There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

1. Corporate social responsibility is a term that conveys a corporation s social responsibility to society.
In the old days corporations felt that once they had gained support from the public they had a
responsibility to give back to the community. This idea of giving back meant serving as volunteers and
providing financial contributions in aim of correcting the problems of the community. Corporations
have a wide range of opportunity and reach within most societies so it is important and can ultimately
be a great aid for a corporation to help in correcting the problems of society by contributing and
giving back along with other individuals. I also believe that corporate social responsibility means
ensuring that there are not problems arising that make it hard for consumers to continue to support a
corporation. The continuation of a corporation is dependent upon consumers and I believe it is the ...

3. The Lost Type Co-Op
As I was searching through various font foundries through Google search I came across one that
piqued my interest the font foundry was Lost Type Co Op. They caught my eye because they have
produced some really great vintage and retro style fonts. I also chose this font foundry because they
have an unusual font buying system where they leave their visitors with the choice to pay what they
can afford for the fonts on the site. They left it this way expecting people to have a moral code and to
pay what they felt the font was deserving; as well as giving designers with little means the ability to
purchase fonts to use in their designs. After doing a little digging through more searches I found the
history of how the Lost Type Co Op was founded. It originally started off as a bet between the co
founders Riley Cran and Tyler Galpin after finding a 1940 s Ball glass jar poster both designers were
enamored with the secondary font promoting the glass jars. Cran bet Galpin that he could produce a
full alphabet of the font face in 24 hours; Galpin said if he could he would make a website for the font.
24 hours and some collaboration later the Font Muncie was completed. They offered Muncie up to the
design community as a completely free typeface. After some thought they decided to try to make it a
go as a font service; and started to call other design friends who were turning towards creating fonts
for their design work. After a few months they had a selection of thirty different

Different people and that s where the narrator of the Cathedral by Raymond Carver gets his ignorance
from. However, the hostility of the narrator stems from the relationship his wife has with the blind
man Robert. Robert may be the blind person in this story but the narrator is the one with limitations in
sight. Even though the narrator can physically see, he himself places limitations on what he can see,

Roberts sense of reality confuses the narrator because he could not understand how a blind man could
have such appreciation for the things he could not see. After a few drinks and a little marijuana, the
narrator finds himself exploring the limits of Roberts sight and helps Robert visualize a cathedral.
even though the narrator is beginning to be a little more comfortable with Robert he still cannot open
his mind up enough to be able to fully describe the cathedrals to him. He says, The truth is, cathedrals
don t mean anything special to me. Nothing. Cathedrals. They re something to look at on late night
TV. (page 45). It was then the true true lesson began; Robert went on to the floor next to the narrator
and they began to draw the cathedral together. Robert had the narrator close his eyes so he can try to
understand and visualize while drawing the cathedrals. The narrator was finally able to get out of his
own mind and stop being so critical of others and open up to the new possibilities of what he can learn
from others. In the end, with his eyes closed, not at all focused on what he has been drawing but rather
on something he can t comprehend, the narrator feels free I was in my house. I knew that. But I didn t
feel like I was inside anything. (page46). The narrator was no longer trapped and isolated in his own
mind and what was once an uncomfortable situation for him, but rather part of a greater

5. One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest By Ken Kesey
In Ken Kesey s book, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, there were two main characters that were in
a battle to have the majority of control over the ward. Throughout the story, they engaged in different
acts of stubbornness to see who could display the most power and which of the two could stand their
ground the longest without giving in to the other. These two characters were: Randle McMurphy, a
new patient who was determined to change the ways of the ward, and Nurse Ratched, the head nurse
of the asylum who preferred to have complete control over everyone and everything.

He says, Just as I said: any of you sharpies here willing to take my five bucks that says that I can get
the best of that woman, before the week s up, without her getting the best of me? (73) This quote
shows that McMurphy is very self assured that he can accomplish what he sets his mind to. The ward
was not used to this kind of behavior in a man. Most of the men that were already there needed to be
there because of an actual insanity problem, but McMurphy was there because he would rather have
been there than where he was before and the court had allowed him to be transferred. McMurphy took
them completely by surprise with his resistance to follow their instructions and to do what he was
expected to do. At his arrival, he immediately exhibited disobedience. He refused to take a shower,
which was the asylum s policy for new admissions. This instantly put Randle McMurphy under the
staff s radar for them to watch out for. Nurse Ratched (also known as Big Nurse) was used to being
forceful to get what she wanted. She stopped at no end to have complete oversight over the men in the
ward. When the men were in the nurse s presence they were either saying what they knew she wanted
to hear or cleaning something that she ordered them to clean. They knew not to speak out against her
and to not say something that would make you stand out too much. Ratched s tactics to get them to be

8. Anthropogenic Sound Lab
The purpose of the experiment was to measure the effects of water on sound, as the density of the
water is gradually increased by adding salt to the water. The experiment is based on the question: How
is sound effected by traveling through water of various densities? The variables that were tested for
were velocity, frequency, wavelength, period and amplitude of the sound. The group wanted to
analyze several characteristics of sound to be able to observe multiple patterns that sound follows
while it moves through water of increasing density. We hypothesized that the velocity of sound would

According to a new research by N.Y.U, people living on below average income, which happen to be
mostly made up of the locals of San Francisco, gain the most from shared economies. The researchers
conclusion is that ride sharing has a disproportionately positive effect on lower income consumers
because poorer groups are more likely to switch from owning to renting and are more likely to
contribute supply and demand to a marketplace, aiding its success (Schiller). The shared economy
makes it easier for locals to make money on side which will then help them from being pushed out. As

17. Summary Of Hard Times By Charles Dickens
Angelina Almanzar
ENGL 35701: 19th Century British Novel
Professor Elizabeth Weybright
27 June 2016
Utilitarianism in Hard Times
During the Victorian Era, many philosophers focused on utilitarian philosophy and ways of thinking,
choosing the best decisions and actions for their own self interest. In his novel, Hard Times, Charles
Dickens satirizes the English educational system, society, and economics, but most importantly,
through them, he criticizes the many abuses of utilitarianism. Many writers such as Bornali Nath
Dowerah and Ali Taghizadeh have done research on Dicken s work mostly focusing on utilitarianism
and its negative impacts on society especially on those of the lower class.
Charles Dickens, the most renowned social commentator of his time, criticized the ills of society as he
commiserates with those who were affected the most by social and economical abuses. According to
the article Charles Dickens as Social Commentator and Critic published on the Victorian Web
(www.victorianweb.org/authors/dickens/diniejko.html), Dickens was not only very successful in
exposing what was wrong with society, but also in exposing the ills of the utilitarian theory which at
the time rejected the human imagination or fancy. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which as we may
know recommends ethical recommendations for everyday life, thus making hard decision making
easier for us. This theory mostly focuses on moral action, holding on to the belief that people s

18. Roe Vs Wade Case Study
ROE v. WADE
Supreme Court of the United States,
5th Circuit, 1983.
410 U.S. 113.
FACTS The prosecution, Jane Roe, a pregnant single women brought a class action lawsuit in an
effort to challenge the laws in Texas surrounding abortion and their constitutionality. Texas laws made
it illegal to have an abortion without the medical direction of a medical professional, in which case it
would be for the health and well being of the pregnant mother. The respondents made up of Dr.
Hallford who was criminally charged with for violating Texas abortion laws; and a married couple
with no children, the Does, who sought to fight the enforcement of Texas abortion laws by the
government for being unconstitutional. The defendant was Henry Wade, the county District ... Show

REASON The court held that it is the primary responsibility of the pregnant women s physician to
determine the termination of pregnancy during the first trimester. During the second trimester, the
State is allowed to intervene in the termination of an unborn fetus with legitimate interest in the
pregnant women s health. The State would intervene by regulating the procedures surrounding the
women s health. In the third trimester, the State may regulate the procedures surrounding the women s
health and even prohibiting the abortion altogether, keeping the pregnant women s health a top
priority. The Supreme Court of the United States held that the lawsuit regarding pregnancy, is an
exception to the general rule that a difference must occur during each stage of the judicial review, and
not only when the action is proposed. The Does complaint searching for injunctive relief was solely
based on the contingencies which might or might not have occurred. It was irrelevant for the Court to
decide Dr. Hallford s case for injunctive relief, because once the Supreme Court found the laws
unconstitutional, the Texas Government were not allowed to enforce them. The dissenting opinion of
Justice Rehnquist was that the right to an abortion is not widely accepted by everyone, and that the
right to privacy on the matter of abortion is not constitutionally involved in this case. In addition,
Justice White made his dissenting opinion based on the constitutional foundations surrounding Jane
Roe and the Does, stating: In every other case, there was something in the Constitution you could
point to for support. There, nothing. Justice White would later conclude that he would return the issue

20. The Cartographer Wasps And The Anarchist Bees Summary
The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees by E. Lily Yu tells the fictional story of the
relationship between an overpowering wasp community and a docile bee community. The wasps take
over the bees, basically rule over them, and instill their very different way of life on them. A group of
anarchist bees that oppose the wasp government secretly escape and begin a new community. The
story abruptly ends though when both the cartographer wasps and anarchist bees die from humans and
the cold. Throughout The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees, Yu creates tension to build
toward the climax. Simply put, tension is trouble on the page. Writers use it to create conflict and
make readers uneasy, off balance, worry or hope. Yu employs tension multiple times in this piece. One
being on page 23, when the foundress wasp has the first two ambassador bees killed upon arrival and
then finally meets with the third and has a very aggressive conversation. In this scene the foundress
wasp lays out what she demands from the bees, like a portion of their food and some of their larvae.

The story introduces an anarchist bee (someone that rejects government) on page 28. It then goes on to
explain how anarchism is a heritable trait, thus as the anarchist bees reproduced, more were introduced
into the hive. The anarchist bees continue to spread their beliefs making readers hopeful that the bees
will be able to escape their wasp rulers. When one anarsist bee is explaining to her sister about
anarchy she says this: In order to imagine a new existence, we must free ourselves from the structures
of both our failed government and the unjustifiable hegemony of the wasps nests. which foreshadows
that the anarchist bees will escape and start a new life. This scene is tension filled because it makes
readers hopeful for the bees and wonder if and how they will accomplish that

22. Comparing Women in Anna Akhmatova’s Lot’s Wife,...
Powerful Women in Anna Akhmatova s Lot s Wife, Crucifixion, and Rachel
But Lot s wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (New Geneva Study Bible,
Gen. 19. 26). Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James and Joseph), and
Zebedee s wife, the mother of James and John (Matt. 27:56). Jacob went over to the well and rolled
away the stone and watered his uncle s flock. Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and tears came to his
eyes...But when Jacob woke up in the morning it was Leah! What sort of trick is this? Jacob raged at
Laban. I worked seven years for Rachel. What do you mean by this trickery? (Gen. 29). These are

At the conclusion of the poem, Rachel is given a whimsical voice in Jacob s dream. She beckons,
Jacob, was it you who kissed me, loved me, and called me your black dove? (55). Through
Akhmatova s poem, Rachel is no longer the flat character on the page with no emotions, but she is
pleading to be loved, her heart is breaking, and she becomes a woman with wrenching emotions.
In only eight brief lines in Crucifixion, Akhmatova, by contrasting Mary with other characters,
illumines the heart of the mother of Jesus. The poem begins with vivid imagery describing the natural
upheaval that occurred at the hour of Jesus last breath on the cross. The reader must pity Mary because
she witnesses her son, taking his final breath, painfully questioning his Father and then in contrast
turning to his mother and only telling her not to cry. How could a woman be expected to not be pained
at the death of her son? Again, Mary is contrasted with Jesus friends Mary Magdalene and Peter. Both
of their reactions to the crucifixion in the Bible are described, but Mary is left as a blank slate,
standing alone beneath the cross where no one as much as dared to look that way (94). Akhmatova
points out that in the Bible Jesus own mother is overlooked and she effectively evokes pity from the

Industrial policy is more common in countries in Asia. Carbaugh used Japan as an example of
industrial policy by explaining how Japan did so with some of their key industries. According to
Schuman, many analysts have made the mistake of believing Asia s ascent was crafted by its
bureaucrats, when in fact, it was created by its businessmen. The future of the American economy, too,
will be found in its private boardrooms, not government offices. Schuman may be onto something.
There are pros and cons to every approach. The key if finding the right balance that creates a win win
situation for all involved.
Trade Problems of Developing Nations Many developing nations tend to try manufacturing as a way
to become active in the international trade market. These nations offer cheap labor to companies. This
cheap labor tends to give some of the population a better life and a way to provide for their families.
Issues that arise in developing countries is that if the demand for commodities is low and the changes
in price do not bring a change in demand, then prices can fall sharply. When prices fall, so does
revenue. If companies are not making money, they may move out of the country to another area.
Import Substitution and Export led Growth Import substitution is when industries producing goods
that are normally imported are protected from foreign competition. This allows an industry to have
growth and to establish themselves.

Ever since the inception of Psychology as a scientific field people have wondered of the origins ,

one man smart ,and another dull. Early england thought that they could correlate the size of a man s
head with his intelligence. Though it was only when psychologists started testing people using exams
aimed at cognitive processes did real scientific theories start to emerge. The question I began with

linked to genetics. He was not responsible for the introduction of cognitive testing to psychology ,but
he came up with a formula that corrected a coefficient used in analyzing test results which assured that
correlation in scores was correctly displayed. He found that success in one area of the test usually
assured success in most areas. Spearman acknowledged that people could develop talents outside of
those he measured ,but he attributed them to more skill/experience than innate mental ability. Modern
research has uncovered that the G factor is comparable to a rate, People with higher levels of G learn
more with less time , less assistance than those with lower levels.
Research that supports this theory is that scientists placed various people under a CAT scan while
providing simple stimulation. People predicted to have higher G factors from iq tests were shown to
be faster at responding to simple stimuli. Additionally recreations of the experiment in various places
show that it does in fact transcend the borders of culture. Additionally there has been for a long time, a
direct correlation with iq , success. People with higher iq s are more likely to make it into higher
education, get a impressive career , generally succeed. For people with lower intelligence the exact
inverse was found in addition to being more likely to commit a crime.

searched by the military for no good reason.

about religion different that she had been taught be her father. It was in Aunty Ifeoma s house that
Kambili understood her grandfather s traditionalist religion and was able to make a link between

As is most of my life it would seem. I can relate to a lesser extent in that most nights I had a four hour
time period a day of being alone. With those four hours I had to come up with things to do, sure there

Your question concerns the implementation of Senate Bill 14, which added new voter identification
requirements for in person voting statewide. Prior to June 26, 2013; Texas and a number of other
states and political subdivisions could not alter their voting requirements without preclearance from
either the U.S. Attorney General or a three judge panel sitting for the U.S. District Court of the District
of Columbia. Following the Supreme Court decision in Shelby County, Ala. v. Holder, states beholden
to the preclearance requirement were released, subject to an amendment to the coverage formula in §
4(b) of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While you understand that Texas now has equal ability to alter
its election procedures as states never covered by § 4(b), you desire to do so in a way that would not
again bring the Texas legislature s exercise of authority under the scrutiny of Congress or the
Constitution. Senate Bill 14 amended, most significantly, Sec. 63.0101 of the Election Code the

Race as Precursors to Identity, Enrique Neblett looked at the patterns of racial socialization in a

36. Analyzing Themes Throughout Edgar Allen Poe s Short Stories
Andrew Diamond
Guadagnino
English 3

Themes Throughout Edgar Allen Poe s Stories Edgar Allen Poe exhibits many different themes
throughout his poems and short stories, most readers see his stories as consistently and exclusively
putting death at the fore front in themes but there are countless other themes that Poe puts in his
stories and poems. These themes include love, uncertainty, subconscious self, nature, human
imagination, hope and despair so one can see that Poe is not as death oriented as many people think
and say he is. The first theme I will be focusing on in this evaluation is death, Poe wrote many if not
most of his short stories and poems focusing on death for example in Eldorado the main character can
only fulfill his goals through dying, another example is The Raven where the main character is
increasingly focused on imminent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the story Telltale Heart the narrator for nights on end ponders in detail of how he will kill the old
man who is living in his house while trying to explain how he has not lost his own sanity this
depiction of the human imagination ties directly into Poe s theme of death because he not only thinks
about how he will kill he old man but inevitably kills the old man and hides him under the floor
boards of his home. Nature, this theme is an underlying one and is not easily picked out of his stories
yet the connection can still be made, in the short story The City in the Sea the city that had once
prospered inevitably gets destroyed and sinks to hell, this gives the reader the idea that Poe does not
like urbanized life and prefers nature. To support this idea, you can also make the connection that
many of the Protagonists in Poe s stories and poems wander around in forests and other natural areas
to discover something about their selves and have an epiphany you could call it like in the story

37. Automatic Fertilizers Affect The Economy
stabilizers are corporate and personal taxes as they can greatly affect the economy. Another great
example of them are are transfer system such as unemployment insurance and welfare (Investopedia).
These are called automatic because of how they employ automatically without the government
interfering. For example, with the transfer systems such as unemployment insurance decline when the
economy is in an expansionary phase and doing very well and rise when the economy is doing not as
good and in a very bad phase(Investopedia). Another great example is taxes when the economy is in a
boom and signs are looking very good then taxes go up and when the economy is struggling taxes go
down to help stabilize and balance the economy out again (Investopedia). ... Show more content on

With cyclical deficit the GDP slows or inflation increases. It shrinks and gets smaller when GDP
accelerates or inflation decreases. The deficit in cyclical deficit grows when the economy goes into
recession and declines when we come out of a recession. This effects many things for example when
the economy is slowing down and not doing very well then tax revenues decline, unemployment
benefits rise, and other transfer payments rise. This causes an even higher budget deficit. However,
when the economy is accelerating and doing very well then tax revenues increase, unemployment
benefits decrease, and other transfer payments decline then the economy starts heading the right way.
Structural deficits are a little different in the fact that they are federal revenues at full employment
minus expenses at full employment under prevailing fiscal policy. Structural deficits reflect the
discretionary fiscal policies decisions. This deficit is created by congress by drawing up, creating, and
implementing fiscal policies. However, part of the deficit does arise from cyclical changes the rest of
it though does come from discretionary fiscal policy. So many times the congress has a direct effect on
the budget deficit as there fiscal polices do create a huge deficit. Sure sometimes those polices are
very important but they are

38. The Geologic Scale Of Dinosaurs
The earth has existed for about 4.6 billion years; the geologic scale divides all of these years into
sections, much like chapters in a book. Each of these sections is unique because it shows all of the
changes on earth s surface throughout the years. The largest of these sections on the geologic scale is
eons. Eons are also divided into another two sections call ears. Eras are then divided into periods and
then periods are divided into epochs. The reasons why the sections have been divided are either
because major organisms developed or went extinct. Organisms go extinct because they either run out
of space or food, or the environment changes making it hard for some organisms to survive the new
environment (Ghose). Dinosaurs started developing after a mass extinction of the Paleozoic Era just
about 125 million years ago. Dinosaurs lived through the Mesozoic Era then later died off during
another mass extinction about 65 million years ago, starting the beginning of the Cenozoic Era.
Almost all dinosaurs and half of the other plants and animals went extinct, some scientist think that an
asteroid hit the earth wiping out everything in sight. At the beginning of the Cenozoic Era, which still
continues today, scientist have a better understanding of this era because humans are living through it
and are able to document everything that happens throughout the years. (Gammon) When the average
person thinks of dinosaurs they envision a big ferocious reptile. Which is mainly true but

39. The Effects of Poverty on Education Essay
In today s world people need to compete globally for jobs and one of the most important factors in
getting a good paying job is education. However, even the best schools cannot overcome some of the
obstacles placed in front of the students that walk through their doors. Poverty, chaotic home
environments, discrepancies in exposure to technology, and lack of funding for schools all negatively
impact the effort to educate children. In today s economic environment even the wealthiest states and
districts are having to cut funding for education, while districts which were already teetering on the
edge are now in an even worse position. In some schools children have to face not having enough

With the current recession and foreclosure crisis, more families are facing homelessness than ever
before. This presents additional struggles for children and the schools who educate them. Since many
of the students have no fixed place to stay, they could bounce from school to school providing no
stability for education, or in some areas these children are transported back to their original home
school sometimes causing kids to be on busses for long commutes. When children face a lack of
stability in the classroom it is easier to fall behind, and teachers might only begin to see deficiencies in
skills after observing work for a while it could lead a student to fall further behind every day. Even
when children have a stable home there are other family life factors that can affect their progress at
school. Child neglect, drugs, alcohol, gangs, violence, and hunger can all have a significant impact on
how children learn both at school and at home. A child s first educational experience should be at
home, however with increasing use of drugs and alcohol, and sometimes unintentional neglect from
not being able to afford quality daycare means that some children entering the classroom are woefully
unprepared. Although poverty affects every nationality there are races that traditionally are more

41. Explain Why Some Presenters Avoid Eye Contact
Why do some presenters avoid eye contact? How does that make you feel as an audience member?
Some presenters avoid making eye contact during their presentation because of the following reasons:
Presenters who don t know their content avoid eye contact because they lack confidence that they can
deliver their speech successfully. They feel nervous for not being fully prepared and any negative
reaction from the audience will make them feel more uneasy.
Presenters who memorize their presentation avoid eye contact because they don t like to see any
negative expressions from the audience that might make them lose focus and forget what they are
about to say. Staring at the ceiling or wall helps them to concentrate and remembers what they need

Civil Peace. One rarely hears those two words together. It is usually either Civil War, or perhaps Civil
Chaos, but rarely is it Civil Peace. This is because it is not the times of peace that are remembered, but
the times of war. It is during these times that people truly shine as the need arises or are exposed for
their truer, more evil selves. Like Jamie Sullivan said in A Walk to Remember, There would be no
compassion without suffering. Chinua Achebe s Civil Peace is a story about going through hardships
and never forgetting what is most important.
Civil Peace is set in the early 1970 s in the country of Nigeria. There had been a civil war in the late

Jonathan also checks up on his old mining job, but after finding that it had become an unpredictable
job, he decides to focus on his bar. Some time after, he receives a 20 pound egg rasher for turning in
rebel money. Then, that night, after Jonathan finally falls asleep after being anxious about receiving
the egg rasher, someone begins to knock on the door. Jonathan and his family wake up and begin
yelling to try to wake up the soldiers, but to no avail. Then, in a mockery of them, the gang begins
yelling the same thing. Jonathan asks them what they want, and the leader responds with a request for
100 pounds and a threat of gunfire, which makes Maria and the children cry. Jonathan then tells them
that he only has 20 pounds, and that they could search his house and if they find more, they could kill
him and his family. The leader accepts the 20 pounds and leaves. The story ends with Jonathan telling
his sympathizers that the loss of the egg rasher is nothing important to him, that more important things
were lost in the war, and that he is content with what he has.
There are quite a few symbols in this story. Jonathan Iwegbu symbolizes all people in this world, all
having their own miracles and blessings, and conflicts and hardships. Jonathan s family represents
those that help people enjoy their blessings and get through their hardships. The bicycle, the house,
and the egg rasher all symbolize the things in this world

44. Taking A Personality Test And Seeing If They Match With...
The purpose of this paper is about taking a personality test and seeing if they match with someone s
career choices. There is a famous one that is mostly used was developed by Carl G. Jung and was later
modified by Isabel Myers Briggs. This test is common to be used by someone that is trying to find
their career path before college and some employers use it to see if someone is a fit in their company.
But can a test like this can really define that a career is perfect for someone or can it tell an employer
if they could be a good employee. They can give someone an idea on possible careers path but that
person would have to be happy with their choice. The test could help someone to determine what
careers that could be the most fulfilling or rewarding and are most successful in. One of the reasons
why someone would take this type of test to see what possible careers they may be good at. One of the
thing that this type of test looks at is to see what personalities would work well together. If they
employees cannot work well with each other then it would cause conflict in the work place and it
would disrupt the place of business. Conflict can happen in a place of business from team members to
different departments. It can even happen between employee and boss or direct department supervisor.
Extrovert types tend to speak out and what is on their mind where an introvert will more than likely
have their own conclusion. So it could be a conflict of personalities of an extrovert

45. The Symbolism Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Bram Stoker s Dracula appears to be a novel predicated upon a racist worldview. 1897, its publication
year, was marked by anxieties resulting from the decline of the British Empire from its previous
position of hegemony. The increasing unrest in British colonies endangered British imperialism, race,
and its cultural conventions, rendering society susceptible to the fear of reverse colonization: the
infiltration and influence of former territories. Dracula, travelling to England from Romania, is
employed to symbolise this threat. Arata s most thought provoking note is that vampires as an entity
are generated by racial enervation and the decline of empire. Thus, by utilizing a foreign vampire as
the antagonist of his work, Stoker exploits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A pertinent instant being the sisters first appearance: two [of the sisters] were dark, and had high
aquiline noses, like the Count. In this line, the dark sisters are analogous to Dracula, assumedly of the
same ethnic origin. Yet, the other was fair [...] with [...] golden hair and eyes like pale sapphires,
evidently not of the same ethnicity. Thus it is interesting that she is described in more favourable terms
than the darker, golden hair and eyes like sapphires are reminiscent of wealth and western beauty.
Contrast this with the red, piercing eyes of the other sisters, which oppose the softer, safer image of
the fairer. The passage is narrated by Jonathan Harker, whose first person perspective is influenced by
his ethnicity; he sees the sisters through the lens of anxieties plaguing the Victorian British. Hence the
distress concerning reverse colonization is palpable, Stoker presents through Harker the ease
surrounding those of Western origin, and the discomfort towards outsiders.
Stoker s distinction between races is progressively evident in the attack of Harker: the other two urged
her [the fair sister] on. One said: Go on! You are first, [...] yours is the right to begin. That the most
Western of the three has the right exemplifies British imperialism. Being westernised inherently lends
greater power, presenting the western supremacist perspective that predicated Dracula. Dracula,
particularly the slaying of the Count, is in line with other characteristic nineteenth century works that
seek to justify British

46. Essay on Women s Roles and World War II
If you were born right now, this instant, at you re present age without any knowledge about how
women used to be treated, the assumption could be made that men and women are basically equal.
Yes, men are a little stronger physically, but overall the two sexes are both equal. Things weren t
always so picturesque, though. Since people first settled here, on what is now the United States of
America, women were thought of as inferior. Ever so slowly though, the men s view on women began
to change. The change started in the 1920 s but it was going slowly and needed a catalyst. World War
II was that catalyst. So much so that women ended up participating in the rise of the United States to a
global power.

Thus where there were men in jobs before, there was nobody and with that women flowed into
factories and offices, taking over jobs previously thought that only men could do (Palmer, Colton,

May 22, 1942, will surely go down on the record, predicted the Christian Science Monitor. It was the
day that women joined up with the army... It was obvious; the U.S. needed a larger military force.
Thus women joined the army within organizations. From there came Oveta Culp Hobby, the director
for the first American military organization of women. This organization was called the WAAC
(Women s Army Auxiliary Corps). Many people were impressed by the strength of the WAAC and it
is said that within three months, the AAF was discussing the possibilities of obtaining more members
of the WAAC (Weatherford, p.34).
In 1943 there was a U.S. male pilot shortage. In August, the WASPS (Women Airforce Service Pilots),

were used mainly used for ferrying bomber and fighter planes from factories to airbases. Even in the
Airforce, while helping the men, women were still antagonized by the men. The WASPS lasted only
for one year and in 1944, when the male pilot shortage ended, a proposal to make the WASPS a part of
the Airforce was submitted. The

The concern of whether elementary school age children should require adult supervision, or should be
trusted alone has been discussed. For parents, the task of providing care and attention for their
children while juggling their other responsibilities as parents, has become complex and debate
whether it is appropriate to leave children on their own. Many tend to believe, that young children
should be supervised at all times, while others opine that children need their space. The reality is,
elementary school age children require a balance of adult supervision as needed depending on
scenarios, but as well as their time of independence when time permits based on the scenario and a

Supervision of children should be a norm that parents and their adolescents should be accustomed to.
Not only does supervision offer a protective barrier to assure that children are safe, but as well aid in
establishing a bond of trust between adults and kids. Aside from establishing a bond, the supervision
of children has statistically proven that cases of kidnapping and sexual assault committed against
children have gone down due to the increase of administration over children. In scenarios such these,
where a child is left at a park on their own with no adult, such as Deborah Harrell s case of leaving her
nine year old daughter alone at a park as she went to work, adult supervision is required. If any harm
was to occur to Harrell s daughter, such as an injury, kidnap attempt, or even sexual assault, the lack of
adult attention would have been the cause as to why a tragedy could have occurred. Despite the fact
that ..data indicates that child abuse reports tend to go down over the summer.. (Belinda Luscombe), it
does not suggest that child abuse cases do not occur. Cooperation
