Special Education Requires a Lot of Education, Time and...
What if students with special needs had to sit in a classroom and try to learn like a normal student?
The success of students would not be existent without special needs teachers. Special education
teachers help students with disabilities fit in as best as they can by teaching them to do everyday
things. These tasks can include brushing their teeth, going to the bathroom, and feeding themselves.
Special educationteachers put in a lot of work to create the best lifestyle for the students that they
teach. Fourteen percent of the kids in the United States have special needs. Those fourteen percent
need teachers to help them. Special Educationrequires a lot of education, daily work, tools,
technology, and testing, but it is a very rewarding job. Special education can be a very confusing
field and varies with the location and circumstances. Very few special education teachers work
with students with severe disabilities ( Teachers Special Education 2). The majority of
employees in the special education field work with mild to moderate disabilities (2). Most special
education teachers work with students one on one in a normal classroom environment (2). There
are a few teachers that work with their students in separate rooms aside from the student s normal
classroom (3). There are very few special education teachers that work in residential places, at
home, or in a hospital (2). There are some teachers that work with a baby at home (2). A special
education teacher needs to

Pop art was a direct response to the commercial and consumer society of modern time . Explain
why this might be true.
Pop art was an art formed by artist expressing their views on modern day society. Pop art
originally emerged from England in the fifties; although it was not exploited in England, in fact
during the fifties it wasn t very well implemented. In the sixties, in New York, pop art began to
have a high prospective. Many artists soon realized that pop art could be expressed in a variety of
forms, this soon related to its commercial use. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1961 Roy Lichtenstein made use of the Ben Day dots . This was the first time an artist had used
this device. Lichtenstein exploited this and turned it into a signature for himself on his paintings of
cartoon characters.
Many Pop artists have attempted to and inspired an impersonal approach in to work trying not to
offend any community. Although in many circumstances pop artist did impose their own views in
their work, Pop artist took this opportunity to criticize society.
Quadrant 1982: The piece of art work on the left which Andy Warhol had created criticized the
way society is fixated on money. Warhol was an idealist. He had managed to survive W.W.II., he
realized the important values of life. The Quadrant symbolized how society had always been.
It shows the $ symbol in four different colors. This translated to people as different times but the
same agenda, money.
The Ben Day dots led the way for commercial use of pop art.
Lichtenstein used this to his advantage and exploited it. The Ben Day dots was an efficient use in
advertising. This device allowed unique paintings and large scale posters to be created. The more
striking pop art was created by Roy Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein manipulated the way we see day to
day objects and cartoon drawings.

his work. He often read comic magazines to be inspired for

Seamus Heaney s Mid-Term Break Essay
Midterm Break Interp Mid Term Break
Seamus Heaney s Mid Term Break is an extremely tear jerking poem. The story begins and ends in
a very depressing manner, while in between we are treated to a very vivid and blunt view of life
and how it can all come to an abrupt end. While Mid Term Breakdoes use death to grab at the
reader s heart strings, the story is most likely a description of life in Heaney s native Northern
Ireland, not Heaney s life, but a very general view of life in Northern Ireland, how it can all come
to a screeching halt at the hands of others and for no apparent reason. The warring in Northern
Ireland has cost a lot of lives and due to the staggering amount of those who have passed for their
cause, it is easy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could be interpreted that this is a representation of those leaders who lead the rebellion. Those
who send others to the front, then when one of their own goes down to attack, pull back
somewhat and deal with their loss, rather than continue to lend that same support to the cause.
Heaney s mother coughing out angry tearless sighs, (Heaney 13) speaks as a sort of anger in those
around who feel this is more of a setback to the rebellion, rather than losses that will affect families.
Lines 14 15 again shows Heaney using assonance, this time in his repetition of the short a . At ,
ambulance , arrived , stanched , and , and bandaged (Heaney 14 15) this emphasizes the stopping
short of blood and life. This death , is a very heart wrenching description of the prospect of their
cause coming to an end with every wave of casualties, not so much about death of those serving, but
death of the cause.
In the sixth stanza, Heaney tells us, the reader, that he hadn t seen his brother for six weeks,
having been away at school (Heaney 18). This could represent a sort of drift into personal loss,
perhaps a loved one lost in conflict, but most likely it is more of a vague insight to, perhaps, a
specific excursion in which several people left to encounter the opposing force and those survivors
are just now returning. Given the mood of the piece, the survivors are badly beaten and wounded,
adding to the despair felt throughout the work. The

The Cause Of Sudan s Conflict In The United States
Sudan s conflicts are rooted in the creation of the state. During Sudan s Anglo Egyptian colonial
rule, the Arabic Muslim sorth and Christian and animist south were ruled as two distinct entities.
The north was modernised but the south neglected, creating parallel entities which overlooked the
diversity and historical interrelations between the areas. A 1947 policy change to unify them meant
that when the country was granted independence in 1956, Sudan was left with a heavily unified
and centralised state, ruled from the north. The south, which already had social and political
grievances, feared it would be dominated by the Arabic and Islamist North. Promises to create a
federal system were soon broken. In 1955, tensions flared up and... Show more content on

The Presentation Of Women In Voltaire s Candide
Throughout Voltaire s Candide, women are often presented as being victims and are often
suffering because of acts of cruelty and violence. In many senses, this does not allow them to be
fully developed characters, particularly when compared to the males in the novel. From Cunegonde
to the old woman, to the told experiences of other women in the text, the reader cannot help but to
pick up on the theme of hatred towards females and it is worth questioning both why Candidemight
have chosen to present women in this manner and what this means in the context of philosophy
(especially Enlightenment philosophy as seen in Candide) which seeks to free people rather than
keep in specific roles.
Within the opening chapters we witness the characterisation of two of its few female characters:
Cunegonde and her mother s chambermaid, Paquette. The author Voltaire, seems to ... Show more

The female characters portrayed in Candide are from varying levels within the social hierarchy,
yet they are nevertheless found in similar situations. Whether that be living in poverty, and

Pope Urban X, and is said to have been raised in a palace compared to which the Baron von

through an unlikely series of events, she becomes little more than Cunegonde s servant who is
missing a butt cheak. More appalling, Paquette is forced to prostitute herself to survive, becoming
a surgeon s mistress (Voltaire, 72). Having been thrown into jail for the crimes of her previous
lover, she in turn becomes a judge s mistress, (Voltaire, 72) returning to prostitution. Voltaire

The Ethical Issues Of Darby s Whistle Blowing Decision
Question 4 1.The ethical issues outlined in this case are whether Spc. Darby s whistle blowing
decision was correct and if Spc. Sivits s claims of obedience and rule following are sufficient for
his decision to not blow the whistle. 2.The fear of repercussions of disobeying military orders
should not be an allowable excuse for not whistle blowing. From the utilitarian perspective
actions are right insofar as they promote happiness and wrong as they bring the reverse of
happiness: pain (Mill, 1910.) The repercussions of disobeying orders would be wrong because it
would bring produce the reverse of happiness via pain and privation of pleasure. However, one
also assess the situation from the view of Kant that maxims should only be acted on when they
can become a universal law (Kant, 1898.) Should everyone not act for of disobeying orders, we
can presume that other heinous crimes would go unreported. Returning to Mill we can see how
this situation would lead to more pain and privation of pleasure for all of humanity as opposed to
a single officer. Therefore, both the utilitarian and deontological perspectives prevent the fear of
repercussions from being an allowable excuse for not whistle blowing. 3.Whistleblowing should
be praised. From the utilitarian point of view, whistleblowing poses a unique challenge. In either
the action to blow the whistle or not there is some reverse happiness or pain produced. In the case
of Spc. Darby his decision to seven members of the company

against the believability of the media. Jeanne presents Richard Norris and Rodriquez s tale as
other publications had in the beginning of the article than began to present her own findings and
anecdotes based off her impressions of meeting and talking with Richard Norris. The article starts
off by recalling the event that made the story of Richard Norris possible, it turns to the start of
everything the night he shot himself leaving his facetwisted with mangled flesh beyond
recognition. Although, it was a miracle for the man to even be alive, the appearance of his own
face was just too much for Richard to handle. Eventually, Richard and his family found Eduard
Rodriquez a Baltimore reconstructive facial surgeon who performed the most extensive transplant
any surgeon had ever attempted, giving Richard a whole new face. After the procedure was
completed the account began to be retold and featured in the media. Richard Norris became a
miracle with a massive following, he became a superstar overnight. Laskas decided to reach out to
Richard and discuss the situation first hand, to see his exact thoughts on living in another man s

Business Communication Essay example
Business communication needs to become interpersonal again. No matter how we believe our
human forms came into existence, we were built to need personal contact and function best with
face to face communication. As children, we desired comfort from touch, a hug from our mothers.
As teenagers, we held hands with our boyfriend or girlfriend. As adults in the workforce, we still
need to feel that connection and comfort with our families and the people we work with. As Susan
RoAne (2008), owner of a speaking, consulting, and coaching business, discusses one way we feel
this connection is through getting to know and building trust by communicating in person. Through
this interpersonal interaction, we not only feel more comfortable around... Show more content on

For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect
with their co workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: Connecting goes
beyond words. (p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging
in eye contact, and being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person s
understanding of the message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall,
communicating face to face is more natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing
what they are saying and seeing their nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate
feedback whether or not the person understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does
not have to be formatted as it does on paper. An employee should still present themselves
professionally, but communicating face to face is a process, instead of format.
Through in person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed
connections, but relationships and trust with co workers in the business. Maslow s hierarchy of
needs is like a staircase, a person needs to satisfy the lower stairs to easily reach and fulfill the
higher staircases. If you refer to Figure 1 on page 9, social needs, feeling connections with people

Review 3.1. Core Competence Much of the research on competitive advantage focused on core
competencies as a major source of that advantage, core competencies include the particular set of
skills and resources affirm possesses as well as the way those resources are used to produce
outcomes (Fiol, 2001). The concept of core competence, as fundamental to organizational renewal
and as a driving force behind strategic change, interests both managers and scholars. It is a complex
and challenging concept: it is difficult to specify theoretically, to identify empirically as a
phenomenon, and to apply in practice. Scholars have recently recognized these problems in general
conceptual discussions (Hafsi and Thomas, 2005) and in core competence specific empirical
research (Wang et al., 2004). Competencies are commonly agreed to reside in individuals and teams
of individuals, implying that the competence concept involves a cumulative hierarchy. This
cumulative hierarchy notion is evident in many streams of research concerning the

Essay on Analysis of Rita Dove’s, “Daystar”
C Stevens 07/09/2010 Professor Kierath English 102.212 Analysis of Rita Dove s, Daystar
Daystar by Rita Dove is an expressive poem, which centers on the main character, a young
mother and wife, who internally struggles with her burdensome, daily duties, which creates a lack
of freedom in her world. Dove s choice of words lets the reader empathize with her confined life.
In this poem, irony exists for the mere fact that from birth to adulthood the female population is
brought up to feel fulfilled by simply becoming a wife and mother; however, this poem describes
the monotonous duties and the joyless bond that can be between husband and wife. As the poem
opens, Dove begins with a metaphor that entertains the idea of... Show more content on

Later that night when Thomas roller over and lurched into her, she would open her eyes and
think of the place that was hers this proves the point that she cannot even express herself
sexually because she does not feel as if she has control in the situation. Her mind wanders
elsewhere, in a place where she is her own master, instead of what is reality. Additionally, the
main character s husband shows some selfish tendencies in the fact that he may not notice his
wife s discontentment with his affection. However, this may also present the lack of
communication between man and wife and therefore may cause a sense of isolation from her
husband. The main character possesses the characteristics of most young women, a full plate of
responsibility and the lack of freedom that can wither away a person s soul. My response to this
poem is that I strongly respect the author for bringing up such a controversial issue such as
discontentment with being a stay at home mother, since this is usually to be expected of women.
Dove explains the poem delicately and leaves the underlying sense that she may have possibly
been through the situation herself. This being said, her imagery is wonderfully used and the
metaphor of the doll being slumped over is a brilliant way to reflect upon the main character s
feelings and actions. The irony comes into play, in my opinion,

Drunk Driving Du
Penalties against drunk drivers should be increased
If the current penalties for drunk driving are good enough, there should be far less alcohol related
accidents, but that is not the case. Deaths from alcohol related car accidents have dropped by a
third in the last three decades, but that is not enough considering the damage still being done.
Every day approximately 29 people in the United States die because of driving under the influence.
The most terrible part about this is when innocent people die because of the actions of another. I
believe the recurrence of DUI s are mainly caused by people who do not take the related dangers
seriously and look at the penalties as not that severe. The other reasons why people drink and
drive are based on several categories that relate to decision making. When all factors have
combined the risk of drunk driving increases. Penalties for drunk driving should be increased to
help prevent more fatalities.
There is still a large number of traffic fatalities involving alcohol and this is not acceptable. Every
two hours, three people are killed in alcohol related highway crashes. The consequences of
drinking and driving are arrests, property damage, injuries, and thousands of deaths each year
(Chambers 1). In 2010, there were about four million U.S adults reported for driving under the
influence. Alcohol related highway crashes accounted for 13,365 deaths in 2010, and to top that
off, the alcohol related accidents cost Americans an

only one who ended up not taking part in the decision of the case. The question raised was whether
or not the President of the United States has power to an executive privilege that allows him or her

the Court under unanimous decision. The role of executive privilege was decided that it is not

reason for the requirement of getting the judicial branch involved. They granted that his argued

Comparing and Contrasting God and Worship Rites
Comparing and Contrasting God, gods, and worship rites.
In Both Islam and Zoroaster the belief of one true God is highly favored amongst the two and
both acknowledge God as transparent, but they differ in their reference to God. The Zoroaster
religion refers to God as Ahura Mazda (The wise Lord) along with twenty other names. It is
understood that Ahura Mazda is an invisible and intangible creator. However, the Islamreligion
recognizes the supreme High God as Allah, who is separated and unapproachable by human beings.
In contrast to Islam and Zoroaster, the Hinduism religion contradicts this belief and practice
devotion to three major Indian gods. All three faiths worship their God or gods in different forms,
yet all three are share similarities regarding worship and sacrifices.
Hinduism was established sometime around the sixth century, but was originated by the Aryan
people during the second millennium B.C.E during the voyage to Indian. Hinduism is
recognized as the eldest, most complicated religion of the world. Nevertheless, it is the
foundation of three other philosophies such as, Jainism, Buddhism and Islam. The chief style of
worship according to Hopfe and Woodward is concluded which of the three gods one will serve
and of sacrifices such as offering of animals, dairy products, fires, and Soma plant juice as form of
worship. The most intensely and valued sacrifice is the horse. Any great king, who desires

established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as a response to the Soviet Union s

become an icon of space explorationand mankind s accomplishments. Who would have thought that
fifty years later, NASAs future would be so uncertain? Congress has recently proposed a bill that
would significantly cut funding from the NASA s Constellation program. These budget cuts are
unnecessary and are counterproductive to the original idea of the space program.

After the Americans had won the space race of the 60 s, space exploration plummeted on the
nation s agenda. To this day, the world s leaderships generally believe that humanity should be
focused on domestic affairs, instead of gazing of into the stars. In contrast, advocates of the
Constellation program believe the opposite: that NASA should return to the Moon, and eventually
to Mars.
One could argue that NASA is a waste of time, and that Congress s plans a good thing, but there are
many benefits to continuing the Constellation program. Although NASA will still continue
operation without it, the Constellation program, if continued, would result in major technological
advances that would eventually trickle down to the commercial level and benefit humanity as a
whole. So far, these NASA spinoffs include water purification methods, weather forecasting aids,
personal alarm systems, radiation hazard detectors, along with countless others ( Spinoff ). NASA s
programs also employ hundreds of engineers to design and test these technologies. Furthermore,
NASA s explorations dramatically increase our overall knowledge base, allowing us to make sense
of our surroundings. It is human nature to question and explore our environment. Furthermore,

Beowulf is an epic about a hero named Beowulf who fights and kills two monsters named Grendel
and Grendel s Mother. Beowulf travels from his home land of Sweden to Denmark, the land of
King Hrothgar and the Danes; to help King Hrothgar by killing Grendel, a monster that haunts
Herot, Hrothgar s famous mead hall, nightly, killing Hrothgar s people for 12 years. One night
Grendel sneaks into Herot, kills a Geat, and then grabs a sleeping Beowulf. While in Grendel s grip,
Beowulf uses his strength of thirty men to tear Grendel s arm from his body. Grendel runs back
to his lair and dies a painful death. Beowulf s victory is rewarded with a feast, gold, and treasures,
which Beowulf brings home and gives to his king.

The Role Of Cognition When Participating At The Communion...
This paper will critically discuss the role of cognition when participating at the communion table.
It will explore the question, does understanding at a cognitive level play a crucial role in
receiving what the sacraments are conveying? Role of Cognition. Cognition is a term referring to
how a person understands and acts on different issues. These skills are transformed into signals
that our brains can understand, everything from something very simple to something extremely
difficult. They are to do with the means of how we pay attention, listen, remember, work out,
learn, and even believe. At every age people are curious and have a desire to seek and uncover
facts. Even though all people are seeking for something today spirituality... Show more content on

The Lord Supper was established to help us remember what Christ has done for our salvation.
All who are going to partake of the Lord s supper should examine themselves first and deal with
any problems and difficulties that they have in their hearts and life. The celebration must be set
apart from the pagan festival, and each person must be conscious of what happening as they
partake. The Lord supper is an unsophisticated ceremony, where believers can meet and partake of
bread and wine, it is a sacred act of thanksgiving communion and remembrance. Furthermore, it is a
sacrament that should be received repeatedly where continuing fellowship with God and his people
can be obtained. As we participate in the Lord s supper then the past becomes the present and we
are sharing in the once and for all sacrifice of Calvary but that is not all it is also predicting the
future fulfilment of Christ returning. The significance of cognitive awareness in connection with
receiving what the sacrament is conveying can be seen in the numerous ways that Christians have
understood the rituals. Throughout history, between the different Christians denominations there
has been much dispute over the different understandings of the Lord s supper. The two statements
that have caused major problems are in Luke 22:17 22 where Christ declared to the Apostles Do
this in Remembrance of Me , and in Mark 14:26 29 where Christ states that his body is the

Creating And Executing A New Music Identification System
Introduction/Background Over the past few decades, the way in which we gather and listen to
music has changed substantially. From vinyl albums to virtual music tracks, the world of music has
evolved and will continue to grow even further in the not so distant future. By continually adapting
to the ever changing environment, Spotify has emerged to become one of the leading platforms in
today s world of online music streaming (Chandler, 2011). However, Spotify is far from perfect.
Scope The analysis will explore and evaluate the need for the information system, Spotify, to
implement and improve new as well as existing functionalities to increase the business value for the
current system. These functionalities include: Creating and executing a new music identification
system Enhancing the internal search Improving the external sharing function This analysis,
however, supported by various assumptions. It is assumed that Spotify will hire, or have in
employment, the correct staff to appropriately implement these changes to the system. This system
proposal also makes the assumption that the system will constantly be maintained and updated to
meet constantly changing user requirements. In doing so, the system will consequently be properly
installed and adopted to continually create business value. Systems Request Existing System

The Cloud Service Providers Should Address The Still Open...
C RYPTOGRAPHY T ECHNIQUES
The cloud service providers should address the still open cloud security problems in order to
encourage users to use this technology. The most important concerns are confidentiality, integrity
and availability. In a complex and non transparent system like cloud computing, it is difficult for a
user to even determine what kind of security measures are implemented in the cloud. This section
presents Cryptography, as one of the security measure that can be implemented.
Cryptography techniques are defined as methods that protect the data by changing the format of the
data, such that it can not be understood by unauthorized users. The objectives of cryptography are
[9]:
1) Confidentiality
This is the service that makes sure that the data is accessed by the owner of the data and not allow
unauthorized to access the data.
1) Resource Location
As the data is stored at an unknown location, the client is unaware of the problems when there is
a dispute and is not in the control of the cloud service provider. The data stored by the cloud
service providers is not only under the policies of the service provider but are also affected by the
countries legislation policies where the data is stored. This makes the service providers hand over
sensitive information in accordance to the countries law and its law enforcement requests. If
someone subpoena the data stored then the service provider has to hand over that data without any
consent from the owner of the data.

Comparing The Terms Of Moral Relativism And Various Cultures
In order to compare ethics in the terms of various cultures and moral relativism; one must
understand Moral Relativism and various cultures. Moral Relativism is the view that moral
judgments are true or false only relative to some particular standpoint and that no stand point is
uniquely privileged over all others. (Westacott) As an example for better understanding if a person
says you have your way, I have my way; as for the right way, it does not exist. That is moral
relativism.
We live in a world where the person next to us is not the same and the pattern of human behavior is
different. This can include language, thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs, values,
and institutions of racial, ethnic, religion, gender, gender identity/expression and sexual orientation.
These different views and culture adaptions make norms and ethical standards. (Kraft) ... Show

If people became tolerant and learned of different ethical views and culture of one another this
would require moral relativism.
This would mean that a person would not cast judgement so quickly on other cultures and there
ethical values. A person would be more accepting, if not that tolerant or understanding; though that
would be in a perfect world. Within an individual s culture there are differences and subcultures
that don t always agree on things such as polygamy, gay rights and abortion. The non agreement on
issues within a culture makes it difficult to come up with a set of norms and values that prove
which ethical value is correct.

Pedro ParГЎmo by Juan Ranulfo
Are we held back by our memories? In his novel Pedro ParГЎmo, Juan Rulfo questions the voices
that fill the town, the voices that represent old souls past memories. Rulfo s conception of our past
is that it haunts us, forcing the characters to revisit their own pasts in order to find meaning and
forgiveness. Specifically, the story explores the nature of memoryand the past by recounting the
stories of all the inhabitants who have died in the town ComГЎla. Everyone in the town is dead.
The characters are only representations of voices and murmurs, those of which live in ComГЎla.
All of these dead people, ultimately, more than enough kind souls to go around (Rulfo 45) are in
pain and are presented as if they were living in another world, a world in a strange limbo of
memory. Juan Rulfopaints a vivid description of a ghost town in the city of ComГЎla. His depiction
of the town and the imagery he uses to describe it allows the reader to imagine the town to be
similar to that of a graveyard. Deathleads Rulfo to drawing conclusions about memories. The
structure of death, the thematic forcing of diction and repetition, is evident from the beginning.
On the first page of the novel, readers are exposed to Rulfo s word choices: dying, died, and dead.
Moving forward, the town of ComГЎla looks dead, it is deserted, the air is dead and Juan Preciado,
the narrator, describes it as a dead village. Death pervades the entire novel, both in a literal and
figurative approach.

Competitive Grading Sabotages Good Teaching
I believe that competitive grading sabotages good teaching. From being a student, I know that
students do not enjoy a class where they know that their teacher is against them. When teachers
grade anything, they should point out mistakes; however, they should point out what is correct too
in order to encourage students. Teachers should not feel good about themselves when many
students fail an examination or do not do well on a paper; instead, they should realize that they
have not taught their students well. Many teacher see grades as a numbers game; for example,
they may not want to give away many As. However, if many students do work that is A material,
they may gradesome students harsher in order to keep their grade distribution consistent,

The Problem Of Food Industry
1.Addressing the Problem
Too many people pick up food products off of the shelves and put it into their shopping cart without
knowing what exactly it is or what the product has been through. After watching an absolutely
disturbing documentary called Food Inc. I started to feel strongly about the problems of the Food
Industry. The problem is that our food is no longer being produced in an all American farm, but in
dirty abusive factories. Not only is the food unhealthy for us after all of the processing, but the
workers and animals are being abused. I know that I single handily cannot change all of the
problems with the twisted food industry, but I know that I can do my part by making others aware
so that they can make sure that they can make fully informed decisions about what they are putting
into their carts at the grocery store and eventually into their bodies.
In the past fifty years, there has been such a vast change in the Industrial Food Industry. Food
went from being grown naturally to being processed and packaged for convenience and
cheapness. This is where the problem starts, and the greed for money is to blame. The industry
has been altered in order to find convenience in making product faster because we all know, time
is money. It has been altered in a manner of scamming to get all you can out of as little as
possible to of course, save money. It has all become a game of money and profit rather than right
and wrong and I have found more than enough examples to

brilliant minds, such as De Rozier, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Christiaan Huygens and

It can be said as a pool of money with a group of employees to invest that money and also give a

Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy...
Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy Goal?
There are many differing viewpoints in the United States when dealing with drug policy. Within the
political arena, drug policy is a platform that many politicians base their entire campaigns upon,
thus showing its importance to our society in general. Some of these modes within which drug
policy is studied are in terms of harm reduction, and supply reduction. When studying the harmful
effects of drugs, we must first to attempt to determine if drug abuse harms on an individual level
of if it is a major cause of many societal problems that we face today. In drawing a preliminary
conclusion to this question we are then able to outline the avenues of approach in dealing ... Show

Those that are opposed to harm reduction feel that its advocates are hypocrites that call for
tougher policies in dealing with alcohol and tobacco yet in the same breath call for reductions
in the penalties for illegal drug use. Opponents also believe that initiating a harm reduction
policy may in fact increase the use of illegal drugs as well as the people that are seeking drug
treatment. Robert J. MacCoun, is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Public policy
at the University of California and author of Toward a Psychology of Harm Reduction. Professor
MacCoun also supports the movement towards a harm reduction approach to drugs. He explains
how the harm reduction movement emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980 s in response to mounting
heath issues directly related to the use of drugs. Professor MacCoun illustrates that harm
reduction is not a program that has been proven effective in the war on drugs, being constantly
rejected as a viable option to present drug enforcement policy by the United States government.
Professor MacCoun illustrates however that the policies that the U.S. presently has in place has
failed in its ability to eliminate drug use thus causing the major harms of drug use in place.
Professor MacCoun believes that many of the drug related problems we have today are a result of
poor legislation as well as the

Technology And The Impact Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451
From the mechanical hound to the giant TV s in the wall, technology in Fahrenheit 451 has
proven to have a large impact on their society. However, interactions between Montag, his wife,
and his wife s friends emphasize the awkward interactions. Jennifer Alsip complains about her
daughter ruining dinner time. Jennifer is infuriated that her daughter s phone keeps ringing
during dinner time and she always has the need to check it immediately (Wallace). The one
technology that she bought for her daughter is creating havoc in her house. Although technology
has become more relevant in today s society with computer science innovations and social media,
the effects include people becoming socially inept. Innovations in computer systems and social
media have increased the population of the audience. For example, [the iPhone is] about 25
percent faster than the iPhone 7 and 80 percent faster than the iPhone 6S (Manjoo). The
improvements in the iPhone 8 compared to the others is significant and handheld devices are
becoming more accessible. From phones in the wall s to only having home phones, the iPhone 8
is a huge improvement in convenience. Adding on, the development in games on the phone and
the computer provides entertainment for the general public. One of the more popular games is
League of Legends, has 67 million active monthly players around the world and in August alone
this crowd spent 122 million dollars (Segal). The popularity of the games illustrates the
effectiveness of gaming on people. Instead of children going out to parks and adults going out to

and social media is entertaining for the majority of the population, it has led to people becoming
socially awkward. Melissa Ortega, a psychologist for children at the New York s Child Mind
Institute, talks about how [kids] don t know how to handle conflict face to face because so many
things happen through some sort of technology (Bindley). Learning how to socialize with workers
and people on a daily basis is a skill that one needs to learn. However, as

The Importance Of My High School Band
I play the French horn in my high school band. Our band is small only 25 30 members but we
are a family. Each class I see the determination on each person s face to do well because there s
the constant pressure of letting the rest of the band down. Because we are so small, each person
has to play to the absolute best of their abilities; each individual person needs to be a strong
player in order for our band to sound good. I ve played in larger bands on several occasions and I
was shocked to see that some kids would just... not play. Our band cannot afford that leniency.
Our size in itself is a challenge. However, I have personal struggles within the band as well. There
have only been two French horn players in my band for the entirety of my high school career:
myself and the number one horn player in the state, Cross. My whole life I have played second to
an amazing musician but while I improved by playing with him, I also never received any
recognition for my personal achievements or was ever granted the primary leadership position.
I often struggle to comprehend how good of a player I am, especially because I have performance
anxiety which hinders me during auditions and most performances. I constantly compare myself to
this amazing player who auditions well, who is regularly being recognized for musical
achievements, and who can never quite understand the concept of humility. He never understood
my struggle, so I was left adrift in an overwhelming sea of ineptitude.

From Sock Puppets to the First Ammendment to the...
Recommendations Using and managing a sockpuppet is an endeavor that necessitates vigilance,
training, and proficiency. The role of the sockpuppet is still developing across the Internet, and it is
important to recognize the historical significance of pseudonyms and anonymous speech.
Additionally, it is critical to remember the unique, primarily autonomous nature of online
communities, and the negative impact that mandated identification could have on free speech. The
value of anonymity found in the use of a sockpuppet is profoundly connected to the establishment
of the United States of America. Although John Hancock and several others signed the Declaration
of Independence and the Constitution with their real names, pseudonyms forged the journey to the
freedoms outlined in those documents. These early examples of sockpuppets disseminated
publications which united colonizers to fight for independence. The question of anonymity was not
as important as working together to fight persecution. The Silence Dogood letters, Common Sense,
The Federalist Papers, and other writings exemplify an author s purpose for anonymity. This initial
use of sockpuppets during the American Revolution carved a precedent for the importance of
anonymity and pseudonymity in the United States, and, therefore, led to the First Amendment of
the Constitution. As the world continues to struggle with the pressure to challenge authority
anonymously, sockpuppets in online communities present a new playing

Master Degree In Social Work
Working toward a Master degree in Social Work often includes translating academic learning and
theories into practice. Hence, there is a marriage between classroom content and field placement
which offers a platform to learn and practice skills simultaneously. Also, this experience can help to
build confidence while linking the importance of classroom discussion to practice.
As a result of class discussions and reading assignments I am more cognizant when conducting bio
psychosocial that the client cannot be considered in isolation from his or her physical and social
environment. I assess these areas more keenly with the intent that this information will shed light
on how the community supports or hinders the client s survival and development. Also, this
knowledge provides me with information about barriers that might hinder the intervention plan.
Although my agency doesn t focus on the family, I assess this area as well to determine family
dynamics in relation to supporting the intervention plan. Family members and other persons
involved in the clients lives often provide emotional support and resources which can assist the
client in reaching their goals.
Another concept I use to inform my work with clients is self determination which is a critical
social work value. Nevertheless, I am aware that clients often make life ... Show more content on

Nonetheless, this application can be utilized more frequent at my agency. I noticed staff takes a lot
of shortcuts and there is a disconnection between social work values and ethics. Also, staff is more
focused on directives, policies, and procedures required by the funders. This could be attributed to
employees having different degrees and or credentials. Also, administrators not being familiar with
social work values and ethical standards. Also, staff could be experiencing burnout and has become
desensitized to the clients issues and

Family Relationships In The Castle, Good Will Hunting And...
Family relationships are an important part of humanity. Many children grow up with or without a
family thus resulting the way they behave. Having a good relationship with your family is the key
to a healthy living. We need to trust one another and learn to gain respect for a happy future. This
is an important part of the process to a healthy relationship because it plays a crucial role in
instilling values and teaching responsibilities. For example if there are parents who fought a lot, the
child would be insecure towards other people. Another, point is that it helps solve
misunderstandings in the family, thus creating a stable unity.
Back to text, family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that I have read/watched:
Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has
influenced a number of authors and directors to direct to create films that relate to a certain topic
of family. This is because it focuses on the family itself, which can have an impact on the audience
who may be experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I
have studied: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not Without my Daughter.
These texts were influenced by family problems and secrets within our daily lives.
In the film, The Castle we are able to see what a good family relationship is. Daryl Kerrigan is
trying to fight to save his home, which he calls his Castle even though the house is not in good

The Basic Pistol Qualification Course
1. The basic pistol qualification course is not an accurate indication of firearms proficiency for the
experienced shooter. The basic pistol qualification course has to be repeated if members allow their
qualification to lapse. Qualifying on the basic pistol course repeatedly is a time consuming and
costly evolution. The basic pistol qualification should be removed from the firearms re qualification
standard.
2. Coast Guard policy currently requires that any pistol qualified members who have allowed
their qualification to lapse, or failed to re qualify on Practical Pistol Course (PPC), must re
qualify on the basic pistol course before attempting to qualify on the PPC course. A lapse of
qualification is identified as not qualifying on the PPC course within 365 days of previous
qualification. Failure to qualify on the Sig Saur P226DAK service pistol may be attributed to
many factors. Members can fail to qualify for a number of reasons: Lack of familiarization with the
weapon system due to limited opportunities to practice with the P226DAK is the leading factor.
Many members will only fire with this weapons system during biannual weapons qualification.
Weapon costs and rental availability at gunshops and shooting ranges in the members area make
more practice and familiarity difficult at best, and nonexistent at worst. Members may also fail to
qualify on the PPC course due to the many steps of the PPC course, and again, lack of practice in
the various steps of the

  • 2. Special Education Requires a Lot of Education, Time and... What if students with special needs had to sit in a classroom and try to learn like a normal student? The success of students would not be existent without special needs teachers. Special education teachers help students with disabilities fit in as best as they can by teaching them to do everyday things. These tasks can include brushing their teeth, going to the bathroom, and feeding themselves. Special educationteachers put in a lot of work to create the best lifestyle for the students that they teach. Fourteen percent of the kids in the United States have special needs. Those fourteen percent need teachers to help them. Special Educationrequires a lot of education, daily work, tools, technology, and testing, but it is a very rewarding job. Special education can be a very confusing field and varies with the location and circumstances. Very few special education teachers work with students with severe disabilities ( Teachers Special Education 2). The majority of employees in the special education field work with mild to moderate disabilities (2). Most special education teachers work with students one on one in a normal classroom environment (2). There are a few teachers that work with their students in separate rooms aside from the student s normal classroom (3). There are very few special education teachers that work in residential places, at home, or in a hospital (2). There are some teachers that work with a baby at home (2). Pop art was an art formed by artist expressing their views on modern day society. Pop art originally emerged from England in the fifties; although it was not exploited in England, in fact during the fifties it wasn t very well implemented. In the sixties, in New York, pop art began to have a high prospective. Many artists soon realized that pop art could be expressed in a variety of forms, this soon related to its commercial use. ... Although in many circumstances pop artist did impose their own views in their work, Pop artist took this opportunity to criticize society. Quadrant 1982: The piece of art work on the left which Andy Warhol had created criticized the way society is fixated on money. Warhol was an idealist. He had managed to survive W.W.II., he realized the important values of life. The Quadrant symbolized how society had always been. It shows the $ symbol in four different colors. This translated to people as different times but the same agenda, money. The Ben Day dots led the way for commercial use of pop art. Lichtenstein used this to his advantage and exploited it. The Ben Day dots was an efficient use in advertising. This device allowed unique paintings and large scale posters to be created. The more striking pop art was created by Roy Lichtenstein. • 4. Seamus Heaney s Mid-Term Break Essay Midterm Break Interp Mid Term Break Seamus Heaney s Mid Term Break is an extremely tear jerking poem. The story begins and ends in a very depressing manner, while in between we are treated to a very vivid and blunt view of life and how it can all come to an abrupt end. While Mid Term Breakdoes use death to grab at the reader s heart strings, the story is most likely a description of life in Heaney s native Northern Ireland, not Heaney s life, but a very general view of life in Northern Ireland, how it can all come to a screeching halt at the hands of others and for no apparent reason. The warring in Northern Ireland has cost a lot of lives and due to the staggering amount of those who have passed for their cause, it is easy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could be interpreted that this is a representation of those leaders who lead the rebellion. Those who send others to the front, then when one of their own goes down to attack, pull back somewhat and deal with their loss, rather than continue to lend that same support to the cause. Heaney s mother coughing out angry tearless sighs, (Heaney 13) speaks as a sort of anger in those around who feel this is more of a setback to the rebellion, rather than losses that will affect families. Lines 14 15 again shows Heaney using assonance, this time in his repetition of the short a . At , ambulance , arrived , stanched , and , and bandaged (Heaney 14 15) this emphasizes the stopping short of blood and life. This death , is a very heart wrenching description of the prospect of their cause coming to an end with every wave of casualties, not so much about death of those serving, but death of the cause. In the sixth stanza, Heaney tells us, the reader, that he hadn t seen his brother for six weeks, having been away at school (Heaney 18). This could represent a sort of drift into personal loss, perhaps a loved one lost in conflict, but most likely it is more of a vague insight to, perhaps, a specific excursion in which several people left to encounter the opposing force and those survivors are just now returning. Given the mood of the piece, the survivors are badly beaten and wounded, adding to the despair felt throughout the work. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Cause Of Sudan s Conflict In The United States Sudan s conflicts are rooted in the creation of the state. During Sudan s Anglo Egyptian colonial rule, the Arabic Muslim sorth and Christian and animist south were ruled as two distinct entities. The north was modernised but the south neglected, creating parallel entities which overlooked the diversity and historical interrelations between the areas. A 1947 policy change to unify them meant that when the country was granted independence in 1956, Sudan was left with a heavily unified and centralised state, ruled from the north. The south, which already had social and political grievances, feared it would be dominated by the Arabic and Islamist North. Promises to create a federal system were soon broken. In many senses, this does not allow them to be fully developed characters, particularly when compared to the males in the novel. From Cunegonde to the old woman, to the told experiences of other women in the text, the reader cannot help but to pick up on the theme of hatred towards females and it is worth questioning both why Candidemight have chosen to present women in this manner and what this means in the context of philosophy (especially Enlightenment philosophy as seen in Candide) which seeks to free people rather than keep in specific roles. • 7. The Ethical Issues Of Darby s Whistle Blowing Decision Question 4 1.The ethical issues outlined in this case are whether Spc. Darby s whistle blowing decision was correct and if Spc. Sivits s claims of obedience and rule following are sufficient for his decision to not blow the whistle. 2.The fear of repercussions of disobeying military orders should not be an allowable excuse for not whistle blowing. From the utilitarian perspective actions are right insofar as they promote happiness and wrong as they bring the reverse of happiness: pain (Mill, 1910.) The repercussions of disobeying orders would be wrong because it would bring produce the reverse of happiness via pain and privation of pleasure. However, one also assess the situation from the view of Kant that maxims should only be acted on when they can become a universal law (Kant, 1898.) Should everyone not act for of disobeying orders, we can presume that other heinous crimes would go unreported. Returning to Mill we can see how this situation would lead to more pain and privation of pleasure for all of humanity as opposed to a single officer. Therefore, both the utilitarian and deontological perspectives prevent the fear of repercussions from being an allowable excuse for not whistle blowing. 3.Whistleblowing should be praised. From the utilitarian point of view, whistleblowing poses a unique challenge. In either the action to blow the whistle or not there is some reverse happiness or pain produced. In the case of Spc. For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect with their co workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: Connecting goes beyond words. (p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging in eye contact, and being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person s understanding of the message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall, communicating face to face is more natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing what they are saying and seeing their nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate feedback whether or not the person understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does not have to be formatted as it does on paper. An employee should still present themselves professionally, but communicating face to face is a process, instead of format. Through in person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed connections, but relationships and trust with co workers in the business. Core Competence Much of the research on competitive advantage focused on core competencies as a major source of that advantage, core competencies include the particular set of skills and resources affirm possesses as well as the way those resources are used to produce outcomes (Fiol, 2001). The concept of core competence, as fundamental to organizational renewal and as a driving force behind strategic change, interests both managers and scholars. It is a complex and challenging concept: it is difficult to specify theoretically, to identify empirically as a phenomenon, and to apply in practice. Scholars have recently recognized these problems in general conceptual discussions (Hafsi and Thomas, 2005) and in core competence specific empirical research (Wang et al., 2004). Competencies are commonly agreed to reside in individuals and teams of individuals, implying that the competence concept involves a cumulative hierarchy. Essay on Analysis of Rita Dove’s, “Daystar” C Stevens 07/09/2010 Professor Kierath English 102.212 Analysis of Rita Dove s, Daystar Daystar by Rita Dove is an expressive poem, which centers on the main character, a young mother and wife, who internally struggles with her burdensome, daily duties, which creates a lack of freedom in her world. Dove s choice of words lets the reader empathize with her confined life. In this poem, irony exists for the mere fact that from birth to adulthood the female population is brought up to feel fulfilled by simply becoming a wife and mother; however, this poem describes the monotonous duties and the joyless bond that can be between husband and wife. As the poem opens, Dove begins with a metaphor that entertains the idea of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later that night when Thomas roller over and lurched into her, she would open her eyes and think of the place that was hers this proves the point that she cannot even express herself sexually because she does not feel as if she has control in the situation. Her mind wanders elsewhere, in a place where she is her own master, instead of what is reality. Additionally, the main character s husband shows some selfish tendencies in the fact that he may not notice his wife s discontentment with his affection. However, this may also present the lack of communication between man and wife and therefore may cause a sense of isolation from her husband. The main character possesses the characteristics of most young women, a full plate of responsibility and the lack of freedom that can wither away a person s soul. My response to this poem is that I strongly respect the author for bringing up such a controversial issue such as discontentment with being a stay at home mother, since this is usually to be expected of women. Dove explains the poem delicately and leaves the underlying sense that she may have possibly been through the situation herself. This being said, her imagery is wonderfully used and the metaphor of the doll being slumped over is a brilliant way to reflect upon the main character s feelings and actions. The irony comes into play, in my opinion, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Drunk Driving Du Penalties against drunk drivers should be increased If the current penalties for drunk driving are good enough, there should be far less alcohol related accidents, but that is not the case. Deaths from alcohol related car accidents have dropped by a third in the last three decades, but that is not enough considering the damage still being done. Every day approximately 29 people in the United States die because of driving under the influence. The most terrible part about this is when innocent people die because of the actions of another. I believe the recurrence of DUI s are mainly caused by people who do not take the related dangers seriously and look at the penalties as not that severe. The other reasons why people drink and drive are based on several categories that relate to decision making. When all factors have combined the risk of drunk driving increases. Penalties for drunk driving should be increased to help prevent more fatalities. There is still a large number of traffic fatalities involving alcohol and this is not acceptable. Every two hours, three people are killed in alcohol related highway crashes. The consequences of drinking and driving are arrests, property damage, injuries, and thousands of deaths each year (Chambers 1). In 2010, there were about four million U.S adults reported for driving under the influence. In Both Islam and Zoroaster the belief of one true God is highly favored amongst the two and both acknowledge God as transparent, but they differ in their reference to God. Essay on NASA Budget Cuts In July of 1958, President Eisenhower passed the National Aeronautics and Space Act, which established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as a response to the Soviet Union s launch of Sputnik nine months earlier. That administration, now known worldwide as NASA, has become an icon of space explorationand mankind s accomplishments. Who would have thought that fifty years later, NASAs future would be so uncertain? Congress has recently proposed a bill that would significantly cut funding from the NASA s Constellation program. These budget cuts are unnecessary and are counterproductive to the original idea of the space program. Congress authorized the Constellation program in 2005, assigning it multiple goals, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the Americans had won the space race of the 60 s, space exploration plummeted on the nation s agenda. To this day, the world s leaderships generally believe that humanity should be focused on domestic affairs, instead of gazing of into the stars. In contrast, advocates of the Constellation program believe the opposite: that NASA should return to the Moon, and eventually to Mars. One could argue that NASA is a waste of time, and that Congress s plans a good thing, but there are many benefits to continuing the Constellation program. Although NASA will still continue operation without it, the Constellation program, if continued, would result in major technological advances that would eventually trickle down to the commercial level and benefit humanity as a whole. So far, these NASA spinoffs include water purification methods, weather forecasting aids, personal alarm systems, radiation hazard detectors, along with countless others ( Spinoff ). NASA s programs also employ hundreds of engineers to design and test these technologies. Furthermore, NASA s explorations dramatically increase our overall knowledge base, allowing us to make sense of our surroundings. It is human nature to question and explore our environment. The Lord Supper was established to help us remember what Christ has done for our salvation. All who are going to partake of the Lord s supper should examine themselves first and deal with any problems and difficulties that they have in their hearts and life. The celebration must be set apart from the pagan festival, and each person must be conscious of what happening as they partake. The Lord supper is an unsophisticated ceremony, where believers can meet and partake of bread and wine, it is a sacred act of thanksgiving communion and remembrance. Furthermore, it is a sacrament that should be received repeatedly where continuing fellowship with God and his people can be obtained. As we participate in the Lord s supper then the past becomes the present and we are sharing in the once and for all sacrifice of Calvary but that is not all it is also predicting the future fulfilment of Christ returning. The significance of cognitive awareness in connection with receiving what the sacrament is conveying can be seen in the numerous ways that Christians have understood the rituals. Throughout history, between the different Christians denominations there has been much dispute over the different understandings of the Lord s supper. (Westacott) As an example for better understanding if a person says you have your way, I have my way; as for the right way, it does not exist. That is moral relativism. We live in a world where the person next to us is not the same and the pattern of human behavior is different. In his novel Pedro ParГЎmo, Juan Rulfo questions the voices that fill the town, the voices that represent old souls past memories. Rulfo s conception of our past is that it haunts us, forcing the characters to revisit their own pasts in order to find meaning and forgiveness. Specifically, the story explores the nature of memoryand the past by recounting the stories of all the inhabitants who have died in the town ComГЎla. Everyone in the town is dead. The characters are only representations of voices and murmurs, those of which live in ComГЎla. All of these dead people, ultimately, more than enough kind souls to go around (Rulfo 45) are in pain and are presented as if they were living in another world, a world in a strange limbo of memory. Juan Rulfopaints a vivid description of a ghost town in the city of ComГЎla. His depiction of the town and the imagery he uses to describe it allows the reader to imagine the town to be similar to that of a graveyard. Deathleads Rulfo to drawing conclusions about memories. The structure of death, the thematic forcing of diction and repetition, is evident from the beginning. On the first page of the novel, readers are exposed to Rulfo s word choices: dying, died, and dead. Moving forward, the town of ComГЎla looks dead, it is deserted, the air is dead and Juan Preciado, the narrator, describes it as a dead village. Death pervades the entire novel, both in a literal and figurative approach. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The problem is that our food is no longer being produced in an all American farm, but in dirty abusive factories. Some of these modes within which drug policy is studied are in terms of harm reduction, and supply reduction. Jennifer is infuriated that her daughter s phone keeps ringing during dinner time and she always has the need to check it immediately (Wallace). The one technology that she bought for her daughter is creating havoc in her house. Although technology has become more relevant in today s society with computer science innovations and social media, the effects include people becoming socially inept. Innovations in computer systems and social media have increased the population of the audience. For example, [the iPhone is] about 25 percent faster than the iPhone 7 and 80 percent faster than the iPhone 6S (Manjoo). The improvements in the iPhone 8 compared to the others is significant and handheld devices are becoming more accessible. From phones in the wall s to only having home phones, the iPhone 8 is a huge improvement in convenience. Adding on, the development in games on the phone and the computer provides entertainment for the general public. One of the more popular games is League of Legends, has 67 million active monthly players around the world and in August alone this crowd spent 122 million dollars (Segal). The popularity of the games illustrates the effectiveness of gaming on people. Instead of children going out to parks and adults going out to socialize, they would rather much play video games at home. This describes the various types of technological innovations affecting daily lives. Even though innovations in computer science and social media is entertaining for the majority of the population, it has led to people becoming socially awkward. Melissa Ortega, a psychologist for children at the New York s Child Mind Institute, talks about how [kids] don t know how to handle conflict face to face because so many things happen through some sort of technology (Bindley). Learning how to socialize with workers and people on a daily basis is a skill that one needs to learn. However, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Importance Of My High School Band I play the French horn in my high school band. Our band is small only 25 30 members but we are a family. Each class I see the determination on each person s face to do well because there s the constant pressure of letting the rest of the band down. Because we are so small, each person has to play to the absolute best of their abilities; each individual person needs to be a strong player in order for our band to sound good. I ve played in larger bands on several occasions and I was shocked to see that some kids would just... not play. Our band cannot afford that leniency. Our size in itself is a challenge. However, I have personal struggles within the band as well. There have only been two French horn players in my band for the entirety of my high school career: myself and the number one horn player in the state, Cross. My whole life I have played second to an amazing musician but while I improved by playing with him, I also never received any recognition for my personal achievements or was ever granted the primary leadership position. I often struggle to comprehend how good of a player I am, especially because I have performance anxiety which hinders me during auditions and most performances. I constantly compare myself to this amazing player who auditions well, who is regularly being recognized for musical achievements, and who can never quite understand the concept of humility. He never understood my struggle, so I was left adrift in an overwhelming sea of ineptitude. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. From Sock Puppets to the First Ammendment to the... Recommendations Using and managing a sockpuppet is an endeavor that necessitates vigilance, training, and proficiency. The role of the sockpuppet is still developing across the Internet, and it is important to recognize the historical significance of pseudonyms and anonymous speech. Additionally, it is critical to remember the unique, primarily autonomous nature of online communities, and the negative impact that mandated identification could have on free speech. The value of anonymity found in the use of a sockpuppet is profoundly connected to the establishment of the United States of America. Although John Hancock and several others signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with their real names, pseudonyms forged the journey to the freedoms outlined in those documents. These early examples of sockpuppets disseminated publications which united colonizers to fight for independence. The question of anonymity was not as important as working together to fight persecution. The Silence Dogood letters, Common Sense, The Federalist Papers, and other writings exemplify an author s purpose for anonymity. This initial use of sockpuppets during the American Revolution carved a precedent for the importance of anonymity and pseudonymity in the United States, and, therefore, led to the First Amendment of the Constitution. As the world continues to struggle with the pressure to challenge authority anonymously, sockpuppets in online communities present a new playing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Master Degree In Social Work Working toward a Master degree in Social Work often includes translating academic learning and theories into practice. Hence, there is a marriage between classroom content and field placement which offers a platform to learn and practice skills simultaneously. Also, this experience can help to build confidence while linking the importance of classroom discussion to practice. As a result of class discussions and reading assignments I am more cognizant when conducting bio psychosocial that the client cannot be considered in isolation from his or her physical and social environment. I assess these areas more keenly with the intent that this information will shed light on how the community supports or hinders the client s survival and development. Also, this knowledge provides me with information about barriers that might hinder the intervention plan. Although my agency doesn t focus on the family, I assess this area as well to determine family dynamics in relation to supporting the intervention plan. Family members and other persons involved in the clients lives often provide emotional support and resources which can assist the client in reaching their goals. Another concept I use to inform my work with clients is self determination which is a critical social work value. Nevertheless, I am aware that clients often make life ... • 50. Family Relationships In The Castle, Good Will Hunting And... Family relationships are an important part of humanity. Many children grow up with or without a family thus resulting the way they behave. Having a good relationship with your family is the key to a healthy living. We need to trust one another and learn to gain respect for a happy future. This is an important part of the process to a healthy relationship because it plays a crucial role in instilling values and teaching responsibilities. For example if there are parents who fought a lot, the child would be insecure towards other people. Another, point is that it helps solve misunderstandings in the family, thus creating a stable unity. Back to text, family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that I have read/watched: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has influenced a number of authors and directors to direct to create films that relate to a certain topic of family. This is because it focuses on the family itself, which can have an impact on the audience who may be experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I have studied: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not Without my Daughter. These texts were influenced by family problems and secrets within our daily lives. In the film, The Castle we are able to see what a good family relationship is. Daryl Kerrigan is trying to fight to save his home, which he calls his Castle even though the house is not in good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. The Basic Pistol Qualification Course 1. The basic pistol qualification course is not an accurate indication of firearms proficiency for the experienced shooter. The basic pistol qualification course has to be repeated if members allow their qualification to lapse. Qualifying on the basic pistol course repeatedly is a time consuming and costly evolution. The basic pistol qualification should be removed from the firearms re qualification standard. 2. Coast Guard policy currently requires that any pistol qualified members who have allowed their qualification to lapse, or failed to re qualify on Practical Pistol Course (PPC), must re qualify on the basic pistol course before attempting to qualify on the PPC course. A lapse of qualification is identified as not qualifying on the PPC course within 365 days of previous qualification. Failure to qualify on the Sig Saur P226DAK service pistol may be attributed to many factors. Members can fail to qualify for a number of reasons: Lack of familiarization with the weapon system due to limited opportunities to practice with the P226DAK is the leading factor. Many members will only fire with this weapons system during biannual weapons qualification. Weapon costs and rental availability at gunshops and shooting ranges in the members area make more practice and familiarity difficult at best, and nonexistent at worst. Members may also fail to qualify on the PPC course due to the many steps of the PPC course, and again, lack of practice in the various steps of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
