What Significant Moment Has Defined Me Analysis
What significant moment has defined me? Well, I believe that there were instances that may be
significant in my life but it didn t define me or vice versa. There were also instances where it was
neither significant nor it defined me as an individual. These realizations led me to think, Are
there any instances when it was both significant and at the same time it also defined me? Yes,
indeed, there have been multiple instances/moments that formed a big picture. From a very
young age, leading a group of people wasn t exactly my best forte. I was always the one being led
instead of leading, I was always the body never the head/brains nor did I experience or feel at any
circumstance, that I am leader. I ve always had this thinking before that,... Show more content on

This defining moment of my life shaped my mindset, and planned my path into becoming who I
am today. However, it was not just those experiences that made me prove that this is who I am,
and what I ve become because of this club, what truly defined me that when a clubmate of mine
approached me and told me that she was glad that I was back and I inspired her to become fully
active in club. I never thought I will have that kind of effect to other people, being able to inspire
someone to be better and do better. Like the last sentence in the quote articulates that, The great
teacher inspires, It took me long enough and one person to realize that some of the most defining
moments in one s life are those little things that happen, however we should not think of it that
way. In my life, I have taken many journeys that challenged me as a daughter, a student, a friend,
a leader and an individual but without those I would not have experienced and opened my eyes to
the important truths surrounding me, I would not have met those whom have become an integral
part of my life, I would not have learned the power and importance of taking risks and acceptance
towards the end result of it, I would not have known my capabilities as a leader and an individual
and most important of them all, I would not be able to define myself as a unique individual without

Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the
platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and
Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight
scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray lovein this fight scene with
dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups,
for example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst
Mercutio intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to
demonstrate how much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two,
the audience can clearly see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio
is dead. For the love of family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt,
Luhrmann uses fast paced intense music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he
dislikes the Montague household, due to the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other
hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the
target audience. Zeffirelli doesn t need to use over dramatised cinematic techniques to portray the
friendship that Romeo and Mercutio share as they don t appeal to his target audience. Instead,
Zeffirelli uses the emotions of the characters and the way that

Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality
Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will
secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are
metaphysically superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral
obligation, then, is grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are
morally compelling due to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them.
Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast, grounds moralityin God s intellect. He offers two major objections to
Pufendorf: first, that he threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he
possesses, and, second, that his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is
circular since a superior has authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail
Pufendorf s position on moral entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s
criticisms will then be expounded, and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist
commitments complicating the voluntarist aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral
entities as those which are imposed onto physical beings to direct and temper the freedom of the
voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring of the universeand betterment of humanity.
Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical substances they are superadded to by
beings with intellects.

The Malnart Soldier Plot Structure
The Roman comedy and the modern sitcom have very similar plot structure as the modern sitcom
has its roots in Roman comedy. The roman comedy we watched was The Braggart Soldier by
Plautus. The sitcom I chose for my comedy assignment is Modern Family. The sitcom is based on 3
families that interact with one another in comedic ways.
The plot of the roman comedy, The Braggart Soldier, starts with the prologue during which all the
characters are introduced and two describe how they became slaves of Pyrgopolyneices and the
basic ideas of the plan to trick him into letting them leave with Pluesicles and go to Athens. Then,
all the characters except Palestrio leave the set. Next, the plan starts with a soldier,
Pyrgopolyneices, entering the stage and he boasts about the battles he won. Palestrio agrees with
Pyrgopolyneices and then lies to him about the woman in the house next door and about how she
loves Pyrgopolyneices. Palestrio tells him that his wife, Philocomasium s mother has arrived to
take her away to Athens, and that he should allow her to keep all the jewelry and the clothes that
he has given to her, when she leaves.

Geocaching Essay
Geocaching is a great way to spend an afternoon, a day or a weekend. This activity seems to take
the nation by storm and is responsible for the increasing popularity and availability of GPS and car
navigation systems on the market today. Many people do not just buy minimal systems that guide
their coordination with the beeps and echoes, but investing in complete systems that can monitor
much more useful and utilities mapping. Whether you buy a mini skeleton when it comes to

It can be argued that you can do at any time and do not really need geocaching in order to do so.
It would be incorrect, geocaching can take up hiking, biking, swimming, climbing and mountain
to find a small premium for the cache. Most of us would not solve all of these things during the
afternoon. In other words, is how to live outdoors only intensified. 3) With respect to the others.
When geocaching find all kinds of treasures clean and elegant. The idea is that if you take
something that you should leave something behind and create a log. You can learn a lot of
different people by examining the treasures they left behind and reading the log. You can enjoy
many different people from many different cultures, this appears to be a fairly common hobby in
which people of all ages and cultures spend hours in question. 4) As a part of something bigger
than ourselves. They were all out to find a special treasure, but I keep getting the clues to various
destinations along the route. Geocaching might not have millions of dollars of profit but of little

and seek the same treasure. It is a unifying experience in many ways, and can be an exciting

How Cameras Changed America
The first camera was invented by Alhazen around 1000 AD. It was called the Camera Obscura
(Pinhole Camera). Since then there have been huge advances in the camera world, with over 400
cameras have been made. Pictures are a big and influential part in people s lives. From Social
Media to books, and news, cameras have truly changed America.
The first camera, Camera Obscura use a pinhole lens to project an image of the scene upside down
onto a viewing surface. As cameras advanced the Kodak camera was created by George Eastman
and went on the market in 1888. It was simple box camera with a single shutter speed and fixed

was created in 1991 by Kodak. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did Paul Revere Influenced The American Revolution
Paul Revere
Paul Revere was a jack of all trades. He was a Silversmith, early industrialist, and a patriot In the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Sharing System
The development situation of sharing system
Sharing system ,which was a brand new concept appeard in 2015 has already become a
fashionable life style. Most people, especially those in first tier cities may have an intensive
feeling that sharing system brings too much conveniece and low cost for their daily life, such as
shared bicycles.Besides, not only shared bicycles, but some other forms has begun to arise. For
example, because of the difficuty for finding a fixed parking lot and the high cost of parking cars,an
application named Searching for Parking Spaces or in Chinese Zhao Che Wei was developed by a
science and technology compony, this APP can help people find a shareable parking spaceby
inputting one s cellphone number, driving license number and how much time they need.In

It s not just a simple economy form, but a different public service methed for the high degree of
participation and social influence. The precondition of sharing system is the disadvantages of
traditional vehicles. For example, driving is a common way people choose to travel, but as a
matter of fact, traffic jam and road accidents are become two mean reasons that people refuse to
use cars. So for these people, shared bicycles are the best choices. Secondly, the sharing economy
depends on Internet techonology which has a high speed development because all of the sharing
products, such like bicycles and umbrellas are managed uniformly by Internet. What s more, the
sharing system reflects that Chinese people, especially the young generation are more creative. Dai

Society s Role In Polynesian Culture
In Polynesian Culture, there are three aspects that play a major role in this culture. These
aspects are: Economy, Food and Arts. Economy is exploring the state of a particular country in
terms of the consumption production of goods and services and the supply of money. This also
explores what Samoa exports and imports and their main source of income. Food is the
traditional or types of meal that the local people of a particular society have often. Arts are the
traditional drawings or artworks that the people of a society have. The Polynesian society that I
have chosen is Samoa. Samoa is an independent nation and is located at about 2,500 miles

patterns or pictures are painted on with a natural brown dye taken from a tree. These pictures
typically depict abstract and realistic depictions of plant life, shells, fish, turtles, and flowers.
They like to depict natural items such as shells as in Samoa they respect everything and take

Essay on The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot...
The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3
This essay will be about how women are and have been represented in films in the past and how
they are represented nowadays. I will be looking at the roles and representations of women in
Some Like It Hot and Alien 3 .
Some Like It Hot was made in 1958. Marilyn Monroe starts in the comedy as Sugar Cane who is a
very feminine musician. Alien 3 on the other hand was made 40 years after and is a sci fi horror.
Sigourney Weaver is the star of the film and plays the character Lt. Ripley. Unlike Sugar Cane, Lt.
Ripley is a very tough and manly character.
Some Like It Hot is about two musicians. They witness a massacre and try to ... Show more content

This shows that all a woman s ambition is, is to be a wife which represents women to be very
shallow and needy. It is ironic that the man Sugar Cane describes as the one she will never fall for,
is the type of man she does fall for.
In the film, Tony Curtis plays Joe who is one of the musicians on the run. When he cross dresses,
he becomes Josephine and becomes close with Sugar. He lures her in and encourages her to
confess her dream husband. He then transforms himself into this character called Junior so he can
get her. In the end, when he confesses that he isn t Josephine or Junior, Sugar Cane doesn t get
annoyed that she was fooled by him. Instead, she runs away with him. This portrays Sugar Cane to
be a very narrow minded character that has nothing else on her mind.
There are other representations of women in Some Like It Hot . The two musicians who are on
the run have to cross dress as they have got jobs in an all female band. Tony Curtis plays
Josephine and Jack Lemmon plays Daphne. While dressed as women, the two men experience how
much women are discriminated against and used. They react to this by acting how they would
expect to women to act and experience yet even more discrimination. However, their minds don t
change in the slightest and both have Sugar Cane on their minds. They both compete to win her
heart and both try getting very close to her as women.

It s Robotic Arm Hovers
With the click of a button, a small machine buzzes to life. It s robotic arm hovers, lowers, then
promptly repositions to hold a pair of syringes over a set of petri dishes. With short, rapid bursts
the syringes release a milky white paste, forming tiny little hexagons in each dish. After only a
few minutes they grow, resembling small honeycomb shaped structures. But these are no ordinary
honeycombs they re human livers (Tomo News). These small phenomenon of biomedical
engineering are identical to tissue samples of the real thing and constructed from actual human
cells. But instead of being grown in the lab or taken from a donor, the biomedical professionals at
Organovo print them, just like they would a document. In the past two decades, 3 D printing has
grown from a niche manufacturing process to a $2.7 billion industry, responsible for the
fabrication of all sorts of things: toys, jewelry, machine parts, and even food (Griggs). But now
scientists are working to apply that same technology to the field of medicine. In labs around the
world, like the one at Organovo, scientists have begun to print prototype body parts including heart
valves, ears, artificial bone, joints, menisci, vascular tubes, and skin grafts, ( Bioprinting ). The
innovation of this technology lies in the fact that it generates actual living human cells, allowing for
the reproduction of organs and tissue that mimic the form and function of native tissues in the body
( Bioprinting ). Since its

The Outsiders By Francis Coppola
The Outsiders a film directed by Francis Coppola s is about two social groups of teenagers who
attends the same high school and live in the same town. Although both two social groups live in
the same area, they live a completely different life. A group known as the South Side Socials
(aka socs ), are the upper class teenagers, while the Greasers, are the less fortunate kids, who just
so happen to live on the wrong side of town. These two social groups have had a conflict against
one another for several years, but on one specific evening, this rivalry turns deadly as one of the
greasers, Johnny, stabs and murders a socs. Due to the passing of one of the Socs, the Socs tried
to avenge the death of their friend, while the greasers tried to get the town to comprehend that
the Socs were also at fault during that conflict. The Outsider is an exceptional film depicting
how social groups can explain our behavior, and how deviance and crime are observed in relation
to our social group. A social group is defined as a group of two or more people who interact
frequently with one another, shares a portion sense of belonging and have a sensation of
interdependence. As seen in the film, both the Socs and the greasers care deeply for each
associate of the corresponding group. Towards the end of the film, as Johnny is being hospitalized
for severe burns, Pony Boy expresses himself by stating the fact that things would be different if he
pass away. Over the years the Greasers formed

Ambition and the Downfall of Macbeth, Idi Amin, and,...
Ambition is a force that helps drive societies forward. When the power of a nation falls in the

Compensation to Donors for Organs
The sale of human organs in return for compensation is a very controversial topic. It is also
illegal in most countries; however, it is not uncommon for organs of the deceased or living to be
sold on what is known as a black market of organ trading/selling. Curdling Ireland stated Is a
global market for organ sales the answer? Can a for profit system exist, save lives, and still not
exploit the poor? (Harvard Gazette, 2008) this is a question that has been brought to the highest
judicial system in many countries to be discussed further. The courts focus on the immoral and
ethical issues with making the sale organs legal in their countries. This results in the illegal practice
of selling organs for compensation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would not only reduce the amount of deaths each year of individuals who are on the waiting
list for an organ transplant, it would also increase the amount of donors who would be willing to
under such a invasive surgery because they will be compensated for their generosity. The most
common way that a patient on the organ transplant list receives their organ is from a deceased
individual who has agreed to donating their organs before their death, or the family or spouse
has agreed to donate the organs of the deceased individual on their behalf. These facts are
convincing and has the reader pondering the thought why do donors not receive compensation?
There are many individuals who believe that there should continue to be absolutely no
compensation to individuals who are willing to donate an organ. The topic of exploiting the poor
who would justify selling one if not two organs in order to be compensated because they are
struggling financially is an argument that is discussed time and time again. This dilemma has
resulted in what is known as the black market sale of organs, donors and patients are what make
up the black market. You have a vendor who could be a surgeon, or a small company in another
country who offers the organ transplants in usually half of the

Significance of Some Historical Incidences
Significance of some historical happenings There are various significant historical incidences
that took place several years in the past which left valuable lessons with the USA citizens and
successive governments. Some of the events took place over 60 years ago but left a lasting
mark among the people that prompted efforts to ensure these events do not happen again. This
paper discusses several unfortunate incidences as well as measures that have been taken to
mitigate the issues from happening again. Halifax Explosion 1917 The Halifax explosion took
place on December 6, 1917. A French cargo ship SS Mont Blanc that was fully loaded with
wartime explosives collided with Norwegian vessel in narrows which is a strait that connects the
upper Halifax Harbor and the Bedford Basin. A few minutes later the volatile cargo went into
flames; this was followed by cataclysmic explosions which was devastating to the Richmond
district of Halifax. Close to 2,000 people died from the debris, buildings that had collapsed and
fires and an estimated 9,000 people were injured who might have been safe were it not the fact
that they came out to watch the fire. This was the largest man made exposition in history. As if
this was not enough, some survivors were washed away by water, the blast had provoked a
tsunami and the people who had been blown by the explosion were being rushed over the
shoreline by water. The events of the explosion were quite devastating for people in the area (A E

Apology On Apology Of Socrates
Saru Maharjan
Professor Nathan Poage

March 2, 2017
Apology of Socrates Socrates was a Greek philosopher and the founder of western philosophy.
Plato was the student of Socrates who was very motivated by the life and teaching of Socrates.
Plato was also one of the greatest Philosopher of ancient Greece. Apology is the actual recorded
speech of Socrates by Plato, which was delivered at the trail to defend himself. Many people did
not agree with Socrates, so they made several charges against him, which is recorded in the
Apology. Some of the accusations made against him were studying the things in the sky and below
the earth, corrupting the young, making a worse argument into a strong argument and not believing

But Socrates never charged the people for listening to him. Even though Gorgias doesn t fulfill the
need of philosophy, they were not charged. Socrates compares himself with Gorgias, Prodicus, and
Hippias and he proved that the false rumors about him were not true.
Another charge made against Socrates was corrupting the young, which Meletus claims he was
guilty of. He says I am guilt of corrupting the young, but I say that Meletus is guilty of dealing
frivolously with serious matters, of irresponsibly bringing people into court. (Cooper 28)
Meletus blamed that Socrates was guilty of corrupting a young man. He again asked logical
questions to the Meletus to defend himself. He says Meletus was not concerned about the young
man, he himself was concerned about and knows about the law. Law is the only thing that was
improving the young man. He again asked Meletus how he was corrupting the young man. He
was improving the young man, which everybody was doing. The members of the council,
audience, and members of the assembly everybody was making a good man. As per Socrates,
Meletus thinks everybody doing the same work was making good men but Socrates was corrupting
a young man by doing the same work
Socrates was also charged for not believing on the gods. I think he contradict himself in the
affidavit, as if said Socrates is guilty of not believing in gods

What It Means To Be A Political Savvy Leader
Introduction In today s ever evolving organizational settings organizations have grown in to
multifaceted labyrinth of concerns, hostilities, personal sandboxes, personalities, and sacred
cows. Techniques that were used by old titans of industry are beyond outdated and will fair very
poorly in the organizations of today. While many roads can lead to becoming a successful leader,
being politically savvy can help to smooth the path and even shorten the journey. With this paper
I aim to identify what it means to be a politically savvy leader and go into detail as to what traits
one must develop to be effective as a politically savvy leader.

scheduling, and increase in the scope of work. The special consideration should be given to
contract clauses dealing with changes/extras, disputes, soil/site conditions, and delay. The essential
steps an owner can take to minimize risks and deal with the identified causes are to allow

Character Analysis Of Grimaldi
Ina Chen The Ottoman empire has dominated the Mediterranean during the seventeenth century,
offering lucrative opportunities for Christian Europeans of low social or financial rank (Matar 489).
Within this sprawling empire, Philip Massinger constructs the cosmopolitan city of Tunis as the
stage for the confrontation between the Muslims and the Christians. The Renegado reflects on the
anti Turkish sentiments during seventeenth century England as though to undermine alluring and
domineering influence of the Turkish culture, while demonstrating the spiritual superiority of
Christianity. Massinger conjures the image of a repentant renegade in the form of the pirate
Grimaldi. Grimaldi, like the his fellow literary renegades undergoes a spiritual change in which he
converts back to Christianity, unveiling Islams failure in retaining its converts and the ChristianGod
s punishment of those who rejected Him (Matar 492). Massinger also creates the character of Vitelli
to demonstrate that even the most faithful of Christian men can waver from his path, but through
the timely counsel of the priest Francisco, he is able to resist his lust and reaffirm his faith.
Massinger uses Grimaldi to neutralize the fear of the enemy from within (Matar 490), and
demonstrate the all forgiving power of Christianity, which can save even the darkest of souls. The
renegade is the living embodiment of the Islam s superiority, and to undermine this superiority
through the reconversion to

Antonio longs to change his ways, and to no longer bully others. Antonio s looking glass self
has been truly shaped by agents of socialization. The agents of socialization are others, such as

individual hold, based on how the individual believes they are perceived (Cook Douglas, 1998).
Peer relations give a setting to understanding toward oneself and figuring out how to identify with

Many factors motivate children s behavior and the decisions they make, and a one size fits all
approach to classroom management is neither universally effective nor considered developmentally
appropriate (Jaruszewicz, 2012). Children best learn rules by seeing them practiced by the adults in
their lives. Today I believe people spend more time preaching instead of practicing themselves. One
of the more difficult behaviors I face at home with my own children is hitting and biting each other.
In my home, I, do not discipline my kids by hitting them to show them that hitting someone is never
acceptable. Since there are different parental approaches to this matter I demonstrate with my
children when they hit each other that hitting isn t nice and when other kids hit them at the school
they should respond with hitting isn t nice. When hitting is being done in the at or at home the
children tend to solve the matter by themselves by responding with hitting isn t nice. Therefore,
parents have a duty to not only teach their children the correct way to behave but also model the
correct behavior as

One does not consider the origin and history of a alcoholic drink during a celebratory event nor
does one consider the effects it has created in society when reaching the bottom of their glass.
Journalist and author, Thomas Standage in his non fiction text, A History of the World in 6
Glasses, describes the great impact of beer, wine, and spirits on civilizations. Standages purpose is
to explain how these alcholic drinks marked political, social, and intellectual revolutions that
influenced modern day society. Particularly, wine caused major social and agricultural turning
points in the Greek and Roman empires. Standage adopts a celebratory and admireful tone in order

Abstract Background and Significance: Fibromyalgia (FM) symptoms such as pain and fatigue can
have a severe impact on function and quality of life. The exact etiology of FM is unknown,
consequently there is no single best treatment. Studies have shown that exercise plays a role in
modulating adverse symptoms of FM. Aerobic exercise has clearly been shown to improve
symptoms, but strength training still needs further study. Theories have also suggested that
nutrition may be linked to FM; whether it is a cause or effect is still unknown. This study will
examine the effects of exercise training and nutrition therapy on function, fatigue, and pain in
women with FM. Subjects and Methods: Subjects will include 594 women diagnosed with FM.
There will be 4 groups: an exercise group, a nutrition therapy group, an exercise and nutrition

Physician Assisted Suicide Should Be Considered More Than...
When we think about issues that are surrounded by a lot of debate in bioethics we think about
topics such as Abortion, Stem Cell Research, Genetic Enhancement, Euthanasia and Physician

permissibility or impermissibility of each topic. Every one of these topics is complex and deserves
careful consideration when trying to determine what is right ethically and which principles in
ethics need to be considered more than others. The topic of interest in this paper is Physician

When discussing PAS, we are not advocating that anyone who no longer wants to live should have
access to the method of palliative care, instead we are saying that those wishing to request this
should meet certain criteria. The states that have already legalized PAS have set guidelines on
when someone can access these services, and according to Radbruch, In contrast to the legal
requirements in European countries, in Oregon, Washington, [Montana,] and Vermont, patients
must have a terminal physical illness in order to qualify for PAS (Radbruch). So these criteria
require the individuals seeking PAS to have a terminal illness which excludes those who might
request this based on their perceived quality of life. Physician Assisted Suicide is a hot topic and
will continue to dominate the bioethics stage for the foreseeable future. The next concept that needs
to be addressed is the slippery slope argument, Beauchamp explains that in his opinion: Judging
from the past track record of our society, we should seriously take into account that the slope of
the trail toward the unjustified taking of life will be so slippery and precipitous that we ought to
never embark on it (Gabriel). One premise of this argument is that if a system has no clear cut
guidelines, there is a lot of room for abuse of the system to occur. Another premise is that if we

Introduction Having the privilege to serve in the military has allowed this writer the opportunity
to be exposed to the pluralistic society in a way which has exposed him to the beauty of the
diversity enjoyed in American culture. One aspect of said diversity is the interaction which has
taken place amongst the Christian and various world religions who also wear the same uniform

Jewish brothers and sisters welcomed him with open arms. The local congregation of Jewish
believers went out of their way in order to ensure their newest visitor understood the flow of

beliefs of Judaism compare/contrast with the Christian faith.

  • 4. What Significant Moment Has Defined Me Analysis What significant moment has defined me? Well, I believe that there were instances that may be significant in my life but it didn t define me or vice versa. There were also instances where it was neither significant nor it defined me as an individual. These realizations led me to think, Are there any instances when it was both significant and at the same time it also defined me? Yes, indeed, there have been multiple instances/moments that formed a big picture. From a very young age, leading a group of people wasn t exactly my best forte. I was always the one being led instead of leading, I was always the body never the head/brains nor did I experience or feel at any circumstance, that I am leader. I ve always had this thinking before that,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This defining moment of my life shaped my mindset, and planned my path into becoming who I am today. However, it was not just those experiences that made me prove that this is who I am, and what I ve become because of this club, what truly defined me that when a clubmate of mine approached me and told me that she was glad that I was back and I inspired her to become fully active in club. I never thought I will have that kind of effect to other people, being able to inspire someone to be better and do better. Like the last sentence in the quote articulates that, The great teacher inspires, It took me long enough and one person to realize that some of the most defining moments in one s life are those little things that happen, however we should not think of it that way. In my life, I have taken many journeys that challenged me as a daughter, a student, a friend, a leader and an individual but without those I would not have experienced and opened my eyes to the important truths surrounding me, I would not have met those whom have become an integral part of my life, I would not have learned the power and importance of taking risks and acceptance towards the end result of it, I would not have known my capabilities as a leader and an individual and most important of them all, I would not be able to define myself as a unique individual without those ... • 5. Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray lovein this fight scene with dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups, for example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst Mercutio intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to demonstrate how much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two, the audience can clearly see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio is dead. For the love of family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt, Luhrmann uses fast paced intense music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he dislikes the Montague household, due to the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the target audience. Zeffirelli doesn t need to use over dramatised cinematic techniques to portray the friendship that Romeo and Mercutio share as they don t appeal to his target audience. Instead, Zeffirelli uses the emotions of the characters and the way that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are metaphysically superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral obligation, then, is grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are morally compelling due to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them. Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast, grounds moralityin God s intellect. He offers two major objections to Pufendorf: first, that he threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he possesses, and, second, that his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is circular since a superior has authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail Pufendorf s position on moral entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s criticisms will then be expounded, and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist commitments complicating the voluntarist aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral entities as those which are imposed onto physical beings to direct and temper the freedom of the voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring of the universeand betterment of humanity. Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical substances they are superadded to by beings with intellects. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The roman comedy we watched was The Braggart Soldier by Plautus. The sitcom I chose for my comedy assignment is Modern Family. The sitcom is based on 3 families that interact with one another in comedic ways. The plot of the roman comedy, The Braggart Soldier, starts with the prologue during which all the characters are introduced and two describe how they became slaves of Pyrgopolyneices and the basic ideas of the plan to trick him into letting them leave with Pluesicles and go to Athens. Then, all the characters except Palestrio leave the set. Next, the plan starts with a soldier, Pyrgopolyneices, entering the stage and he boasts about the battles he won. Palestrio agrees with Pyrgopolyneices and then lies to him about the woman in the house next door and about how she loves Pyrgopolyneices. Palestrio tells him that his wife, Philocomasium s mother has arrived to take her away to Athens, and that he should allow her to keep all the jewelry and the clothes that he has given to her, when she leaves. The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3 This essay will be about how women are and have been represented in films in the past and how they are represented nowadays. I will be looking at the roles and representations of women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3 . Some Like It Hot was made in 1958. Marilyn Monroe starts in the comedy as Sugar Cane who is a very feminine musician. Alien 3 on the other hand was made 40 years after and is a sci fi horror. It is ironic that the man Sugar Cane describes as the one she will never fall for, is the type of man she does fall for. In the film, Tony Curtis plays Joe who is one of the musicians on the run. When he cross dresses, he becomes Josephine and becomes close with Sugar. He lures her in and encourages her to confess her dream husband. He then transforms himself into this character called Junior so he can get her. In the end, when he confesses that he isn t Josephine or Junior, Sugar Cane doesn t get annoyed that she was fooled by him. Instead, she runs away with him. This portrays Sugar Cane to be a very narrow minded character that has nothing else on her mind. There are other representations of women in Some Like It Hot . The two musicians who are on the run have to cross dress as they have got jobs in an all female band. Tony Curtis plays Josephine and Jack Lemmon plays Daphne. While dressed as women, the two men experience how much women are discriminated against and used. They react to this by acting how they would expect to women to act and experience yet even more discrimination. However, their minds don t change in the slightest and both have Sugar Cane on their minds. They both compete to win her heart and both try getting very close to her as women. An ... The agents of socialization are others, such as peers, parents, teachers, and siblings. The looking glass self is the self concept that an individual hold, based on how the individual believes they are perceived (Cook Douglas, 1998). Many factors motivate children s behavior and the decisions they make, and a one size fits all approach to classroom management is neither universally effective nor considered developmentally appropriate (Jaruszewicz, 2012). Children best learn rules by seeing them practiced by the adults in their lives. Today I believe people spend more time preaching instead of practicing themselves. One of the more difficult behaviors I face at home with my own children is hitting and biting each other. In my home, I, do not discipline my kids by hitting them to show them that hitting someone is never acceptable. Since there are different parental approaches to this matter I demonstrate with my children when they hit each other that hitting isn t nice and when other kids hit them at the school they should respond with hitting isn t nice. When hitting is being done in the at or at home the children tend to solve the matter by themselves by responding with hitting isn t nice. Therefore, parents have a duty to not only teach their children the correct way to behave but also model the correct behavior as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A History Of The World In 6 Glasses Summary One does not consider the origin and history of a alcoholic drink during a celebratory event nor does one consider the effects it has created in society when reaching the bottom of their glass. Journalist and author, Thomas Standage in his non fiction text, A History of the World in 6 Glasses, describes the great impact of beer, wine, and spirits on civilizations. Standages purpose is to explain how these alcholic drinks marked political, social, and intellectual revolutions that influenced modern day society. Particularly, wine caused major social and agricultural turning points in the Greek and Roman empires. EFFECT OF EXERCISE TRAINING AND NUTRITION THERAPY ON FUNCTION, FATIGUE, AND PAIN IN WOMEN WITH FIBROMYALGIA Research Question: What is the effect of resistance/aerobic training and nutrition therapy on function, fatigue, and pain in women with FM? Abstract Background and Significance: Fibromyalgia (FM) symptoms such as pain and fatigue can have a severe impact on function and quality of life. The exact etiology of FM is unknown, consequently there is no single best treatment. Studies have shown that exercise plays a role in modulating adverse symptoms of FM. Aerobic exercise has clearly been shown to improve symptoms, but strength training still needs further study. Theories have also suggested that nutrition may be linked to FM; whether it is a cause or effect is still unknown. This study will examine the effects of exercise training and nutrition therapy on function, fatigue, and pain in women with FM. Subjects and Methods: Subjects will include 594 women diagnosed with FM. There will be 4 groups: an exercise group, a nutrition therapy group, an exercise and nutrition therapy group, and a control group who will receives information on FM. When we think about issues that are surrounded by a lot of debate in bioethics we think about topics such as Abortion, Stem Cell Research, Genetic Enhancement, Euthanasia and Physician Assisted Suicide. Each of these debates comes with its own ethical issues and discussion about the permissibility or impermissibility of each topic. Every one of these topics is complex and deserves careful consideration when trying to determine what is right ethically and which principles in ethics need to be considered more than others. The topic of interest in this paper is Physician Assisted Suicide and the principles that inform our discussion of PAS and how to make sense of the arguments surrounding PAS. Individuals who are found to be competent and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When discussing PAS, we are not advocating that anyone who no longer wants to live should have access to the method of palliative care, instead we are saying that those wishing to request this should meet certain criteria. The states that have already legalized PAS have set guidelines on when someone can access these services, and according to Radbruch, In contrast to the legal requirements in European countries, in Oregon, Washington, [Montana,] and Vermont, patients must have a terminal physical illness in order to qualify for PAS (Radbruch). So these criteria require the individuals seeking PAS to have a terminal illness which excludes those who might request this based on their perceived quality of life. Physician Assisted Suicide is a hot topic and will continue to dominate the bioethics stage for the foreseeable future. The next concept that needs to be addressed is the slippery slope argument, Beauchamp explains that in his opinion: Judging from the past track record of our society, we should seriously take into account that the slope of the trail toward the unjustified taking of life will be so slippery and precipitous that we ought to never embark on it (Gabriel). One premise of this argument is that if a system has no clear cut guidelines, there is a lot of room for abuse of the system to occur. It was the pleasure of the writer to attend a local synagogue in which his Jewish brothers and sisters welcomed him with open arms. The local congregation of Jewish believers went out of their way in order to ensure their newest visitor understood the flow of service and the significance of the ritual which took place on the first Shabbat or Sabbath of the month. The following essay will serve to detail the worship experience as well as how it and other beliefs of Judaism compare/contrast with the Christian faith.
