Case Study Recommendations For Starbucks
Recommendations Since starting its business operations in 1971 Starbucks has worked its way up to
becoming the global leader within the specialty coffee industry and has revolutionized not only this
sector, but the entire coffee culture. However, through rising competition and increasing criticism
within the media and public, Starbucks has to re think its position and further growth. The corporation
still has various opportunities to expand and improve its business, and should take actions in order to
defend its position. Rapid global expansion and entering new markets has been a major driver for
Starbucks success. However, customers become increasingly worried that through the quick growth
the corporation is loosing track of its unique customer selling point and the popular Starbucks
Experience. Especially emerging markets such as Brazil, India, and South Africa are showing great
growth potential through an increasing population within their middle classes, as well as a growing
economy and disposable income. The corporation has already entered these markets and established
the brand in tea drinking nations like India and China, but there is still more room for growth. Also ...

needs and demands and is willing to adapt. Especially new health and wellness options such as

are a great starting point to create value for customers as long as they are of high quality, and

Alternative Dispute Resolution, Or Adr
Alternative Dispute Resolution, or ADR is the phrase used to describe the different methods of ways
to resolve legal disputes outside of the court system. There are many advantages and disadvantages to
it, and they come in many different forms in England and Wales. These include administrative
tribunals, arbitration, mediation, adjudication, conciliation, negotiation, expert determination and the
ombudsmen services.
Administrative Tribunals come in many different forms and can cover many areas including
employment tribunals, lands tribunals and rent tribunals. The most common one being employment
tribunals. The distinction between Tribunals and the Courts have sometimes be blurred because it has
long been held that tribunals are just an administrative extension to the Court system and therefore
some argue that Tribunals are not a separate entity, There is some debate as to whether tribunals are
merely part of the machinery of administration of particular projects or whether their function is the
distinct one of adjudication, 1 However the main difference between tribunals and the courts is that
tribunals are much more specialised in nature, coming in many forms, some of which are stated above.
Administrative tribunals are also not staffed by judges, and are staffed be specialists in the particular
field in which the administrative tribunal is being held. For example, an employment tribunal would
be chaired by a panel of people who specialise in employment law.

tends to work well in a team. Working as a team in any environment is more productive and the
expected outcomes tend to be more of a profitable than working alone. In this report there will be the

Hence they are able to foresee the possible outcomes of the task and this will help the group to
effectively communicate with vision of the possible solution. This kind of personality is clearly found
on someone who is the go getter and someone who is creative. Thinking/Feeling Psychological Types
( 2008b) explains that Thinking is an ability to deal with information on the basis of its structure and
its function. Feeling is an ability to deal with information on the basis of its initial energetic condition
and its interactions , people with this kind of personality (thinking) are more in the decision making
side. Someone with thinking personality has the greater ability of doing things in logical manner and
he tends to pay more attention on the bigger picture of the given task. People with the feeling
personality type are more concerned about feelings of other individuals and they are more ethical,
which makes them to be good in developing team dynamics. Team with good ethical rules they tend to
be more effective and produce quality results. In any working environment there will be some times
conflicts and sometimes conflicts can lead a group to informed or uninformed decisions. So people
with the feeling personality don t like conflicts and that could be their weak link, because when
working as team there are high probabilities of conflicts and sometimes conflicts

Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of the Human...
‘Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of the Human Sciences (Derrida, 1978: 278 –293) may be
read as the document of an event, although Derrida actually commences the essay with a reservation
regarding the word event , as it entails a meaning which it is precisely the function of structural – or
structuralist – thought to reduce or suspect (278). This, I infer, refers to the emphasis within
structuralist discourse on the synchronous analysis of systems and relations within them, as opposed to
a diachronic schemata occupied with uncovering genetic and teleological content in the
transformations of history. br br The event which the essay documents is that of a definitive
epistemological break with structuralist thought, of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The guiding thread Derrida chooses is Levi Strauss opposition between nature and culture. (I am in
parts paraphrasing elements from page 282 – 287). Derrida writes that Levi Strauss encounters a
scandal, which is the incest prohibition (283). The scandal is in that the prohibition is simultaneously
universal and thus natural, while also at the same time as a system of norms and interdicts (283): it is
cultural. The contradiction encountered by Levi Strauss is that the difference established in the
nature/culture binary opposition is erased or at least questioned. Due to this erasure of difference the
origin of this prohibition becomes unthinkable as the whole of philosophical conceptualisation is
designed (283/284) to leave the possibility of the conceptualisation unthinkable, that is, the meaning
of the construction of meaning, difference having been erased, becomes itself impossible to bring to
account. br br Levi Strauss, by way of this realization, is forced to move from metaphysics to
metacommentary (cf. Jameson, 1988) because even though he

The Space Of Space Exploration Essay
Introduction
One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe;
decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the
fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the
Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1,
the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the
Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was
founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths
residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of
space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called
Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest
and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive
teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering.
The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the
best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA
spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their
highly diverse team members. NASA continues to recruit

the book is in Anna s perspective, the reader really gets a feel on what its like to be a mom just from

The Invisible Man Analysis
The story The Invisible Man is written by Ralph Ellison. The author takes his personal experiences as
an ignored man and creates this character that shows the characteristics of a man whom few people
would stop to acknowledge. This story can be seen as a symbol of an educated black man whose life
has been controlled and oppressed by a white society. Throughout the story one will notice that the
man is nameless. The is because the narrator in The Invisible Man is invisible not only to others but
himself as well because of racism and trying to live up to expectations of others. There are certain
tools that are given to him by outsiders and things he will use that will ultimately develop him into
student and man. The author has written about events that made the invisible man who he was. It is
important to notice that the invisible man has been searching for his identity the whole time and will
later discover that his identity is in those things he has always had.
This story also uses appeal of pathetic to grab the reader s attention. Throughout the story the author,
Ralph Ellison, struggles to attempt to uncover the invisible man s identity that is buried beneath
oppression. It is important to understand that the invisible man is an African American male who sates
that he is only looked down on because of his skin color (Ellison). Ralph Ellison goes in detail by
showing us how lies can be seen as an obstacle to anyone s journey of finding himself and his true
identity. These obstacles are expressed in Ralph Ellison s usage of symbols and imagery portrays those
obstacles. The man is faced with these obstacles of deception in his ability to make his own life, but
instead is confined to live the life in white men s society. The purpose calls for action to the public to
open their eyes to realize that racism is a problem that will not go away; it is something that must be
forced to an end whereby men are willing to be themselves in the process.
In the story, the narrator has set out to search for his true identity, but this idea of why he is blind to
the world leads him to become blind in the process. I believe that it is important to focus on the
significance of the man s living situation. The invisible man lives

My Cultural Aspects Of My Culture In Cape Verdean
A culture is a set of characteristics of a particular group of people. It emcopasses language, social
aspect, such as relegion, cuisine, social habits,, music, and arts. I considered my culture to be Cape
Verdean. I was born and raised in Cape Verde until I was fourteen. My country was colonized by the
Portuguese, so there are a lot common culture aspects between Cape Verde and Portugal . One of the
results of colonization was implementation of catholicism as a primary religion in my country. It was
not until recent years that other forms of religious started to emerge in Cape Verde. However, for some
people who strong practice catholicism there is a strong push back against those who aren t from the
same religion. This has raised a lot religion conflict not only with foreign people who come to Cape
verde from different countries in Africa, but it has also originated conflicts amongst Cape Verdeans
who have a different belief.
Into what region or geographical section or world were you born? What messages have you received
about people from this region or geographical area?
Cape Verde is located right in center of the Atlantic Ocean, 500 km off the Western Coast of Africa. In
recent years, more people have started to questioning the location of Cape Verde because unlike other
countries in Africa, Cape Verde is located outside of the African continent. I identify myself to be
African because I see that there is a lot cultural similarities between my country

This Time Magazine Fred Ritchen Analysis
In this Time Magazine article, writer Fred Ritchen debates the merit of violent photos in media. He
begins with the events that prompted him to write this essay. He lists A recent slew of situations
resulting in catastrophic violence and death (Ritchen, p1). This grouping of events, ranging from
disease to plane crashes, has brought to light again the question of what a journalist s duty is in
reference of how much of a horror to show and how much to keep from the public. Ritchen s argument
culminates to the fact that the space taken up by showing these horrors of war and similar atrocities
could be better used to prevent further events. The first argument that Ritchen brings up is the idea
that those who refrain from posting a photo because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We consider the readers and their effect on the debate that, essentially, is of them. He makes the point
that, a grieving mother in Gaza deserves the whole world s attention (Ritchen, 3), but the
consequences of showing everything that deserves to be shown outweigh the benefits. Showing all of
the horrors that the world has to offer can cause a desensitivity to them as the reader tries to
disconnect (Ritchen, 3). He gives a personal example of how hearing about these travesties causes
already such a large scar on his psyche, that a picture serves to do nothing but cause more pain. He
contrasts the ideas made earlier in the essay of owing the victims of horrors to have their stories told
by making an argument that it is just as important to ensure that those stories have their full effect. The
reader of the essay considers their own experiences and most likely comes to the same conclusion that
when confronted with all of the horrors, they are overwhelmed, but a small taste of each can strike the
perfect balance. The sharing of a story in words gives a sense of wrong that exists in the world and
refraining from shocking the reader can give them a sense of ability to change. It has a better chance
of sparking an idea in a reader to call their representative and

Great Anthropocene Essay
A Great Anthropocene or a Utopia
An Eco modernist manifesto states that we need a good Anthropocene, which demands that humans
use their growing social, economic, and technological powers to make life better for people, stabilize
the climate, and protect the natural world (Page 7). In order to protect the natural world, we should
stay away from nature and give more land back to the nature world, instead of letting human society
goes along with nature in harmony. The new technologies would allow us to achieve much more from
a limited amount of land. Thus, humans have the opportunity to re wild and re green the Earth (Page
14) and will achieve a great Anthropocene.
I also deeply love and emotionally connected to the natural world, and I really hope what the
manifesto proposed could come true. I agree that by using new technologies, we can make what
impossible become possible, we can be more efficient, and we can allowing more room for non human
species (Page 18). However, I doubt that would happen, though I believe it could. First, it s not easy to
access these new technologies. Currently, they are not as cheap as the author described. Second, when
the new technologies fail, they might bring more significant disaster to the nature world. Third,
whether we can achieve a great anthropocene is more a humanity issue that a technology issue in my
view.
It s hard to get energy sources that are cheap, clean, dense, and abundant (Page 24), even with new

Great Depression Vs Great Recession Essay

it was not a factor in the Recession. Both the Great Depression and the recession drove people into a
deep depression. During both of these times a lot of things changed for people. One huge similarity is
that they both went through major job losses. In 2008 and 2009, the U.S labor market lost 8.4 million
jobs, or 6.1% of all payroll employment( The Great Recession.) During 1932, 30,000 companies went

Recession had the housing bubble it was also called the National Housing Act that was passed by
Congress in 1934 and set up the Federal Housing Authority ( HUD.Gov by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development ). This agency encouraged banks, building and loan associations,
etc. to make loans for building homes, small business establishments, and farm buildings. If the FHA

borrowing that took place during the housing bubble was mostly mortgage debt. Low interest rates
and the expanded availability of mortgage loan especially subprime mortgages which extended credit
to borrowers with weak financial records made home ownership more attractive and attainable for
millions of Americans. With the expectation that home prices would keep rising, people not only
bought more houses, they also bought bigger houses and accelerated renovations of existing homes (

means nothing was an order doing this time. The reason why the Great Depression and the Recession
were similar because of the job loses, and stock markets were both the main causes they are also

The Genetic Modification Of Humans
Remedial Genetic Modification When discussing the topic genetic modification of humans, some
people readily agree that modification of humans is an unsound procedure. Where their agreement
typically ends, however, is on the question of how much people generally understand about genetic
modification, considering, not only its unfamilirarity, but its broad diversity. Where as some are
convinced this bio ingenuity course of action is unnatural and should not be practiced, others maintain
that unnatural as it may be, its existence should be unveiled in the acceptance a method that primarily
revolves around assisting people for health purposes. I concede that genetic modification in humans
should be allowed remedially in reasons related to improving health. Firstly, the importance of
knowing what human genetic modification actual ranges in and what it entails towards the relevance
of helping people is mandatory. This is crucial for acknowledging its beneficial purposes. Although
the scientific explanations are intricate, the definitions can be generalized for easier understanding.
Competently, it is known that genetic code, genes, is directly inherited from parents to babies through
deoxyribonucleic acid, commonly known as DNA. DNA is two strands, connected by repeating
molecules, which form a spiral shape latter which composes genetic information (Koth). This DNA

Analysis Of The Villa Paul Poiret In France

it. The building I chose is the Villa Paul Poiret in France I will further describe the building Architect
Robert Mallet Stevens was granted the permission to design a villa for fashion designer Paul Poiret in
the 1920 s. Paul Poiret was considered to be a very dominant fashion designer at the time. The

But it was not until in 1934 when it was bought by Elvire Popesco. After the war architects were
changed, Paul Boyer was trusted to run the completion of the villa. Paul Boyer made a few
modifications to Robert Mallet Stevens original design. This meant that the building would no longer
have its original look. The style of the villa is mostly art deco, considering the time in which it was
constructed, it was a very dominant style at the time. Which lead the building to have this type of
design, which is also considered to be 1920 s cubism inspired. The change of architects during its time
of construction meant that a few modifications were made to the villa to give it the appearance of a
cruise liner, bringing the transatlantic steamers which were all the rage at the time to mind. However
Robert Mallet Stevens basic design was however preserved. The villa stands in 48,500 mÂČ of parkland

The Theory Of Democratic Peace
The Theory of Democratic Peace has been a topic of much debate over the years. Why is this? There
are many opinions on this theory and many questions are raised when speaking about it. The argument
that I pose is, is there such a thing as democratic peace? In order to address my argument and in order
to critically analyse Democratic Peace Theory, this piece of academic writing will look at a variety of
causes that some theorists state are behind the Democratic Peace Theory and will look at the different
branches of the theory. Firstly it will look at what ideology the theory can be drawn from and how the
two can link together to prove that democratic peace can exist. Secondly it will look at if the theory
has helped the spreading of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, this theory makes the assumption that if there is a war between two countries, it will be
between one that is democratic and one that is not. There has been some evidence that no two
democratic countries have ever been to war, if we are talking about war in the sense of military action
(Griffiths et al., 2008). For example, 353 pairs of states engaged in wars between 1816 1991 and none
was between two democracies: 155 pairs involved a democracy and a non democratic country, and
198 involved two non democratic states fighting each other (Griffiths et al., 2008). A reason for why
democratic peace theorists stress that democratic states fight with only non democratic states is due to
the reason that, they may be dangerous because they seek other ends, such as conquest or plunder
(Owen 1994). When did the theory originate? Democratic Peace Theory, as it came to be known,
emerged as a robust research programme in the post Cold War years (Daddow, 2013). According to
Rosato (2003), the theory is probably the most powerful liberal contribution to the debate on the
causes of war and peace (p.585)
Now let s talk about the ideology that the theory can be drawn from and let s see how the ideology and
the theory can be linked together to help prove that some sort of democratic peace can and does exist.
Liberalism, an ideology that focuses mainly on the individual, but has other key features such

medical field, this is especially true. From big box hospitals to small practices, competition is fierce.
So how does one stand out from the crowd and stay professional? Brand yourself, and do it well.
In the following pages, I will walk you through a handful of killer techniques that are sure to set you
apart from your competition by building your own personal brand. There are no shortcuts or gimmicks
involved in this process. All you need to do is take a hard look at who you are as a person and doctor
and think deeply on how that can be turned into a brand. When it is all said and done, there is only one
of you, which makes you and your brand unique.
Finding your Voice
To start, we need to come up with your brand. Branding is as much about the product as it is the
company behind it. The same can be said in the medical field. Odds are you are not the only podiatrist
or pulmonologist in your area, but if you have just as much experience as the next guy or gal, how do

would be that he has to quit smoking. Eric should know that he is les likely to get coronary artery
disease if he quits smoking. He should also take into consideration of peoples chances of coronary
artery disease being greater just by being around second hand smoke. This means that the people he
loves has a greater chance of getting coronary artery disease because of the smoke they are around.
Who would want that? Something to really think about. When you quit smoking, it lowers your risk

important fact and reason for you to quit smoking. Death due to heart disease is exactly as if you never

Zombieland Essay
The movie Zombieland (2009) is one of the several movie which accounts for the zombie apocalypse.
The director took his own different approach to the creation of the story. His take on the movie, was
more of a survival guide if a zombie apocalypse actually happens. In the following paragraphs I ll
exploring the film s plot and how it creates particular ideas about the film s diegesis and the meaning
the film s narration creates about love and survival.
The film makes use of first person voice over narration which was the protagonist Columbus Ohio.
The movie began by showing the American flag and the white house which symbolizes the power of
the country. The narrator then goes ahead and explains the situation of things in the U.S that instead ...

It symbolizes the dead, terrible and scary place it had turned into. He gives us the feeling that all hope
for humanity was lost and that it ll just be a matter of time before the zombies would completely take
over the country leaving no humans alive. You could not trust anyone anymore, this was the case of
the protagonist. Whilst trying to survive, he came across different people. First of all, he met a guy,
who had lost his only son to the zombies, at gun point. Both of them after teaming up met two sisters
who ended up conning them into taking all their weapons and means of transportation. This ended up
happening twice but the second time the girls were generous enough to take them along and not leave
them stranded. These girls were on their way to an amusement park which they thought was zombie
free. During their journey, the protagonist started having feelings for one of the girls who conned him
into taking his means of survival twice. She gave him reasons for him to hate but it did just the
opposite which she found very attractive but didn t make a move until he saved her from a zombie in
the final scenes.
This director did a very good job in the arrangement of the story (plot). He used the diegesis to give
the audience a feel of the whole world of the film, with the background music and the lighting. He
also used the diegesis to show survival, love and bonds which

The philosophy of Nazi Germany was on the view of anti semitism. In Adolf Hitler s Mein Kampf, he
explains why he hated the Jews. The first reason was that he wasn t able to tell if the person was a jew

realize that they were a people based on personal beliefs. Third, he didn t like the jews directly on the

of Mein Kampf lead to the Holocaust. During the event, Heinrich Himmler said the purpose was to get

Chiapas Paz Mexico Mural Analysis
The reason I think Chiapas Paz Mexico mural at City Lights bookstore on Jack Kerouac alley is art
because the artist communicates with the viewers by using art theory such as color theory, lines and
shapes, and composition on his mural.
The artist paints a work of art Chiapas Paz Mexico which is influenced by the way of life of the
people living in a river valley in Mexico. For the composition, he paints the mural by dividing two
main parts by using flat form style to tell the story. He doesn t show perspective or overlap objects on
the mural. However, the right side of the mural, he paints an unrealistic shape and forms little village
with buildings, trees, hills and people into the background of the mural, making them appear far away.
At the top of mural, there is an army standing above the mountains of the village. The other interesting
part is the old woman at the left side of the mural. She has the biggest portrait on black the
background and is separated from a part of the village by the 3 soldiers. However, there is a rainbow
ribbon connecting two parts together and the woman is a starting point of the rainbow. The rainbow
ribbon shows the movement from the old woman to the river at the bottom right and continues moves

The Pathology Of A Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Essay
Seth Kahn s (2011), article entitled, Putting Ethnographic Writing in Context, identifies ethnography
as the study of relationships, rituals, values, and habits that make people understand themselves as
members of a group. Ethnographers adopt a stance of observation, as well as participation to better
understand the discourse among members within a particular group, or discourse community (Khan,
2011). This ethnographic research will connect what community members know and do, with what
they say and how they say it (Devitt, Bawarshi, Reiff, 2003). The purpose of this study is to explore
how nurses, working in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, learn the local knowledge necessary to
communicate with a multidisciplinary discourse community successfully. To protect the identity of
participants in this study, the name of the laboratory included in the study will be identified as the
XYZ Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Cardiovascular diseases have long been the leading cause of
death in the United States (Narang et al., 2016). Research predicts the progression of cardiovascular
disease will affect forty percent of our population by the year, 2030 (Narang et al., 2016).
Furthermore, research shows that the cardiovascular workforce is inadequate to meet the rising
demands of this patient population (Narang et al., 2016). In particular, a subset of cardiac nurses, a
cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse is a key member of this cardiovascular workforce.

In the article, Appropriation of Mainstream News: How Saturday Night Live Changed the Political

primarily Saturday Night Live, have changed the means in which we obtain and interpret news and
information. The article s most significant argument is centered around the now famous Saturday
Night Live skit in which Tina Fey parodies Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential
candidate. In the skit, Fey and Amy Poehler impersonate Palin and Katie Couric s interview in which
Palin struggles to answer Couric s questions. According to the article, studies found that after the skit

The quotes chosen are directly from an ABC report by Kate Snow, which includes both the real
interview and the SNL skit. In the video, Kate Snow made it seem like Palin actually said certain
things that were really said by Tina Fey (Abel Barthel). Many readers are not interested in taking the
time to review material online that is included in an article they re reading, so the direct SNL quotes
are valuable in making sure every reader, no matter their prior knowledge of the subject, can
understand the argument. The authors are able to delve into a significant amount of detail regarding
the SNL skit, due to the fact that the skit is the only example used in the article. The entire argument is
centered around the SNL skit with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, and how this incident demonstrates the
way that alternative news sources such as commentary, parody, and online content are increasingly
being incorporated into the mainstream information environment (Abel Barthel, 2013). While other
articles regarding alternate news sources and political discussion may include many different incidents
as examples, the decision to focus purely on one specific incident, the Sarah Palin skit, allows for
more detail, and a more in depth look at how said incident truly affected the political discourse at that
time. Having one, clear example to follow allows the reader to deepen their understanding of the
article without risk of confusing the details of one

Donatello s Bronze Statue Of David Michelangelo
Donatello s bronze sculpture of David is not to be confused with the much larger and more widely
known statue of the same name, done by Michelangelo. Donatello s statue of David can be found in
the Bargello museum in Florence, Italy. The statue only stands about five feet tall, which when
compared to the seventeen foot sculpture by Michelangelo, is relatively small. The statue is made of
bronze using the lost wax technique. It depicts David as having a very effeminate contrapposto stance,
(the standing figure is posed so the weight rests on one leg, while the other leg is bent at the knee in a
very relaxed position), despite standing upon Goliath s severed head. One could almost view David as
a girl, provided he was not nude, due to the soft looking expression on his face, and the way his hair
flows. The floral arrangement upon his head is very distinct. The statue exudes epicenism, as David is
clearly a soldier holding a sword and wearing boots standing upon his vanquished foe s head. ... Show

repurchasing shares with an 80% debt to total capital ratio would significantly decrease shareholder

point. As this proforma shows, the point of diminishing return is somewhere between 40% and 80%.
3. What capital structure would you recommend as appropriate for Bed Bath Beyond? How much
financial risk would Bed Bath Beyond face at each of the proposed levels of debt? Capital Structure
for Bed Bath and Beyond An analysis of a repurchase of stock for $400 million cash, and
recapitalization to 80% debt to total capital by borrowing $1.27 million reveals that BBBYs return on
equity will be 113%, return on assets 61% and an after tax cost of debt of 28%. ROE is ROA and ROA
after tax cost of debt. With the 80% debt to total capital structure ROE exceeds the other two capital
structure scenarios of no debt and 40% debt to total capital. While all of this looks great there are other
considerations. The household and personal products industries debt to total asset ratio is 34.69%
while BBBY debt to total asset ratio is at 44% ($1,270,000/$2,865,023). Increasing to this capital
structure would also reduce shareholders earnings per share.

Because street drug trade is illegal in the United States this inferior practice, a life of dealing drugs,
leads to negative economic practices and several social consequences.
The life of dealing drugs not only involves oneself, but it also involves family members and those who
are close. Luke Bergmann experienced this first hand through his ethnographic studies of people
living in Detroit that were actively involved in drug dealing. His studies discovered that many of the
lives were centered on drug trade to make ends meet. This is because families had no job
opportunities, so the parents take part in drug trade and the children only can follow in their footsteps.
The dealing of drugs negatively affect the lives of individuals and families, Dude Freeman s in

and the addiction to crack. (Bergmann 2008:90) Jessie s sister, Ruby, had taken custody of Dude at an

Invertebrate Biodiversity
Comparison of invertebrate biodiversity in vegetated and open water areas of an urban lake
INTRODUCTION
Interrelationships and interdependence between species in biological communities plays a major role
in the survival of ecosystems (Hafernik, 1992). Biodiversity refers to the variety of life forms and
species biodiversity relates to the varieties of species in a particular habitat (Flinders University,
2015). The greater the biodiversity in a habitat, the more complex are the interactions between species
and the higher the productivity of the ecosystem (Long, et al., 2007). This experiment looked at the
biodiversity of invertebrates in vegetated and open water areas of a freshwater system and the
Simpson s Diversity Indices were used as mathematical indicator of the invertebrate species diversity.

The standard deviation was approximately the same for both habitats, which indicates that the
variation in the data was the same. This suggests that the vegetated area is more biologically diverse
than the open water area. Simpson s index of diversity is also higher for the vegetated area, 0.82,
compared to the open water area, 0.68 (Table 1). A higher value of Simpson s index of diversity also
indicates higher diversity in the vegetated habitat.
From figure 1 it can be seen that open water area of the north side of Flinders University Lakes was
more populated with a high number or organisms present than the vegetated area. However, this larger
population is mainly attributed to the large number of copepods (~750) present in the open water area
(shown in red in Figure 1). The vegetated area had a higher species richness with 17 species present
compared to 13 species in the open water area. This implies that the vegetated area had a higher level
of invertebrate biodiversity than the open water area of the

The Financial Collapse Of The U.s. Economy
The financial collapse of the U.S. economy that occurred in 2008 created a foreclosure crisis that
resulted in thousands of homeowners losing their properties nationwide. This great recession caused
many homeowners to even lose their jobs, savings, and credit worthiness. Predatory lending was a
major contributing factor in these foreclosures.
Predatory loans are also known as sub prime loans. These products were created for savvy buyers who
could not qualify for traditional loans. Stated income loans were very popular with self employed
buyers. Another popular loan was the no income/no asset loan where the buyer qualified primarily
based on his/ her work history and credit. These loans were often called liar loans .

Some lenders would waive the pre payment penalty only if they were the original lender and the
borrower(s) refinanced the loan with them. Due to changes in mortgage guidelines and regulations,
pre payment penalties are no longer allowed with conforming and government loans.
Presently, there are a few options that are available to foreclosure victims in order for these victims to
become potential boomerang buyers . The first option a buyer has is the Cash Option . Those who
have it only need to find a property they can afford. The rent to own option can be a viable option for
buyers if they can find a property with reasonable terms and conditions. In today s market, there are
not many rent to own listings available in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Most
sellers would prefer to sell their property quickly unless they are an investor who is looking for rental

qualify for a property using the rent to own option.
If the buyer s offer is accepted, there is a lease agreement for one year or more, with the purchase
option at the end of the lease term. A sales price may be decided upon at the beginning of the

Ts Eliot Critical Essay
How has your research into TS Eliot s life and the opinions of ONE critic enriched your understanding
of an aspect of The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock?
Let us go then, you and I .
Throughout the poem, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, written by TS Eliot, there is a consistent
use of the words you and I . Not much is said about the narrator or who he is talking to and after
conducting research on TS Eliot himself as well as reading opinions of critics on this topic, my
understanding of who the you and I is has changed quite significantly.
The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock was originally written, primarily, between February 1910 and
July or August 1911. The poem was not first published until June 1915 in the poetic ... Show more

One of the discussed allusions is the methods Eliot uses to draw the audience into the poem. She goes
on to say Let us go then, you and I, Prufrock urges, inviting readers to enter the world of his loneliness
and self deprecating impotence .
Many theories of who Prufrock is talking to exist. Some believe he is talking simply to another person
who is walking through the streets with him. Another theory is that he is talking to himself and
discussing his problems out loud, which was my original understanding. However, now I do not
believe Prufrock would literally talk to himself and urge himself to Let us go . Due to this, my
understanding is that he is talking to the audience and is asking them to continue on with his story and
to listen with what he has to say.
Since conducting research on TS Eliot and The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock my understanding of
who the narrator is and who he is talking to have changed and I now believe that J Alfred Prufrock is
an appropriation of Eliot by himself. Also, I now believe that Prufrock is not talking to himself but is
talking to the audience and urging them to come along with him as he talks about

Essay about Main Features of The New Deal
Main Features of The New Deal
In 1929, the stock market collapsed causing a worldwide economic depression, destroying America s
economy with many people losing their life savings therefore thrusting them into unemployment and
poverty. Unemployment reached highs of over 13 million whilst the GNP for the country reached as
low as $58 billion, compared to the $100 billion+ pre depression figures, because demand and
production fell so dramatically. People were forced out of their homes and moved to shantytowns
known as Hoovervilles . The president in power at the time, J. Edgar Hoover, refused to use the
government funds in order to help the American people. He believed that America was a land of ...

The main features of the New Deal were what are known as the alphabet agencies as they all their
names were reduced to acronyms, which were government, funded and employed many people. Each
agency had specific responsibilities to help get America back on track. The initial agencies were:
Federal Emergency Relief Administration, Civilian Conservation Corps, Public Works Administration
(which later became the Works Progress Administration), Agricultural Adjustment Administration and
the Tennessee Valley Authority. Another feature of the New Deal was the various acts passed, which
were: The Emergency Banking Act, Securities Exchange Act and the National Industrial Recovery
Act.
The first thing Roosevelt did as part of his New Deal was to pass the aforementioned Emergency
Banking Act which declared a bank holiday and closed all banks for at least 8 days. During those 8
days, government workers investigated the banks reopening only those that were deemed reliable,
sound and safe. Soon they officially opened 5000 banks reassuring Americans that their money was
indeed safe. This helped solve the depression partly as it helped return some confidence to the
Americans, which meant that more people would spend or invest money. This was a huge success
because as soon as the banks had re opened, over $1 billion was deposited back into them.
While this was taking place, Roosevelt

Last Of The Mohicans
The Last of the Mohicans
The Last of the Mohicans is a 1992 American historical drama directed by Michael Mann and staring
Daniel Day Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, and Jodhi May, with Russell Means, Wes Studi, Eric Schweig,
and Steven Waddington in supporting roles. It is set in 1757 during the French and Indian War. British
and French troops do battle in colonial America, with aid from various Native American war parties.
The Mohicans are allied with the British while their old enemies, the Hurons, side with the French.
Nathaniel/Hawkeye (Daniel Day Lewis), the white adopted son of the Mohican Chingatchgook
(Russell Means), tries to stay out of the conflict, but together with his father and his brother Uncas
(Eric Schweig) is pulled deeply into it when they rescue the daughters of British Col. Munro (Maurice
Roeves) from a Huron ambush. Hawkeye becomes the protector of the two daughters of a British
colonel who have been targeted by Magua (Wes Studi), a sadistic and vengeful Huron warrior who has
dedicated his life to destroying the girls father for a past injustice. Along with this adventure, a ...

There are at least five million Indians in the US alone and several thousand Mohicans. The recurring
description of Uncas (Eric Schweig) as the last of the Mohicans symbolizes the death of Indian culture
at the hands of the intruding European civilization. The title anticipates the ultimate tragedy of the
film s plot. Although the title specifically refers to Uncas, it also alludes to a larger historical event:
the removal of the Indians by President Andrew Jackson s policies of the 1830s. The phrase the last of
the Mohicans is a passionate expression of grief of the extermination of the ways of life of Native
Americas. The Last of the Mohicans helped bring about another stereotype about Native Americans:
that they were a thing of the

Since, she is my niece my brother gave me permission to include her in the video. As I went through
the activity I tried not to do any modifications in the instruction, I just made up the division problems
as I went through the video. The only thing I change was the counters for the cubes. The student
learned how to do simple division using equal grouping. I know that she learned because she worked
out few problems by herself at the end of the video. She was able to recognize dividing by equal
grouping is just having the same number of units in each group. Example she was able to solve six

Samsung
Samsung has evolved as a world s most important brand. It is the probably the most influential leader
in the Smartphone industry, second leader as a technological organization and a brand that is ranked
among top ten of the world. The unlike perspectives, cutting edge technologies, innovation, and
investments are the method for growth and success.
The structure of the organization is decided based on the size of the company, the type of the industry

tasks are grouped and co ordinate with one another. Samsung has expanded as a business into
insurance industry by acquiring other companies. During the 70s, they then proceeded to diversify its
business in industries and electronics. They invested in future growth by purchasing heavy and
chemical industries. They also increased the competitive position in the world s textile industry. They
integrated its manufacturing processes from raw materials to finished goods.
There are a surplus of products such as batteries, hard drives, televisions, air conditioners and
Smartphone being manufactured by Samsung. Samsung electronics is spread across 80 countries and

Power Of Sexual Jealousy In Oliver Parker s Othello
Othello is a film based on the famous Shakespeare tragedy: Othello. The film was produced in the
United Stated and released on December 15, 1995 in the United Kingdom and United States. The film
s main plot is evolved around the power of sexual jealousy and how it can make people to act on their
emotions instead of their rational mind. The film was directed by Oliver Parker, and he made many
changes from the original play to make the 21st century audiences easier to understand the power of
sexual jealousy. Parker hired famous actors to cast the four major characters in the film such as
Laurence Fishburne (Othello), Irene Jacob (Desdemona), Kenneth Branaugh (Iago), and Nathaniel
Parker (Cassio).I believe Oliver Parker s choice of adding additional ... Show more content on

Iago was practicing some military drills with Othello, which foreshadows that in the future they will
fight.
In my opinion, Kenneth Branaugh (Iago) was the best actor in that movie. He was able to show his
cunningness through his tone of voice and sneaky posture. His representation of Iago demonstrated the
evilness within the character of Iago. I believe Kenneth Branaugh portrayed Iago better than any other
actors that I have ever seen.
I am very glad that the movie modified the scene, when Iago tried to persuade Othello to kill Cassio
and Desdemona. In the original play, Othello turned from a calm mood to a very hatred mood to
Desdemona and Cassio in five minutes, which is not realistic. However, the movie changed the time
frame that it takes two days for Othello to change the mood instead of just five minutes.
At the end of the movie where Othello stabs Iago after he realizes that Iago was lying the whole time.
Othello was unarmed at this point until Cassio gives Othello a dagger to stab Iago. It is clear that the
director wants to let audiences know that Cassio forgives

The Gravedigger s Handbook Book Report
The first picture I drew was of Liesel Meminger finding The Gravedigger s Handbook, located next to
her brother s grave. Liesel s brother, Werner Meminger, died on the train when their mother, Paula
Meminger, was taking them to their foster family, the Hubermann s. The Gravedigger s Handbook
belonged to a young apprentice who dropped the book and Liesel picked it up and kept it. The
importance of The Gravedigger s Handbook was that it was the first book which Liesel steals, leading
to her learning how to read, and to steal more books later on. It is her only tangible memento of her
brother, and also of her mother. The second picture I drew was of Liesel arriving at the Hubermann s
house located on 33 Himmel Street. She is introduced to her foster mother, Rosa Hubermann and her
foster father, Hans Hubermann. She takes an immediate liking into Hans, but was not so sure about
Rosa. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Do Video Games Cause Violence And How Does Video Games...
Many people think video games can cause violence. Most of the people reading this would say yes,
that video games do cause violence because a lot of times you see video games connect with violence
on the news, but how often are video games the main reason that the act of violence someone caused
happened. But what is video game violence and how do these scientists classify it? Most importantly
how do you measure aggression? There have been 300 studies give or take between 2005 to 2013. That
s on average 37.5 studies per year over eight years. Yet none has yielded a good answer on if video
games cause violence or not. When it comes down to the risk factors of violence šno single risk factor
consistently leads a person to act out their aggression.š(Tibi Puiu) Most of these studies were on a time
of two to three hours a day. Along with all of these studies there have been four meta analysis. Meta
analysis is a statistical analysis that combines groups of similar data usually to show the effect size.
With all of this data surely the world would get a good firm answer. Nope, the research has yet to
show a causal relationship. Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17 97% play some sort of game
with violence. (Susan Scuttl) Now violent games can be seen as violent by one person and nonviolent
by another. It s all on perspective People who want to blame video games for real life violence point to
a literary that a person would believe supplies evidence to the association. Counter claim can be
reading a sad book would lead a person to sad thoughts but people say that this doesn t cause
depression. Dr. Christopher Ferguson a professor at Stetson University studies 103 young adults who
were randomized to play no video game, a non violent video game, a violent where they played the
good guy, and a violent video game where they played the bad guy . He found that those kids who had
history of playing violent video games had fewer hostile feeling during a frustration test. Dr.Ferguson
also said that most of the people that show any type of negative thoughts on modern media are much
much older. With that quote most of these so called experiments that show that there a definitive link

  • 3. Alternative Dispute Resolution, Or Adr Alternative Dispute Resolution, or ADR is the phrase used to describe the different methods of ways to resolve legal disputes outside of the court system. There are many advantages and disadvantages to it, and they come in many different forms in England and Wales. These include administrative tribunals, arbitration, mediation, adjudication, conciliation, negotiation, expert determination and the ombudsmen services. Administrative Tribunals come in many different forms and can cover many areas including employment tribunals, lands tribunals and rent tribunals. The most common one being employment tribunals. The distinction between Tribunals and the Courts have sometimes be blurred because it has long been held that tribunals are just an administrative extension to the Court system and therefore some argue that Tribunals are not a separate entity, There is some debate as to whether tribunals are merely part of the machinery of administration of particular projects or whether their function is the distinct one of adjudication, 1 However the main difference between tribunals and the courts is that tribunals are much more specialised in nature, coming in many forms, some of which are stated above. Administrative tribunals are also not staffed by judges, and are staffed be specialists in the particular field in which the administrative tribunal is being held. For example, an employment tribunal would be chaired by a panel of people who specialise in employment law. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of the Human... ‘Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of the Human Sciences (Derrida, 1978: 278 –293) may be read as the document of an event, although Derrida actually commences the essay with a reservation regarding the word event , as it entails a meaning which it is precisely the function of structural – or structuralist – thought to reduce or suspect (278). This, I infer, refers to the emphasis within structuralist discourse on the synchronous analysis of systems and relations within them, as opposed to a diachronic schemata occupied with uncovering genetic and teleological content in the transformations of history. br br The event which the essay documents is that of a definitive epistemological break with structuralist thought, of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The guiding thread Derrida chooses is Levi Strauss opposition between nature and culture. (I am in parts paraphrasing elements from page 282 – 287). Derrida writes that Levi Strauss encounters a scandal, which is the incest prohibition (283). The scandal is in that the prohibition is simultaneously universal and thus natural, while also at the same time as a system of norms and interdicts (283): it is cultural. The contradiction encountered by Levi Strauss is that the difference established in the nature/culture binary opposition is erased or at least questioned. Due to this erasure of difference the origin of this prohibition becomes unthinkable as the whole of philosophical conceptualisation is designed (283/284) to leave the possibility of the conceptualisation unthinkable, that is, the meaning of the construction of meaning, difference having been erased, becomes itself impossible to bring to account. br br Levi Strauss, by way of this realization, is forced to move from metaphysics to metacommentary (cf. Jameson, 1988) because even though he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Space Of Space Exploration Essay Introduction One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe; decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1, the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering. The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their highly diverse team members. • 10. The Invisible Man Analysis The story The Invisible Man is written by Ralph Ellison. The author takes his personal experiences as an ignored man and creates this character that shows the characteristics of a man whom few people would stop to acknowledge. This story can be seen as a symbol of an educated black man whose life has been controlled and oppressed by a white society. Throughout the story one will notice that the man is nameless. The is because the narrator in The Invisible Man is invisible not only to others but himself as well because of racism and trying to live up to expectations of others. There are certain tools that are given to him by outsiders and things he will use that will ultimately develop him into student and man. The author has written about events that made the invisible man who he was. It is important to notice that the invisible man has been searching for his identity the whole time and will later discover that his identity is in those things he has always had. This story also uses appeal of pathetic to grab the reader s attention. Throughout the story the author, Ralph Ellison, struggles to attempt to uncover the invisible man s identity that is buried beneath oppression. It is important to understand that the invisible man is an African American male who sates that he is only looked down on because of his skin color (Ellison). Ralph Ellison goes in detail by showing us how lies can be seen as an obstacle to anyone s journey of finding himself and his true identity. These obstacles are expressed in Ralph Ellison s usage of symbols and imagery portrays those obstacles. The man is faced with these obstacles of deception in his ability to make his own life, but instead is confined to live the life in white men s society. The purpose calls for action to the public to open their eyes to realize that racism is a problem that will not go away; it is something that must be forced to an end whereby men are willing to be themselves in the process. In the story, the narrator has set out to search for his true identity, but this idea of why he is blind to the world leads him to become blind in the process. I was born and raised in Cape Verde until I was fourteen. My country was colonized by the Portuguese, so there are a lot common culture aspects between Cape Verde and Portugal . One of the results of colonization was implementation of catholicism as a primary religion in my country. It was not until recent years that other forms of religious started to emerge in Cape Verde. However, for some people who strong practice catholicism there is a strong push back against those who aren t from the same religion. This has raised a lot religion conflict not only with foreign people who come to Cape verde from different countries in Africa, but it has also originated conflicts amongst Cape Verdeans who have a different belief. • 12. This Time Magazine Fred Ritchen Analysis In this Time Magazine article, writer Fred Ritchen debates the merit of violent photos in media. He begins with the events that prompted him to write this essay. He lists A recent slew of situations resulting in catastrophic violence and death (Ritchen, p1). This grouping of events, ranging from disease to plane crashes, has brought to light again the question of what a journalist s duty is in reference of how much of a horror to show and how much to keep from the public. Ritchen s argument culminates to the fact that the space taken up by showing these horrors of war and similar atrocities could be better used to prevent further events. We consider the readers and their effect on the debate that, essentially, is of them. He makes the point that, a grieving mother in Gaza deserves the whole world s attention (Ritchen, 3), but the consequences of showing everything that deserves to be shown outweigh the benefits. Showing all of the horrors that the world has to offer can cause a desensitivity to them as the reader tries to disconnect (Ritchen, 3). He gives a personal example of how hearing about these travesties causes already such a large scar on his psyche, that a picture serves to do nothing but cause more pain. He contrasts the ideas made earlier in the essay of owing the victims of horrors to have their stories told by making an argument that it is just as important to ensure that those stories have their full effect. The reader of the essay considers their own experiences and most likely comes to the same conclusion that when confronted with all of the horrors, they are overwhelmed, but a small taste of each can strike the perfect balance. The sharing of a story in words gives a sense of wrong that exists in the world and refraining from shocking the reader can give them a sense of ability to change. • 13. Great Anthropocene Essay A Great Anthropocene or a Utopia An Eco modernist manifesto states that we need a good Anthropocene, which demands that humans use their growing social, economic, and technological powers to make life better for people, stabilize the climate, and protect the natural world (Page 7). In order to protect the natural world, we should stay away from nature and give more land back to the nature world, instead of letting human society goes along with nature in harmony. The new technologies would allow us to achieve much more from a limited amount of land. Thus, humans have the opportunity to re wild and re green the Earth (Page 14) and will achieve a great Anthropocene. I also deeply love and emotionally connected to the natural world, and I really hope what the manifesto proposed could come true. I agree that by using new technologies, we can make what impossible become possible, we can be more efficient, and we can allowing more room for non human species (Page 18). However, I doubt that would happen, though I believe it could. First, it s not easy to access these new technologies. Currently, they are not as cheap as the author described. Second, when the new technologies fail, they might bring more significant disaster to the nature world. Third, whether we can achieve a great anthropocene is more a humanity issue that a technology issue in my view. Both the Great Depression and the recession drove people into a deep depression. During both of these times a lot of things changed for people. This agency encouraged banks, building and loan associations, etc. to make loans for building homes, small business establishments, and farm buildings. If the FHA approved the plans, it would insure the loan ( National Housing Act by John Simkin ). The Most of the borrowing that took place during the housing bubble was mostly mortgage debt. Low interest rates and the expanded availability of mortgage loan especially subprime mortgages which extended credit to borrowers with weak financial records made home ownership more attractive and attainable for millions of Americans. With the expectation that home prices would keep rising, people not only bought more houses, they also bought bigger houses and accelerated renovations of existing homes ( Cause the great depression by Muddy Water Macro ) .The recession was an economic downturn which means nothing was an order doing this time. The Genetic Modification Of Humans Remedial Genetic Modification When discussing the topic genetic modification of humans, some people readily agree that modification of humans is an unsound procedure. Where their agreement typically ends, however, is on the question of how much people generally understand about genetic modification, considering, not only its unfamilirarity, but its broad diversity. Where as some are convinced this bio ingenuity course of action is unnatural and should not be practiced, others maintain that unnatural as it may be, its existence should be unveiled in the acceptance a method that primarily revolves around assisting people for health purposes. I concede that genetic modification in humans should be allowed remedially in reasons related to improving health. Firstly, the importance of knowing what human genetic modification actual ranges in and what it entails towards the relevance of helping people is mandatory. This is crucial for acknowledging its beneficial purposes. Although the scientific explanations are intricate, the definitions can be generalized for easier understanding. Competently, it is known that genetic code, genes, is directly inherited from parents to babies through deoxyribonucleic acid, commonly known as DNA. However, buying stocks also entails risk because of price fluctuation. The risk will be potentially large in case price falls to zero. In order to avoid risk one may like to buy a call option. • 19. The Theory Of Democratic Peace The Theory of Democratic Peace has been a topic of much debate over the years. Why is this? There are many opinions on this theory and many questions are raised when speaking about it. The argument that I pose is, is there such a thing as democratic peace? In order to address my argument and in order to critically analyse Democratic Peace Theory, this piece of academic writing will look at a variety of causes that some theorists state are behind the Democratic Peace Theory and will look at the different branches of the theory. Firstly it will look at what ideology the theory can be drawn from and how the two can link together to prove that democratic peace can exist. Secondly it will look at if the theory has helped the spreading of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, this theory makes the assumption that if there is a war between two countries, it will be between one that is democratic and one that is not. There has been some evidence that no two democratic countries have ever been to war, if we are talking about war in the sense of military action (Griffiths et al., 2008). For example, 353 pairs of states engaged in wars between 1816 1991 and none was between two democracies: 155 pairs involved a democracy and a non democratic country, and 198 involved two non democratic states fighting each other (Griffiths et al., 2008). A reason for why democratic peace theorists stress that democratic states fight with only non democratic states is due to the reason that, they may be dangerous because they seek other ends, such as conquest or plunder (Owen 1994). When did the theory originate? Democratic Peace Theory, as it came to be known, emerged as a robust research programme in the post Cold War years (Daddow, 2013). According to Rosato (2003), the theory is probably the most powerful liberal contribution to the debate on the causes of war and peace (p.585) Now let s talk about the ideology that the theory can be drawn from and let s see how the ideology and the theory can be linked together to help prove that some sort of democratic peace can and does exist. This ended up happening twice but the second time the girls were generous enough to take them along and not leave them stranded. These girls were on their way to an amusement park which they thought was zombie free. During their journey, the protagonist started having feelings for one of the girls who conned him into taking his means of survival twice. She gave him reasons for him to hate but it did just the opposite which she found very attractive but didn t make a move until he saved her from a zombie in the final scenes. The Pathology Of A Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Essay Seth Kahn s (2011), article entitled, Putting Ethnographic Writing in Context, identifies ethnography as the study of relationships, rituals, values, and habits that make people understand themselves as members of a group. Ethnographers adopt a stance of observation, as well as participation to better understand the discourse among members within a particular group, or discourse community (Khan, 2011). This ethnographic research will connect what community members know and do, with what they say and how they say it (Devitt, Bawarshi, Reiff, 2003). The purpose of this study is to explore how nurses, working in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, learn the local knowledge necessary to communicate with a multidisciplinary discourse community successfully. To protect the identity of participants in this study, the name of the laboratory included in the study will be identified as the XYZ Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Donatello s Bronze Statue Of David Michelangelo Donatello s bronze sculpture of David is not to be confused with the much larger and more widely known statue of the same name, done by Michelangelo. Donatello s statue of David can be found in the Bargello museum in Florence, Italy. The statue only stands about five feet tall, which when compared to the seventeen foot sculpture by Michelangelo, is relatively small. The statue is made of bronze using the lost wax technique. It depicts David as having a very effeminate contrapposto stance, (the standing figure is posed so the weight rests on one leg, while the other leg is bent at the knee in a very relaxed position), despite standing upon Goliath s severed head. One could almost view David as a girl, provided he was not nude, due to the soft looking expression on his face, and the way his hair flows. The floral arrangement upon his head is very distinct. Biodiversity refers to the variety of life forms and species biodiversity relates to the varieties of species in a particular habitat (Flinders University, 2015). The greater the biodiversity in a habitat, the more complex are the interactions between species and the higher the productivity of the ecosystem (Long, et al., 2007). From figure 1 it can be seen that open water area of the north side of Flinders University Lakes was more populated with a high number or organisms present than the vegetated area. However, this larger population is mainly attributed to the large number of copepods (~750) present in the open water area (shown in red in Figure 1). The vegetated area had a higher species richness with 17 species present compared to 13 species in the open water area. This implies that the vegetated area had a higher level of invertebrate biodiversity than the open water area of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Swimming Event Of Doom In the past, when people asked me what my biggest fear is I would often lie and say I was deadly afraid of spiders or the dark. But, there was actually a real fear which I obtained. It was the 200 IM, a swimming event which consists of 50 yard of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. Every swimmer has that one event which the dread or wish didn t exist. For different swimmers, this Event of Doom may vary from the 500 yard freestyle or the 200 yard butterfly. For some there may be a story behind their reason but for others, it may be just because they are downright scared of swimming it. I heard my coach urge. I just know you can! Swimmers, step up, called the announcer. He waited until the six swimmers walked up to their diving blocks. I stepped on the block and was medas there was an earthquake around me that only affected me and constantly causing my feet to wobble. The swimmers bent down and held the edge of the diving blocks. I looked so ready and professional on the diving block, but inside my stomach was on the world s biggest rollercoaster and my heart was the one who wanted to jump out into the pool. The water smiled gleefully and taunting at me. I heard a piercing sound and decided that it was do or die. Economy The financial collapse of the U.S. economy that occurred in 2008 created a foreclosure crisis that resulted in thousands of homeowners losing their properties nationwide. This great recession caused many homeowners to even lose their jobs, savings, and credit worthiness. Predatory lending was a major contributing factor in these foreclosures. Predatory loans are also known as sub prime loans. These products were created for savvy buyers who could not qualify for traditional loans. Stated income loans were very popular with self employed buyers. Another popular loan was the no income/no asset loan where the buyer qualified primarily based on his/ her work history and credit. Due to changes in mortgage guidelines and regulations, pre payment penalties are no longer allowed with conforming and government loans. Those who have it only need to find a property they can afford. The rent to own option can be a viable option for buyers if they can find a property with reasonable terms and conditions. In today s market, there are not many rent to own listings available in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Most sellers would prefer to sell their property quickly unless they are an investor who is looking for rental income. This, however, may not be the case across the nation. A buyer needs to be credit worthy to qualify for a property using the rent to own option. If the buyer s offer is accepted, there is a lease agreement for one year or more, with the purchase option at the end of the lease term. A sales price may be decided upon at the beginning of the agreement or at the end of the lease. Seller financing is another optional choice for the buyer. • 40. Ts Eliot Critical Essay How has your research into TS Eliot s life and the opinions of ONE critic enriched your understanding of an aspect of The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock? Let us go then, you and I . Throughout the poem, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, written by TS Eliot, there is a consistent use of the words you and I . Not much is said about the narrator or who he is talking to and after conducting research on TS Eliot himself as well as reading opinions of critics on this topic, my understanding of who the you and I is has changed quite significantly. She goes on to say Let us go then, you and I, Prufrock urges, inviting readers to enter the world of his loneliness and self deprecating impotence . Many theories of who Prufrock is talking to exist. Some believe he is talking simply to another person who is walking through the streets with him. Another theory is that he is talking to himself and discussing his problems out loud, which was my original understanding. However, now I do not believe Prufrock would literally talk to himself and urge himself to Let us go . Due to this, my understanding is that he is talking to the audience and is asking them to continue on with his story and to listen with what he has to say. Since conducting research on TS Eliot and The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock my understanding of who the narrator is and who he is talking to have changed and I now believe that J Alfred Prufrock is an appropriation of Eliot by himself. Another feature of the New Deal was the various acts passed, which were: The Emergency Banking Act, Securities Exchange Act and the National Industrial Recovery Act. The first thing Roosevelt did as part of his New Deal was to pass the aforementioned Emergency Banking Act which declared a bank holiday and closed all banks for at least 8 days. During those 8 days, government workers investigated the banks reopening only those that were deemed reliable, sound and safe. Soon they officially opened 5000 banks reassuring Americans that their money was indeed safe. This helped solve the depression partly as it helped return some confidence to the Americans, which meant that more people would spend or invest money. This was a huge success because as soon as the banks had re opened, over $1 billion was deposited back into them. While this was taking place, Roosevelt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although the title specifically refers to Uncas, it also alludes to a larger historical event: the removal of the Indians by President Andrew Jackson s policies of the 1830s. The film was produced in the United Stated and released on December 15, 1995 in the United Kingdom and United States. The film s main plot is evolved around the power of sexual jealousy and how it can make people to act on their emotions instead of their rational mind. The film was directed by Oliver Parker, and he made many changes from the original play to make the 21st century audiences easier to understand the power of sexual jealousy. In my opinion, Kenneth Branaugh (Iago) was the best actor in that movie. He was able to show his cunningness through his tone of voice and sneaky posture. His representation of Iago demonstrated the evilness within the character of Iago. I believe Kenneth Branaugh portrayed Iago better than any other actors that I have ever seen. I am very glad that the movie modified the scene, when Iago tried to persuade Othello to kill Cassio and Desdemona. In the original play, Othello turned from a calm mood to a very hatred mood to Desdemona and Cassio in five minutes, which is not realistic. However, the movie changed the time frame that it takes two days for Othello to change the mood instead of just five minutes. • 49. Do Video Games Cause Violence And How Does Video Games... Many people think video games can cause violence. Most of the people reading this would say yes, that video games do cause violence because a lot of times you see video games connect with violence on the news, but how often are video games the main reason that the act of violence someone caused happened. But what is video game violence and how do these scientists classify it? Most importantly how do you measure aggression? There have been 300 studies give or take between 2005 to 2013. That s on average 37.5 studies per year over eight years. Yet none has yielded a good answer on if video games cause violence or not. When it comes down to the risk factors of violence šno single risk factor consistently leads a person to act out their aggression.š(Tibi Puiu) Most of these studies were on a time of two to three hours a day. Along with all of these studies there have been four meta analysis. Meta analysis is a statistical analysis that combines groups of similar data usually to show the effect size. With all of this data surely the world would get a good firm answer. Nope, the research has yet to show a causal relationship. Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17 97% play some sort of game with violence. (Susan Scuttl) Now violent games can be seen as violent by one person and nonviolent by another. It s all on perspective People who want to blame video games for real life violence point to a literary that a person would believe supplies evidence to the association. Counter claim can be reading a sad book would lead a person to sad thoughts but people say that this doesn t cause depression. Dr. Christopher Ferguson a professor at Stetson University studies 103 young adults who were randomized to play no video game, a non violent video game, a violent where they played the good guy, and a violent video game where they played the bad guy . He found that those kids who had history of playing violent video games had fewer hostile feeling during a frustration test.
