Bisphenol A in polycarbonate is not a Serious Hazard to...
Is the Bisphenol A in polycarbonate a serious hazard to human health?
Abstract: Polycarbonate, which is a polymer plastic, is found in many bottles and food packaging
around the world. However, because Bisphenol A is used in the processing of it, there is a potential
danger to humans. Bisphenol A is a molecule that is a hormone inhibitor and also mirrors the function
of estrogen. Although the EPA has released a safe level for Bisphenol A ingestion, recent research has
shown that those levels may not be safe for humans. Until further testing is done, scientists aren t
certain of the threshold of BPA intake in humans before dangerous health effects occur.

However, it is the molecule of Bisphenol A that is causing the most problems with the polycarbonate.
Bisphenol A s molecular formula is C15H16O2 and a molecular mass of 288.29.
Three million tons of this hazardous polymer is produced yearly1. At room temperature, it is a white
solid and has a phenolic odor. 2 This chemical is an endocrine disrupter, and its presence in large
quantities within the body would probably be fatal. Tests have been done on rats with exposure to BPA
which shows that it raises levels of hormones such as prolactin in both males and females as well as
lowering the level of testosterone. 3 Studies have shown that BPA is comparative to the estrogen
hormone, as supported by those test results on rats. The Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) has set the level of safe exposure to BPA at 50 μg/kg/day, but this is based
on research that was done in the
1980s. 4 More recent studies have said that intake at that level would still be seriously

Axial View Of The Trial Of Socrates
In Plato s account of the trial of Socrates he wrote, It is intimation that what has happened to me is
good, and that those of us who think death is an evil are in error (Plato 112). Socrates, a philosopher in
Athens, was tried and executed, but did not fear death. Athens, like other cities around the world, took
part in an axial transformation in which the people valued compassion and finding the truths of life.
The execution of Socrates emphasizes the regression of Athenian values. [Need another sentence
about regression] Socrates axial way of thinking caused him to be the target of a vulnerable and
intolerant Athenian government, who wrongly charged him because of their societal regression.
Thesis: Socrates axial way of thinking caused him to be the target of a vulnerable and intolerant
Athenian government who wrongly charged him because of their societal regression.
Body Paragraph 1 (Socrates beliefs):
Topic sentence: Socrates embodied axial beliefs and the intention to always ask questions and find
truth.
Evidence 1: Socrates often compared himself to a gadfly sent by the gods to question everyone. Don
Nardo wrote in his novel The Trial of Socrates that Socrates, after he received a prophecy from an
oracle, decided it was his destiny to question his fellow citizens about what they knew in life, to
criticize them where they erred, and to remind them when they were not being true to themselves
(Nardo, 27). Though many of the Athenians thought Socrates

Summary Of Pay It Forward By Catherine Hyde
Summary: Pay It Forward, written by Catherine Hyde, is about a boy named Trevor who was tasked
by his teacher create a plan that would better the world. Trevor then devised the Pay It Forward
program, a branching system of good deeds under the notion that instead of paying back a favor, a
person would instead do favors of high importance for three other people. Although his first favor
attempt with a homeless man appeared to have failed, Trevor s second favor for his teacher began a
chain of events that lead to the sparing of one s man life. Soon Trevor s idea become a national event
that promotes altruistic acts, even resulting with his first act of kindness to pay his favor forward.

American Education Reform
Throughout history, United States of America has been one of the most vigorous economies in the
world. With the most advanced military and serves as a beacon of hope and peace. It is obvious that
one would expect United States of America to be at the top of the lists when it comes to education but
unfortunately, that is not true. Day by day, our economy is becoming more and more depended on
technical notions which leaves us behind in math and science in the world. Our government spends
about 10,000 dollars every year on each student in the public education system (Lessons in
Education). The solution to our failing school system is not to spend more money, but to spend the
money wisely. Not surprisingly, students with high performing teachers develop three times better
than students with poor performing teachers. Many agree ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the United States began to reform the teacher tenure, increase the number of charter schools, and
promote better parenting and family values, our education system can be fixed. The success of
American Students lies in the hands of teachers. Since, this is such a great responsibility, we have to
make sure that we are employing the right teacher for not only the students growth but also our nation
s growth. Hard working teachers should be appreciated and celebrated and neglectful teachers should
be fired. Unfortunately, the firing of teachers is not possible. In most states, there is no legitimate
evaluation process to be met for the teaching position and after a few years, the teaching jobs becomes
permanent. The most important step in reforming tenure is to have an effective and an accurate
evaluation process. The No Child Left

Social Change And Public Policy
The study of sociology is an idea interpreted as social change and public policy. This social change is
heavily influenced in Laredo, Texas because of the demanding change in urban society. Additionally,
this change is operated by Laredo citizen s concerned with the system of charter and public schools on
how classical music has disappeared as a necessity of the learning structure for students. Not only has
classical music been completely erased from the school system, it has caused student s grades to suffer
and also to do poorly on standardized tests such as state tests or college level entry exams. Classical
music is a necessity for all life and by taking away one of the educational system s best fields of
learning, it creates a difficult social issue to handle, especially for students. Although society is always
on the verge of implementing the idea of social change, taking away a necessity is not going to create
a pathway to success. By applying classical music to everyday life as a student, it helps stimulate daily
activity in the brain, helps relate music to certain issues, and create a compassionate sense for music.
Particularly in Laredo, classical music has seen as a downfall inside and outside of the educational
settings. The pathway the city is going through, is great, a lot of change has occurred in the urban and
rural areas of town, not to mention the booming industries of small businesses. With this being
mentioned, citizens can notice that Laredo is no

Rosa Parks Impact
Rosa Parks had a tremendous impact on the United States. She stood up for what she believed in and
did everything in her power to make a difference, which was to fight not only fight for her rights, but
also the rights of the black community. Before her arrest, she was an active member of many
organizations, and worked as a seamstress in Alabama. One day, in 1955, after a long and tiring day at
work, she took the bus home and refused to move her seat for a white man, causing her to get arrested.
This moment started the Civil Rights movements through boycotts and other nonviolent protests. Rosa

She received several honorary degrees, and in 1965, Congressman John Conyers of Detroit appointed
her to his staff ( Rosa Parks UXL Biographies). Then a few years later in 1987, she was honored at the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. where she received the
Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the two top governmental honors
for civilians in the United States ( Rosa Parks Contemporary Black Biography). The Congressional
Gold Medal Of Honor, Parks said is encouragement for all of us to continue until all people have
equal rights ( Rosa Parks St. James Encyclopedia of Popular). She believed that people shouldn t stop
fighting because they aren t getting what they want, but that they should keep going until the other
person has no choice but to give in. She was always eager to help the young, and in 1987 she also
established the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development, a training school for troubled
Detroit teenagers ( Rosa Parks UXL Biographies). She would say that she hoped to inspire others,
especially young people, to be dedicated enough to make useful lives for themselves and to help
others (Shipp). In 1995, she gave a rousing speech at the Million Man March in Washington, D.C.
Parks continued her social activism throughout her life ( Rosa Parks Contemporary Black Biography).

Celebrities Acting with Humanism
In the reading Existentialism is a Humanism , the author Jean Paul Sartre presents the idea of
Existentialism. He introduces this idea by stating that man s plan in this world is not pre determined,
as we only determine who we are or who we want to become throughout life. Sartre states that a
person is what a person does. He also uses a metaphoric scenario of a man jumping on a scene before
defining himself. These two ideas imply that man has no ultimate meaning, and it is up to us to find it
through experience and by taking action. Additionally, Sartre also implies that humans have a huge
responsibility on becoming who they want to become as it is only up to them to do so, making us
entirely responsible for our existence. Sartre states that, when we say that man is responsible for
himself, we do not mean that he is responsible for his own individuality, but that he is responsible for
all men. This quote implies that men are not only responsible for their own lives but also responsible
for the development of society as we are all an example to everyone that is born after us. Everyone
that is new to this world looks up to their ancestors in order to see what they were like and to use them
as a point of guidance in order to go through life. This quote also implies that men should behave in a
way that improves this society because their actions will likely be replicated in the near future. An
example of such behavior can be the one of a mother, as she is very

Throughout reading this entire booked, I was engaged and interested, and really enjoyed the first

August 6, 1945, the United States launched an attack on Hiroshima that had never been seen before.
No military in the world knew how to defend themselves from such an attack and no civilian felt safe
from the oncoming onslaught (Oppenheimer). An atomic bomb was dropped on that day from a
United States Air Force B 29 bomber over the city of Hiroshima. The radiation falling on the city and
the leveling of the city s buildings from the blast left up to thousands of people homeless. This was
just the beginning of the use of weapons of mass destruction and on that day, the true destruction from
these weapons began. A few days later the United States were at it again, August 9, 1945, the second
atom bomb had been dropped on Nagasaki causing the same amount of devastation. People were left
with no homes or anywhere to go because of the destruction caused by the blast. Weapons of mass

Sitting Bull was born sometime between 1831 and 1837 there is not an accurate record of his birth he
was killed on the fifteenth of December 1890. Sitting Bull became the Leader of the Sioux tribe in his

since 1883. In the fall of 1890 General Nelson A. Miles caught wind of Sitting Bull taking an interest
in the Ghost Dance Religion. He wanted Sitting Bull arrested immediately so just before daylight on

These rituals usually start as the sun rises. The tribe will start heading towards the shrine. When they

tribe closer together and allows the mind to talk their god more easily. They will continue to drink this
elixir for hours until they have consumed enough to go to the shrine and start the religious ritual. The
shrine is one of the biggest structures in the tribe s community. Religion is such an important part of
the Nawois live they have placed the shrine far enough from the river to avoid flooding even though
much of their community is within the flooding zone. The shrine is shaped like a bowl. It has a state in

Reflective Essay On Football
Failing to make to the JV soccer team has been one of most impactful moments of my life, and it has
changed the way I approach athletics and life outside of sports.
For most of my life, I was skilled in organized sports, especially soccer, which I had played for many
years. After a successful soccer season my freshman year, I thought that I would make the JV team for
sure. At tryouts, I went through the motions of each drill. I breezed through the conditioning tests,
doing the bare minimum for each test. I didn t try as hard as others, as I felt that I was more skillful
than most of my peers.
On the last day of tryouts, the coaches made cuts for the teams. They called each one of us separately
to meet. The head coach started off by saying that I was a good player and that I had a lot of potential.
Then, the praise quickly dropped off.
However, you did not make the team.
That sentence slapped me right in the face. The coaches didn t think I was motivated enough to be
picked. I was so shocked, my mind blanked immediately. Getting cut from the soccer team was a
wakeup call that taught me a hard lesson: Talent alone won t guarantee success. The coaches didn t
pick me not because I failed to show my skill but because of my nonchalant attitude at tryouts. Instead
of holding their critique personally, I took their comments as motivation to change my attitude. From
that experience on, I learned that attitude play an important role in success.

Social Disorganization Theory Of Crime
Crimes are offensive acts committed by individuals or organizations that are unlawful and punishable
in accordance to a state s laws (Gehring, 2017). Acts of crime in most countries around the world
including the United States have caused more injuries, loss of property, and death as compared to a
collection of other events such as natural disasters. The social disorganization theory is a notable
example of concept that explains why different places experience different levels and cases of crime.
This essay will explore the theory s tenets, summarize an empirical test that supports it, and identify
its various strengths and weaknesses. It will also describe the assumed notions of the policy behind the
theory.
The theory was introduced by Clifford Shaw and Henry D. McKay in the year 1942. The two while
utilizing spatial maps in examining the residential location from where the cities different juveniles
resided discovered Chicago s crime rate was highly concentrated in specific regions of the town. The
rate of crime in different parts of the city remained stable for a long time despite the changes in
population over time. They realized that factors such as the race of a population did not majorly
influence crime. Shaw and McKay claimed that crime rates of different regions were a credited to
neighborhood dynamics and not the functions of individuals living in the neighborhood (Bellair,
2017). This is because from their research they noticed that the rate of crime in locations

districts with greater ratio of children living in poverty more than other districts (2). This cuts have a
great effect on many areas such as:
 State fund cuts to the utmost disadvantaged districts averaged more than three times the proportions
of the funds for localities with the bottommost average child poverty (2).
 The fraction of schoolchildren to teachers amplified more amongst the localities with greater

Sacred Heart Church
Sacred Heart Church is the second oldest church located 1307 14th Street SW in Downtown Westside
in Calgary, Canada. It is founded in 1910. There are two main complexes in this architecture, the older
complex that is constructed in 1910 and an additional edition in 1930. Throughout the years, the
Sacred Heart Church has constantly been adding additional architectural structures and expanding its
size. Both complexes in the Sacred Heart Church are rectangular in plan. They both are red brick
structure with dull green tiled roof. The roof does not cantilever over the structure hence the shadeless
entrance, sides, corridors and gardens. The newer structure is larger in size, with the longer axis
perpendicular to 14th street, whereas the second complex s longer axis is parallel to it. Even though
the two complexes are placed adjacent and perpendicularly to one another, it does not create a typical
Catholic transept plan as it is not a symmetrical cross. The short rectangular structure is offset towards
the main entrance of the church as supposed to the back end. There is approximately 8 stories tall
tower located in the longer structure, towards to the back end of the plan. It has a square base with the
top section extruding upwards to a singular point, forming a pinnacle. The main entrance is accessible
from the 14th street and is at the front façade of the larger complex. Upon entry, visitors will be lead to

For use in the home beverage system. So to strength the long term relationship Coca Cola have
purchased the 10% of the shares from the Green Mountain company and that is equal to 16.7 million
newly issued shares of the Green Mountain with total value of 1.2 Billion US$.

marketing strengths with Green Mountain s innovative technology and beverage system expertise. So
with the new partnership the Coca Cola company can reach its 2020 vision by doubling the revenue in
the year 2020 and more than that by serving 3 billion plus on every single day. It will also allow Coca

Ethical and Legal Concerns for Emergency Room Physicians...
There are unique ethical and legal obligations of the Emergency Room Physician. Commonly faced
issues include patient dumping , organ donation, and Do Not Resuscitate orders. These issues have
ethical and legal considerations for the Emergency Room Physician in regards to their responsibilities
and actions.
The ethical right for individuals to have access to health care already has a form of legal binding
within the United States as seen in the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act. In 1986,
Congress passed the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), which forbids
Medicare participating hospitals from dumping patients out of emergency departments (Pozgar, 2010,
p. 221). The act provides that:

Because of the EMTALA, therefore, much more than emergency room care is provided regardless of
ability to pay (Menzel, 2011, p. 84).
Hospitals are not only required to care for emergency patients, but they also are required to do so in a
timely fashion (Pozgar, 2010, p. 272). Hospitals are expected to notify specialty on call physicians
when their particular skills are required in the emergency department. An on call physician who fails
to respond to a request to attend a patient can be liable for injuries suffered by the patient because of
his or her failure to respond (Pozgar, 2010, p. 271). Under the doctrine of Respondeat Superior,
hospitals are also liable for the actions of physicians working or on call in their emergency
department.
The need for organ donations creates another ethical dilemma for Emergency Room Physicians.
Obtaining organs from emergency room patients has long been considered off limits in the United
States because of ethical and logistical concerns (Stein, 2010). The shortage of organs available for
transplant has caused many patients die while waiting. A pilot project from the federal government has
begun promoting an alternative that involves surgeons taking organs, within minutes, from patients
whose hearts have stopped beating but who have not been declared brain dead (Stein, 2010). The

Lastly, I was involved with drafting and editing of engineering drawings. This is needed and essential
in almost all engineering sector to communicates ideas and all needed information from the engineer

changes in components, assemblies, or documents such as processes and work instructions.
I started out with doing EO. As mentioned before, while assembling and inspecting, some mistakes
could be found and were corrected. As such, I had to do an EO for a few components. Being new, I
had the help from the staffs here, especially on the required standards on the EO. Through this, I learnt
of the importance of tolerance, projection view and the decimal places. The same applied for

As discussed numerous times throughout our class,...
As discussed numerous times throughout our class, classifying events in one lifetime as normal or
abnormal is nearly impossible. Every person has a different story and a unique life filled with entirely
different memories, events and emotions. The idea of what is normal changes with several contexts,
including time, culture, gender etc. Every generation experiences the same basic timeline, including a
few major milestones (education, moving out, marriage, having children etc.), but when a person
experiences those events depends on changes in the economic status or availability of resources
available. These changes can cause a population to be pushed to go through different stages of life

Why The Imperial System Should Be Abolished Essay
Why the Imperial System Should be Replaced
A few months back, I was in a car with my father driving down the 409, and I wondered, How many
feet are in a mile anyway? So I asked my Dad, who didn t know. This made me wonder if the imperial
system as a whole was just a waste of time. Even though a considerable amount of people think the
US should stay in the imperial system, switching to the metric system would help prevent doubt of the
people in their very own system of measurement, and devastating accidents.
The imperial system is dying, and the people may be losing faith in this dying system. The imperial
system has remained in effect in America since they broke off from the British colonies. Because of

So, the main arguing point for the imperial system s side is Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit is more specific
than Celsius by around 2 times, and has been around longer, but other than that, there really isn t any
other selling points. The imperial system can also be more useful for real world measurements, such
as inches, feet, yards, and cups. This differentiates from the metric system, dividing by tens, while the
imperial system divides by threes, fours, sixes and twelves, like 12 Inches to a foot, 3 feet to a yard,
and 4 cups to a pint. The imperial system has a large amount of units used only in very specific areas,
such as furlongs, hogsheads, drams, and long tonnes. Furlongs are only used to measure horse racing
tracks, hogsheads were used to transport tobacco, and drams used to be used to measure minuscule
amounts of fluids. In all honesty, the imperial system is an outdated tool of measurement on the brink
of collapse, and doesn t have a valid enough argument to stay as the USA s primary system of

Essay on Smoking in America
Smoking in America
In the United States today, more than forty six million Americans are addicted to cigarettes. More
people have died due to cigarette smoking than from narcotic drugs, World Wars I and II, and the
Vietnam War combined (Bailey 1). The annual death toll for cigarette smoking is more than four
hundred thousand Americans a year, and is the number one preventable cause of death in the United
States. If Americans are aware of the lethal effects of smoking, why is it still so popular? Guy Smith, a

A major issue today in tobacco advertisement is the controversy over ads targeting children and
teenagers. The two companies under the most fire for their advertisements are Marlboro and Camel.
Marlboro uses a fictional Marlboro Man, while Camel uses a high rolling and sophisticated cartoon
character, Joe Camel. Camel has been attacked by several Tobacco free organizations as a major
influence on children. Dr. Lonnia Bristow of the American Medical Association remarks, To children,
cartoon characters mean that the product is harmless, but cigarettes are not harmless. They have to
know that their ads are influencing children under ten to begin smoking, but choose not to stop
creating them (Thomas). Researchers have conducted studies that show six year olds recognize Joe
Camel as well as they recognize Mickey Mouse. Every industry denies that their advertising goal
targets people under twenty one, and they claim their goal is to simply promote brand switching and
brand loyalty (Breo). Jeff Pearlman sums up the attitude of the tobacco and advertising industries by
saying, Is the use of a cartoon character in an ad proof that you are targeting children ? If so, what
about the Pink Panther selling insulation or Snoopy promoting insurance? (Bill Clinton...). The media
and the entertainment industries have a major impact on smoking. With the help of movies and

Literary Analysis Of Hester At Her Needle
The phrase Hester At Her Needle was never used once, however, all but one appeared outside of
chapter five, which was ommitted since it appeared within the title. In chapter three, the shortened
phrase at her needle was used by an aforementioned matron to describe Hester s needlework, tying it
to her fantastical presentation of her punishment and titular scarlet letter. The following chapters Pearl
and The Governor s Hall were not included due to the overwhelming usage of Pearl since it was the
name of a main character, and Governor s Hall did not make an appearance outside of a title, making
it impossible to delve deeper into its usage. Elf child was used five times to reference Pearl, which
made up half of the eighth chapter s title, The Elf Child and the Minister , since Minister was
overwhelmingly used in lieu of Dimmesdale, making its usage ineffective to connect to other chapters
since it also appeared in chapter twenty s title. Elf child first debuted within the eighth chapter title,
followed by usage in chapters fifteen, nineteen, and twenty four, making it rather delayed and its
meaning obvious. First being used in chapter fifteen, Pearl was causing mischief and harmed a bird,
which she quickly came to regret and gave up on throwing even more pebbles at even more birds.
Once again in the wilderness, Pearl was once again described as an elf child in chapter sixteen as she
left Hester, who went deeper into the forest. In chapter nineteen, Hester

Sex Workers in Canada Essay
Sometimes, the term sex work is used, as well as prostitution . But whichever term we choose to say, it
does not eliminate the stigma attached to it. Cases such as the Bedford V. Canada Case (144) indulges
into the conspiracy of sex work and challenges certain sections of the Criminal Code that make
business in relation to prostitution illegal. Ideally, a sex worker has a career just as a teacher or lawyer.
For this reason, their human rights and dignity should be protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights

Because of their advanced use of rhetoric, we will focus on the arguments of the opponents. Ethos, a
major element of rhetoric, deals with the writer s establishment of character and authority. This is a
key aspect behind the climate change opponents arguments. They establish themselves as people who
care about both the economy and the environment. One website, ILoveCO2.org, blatantly asserts that
carbon dioxide being a pollutant is absolutely not true (Credible). By trying to bill carbon dioxide as
necessary for life and non sever pollutant, these groups attempt to borrow ethos from the green
movement that has recently become popular. They also try to appear aligned with the fiscal values of
the average person by stating the financial impact of carbon regulation. Not only do they gain ethos
from this, but they also cast a negative ethos on the climate scientists by labeling them as anti green .
A somewhat interesting move by many opponents was to align their beliefs with the republican
political party, billing anthropogenic climate change supporters as radical leftists. This polarization
caused once issues become political may put off some people. Whether this proves good or bad over
time is yet to be seen. What can be seen is the extreme effect on ethos, and the debate as a whole, that
political allegiance can have on both sides of an issue. Pathos is arguably the most valuable tool that
the climate change opponents have at their disposal.

30% (15% per test). A CASE STUDY OF SINGAPORE AIRLINES EXECUTIVE SUMMARY As a
former British Colony that gained full independence in 1965, Singapore was essentially forced to
make do with its limited resources. This developed into a national obsession with achieving excellence
without compromise and has been responsible for its many successes. This attitude of control and
determination was critical in the creation of the culture within Singapore Airlines (SIA). From the first
unveiling of its official colours in 1972, SIA s primary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reports could be inserted into the entertainment system accessed by Business Class passengers. This,
along with options for interactive video entertainment in the form of computer games, on line
shopping (as opposed to catalogue shopping for duty free items), even mechanisms for ordering meals
and beverages are not beyond the reach of present technology. Customer Satisfaction and complaints
Another area for concern is that primary data suggests that passenger dissatisfaction has tended to
originate from passengers of certain nationalities. This suggests a tendency shown by certain cultures
for external expression. This is an important consideration as studies have indicated that complaints
received are only the tip of the iceberg; a company could stand to lose up to 96% of its unhappy
customers. Consistency of in flight service quality with ground service quality Another issue of some
importance is the lack of direct control over the quality of ground services offered by SIA s suppliers
in countries, and specifically at airports, around the world. The real issue is the communication,
despite cultural differences, of the need for and the maintenance of a consistent level of service
quality. SEGMENTATION Apart from the use of technology to improve the Business Class services,
it would also be useful for the airline to consider further segmenting it s largest target market the
Economy Class Traveller. Sub Segmentation or Niching will enable the

How Did Andy Warhol Influence Pop
Andy Warhol, birth name Andrew Warhola, began his life on August 6 1928 with his Czechoslovakian
parents in Pittsburgh. Warhol 1928 1987 was an American artist who was an important member of the
visual art movement known as pop art. Throughout his career the artist also worked across a number
of disciplines including print maker, Draftsman and Filmmaker. His main movements and Styles other
than Pop Art were, Video Art and Postmodernism. After Warhol emerged from his life of hardship
with his immigrant family in Pittsburgh, he soon become a charismatic figure and ultimately found
himself in the mist of the circles of High Society.
According to The New Yorker magazine, by the 1960 s, Warhol had become one of the most
successful commercial artists in New York , and was one of the most influential artists of the second
half of the 20th century . The Pop art movement 1950 s , marked an important new stage in the
breakdown between high and low art forms, Modernist critics were horrified by the pop artists use of
such low subject matter and by their apparently uncritical treatment of it . instead it turned to themes
which touched on public life and mass society including advertisement, product packaging and comic
books to name a few. Giving the viewer something to relate to, and comprehend, this idea was then to
became an international phenomenon in the 1960 s. Warhol s earlier commercial inspired artwork is
viewed as the arena in which he first learned to manipulate popular tastes to his advantage. These
works, were illustrated with a more expressive style that included heavily applied brushstrokes
making them visible to the spectator. His drawings were often playful, decorative, and quirky, and
their tone was entirely different, he would make very minimal changes to the original source, yet he
still made a dramatic affect. They were other artist such as Roy Lichtenstein 1923 1997 that also
began using advertisements and comic strips in their paintings, it would seem they were most often
created through the use of irony. It s been documented in The art story foundation , 2017, Warhol s
biography that, Warhol was known to suffer from a nervous

Head Football Coach Essay
First and foremost, congratulations on becoming Head Football Coach at the University of Illinois at
Urbana Champaign. The implications that this had on the campus have been amazingly positive and
progressive. With this being said, here is a little bit about myself and how it has impacted me. I was
born in Akure, Nigeria on November 5, 1993. By 1995 my father was already in America trying to
find a way to bring get his wife, 2 year old newly born sons to America. By 1998 we were all on the
North Side of Chicago living in one room inside of a church and paying rent by cleaning the church.
Without having an education in America, the education they received in Nigeria meant little to
nothing, but they did what they could. My mom who previously was a teacher in Nigeria worked at
Kindercare Learning Center, Moving from the North Side to the South Suburbs in 2000, we lived with
my Uncle until my parents were able to secure their first home. By 1999 they had a one story, one car
garage, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home at 17761 Harvard Lane, Country Club Hills, Illinois. The call
for ministry was always on my parents, and in the living room they began ... Show more content on

That permission was granted by my father who always believed in the ideology and African proverb
that, It takes a village to raise a child . I was 8 years old at the time and was trying to process that fact
that my father just gave someone else permission to spank me, I actually did get that spanking from
her. She used two rulers bounded by rubber bands to strike my outwardly extended palm repeatedly,
then preceded to call my dad. I hated it then, but that kind of discipline is what has given me the
respect I ve always had towards my educators, my administrators, coaches, and elders in

Effects Of The Jim Crow Laws
The Jim Crow laws has had a major influence on the United States based on how much harm than
good it did during its time. The Jim Crow laws were in favor of white people more than black, in state
and local laws in the United States enacted between 1876 and 1965. This in turn caused more harm
than good because black people had so many restrictions on what the can do while living in the US.
The Jim Crow laws were based on segregation of public schools, public places, and public
transportation, and the segregation of restrooms, restaurants, and drinking fountains for whites and
blacks. The U.S. military was also segregated. The Jim Crow laws caused white to feel superior to
black while black thought they were inferior.
African Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These laws had a lot of impact on people sociologically because the government would not believe
them no matter what the case was. They saw all black people as inferior during this time and would
stay the same as time went on.
Segregation between white and black people during the 1890 s was a sad time for most black people
because they could not eat at the same restaurants, use the same railroads or bus stations or even
restrooms. Black people were, restricted to only using what was available to them and nothing else. As
time went on the Democratic Party played a part in the evolution of The Jim Crow laws. During the
1940 s black people was no threat to white Virginians mainly because they were disfranchised by the
new state constitution in 1902. By having this new constitution in place horrible acts such as lynchings
became a means of keeping blacks in their place. The Democratic Party during this time caused more
harm than good instead of helping black people succeed they instead try to keep them tied down.
But when the twenties and eventually the thirties came around most white southerners did not want to
adapt to the changes that were going on at the time. Under the Jim Crow laws most white people
thought at the time that they would eventually get attacked from within or even without. Which was a
huge problem to them, they wanted to keep control of blacks because they saw

Analysis Of The Poem I Am Struck By The Irony Between...
At one hundred years young, my grandmother passed away. As the matriarch of our family, we felt
both saddened and relieved to see her go. She was an independent, educated, hardworking woman
who cherished her family and friends. Stories she shared about her youth and her numerous life
experiences supported me and guided me. Much of my personal identity formed in connection to her.
My grandmother s landscape, traditions, and identity lives on through me and my family. We, as
people, construct identities to both give life meaning and to make meaning of life.
Momaday makes meaning of his life and culture through the unique textual structure of The Way to
Rainy Mountain. While reading, I almost felt as if I was reading poetry versus a novel. The inclusion
of mythology makes the reading have a poetic tone. Within this beautifully constructed piece of
literature, I am struck by the irony between Momaday s connection to his grandmother and the Kiowa
treatment of women.
In the introduction to Momaday s piece of literature, he reveals a deep connection and reverence for
his grandmother, Aho. Momaday values her life and her memories because they give his life meaning
and help him construct his personal identity. He clearly expounded how, the immense landscape of the
continental interior [of Rainy Mountain] lay like a memory in her blood...[Momaday] wanted to see in
reality what she had seen more perfectly in the mind s eye (Momaday, 1969, p. 7). At this point, he is

Integrated Project Delivery ( Ipd )
According to the Associated General Contractors of New York State, The construction industry is the
second largest employer in the US, second only to all government employees including the armed
forces. (Associated General Contractors of New York State, 2014). This is a staggering number.
However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the
1960 s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course
(Teicholz, 2013). This paper will explore how Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) can be implemented
by the construction industry to solve this issue by greatly decreasing (or even in some cases,
eliminating) low productivity and waste, time/cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of
project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their
vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and
ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design
without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget
management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these
benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will
be an issue throughout the duration of the project. The level of mutual trust and respect that is
encouraged and facilitated allows each discipline to focus on their own assigned tasks and
responsibilities while remaining confident that their colleagues will contribute just as much as they
themselves plan to do. Rather than wasting materials, money, and labor while waiting during the
painstaking process of Requests for Information (RFI) or Change Orders to be submitted and
approved, each individual discipline can

September 13, 1965, The Scariest And Most Haunted Building...
On Friday, October 13, 1965, horrifying things happened in an apartment building complex.
Apartment 23B is the scariest and most haunted building in New York. It was a dark and stormy night
in New York City. Little Avery, Madison, Max, and Aiden had a petrifying night. It caused a lot of
dreadful memories that will be penetrated in their minds forever. These kids just might find
themselves in a bad situation.
Day after day, we would pass the apartment building on our way to and from school. Branches of
vines and clusters of moss crawled up the sides of the building. I could see the paint tearing off the
walls. People for years have said the apartment building is haunted, but I don t believe it. They say
people have been possessed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aiden said with a smirk on his face. Why? You scared? They all laughed began to walk again.
When we reached the door, I took a deep breath and walked in. As the doors slammed shut behind us,
we looked around to find the paint chipping off the walls, a odor that smelled of rotting wood, and a
large staircase.
C mon guys, Madison said as she took a few steps up the staircase. She was fearless. The higher up we
got, the darker and scarier it became. The first room when we reached the top was the infamous
apartment 23B.
Aiden looked back at all of us and said, Well, let s not just stand here. Let s go!
He pushed the door open as it creaked until it slammed against the wall. I took one step in and felt out
of place. Guys, please remind me why we are doing this still?
Because we have to show my wimpy little brother that you shouldn t believe everything you hear,
Madison said blaming it on Max as if it were his fault we were here. We looked around. There was a
torn up bed in the middle of the room, along with the wallpaper that was ripping off the walls to reveal
the structure behind.
We set up all of our stuff. Max and Aiden took the corner by the broken window and fireplace, while
Madison and I took the side with the ancient pictures and next to the old, torn up bed. When we finally
got set we decided to explore around the building.
Madison and I went together and explored the basement and the main

Beowulf Positive Impact
To numerous people a hero is a person with supernatural gifts and great gallantry. It is someone that
would save lives and help make the world a better place like Superman for example. A list of these
mainstream heroes can extended a mile long, however, that is not the case in reality. Real world heroes
are seen much differently from fictional characters. People are labeled heroes based on two words:
positive impact. They are looked up to because they have helped a community or even a single person.
It can be anything from being a mentor for kids in need to going to battle for a country. The oldest
story in the English language told about a man, a hero, whose name was Beowulf. Similarly, there is a
woman, a real hero, whose name was Erin Gruwell. Although these people are from two completely
different time periods, they have both made positive impact. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

battle between the Geats and the Sweds about break out on the iced water of Lake Vanern. After
winning the battle, Beowulf becomes king of Geatland due to his heroic acts. Not long after another

Moon Landing Hoax
Moon Landing
Was the Moon landing real or a hoax? The moon landing was a major scientific breakthrough and a
great day for America. The problem is, it might ve been faked. There are many pieces of evidence
showing that it could have been faked but there is also evidence showing that the moon landing could
have also been real. I believe that the moon landing was not a hoax. The flag was blowing in the wind
but how was it supposed to stop if there is no friction on the moon? The astronauts shadows don t
match the lunar light source because there was a matte box on the camera . That there were absolutely
no stars in the sky because the pictures were taken during the day.

  • 2. Bisphenol A in polycarbonate is not a Serious Hazard to... Is the Bisphenol A in polycarbonate a serious hazard to human health? Abstract: Polycarbonate, which is a polymer plastic, is found in many bottles and food packaging around the world. However, because Bisphenol A is used in the processing of it, there is a potential danger to humans. Bisphenol A is a molecule that is a hormone inhibitor and also mirrors the function of estrogen. Although the EPA has released a safe level for Bisphenol A ingestion, recent research has shown that those levels may not be safe for humans. Until further testing is done, scientists aren t certain of the threshold of BPA intake in humans before dangerous health effects occur. Axial View Of The Trial Of Socrates In Plato s account of the trial of Socrates he wrote, It is intimation that what has happened to me is good, and that those of us who think death is an evil are in error (Plato 112). Classical music is a necessity for all life and by taking away one of the educational system s best fields of learning, it creates a difficult social issue to handle, especially for students. Although society is always on the verge of implementing the idea of social change, taking away a necessity is not going to create a pathway to success. By applying classical music to everyday life as a student, it helps stimulate daily activity in the brain, helps relate music to certain issues, and create a compassionate sense for music. Particularly in Laredo, classical music has seen as a downfall inside and outside of the educational settings. • 11. Celebrities Acting with Humanism In the reading Existentialism is a Humanism , the author Jean Paul Sartre presents the idea of Existentialism. He introduces this idea by stating that man s plan in this world is not pre determined, as we only determine who we are or who we want to become throughout life. Sartre states that a person is what a person does. He also uses a metaphoric scenario of a man jumping on a scene before defining himself. These two ideas imply that man has no ultimate meaning, and it is up to us to find it through experience and by taking action. Additionally, Sartre also implies that humans have a huge responsibility on becoming who they want to become as it is only up to them to do so, making us entirely responsible for our existence. Sartre states that, when we say that man is responsible for himself, we do not mean that he is responsible for his own individuality, but that he is responsible for all men. This quote implies that men are not only responsible for their own lives but also responsible for the development of society as we are all an example to everyone that is born after us. Everyone that is new to this world looks up to their ancestors in order to see what they were like and to use them as a point of guidance in order to go through life. This quote also implies that men should behave in a way that improves this society because their actions will likely be replicated in the near future. For most of my life, I was skilled in organized sports, especially soccer, which I had played for many years. After a successful soccer season my freshman year, I thought that I would make the JV team for sure. At tryouts, I went through the motions of each drill. I breezed through the conditioning tests, doing the bare minimum for each test. I didn t try as hard as others, as I felt that I was more skillful than most of my peers. On the last day of tryouts, the coaches made cuts for the teams. They called each one of us separately to meet. The head coach started off by saying that I was a good player and that I had a lot of potential. Then, the praise quickly dropped off. However, you did not make the team. That sentence slapped me right in the face. The coaches didn t think I was motivated enough to be picked. I was so shocked, my mind blanked immediately. Acts of crime in most countries around the world including the United States have caused more injuries, loss of property, and death as compared to a collection of other events such as natural disasters. The social disorganization theory is a notable example of concept that explains why different places experience different levels and cases of crime. This essay will explore the theory s tenets, summarize an empirical test that supports it, and identify its various strengths and weaknesses. It will also describe the assumed notions of the policy behind the theory. The theory was introduced by Clifford Shaw and Henry D. McKay in the year 1942. The two while utilizing spatial maps in examining the residential location from where the cities different juveniles resided discovered Chicago s crime rate was highly concentrated in specific regions of the town. The rate of crime in different parts of the city remained stable for a long time despite the changes in population over time. They realized that factors such as the race of a population did not majorly influence crime. His drawings were often playful, decorative, and quirky, and their tone was entirely different, he would make very minimal changes to the original source, yet he still made a dramatic affect. They were other artist such as Roy Lichtenstein 1923 1997 that also began using advertisements and comic strips in their paintings, it would seem they were most often created through the use of irony. The implications that this had on the campus have been amazingly positive and progressive. With this being said, here is a little bit about myself and how it has impacted me. I was born in Akure, Nigeria on November 5, 1993. By 1995 my father was already in America trying to find a way to bring get his wife, 2 year old newly born sons to America. By 1998 we were all on the North Side of Chicago living in one room inside of a church and paying rent by cleaning the church. Without having an education in America, the education they received in Nigeria meant little to nothing, but they did what they could. My mom who previously was a teacher in Nigeria worked at Kindercare Learning Center, Moving from the North Side to the South Suburbs in 2000, we lived with my Uncle until my parents were able to secure their first home. By 1999 they had a one story, one car garage, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home at 17761 Harvard Lane, Country Club Hills, Illinois. • 44. Effects Of The Jim Crow Laws The Jim Crow laws has had a major influence on the United States based on how much harm than good it did during its time. The Jim Crow laws were in favor of white people more than black, in state and local laws in the United States enacted between 1876 and 1965. This in turn caused more harm than good because black people had so many restrictions on what the can do while living in the US. The Jim Crow laws were based on segregation of public schools, public places, and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms, restaurants, and drinking fountains for whites and blacks. The U.S. military was also segregated. The Jim Crow laws caused white to feel superior to black while black thought they were inferior. African Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These laws had a lot of impact on people sociologically because the government would not believe them no matter what the case was. They saw all black people as inferior during this time and would stay the same as time went on. Segregation between white and black people during the 1890 s was a sad time for most black people because they could not eat at the same restaurants, use the same railroads or bus stations or even restrooms. Black people were, restricted to only using what was available to them and nothing else. As time went on the Democratic Party played a part in the evolution of The Jim Crow laws. During the 1940 s black people was no threat to white Virginians mainly because they were disfranchised by the new state constitution in 1902. By having this new constitution in place horrible acts such as lynchings became a means of keeping blacks in their place. The Democratic Party during this time caused more harm than good instead of helping black people succeed they instead try to keep them tied down. But when the twenties and eventually the thirties came around most white southerners did not want to adapt to the changes that were going on at the time. Under the Jim Crow laws most white people thought at the time that they would eventually get attacked from within or even without. Which was a huge problem to them, they wanted to keep control of blacks because they saw ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Analysis Of The Poem I Am Struck By The Irony Between... At one hundred years young, my grandmother passed away. As the matriarch of our family, we felt both saddened and relieved to see her go. She was an independent, educated, hardworking woman who cherished her family and friends. Stories she shared about her youth and her numerous life experiences supported me and guided me. Much of my personal identity formed in connection to her. My grandmother s landscape, traditions, and identity lives on through me and my family. We, as people, construct identities to both give life meaning and to make meaning of life. Momaday makes meaning of his life and culture through the unique textual structure of The Way to Rainy Mountain. While reading, I almost felt as if I was reading poetry versus a novel. The inclusion of mythology makes the reading have a poetic tone. Within this beautifully constructed piece of literature, I am struck by the irony between Momaday s connection to his grandmother and the Kiowa treatment of women. In the introduction to Momaday s piece of literature, he reveals a deep connection and reverence for his grandmother, Aho. Momaday values her life and her memories because they give his life meaning and help him construct his personal identity. He clearly expounded how, the immense landscape of the continental interior [of Rainy Mountain] lay like a memory in her blood...[Momaday] wanted to see in reality what she had seen more perfectly in the mind s eye (Momaday, 1969, p. 7). At this point, he is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Integrated Project Delivery ( Ipd ) According to the Associated General Contractors of New York State, The construction industry is the second largest employer in the US, second only to all government employees including the armed forces. (Associated General Contractors of New York State, 2014). This is a staggering number. However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the 1960 s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course (Teicholz, 2013). This paper will explore how Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) can be implemented by the construction industry to solve this issue by greatly decreasing (or even in some cases, eliminating) low productivity and waste, time/cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will be an issue throughout the duration of the project. The level of mutual trust and respect that is encouraged and facilitated allows each discipline to focus on their own assigned tasks and responsibilities while remaining confident that their colleagues will contribute just as much as they themselves plan to do. Rather than wasting materials, money, and labor while waiting during the painstaking process of Requests for Information (RFI) or Change Orders to be submitted and approved, each individual discipline can ... Apartment 23B is the scariest and most haunted building in New York. It was a dark and stormy night in New York City. Little Avery, Madison, Max, and Aiden had a petrifying night. It caused a lot of dreadful memories that will be penetrated in their minds forever. These kids just might find themselves in a bad situation. Day after day, we would pass the apartment building on our way to and from school. Branches of vines and clusters of moss crawled up the sides of the building. I could see the paint tearing off the walls. People for years have said the apartment building is haunted, but I don t believe it. They say people have been possessed ... As the doors slammed shut behind us, we looked around to find the paint chipping off the walls, a odor that smelled of rotting wood, and a large staircase. C mon guys, Madison said as she took a few steps up the staircase. She was fearless. The higher up we got, the darker and scarier it became. The first room when we reached the top was the infamous apartment 23B. Aiden looked back at all of us and said, Well, let s not just stand here. Let s go! He pushed the door open as it creaked until it slammed against the wall. I took one step in and felt out of place. Guys, please remind me why we are doing this still? Because we have to show my wimpy little brother that you shouldn t believe everything you hear, Madison said blaming it on Max as if it were his fault we were here. We looked around. There was a torn up bed in the middle of the room, along with the wallpaper that was ripping off the walls to reveal the structure behind. We set up all of our stuff. Max and Aiden took the corner by the broken window and fireplace, while Madison and I took the side with the ancient pictures and next to the old, torn up bed. When we finally got set we decided to explore around the building. Madison and I went together and explored the basement and the main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
