My Experience At My Church
Have you ever felt like you were getting called upon to do something? I ve experienced this after
my dad passed away. I felt God calling me to serve my church. I started to become more active in
my church s faithful followers group. I felt God come into my life. I got the chance to go on this
amazing tripthat changed my life around.
I was sitting in my confirmation class on Sunday afternoon, when my teacher, Melanie, was talking
about all the upcoming events. She had an eye catching video about the National Catholic Youth
Conference or NCYC. The group from two years about created the video. They went into detail of
what we d get out of the trip. The thing that stuck out the most was the unique feeling of God s
presents. It was time to pay for our spot on this trip. The cost was $50, so you would have a seat
on the bus. This frightened me because I didn t know if I wanted to go for sure. I was going to
be around 200,000 other people, only seven being ones from my church. Preparing for this trip
was time consuming. We had to dedicate all our free time this summer to setting up fundraisers.
The trip was $510 per person. Our fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and
50/50 tickets. Also there were people who would donate so they could get a free pancake
breakfast out of the deal. We had meetings on top of meetings. We had to think of every possible

Calorimetry Lab Calorimetry is the science of measuring the change in heat absorbed or released
during a chemical reaction. The change in heat can tell us if the reaction is either exothermic it
released or heat into surroundings, or endothermic it absorbed heat from surroundings. The device
used to measure calorimetry is a calorimeter. A calorimeter can range from very expensive lab
ones to coffee styrofoam cups but they are all tightly sealed in order to prevent heatfrom escaping.
In order to measure the heats of reactions, add the reactants into the calorimeter and measure the
difference between the initial and final temperature. The temperature difference helps us calculate
the heat released or absorbed by the reaction. The equation for calorimetry is q=mc(О”T). О”T is
the temperature change, m is the mass, c is the specific heat capacity of the solution, and q is the
heat transfer. Given that the experiment is operated under constant pressure in the lab, the
temperature change is due to the enthalpy of the reaction, therefore the heat of the reaction can be

Born circa 469 until 399 B.C.E in Athens, Greece, Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher
who is credited for laying the fundamentals of modern Western philosophy (Routledge, 1999).
Socrates is well known for his iconic trial and execution mainly for his disrespect of the Athenian
democracy, his development of what came to be known as the Socratic method and for his concern
of virtue. However, much of what we know of Socrates is from Platos writings, as he did not leave
any behind.
Socrates ethical theory was focused quite strongly on virtue and knowledge. He was adamant that
the most important goal is not merely surviving or staying alive but living well, not in the sense of
wealth or power, which he criticised the Athenian government of doing so but to live virtuously and
justly.

lead to moral excellence and the way to the good life, which would in turn bring Eudemonia

orientations. Gender orientation is the legal and social status as men and women. Sexual orientation
however, is what defines someone as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. The best way to
explain it is sexual orientation is whom you go to bed with and gender orientation is who you go

People of the LGBT community were treated very crudely, even today there is discrimination
against people in the gay community. They would be sent to psychiatric wards because the
majority of the people back then would say they were sick in their minds and didn t know what

homosexualtiy as an illness when Dr. Evelyn Hooker, who studied gay men, wrote a innovated
paper on how homosexual men are just as adjusted as hetrosexual men, if not possibly even more.
The LGBT community would also be at risk from being fired from their jobs because of their
orientation or they would have their children taken away from them. Much of the LGBT
community were beaten to death because of hate crimes. Hate crimes against the LGBT were in the
