Btec Business Unit 4 Communication P7 Essay
P7 Madness in the Method
It is very important in business that individuals have lucrative methods of communication in order to
convey important messages, and use these methods in order to interact with other businesses and the
public. Methods of communication can also be commonly used to advertise and market, for example
via the use of social networks which advertise to a wide range of individual, to through written posters
which can be placed up in shop advertisements and on notice boards alike.
Electronic Methods of communication
Electronic methods of communication refer to more modern communication, which can be performed
through a variety of more modern devices, such as Computers (and laptops), Telephone/mobile
phones, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People in businesses might also use this method by means of communication with a large group of
colleagues, e.g. they could arrange an event via Facebook or Twitter, which is much quicker than
merely putting a poster up on a notice board at work to advertise the event.
Digital Publication
Digital publication is defined as any method of publication, which is not web based. This is essentially
electronic publication that can be used to convey information to people. Examples of digital
publication includes PowerPoint s (which can be easily set up on a word document such as Microsoft
PowerPoint, and are accessible to everyone) SMS or Text Messages, Photo and Video Sharing.
PowerPoint s are widely used at Schools and Businesses during lectures in order to teach other people.
The interactive method of teaching engages people, as it makes the speech accompanied with the
PowerPoint more motivating. SMS Text messages in a business environment are quick and easy to
use, and allow colleagues to talk to each other in a more informal way. Photo and video sharing is a
very beneficial method of communicating messages. Photos and videos can be used to accompany
presentations, or can be used in order to illustrate messages on behalf of a company, etc.

Terrorist Attacks On The United States
September 11th, 2001, alleged Al Qaeda members attacked the United States of America with four
passenger planes, Boeing 757s. Two planes flew into the North and South Towers of the World Trade
Center in New York, one plane flew into the Pentagon, and the remaining plane was possibly targeting
the White House but was unsuccessful. People all over America felt an utter shock and disbelief after
this tragic event as people demanded answers. After the terrorist attacks, a portion of Americans
started to believe in conspiracies proving the government was behind it all. To add, Americans also
believed that the U.S. government knew in advance of the terrorist attacks on September 11th due to
the time between the attacks and the Bush administration s attempt to investigate, the National
Security Association s lack of investigation of suspicious phone calls, and the odd collapse of World
Trade Center Seven. However, the government tried to counter attack with the points that Al Qaeda
was behind the attacks on September 11th, Khalid Mohammed was the mastermind behind September
11th, and that debris hit World Trade Center Seven. After the tragedy, the U.S. government believed
that Al Qaeda hijacked the planes used in the attacks. During investigations after the attacks, the FBI
found a copy of the Koran the holy book of Islam and pilot manuals in a hijacker s car at the Logan
International Airport in Boston prior to the attacks. The FBI then traced down the hijackers to

Considering Learning About The World s Complications Essay
Considering learning about the world s complications is quite strenuous, it is only realistic that thirst
for environmental action arise. When taking a break and getting a bottle of water, another call to
action is found in the style of carbon dioxide discharge reduction via water bottles. Not partaking in
the sales of plastic water bottles and instead investing in a reusable bottle can dramatically decrease
the carbon emissions of plastic bottle manufacturers. A special kind of plastic called polyethylene
terephthalate (PET) is melted down to manufacture water bottles, and the process of making the
material itself involves producing around 3 tons of carbon dioxide for every ton of PET made.
Annually, this creates more than 2.6 billion tons of CO2 emissions just from the bottled water industry
( Bottled water and energy factsheet, 2007). Along with the PET engineering emissions, the oil burned
to produce water bottles releases even more C02. It takes around 3.4 megajoules of energy to make a
typical one liter (33 ounce) plastic bottle, cap, and packaging. Making enough PET to bottle America s
yearly quota of water requires more than 106 billion megajoules of energy. Because a barrel of oil
contains around 6,000 megajoules, the Pacific Institute figures more than 17 million barrels of oil
were needed to produce the nation s water bottles ( Bottled water and energy factsheet, 2007). Because
a barrel of oil, when burned, releases almost 700 lbs. of C02, the environmental

Chile Culture
Chile is a place where God put a little piece of all the rest of the world. (Traditions). A Chilean native
said this when talking of all the culture that has concreted together from different ethnicities coming
together in their native country. Chile has a fascinating culture and way of life, and the more you learn
of it through studying their heritage, life in cities and rural areas, and domestic life, the more
captivating it becomes.
Although life in Chile has changed in many ways, much of the past heritage is similar to the current
heritage. Most citizens older than 14 can read and write. Free public school is provided in Chile, and
children must attend 8 years of elementary school. Children are required to wear uniforms, but when
they are not in uniforms, they have a very similar style of cloths to our culture s. Music is very big in
Chile now, also, like it has been in the past. Much of Chile is Roman ... Show more content on

Before the 1960s, fundos which were large estates filled the countryside. Many families worked on
fundos, receiving a small wage. But during the 1960s, the government broke up fundos, causing rural
citizens to lose their jobs and move to cities, clearing up the countryside. Those left in rural areas
enjoy family outings and visiting friends and neighbors for recreation, in view of the fact that the
countryside has very little people since fundos have broken up. Citizens who live in cities, however,
go to movies, plays, ballets, and operas to entertain themselves. 80% of Chileans live in cities by the
coast, a majority of the residents looking for a better life. Many of the poor live in callampas

Cyclohexanol Synthesis Lab Report
In order to complete a certain experiment 20g of cyclohexanol was needed to proceed. However, the
stock of cyclohexanol in the storeroom was depleted and the compound was on backorder. In order to
proceed with the research as quickly as possible, it was decided that the needed cyclohexanol was to
be synthesized in the lab. The objective of the designed experiment was to synthesize 20g of
cyclohexanol from 20g of cyclohexanone. This was achieved by the reduction of the keytone found in
cyclohexanone using sodium borohydride. The experiment carried out in lab resulted in 18.6 g of
cyclohexanol. This is below the required amount of cyclohexanol needed to be synthesized.
Furthermore, the final collected solution was not pure. The refractive

Tommy John Research Paper
Tommy John Surgery
Tommy John surgery, or more well known as ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, is a surgery in
which a ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with a ligament from elsewhere in the body. This
replacement ligament is usually taken from the forearm, hamstring, or foot of the patient. This
ligament is needed for everyday things such as twisting a doorknob. This injury is usually seen in
professional baseball pitchers because of the daily repetitive throwing and because of violent motions
from throwing a baseball. RA Dickey was born without a UCL and pitches in the majors. Doctors still
do not know how he can do this because you should not be able to do anything this way.
A torn elbow ligament was the most common cause of The Dead Arm Injury era, the 20th century.
This was uncommon before this time. Long before then, because of the lack of research on the injury,
this gave pitcher s a 1 in 100 chance of returning and being able to pitch. Until in 1974
Dr. Frank Jobe developed a procedure for pitcher Tommy John (who the surgery was named after).
With vivid research of the ligaments inside the medial elbow he developed a way to make the elbow
back to normal strength or in some cases much more stronger. This surgery consisted of the new
tendon being implanted and woven in a figure eight pattern through holes ... Show more content on

Even with this training a quick recovery is considered an elongated 13 months. Most people take close
to 18 months and however long it takes would not be able to pitch immediately. With rapid amounts of
these injuries starting to occur in the 20th century it quickly became a normal and expected thing for
pitchers to have to undergo this surgery at one point in their career. Some people believe this is
because of the game changing and baseball players beginning to throw curveballs at a very early

Freudian Slip Essay
Introduction
Freudian slip theory was originally created by Sigmund Freud. He was an Austrian neurologist and
was better known as the founder of psychoanalysis (1856 1939). Psychoanalysis can be defined as a
set of psychological theories which includes the Freudian slip theory. He believed that everyone
possess an unconscious mind, feelings, desires and memories in their lifetime. It is to be said that
peoples will bring their unconscious content on their mind to their conscious awareness and people
will be able to experience catharsis and gain insight into their current state of mind. (Cherry, What is
Psychoanalysis?, 2016)
Freud s theory of slips of the tongue and pen Sigmund Freud theory is formed based on peoples brings
the unconscious thoughts to conscious self. Freudian slip is the Hint of the Unconscious. (Cherry,
What is a Freudian Slip?, 2015) A Freudian slip also known as a parapraxis, is an error of speech and
memory or physical action which Freud stated was a result of interference of self own
unconsciousness wish, desire, conflict or train of thought. Freud believed errors of all types were
revealing. It acted like a defense mechanisms and errors come in many varieties. Freudian slips are

The Mystery Of The Vampire
The vampire is the popular character in folklore from early civilization to modern life. The vampire
appears in people mind with the passion of immortality, fear, love and mystery. People are attracted
with vampire because the superstition of the vampire has done for centuries. Are they real? What are
they? Where they come from? There are a few of thousand questions about the beliefs of vampire
during many centuries. People don t stop their curiosity with vampire the legend that emulates the
world cultures and religions. One of the most important reason that made vampire still popular until
today is the great transformation. During the time, with the creative of human, vampire reforms to fit
with modern age. According to the Jung and the Jungians on Myth , Steven Walke implies myth is a
metaphor and come from the collective of human psyche. People use vampire as the tools to explain
human thinking. Therefore, the charging in the thinking of people in different period of time will

three main topics: the vampire in the historical and religion thinking; the charging of vampire in
literature and movie; the symbol of vampire in modern people thinking. Although three main topics

Landscape Perspective
Landscape Perspectives on Death Landscapes have been modified by humans since ancient times and
continue to be today. Whether for intensive agricultural purposes or mortuary practices, it is part of
everyday life. Modification of a landscape for mortuary practices is to connect the living and ancestors
through physical bonds, but placing the dead with mapping out tombs is for the living. The landscape
perspective varies between groups but by integrating the dead into an environment, through
monuments, burials into natural features, or offerings and shrines, the relationship between the dead
and the landscape is a key factor is relations with ancestors creating traditions that are still around
today.

It becomes part of everyday life and the living are always aware of it and those buried among it. But,
despite the tombs or monuments being visible within the landscape there is still this separation
between the dead and the living. Examples of such tombs can be found from Neolithic monuments in
Europe. There are three types of monuments, the first being a dolmen where communal burials
occurred, and the site was covered with rough boulders and one flat one on top. These dolmens
evolved with the settlements and were engineered throughout time but they stayed the center of ritual
landscape. The second is menhir, the standing stone which had ritual and astronomic relations, as it is
lined up with the horizon. Last of the monuments are henges, which are a circle of usually wood
uprights that have ditches and embankments around them, along with notches that point to other henge
sites (Fisher, DATE). The most well known being Stone Henge. It was used for a vast period of time
and continues to be used for rituals today. It was rare for henges to be created with stones, and in this
case the stones were not local and had to be transported to the area. Representing the importance of

Abstract:
In the recent time, there will be an increasing need to provide application platforms such as internet
deployment for areas without infrastructure, wireless video streaming between moving objects, data
exchange between office equipment etc. These applications can be solved with the help of wireless ad
hoc networks that can be realized e.g., with Wi Fi protocols. The question arises, what theoretical
throughput different wireless standards can achieve, and how much the throughput will decrease when
data has to be transferred over several hops. This is a technology that enables un tethered wireless
networking environments where there is no wired or cellular infrastructure. Wireless Ad hoc Networks
since then is a fast developing research area with a vast spectrum of applications. Wireless sensor
network systems enable the reliable monitoring of a variety of environments for both civil and military
applications
This paper provides an overview of wireless technologies which can be used in ad hoc scenarios, their
limitations and applications involved in this mechanism.

Water On Mars
In the article Mars Shows Signs of Having Flowing Water, Possible Niches for Life, NASA Says
written by Kenneth Chang the central idea is that there is a probability of life on another planet other
than Earth. The reason this article is important to us is because with these findings, researchers will be
eager to follow up on the discovery so that we can find out if the probable signs of liquid water
flowing mean that life could sustain on Mars. For many years scientists have been interested in
knowing whether or not there is other life and if there has previously been life on other planets. With
this discovery, we are getting closer to coming up with possible answers.
In the past year, researchers have found probable signs of liquid water flowing on Mars surface, such
as waterlogged molecules, leading to the idea that Mars could possibly sustain life. Hydrated salt was
seen through the orbital camera, this is significant because hydrated ... Show more content on

Or why do we care that there could have been life before us on another planet? The answer is simple,
we know that water is essential to life, so water on Mars means life. Mars is the only planet that we
have discovered with signs of water, which makes this an important discovery. Mars is also very close
to Earth in the solar system, which makes this relevant to us. If we could find evidence of life on Mars
it is possible that we could use findings to our benefit, we could use this as a reason to keep looking
further into Mars. If the research of Mars continued, researchers could dig deep into the layers of Mars
and possibly find even more clues all leading to the hopeful discovery that life does live or has lived
on Mars. It is possible that one day in the future NASA will be able to send an astronaut to Mars.
However, with everything stated above, there still needs to be more research done to find out if life
could really sustain on

The Theory Of Cultural Moral Relativism
Michael Atefi
Professor Walker
Phil 1020
29 September 2015
First Exam
1.) The theory of cultural moral relativism is based on the beliefs that it is arrogant to judge the moral
codes of other cultures and that people should be tolerant towards the practices of other cultures
(Rachels 19). By holding these beliefs, the theory implies that all cultures are equal and should be
treated as such. Cultural moral relativism is also based on the idea that there is no universal truth in
ethics (Rachels 18). If a certain standard exists in a society, that standard is right (at least in that
society). The only way that a person can be right is if they follow the moral codes of the society that
they are apart of (Rachels 22). Moral codes vary from culture to culture. Therefore, the metaphysical
assumptions and metaethical implications of cultural moral relativism are that morality is relative and
there is no such thing as objective moral facts. According to James Rachels, there are three
problematic consequences that result from adopting the theory of cultural moral relativism. One of the
problematic consequences that result from adopting the theory of cultural moral relativism is that
people would not be able to determine if the customs of other cultures are morally inferior to the
customs of their own culture. This is problematic because people are inclined to criticize the customs
of other cultures so that they can determine whether their practices are right or wrong. By adopting

The Conquest Of New Spain Summary
Any student of history has come to recognize the fact that history is written by the victor and in lieu of
this, research becomes essential to uncover where the truth lies. The True History of the Conquest of
New Spain, so ironically named, is a personal account for historical events leading up to the conquest
of New Spain, formerly known as the City of Mexico. The author, Bernal Diaz, was a soldier of the
conquering army who composed the document well after the events took place sometime between
1552 and 1557. Though the document did provide insight in regards to the victor s perspective, it also
served as a tool to rewrite the account of the conquered people. From what we know, the author
Bernal Diaz Del Castillo, commonly referred to as Bernal Diaz, was a soldier of fortune. Coming from
a moderately poor background he embarked on several expeditions under the lead of multiple captains

This section highlights that history has created a false narrative depicting the natives as a victimized
people, which they were to some extent but only in the fashion that they did not possess the same

obtained by Spaniards prior to arrival and knowledge gained from observation, it would be remiss had
they not prepared for battle. This argument is not to be misconstrued in approving their actions; I do

Pros And Cons Of Populism
In 2004, Cas Mudde of University of Georgia referred to populism as a

Populists aim to unite the people against perceived corrupt dominant elite . Generally, populists define
themselves as people who are not afraid, to tell the truth. They feel free to criticize everything, from
Wall Street to Oval Office. There are mainly two types of populism: exclusive and inclusive. The
former one aims to deport refugees in Europe, fueled by racism and security fears. The latter opens up
to stigmatized groups, as Time puts it, the poor.
The world order seems to change with populism on the rise in Europe and US. There is an ongoing
disenchantment with mainstream parties and voters tend to shift towards right wing parties.

An Organization Running, And Generating Profits Essay
Regardless of the industry, keeping an organization running, and generating profits, can be a daunting
task especially if the market is currently dominated by large corporations. Roughly 60 to 80 percent of
new businesses end in failure, meaning that in a highly competitive market, it is imperative to keep in
control of factors easily monitored. There are several reasons that a company may fail to thrive in the
market and some, such as market conditions, are outside of anyone s control; however, many
businesses fail because of poorly managing finances. By hiring a financial consultant, an organization
improves the odds of navigating the unclear waters of the market, which can be unpredictable and can
turn on a moments notice. In the end, generating revenue is the primary goal of any organization
because if the company does not have funds available to operate, all of their others objectives fall to
the wayside.
Food is one of the most diverse industries since the tastes of each individual are unique, giving
companies more options product diversification. Recently, a company has developed a new alternative

apple, grade, orange, and pineapple. Introduced in Flordia, over the last two years, the growth of the
product and marketing techniques have increased significantly.

The Little Boy Bombs That Ended World War II
There are many factors that ended World War II; However, The bombs and the ship that dropped them
were some of the most important. These bombs were known as the Fat Man and Little Boy, and the
ship was the Boeing B 29 Superfortress Enola Gay.
The first bomb dropped in World War II was the Little Boy. The Little Boy bomb was a gun type
device, whose critical mass was achieved when a uranium projectile was fired into a uranium target
through a barrel. Both were in a subcritical state. The resulting uranium mass was composed of both
the projectile and the target going from a subcritical state to a critical state which, in turn, caused the
chain reaction to begin. The Little Boy bomb weighed nine thousand seven hundred pounds with a
length of ten feet and a diameter of twenty eight inches. The fuel used for the bomb was made up of
highly enriched uranium. The fuel was approximately one hundred forty pounds. The target case,
barrel, uranium projectile, and the other main parts of the Little Boy bomb were transported to Tinian
Island via the USS Indianapolis. The efficiency of this bomb was destitute. Roughly 1.38% of the
uranium fuel had actually fissioned in the bomb. The explosive force of the Little Boy was equal to
that of fifteen thousand tons of TNT. The use of the Little Boy bomb was to be dropped on the
Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The delivery of the bomb was by the B 29 Enola Gay

Issue Spotters Delta Tools, Inc., markets a product that under some circumstances is capable of
seriously injuring consumers. Does Delta owe an ethical duty to remove this product from the market,
even if the injuries result only from misuse? Why or why not?
I think Delta Tools, Inc. doesn t owe an ethical duty to remove the product from the market unless the
company doesn t warn its customers of the danger they can meet upon misuse of the product. If the
company takes all the measures to warn their customers of the danger of the product once it s misused,
customers have knowledge of the risk and voluntarily assume it. For example, the use of any
antibiotics with the alcohol can lead to many harmful processes and activities. ... Show more content

In addition, Brody and Crawford claimed that THC, in its March 19 and April 24 press releases,
materially misled them about THC s intention to sell the company. The district court granted the
defendant s motion to dismiss the claims. The plaintiffs appealed to the US Court of Appeal, Ninth
Circuit.
ISSUE Are Brody and Crawford the proper plaintiffs to sue THC for damages for violation of the
statute and rule¹ regarding the insider trading?
DECISION No. US Court of Appeal, Ninth circuit, affirmed the district court s decision to dismiss
Brody and Crawford s complaint for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.
REASON The Court noted that plaintiffs did not meet a contemporaneous trading requirement, a
judicially created standing requirement, which specified in Section 14(e) and Rule 14e 3 that the
plaintiffs must have traded in a company s stock at about the same time as the alleged insider. In
addition, the Court decided that the plaintiffs complaint must specify the reason or reasons why the
statements made by THC in its press releases were misleading. Brody and Crawford argued that in
order for statement not to be misleading, once disclosure is made, there is a duty to make it complete

Persuasive Essay On Society
People think of me as a mannequin. All show and no substance. It s not often that someone can say
that they have something in common with a celebrity; however, unfortunately I can. Brooke Shields,
the well known model turned actress that verbalized my thoughts, and I are alike in one way; both of
us have been molded into life size dummies. The object that best represents me is a mannequin. I have
discovered this through universal, personal and practical avenues of inquiry.
Firstly, we don t often think about how a life size dummy relates to us as humans or the impact they ve
had on our society as a whole; however, they play a major role in the way we view ourselves as
individuals and function as a collective society. We preach about how precious individuality is, but
intentionally or not, we often strive to become identical to the perceptions of perfection in society. As
a matter of fact, mannequins are often perceived as a universal image of perfection due to their
figures, the various on trend outfits they display, and sometimes even the human like faces painted
onto them. As young children, whenever we go shopping with our parents we would stumble across
displays that would showcase little boys and girls with cool , new outfits and toys and we would
attempt to convince our parents to buy them. As we get into our teen years, often as girls, we see the
mannequins as constant reminders of what we strive to be based on whatever the ideal body type may

Branding and Its Dangers and Advantages.

a. Does every company need to brand itself and its products as these quotes above suggest?
b. What added dangers /advantages are brought about by branding in a global marketplace?

Brands have existed since forever. In a time before fences were used in ranching to keep one s cattle

The ability to gain brand premium leads to higher profitability, which in turn leads to the ability to
further increase branding efforts. If this cycle continues effectively, power brands like Nike, Coke, and
Mc Donald s are created.
Branding is designed to increase a firm s profitability by increasing the premium associated with the
pricing of a good or service, and or by increasing the sales of a product over and above those sales that
would have occurred through standard marketing efforts. However the biggest incentive to brand is
that the cost of branding declines over a period over a period of time. In the short term the cost of
branded good is more that non branded goods but over a period of time these costs decline and the
premium earned from branding is much higher. Thus it can be said that it s much easier to maintain a
brand (reputation) than to build one up. One of the reasons for declining costs could be increase in
trust of the consumer. The fact that branding costs decline overtime earns a company brand equity .
Brand Equity is a function of both the intensity of the branding efforts and the amount of branding
saturation that occurs. So a company may be willing to brand and incur higher initial opportunity
costs, and lower expected profits, in order to achieve a greater stream of profits in the future. In such a
dynamic sense, there is also Brand risk and uncertainty over branding. To most brand managers

Ordinary Life In Man s Search For Meaning
In Man s Search for Meaning, Viktor E. Frankl recounts the exceptionally individual story of his
experience as a detainee in an inhumane imprisonment amid the Holocaust. He displays this story as a
paper in which he shares his contentions and examination as a specialist and therapist and also a

the story. This area contains a rundown of Man s Search. Frankl starts his book by expressing that his
motivation in composing the book is not to present certainties and subtle elements of the Holocaust,
however to give an individual record of the ordinary life of a detainee living in a death camp. He
expresses, This story is not worried with the colossal detestations, which have as of now been
portrayed regularly enough (however less frequently accepted), yet... it will attempt to answer this

New Federalism Essay
Two rudimentary stratums exist in the U.S legal system: state law and federal law. Federal laws apply
to the entire nation, whereas state laws affect only said states. Currently, the age of New Federalism, is
upon the U.S. This can be traced back to Nixon in the late 1960s. The era of New Federalism is
described as the transfer of powers from the federal government back to the states. This transfer of
powers seems to be outweighed by the initial power of the federal government when assessed closely.
First, let s get down to the facts. After the tragedy of 9/11, Homeland Security was implemented.
Around fifty billion U.S. federal dollars are being provided to state/local governments yearly to meet
Homeland Security requirements. The president and congress work together to form a budget that

educate government officials on what each sector can expect from the others. FEMA (Federal

federal, state, and local governments. Having one main correspondence at the federal level eases the
distribution of power to the states and local authorities. FEMA recently asked state and local
authorities for input on how it should spend $3.5 billion. A meeting took place with over fifty
representatives in first responder positions. Resulting, the weight of mobility ultimately falls to the

Isolation And Characterization Of Human Umbilical Cord...
Summary of:
Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with
Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow,
skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been shown
to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types including
bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited by BM MSC is
their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been utilized to enhance
efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC are gathered using painful
procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article investigates the umbilical
cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this manner with BM MSC.
Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells from the single vein found on
the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this group. A new method involving
the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method was then compared to the
traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. The research group did this by
dicing the cord into 1 2 mm fragments and enzymatically digesting said fragments in collagenase and
trypsin. The cell suspension was then filtered and cultured

Economic Impact of Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering (GE) is a recently developed technology that allows the alteration of the genetic
make up of living organisms. This technology allows scientists not only to exchange genes from
members of the same species, which is what farmers and nature has been doing through out history,
but also the exchange of genes between completely separate species. For example genetic engendering
allows scientists to insert the genes from a fish into a tomato, something that can never happen in
nature. Many in the biotechnology industry claim that the recent advancements in this field of research
will help solve many of the problems developing countries face. These claims have led to a massive

The costs of GE seeds are too high for farmers from developing countries to implement their usage.
The costs of implementing this technology will not be offset by the benefits that farmers in the US
have received. Not only will farmers lose money, but unemployment, which is already a problem in
many developing nations, will increase, as farmers need to hire less labor to produce the same amount
of crops.
The high initial cost of purchasing GE seeds makes the technology more difficult to implement by
poor farmers in less developed countries. As happened during the green revolution these small farmers
would be forced to take out loans to buy this new technology, and if the technology does not deliver
higher profits these farmers may lose their land.
Even if a technology was developed that would bring the cost of production down to or below that of
existing production cost, there is the issue of consumer preference. The increasing debate over genetic
engineering has created a substantial difference in perception of the risks and benefits involved with
GE food. Governments around the world, most notably members of the European Union have places
restrictions and bans on many GMO products. Many of these countries are considering putting labels
on products with GMO ingredients. Considering that many developing countries economies are highly
dependant on agricultural export,

The Adventure Of The Cardboard Box By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
1. The Adventure of the Cardboard Box by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a fictional short story. There are
no other possible genres this story could fall into. 2. The exposition of the story is when Watson sets
the stage by describing the weather and what he and his companion, Holmes, were doing. According
to Watson, It was a blazing hot day in August. Baker Street was like an oven, and the glare of the
sunlight upon the yellow brickwork of the house across the road was painful to the eye. Watson was
sitting at a desk reading the newspaper; while Holmes was lying on the couch reading a letter he had
received that morning. Watson became dissatisfied with paper and tossed it aside while Sherlock read
his thoughts. Holmes astounded Watson by knowing exactly what he was thinking just by his facial
features, eyes, and slight movements. After Holmes explained how he knew what Watson was
thinking, Watson said, And now that you have explained it, I confess that I am as amazed as before. 3.
But I have in my hands here a little problem which may prove to be more difficult of solution than my
small essay I thought reading. Have you observed in the paper a short paragraph referring to the
remarkable contents of a packet sent through the post to Miss Cushing, of Cross Street, Croydon?
Those particular lines are the start of the rising action in this short story because they present the
problem, which the characters must solve. Watson then goes on to read the article in the newspaper

What Christians Mean When They Refer to Jesus as Lord
When we think of the name Lord as Christians we think of God, as he is powerful, almighty and great.
Jesus however was a human and to be called Lord is very special because no one in history has been
called that before. As Christians we would say the name Lord means miracle worker, ruler and
faithful. Jesus was mainly all these things as he performed many miracles in his life which many
different types of people benefited from which are recorded in the Gospels. Many Jews thought of
Jesus as a lord because he helped many of them; outcasts, Romans, women and the rich ands poor and
many others he helped in his life on Earth. Jesus truly was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Jesus also had the power over death, which is also referred to in the Synoptic Gospels in the story of
Raising of Lazarus . When Jesus was leaving Judea he was told of one of his dear friend being ill but
was already dead, they returned to Judea even though many people attacked Jesus before in this city.
Him and his followers went to Lazarus tomb and Jesus said, Come out Lazarus , from the darkness
emerged a man wrapped in grave clothes, they untied him and there was Lazarus standing as if
nothing was wrong.
[IMAGE]As Jesus was a Jew he helped many people of his religion but didn t believe entirely that his
religion was right. In Mark s Gospel a man named Jarius who was a leader of a Synagogue in the area
confronted Jesus, he said his daughter was dying and needed help, Jesus followed him to his house
where his daughter was resting. Jesus sat by the girl and said you are only sleeping, wake up child .
The girl awoke and started walking around the room. If Jesus has the power over death he must be a
man that we can call Lord as Christians.
Jesus helped many other people with his miracle powers, even women which was a strange thing in
those times as women were thought of as unequal to men and should not be treated the same. He

Characteristics of Business Leadership
Characteristics of Business Leadership
Steve Jobs, the visionary co founder of Apple who helped usher in the era of personal computers and
then led a cultural transformation in the way music, movies and mobile communications were
experienced in the digital age. Jobs mastered digital technology and capitalized on his intuitive
marketing sense. He largely came to define the personal computer industry and an array of digital
consumer and entertainment businesses centered on the Internet. Coming on the scene just as
computing began to move beyond the walls of research laboratories and corporations in the 1970s, Mr.
Jobs saw that computing was becoming personal, that it could do more than crunch numbers and solve
scientific and business problems and that it could even be a force for social and economic change. And
at a time when hobbyist computers were boxy wooden affairs with metal chassis, he designed a
machine that was a sleek, low slung plastic package intended for the den or the kitchen. He was
offering not just products but a digital lifestyle (Apple s Visionary Redefined Digital Age, 2011).
Steve Jobs was raised in a neighborhood of engineers who worked on electronics and other gadgets in
their garages on weekends. This fashioned his interest in the field as he grew up. When he was 13, he
met one the most important people in his life, Stephen Wozniak. Wozniak was an electronics wiz kid,
and, like Steve, was a persistent prankster. Five years later, Steve Jobs enrolled

women to get out of this dirty situation. Therefore every country should educate their female

and do not have to become slave of the men. Also heavy fines should be imposed to those who
sexually abuse, violate and harass women.

Religion Is Not A Single Term
A term or more even a specific aspect in life, which is believed to be existent during the start of the

is a question that is universal, meaning many different religions have a variety of stories for these

an individual s belief toward his/her religion. However, the basic ideology of religion is the belief in
sacred objects such as Gods and supernatural beings. These beliefs are not just simply a belief. It is a

Hamlet Film Vs Film Essay
Over the course of the past fifty years there have been many cinematic productions of Shakespeare s
Hamlet, some of which remain true to the text while others take greater liberties with the original
format. Director Kenneth Branagh s 1996 production of Hamlet was true to Shakespeare s work in that
the film s dialogue was delivered word or word as it is presented in the text. In contrast, Franco
Zeffirelli conducted his 1990 production of Hamlet in a much more liberal direction in which lines,
scenes and characters were omitted from the film. I argue that from the perspective of an individual

Both the first and the third of the aforementioned changes that Zeffirelli made to the film have a minor
impact on the audience s understanding of the underlying themes that exist throughout the play.
In act 3 scene 3 Claudius performs his soliloquy which acts like a window into the true nature of
Claudius guilt. This excerpt of the play is the first time we encounter Claudius confess blame for the
crime against his brother. This self confession further demonstrates the guilt that Claudius exhibits in
act 3 scene 2 when Claudius flees the theater after Hamlet arranges a play reenacting the events of his
father s murder. As Claudius states on line 56, May one be pardoned and retain th offense? This line
depicts the true nature of Claudius guilt: He does not regret his actions, for his actions have granted
him My crown, mine own ambition and my queen. (3.2.55) Claudius is content with his gains, his
only guilt stems from the fact that he believes he will not go to heaven because of his actions.
Zeffirelli as opposed to Branagh shortens this soliloquy which causes a loss of perception into the
complex role that guilt plays throughout the story.
Like the presence of the theme of guilt, the film also neglects the theme of war. The character of
Fortinbras is important because his invasion of Poland brings forth the literal act of war, which is a

The idea for paying for goods and services electronically is not a new one. The search for more

our concept of money. This revolution is known as electronic commerce, which is the symbiotic
integration of communications, data management, and security capabilities to allow business

As the number of people utilizing the internet increases, the risk of security violations increases with
it. It is true that sometimes the cost of protecting the network outweighs the cost of just leaving it
unprotected, but it is undeniable that the cost of protecting the network becomes nontrivial as more
services such as electronic wallets become available. Some of the threats that stimulated the upsurge
for people with the lack of security were compromise of clients financial details (credit card numbers,
etc) which may result in the unauthorized transfer of funds, development of a method of obtaining the
goods or services without making the appropriate payment and other methods permitting the
unauthorized transfer of funds. Regardless of how a payments system is constructed these attacks are
always more or less practical although some techniques can virtually eliminate the risk of one or
another.
The major reason electronic wallets has not yet taken off to its full potential is because, until recently,
there has not been a readily available, widely deployed foolproof way of preventing fraud and theft of
sensitive financial information.
Implementing security involves assessing the possible threats to one s network, servers and
information. The goal would be to then attempt to minimize the threat as much as possible without
making it difficult for legitimate users to access the information.

Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques
Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques
Zachary Fisher
Even with the advanced state of forensic sciences some surfaces and circumstances prove difficult to
successfully lift, or even detect, fingerprints from. There are now several methods of enhancing latent
fingerprints for collection. These methods use chemicals, light sources and other techniques to
enhance latent ridge marks on materials that prove difficult to successfully identify and lift prints
from. These surfaces include certain types of metals, porous surfaces, and certain kinds of paper. We
will discuss three types of latent finger print enhancement that are relatively new or still in the
beginning stages of testing, two chemical, elctrochromism and yellow ... Show more content on

Lastly, reliable print lifting and identifying are necessary because fingerprints are often the only way
to tie a perpetrator to the crime itself.
Electrochromism is a relatively newly discovered method that allows for the capturing of a negative
image of a fingerprint on a metal surface. The material poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) is applied to
the area that is being searched, once applied a charge is applied to the material that causes a shift in
color that allows for the print to be identified with great detail. (Brodie) Curcumin, yellow 3, can be
used to develop latent prints that are otherwise difficult to lift useful prints from using other traditional
methods, particularly metal and hard plastics. Currently basic violet 3 and solvent black 3 are used but
pose issues as solvent black 3 is a carcinogen and must be used in laboratory conditions and basic
violet can be difficult to see on many surfaces. Yellow 3 naturally occurs in the popular Indian spice
turmeric and is commonly used as a natural food coloring. When used as a reagent in fingerprint
collection it targets the non water soluble material with the fingerprint residue, and can be used on
dark surfaces in place of solvent black 3 due to its naturally bright color. Due to the fact that it targets
the non water soluble material it can even be used to retrieve prints

Assess the View That Appeasement Was the Only Realistic...
Assess the view that appeasement was the only realistic option for British policy towards Germany
between 1936 and 1938 The erosion of Neville Chamberlain s# reputation was brought about quickly
as his policy of appeasement failed to prevent WW2. The Cato# collective branded him as a criminal
in the Guilty men #. Churchill# further reinforced this view telling the commons England has been
offered a choice between war and shame. She has chosen shame, and will get war. #. These more
orthodox views starkly contrast the reactions of the public and media pre war. Hailed as a hero Most

The peace ballot is the most valuable source as it is simply so extensive and balances any anomalous
results, compared to say, 400 Oxford students. Their representation is also useful as it the public s
opinion just before the Rhineland re occupation. So in this case shows that there was already a
majority in favour for using force, if necessary, even though nothing like the Rhine had happened yet.
Between 1936 and 1938 the public s sentiment seemed to change. While 5,000 supporters gathered
outside 10 Downing street for Chamberlain, 16,000 were demonstrating at Trafalgar Square, after
Munich. The mass media reported the supporters but not the protesters. This bias which is also shown
to journalists such as Norman Ebbut could be the reason why public opinion started to sway on such a
scale, so late. If Chamberlain did have public support, other options to appeasement would have been
more realistic. The censorship of Ebbut s writings and his withdrawl from Berlin, which is
reciprocated through the majority of mass media, is an important source as it would mean that
Baldwin and Chamberlain would not have the public support to rearm in the early to mid part of the
30 s. Disproving this, though, Sir Walter Citrine# in 1935 : There is no alternative left to us now but
the applying of sanctions, including the possibility of War .#As he is head of the TUC# it could be

Ethics In The Informant
The Informant will be analyzed using business knowledge regarding corporate social responsibility,
professionalism and ethics as well as good corporate governance. The use of the theory under these
topics in accordance to the operations of ADM will enable the determination of whether ADM is
operating effectively or not and whether this company s business processes are legal and ethical or
not. A few strategies will then be suggested to ADM where possible.
STORYLINE OF THE INFORMANT:
The Informant is a biographical comedy crime film which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and
released on the 18th of September 2009. Matt Damon stars as the informant as given by the title of the
movie joined by other stars including Joel McHale, Scott Bakula and Melanie Lynskey.
This film represents Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon) as an employee who is a whistle blower regarding
the lysine price fixing scheme. Mark worked for a company called Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). In

The aim is to make a profit while considering the interests and wellbeing of all stakeholders in the
business. A business that is effective and maintains ethical leadership is considered to have superb
corporate governance. Management should lead the business to achieving sustainable economic, social
and environmental performances known as the triple bottom line principle.
Primary characteristics of good corporate governance includes transparency, accountability and
integrity. Individuals in ADM do display these qualities however, these qualities are displayed to a
certain extent which then results in these qualities being used for self gain. ADM executives like Mark
Whitacre are transparent regarding the decisions made in ADM but he eventually gives up this quality
once he has gained the support of the FBI agent which would decrease the risk of him being found

Classroom Oral Interaction
Classroom oral interaction plays an important role in language classroom.
Besides, it gives more dynamics to the teaching learning process, especially when students actively
participate. This verbal interaction is realized in oral activities, like conversations. It is one of the
primary means by which learning is accomplished in classroom (Hall, 2003). It shows that the
classroom oral interaction is a reflection of the learning process.
Moreover, language classroom interaction provides the facility for the students to use the target
language they possess in real life exchange (Rivers cited in Tuan and Nhu, 2010). Hence, through the
oral interaction the teacher can provide opportunities to the students to use the target language orally

The study revealed that the classroom oral interaction lacked of students participation in giving
initiation and follow up. It can be seen from the following chart.

Chart 1.1.IRF Pattern (Juniarti, 2010)
To conclude, the previous study described above reveals that the participations of the students are
dominated by their role as the responder.
Meanwhile, they missed their chance to participate in giving initiation and followup. Also, the fact
that teachers are still dominant in interactions indicates that learning process seems to be teacher
centered.
Likewise, during the PPL program (2011), the same situation was found in some English classes in
SMP 47 where students participated only to respond to the teacher s initiations. The question is are the
students interpersonal functions helpful as means to improve their language? If no, the oral interaction
in the classroom will be useless since it doesn t support the participants, the teacher and students, to
reach the goal of the learning process. This is another reason why the students participation in
classroom oral interaction is important to

Pica Essay
The definition of Pica is a term that is refers to ingesting, cravings or argues of substances that are not
foods items. Some of the most common items indigested by patients with pica are dirt, sand, clay,
glue, ice, chalk, beeswax, hair, and laundry starch. The reason for patients having this cravings is
because the patient is diagnosed with a nutritional deficiency state, such as iron deficiency like anemia
and a number of many other physiological disturbances in humans brains it have been associated with
decreased in balance of the dopamine in the brain system. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter; a chemical
that helps to relay the transmission of nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another. Association like
this one has led some researchers to think that there may be a connection between abnormal low levels
of dopamine in the brain and develop pica disorder. No specific understanding of biochemical
disorders have been known, however, we can check for risk factors for pica some examples; I found
the following: Brain damage, Parental child psychopathology, Pregnancy, Family disorganization,
Environmental deprivation, Epilepsy, Mental retardation, Pervasive developmental disorders. The pica
disorder was named after a bird that s call the magpie, a species of a bird that feeds on whatever it can
find. When making a diagnosis for a patient with pica it requires that the patient must persist in eating
nonfood substances for at least a month or two, some behaviors that are

Anne Frank
The Diary of a Young Girl, written by Anne Frank herself, is a moving story of Anne s feelings,
thoughts, and observations throughout World War II. When I decided to read The Diary of a Young
Girl, I expected it to be mainly about the war, concentration camps, and the way the whole outside
world has dealt with the war. In actuality, the book was about the days and nights Anne Frank
experienced living in the secret annex. This made the book better because it opened my eyes to the
reality that Anne was a real person just like me. She had feelings, thoughts, friends, and family. Anne
was just an ordinary girl who went through something extraordinary. Having a great interest in WWII,
I have read many books about the topic. This one, however, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She would discuss places with such passion and detail that it felt like you were there with her looking
at the same thing. When she talked about her new secret annex I felt like I was walking the halls with
her. At one point in the annex she talked about how the doorways are low, so they would nail wool and
cloth to the tops of the doorways so that they would stop getting bruises on their foreheads. This made
me laugh. I pictured tall and lanky Otto Frank banging his head on the doorway. Also, Anne was just
talking about her favorite fountain pen for a page and I could tell you way more than you would need
to know about it. The whole book Anne talks with such detail, it is like you can see

The Holocaust And The Devil s Arithmetic
Shots went off and dead bodies were seen one by one. Nonstop screams haunted little ones and
screams soon became sounds that everybody got used too. The estimated amount of Jewish casualties
in the Holocaust was 6 million Jews. The
German Chancellor Adolf Hitler was responsible for the deaths and traumatic experiences that took
over the Jewish population. Through interviews of holocaust survivors and book such as The Devil s
Arithmetic and The Boy In The Striped Pajamas you see that finding light in the darkness is not
impossible.
The Devil s Arithmetic took a jewish girl who was born after the holocaust into the past where she
experienced the horrific event. Hannah gets taken back in time and is now called Chaya by her aunt

Quantitative Research Critique: Responsibilities of Public School Nurses
Nursing has many roles, allowing for a diverse field to choose from upon graduation. One of those
choices is the responsibility of a school nurse and consequently that of the entire population of the
public school for which he/she works. School Nurses in New Jersey: A Quantitative Inquiry on Roles
and Responsibilities by Cheryl A. Krause Parello and Kimika Samms will show how those
responsibilities have grown as it seeks to further previous research. Disease processes for children

chronic diseases present and nursing procedures administered in school) could be a question.
Hypothesis/Hypotheses Since the steady increase of students with chronic illnesses in public schools,
there has been an increase in the roles and responsibilities of school nurses (Krause Parello amp;
Kimika, 2010). This study looks to build upon other studies, but as well, it does look to prove this.
Study Variables The independent variables in this study are the nurses. With the study design being
non experimental, however, no manipulation takes place. The research is only being replicated exactly
as it was and so we would not expect to see any dependent study variables (Burns amp; Grove, 2011).
Conceptual Model/Theoretical Framework Betty Neuman s conceptual model of nursing is concerned
with the person as a whole and stresses prevention. She brought us primary, secondary, and tertiary
prevention (Nursing Theories, 2011). It is noted through the study of the health promotion/disease
prevention activities that the schools of New Jersey are required to have a wellness plan and that the
nurses agree to the importance of prevention of disease by early health screening (Krause Parello amp;
Kimika, 2010).
Review of Related Literature Through the literature review, it became apparent that over the past few
years the roles and responsibilities of nurses has increased even further; this study sought to bring that
research current and encourage school nurses

  • 3. Terrorist Attacks On The United States September 11th, 2001, alleged Al Qaeda members attacked the United States of America with four passenger planes, Boeing 757s. Two planes flew into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, one plane flew into the Pentagon, and the remaining plane was possibly targeting the White House but was unsuccessful. People all over America felt an utter shock and disbelief after this tragic event as people demanded answers. After the terrorist attacks, a portion of Americans started to believe in conspiracies proving the government was behind it all. To add, Americans also believed that the U.S. government knew in advance of the terrorist attacks on September 11th due to the time between the attacks and the Bush administration s attempt to investigate, the National Security Association s lack of investigation of suspicious phone calls, and the odd collapse of World Trade Center Seven. However, the government tried to counter attack with the points that Al Qaeda was behind the attacks on September 11th, Khalid Mohammed was the mastermind behind September 11th, and that debris hit World Trade Center Seven. After the tragedy, the U.S. government believed that Al Qaeda hijacked the planes used in the attacks. During investigations after the attacks, the FBI found a copy of the Koran the holy book of Islam and pilot manuals in a hijacker s car at the Logan International Airport in Boston prior to the attacks. • 4. Considering Learning About The World s Complications Essay Considering learning about the world s complications is quite strenuous, it is only realistic that thirst for environmental action arise. When taking a break and getting a bottle of water, another call to action is found in the style of carbon dioxide discharge reduction via water bottles. Not partaking in the sales of plastic water bottles and instead investing in a reusable bottle can dramatically decrease the carbon emissions of plastic bottle manufacturers. A special kind of plastic called polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is melted down to manufacture water bottles, and the process of making the material itself involves producing around 3 tons of carbon dioxide for every ton of PET made. Annually, this creates more than 2.6 billion tons of CO2 emissions just from the bottled water industry ( Bottled water and energy factsheet, 2007). Along with the PET engineering emissions, the oil burned to produce water bottles releases even more C02. It takes around 3.4 megajoules of energy to make a typical one liter (33 ounce) plastic bottle, cap, and packaging. Making enough PET to bottle America s yearly quota of water requires more than 106 billion megajoules of energy. Because a barrel of oil contains around 6,000 megajoules, the Pacific Institute figures more than 17 million barrels of oil were needed to produce the nation s water bottles ( Bottled water and energy factsheet, 2007). Because a barrel of oil, when burned, releases almost 700 lbs. of C02, the environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Tommy John Research Paper Tommy John Surgery Tommy John surgery, or more well known as ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, is a surgery in which a ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with a ligament from elsewhere in the body. This replacement ligament is usually taken from the forearm, hamstring, or foot of the patient. This ligament is needed for everyday things such as twisting a doorknob. This injury is usually seen in professional baseball pitchers because of the daily repetitive throwing and because of violent motions from throwing a baseball. RA Dickey was born without a UCL and pitches in the majors. Doctors still do not know how he can do this because you should not be able to do anything this way. A torn elbow ligament was the most common cause of The Dead Arm Injury era, the 20th century. This was uncommon before this time. Long before then, because of the lack of research on the injury, this gave pitcher s a 1 in 100 chance of returning and being able to pitch. Until in 1974 Dr. Frank Jobe developed a procedure for pitcher Tommy John (who the surgery was named after). With vivid research of the ligaments inside the medial elbow he developed a way to make the elbow back to normal strength or in some cases much more stronger. This surgery consisted of the new tendon being implanted and woven in a figure eight pattern through holes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, despite the tombs or monuments being visible within the landscape there is still this separation between the dead and the living. Examples of such tombs can be found from Neolithic monuments in Europe. There are three types of monuments, the first being a dolmen where communal burials occurred, and the site was covered with rough boulders and one flat one on top. These dolmens evolved with the settlements and were engineered throughout time but they stayed the center of ritual landscape. Wireless Mess And Ad Hoc Network Study And Challenges WIRELESS MESS AD HOC NETWORK STUDY AND CHALLENGES ANKUSH SHARMA (Lecturer in Computer Application Department) (Aryabhatta International College of Technical Education, Ajmer) Email Abstract: In the recent time, there will be an increasing need to provide application platforms such as internet deployment for areas without infrastructure, wireless video streaming between moving objects, data exchange between office equipment etc. These applications can be solved with the help of wireless ad hoc networks that can be realized e.g., with Wi Fi protocols. The question arises, what theoretical throughput different wireless standards can achieve, and how much the throughput will decrease when data has to be transferred over several hops. This is a technology that enables un tethered wireless networking environments where there is no wired or cellular infrastructure. Wireless Ad hoc Networks since then is a fast developing research area with a vast spectrum of applications. Wireless sensor network systems enable the reliable monitoring of a variety of environments for both civil and military applications This paper provides an overview of wireless technologies which can be used in ad hoc scenarios, their limitations and applications involved in this mechanism. • 13. The Theory Of Cultural Moral Relativism Michael Atefi Professor Walker Phil 1020 29 September 2015 First Exam 1.) The theory of cultural moral relativism is based on the beliefs that it is arrogant to judge the moral codes of other cultures and that people should be tolerant towards the practices of other cultures (Rachels 19). By holding these beliefs, the theory implies that all cultures are equal and should be treated as such. Cultural moral relativism is also based on the idea that there is no universal truth in ethics (Rachels 18). If a certain standard exists in a society, that standard is right (at least in that society). The only way that a person can be right is if they follow the moral codes of the society that they are apart of (Rachels 22). Moral codes vary from culture to culture. Therefore, the metaphysical assumptions and metaethical implications of cultural moral relativism are that morality is relative and there is no such thing as objective moral facts. According to James Rachels, there are three problematic consequences that result from adopting the theory of cultural moral relativism. One of the problematic consequences that result from adopting the theory of cultural moral relativism is that people would not be able to determine if the customs of other cultures are morally inferior to the customs of their own culture. This is problematic because people are inclined to criticize the customs of other cultures so that they can determine whether their practices are right or wrong. By adopting ... The Conquest Of New Spain Summary Any student of history has come to recognize the fact that history is written by the victor and in lieu of this, research becomes essential to uncover where the truth lies. The True History of the Conquest of New Spain, so ironically named, is a personal account for historical events leading up to the conquest of New Spain, formerly known as the City of Mexico. The author, Bernal Diaz, was a soldier of the conquering army who composed the document well after the events took place sometime between 1552 and 1557. Though the document did provide insight in regards to the victor s perspective, it also served as a tool to rewrite the account of the conquered people. Both the first and the third of the aforementioned changes that Zeffirelli made to the film have a minor impact on the audience s understanding of the underlying themes that exist throughout the play. In act 3 scene 3 Claudius performs his soliloquy which acts like a window into the true nature of Claudius guilt. This excerpt of the play is the first time we encounter Claudius confess blame for the crime against his brother. This self confession further demonstrates the guilt that Claudius exhibits in act 3 scene 2 when Claudius flees the theater after Hamlet arranges a play reenacting the events of his father s murder. As Claudius states on line 56, May one be pardoned and retain th offense? This line depicts the true nature of Claudius guilt: He does not regret his actions, for his actions have granted him My crown, mine own ambition and my queen. (3.2.55) Claudius is content with his gains, his only guilt stems from the fact that he believes he will not go to heaven because of his actions. Zeffirelli as opposed to Branagh shortens this soliloquy which causes a loss of perception into the complex role that guilt plays throughout the story. Like the presence of the theme of guilt, the film also neglects the theme of war. The character of Fortinbras is important because his invasion of Poland brings forth the literal act of war, which is a representation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Electronic Commerce Electronic Wallets are Secure Introduction The idea for paying for goods and services electronically is not a new one. The search for more efficient ways of doing business is now driving another revolution in the conduct of business and in our concept of money. This revolution is known as electronic commerce, which is the symbiotic integration of communications, data management, and security capabilities to allow business applications within different organizations to automatically exchange information related to the sale of goods and services. With the advent of the electronic age the concept of value was transferred to plastic cards with a magnetic stripe which securely carried personal account information. These cards are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the number of people utilizing the internet increases, the risk of security violations increases with it. It is true that sometimes the cost of protecting the network outweighs the cost of just leaving it unprotected, but it is undeniable that the cost of protecting the network becomes nontrivial as more services such as electronic wallets become available. Some of the threats that stimulated the upsurge for people with the lack of security were compromise of clients financial details (credit card numbers, etc) which may result in the unauthorized transfer of funds, development of a method of obtaining the goods or services without making the appropriate payment and other methods permitting the unauthorized transfer of funds. Regardless of how a payments system is constructed these attacks are always more or less practical although some techniques can virtually eliminate the risk of one or another. The major reason electronic wallets has not yet taken off to its full potential is because, until recently, there has not been a readily available, widely deployed foolproof way of preventing fraud and theft of sensitive financial information. Implementing security involves assessing the possible threats to one s network, servers and information. The goal would be to then attempt to minimize the threat as much as possible without making it difficult for legitimate users to access the information. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As part of the experience, I was requested to conduct a research on accessibility and affordability of health foods in low income population of Tampa Bay area. The research was conducted for the period of two months. The details about the research study are described below. It has been divided in 7 sections as follows: 1. Background 2. Methods 3. Results 4. Discussion 5. Limitations 6. Conclusions 7. References 1. Background Food security is a basic human right, which is essential for life. It exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for a healthy and active lifestyle [Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), 1996]. Food insecurity at household level can be referred to not having sufficient food; experiencing hunger as a result of running out of food and being unable to afford more; eating a poor quality diet as a result of limited food options; anxiety about acquiring food; or having to rely on food relief (Rychetnik et al, 2003). At community level, food security also depends on the availability and affordability of a variety of food items sold through retail and other food resources [United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 2015a]. Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques Zachary Fisher Even with the advanced state of forensic sciences some surfaces and circumstances prove difficult to successfully lift, or even detect, fingerprints from. There are now several methods of enhancing latent fingerprints for collection. These methods use chemicals, light sources and other techniques to enhance latent ridge marks on materials that prove difficult to successfully identify and lift prints from. These surfaces include certain types of metals, porous surfaces, and certain kinds of paper. We will discuss three types of latent finger print enhancement that are relatively new or still in the beginning stages of testing, two chemical, elctrochromism and yellow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, reliable print lifting and identifying are necessary because fingerprints are often the only way to tie a perpetrator to the crime itself. Electrochromism is a relatively newly discovered method that allows for the capturing of a negative image of a fingerprint on a metal surface. The material poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) is applied to the area that is being searched, once applied a charge is applied to the material that causes a shift in color that allows for the print to be identified with great detail. (Brodie) Curcumin, yellow 3, can be used to develop latent prints that are otherwise difficult to lift useful prints from using other traditional methods, particularly metal and hard plastics. Currently basic violet 3 and solvent black 3 are used but pose issues as solvent black 3 is a carcinogen and must be used in laboratory conditions and basic violet can be difficult to see on many surfaces. Yellow 3 naturally occurs in the popular Indian spice turmeric and is commonly used as a natural food coloring. When used as a reagent in fingerprint collection it targets the non water soluble material with the fingerprint residue, and can be used on dark surfaces in place of solvent black 3 due to its naturally bright color. Due to the fact that it targets the non water soluble material it can even be used to retrieve prints ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Between 1936 and 1938 the public s sentiment seemed to change. While 5,000 supporters gathered outside 10 Downing street for Chamberlain, 16,000 were demonstrating at Trafalgar Square, after Munich. The mass media reported the supporters but not the protesters. This bias which is also shown to journalists such as Norman Ebbut could be the reason why public opinion started to sway on such a scale, so late. If Chamberlain did have public support, other options to appeasement would have been more realistic. The censorship of Ebbut s writings and his withdrawl from Berlin, which is reciprocated through the majority of mass media, is an important source as it would mean that Baldwin and Chamberlain would not have the public support to rearm in the early to mid part of the 30 s. Besides, it gives more dynamics to the teaching learning process, especially when students actively participate. This verbal interaction is realized in oral activities, like conversations. It is one of the primary means by which learning is accomplished in classroom (Hall, 2003). It shows that the classroom oral interaction is a reflection of the learning process. Meanwhile, they missed their chance to participate in giving initiation and followup. Also, the fact that teachers are still dominant in interactions indicates that learning process seems to be teacher centered. Likewise, during the PPL program (2011), the same situation was found in some English classes in SMP 47 where students participated only to respond to the teacher s initiations. The question is are the students interpersonal functions helpful as means to improve their language? Some of the most common items indigested by patients with pica are dirt, sand, clay, glue, ice, chalk, beeswax, hair, and laundry starch. The reason for patients having this cravings is because the patient is diagnosed with a nutritional deficiency state, such as iron deficiency like anemia and a number of many other physiological disturbances in humans brains it have been associated with decreased in balance of the dopamine in the brain system. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter; a chemical that helps to relay the transmission of nerve impulses from one nerve cell to another. Hypothesis/Hypotheses Since the steady increase of students with chronic illnesses in public schools, there has been an increase in the roles and responsibilities of school nurses (Krause Parello amp; Kimika, 2010). This study looks to build upon other studies, but as well, it does look to prove this. Study Variables The independent variables in this study are the nurses. With the study design being non experimental, however, no manipulation takes place. The research is only being replicated exactly as it was and so we would not expect to see any dependent study variables (Burns amp; Grove, 2011). She brought us primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention (Nursing Theories, 2011). It is noted through the study of the health promotion/disease prevention activities that the schools of New Jersey are required to have a wellness plan and that the nurses agree to the importance of prevention of disease by early health screening (Krause Parello amp; Kimika, 2010).
