Requirements For Commission Management And Management
3.1.1 Requirements for commission management
RBM is part of commission management and comes under the managerial responsibility of the officer
responsible for the commission. It is very important to ensure that the results based monitoring system
is based on the results model. The monitoring system must be possible to provide information all the
time on the following points:
 whether and to what extent the measure is moving towards the objective in accordance with the
results model and the underlying assumptions;
 whether the expected results as well as unexpected positive or negative results are being generated;
 what systematic management and strategic decisions can be identified for steering the measure;
 to what extent the measure contributes to achieving overarching results, and
 whether risks influence the achievement of results by the measure
3.1.2 What needs to be monitored?
Impact
Impacts describe indirect benefits of our interventions. Our programme contributes to impact. The
main purpose of impact monitoring is to prove whether our interventions are bringing and will have
potential to bring the defined changes that has been agreed on programme objective.
Impact monitoring goes beyond output and outcome monitoring, but relies to a large extent on the
information generated by output and outcome monitoring. Impact monitoring is usually not done
regularly and it can be done through surveys. These surveys can be conducted internally by project
staff or

Taking a Look at Virtual Currencies
Virtual currencies such as bitcoin are portrayed as an innovative design in the distribution of money
throughout the world through the use of peer to peer transactions due to it being fraudulent and
impossible to counterfeit. However, bitcoin holders are anonymous and could act in a similar way to
black markets, their bitwallet is unregulated and untaxed. Using bitcoin as a currency also delves into
the problem where users purchase illegal objects and substances anonymously.
Bitcoin is essentially an electronic cash currency and is perceived as a great success since its launch in
2009. Most e cash schemes require a centralized bank, which acts as a safeguard for potential scams or
for double spending detection. (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 401), In contrast, the bitcoin protocol
allows individuals to freely send bitcoins without any third party interference. The fee for sending
bitcoins is very little in comparison to other online payment methods such as PayPal thus bitcoin is
considered to be cost efficient. (Grinberg, R. 2012 p 160). Bitcoin is considered ethical because it is
unique to the characteristics of credit cards. Banks have attempted to remove the issue of fraud and
find mechanisms to stop hackers and phishers from obtaining personal data. This is because traditional
transactions require the transmission confidential data, making data vulnerable to interception by
hackers (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 402). In regards to bitcoin, only a bundle of characters

Political Female Serial Killers
Famous Historical and Political Female Serial Killers A serial killer is traditionally defined as an
individual who commits separate killings of three or more people over a certain period of time,
generally with breaks between the murders, at the same time leaving a similar sign on all their victims.
Serial killers are not a new phenomenon to our society. They are violent, brutal monsters and have an
abnormal urge to kill. While we are used to saying that most of the violent crimes are committed by
men, women killers have also played a leading role for the criminal performances throughout the
history of mankind. The history of murder is replete with dozens of female serial killers, who were far
more lethal and successful in their determination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, throughout history there were queens who judging from their actions and political motives
could be considered serial killers. One of them was the Queen of England and Ireland Mary I whose
executions of Protestants in the 16th century led to creating a worldwide famous metaphor and
modern alcohol drink cocktail called Bloody Mary . Mary s motives were completely political as it
was usual for those times to rush to throne sweeping everything on their way. Mary is remembered for
her restoration of Roman Catholicism after the short lived Protestant reign of her brother. During her
five year reign, she had over 280 religious dissenters burned at the stake in the so called Marian
Persecutions . She was so brutal that she was also trying to kill her sister the future Queen of England
Elizabeth I. Another noble serial woman killer was Countess Elizabeth BĂĄthory de Ecsed, who was
born in the renowned BĂĄthory family of nobility in the Kingdom of Hungary in the 16th century. She
has been labeled as the most prolific female serial killer in history. Although the number of murders is
debated, and she is remembered as the Blood Countess , she was the infamous serial killer of Hungary.
She used to kill peasant girls through severe beatings, burning,

Canada Should Not Outweigh The Cost Of Canada
Isn t is depressing to see your loved ones get killed in a pointless war just to acquire a few acres of
land? Some have argued that World War 1 made a nation out of Canada; others have replied that it has
divided us ever since. I think that the benefits did not outweighed the costs. Canada officially went to
war on August 4th, 1914 as a result of the British declarations of war on Germany. Even though
Canada got nothing to do with the war, Canada did not have the decision or the choice to join the war
due to Canada being one of Britain s colonies. Canada at that time had a total population of 8 million
people, in which, 620 000 served in the war and as a result, 60 661 were killed and 172 000 were
wounded. The casualties were really high. There is no place in the world that is worth the slaughter of
human beings. Interestingly, new technologies including machine guns, tanks, submarines, airplanes,
poison gas, radios, and telephones were introduced in World War 1. But this also meant death rates
would increase and being slaughtered would be highly possible. In response to the situation, Sir Sam
Hughes, Canadian Minister of Militia and Defense, decided to equip most Canadian troops with the
Ross Rifle. The Ross Rifle was an excellent gun for sniping and sharpshooting, but when it came to
rapid firing, the gun tends to overheat and gets jammed easily, making it very useless in the war. In
1915, Canadian soldiers threw their Ross Rifles away and collected Mausers from

This strategy is full of shortcomings; fundamentally, the spending all out is ascertained at a late point
in time and barges in on early arrangement particularly for buys and staffing increments inside the
library. Another shortcoming comes about because of the equation spending absence of distinguishing
proof with the parent association s objectives and destinations. Another shortcoming radiates from the
eccentric idea of the financial plan since the formula depends on factors outside the impact or control
of the uncommon library. This is dealing with the Federal government. Detail (line Item) Budget The
detail (line item) spending plan speaks to the most generally utilized planning technique for
exceptional libraries (Chand, 2016). In a detail spending plan, every class of movement is managed its
different appearance. Detail spending plans encourage low levels of detail for both arranging and cost
control purposes. Frequently, the bookkeeping capacity of the parent association creates records and
sub accounts on an extensive premise. All things considered, the library utilizes the organization
bookkeeping plan. Among the benefits of detail spending plans are simplicity of arrangement, which
are used as arranging vehicle and

China And The United States
China and the United States has its own unique culture. What is culture? According to Kluckhohn and
Kroeber Culture consists in patterned ways of thinking, feeling, and reacting, acquired and transmitted
mainly by symbols, constituting the distinctive achievements of human groups (Dowling, Festing,
Engle, 2013, p. 24). There are many interesting facts surrounding their culture. In this paper I will
compare China s culture to the culture of the United States to determine if China is a good match for a
United States multinational firm who is looking to enter a foreign market. The aspects of culture
difference I will be focusing on will include the following: language, religion, music, cooking, social
norms and customs. The paper will end with a conclusion of my findings. The Chinese and English
language have many significant differences. China does not have a single language, they have many
different versions or dialects that include Wu, Taiwanese and Cantonese. Mandarin, also known as
Northern Chinese is the mother tongue of about 70% of Chinese speakers and is the accepted written
language for all Chinese ( Language differences: English Chinese, n.d.). However, English is the only
language of the United States. Another difference between language in China and the United States is
that the Chinese language do not use an alphabet system, they use a system call logographic where
instead symbols represent words ( Language differences: English Chinese, n.d.). The

Analysis Of The White Porch By Cathy Song
The poem The White Porch by Cathy Song is an illustration of maturity and coming of age. There is
an innocent tone to the beginning of the poem with sensual undertones as the writing progress s. In the
poem, a woman is reminiscing about her young womanhood as she sits on her porch awaiting her
presumed lover. Song creates the character of the woman to be of a homemaker, describing her duties
taking care of laundry, having a cake in the oven and snapping beans in her lap. Through the
visualization that Song creates it is assumed that the woman is pregnant, and as she is waiting for her
husband she thinks back to the things she herself used to do when she was younger with her own
mother. She is reflecting on the way her mother raised her thinking about how she wants to raise her
own child. The speaker admits to sneaking in her lover late at night behind her mother s back, but does
not seem to feel remorseful because all her decisions led to where she is in her life now. Cathy Songs
poem The White Porch portrays the transition of a girl into a woman using symbolism, imagery and
simile.
The use of symbolism is one of the main literary elements used in this poem. The speaker s long hair
is used as a representation of sexuality. Women are often viewed to be more desirable with longer hair.
Long hair it is also used to validate femininity and in earlier years also represented social status.
Throughout history, hair has been worn in a variety of ways often determined by the

ETA stands for Euskadi Ta Askatasuna in Euskara, or in English, Basque Fatherland and Freedom. It
grew out of the EKIN in Spain in 1959 and formed as a radical Basque separatist group. Discontented
with the moderate nationalism of the main Basque party, the ETA is dedicated to a separate nation
state for the Basque people, an ethnic group inhabiting areas of northern Spain and southwestern
France. Currently there are about 300 members . Current leaders include Juan Cruz Maiztegui Bengoa

The group has attempted several cease fires, including a 14 month one that lasted until December
1999. While there have been a number of ETA attacks since 2000, the group has claimed fewer
victims. The strings of bombings in September 2004, December 2005, and early 2006 were generally
preceded by warnings and did not result in any deaths. Also the Spanish government has been
cracking down, and there are more than one hundred suspected ETA members in Spanish prisons
today . In March 2006, ETA declared a permanent cease fire, but broke this deal in December with the
placement of a car bomb. Since then they have appeared relatively weak, especially with the arrest of
Jurdan Martitegi, the fourth consecutive ETA military chief to be arrested by the police . However,
violence resurged in the summer of 2009, leading to the death of three individuals and injuring dozens
more. The ETA may simply be biding its time before commencing another string of attacks. FARC
FARC stands for Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of

overthrowing the current democratic government of Colombia and replacing it with a Communist

I. Introduction. The Mind Body Problem Is A Problem That
I. Introduction The mind body problem is a problem that has been around for a long time. The
problem is the question Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body? , the reason it s
still a problem today is because we don t have a scientific understanding of how the mind and body
interact. The interactions of the mind and the matter of the body is seen every day. You can only be
aware of things around you through your senses. When you touch a table, your fingers tell you
through nerves that the surface you are in contact with is smooth, flat, etc. If you examine that same
surface with a high powered microscope, you will see ridges and valleys that the nerves in your
fingers cannot detect. Why is this a problem for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly, I will wrap up this paper my evaluation of the arguments and the conclusion.
II. Leibniz Principle of Identity of Indiscernible The Leibniz Principle of Identity introduces if M = B,
then M and B share all the same properties. M has property P, b does not have property P, if m has a
property that b lacks, then m ≠ b, therefore m ≠ b. Using the superman example, Lois Lane wants to
marry Superman. Lois Lane does not want to marry Clark Kent. Therefore, Superman is not identical
with Clark Kent. In the eyes of Lois Lane, Superman is the hero she wants to marry while Clark Kent
is just a regular guy. Unknowing to her, they are both the same person. Leibniz law shows that
superman is known for all his super powers and special abilities and everyone thinks that Clark Kent
is just a regular guy so the two could not be one of the same. When Lois lane marries Superman, she
also marries Clark Kent which defeats the use of this law. This same law can be applied to the mind
body problem being that you cannot doubt having a brain but you can doubt having a body. My body
is dubitable, and it is divisible. My mind is indubitable and it is indivisible. With that, one can say that
the mind and body are two different beings because they do not share the same properties.
III. Descartes s Argument for Dualism: The Indubitability Argument The Indubitability Argument is
basically saying I can think and perceive distinctly and clearly, therefore my mind exists; however,

Bennett (1996) described that customer service seeks to establish long term, committed, trusting and
cooperative relationship with customers, characterized by openness, genuine concern for the delivery
of high quality services, responsiveness to customer suggestions, fair dealings and willingness to
sacrifice short term advantage for long term gains. Schneider and Bowen (1999) advocated that
service business can retain customers and achieve profitability by building reciprocal relationships
founded on safeguarding and affirming customer security, fairness and self esteem. It requires that
companies view customers as people first and consumers second. Trust, commitment, ethical
practices, fulfillment of promises, mutual exchange, emotional bonding, personalization and customer
orientation have been reported to be the key elements in the relationship building process
(Levitt,1986; Gronroos, 1994; Morgan,1994; Gummesson,1994; Bejou et al,1998 ).
Customer service refers to all business activities directed towards initiating, establishing, maintaining,
and developing successful long term relational exchanges (Heide, 1994; Reinartz Kumar, 2003). One
of the results of Customer service is the promotion of customer loyalty (Evans Laskin, 1994), which is
considered to be a relational phenomenon, (Chow Holden, 1997; Jacoby Kyner, 1973; Sheth

Television In the Lives of Children Essay
Television In The Lives Of Children
Consistently, everywhere, in this century there seems to be some form of a TV screen. These screens
appear in restaurants, schools, at work, at home, and quite possibly more. What is forgotten in society
is how that screen may affect the lives of the children in this modern world. When children are
constantly watching a television screen there may be consequences to their health and education. Most
parents do not have the ability to control what is shown on TV. Many programs disagreeably display
marathons after school and during holidays. Supposedly, adult shows are only showed late at night,
but with movies becoming more and more explicit, even bed time can t stop the most determined
child. Children s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Violence on the television can also be affecting children s health. Injuries are the leading cause of
death in children, and watching unsafe behavior on TV may increase children s risk taking behavior.
(Boyse Online). So, when watching Americas Funniest Home Videos make sure to monitor every
minor in the house (that may be their next idea of a fun game).
Violence on television can also be damaging to a child s reaction to the world Kids who view violent
acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that
something bad will happen to them. (Gavin Online). When young children see these explicit scenes of
violence on screen at that age, most cannot tell the difference from reality so, in the child s mind these
bad thing could befall them. Violence occurs so much on shows and movies, some violent acts that
happen in life are unnoticed The average American child will witness 200,000 violent acts on
television by age 18. Kids may become desensitized to violence and more aggressive. (Gavin Online).
It s important to teach the kids between right and wrong, but this becomes difficult when children are
constantly surrounded by television, Even though kids are taught by their parents that it s not right to
hit, television says it s OK to bite, hit, or kick if you re the good guy. This can lead to confusion when
kids try to understand the difference

Along with Steve Jobs, he founded Apple, a well known technology company. With its iconic bitten
apple, Apple has sold various electronical products, including iPhones and iPads. But have you ever
wondered about Apple s history and how it influences today s society? Back in 1970s, computers were
very complex, had many chips, and hard to come by. This all changed in 1975, when Wozniak tested
the Apple I s prototype. This computer had less chips than other leading brands and was able to, for
the first time in history, display a few letters on a screen. His acquaintance, Steve Jobs, persuaded him
to sell it, and within the next year, the

No Exit Sartre
Psychological suffering versus physical torture is one of the central themes in No Exit by French
playwright Jean Paul Sartre. Sartre s famous quote that hell is other people (45) is illustrated through
the interactions among Garcin, Inez and Estelle. Through psychological suffering the characters self
destructive flaws are revealed which ultimately emphasizes how each of them are responsible for their
own fate. The characters have the freedom of will to help redeem each other but choose not to. To
subtly reinforce the theme, even the style of the play is psychologically wearing on the audience.
Sartre uses terse, tense dialogue, and boring repetitive sentences, deliberately irritating the audience,
as shown in the quotations below. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a demonstration of how people cause their own suffering. Similarly, in the play s context of
World War II, many seemingly normal people chose to kill others, even children, when they did not
have to. People in France allowed Nazis to define them under their occupation, which is contrary to
Sartre s self deterministic philosophy. Garcin s misery and suffering is caused by his self destructive
cowardice and cruelty, leading to his desertion and abuse of his wife. He tries to convince the others
that he was a courageous pacifist, yet Inez mocks him: What was your real motive? . . . [F]ear and
hatred and all the dirty little instincts one keeps dark they re motives too. Garcin knows that Inez is

The Science of Shopping
9/26/2011 The Science of Shopping Everyday thousands of retail stores throughout the United States

merchandise. For this assignment I decided to do a store analysis of the retail giant Wal Mart. To begin
with I will evaluate the store layout and design. Next I will explain the visual merchandising
techniques used that Wal Mart uses. Finally I will discuss the problems and recommendations that I
have for Wal Mart. Wal Mart has continually been a leader in the retail industry, and it all starts with
the layout of the store. From the second that you pull into the Wal Mart parking lot you are already

Another thing Wal Mart uses is many of their departments are cash wraps. Most of these cash wraps
tended to be things like batteries, gum, candy, and soda. With Wal Mart being such a large store, many
departments also have their own checkout counters that allow customers who are only looking for
certain items to be able to get in and out. Wal Mart also uses end caps on almost every aisle in the
store. These end caps are usually impulse buy items that are offering special promotional prices.
Another thing that Wal Mart does is that it shelves their items based on frequency. The most popular
items or the items that most consumers buy will be located in the beginning of the aisle and at eye
level, while other infrequent items are placed lower on the shelves and more towards the end of the
aisle. To accurately keep track of what items need to be restocked or what items are selling the best,
Wal Mart uses a planogram. The planogram they use utilizes SKU s and will allow for employees to
figure out exactly where everything goes and when it needs to be restocked. With Wal Mart being the
leader in retail stores, it is obvious that they must be doing something right. While I was unable to
figure out the profitability of space, I was able to find out that their grocery section is the least
profitable and that their electronics section is the most profitable.

Charlemagne Or Charles The Great
Charlemagne or Charles the Great, (747 814) was one of the most significant people during the
Middle Ages, playing a key role in defining the shape and character of Medieval Europe. Considered
the Father of Europe , Charlemagne reigned as King of the Franks (768 814) and became the first
Holy Roman Emperor (800 814). He created a great empire as he dramatically expanded the Frankish
Kingdom in a series of conquests that united most of Western Europe for the first time since the
Roman Empire. He also introduced many governmental, cultural and economic reforms to further his
great Carolingian Empire. Additionally the Emperor fostered the Carolingian renaissance, a time of
great cultural and intellectual revival and reinforced the Christian foothold on Europe.
Charlemagne s role in Medieval Europe was as a complete leader and emperor, one that effectively
managed every aspect of his empire. As King of the Franks, Charlemagne played the role of a warrior
king, constantly engaged in warfare and through his conquests he no longer ruled a Kingdom but a
veritable empire. When the fall of the Roman Empire led to its dissolution in Western Europe, it
caused a fragmented collection of Kingdoms. As Charlemagne united these fragments he needed to
reconstruct the structures of a complex society and maintain unity within his realm, which was
complicated by the differences between his people. Due to this, Charlemagne s role was as an
effective administrator, and he instituted many

The Horror Of Action Adventure
The action adventure genre has long been considered the easiest kind of book or movie to sell. People
believe that the similarities, which are universal throughout the genre and many times very obvious in
the most popular books and movies, are just a product of the author s laziness and overdone clichés.
Yet action adventure still remains one of the most popular and most generally liked types. This is
because the genre of action adventure fills the holes that are created, in our lives, by modern society
and help people cope with its stress. The most affective of these are ability to escape the problems of
the world, the feeling of making a difference, being able to become the main character, and the ability
to sate the violent nature of humanity. All these things combined make the action adventure genres one
of the most popular genera, if not the most popular, in the world.
The average person s life nowadays has the same amount of stress as a patient in an insane asylum 50
years ago, or at least it seems like that to many. People have a lot to worry about nowadays mortgages,
bills, education, job security, family and health issues, the dangers in the world, among others, and
with all these worries and the stress that comes with them, they welcome the ability to turn off their
brain and enjoy a meaningless story. Picking up and reading any book, or watching a movie, transports
them to a new world free from their problems and their worries of the world. Action adventure

Summary and Analysis
On Dumpster Diving
Lars Eighner s On Dumpster Diving (Published is a first person informative essay that explores the art
of Dumpster diving. Almost presented as a user guide or instructional piece his key message is about
the wastefulness of consumers and the shallowness of materialism. About a year before he became
homeless, Eighner began sourcing all of his life necessities from dumpsters because of a lack of
money as all his income was spent on rent. He makes the claim that it is possible to survive and be
content with life simply by living off the refuse and waste of others. Through his experiences as a
scavenger, Eighner educates and teaches others about dumpster diving and materialism. He states I
have learned much as a scavenger. I mean to put some of what I have learned down here, beginning
with the practical art of Dumpster diving and proceeding to the abstract. (560)

experience and knowledge will outlast any tangible item, he states some material things are white
elephants that eat up the possessor s substance (568). Eighner argues that materialistic objects
themselves are not as important as the sentiments behind them. The fact that Eighner can survive and
live happily off others waste effectively persuades the reader to reflect and ask questions of
themselves. What items do they value and does it really make them happy? Could they survive

Symbolism In Eugene Onegin
Symbolism can be seen in everyday life. For example, the image of a caduceus will normally invoke
the thoughts of medicine or a doctor s office. But a caduceus does not mean medicine. In fact, it is
seen in mythology as the staff of Hermes, who was the messenger for the gods, conductor of the dead,
and protector of merchants and thieves. However, in modern days, the caduceus has become a symbol
for medicine. In literature, authors typically use symbols to better engage their readers in the story, by
making them reflect and think about the story rather than just reading it. Symbols can also often
communicate more meaning than simply stating the idea itself. In Eugene Onegin by Alexander
Pushkin, the moon is mentioned quite frequently. Upon first reading the novel, the reader may not
notice any significance with this. However, with further investigation it is easy to see that the moon
represents Tatyana and her mystical and mysterious ways. When the reader is first introduced to
Tatyana at the party that Eugene Onegin (the hero of the story) and Vladimir Lensky (a young poet
who is in love with Tatyana s younger sister, Olga), the narrator goes into explaining how Tatyana was
an odd sort of girl, who was not in to childish games: Upon her balcony appearing,
She loved to greet Aurora s show,
When dancing stars are disappearing
Against the heavens pallid glow,
When earth s horizon softly blushes,
And wind, the morning s herald, rushes,
And slowly day begins it flight.

Donald Trump Effect
Donald Trump
Have you ever heard of Donald trump? If not he is a 70 year old man born June 14, 1946 in Queens,
New York City. He is a Republican running for president in the election of 2016. I believe he has had a
positive effect on the election because I don t think he s just doing it for the money and that he speaks
the truth about what the changes the United Sates needs.
The first reason I think Donald trump would be a good president is because he speaks the truth and is
honest about what he wants to do to change America. For example, Trump wants to build a wall on the
boarder of United States and Mexico so illegal immigrants can t come into America and commit
crimes and not pay taxes because the government doesn t know that they are illegal ... Show more

The reason I think that is because he already has a lot of money, for jobs, he is a business man,
television personality, author, investor, politician and more. All together he makes 8.7 billion dollars.
The president makes $400,000 per year, therefore I believe Trump isn t dong it for the money because
the president makes a lot less than what he does.
Some people such as Muslims, Mexicans, and Democrats might think that Donald Trump has had a
negative effect on the presidential election because they might think he says and does mean things to
people. But what he wants to do is fix America by, strengthening the army, shut down parts of the
internet where Isis can not us it to recruit American people. And provide more funding for police
training and a lot more. In my opinion he s saying what should be done to make America better than
what it is now.

Intrinsic And Extrinsic Aging
In the past 100 year the human race has seen a progressive increase in life expectancy. However, these
gains have not been seen equally across different regions, genders, and socioeconomic classes. Various
cofactors impact the quality and quantity of life for individuals. Interactions between both intrinsic
and extrinsic aging contribute to variations in lifespan seen between people. The idea that we are in
control of how we age is comforting and troublesome as the level of control is often varied. Numerous
health promoting behaviors have been strongly associated with reduced age related health concerns
and a higher quality of life. Refraining from smoking, active lifestyle choices, and frequent social
participation all have health promoting tendencies, traits like these could be considered highly
available with few barriers to achieving their benefits. Meaning everyone should be able to improve
there projected aging by engaging in such traits. However, not all factors are equally accessible
education, gender, stress, diet, geographic location, and genes all greatly impact the course of aging.
With most of those factors determined at birth or early life decision the consequences they have on
aging is often not seen as a choice. Financial constraints can negatively impact diet and level of
activity direct impacting BMI. This is a growing concern in Canada with a doubling of 60 69 year olds
classified as obese since 1981 (Canadian Health Measures Survey). A high BMI

The Past Is The Key For The Future
The Past is the Key to the Future Heather stumbled into the empty apartment. Through the walls, she
could hear the sobs of the neighbours in mourning, the atmosphere filled with sorrow. Today,
September 24th only marked the fourth day after the big news was announced. In her head, Heather
had played and replayed the events of that day countless times, yet the truth still holds. This is the
reality. Four days earlier..... You never know what to expect each day until things have played out, you
don t know when it might just be your lucky day. Nor do you know the day in which you pass away.
Today, just felt different to Heather, she felt it in the pit of her stomach from the second she had
opened her eyes. She just had this instinct, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although everyone is saddened by this news, some people had taken fate into their own hands. An 8th
of the global population was deceased upon five days of receiving the news. The first day the news
was released in which we call the Big One, was the day that Earth had exploded into chaos.
Approximately 10,000 people died of heart attacks just upon receiving the dreadful news. Many more
committed suicide, crimes and the chaos claim the lives of numerous others. By now things have
settled down, but the changes in the atmosphere are subtle. Now, outside activity is strictly monitored,
each person only allowed to be outside for 30 minutes each day. Not only that, many people are
already showing side effects of the changing air qualities at ground level, developing a sickness that
makes your lungs collapse. This was only the beginning of something that will develop to be much
more disastrous. After setting down her bag by the door, Heather flipped open the TV again to check
on the updated news, she was shocked. The US government had declared that they are using their
nuclear bombs to end their problems once and for all, and offered no further explanation. Heather
knew the aftermath of unleashing such a powerful biological weapon would be catastrophic. Not to
say that Heather s small town in Ontario would disappear with no signs of existence. Just then, the
door flung open, Heather s

Improving Patient Throughput
In the Emergency Department
Introduction
St. Vincent s Medical Center, a 501 bed facility located in Jacksonville, Florida, provides general
medical and surgical care to the North Florida Region. St. Vincent s admits over 26,000 patients
annually. The average occupancy rate is approximately 84% with the Emergency Department (ED)
peeking at 100% for approximately 4 12 hours daily. The hospital is struggling with availability of bed
space. This shortage of available beds creates a bottleneck in the ED on high census days. Bottlenecks
are created in the ED when there is a shortage of inpatient beds to place admitted ED patients. Thus,
patient flow, or throughput, is becoming more and more important. ... Show more content on

Patients arriving in the ED are triaged by a nurse then placed in an ED room according to their acuity.
After being evaluated by a physician, the patient is either released to home or admitted. When the
decision is made for the patient to be admitted, a request for an inpatient bed is placed to nursing
administration who then assigns an available bed. If there is not an appropriate bed available, the
patient must remain in the ED bed. This effectively reduces the capacity of the ED causing the
department to either divert patients or patients will leave without being seen. Every patient who is
diverted or leaves without being seen is lost opportunity cost to the hospital.
Patient Volumes
Patient volumes vary greatly in the ED. There are, however, patterns noted in census fluctuations
according to the day of the week. High census days are historically early in the week, while lower
census usually occurs later in the week. On days when the census is high throughout the hospital, there
will be patients holding in the ED awaiting inpatient beds.
The following graph depicts the number of patients holding in the ED by month during the past fiscal
year.
This graph depicts the total ED volume by month for the past fiscal year.
Step 2: Develop Criteria
Feasibility Criteria: 1. Maintain Current Budget
The budget for this project will be based off of excess funding from the department. Due to the budget

How Did Religion Change Throughout The 16th Century
Throughout the sixteenth century, religion was the main focus of society. The corruption of the
Catholic church led to reformation. Through this reformation of religion, it created rifts in society,
hence outbreak of religious wars. During the Protestant reformation, the monarchy was the most
influential system that affected the European wars of the sixteenth century. Economically, Spain s
wars with just about every nearby country left it economically struggling. Inflation was high due to the
large amounts of Gold and Silver found in the new world. War was expensive and detrimental to the
Spanish economy. These wars were both religious and territorial in nature.
Politically, it is a redistribution of power and land. Up until this point, Spain was advancing in the race
for power. They had land in the new world as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Henry s death, his son, Edward VI takes over. He was brought of with protestant tutors so the religion
of the Kingdom swinged towards protestantism. Edward was a sickly boy and died soon after. The
next in line to rule was Mary I. She received her nickname of Bloody Mary for a good reason. She
persecuted all that were protestant. Under her reign religion swinged back to Catholicism but not for
long. The final heir to the Tudor throne was Elizabeth I. She was the first to be religiously moderate in

compromise. She started with the Elizabethan Religious Settlement in attempts to regain control.

A Year Down Yonder
A year Down Yonder is about a girl named Mary Alice who goes to live with her Grandma in a small
town with only her cat Bootsie and her potable radio that she says is her last touch with the world.
This chapter is called Rich Chicago Girl. Mary Alice gets off a train from Chicago. After they leave
the station Grandma enrolls her into school on the first day she arrives! Mary Alice sits next to
Mildred Burdick who Grandma says to stay clear of but gets into deep trouble with and her horse ends
up losing her horse and having to walk miles to get home. And that s the end of this chapter. The 2nd

from the attic and out came Maxine Patch with only a snake around her and a flower in her hair and

Ms. Jordan
28 February 2017 Coco Chanel
Coco Chanel stated In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different. Coco Chanel was born
on August 19, 1883 in Saumur France. Her birth name is Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Gabrielle has had
a difficult childhood. Coco s mother passed away due to suffering asthma. After her mother s death,
Chanel and two her sisters were sent to an orphanage and her two brother were sent to a farm to
become laborers. At the orphanage, Coco learned the basics of sewing. Along with learning how to
sew she also got a basic education at the orphanage. In order to make money, Gabrielle worked as a
singer in a coffee shop. That is where Gabrielle obtained her nickname Coco. This nickname stuck
with her throughout the rest of her career. In Chanel s early 20s, she got into a relationship with a
French, ex cavalry officer, and wealthy textile Étienne Balsan. He assisted her in making her dream
come true by helping her open her first fashion shop on Paris s Rue Cambon in 1910 followed by
another in the resort town of Deauville. She started selling stylish hats in her shop. Balsan financially

Chanel was very confident. She broke all the current rules of fashion without doubting herself and
believing she would make it. Chanel also had a set vision. She knew exactly what she wanted and
made sure she got it. She was extremely determined. Coco Chanel was also very innovative. She
always found new ways to take fashion to the next level. For example, she used men s fabrics to make
women s clothing in a time period where women s clothing was very conservative. These positive
characteristics may have contributed to the fact that she did not have any failures.Putting all of these
traits together helped Coco Chanel become as successful as she

Richard, By William Shakespeare
In William Shakespeare s Richard III, Richard is a devil that is walking amongst the masses. His
desire for power is overwhelmingly confident and carefully planned out. Even though he has obstacles
ahead of him, but Richard is determined do everything in his power to rule the throne. Throughout the
progression of the play, Richard uses two forms of power, manipulation and misogyny, to accomplish
his goal. This manipulations starting from the very beginning of the play and drives him until the end.
Furthermore, through a close examination of scene from The Exorcist (1973) a closer parallel can be
drawn between Richard and devil, and how they both use casual possessed power and hidden power.
Richard is like a wolf in sheep s clothing and a silent killer.
What black magician conjures up this fiend
To stop devoted charitable deeds?..
What, do you tremble? Are you all afraid?
Alas, I blame you not, for you are mortal,
And mortal eyes cannot endure the devil.
Avaunt, thou dreadful minister of hell.
Thou hadst but power over his mortal body;
His soul thou canst not have. Therefore begone. (Act1,2.35 45)
This powerfully venomous quote from Lady Anne really reveals how she feels about Richard and how
she wants Richard to know that she knows he murdered her husband and father in law. ...Dreadful
minister of hell. is a powerful insult that shows the pain and anger from Lady Anne. This phrase not
only captures the essence of the of the entire scene, it also parallels a

How Did Elizabeth Pinncney Influence The Economy
Elizabeth Pinckney is perhaps one of the most influential people when it comes to agriculture in the
early U.S. as she established indigo as a new cash crop, first for South Carolina, then the rest of the
South. Her discovery and the tests that she conducted in botany helped the agricultural economy in the
South grow and soon flourish. Eliza Lucas was born in Antigua in the West Indies in 1722 and was the
eldest child of Lt. Colonel George Lucas and Ann Lucas. She had 3 other siblings; her brothers,
Thomas and George, and her sister Mary. Eliza was in no way born in poverty as her family was well
set, owning 3 sugarcane plantations. She grew up on one of these plantations and lived an average life
like everyone else and was soon, along with the rest of her siblings, sent to receive schooling in
England as this was the usual thing for elite colonists to do when their children reached a certain age.

Eliza herself helped spread the growth of indigo by giving other farmers the seeds so they as well
could experience the wealth and prosperity. I couldn t agree more with historians as I believe Eliza s
knowledge, rich life, and devout belief in learning made her one of the first cornerstones for women to
build their claim on for better rights in the Unites States. I also agree with their statements that her
cultivation of the indigo plant helped the colonies survive and even prosper leading up to the
American Revolution. She was, without a doubt, one of the greatest woman of her time and the legacy
that she left behind still survives today and will for years and years to

Figure 1 shows a basic framework that can be used to manage stakeholders based on interest and
influence. In the figure, the power on the Y axis can also be referred to as Influence and the Interest on
the X axis can be referred to as Availability .
There are 4 phases in the stakeholder management matrix :
Manage Closely
Keep Satisfied
Keep Informed
Monitor (minimum effort)
The people who fall in the phase Manage Closely are people who have high influence and high
interest. They are business owners and others with significant decision making authority and power to

The One Day of the Year Essay
How are the main characters in a play constructed to represent the text s underlying values and
attitudes?
Answer with reference to at least one stage drama that you have seen or studied.
The One Day Of The Year explores a family s relationships at the time of Anzac Day. It is the story of
a son questioning the validity of Anzac Day as a true commemoration of our soldiers, while his father
refuses to accept the changes in his son s attitudes, Alf s wife tries to anchor the family and Wacka, the
true Anzac, remembers his experiences in his own way.
In contrast, Alf and Dot, his parents, are obviously more traditional. The rest of the house is small, the
furniture is dowdy, and their kitchen is primitive.
It is then that the viewer is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hughie is clearly uncertain. His youth means that he has not fully developed self awareness and
understanding. Through much of the play he is hesitant in his actions and not sure what to do with
himself. Stage direction on page 24 says, He is nervous, on edge.
Alf clearly values Anzac Day and the drinking that accompanies it. On page 13 he says
I m a bloody Australian, mate, and it s because I m a bloody Australia that I m getting on the grog. It s
Anzac Day this week, that s my day, that s the old diggers day.
In comparison Hughie questions the true meaning of Anzac Day.
Do you know what you re even celebrating today? Do you? Do you even know what it all meant?
(page 81)
He is angrily defending his point of view and swings on his father. He sees Anzac Day as one big day
of drinking, and blames his father for his disillusionment.
No, Dad. You started it... when you dragged me by the hand through mobs of them like this just
exactly like this. That s all I ever saw on Anzac Day, every year, year after year, a screaming tribe of
great, stupid, drunken no hopers. (page 95)
But at the same time, Hughie still questions if these new opinions are right.
Oh, I don t know. Up there at uni it seems terrific to be outspoken and critical and everything. But... I
m sorry. I didn t mean to hurt you. (page 99)
The play clearly displays the eternal father son conflict and

Essay On Fun Home By Alison Bechdel
Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic is an autobiography written by Alison Bechdel. The graphic novel
takes its readers through Alison Bechdel s childhood using engaging diction and detailed drawings.
One of the big themes of Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic is the discovery of one s sexual orientation.
Over the course of her life, Alison Bechdel eventually comes to the realization that she is a lesbian.
Ultimately, Alison Bechdel uses this novel to recount her experience of events that helped to shape her

It is no secret that when Alison Bechdel was a child, homosexuality was not exactly met with open
arms. Due to the unpleasant views many heterosexuals had in regards to homosexuality, Alison
Bechdel was at first quite cautious when it came to being open about her newfound sexual orientation;
however, she eventually opened herself up to her family, friends, and the world about who she is and
did not let the political prejudices of others stop her. This is evident when Bechdel writes, It was in
that tremulous state that I determined to tell my parents. Keeping it from them had started to seem
ludicrous anyway (76). Here, Bechdel decides to come out to her parents, deciding that it was absurd
not to tell them. Evidently, the prejudices of society could not keep Alison Bechdel down, and this
resulted in her personality being shaped by the courage of being oneself, which is hardly an easy thing

  • 2. Requirements For Commission Management And Management 3.1.1 Requirements for commission management RBM is part of commission management and comes under the managerial responsibility of the officer responsible for the commission. It is very important to ensure that the results based monitoring system is based on the results model. The monitoring system must be possible to provide information all the time on the following points:  whether and to what extent the measure is moving towards the objective in accordance with the results model and the underlying assumptions;  whether the expected results as well as unexpected positive or negative results are being generated;  what systematic management and strategic decisions can be identified for steering the measure;  to what extent the measure contributes to achieving overarching results, and  whether risks influence the achievement of results by the measure 3.1.2 What needs to be monitored? Impact Impacts describe indirect benefits of our interventions. Our programme contributes to impact. The main purpose of impact monitoring is to prove whether our interventions are bringing and will have potential to bring the defined changes that has been agreed on programme objective. Impact monitoring goes beyond output and outcome monitoring, but relies to a large extent on the information generated by output and outcome monitoring. Impact monitoring is usually not done regularly and it can be done through surveys. These surveys can be conducted internally by project staff or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Taking a Look at Virtual Currencies Virtual currencies such as bitcoin are portrayed as an innovative design in the distribution of money throughout the world through the use of peer to peer transactions due to it being fraudulent and impossible to counterfeit. However, bitcoin holders are anonymous and could act in a similar way to black markets, their bitwallet is unregulated and untaxed. Using bitcoin as a currency also delves into the problem where users purchase illegal objects and substances anonymously. Bitcoin is essentially an electronic cash currency and is perceived as a great success since its launch in 2009. Most e cash schemes require a centralized bank, which acts as a safeguard for potential scams or for double spending detection. (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 401), In contrast, the bitcoin protocol allows individuals to freely send bitcoins without any third party interference. The fee for sending bitcoins is very little in comparison to other online payment methods such as PayPal thus bitcoin is considered to be cost efficient. (Grinberg, R. 2012 p 160). Bitcoin is considered ethical because it is unique to the characteristics of credit cards. Banks have attempted to remove the issue of fraud and find mechanisms to stop hackers and phishers from obtaining personal data. This is because traditional transactions require the transmission confidential data, making data vulnerable to interception by hackers (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 402). In regards to bitcoin, only a bundle of characters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Political Female Serial Killers Famous Historical and Political Female Serial Killers A serial killer is traditionally defined as an individual who commits separate killings of three or more people over a certain period of time, generally with breaks between the murders, at the same time leaving a similar sign on all their victims. Serial killers are not a new phenomenon to our society. They are violent, brutal monsters and have an abnormal urge to kill. While we are used to saying that most of the violent crimes are committed by men, women killers have also played a leading role for the criminal performances throughout the history of mankind. The history of murder is replete with dozens of female serial killers, who were far more lethal and successful in their determination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, throughout history there were queens who judging from their actions and political motives could be considered serial killers. One of them was the Queen of England and Ireland Mary I whose executions of Protestants in the 16th century led to creating a worldwide famous metaphor and modern alcohol drink cocktail called Bloody Mary . Mary s motives were completely political as it was usual for those times to rush to throne sweeping everything on their way. Mary is remembered for her restoration of Roman Catholicism after the short lived Protestant reign of her brother. During her five year reign, she had over 280 religious dissenters burned at the stake in the so called Marian Persecutions . She was so brutal that she was also trying to kill her sister the future Queen of England Elizabeth I. Another noble serial woman killer was Countess Elizabeth BĂĄthory de Ecsed, who was born in the renowned BĂĄthory family of nobility in the Kingdom of Hungary in the 16th century. She has been labeled as the most prolific female serial killer in history. Although the number of murders is debated, and she is remembered as the Blood Countess , she was the infamous serial killer of Hungary. She used to kill peasant girls through severe beatings, burning, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Canada Should Not Outweigh The Cost Of Canada Isn t is depressing to see your loved ones get killed in a pointless war just to acquire a few acres of land? Some have argued that World War 1 made a nation out of Canada; others have replied that it has divided us ever since. I think that the benefits did not outweighed the costs. Canada officially went to war on August 4th, 1914 as a result of the British declarations of war on Germany. Even though Canada got nothing to do with the war, Canada did not have the decision or the choice to join the war due to Canada being one of Britain s colonies. Canada at that time had a total population of 8 million people, in which, 620 000 served in the war and as a result, 60 661 were killed and 172 000 were wounded. The casualties were really high. There is no place in the world that is worth the slaughter of human beings. Interestingly, new technologies including machine guns, tanks, submarines, airplanes, poison gas, radios, and telephones were introduced in World War 1. But this also meant death rates would increase and being slaughtered would be highly possible. In response to the situation, Sir Sam Hughes, Canadian Minister of Militia and Defense, decided to equip most Canadian troops with the Ross Rifle. The Ross Rifle was an excellent gun for sniping and sharpshooting, but when it came to rapid firing, the gun tends to overheat and gets jammed easily, making it very useless in the war. In 1915, Canadian soldiers threw their Ross Rifles away and collected Mausers from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This strategy is full of shortcomings; fundamentally, the spending all out is ascertained at a late point in time and barges in on early arrangement particularly for buys and staffing increments inside the library. Another shortcoming radiates from the eccentric idea of the financial plan since the formula depends on factors outside the impact or control of the uncommon library. • 7. China And The United States China and the United States has its own unique culture. What is culture? According to Kluckhohn and Kroeber Culture consists in patterned ways of thinking, feeling, and reacting, acquired and transmitted mainly by symbols, constituting the distinctive achievements of human groups (Dowling, Festing, Engle, 2013, p. 24). There are many interesting facts surrounding their culture. In this paper I will compare China s culture to the culture of the United States to determine if China is a good match for a United States multinational firm who is looking to enter a foreign market. The aspects of culture difference I will be focusing on will include the following: language, religion, music, cooking, social norms and customs. The paper will end with a conclusion of my findings. The Chinese and English language have many significant differences. China does not have a single language, they have many different versions or dialects that include Wu, Taiwanese and Cantonese. Mandarin, also known as Northern Chinese is the mother tongue of about 70% of Chinese speakers and is the accepted written language for all Chinese ( Language differences: English Chinese, n.d.). However, English is the only language of the United States. Another difference between language in China and the United States is that the Chinese language do not use an alphabet system, they use a system call logographic where instead symbols represent words ( Language differences: English Chinese, n.d.). • 8. Analysis Of The White Porch By Cathy Song The poem The White Porch by Cathy Song is an illustration of maturity and coming of age. There is an innocent tone to the beginning of the poem with sensual undertones as the writing progress s. In the poem, a woman is reminiscing about her young womanhood as she sits on her porch awaiting her presumed lover. Song creates the character of the woman to be of a homemaker, describing her duties taking care of laundry, having a cake in the oven and snapping beans in her lap. Through the visualization that Song creates it is assumed that the woman is pregnant, and as she is waiting for her husband she thinks back to the things she herself used to do when she was younger with her own mother. She is reflecting on the way her mother raised her thinking about how she wants to raise her own child. The speaker admits to sneaking in her lover late at night behind her mother s back, but does not seem to feel remorseful because all her decisions led to where she is in her life now. Cathy Songs poem The White Porch portrays the transition of a girl into a woman using symbolism, imagery and simile. The use of symbolism is one of the main literary elements used in this poem. The speaker s long hair is used as a representation of sexuality. Women are often viewed to be more desirable with longer hair. Long hair it is also used to validate femininity and in earlier years also represented social status. Throughout history, hair has been worn in a variety of ways often determined by the ... Also the Spanish government has been cracking down, and there are more than one hundred suspected ETA members in Spanish prisons today . In March 2006, ETA declared a permanent cease fire, but broke this deal in December with the placement of a car bomb. Since then they have appeared relatively weak, especially with the arrest of Jurdan Martitegi, the fourth consecutive ETA military chief to be arrested by the police . However, violence resurged in the summer of 2009, leading to the death of three individuals and injuring dozens more. • 10. I. Introduction. The Mind Body Problem Is A Problem That I. Introduction The mind body problem is a problem that has been around for a long time. The problem is the question Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body? , the reason it s still a problem today is because we don t have a scientific understanding of how the mind and body interact. The interactions of the mind and the matter of the body is seen every day. You can only be aware of things around you through your senses. When you touch a table, your fingers tell you through nerves that the surface you are in contact with is smooth, flat, etc. If you examine that same surface with a high powered microscope, you will see ridges and valleys that the nerves in your fingers cannot detect. Why is this a problem for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, I will wrap up this paper my evaluation of the arguments and the conclusion. II. Leibniz Principle of Identity of Indiscernible The Leibniz Principle of Identity introduces if M = B, then M and B share all the same properties. M has property P, b does not have property P, if m has a property that b lacks, then m ≠ b, therefore m ≠ b. Using the superman example, Lois Lane wants to marry Superman. Lois Lane does not want to marry Clark Kent. Therefore, Superman is not identical with Clark Kent. In the eyes of Lois Lane, Superman is the hero she wants to marry while Clark Kent is just a regular guy. Unknowing to her, they are both the same person. Leibniz law shows that superman is known for all his super powers and special abilities and everyone thinks that Clark Kent is just a regular guy so the two could not be one of the same. When Lois lane marries Superman, she also marries Clark Kent which defeats the use of this law. This same law can be applied to the mind body problem being that you cannot doubt having a brain but you can doubt having a body. My body is dubitable, and it is divisible. My mind is indubitable and it is indivisible. With that, one can say that the mind and body are two different beings because they do not share the same properties. III. Descartes s Argument for Dualism: The Indubitability Argument The Indubitability Argument is basically saying I can think and perceive distinctly and clearly, therefore my mind exists; however, ... Bennett (1996) described that customer service seeks to establish long term, committed, trusting and cooperative relationship with customers, characterized by openness, genuine concern for the delivery of high quality services, responsiveness to customer suggestions, fair dealings and willingness to sacrifice short term advantage for long term gains. Schneider and Bowen (1999) advocated that service business can retain customers and achieve profitability by building reciprocal relationships founded on safeguarding and affirming customer security, fairness and self esteem. It requires that companies view customers as people first and consumers second. Trust, commitment, ethical practices, fulfillment of promises, mutual exchange, emotional bonding, personalization and customer orientation have been reported to be the key elements in the relationship building process (Levitt,1986; Gronroos, 1994; Morgan,1994; Gummesson,1994; Bejou et al,1998 ). These screens appear in restaurants, schools, at work, at home, and quite possibly more. What is forgotten in society is how that screen may affect the lives of the children in this modern world. When children are constantly watching a television screen there may be consequences to their health and education. Most parents do not have the ability to control what is shown on TV. Many programs disagreeably display marathons after school and during holidays. Supposedly, adult shows are only showed late at night, but with movies becoming more and more explicit, even bed time can t stop the most determined child. Children s ... Violence on television can also be damaging to a child s reaction to the world Kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them. (Gavin Online). When young children see these explicit scenes of violence on screen at that age, most cannot tell the difference from reality so, in the child s mind these bad thing could befall them. Violence occurs so much on shows and movies, some violent acts that happen in life are unnoticed The average American child will witness 200,000 violent acts on television by age 18. Kids may become desensitized to violence and more aggressive. (Gavin Online). It s important to teach the kids between right and wrong, but this becomes difficult when children are constantly surrounded by television, Even though kids are taught by their parents that it s not right to hit, television says it s OK to bite, hit, or kick if you re the good guy. But have you ever wondered about Apple s history and how it influences today s society? Back in 1970s, computers were very complex, had many chips, and hard to come by. This all changed in 1975, when Wozniak tested the Apple I s prototype. Sartre s famous quote that hell is other people (45) is illustrated through the interactions among Garcin, Inez and Estelle. Through psychological suffering the characters self destructive flaws are revealed which ultimately emphasizes how each of them are responsible for their own fate. The characters have the freedom of will to help redeem each other but choose not to. To subtly reinforce the theme, even the style of the play is psychologically wearing on the audience. Wal Mart has continually been a leader in the retail industry, and it all starts with the layout of the store. From the second that you pull into the Wal Mart parking lot you are already faced with an important decision, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another thing Wal Mart uses is many of their departments are cash wraps. Most of these cash wraps tended to be things like batteries, gum, candy, and soda. With Wal Mart being such a large store, many departments also have their own checkout counters that allow customers who are only looking for certain items to be able to get in and out. Wal Mart also uses end caps on almost every aisle in the store. These end caps are usually impulse buy items that are offering special promotional prices. Another thing that Wal Mart does is that it shelves their items based on frequency. The most popular items or the items that most consumers buy will be located in the beginning of the aisle and at eye level, while other infrequent items are placed lower on the shelves and more towards the end of the aisle. To accurately keep track of what items need to be restocked or what items are selling the best, Wal Mart uses a planogram. The planogram they use utilizes SKU s and will allow for employees to figure out exactly where everything goes and when it needs to be restocked. With Wal Mart being the leader in retail stores, it is obvious that they must be doing something right. While I was unable to figure out the profitability of space, I was able to find out that their grocery section is the least profitable and that their electronics section is the most profitable. ... • 17. Charlemagne Or Charles The Great Charlemagne or Charles the Great, (747 814) was one of the most significant people during the Middle Ages, playing a key role in defining the shape and character of Medieval Europe. Considered the Father of Europe , Charlemagne reigned as King of the Franks (768 814) and became the first Holy Roman Emperor (800 814). He created a great empire as he dramatically expanded the Frankish Kingdom in a series of conquests that united most of Western Europe for the first time since the Roman Empire. He also introduced many governmental, cultural and economic reforms to further his great Carolingian Empire. Additionally the Emperor fostered the Carolingian renaissance, a time of great cultural and intellectual revival and reinforced the Christian foothold on Europe. Charlemagne s role in Medieval Europe was as a complete leader and emperor, one that effectively managed every aspect of his empire. As King of the Franks, Charlemagne played the role of a warrior king, constantly engaged in warfare and through his conquests he no longer ruled a Kingdom but a veritable empire. When the fall of the Roman Empire led to its dissolution in Western Europe, it caused a fragmented collection of Kingdoms. As Charlemagne united these fragments he needed to reconstruct the structures of a complex society and maintain unity within his realm, which was complicated by the differences between his people. Due to this, Charlemagne s role was as an effective administrator, and he instituted many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. The Horror Of Action Adventure The action adventure genre has long been considered the easiest kind of book or movie to sell. People believe that the similarities, which are universal throughout the genre and many times very obvious in the most popular books and movies, are just a product of the author s laziness and overdone clichĂ©s. Yet action adventure still remains one of the most popular and most generally liked types. This is because the genre of action adventure fills the holes that are created, in our lives, by modern society and help people cope with its stress. The most affective of these are ability to escape the problems of the world, the feeling of making a difference, being able to become the main character, and the ability to sate the violent nature of humanity. All these things combined make the action adventure genres one of the most popular genera, if not the most popular, in the world. The average person s life nowadays has the same amount of stress as a patient in an insane asylum 50 years ago, or at least it seems like that to many. People have a lot to worry about nowadays mortgages, bills, education, job security, family and health issues, the dangers in the world, among others, and with all these worries and the stress that comes with them, they welcome the ability to turn off their brain and enjoy a meaningless story. Picking up and reading any book, or watching a movie, transports them to a new world free from their problems and their worries of the world. Action adventure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary Of On Dumpster Diving Nic Laycock J.Berte Composition 1 FD16 Summary and Analysis On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner s On Dumpster Diving (Published is a first person informative essay that explores the art of Dumpster diving. Almost presented as a user guide or instructional piece his key message is about the wastefulness of consumers and the shallowness of materialism. About a year before he became homeless, Eighner began sourcing all of his life necessities from dumpsters because of a lack of money as all his income was spent on rent. He makes the claim that it is possible to survive and be content with life simply by living off the refuse and waste of others. Through his experiences as a scavenger, Eighner educates and teaches others about dumpster diving and materialism. He states I have learned much as a scavenger. I mean to put some of what I have learned down here, beginning with the practical art of Dumpster diving and proceeding to the abstract. (560) Eighner begins by revealing the most ... Eighner argues that materialistic objects themselves are not as important as the sentiments behind them. The fact that Eighner can survive and live happily off others waste effectively persuades the reader to reflect and ask questions of themselves. • 20. Symbolism In Eugene Onegin Symbolism can be seen in everyday life. For example, the image of a caduceus will normally invoke the thoughts of medicine or a doctor s office. But a caduceus does not mean medicine. In fact, it is seen in mythology as the staff of Hermes, who was the messenger for the gods, conductor of the dead, and protector of merchants and thieves. However, in modern days, the caduceus has become a symbol for medicine. In literature, authors typically use symbols to better engage their readers in the story, by making them reflect and think about the story rather than just reading it. Symbols can also often communicate more meaning than simply stating the idea itself. In Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin, the moon is mentioned quite frequently. Upon first reading the novel, the reader may not notice any significance with this. However, with further investigation it is easy to see that the moon represents Tatyana and her mystical and mysterious ways. When the reader is first introduced to Tatyana at the party that Eugene Onegin (the hero of the story) and Vladimir Lensky (a young poet who is in love with Tatyana s younger sister, Olga), the narrator goes into explaining how Tatyana was an odd sort of girl, who was not in to childish games: Upon her balcony appearing, She loved to greet Aurora s show, When dancing stars are disappearing Against the heavens pallid glow, When earth s horizon softly blushes, And wind, the morning s herald, rushes, And slowly day begins it flight. He is a Republican running for president in the election of 2016. I believe he has had a positive effect on the election because I don t think he s just doing it for the money and that he speaks the truth about what the changes the United Sates needs. The first reason I think Donald trump would be a good president is because he speaks the truth and is honest about what he wants to do to change America. For example, Trump wants to build a wall on the boarder of United States and Mexico so illegal immigrants can t come into America and commit crimes and not pay taxes because the government doesn t know that they are illegal ... The reason I think that is because he already has a lot of money, for jobs, he is a business man, television personality, author, investor, politician and more. Some people such as Muslims, Mexicans, and Democrats might think that Donald Trump has had a negative effect on the presidential election because they might think he says and does mean things to people. But what he wants to do is fix America by, strengthening the army, shut down parts of the internet where Isis can not us it to recruit American people. And provide more funding for police training and a lot more. In my opinion he s saying what should be done to make America better than what it is now. However, these gains have not been seen equally across different regions, genders, and socioeconomic classes. Various cofactors impact the quality and quantity of life for individuals. Interactions between both intrinsic and extrinsic aging contribute to variations in lifespan seen between people. The idea that we are in control of how we age is comforting and troublesome as the level of control is often varied. Numerous health promoting behaviors have been strongly associated with reduced age related health concerns and a higher quality of life. Refraining from smoking, active lifestyle choices, and frequent social participation all have health promoting tendencies, traits like these could be considered highly available with few barriers to achieving their benefits. Meaning everyone should be able to improve there projected aging by engaging in such traits. Improving Patient Throughput In the Emergency Department Introduction St. Vincent s Medical Center, a 501 bed facility located in Jacksonville, Florida, provides general medical and surgical care to the North Florida Region. St. Vincent s admits over 26,000 patients annually. The average occupancy rate is approximately 84% with the Emergency Department (ED) peeking at 100% for approximately 4 12 hours daily. The hospital is struggling with availability of bed space. This shortage of available beds creates a bottleneck in the ED on high census days. Bottlenecks are created in the ED when there is a shortage of inpatient beds to place admitted ED patients. Thus, patient flow, or throughput, is becoming more and more important. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patients arriving in the ED are triaged by a nurse then placed in an ED room according to their acuity. After being evaluated by a physician, the patient is either released to home or admitted. When the decision is made for the patient to be admitted, a request for an inpatient bed is placed to nursing administration who then assigns an available bed. If there is not an appropriate bed available, the patient must remain in the ED bed. This effectively reduces the capacity of the ED causing the department to either divert patients or patients will leave without being seen. Every patient who is diverted or leaves without being seen is lost opportunity cost to the hospital. Patient Volumes Patient volumes vary greatly in the ED. There are, however, patterns noted in census fluctuations according to the day of the week. High census days are historically early in the week, while lower census usually occurs later in the week. On days when the census is high throughout the hospital, there will be patients holding in the ED awaiting inpatient beds.
