How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

2. The Contributions Of Paul On The Rise Of Christianity
Paris Hunt
Dr. Charles Ellis
HUM 1101
June 8, 2015
Chapter 4 Discussion
Explain the contributions of Paul to the rise of Christianity.
Paul of Tarsus is the most essential figure in early Christianity. His transformation to Christianity
opened doors for the religion. Paul s associations, political aptitudes, and Roman citizenship gave
opportunities other Christian pioneers needed. Paul s work made Christianity open for the masses
and expanded its range past the Holy Land (Fiero 98).
Paul was a Roman citizen and Jewish. His citizenship gave benefits and immunities shut to
numerous early Christians. Furthermore, he was knowledgeable and rich which brought political
associations that the Apostles needed. Paul was especially famous amongst Jewish leader. Initially,
Paul aggrieved Christians as blasphemers. He accepted the Christians distorted Judaism by asserting
Christ s divine nature.
At some point after Christ s crucifixion, he changed over. As indicated by tradition, Jesus went by
Paul on the road toward Damascus. In the vision, Christ asked Paul why do you persecute me? The
vision shortly blinded Paul and prompted his change. Some current researchers conjecture that Paul
of Tarsus endured a seizure which prompted pipe dreams. He in the long run recaptured his sight
and changed over.
After his transformation, Paul started his service. He isolated himself from the congregation in
Jerusalem. This is essential for two reasons. Initially, it permitted him to build

3. Gluteal Region Research Paper
The gluteal region is an anatomical area located posteriorly to the pelvic girdle, at the proximal end
of the femur. The muscles in this region move the lower limb at the hip joint. The gluteal muscle is
composed of three muscles that make up the buttocks: Gluteus Maximus, Gluteus Medius, and
Gluteus Minimus. They are supplied by the gluteal nerves and vessels, which reach them through
the greater sciatic foramen. The gluteus maximus is the largest of the gluteal muscles and one of
the strongest muscles in the human body. The gluteus medius is the second largest gluteal muscle
and gluteus minimus is the smallest. The three gluteal muscles (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius

4. The Seven Amendments
The constitution of the United States of America is the founding document on which the
government of America is built. It currently has twenty seven amendments. It lines out the specific
government practices as well as the system of check and balances. It was first drafted July, 1787
after the first form of government, the articles of confederation, had proven very inefficient to a
point where it became almost redundant to have them in place. After a large amount of debate the
acting continental congress decide to completely revise the current system. The constitution was
efficient and fair and it kept the parts of government in place while not giving too much power to
one or more branches.
After outlining that, the document begins to outline the basic civil liberties and rights that the
average citizen receives. These are called the amendments. They are the foundation on what the
freedom of America is built with. The amendments spell out the freedoms that Americans had,
everything from the right of religious freedoms to the right to bear arms both of which are regularly
debated subjects today. They made America what America was, the freest country in the world
Each of the amendments had their own set of rights to protect. The first protects Religion and the
right to practice it. The first amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of
any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging
the freedom of

As of today s society, popular culture is growing, although, in order for our community to be any

Advertisers by James Twitchell and Men s Men and Women s Women by Steve Craig, people will
realize that the main audience for advertisingand marketingis what causes the popular of the
culture to develop. In What We Are to Advertisers, the article examines that advertising is to not

With a viewpoint like that, he convinced that as they put an end to roost , it will turn into the
customers standard and they will come back to the product over and over again. Advertisement
is a way to pass on the word to the common people about specific products. If we were to take a
glance surrounding our local grocery store, we will see numerous goods that we are well known
with. In this article, advertising goes into much more complexity than just putting a product up
for sale to the public. Twitchell centers on the subgroups that advertisers use to produce and
position their ads. Each and every one of us qualifies into what is named the VALS system, which
arranges consumers by purchasing cravings. There are three principal groups, as well as eight sub
groups, all of which can be constructed into many combinations of consumer. Twitchell also uses
diagrams to describe the different kinds of buyer. The main subjects of the article were, Mass
production equals mass marketing equals creation of mass stereotypes as well as different products
have different meanings to different audiences (193). The Principle Oriented group, which is the
first group, is made up of three classes, which are Actualizers,

A Meteor will Strike the Earth and Destroy All Life Forms
With millions and millions of meteors hurtling around in our solar system, there s always a
chance that one could hit Earth at any moment. But what would be the consequences and how
would the Earth be affected if one does happen to hit? If an object from space hit the sea, a huge
tidal wave would be formed, hundreds of meters high, which would leave most of the world
under water for a period of time, destroying and killing everything in it s way. This would have a
catastrophic effect on the Earth, as most people would be killed, and leaving countries powerless,
unable to do anything. Crops would also be destroyed, starvation would kill all of the survivors,

Scientists have never proven this to be 100 % true, but it is one of the beliefs on how the dinosaurs
became extinct. Both scientists and paleontologists, feel that a meteor must of hit Earth, a few
million years ago, killing the dinosaurs. The meteor that might of wiped out the dinosaurs also
could have brought about the ice age, because of the huge dust cloud that was thrown into the air.
Also, even though this meteor strike never hit Earth, the world watched in awe as thousands of
meteors hit the planet Jupiter two years ago. For about one week, many meteors collided into
Jupiter causing huge craters on it s surface. If the meteors hit the Earth instead of Jupiter the world
might have been destroyed. Almost every American has to know of the crater in Arizona. About
49,000 years ago, a 150 foot meteor hit into the present day state of Arizona. This is the biggest
crater in the United States.
Throughout time, there have been many meteors that have hit
Earth causing great damage, but the scary thing is that there are still trillions and trillions of
meteors right outside our planet. In the Milky Way, the Earth is one of the planets with the greatest
chance of getting hit by a meteor. The Earth is only one planet away from the Asteroid Belt, which
is located between Mars and Jupiter. At any moment, a meteor could break free and head straight
towards Earth. With millions of meteors located in this belt there is

9. Animal Abuse Summary
Every day in the United States animals are beaten, neglected, and forced to struggle for survival.
They are left in horrible conditions, ones without any food and or water. Some are lucky, they
are found and rescued, being given a chance to survive by being cared for in a shelter or even
given a new home. But others, aren t so lucky. We must fight for these animals rights and punish
the heartless owners. Its up to us to speak up for these creatures who don t have a voice. The first
step, protecting them and creating effective laws. There are actually two categories: passive

for something so important to society. It is our job to be the voice for creatures who cannot speak
up for themselves. As a nation we need to make it our priority to come together and ensure the

others before themselves and acts in the most chivalrous way. The definition of a hero is

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a well known autosomal recessive disorder and the vast
majority, approximately 95%, of cases are due to a deficiency of 21 alpha hydroxylase. The other
common type of CAH is caused by a deficiency of 11 beta hydroxylase. In both types of the
disorder, the adrenal gland is unable to produce sufficient amounts of cortisoland aldosterone. CAH
is estimated to manifest in 1 of every 15,000 live births. In the United States, the prevalence of the
disorder is lower in African American children in comparison to Caucasians. Moreover, the
decreased synthesis of cortisol results in diminished negative feedback of adrenocorticotropic

process for developing the substrate product development effort. This process, DACE, used the
computer simulations to easily predict the stresses and warp of the sample with varying factor
levels. The main advantage here is instead of making eight different samples, the whole work was
finishing with a computer, and it saves a lot of time and money.

So, the team uses only 25 2 fractional factorial designs through computer simulations.
However, the team uses finite element analysis software along with DOE to predict two
responses from each run such as the stress and the deformation. In the case study, we observe the
images that show the stress and deformation due to a temperature change. The high stress and
deformation areas are shown by the red color. The low stress and deformation areas are indicated
by the dark blue color. At last the deformation of a single layer was imported into MATLAB (a
matrix computing environment) to calculate the radius of curvature or warp.
The immediate step in this sequential experimentation was enhancing the factorial experiment with
a center point and star points i.e. a central composite design (CCD), fully explores the extremes
of the factor levels. It goes beyond the +1/ 1 levels to get a better understanding of the effects the
factors on the results. The CCD consisted of a center point and six star points. The star points
represent the +/ 2 alpha levels of the factors. Here the dots are connected to one another through
the center; the resulting shape is a star. There are six dots because there are two extreme cases for
each important factor. This analysis helps to provide a better understanding of the effects on results

13. Vampirism In Dracula
The novel Dracula by Bram Stoker is revered by many as one of the most well known 19th
century Gothic horror because of its use of psychological and supernatural horror, which add on to
the already complex premise of the story. Along with this, Stoker s descriptions of his locations are
vivid, which help the readers in envisioning the ambience and intensity of the scenes, reinforcing
the horror aspect of the novel. Interestingly, the characters have been the subject to numerous
scholarly studies, from literature to psychology, because of their complexity, particularly Mina
Murray. As such, this adaptation intends to focus on those aspects of the novel with video game as
the medium to focus on the elements of Gothic horror and how they are... Show more content on

from the 19th century in the eyes of 21st century audience. Whilst British imperialism is no longer
a threat nowadays, the advancement of technology still persists, especially with the creation of
weapons of mass destruction. Moreover, this adaptation also serves as a social commentary on the
19th century ideologies, especially to gender and race. By having a diverse cast, it reflects the
current population world and the characters as representatives of these people. This adaptation also
references other adaptations of the novel, which parallels the presence of intertextuality from the
text. In doing so, this adaptation becomes the verisimilitude of the novel itself from bringing life to

Twenty four mother infant dyads completed all aspects of the study. Of those 24, 18 were
Caucasian, 22 were married, eight of them had an annual family income of $50,000 to $74,999,
and seven had an annual family income of over $100,000. Also 16 of the participating mothers had
a graduate degree. Not only is the sample size very small, but the demographics of the mothers is
greatly disproportionate. With the majority of mothers being caucasian, educated, middle class,
married women, the sample size does not accurately represent the majority of the population who
lives in relative poverty and cannot afford to seek help. About half of the mothers had a history of
depression and were taking or had just started taking antidepressant medication when they first
enrolled. Considering the size of the sample, all the mothers should have been either prescription
drug users, or not, but not both. Prescription drug treatment for any depression significantly
changes perceptions of mood, skewing the results, and there is not enough women in the study to
make a concise prognosis.
To assess the mothers postpartum psychiatric difficulties the Postpartum Depression Screening
Scale (PDSS; Beck Gable, 2000) was used. Prior to treatment, mothers completed a self report

How To Choose The Best Hurricane Shutters For Your Home When you live in an area where
hurricanes are possible, it s a good idea to prepare for one in advance, especially when it comes
to protecting your windows. You don t want to be frantically trying to find plywood and cut it
into window coverings at the last minute. Hurricane shutters are worth the investment since you
can have them already installed and ready to go as soon as you need them. There are a few
choices when it comes to hurricane shutters. Here are some tips for how to choose the best ones
for your home. Shutters That Are Controlled Remotely Many hurricane shutters have to be
installed or rolled down manually. However, you can also buy shutters that operate with a
remote or wall switch. These also have a battery backup so you can operate them even when the
power is out. You can also turn your tablet or smartphone into a remote control and close the
shutters if you re away from home. If you have a vacation home in hurricane country, these
shutters would be ideal. They are also a good choice if you want to open and close them from
inside your house so you can peek outside and avoid going outside in the rain to unlock the shutters.

In this class we have learned about mass incarceration and the criminalization of black and brown
bodies throughout U.S. history. An early example of the criminalization of brown bodies can be
seen in Los Angeles when the Spanish Crown came and deemed Native Americans as lawless and
ungovernable. Then, later in time, we see the criminalization of black bodies in the South during
the Reconstruction Era. Laws and ideology that are motivated by colonialism and settler
colonialism, have helped put more black and brown bodies in prison and exploit them for labor

race as well as a racialized global hierarchy and a system of punishment that criminalizes difference

different and did not follow or assimilate to European culture. Incarcerating these two populations,

18. The Basics On Corrective Eye Surgery
The basics on corrective eye surgery
Before contact lenses finally became popular in the 50 s, eyeglasses had been the only practical
way to correct refraction vision errors. Now however, there are several modern ways when it
comes to correcting vision problems including corrective eye surgery. Corrective eye surgery
ranges from laser reshaping of the eye surface known as LASIK and PRK to a surgically inserted
artificial lens that corrects the eyesight. Within LASIK and other such similar procedures, laser
energy reshapes the curvature of the eye s clear front surface known as the cornea and alters the
way that light rays will enter your eye. This isn t too different from artificial lenses, which once
surgically inserted into the eye, can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those with lower prescription strengths pre surgery experienced fewer and less frequent side
effects. Radial Keratotomy is now almost non existent for these specific reasons as well as the
advances in technology when it comes to laser vision correction.
Photorefractive Keratectomy was the name of the very first successful laser vision correction
procedure that was used to remove the tissue directly from the surface of the eye. This was
carried out in order to change the curvature of the cornea itself. This procedure was also known
as surface ablation and was actually performed outside of the U.S during the 1980 s receiving
FDA approval around 1995. Photorefractive Keratectomy is still commonly used today however
LASIK is far more popular although Photorefractive Keratectomy has made a comeback of sorts
in recent years due to studies showing that it produces very similar results to LASIK. On top of
this, research has shown that nerve regeneration within the eye s surface takes place faster with
Photorefractive Keratectomy than with LASIK which could help reduce dry eye symptoms along
with other such complications associated with laser eye surgery. There s also no risk of surgical
flab complications due to it being a surface procedure. Photorefractive Keratectomy also appeals to
those with a thinner cornea as LASIK was once considered off limits for patients with thinner
corneal flaps. Recent technologies have given eye surgeons much better methods

20. My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Love Analysis
True Love
(A Discussion on Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover.)
Robert Browning wrote many amazing dramatic monologues during his time in the 1800 s. The
English poet Robert Browning (1812 1889) is best known for his dramatic monologues. By
vividly portraying a central character against a social background, these poems probed complex
human motives in a variety of historical periods (Gale). Browning was super influential with his
monologues during the Victorian period and even still today. Several of Browning s work are
about love. Two of his most notable love monologues was My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover.
Browning s two monologues My Last Duchess and Porphyria s lover share several similarities, but
also differ severely.
In Browning s readings My last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover share several similarities. Both the
men in these monologues kill the women they are supposed to love. The main part of these
monologues is the men killing their wives. Both kill their wives because they are both jealous men,
who want complete control over the woman. They feel as if the women should be their property,
and only theirs. Another Similarity of these monologues is they are wrote in the man s point of
view, and not the women. Both poems show a similarity because they are both narrated from the
male lover s point of view. As a result, the reader becomes more closely involved in the poems and
can feel very strong emotions for the individuals

A funeral is meant to give meaning to the life of a deceased individual. It acts as an opportunity for
loved ones to convene and remember the deceased while simultaneously providing one another with
comfort and support. Planning funerals is nothing short of an emotional process, one which
involves many legal and financial matters. By planning ahead of time with prepaid funeralplans,
you can plan the service exactly how you want it and pay for the entire service ahead of time,
saving your friends and family from the burden.
Prepaid funeral plans are appealing for a multitude of reasons. The first is that they are paid for in
advance, which means that families are not burdened with the cost or any decisions pertaining to
cost during their time of grief. Even if the services are not paid for entirely, money can be set aside
for funeral plans through a payable on death account which is opened in the name of the
beneficiary for your estate. This type of bank account is not subject to probate and will go directly
to the beneficiary upon death, enabling them to pay for the plans you have made. ... Show more

23. Analysis Of Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
Edmond Rostand s Cyrano de Bergerac is considered to be a Chivalric Romance but it also
contains humor throughout. The play uses comedy throughout all of the acts for a variety of
reasons. Cyrano who is the main character of the play is also the largest comic influence. With
Cyrano, we see him develop through comedyand learn more about his character with it, and it is
not only used by Cyrano but also many other characters. Comedy is used in a variety of ways
throughout Cyrano de Bergeracsuch as wordplay and sarcasm. The comedy is all used for different
reasons, nevertheless, the humor in Cyrano plays an important role in the play.
During the play Cyrano de Bergerac there are often very deep and depressing moments and to
pick the audience up Edmund Rostand used humor. This is seen in all of the acts throughout the
play and is one of the main uses of humor in the play. This is not the only use of humor in this
play it is also used by Cyrano to hide his insecurities. Throughout the play, Cyrano makes fun of
his own nose to make it seem like he is comfortable with it and so others can not make fun of it.
Humor definitely plays an important role in Cyrano de Bergerac and through this essay, I will be

identity and desire of home through interwoven stories. The novel discusses Othello s past and
present situation upon his arrival in Venice. The theme of acceptance is prominent throughout the
novel. Othello s character deteriorates as he struggles with his identity and the notion of home.
Othello is a general in the service of Venice. He is examined in the Shakespeare play as
courageous, noble qualities, trustworthy. It is obvious to feel a degree of sympathy for Othello
because he is considered an other . He is a man that is willing to accept that he is racially different,
as he seems to recognize his status. I tend to sympathize with Othello because he easily influenced,

25. The Values Of National Security And National Security
I believe that in order to protect national security , individuals must sacrifice some personal
freedom. Nowadays you cannot trust anyone, so you have to always be aware of your
surroundings. They restrict their activities, limit their travel, and often distrust their neighbors,
thereby weakening community bonds and support (Payne, p.59). People want to feel that they
are secured and will do anything to get that satisfaction. We all have to make some sacrifices,
everyone has different beliefs and if we were to all act on our beliefs, then we would most likely
all be dead, because we might not agree with what the person next to use is saying. When we
book a flight and go through TSA, we are all giving up a bit of our personal freedom. The TSA
agents get to monitor our bags and our whole bodies are scanned to make sure we are not
concealing anything dangerous (Payne, p.59). If TSA did not have to check everyone, then
people would be able to get weapons into a plane and cause another major attack like 9/11. When
you are in the military you see combat. You may have been on missions that exposed you to
horrible and life threatening experiences. These types of events can lead to PTSD (Class notes,
Lecture 2). The soldiers that are protecting and defending national securities, give up their whole
freedom when on duty and even when they come back home. After they have served their time,
their freedom is is still gone, some feel like they are trapped. Most experience PTSD, which

The Handmaid s Tale, a film based on Margaret Atwood s book depicts a dystopia, where
pollution and radiation have rendered innumerable women sterile, and the birthrates of North

plummeting birth rates are blamed on its women. The United States, now renamed the Republic
of Gilead, retains power the use of piousness, purges, and violence. A Puritan theocracy, the
Republic of Gilead, with its religious trappings and rigid class, gender, and racial castes is built

characters who would not seem out of place in today s society. They plant flowers in the yard,

IB Chemistry 12
Pressure/Volume of Air Full Lab Write Up
Introduction:
According to Boyle s Law, the volume of any given amount of gas held at a constant temperature
varies inversely with the applied pressure. In other words, when the pressure increases the volume
decreases. When pressure decreases, volume increases. This can be derived from the following
equation:
P1 V1=P2 V2
The common use of this equation is to predict how a change in pressure or volume will alter the
volume/pressure of the gas. Thus, the product of the initial volume and pressure is equal to the
product of pressure and volume after a change in either pressure or volume under constant
temperature.

Fashion Marketing is a way to contribute to the field of the fashion industry s process to success. I
have always seen fashion marketing and communications as an opportunity, appreciation and

merchandising, product development and production, trend forecasting, public relations, visual
merchandising and marketing and leadership related positions. A large part of all these jobs is
having an understanding for what consumers enjoy, love and want to spend their money on. For
example, label and logo design can read into what consumers feels a brand represents and may
entail. In fast fashion, (having worked with Forever 21 for over a year myself) it has given me an
insight for how a large scale fast fashionbusinesses run one store of their many locations around

Beowulfs predictable narrative and basic language make the story very easy to comprehend, while

The theme coming of age is included in both compositions. Throughout Grendel, Grendel
struggles to come to terms with who he is and frequently straddles the border between adulthood
and childhood. For example, after getting stuck in a tree, Grendel cries out for his mother and
then moments later contemplates the meaning of life: The king snatched an ax from the man
beside him and, without any warning, he hurled it at me... I bellowed for my mother...I tried to
tell her that happened, all that I d come to understand: the meaningless objectiveness of the
world... (Gardner 27 28). This bouncing back and forth between a child s mindset and an adult s
shows Grendel s gradual coming of age. Beowulf s main character, Beowulf, is forced to endure
many quests that challenge him not only physically, but mentally forcing him to come of age as
well. Beowulf has to question many of the things he thought he knew, resulting in him growing
wiser, much like Grendel. For example, during his fight with Grendel, Beowulf first says he does
not want the help of his Thanes, but when Grendel starts to beat him, his Thanes are forced to step
in (Beowulf Lines 80 100). This teaches Beowulf that he needs to accept help in the end and does
not always have to accomplish things on his own, something he uses to his advantage in later
battles. Altogether, both Grendel and Beowulf

37. Symptoms And Treatment Of Psychiatric Illnesses
Introduction
Psychiatric illnesses affected heavily almost every country of the world. Billions of dollars are put
to research on psychiatric disorders every year. Although from time to time new methods of
treatment are followed by researchers. However the results and the efficiency of treatment are
almost bleak. In brain sciences the problems which we start with before hundred years are almost
as such and with psychiatry it becomes more compounded. We are not yet able to control the
psychiatric problems even with 21st century advances in the medical science. From time to time the
scientists use multiple approaches in understanding the puzzles in relation to the brain and its
functions. Though we make a small progress towards understanding or close to understanding such
puzzles. However close analysis shows that we are still far away from understanding some basic
rules which the brain used throughout its functions. There must lies a void in our understanding of
the brain and its functioning. Though brain is highly complex organ it also works through complex
processes and mechanisms. There is the exigent need to help understand the mysteries of the brain
science and its functioning. There is a need to help solve brain mysteries through multiple
perspectives.

based on some principles of classical or Newtonian physics. Such classical principles have been

38. Major Differences Between A Command Economy And A Market...
1.1 Market Economies
There are many major differences between a command economy and a market economy. To start
out with, a command economy is planned, where the government decides the main economic
decisions. Next, a market economy is when individuals are free to make their own decisions as
they buy and sell products. So between both economies, the command economy is planned and the
market economy is free. In conclusion a command economy and a market economy, are two
completely different things.
I believe that the Private Enterprise is the most important. To begin with, individuals have rights to
own their own business. However, the individuals might have their freedom but they also have to
follow the laws. It, also let s the business owners produce goods with limited government decisions
or directions. In conclusion, Private Enterprise let s individuals work, how they would like, while
maintaining the laws.
There are many reasons to why the market economy has been adopted in many countries that
formerly had a command economy. One reason is that the market economy has the freedom to pick
what type of business they would like to run. With a command economy the government chooses
what type of business they get. So, the market economy has more freedom to run their business the
way they like, while following the laws. In conclusion the countries that formerly had a command
economy didn t have as much freedom as the market economy does.
There are many changes I would find,

39. The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant
In Guy de Maupassant s The Necklace, readers experience Mathilde Loisel s life changing event.
Coming from nobility, de Maupassant tells the story of luxurious desire through the eyes of the
middle class woman Mathilde. Mathilde constantly dreams of living the life of the upper class,
and this prohibits her from acting in reality. Mathilde s internal struggle for a sense of social
royalty shows readers how quickly selfish pride destroys a person s life. Throughout the course of
The Necklace, Mathilde changes from an arrogant and prideful housewife to a modest and humble
companion. At the beginning of the story, Mathilde is portrayed as a bitter woman who thinks she
is entitled to a more luxurious life. While eating dinner, Mathilde thinks to herself: She had no
dresses, no jewels, nothing. And she loved nothing but that; she felt made for that. She would so
have liked to please, to be envied, to be charming, to be sought after (68). In this instance, Mathilde
cannot focus on what she is currently involved in because she is so obsessed with living a higher
life. The reader infers that the consumables of the upper class is consuming her thoughts. One
evening, after sulking to herself, as usual, her husband comes home with an invitation to a party
which she reacts to questionably: Instead of being delighted, as her husband hoped, she threw the
invitation on the table with disdain, murmuring: What do you want me to do with that (69)? As the

side effect of cancer. But, in fact, depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side
effect of dying (3). Hazel Grace Lancaster is a 16 year old teen with stage 4 thyroid cancer and
mets in her lungs. She has managed to live due to an experimental drug called Phalanxifor. Hazels
days are filled with going to the doctor, watching ANTM(Americas Next Top Model) and reading
An Imperial Affliction over and over, til she quotes the book on a daily basis. But, all those weary
days change when she meets the charming Augustus Waters at a cancer support group. Now Hazel s
life takes an unexpected detour on the path to self discovery. Throughout the book The Fault In

woman.
In the book, Hazel has shown much of her witty personality. In one of the first pages of the book,
Hazel introduces her humoristic personality when she goes to the Cancer Support Group with this
thought. Like, I realize that this is irrational, but when they tell you, you have say, a 20 percent

In order to deliver a successful speech, there are countless qualities that must be present to reach
both the emotional and logical sense within a crowd. Through the use of rhetorical strategies
and by remaining credible, a speaker or an author can connect with their audience; getting them
involved with their writing. In May of 2011, a man by the name of Denzel Washington used
multiple rhetorical strategies to deliver a graduation speech at the University of Pennsylvania.
While revealing all of the difficult times that he had gone through while in college and
discovering what career he wanted to pursue, he inspired millions of people, leaving a profound
effect upon the world. Now, with millions of fans, Washington is a famous actor that has starred
in numerous movies such as Courage Under Fire, Crimson Tide, and Malcolm X. Washington,
along with the authors: Aristotle, Peter Elbow, and Donald Murray, and many others, have made
a big difference in the world, simply by using rhetorical strategies. The rhetorical strategy,
repetition, not only works to get the audience involved, it also makes the point of the speech clear
and helps appeal to the audience s emotion. Washington explained that he honestly never
understood why he would want to fall back on something, instead, he wanted to fall forward,
therefore; he would be able to see where he s actually going to fall. Fall forward. Here s what I

her mother said. I m going out of town for work. And you re going skating with your father, (par.

Linda s mom forces her to skate. In Brown Onions, the text states, I ll make you a deal. You try a

44. The Road Not Taken By William Shakespeare
When we travel, we often focus on our destination at a cost of other aspects of the journey is a
statement which can be related to almost any journey whether it be physical, imaginative or
emotional. King Lear is a text (play), written by William Shakespeare, that relates to the statement,
as most of the characters within the play go on their own separate journeys. These journeys result in
the severance of many relationships between characters, such as Edgar and Edmund, and affect the
aspects of their lives that they did not consider. This is similar to The Road Not Taken which is a
poem, written by Robert Frost, that speaks in a metaphorical way to symbolise journey. Within the
poem Frost speaks of the difficulties on choosing which path to take due to their deceiving
appearance and nature. Both these texts portray the statement through a wide array of techniques,
such as symbolism, hamartia, and personification.
King Lear is a text which has parallel narratives, the first following King Lear s family, and the
second following Lord Gloucester s family. The King himself goes on a significant emotional
and imaginative journey, which shapes his identity at the end of the play. Lear s emotional
journey starts at the very start of the play when he asks his daughters to praise and tell him how
much they love him. He soon faces the troubling task of dealing with his two eldest daughter s,
Goneril and Regan, betrayal, due to his own naive desire to receive baseless praise. It

Throughout Reconstruction and post Reconstruction eras, education has been a staple of many
political campaigns, and the downfall of others. Society thrives on education. In the aftermath of
the Civil War, freed slaves scrambled to get representatives into the government, so that public
schools for black folk might be established. All was well during the reconstruction era, but post
Reconstruction saw a heavy decline in black congressional representation, and a corresponding
decrease in support for African Americaneducation. Reconstruction helped to establish institutes of
public education in the south for both races, but, in the end, provided more help to whites than
blacks.

former slaves. The Freedman s Bureau spend over $5 million supporting the impoverished, both

washington D.C.
After reconstruction, people in the south clung to the notion of public education, especially African
Americans. The antics of the Klu Klux Klan had driven black people away from voting, and so as a
result, less and less Black congressional representatives remained in power. Southern states began

5. How did the depression affect ordinary Americans, both economically and physiologically? How
do the stories of Gordon Parks and Odie Stallings illustrate the personal tragedies that people and
families faced during these economic hard times?
While visiting a soup kitchen Sherwood Anderson witnessed acts of pride. The individuals who
were affected by the Great Depression were ashamed to associate with receiving meals from the
soup kitchen in the basement. While observing the daily visit to the soup kitchen Sherwood
Anderson decided to leave because he felt he was making the other Americans feel shameful and

Sherwood Anderson felt that he was causing shame or embarrassment to the other Americans
because of the way that he was dressed. Americans were facing hard times and still did not want

personally believes this. Unferth is seen as a character of nobility, however he is also a foolish
human which shows through his actions when he challenges grendel, his personal definition of a
hero, along with his character during battle. When Grendel is challenged by Unferth, it is seen as
honorable and brave, however he is quickly frightened which can be seen as Gardner explains He

Unferth is cautious and anxious about Grendel s presence. Throughout the apple battle, Grendel

because anthropogenic effects have become a prominent factor in climatic variation and they allow
scientist to get an idea of past climatic variation in order to predict future climatic trends (Redinger,

Glacial ice is created through the annual deposition of snow that piles up in continuous sequences
due to vast plateaus (Bethan, 2014). There are 2 main ice sheets present on Earth today. The first
one is located in Greenland and dates up to 125,000 years ago while the other is the Antarctic ice
sheet that dates up to 800,000 years ago (Ruddiman, 2013). Ice thickness can provide clues about
the local precipitation and thicker layers corresponds to greater snowfall which tells us about
global temperatures due to the fact that more snow tends to accumulate at the poles during
global warm spells. However, majority of the data about past climate is gained from ice cores,
are produced when the ice sheets are drilled on the major axis of growth at about 4 5 inches in
diameter and up to lengths of 1m in order to get a vertical core that can be stored for analysis. Ice
cores are not limited to polar regions, they can be found on 6 of the 7 continents of Earth and can
range in thickness from mountain glaciers to continental ice sheet (Ruddiman, 2013) (Figure 2).

It is a pretty classic high school fight with teachers running out of their classrooms to intervene.
I don t think this scene does have a big modeling effect because unfortunately the kind of
violence nowadays has escalated to a whole different dimension. Long gone are the days where
two kids fought it out one on one with only their hands as weapons. Gangs, knives, bats, guns, or
some other kind of weapon play center stage in most of the altercations today. There is a level of
underlying aggression in this movie, almost like a pressure cooker slowly building until
someone blows. Steff as the bad guy is aggressive in nature, verbally harassing anyone he deems
below him or in Andie s case, anyone who has the gall to say no to him. He is really setting the
stage for Duckie s (good guy) moment of aggression, when exasperated and fed up with the entire
situation, he physically attacks Steff. I think Duckie has just about had it, and although most
blows are obviously in defense of Andie, I think he snuck in a couple for himself (unpopular teen)

probably years in the making. These teens are seniors in high school, and I m sure anyone would

By the October Manifesto, the Tsar allowed the formation of an elected legislative assembly, the

and by inviting opposition into the government, he may be endangering his status. However, this
was not the case. Ironically, it helped strengthened the Tsar s power. The forming of the Duma
appeased the liberals and satisfied their appetite for reforms, hence they are willing to cooperate

stress level can be effective and make things run a lot smoother. Time management is another
area where you can benefit if you are good at it. There are a few things to keep in mind when it
comes to time management. For example, when you are creating documents for work, make a
template. That way you can use it again. Don t try to do more than you know you are capable of
doing. This will make it look like you are not doing your job. Make lists of

54. Jamie Oliver Health Education
Jamie Oliver is more effective in persuading the audience to consider health education. Having an
education on health will make one wiser on the foods that they choose to put in their body, and
make themselves a better person. Only a handful of people live a healthy lifestyle, not only here in
America, but in places all over the world. Today s generation and the one before, are not, and were
not taught how to cook at home, but rather have frozen store bought dinners, or eat out at fast food
restaurants. This leads to weight gain, which quickly becomes obesity. In the TedTalk by Jamie
Oliver, he showed the audience an image of his friend Brittany. Britney is a 16 year old who is
only expected to live six more years. In today s world, Oliver... Show more content on

Home cooked meals were the regular, and they knew where their foods came from, 30 years ago,
food was mostly fresh and local. (Oliver). My mom grew up on a ranch, her parents grew their
own fruits and raised their own meat. Everything was fresh, the food they ate came directly from
their yard. The great majority of the foods eaten today is processed, and are no longer fresh. This
is the problem. The healthy, organic foods are more expensive than the processed. People are
not willing to pay more, when there is something cheaper, that most likely appeals to their taste,
and will be better for their wallets. Robin Konie wrote Let s stop blaming fat, sugar, or any other
one thing. Let s get on the side of real food . One must learn to limit the amount of sugar that
they put into their body, although of course not all sugars are bad for one, nor are all fats. More
than 70% of Americans eat at least 22 teaspoons of added sugar daily. (Richards). The majority
are not aware of how much excess amount of sugar is going into their body. Sugar is addictive,
and the body will crave more and more, if this generation, and the generations after are not
educated, these numbers will go

55. Matthew Shepard Analysis
Society s view on sexuality has played a pivotal role in the equality of the gay community. Their
existence is often ignored as there is a stigma against their lifestyle and those who choose to reveal
their identity are either attacked or shunned away. The fatality of Matthew Shepard during the late
90s proved to show that some parts of society had not yet accepted homosexuality. Whether or not
acceptance is relevant today, the play works to address the issues of sexuality through Matthew and
have the audience understand the reality of the lives tormented by hate.
Shepard s character reveals to the audience the issues of sexuality by serving as a martyr for the
gay community. Sadly his death would then only bring the attention needed to recognize anti gay
hate crimes and awaken the movement needed to replace hate with understanding and
acceptance. As an audience, we regrettably understand that when a tragic event occurs, only then
do we decide to act. Most people are unaware that they have the power to prevent hate crimes by
educating their communities about sexuality and taking away the dogmatic view that only
heterosexuality is normal. One could think of Matthew as a Christ figure, whom he is sacrificed
for the sake of change considering that his death received national attention to anti gay
sentiment. Throughout history there have been worse crimes but never received as much
attention as Laramie. To have one person represent the struggles of the gay community is not
acceptable and the audience needs to understand that there will be more crimes. The residents
Laramie declare they have a live and let live mentality as opposed to the rest of Wyoming.
Whether this mentality is relevant for the rest of the United States, it reaches out to the audience
to question whether they feel the same as those in Laramie. As a society, we choose to avoid
people who don t fit our agenda and as long as they don t come in contact with us, we are ok with
them. This type of mentality is more of a silent treatment. The indifference can be shown by
characters such as Sherry Johnson, wife of a police officer. While she does express sympathy for
Matthew Shepard, she also feels that he is granted a special privilege for

56. Prison Overcrowding Research Paper
Does legalizing drugs eliminate the problem of prison overcrowding? If so, how?
I believe that the legalization of drugs would actually come to reduce our issue of prison
overcrowding. I believe this due to the fact that the statistics present in the Federal Bureau of
Prisons demonstrates that 79,190 of inmates in prison as of April 28 of this year, being 46.2% of
inmates, are incarcerated for drug related offenses. That being said, this comes to illustrate that
almost half of our prison population is behind bars due to drug related criminal activity in which
legalizing such would come to signify that not only would this statistic cease to grow, but such
could also come to clear up 46% of our prison population if the legalization was to
