historian Yong Deng's latest novel, China's Struggle for Status,
analyzes China's rise in power and it's future trajectory according to his research. The novel was
released during what many consider the peak of China's growth, or at least when the world was
witnessing the prosperity of their country, the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The novel strays away from
the status quo of analyzing China's rise, and rather focuses more on the reasons behind why China
would want to become the world's top super power and its motives for control, if any. The book
explores China's fixation with status, and why it appears they try so hard to attain it. Rather than
simply writing about the struggle for power China has been experiencing and overloading the reader
with statistics, Deng took a different approach. He emphasizes the major part that ideals such as
reputation and status play in the political system and how they drive governments to want to achieve
these both, in this case China. Deng explores how China has adapted its government and political
system to successfully coexist with foreign countries, particularly after the Cold War. The novel
focuses on about six areas of concern, including a chapter discussing international human rights and
how China's policy in comparison to them. It goes without saying that this is a major area of concern
for China, as they have been heavily scrutinized for it, but Deng also mentions the improvements

Place your token in the corner marked GO, then throw the dice, the number that you get is the
amount of spaces that you move. After the first player is done with their turn, the turn passes to the
person to the left of them. When you land on a property space you have the option to buy the
property, pay rent, or pay taxes. If you land on a chance or community chest space, you have to
draw a card. If you throw doubles you take your turn as you normally would and then you get
another turn, but if you throw doubles three times in a row you have to immediately go to jail. When
a player passes go they collect $200 from the bank, it doesn't matter if you roll the dice and pass it
or if you draw a chance or community chest card that tells you to pass it. You can only collect $200
once each time around the board. The only exception to collect again after you pass GO in one turn
is if you land on a community chest or a chance and it tells you to pass go again, then you collect for
both times you have passed. Monopoly is such an in depth game that there is not a time limit set for
it, which is one of the reasons that it originally got rejected by Parker Brothers. They wanted Darrow
to meet the 45–minute game rule. Parker also thought that the game should have a specific end, a

79. Olympic Games Pros And Cons
Hosting the Olympic Games is a massive risk that cities all around the world are willing to take.
While many people assume that hosting the Games is a way out a debt, it can also be just the
opposite. There are many factors that contribute to the overall success and failure of hosting the
Olympics. For one, the results differ between cities. Cities within countries that are more
economically stable seem to profit from hosting more than cities in countries that are less developed
and economically stable. Hosting the Summer versus Winter Games can also impact the end results.
In general, the Summer Olympics tend to make a more significant impact, as they are more popular
among viewers (Dick and Wang). Regardless, both the Summer and Winter Olympics
unquestionably have both positive and negative impacts on the community and the citizens of its
host city. While hosting the Olympic Games in U.S. cities has both pros and cons, in the end, the
pros drastically outweigh the cons.
Through the twenty–eight Summer Games and the twenty–three Winter Games, numerous cities
