How to manage the innovation strategy process with the support of a smart cro...Rui Patricio
The document discusses managing innovation strategy with a smart crowd community. It outlines challenges like time constraints and distributed teams that make traditional innovation strategy difficult. A proposed solution is a smart crowd strategy app that allows organizations to engage stakeholders, define objectives, and execute strategy in a structured and efficient manner. The app aims to address challenges like delivering a shared vision, managing top management, and measuring performance. It would use tools like crowdsourcing insights and feedback to help organizations continuously innovate and adapt their strategy.
The document discusses four stages of international evolution for companies: domestic, international, multinational, and global. It also examines how organizational structure should match a company's international advantages and forces for global integration versus national responsiveness. Different coordination mechanisms and cultural approaches to coordination are presented for global companies. Finally, the transnational model of organizations is defined as having dispersed yet interdependent worldwide operations coordinated through shared culture rather than formal structures.
Best Buy overtook Circuit City as the leading consumer electronics retailer through strategic decisions made by its managers. While Circuit City focused on low prices and wide selection, Best Buy located stores in high-traffic areas and stocked the latest products. As a result, Best Buy raced past Circuit City in revenue and store count. The differing fates show the importance of strategic planning and responding to changes. If the new CEO wants to help Circuit City regain its competitive edge, strategies such as improving store locations and product selection would need to be adopted.
Strategy formulation involves analyzing the external and internal environment to identify opportunities and threats, setting objectives and goals, and developing policies and plans to achieve those goals. Once the strategy is formulated, it must then be implemented, which includes establishing annual objectives, allocating resources, developing programs, and providing leadership to organizational members. Proper implementation is key to ensuring the strategy achieves the intended outcomes.

The document discusses the implementation of public policy and the factors that impact it. It notes that legislatures pass laws that are then carried out by public servants working in government agencies. This implementation process involves rule-making, rule administration, and rule adjudication. Key factors that affect implementation include the original legislative intent, the capacity of the implementing bureaucracy, interest group activity and opposition, and executive support. The document also discusses the importance of understanding networks, stakeholders, and incentives when designing solutions and policies.
This short document discusses food safety issues and proposes a plural framework for further research. It is signed by Alessandro Pirani of milanfoodlaw.org, who provides additional contact information for their organization's website and social media profiles.
The document discusses different types of "jams" which are events focused on collaboration and innovation. It mentions service jams, sustainability jams, and gov jams which are events where people collaborate on challenges related to services, sustainability, and government. The document also discusses 7 keywords related to innovation: design, game, service, research, challenge, impro, and prototype.
