White Blood Cell Pathogens
In a single drop of blood, there is about 7,000 25,000 white blood cells. The white blood cell works
for the immune system. The white blood cell is small and it is shaped like an oval to move quickly
around the body and to not get stuck. The main function of the white blood cell is to kill any pathogen
that tries to harm the human body system. When a group of cancer called leukemia attacks the bone
marrow, it cause the bone marrow to produce abnormal white blood cells that do not function properly.
The white blood cell is part of the immune system. The cells in the immune system distinguish
between different kinds of pathogens. Then the immune system makes a defense targeted specifically
at that pathogen. Lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, produce proteins that help damage or kill
the pathogen. There are five kinds of white blood cells that produce different antibodies to help defend
against different kinds of pathogens. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the lungs, and they also help
release carbon dioxide. (Textbook). White blood cells are round like an oval, small, and has a big
nucleus to move efficiently and to help direct other white blood cells to the invader. White blood cells

When the white blood cell count is low, you are vulnerable to bacteria and viruses. Leukemia, a group
of cancers, affects blood forming tissue, and the bone marrow. Leukemia causes your bone marrow to
produce abnormal white blood cells that do not function normally. A person with cancer can get a low
white blood cell count from the cancer or from treatment for cancer. Cancer may be in the bone
marrow, causing fewer white blood cells to be made (medlineplus.gov 1).When the body s white
blood cell count is too high, it could mean you have an infection, stress, or

Reed Erikson Summary
The article interested me because I didn t know that people identified as transgender as early as the
mid 1800s. The incidents at Cooper s Donuts and the Dewey Incident to me we sort of similar because
intersectionality placed a part in how some of the people were treated. I also learned that most the
activist during this era was nontransgendered men and transgendered women. Reed Erikson was an
important person in this movement because he was also transgender, and he funded a lot of their
causes. His funding was influential because this way he educated a lot of people that were
transgendered especially in a time period were being transgendered was taboo. Also in the time that
Erikson was doing his work others were organizing spaces for transgender

Exploring The Depth Of Romance And How Coppola s Dracula
Rationale:
My feature article will be exploring the depth of romance and how and why Coppola decided to
develop theses deep ideas of love. I will also be discussing Coppola s decision to use very old film
techniques. This is will allow the reader of the feature article to further understand why Coppola did
the things that he did and therefore allow them to have a better understanding of the film. I will also be
exploring the attitudes, values and beliefs that were held in the time period of the original novel and
how Coppola developed and presented that to a modern 90 s audience. TRUE LOVE S DARK BITE
Francis Ford Coppola s 1992 hit, Bram Stoker s Dracula, reimagines the timeless Dracula tale and
creates a twisted love story that allows contemporary audiences an insight into a surprisingly relatable
fable, as Taylor Ellison explores... Bram Stoker s Dracula
Love is not black and white and Francis Ford Coppola s ageless classic Bram Stoker s Dracula
epitomises the many layers that come with romance. The dark love story highlights the romance of the
gothic horror and still manages to convey the fear and terror that cemented the original novel as an
iconic and memorable classic. Coppola s imaginative view of a timeless tale embodies the gothic
genre, with strong themes of romance, sexuality and lust, as the complexity of love is exposed.
Coppola allows us an insight into his processes when creating this epic narrative.

Grounded Theory Essay
The use of illicit substances has become increasing common in schizophrenia (Asher Gask, 2010).
Illicit substance use by persons with a diagnosis of schizophrenia has long been associated with
increased severity of psychosis, psychiatric hospital inpatient admissions, higher rates of readmission
and poor treatment outcomes (Asher Gask, 2010; Charles Weaver, 2010; Hambrecht Hafner, 1996;
Swofford, Kasckow, Scheller Gilkey Inderbitzin, 1996). It has also been acknowledged that persons
diagnosed with schizophrenia are more likely to use illicit substances within their lifetime than the
general population, with rates of comorbid substance use fluctuating from 15 to 65% in persons
diagnosed with schizophrenia (Charles Weaver, 2010; Malchow et al, 2012). So ... Show more content

Approach
For this research article the author has chosen to use a grounded theory approach. Grounded theory is
a qualitative method of research which allows the researchers to construct meaning of the selected
topic via a process of development and reflection of the data collected (Charmaz, 2014). Grounded
theory provides a flexible and intuitive process to data collection and analysis allowing the
construction of a theory that is truly grounded from the data (Charmaz, 2014).
Grounded theory was developed in the 1960s by two sociologists with the idea that meaning is
developed through interaction with experience (Polit Beck, 2017; Starks Brown Trinidad, 2007). It is
often used to explain and explore social process and the lived experience and perceptions of others,
providing enlightenment to researchers, practitioners or clinicians on the chosen topic. For the purpose
of exploring the consumers experiences of comorbid schizophrenia and substance abuse grounded
theory will allow real world experiences to be collected and compared to then generate meaning and
understanding which can assist clinicians in the development of

How Parasitology Is A Very Important Area Of The...
Parasitology is a very important area of the microbiology clinical laboratory of NYU Langone
Medical Center. Medical technologists perform many different types of assays and observe countless
samples under the microscope in order to detect the presence of any parasites causing infections.
Parasitology is the study of parasitic organisms that cause disease within humans. Parasites are
defined as organisms that live in or on another organism and uses its resources. The major groups of
parasitic organisms studied and observed in the clinical laboratory are helminths, protozoa, and
arthropods. Helminths are worm parasites and this group contains the parasitic subgroups nematodes,
cestodes and trematodes. Nematodes are roundworms, cestodes are tapeworms, and trematodes are
flukes. There are thousands of different species of helminths. Protozoa contains organelles within their
cell. There are more than 50,000 species and are very common throughout the world. Arthropods are
organisms with a chitin cytoskeleton, such as fleas, ticks, spiders, and insects. Although parasitic
infections are most often associated with tropical areas they can also occur in subtropical and more
temperate areas, even places such as New York City. Billions of people all over the world have fallen
prey to parasitic infections. People who live, work, visit, or immigrate from more remote and
underdeveloped parts of the world are at a higher risk of acquiring parasitic infections. The level of

Book Report On Unbroken By Laura Hillenbrand
Unbroken, written by Laura Hillenbrand, is a biography about a man named Louie Zamperini who
lived in Torrance, California. The story begins with Louie as a boy who often gets into trouble. After
maturing past his delinquent phase, he becomes a very talented runner. The idea of becoming a runner
was introduced to Louie by his oldest brother Pete. Pete always had great faith in his little brother and
wanted to see him do great things with his life. Louie was such a great runner that he made it to the
German Olympics in 1936. Although, these Olympic games were different because Louie was not a
German, and this was a big deal because Germany was currently being ruled by Adolf Hitler. Adolf
Hitler believed in one supreme race, and when he saw ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the next two years, Louie endures physical and psychological torture by his captors. During
this time, a major character is introduced, Mutsuhiro Watanabe (a.k.a. the Bird), who is a head
Japanese captain at the camp where Louie is being taken to be held prisoner. He makes the creepy
guard from The Green Mile seem like a guy you d love to bring home to dinner. On the day Louie
arrives to the camp, The Bird recognizes Louie for his Olympic performance and forces him to race
against one of his soldiers; however, Louie is frail due to lack of food and water and is humiliated in
defeat. The Bird is very hard on him, and is the predominant source of mental and physical abuse from
which Louie suffers at this camp. Louie, being the strong willed fighter that he is, continues to endure
and remain physically and emotionally unbroken until he eventually catches a break when The Bird is
offered a better job at another camp. After the war interferes with his camp, Louie is moved to a
different camp, which ends up being the same camp where The Bird had transferred. The Bird
continues to be ruthless and relentless towards Louie and directs his wrath at Louie far worse than any
other prisoner, especially when he determines that Louie is attempting to boost the morale of other
prisoners. In this time period in the book, hope and motivation are shown as Louie continues to fight

The Arab-Israeli Struggle During The 50 Years War
This documentary tells the story of the Arab Israeli struggle in the 50 Years War.
It begins by explaining conditions in Palestine at the end of World War 2 and the crisis created by the
exodus of European Jews who went to the Middle East after the Holocaust.
The withdrawal of the British who controlled Palestine for three decades is seen as the creation of the
states of Israel. The U.N s decision to partition Palestine in 1947 ensured
50 years of animosity, warfare, and negotiation. The film follows the development of the
Palestinian Liberation Organization as well as the Arabs struggle for statehood in 1948 and 1967.
After the U.N saw the migration of Jewish refugees fleeing Europe to return to their former homeland
Palestine. This

Gary Soto Research Paper
Gary Soto: A Man of Inspiration By: Josie Estrella Freeman, Bloque Tres, el seis de octubre
It appears these days I don t have much of a life because my nose is often stuck in a book. But I
discovered that reading builds a life inside the mind. Gary Soto. This man has dedicated his life to
reading, writing, and promoting young readers. He is a renowned poet and author for both children
and adults. Soto is very successful at what he does, and he has won many awards to prove that. But
most of all, Gary Soto s biggest accomplishment is inspiring others. Even though I write a lot about
life in the barrio, I am really writing about the feelings and experiences of most American kids. Gary
Soto was born on April 12, 1952 in Fresno, California. He grew up in a barrio , a poor Mexican
American neighborhood. He uses his experiences to write and provoke young readers interests.
Although, Soto s actions while growing up may come as a shock. His father, Manuel Soto, died in a
factory accident while working for Sunmaid. His family was already ... Show more content on

These include Ernest Hemingway, Edward Field, Pablo Neruda, and Philip Levine. These specific
authors/poets sparked his interest because they all similar in one way: each of them wrote about the
common struggle. Soto loved this because he could relate and utilize his past experiences to his
advantage when writing. This is an example of what he expresses in Buried Onions: The black asphalt
would shimmer with vapors. I had a theory about those vapors...not released by the sun but by a huge
onion buried under the city. This onion made us cry...I thought about this giant onion, that remarkable
bulb of sadness. Many are astonished by Gary Soto s remarkable memory. Some believed it to be
photographic. This is how he responds: These are the pictures I take with me when I write. They stir

Project Proposal For Non Structured Data Essay
PROJECT PROPOSAL
Moving from Structured to non Structured Data
PROJECT ADVISOR
PROJECT TEAM:
ABSTRACT
The promise of data driven decision making is now being recognized broadly, and there is growing
enthusiasm for the notion of ``Big Data. While the promise of Big Data is real for example, it is
estimated that Google alone contributed 54 billion dollars to the US economy in 2009 there is
currently a wide gap between its potential and its realization.
Heterogeneity, scale, timeliness, complexity, and privacy problems with Big Data impede progress at
all phases of the pipeline that can create value from data. The problems start right away during data
acquisition, when the data tsunami requires us to make decisions, currently in an ad hoc manner, about
what data to keep and what to discard, and how to store what we keep reliably with the right metadata.
Much data today is not natively in structured format; for example, tweets and blogs are weakly
structured pieces of text, while images and video are structured for storage and display, but not for
semantic content and search: transforming such content into a structured format for later analysis is a
major challenge. We will find out a way how structured big data can be transformed into unstructured
data to increase the performance. Storage price trends have shown that now a days it s not a big deal to
afford storage for big un structured data. As far as performance is concerned, big data

6.2.1 Results of Compressive Strength Test
For compressive strength test, cube specimens of dimensions 150 x 150 x 150 mm were cast for M60
grade of concrete. The moulds were filled with different proportions of cement, metakaolin and Fly
Ash. Vibration was given to the moulds using the table vibrator. The top surface of specimen was
leveled and finished. After 24 hours the specimens were demoulded and were being transferred to
curing tank where in they were allowed to cure for 7,28and 56 days. After 7,28and 56 days curing,
these cubes were tested on a digital compression testing machine as per I.S. 516 1959[14].
The failure load was noted. In each category, three cubes were tested and their average value is being
reported.
The compressive strength was calculated as follows:
Compressive strength (MPa) = Failure load / cross sectional area.

Fall Road Trip
Essential Elements for a Fantastic Fall Road Trip There s nothing quite like getting out and about in
the fall. From the brilliant, changing hues of the foliage as they contrast with the aptly named
evergreens to the migrating geese, whales, and other seasonal species. Fall air seems especially brisk
and exhilarating, and early morning frosts turn landscapes into spectacular dreams. Fall also offers
shoppers a virtual wonderland as stores enter into their holiday sale events, closing out the summer
goods, bringing out holiday present ideas, and attempting to give you just enough of a taste to lure you
back for Black Friday. Slow down... before you jump in the ole vacation mobile and hit the road to
adventure, there are a few details to consider to ensure your time of enjoyment and decompression
doesn t become a source of stress and woe. 1. Plan/Schedule. Unless you have open start and end dates
and can get there when we get there and your return is when we pull in the driveway , you will need a
schedule. Notice that I did not suggest a minute by minute itinerary. If you are one who likes that sort
of thing, bless you, but I recommend an uncomplicated schedule which can simply guide your path
and reduce anxiety. One easy way to prepare your schedule is to use the 4 W s. Who: Are you
planning to visit somebody? Do they know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowing when to be on the road and when to stop is especially important if your trip is shorter and
you have limited time. For example, if you are heading out on a long weekend leaving on Friday
afternoon, the same time as everybody else is, you are likely to spend way too much time in traffic.
Consider taking a few extra vacation hours and leaving Friday morning, or start out a few hours later
and do some night

GVAHEC Staff Meeting
For this week internship, I have attended GVAHEC staff meeting on Monday September 11 at apache
Junction location. They usually do staff meeting every first Monday of the month to discuss about
their organization, but for this month, they had to postponed the meeting to the second Monday of the
month due to unavailability of some staff members. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to
make the organization function better. One thing that they focused on during the meeting was the
sponsorship opportunity. They want to look for more agencies that can fund their organization. So,
some people came up with new idea, which has been taken into consideration. I believe that every

Remember that one of GVAHEC s missions is to educate underserved population about healthy
behavior. One staff member attended excel training, she also shared her knowledge about how to
protect their system from hackers. Another person attended community health graduation. GVAHEC
provides support to healthcare students who have financial problem, so, some of their students have
graduated. I think this meeting was very useful to me because I have learned some new things. For
example, I have learned how to look for fund raising opportunity, so, in the future, if I work with an
organization that needs sponsor, I think I can help. I have also learned through this meeting that when
I will be working with this type organization, it is very important to learn new things from other
organizations that will help my organization to prosper. On Wednesday September 13, I went to the
Phoenix location. We have finished our project regarding St Mary s food bank presentation. So, two
weeks from now, we will be presenting. I have learned many things through this project. For example,
in my future career, if I am asked to conduct a project to educate people on healthy behavior, I think I

Tesco Plc And Public Limited Company
Business Organisations Task 1: TESCO Plc (public limited company) is a British multinational
grocery and general merchandise retailer. It is the third largest retailer in the world measured by its
profit, and its second measured by its revenue. TESCO Plc is owned by shareholders who fund the
company. The general public can buy shares in the company and then become shareholders; this
method allows TESCO to gain funds. The reason I would choose to locate TESCO in the new business
park is because TESCO is the grocery market leader in the UK, it has a market share of 28.4%.
TESCO have competitive prices and many people shop at TESCO, this means it will grow the local
economy. TESCO rely on their employees to provide a service to their customers. TESCO have
500,000 (2015) and I believe that having a TESCO in this business park will create more jobs. TESCO
s core purpose is to be the champion for customers, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life and
an easier way of living . I would also locate a National Health Service (NHS) Hospital at this business
park. The NHS is primarily funded through taxation with a much smaller funding provided through.
They provide a comprehensive range of health services; the vast majority are free for people legally
resident in the UK. The NHS is in the public sector and is a not for profit organisation. It was founded
in 1948. The aim of this business is to provide a service to the community. The NHS have 1.4 Million

This simply means that the organization must take time out to learn what motivates employees. It is
best for management to clearly highlight the organization s goals and then motivate employees to keep
them engaged. A list of things to consider include: Clearly defining the goals of the company. When
the company goals and visions are well stated to the employees, then they will have a clear
understanding of what they have to do to ensure that there is success at the workplace. Providing the
required resources for the employees. It should not be assumed that the employees have all the
necessities that will enable them to carry out their duties effectively. The management should make
available all the required resources that will ensure they do their work completely and satisfactorily.
Having good communication channels. Good communication is very vital in the sense that if there is
miscommunication then there will be a lot of chaos at the work place. Having good communication in
the organization will ensure that everything is flowing as required, without skipping any steps. Getting
everyone at the work place engaged. This is done by giving employees a chance to make proposals
and decisions on some issues. It is a step that will make them feel appreciated in the company. It will
also allow employees to become responsible for whatever outcome the decision created. Being fair to
every employee. As a top manager, one needs to be just and fair to everyone, so as to ensure

The Impact Of The Witch Trials
Witch trials were a big part of the United States history. During the witch trials violence was more
abundant than usual. They really started getting popular in the late 1600 s. The violence of the trials
impacted people s lives so heavily back then. By looking at witch trials, we can see the vicious impact
it had, which most readers don t see; this is important because it shows that violence was and is
always the answer. People were most commonly tortured by stoning, being burned alive, and by
placing heavy rocks on top of one s body until they died. Women and, sometimes, men went into
hiding and feared for their children and their own lives. Puritans wanted to please God and they
thought killing witches, who were thought to be satanic, would be a good deed. Cotton Mather was
one of those Puritans. Violence was a public practice and people would often come out with their kids
and watch the trials so everyone became desensitized, for a period of time, but it also struck fear into
the people who were not doing what they were supposed to do , according to the Puritans, or who
were mentally disabled.
In The Wonders of the Invisible World, Cotton Mather states that one form of witch craft was satanic
practicing. ... yet many of the persons represented, being examined, several of them have been
convicted of a very damnable witchcraft: yea, more than one [and] twenty have confessed, that they

It is hard to find that one person in the world that you can always relate too. That one friend knows

The plot to me on page 69 was all about Julie pretty much I wish I gotten to know you better in a love

everything will be alright set of tone. Once I had reached the end of the book, everything started come
together and make sense of what Julie was trying to say to the audience and Maddie, I m going to go
out in a bang and these are my last words. From the last time the quote Kiss me hardy! was said on
page 295, it was hard to focus on the final pages of the book because the plot took a complete turn on

It was tough to tell when Julie was telling the truth on where they are from. Before being told the truth

Theme Of Imoinda In The Queen Of Night
Imoinda is the only female character that receives some attention from the narrator. Imoinda is
Oroonoko s lover and eventually his wife. She has very little power in the narrative since she is part of
two repressed groups (slave and woman) (Ibbotson). She is praised by the narrator for her beauty and
her loyalty. These are the traits that make her special but also responsible for the fact that she has little
influence over what happens to her. Beauty makes her desirable for men regardless of whether she
wants them to fall in love with her or not. This can be seen in the old king. Loyalty to her husband is
what causes her demise since his desires are her desires, her loyalty causes her to act as he wishes her
to. This is also why she lets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This leads to Oroonoko killing her by first cutting her throat, and then severing her yet smiling face

Thereby, Imoinda s loss of identity is complete: She has lost her agency, her name, her life and even
her face has been torn off. She suffered all these brutalities by the hands of men who either wanted to
possess her or claimed to love her (in Oroonoko s case both). The narrative ends with her as the
narrator states: Yet, I hope, the reputation of my pen is considerable enough to make his glorious name
to survive to all ages, with that of the brave, the beautiful, and the constant Imoinda (Behn, Oroonoko
224). This leaves the reader with the idea of Imoinda rather than the person presented towards at the

Chemical Reactivity Lab Report
One discrepancy that has to be explained would be for Part F(Chemical Reactivity
Of Some Representative Elements), question 3 is we failed to obtain a result because time ran out
before we could complete the experiment. However, based on my research, the calcium hydroxide salt
would be more soluble than the magnesium hydroxide salt because the calcium is more reactive than

Thus, Chlorine would be the most electronegative, followed by Bromine and finally Iodine. Plus, a
higher halogen will be able to displace a lower halogen from its halide solution. The next concept is
the reaction between an alkali metal and water, specifically sodium metal and water. Before the
reaction, the sodium metal was stored in kerosene to prevent it from reacting with the moisture or
oxygen that is in the air. This is because sodium is a very reactive metal and will easily react with the
moisture present in the air to form sodium hydroxide. This is an extremely strong exothermic reaction
and a lot of heat is generated. Moving on, when sodium is placed into a test tube containing water and
phenolphtalein, a vigorous reaction takes place where sodium hydroxide along with hydrogen gas is
formed. The presence of the sodium hydroxide can confirmed by the change in color of the
phenolpthalein to pink while the presence of the hydrogen gas can be confirmed by placing a glowing
wooden splinter into the test tube and hearing a pop sound.
The last concept is comparing the reactivity of metals specifically magnesium and

Abigail Fisher Vs The University Of Texas At Austin Case...
Abigail Fisher vs. The University of Texas at Austin Response
Racial discrimination has been a prevalent issue in America since the beginning. After the Civil Rights
Movement in the 1950s and 1960s, American society has tried to correct its discriminatory behavior,
particularly in the field of education. But some believe this correction to ensure equality of
educational opportunity is infringing on the rights of, not minorities, but whites. The Supreme Court
Case, Abigail Fisher vs. University of Texas at Austin, tried to combat this issue regarding the
discrimination of whites in college admission. Edward Blum uploaded a video on to the internet
summarizing Abigail Fisher s side of the court case. The video entitled Abigail Fisher vs. University
of Texas at Austin lacks ethos, antagonizes the University of Texas for trying to enlarge their student
diversity, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The University of Texas at Austin video fails to accomplish its goal of portraying Fisher s side of the
lawsuit effectively. This is due to its lack of ethos, ignorance regarding the current economical stance
of non white races, and the right of the University of Texas to enhance their student diversity. Fisher is
blind to the fact that non whites have historically faced discrimination, and those historical events
have affected their societal place today. Her statement saying, A good start to ending discrimination
would be getting rid of the boxes on applications, is erasing both the history and the identity of people
of color (Blum). Joel Spring states, Today, the issue of classification is tied to the concept of equality
of educational opportunity (Spring 128). It is important to remember that history has affected modern
society, and we cannot simply erase the idea of race and call it equality. Fisher claiming that the
inclusion of different races in college admission being discriminatory against her is insensitive to

Abstract
According to my studies, I m going to talk about John Maynard Keynes and his economic life. He is
one of the most recognizable and influential economist of the 20th Century. For my research, I was
summarizing about the life term history of the world s brilliant economist, who made economics
possible. The paper will be about how his economic life change the world and how is he well focused
on his learnings from his teachers and professors. The way he was well known as a wealth expert on

economics is all about. The whole aspect of Economics and the Holocaust is going to be about what
the true legacy of John Maynard Keynes. Even if I m not 100 percent correct, as Keynes would always

familes, and bonds; etc.
John Maynard Keynes was a great inspiration knowledge profession because at critical times which
was the 1930 s, when with the on stock of the Market Crash, The Great Depression , he saw very little
correspondence between orthodox theory and the challenges that society faced. He was born on June

The Impact Of Race On The Gender Wage Gap And Women Overall
Equality of wages in America is of high concern and has been for a long period of time. On no account
of America s history, have women and men s wages ever been equal, rather they have always had a
significant gap between them. This has seen women as undervalued, causing a lot of discrimination
and hardship in the workplace for women. Especially for women of color the wage gap is even larger.
The pay gap in America affects women of all ages, races, and education levels but what can they do to
close it?
What is the impact on race on the gender wage gap and women overall is a topic everyone should be
informed. I chose this question because one i m a young woman and as a young women i m constantly

It refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of people based on gender. Many people will agree
because there s a lot going on about double standards. Since the 1920 s women have been put after
men. Now in modern times, the realization that men and women can produce the same results, have
the same education, and have the same capacity to accomplish the same overall tasks as men is
becoming more popular (Varnell)1. People are starting to realize that women can accomplish the same
things as men but they still don t get their recognition. Gender inequality seems to have more
problems in the workplace.
The gender pay gap has been an issue forever. Wage discrimination exists when workers are equally
qualified and perform the same work but one group of workers is paid more than another. The
American Association University of Women is releasing a new study that shows when men and
women attend the same kind of college, pick the same major and accept the same kind of job, on
average, the woman will still earn 82 cents to every dollar that a man earns (Coleman)1. The pay gap
is even greater for African American and Latina women. African American women earning 64 cents
and Latina women earning 56 cents for every dollar earned by a white non Hispanic man. Of course it
s a racial issue because the caucasians have always been the superior race. African American and
Hispanic women are significantly less likely to graduate from high school or to get a bachelor s degree

Desai criticizes the society not taking better care of those who are unable to care for themselves. It is
incredibly hard to write a book about such deep topics as poverty and the hope of life, especially with
children as main characters. It is a unique blend of description and a good story of hope, despair,

Driving Cars Should Be Allowed On Our Roads
I support that self driving cars should be allowed on our roads. Think about riding in your car without
being paying attention to all the details on the roads. Think about leaving work exhausted and get into
your car, push a button, type your home address and the next thing you know you are in your parking
at your house. Let s think about that last party when you had that extra glass of wine, and you are
alone staring at your car wondering how you will get home. The self driving car is the solution to
those struggles that we all face at any time in our lives. The future of moving people and goods will
bring as new transportation technologies, an these technologies will make it possible to move faster
and safer than ever before, but law and regulations and rigorous planning need to take place at the
same paste as these technologies. The self driving cars are coming on our roads and I can t wait to that
day when they will not be fiction but a fact. Self driving cars if allowed will make life easier to
commuters and will reduce the mortality rate due to road accidents. Most of the roads accidents are
due to reckless driving and drunk driving. According to the International Organization for Road
Accident Prevention (IORAP), 1.3 million road deaths occur worldwide every year and more than 50
million people are seriously injured. There are 3,500 deaths a day or 150 every hour, and nearly three

Basket making was normally done by the elders of the tribe. The elders would sit around large fires
weaving baskets and singing ancient songs or prayers. Phillip Martin said, The baskets were made out
of any materials found in the area. The most common material used was tall grass (Martin 1). The
baskets can be found in various sizes and different configurations. While in the Hall of the Tribes we
found a basket that was taller than a fully grown man. The basket was made out of tall grass and
weighed well over one hundred pounds. In order to color a basket tall grass would have to be cut and
dried on drying racks. After the grass was dried baskets would be decorated with dye. In order to dye a
basket a particular color different herbs, fruit berries, flowers, grasses of color, and certain species of
trees were selected to make the different dye colors. The materials used for dye were then crushed or
pulverized into powder and made into paste or liquid paint. After the dye paint was made the tall grass
was soaked in the desired color and again placed on drying racks. Weavers then selected the desired
color stained grass and wove it into their baskets. After we departed the Hall of Tribes, we ventured
out into the surrounding snow covered grounds to see the ancient structures and ceremonial dwellings
that were also painted with the same colors and patterns as used on

Effectiveness of Portable Devices in Communication
A portable system is generally a personal, small and lightweight hardware product,
Designed to be used when one is on the move , and it is temporarily independent of an External
electric power supply. They are usually characterized by their Portability, Easy to pack and move and
they are wearable. They may include; Personal digital assistant, Enterprise digital assistant, Wearable
computer, Smartphone, Laptops, Calculators and eBook readers.
Portable systems support computing and communication activities where they are defined by their
design for mobile users, and from an ergonomic point of view they are not homogeneous. Some
portable systems are designed for outdoor use and hence they can be used during adverse
environmental conditions Huber, 2002).
Mobile technology allows companies to have an unprecedented level of connectivity between
employees, vendors, and their customers. Applications on mobile devices allow people to connect
with others through social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Web based applications are
used to enable direct communication with audiences in a variety of ways (Schwartz, 2005).. Use of
real time communication can be important in improving customer service in a business and the staff
time is spent efficiently. A customer or company uses such devices to make quotations and interactive

Risks Associated With The Outsourcing Of It Functions
An analysis of the outcomes of the outsourcing of IT functions reveals that there are several
challenges facing organizations who are contemplating or have already outsourced IT business
functions.
Through my research on the topic of IT outsourcing I have determined that there are many different
types of risks associated with the outsourcing of IT functions to a third party company that can equal
or exceed the benefits if certain considerations are not taken into account. Risks of outsourcing IT
functions can include strategy risks, selection risks, implementation risks and management risks. The
outsourcing of IT functions to a 3rd party can be beneficial to a company as it allows that company a
means to reduce expenses, focus on its core competencies and free up resources to drive business
growth. But ultimately, if the who, what, when, where, why and how are not determined up front and
written into a flexible contractual agreement, and the relationship between both parties is not a
partnership the venture is destine to fail. Let s examine in depth the various types of risks associated
with the outsourcing of IT functions to a 3rd party vendor.
Strategy Risks One of the biggest strategy risks associated with outsourcing is determining the proper
scope of the IT business processes which should be outsourced. Organizations should look to
outsource non cost effective and undesirable business functions but need to make sure that the
function which is being outsourced is not

The True Hero In Spider Man
There are all types of heroes all over the world. A hero is defined by the choices they make and the
things they achieve. Spiderman is a hero like no other. He wasn t always Spider man, he used to be a
young teen named Peter Parker. Peter lived a difficult childhood because he was an orphan who was
very timid and shy. He was also very smart but he often got bullied. He lived with his aunt and uncle
in New York City. You could also describe him as a geeky science nerd who consistently seeked
attention from Mary Jane, who he crushed on since they were six years old. He lived an ordinary life
and only really had two real friends who were Harry and Mary Jane. Who would think that Peter
Parker would undergo such a miraculous transformation and become the supero that he is. He was
blessed with the superpowers but yet cursed at the same time. It brought moments that caused him
hardships in his life and he had to cope with them. Without a doubt Spider man, is a true hero that
undergoes an epic journey.
In Spider man, the patterns are very similar to those of the hero s journey of motif. The call for
adventure in Spider man starts when he goes on a field trip with his high school. They visited a
genetics laboratory. While he was taking photos in the laboratory, he was bitten on the hand by a

When a customer buys a bottle of Champagne she buys a bottle of good quality wine. She also pays
for the fact that the wine is exclusive, it is from the region of Champagne and that is something that
differentiates it from other sparkling wine. This is something the customer experiences as added value
to the product. However, this value does not count as much when the product becomes available to a
bigger number of customers. It looses its exclusiveness. When it comes to sparkling wine that is not

Media Opinion On Public Opinion
Question 2 Public opinion is combination of elite opinion, media opinion, and mass opinion. Elite
opinion is the informed opinions of knowledgeable experts that may be presented in blogs, university
studies, or academic think tanks. Media opinion is often associated with public opinion; however, a
large information gap is present as media opinion is often biased as it is funded by corporate
sponsorship. This trend is common during elections, where corporately backed candidates are often
portrayed favorably in debate or campaign analysis. The third aspect of public opinion is mass
opinion. Mass opinion is generally measured by polls or consumer trend analysis to make educated
assumptions about the opinions and preferences of the masses. Publications are quick to state that
public opinion supports one side of a policy issue or a social topic. There are a number of complexities
that arise when gauging public opinion. Can public opinion actually be effectively measured? Is public
opinion constant? Does the public effectively understand the question at hand? These issues
commonly arise when discussing what the public opinion actually is. The main difficulties of
analyzing public opinion is that it is fairly elastic, often changing depending on reactions to current
events, it is difficult to collect credible information to make effective assumptions, and the public is
often not informed well enough or does not understand the true complexities of various policy issues.

Free Will Scandal In Philosophy Analysis
For centuries, philosophers and scientists alike have debated the nature of consciousness, human
freedom, and moral responsibility. Quantum Mechanics (QM) would indicate that on the smallest,
most fundamental scale of the universe, indeterminism is logically true, and provides room for free
will theory in our universe. Alternatively, adequate determinism proposes that macroscopic events can
be statistically predicted with impressive precision, but that the unpredictability of microscopic events
has no noticeable effect on the macroscopic world. There are other subcategories of determinism and
indeterminism, all of which bring interesting perspectives on the nature of the reality, and all of which
have a large impact on moral responsibility. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, there are some philosophers who believe that our genes determine our future entirely,
and some philosophers that believe our actions are dictated by environmental conditioning (Doyle
2001, p. 147). These two perspectives are both faulty and inaccurate. Our genes, however, are only
hereditary units that determine the characteristics of our bodies. Although this may have some effect
on the way we act, most of the information stored in the brain is accumulated throughout life. This
does disqualify biological determinism alone as an explanation for our actions, although it can still be
treated as a contributing factor in a more complete theory of determinism. For example, in a free will
theory that uses O Connor s definition of free will, some biological genetic processes could explain
our primal, animalistic desires, that cause us to act out of character . The behavioral (environmental)
determinism perspective argues that the environment we are reared in has a massive effect on our
perspective on reality; thus, it can be used to predict the decisions we will make in a given
circumstance. This does not, however, prove that all of life is determined by causal chains, as is
posited by determinists, it simply bolsters the idea that nurture plays a large role in developing our
character. It provides no evidence to show that a certain childhood environment is somehow indicative
of the likelihood of certain specific decisions in a certain situation. Adequate determinism, arguably
the most rational of all deterministic schools of thought, is guided by statistical laws, and does not
claim to be able to predict everything perfectly. It only claims to predict things that have been
sufficiently experimented and explained by classical laws in the macroscopic world and, thus, does
not claim to explain issues presented by QM that are contradictory to

Nuclear Energy Research Paper
Materials such as used nuclear reactor fuel assemblies, contaminated clothing or tools, and isotopes
used in nuclear medicine are some examples of nuclear waste that may be transported in a cask. Some
advises and safety precautions done when transporting spent fuel rods and other nuclear wastes is by
using appropriate materials to prevent leakage and other accidents.
Which US government body sets limits on the transport of spent fuel rods? Name four other
government agencies involved in the management and transport of HLW.
The US government establishes a Nuclear Regulatory Commission agency whose task is to regulate
the storage, security, and disposal of spent fuels and the like. The four government agencies that
involve in the management and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Support each with evidence. This response should be a complete and detailed paragraph/s.
Advantages of nuclear power;
Low costs. The initial construction costs of nuclear power plants are large. When the power plants first
have been built, we are left with the costs to enrich and process the nuclear fuel, control and get rid of
nuclear waste, as well as the maintenance of the plant. The reason this is under advantages is that
nuclear energy is cost competitive. Generating electricity in nuclear reactors is cheaper than electricity
generating from oil, gas and coal. Nuclear power plants provide a stable base load of energy. This can
work synergistic with renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. The electricity production
from the plants can be lowered when good wind and solar resources are available and cranked up
when the demand is high.
Low pollution. It is in most cases more beneficial, in terms of the climate crisis, to replace other
energy harnessing methods we use today with nuclear power. The environmental effects of nuclear
power are relatively light compared to those. However, nuclear waste is potential harmful for both
humans and the environment.
Disadvantages of nuclear

Using Islamic Banks, Commercial Banks And Dual Banks
We conduct a raft of additional tests to ensure the robustness of our findings. First, our sample consists
of Islamic banks, commercial banks and dual banks, thus to ascertain how MLG work among the three
categories, we re run equation (1) by separating the sample to three sub samples: Islamic banks (IBs);
commercial banks (CBs); and dual banks (DBs). The results reported in models 2, 3, 4 in Table 6 and
models 11, 12 and 13 in Table 7 respectively. The results are basically the same with slight different in
the coefficients significant. Nevertheless there is negative impact of GOWN on risk disclosure
however this relation is insignificant. Also the results show the FOWN and CC has more impact in IBs
rather than CBs and DBs. Finally, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, we test the robustness of our results by re regressing equation (1) and equation (2) using
weighted RDI as alternative risk disclosure index. The results reported in Table 7 are mostly the same
with those results reported in Table 6 with slight different in the coefficients significant, therefore
these findings indicates that our results are robust whether RDI is un weighted or weighted. Finally,
and to test potential endogeneity problems which have been debated to be a common problem in CG
studies (Elshandidy Neri, 2015; Larcker Rusticus, 2010; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015; Ntim et al., 2013;
Ntim Soobaroyen, 2013), we uses 3SLS because it is more efficient than 2SLS (Belsley, 1988; Larcker
Rusticus, 2010; Zellner Theil, 1962). Three stages least squares (3SLS) methodology consist of three
steps: estimates MLG instrumental values in first step, estimates the covariance matrix for MLG
instrumental values based on the residuals in second step and finally, performs GLS regression based
on covariance matrix (Dennis Taisier, 2014; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015). Therefore, the model to be
estimated is specified as: (2) Where everything remains unaffected as identified in equation (1) except
that we use the covariance matrix from the second step

  • 2. White Blood Cell Pathogens In a single drop of blood, there is about 7,000 25,000 white blood cells. The white blood cell works for the immune system. The white blood cell is small and it is shaped like an oval to move quickly around the body and to not get stuck. The main function of the white blood cell is to kill any pathogen that tries to harm the human body system. When a group of cancer called leukemia attacks the bone marrow, it cause the bone marrow to produce abnormal white blood cells that do not function properly. The white blood cell is part of the immune system. The cells in the immune system distinguish between different kinds of pathogens. Then the immune system makes a defense targeted specifically at that pathogen. Lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, produce proteins that help damage or kill the pathogen. There are five kinds of white blood cells that produce different antibodies to help defend against different kinds of pathogens. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the lungs, and they also help release carbon dioxide. (Textbook). The incidents at Cooper s Donuts and the Dewey Incident to me we sort of similar because intersectionality placed a part in how some of the people were treated. I also learned that most the activist during this era was nontransgendered men and transgendered women. Reed Erikson was an important person in this movement because he was also transgender, and he funded a lot of their causes. Bram Stoker s Dracula Love is not black and white and Francis Ford Coppola s ageless classic Bram Stoker s Dracula epitomises the many layers that come with romance. The dark love story highlights the romance of the gothic horror and still manages to convey the fear and terror that cemented the original novel as an iconic and memorable classic. Illicit substance use by persons with a diagnosis of schizophrenia has long been associated with increased severity of psychosis, psychiatric hospital inpatient admissions, higher rates of readmission and poor treatment outcomes (Asher Gask, 2010; Charles Weaver, 2010; Hambrecht Hafner, 1996; Swofford, Kasckow, Scheller Gilkey Inderbitzin, 1996). It has also been acknowledged that persons diagnosed with schizophrenia are more likely to use illicit substances within their lifetime than the general population, with rates of comorbid substance use fluctuating from 15 to 65% in persons diagnosed with schizophrenia (Charles Weaver, 2010; Malchow et al, 2012). Parasitology is the study of parasitic organisms that cause disease within humans. Parasites are defined as organisms that live in or on another organism and uses its resources. The major groups of parasitic organisms studied and observed in the clinical laboratory are helminths, protozoa, and arthropods. Helminths are worm parasites and this group contains the parasitic subgroups nematodes, cestodes and trematodes. Nematodes are roundworms, cestodes are tapeworms, and trematodes are flukes. Project Proposal For Non Structured Data Essay PROJECT PROPOSAL Moving from Structured to non Structured Data PROJECT ADVISOR PROJECT TEAM: ABSTRACT The promise of data driven decision making is now being recognized broadly, and there is growing enthusiasm for the notion of ``Big Data. While the promise of Big Data is real for example, it is estimated that Google alone contributed 54 billion dollars to the US economy in 2009 there is currently a wide gap between its potential and its realization. Heterogeneity, scale, timeliness, complexity, and privacy problems with Big Data impede progress at all phases of the pipeline that can create value from data. The problems start right away during data acquisition, when the data tsunami requires us to make decisions, currently in an ad hoc manner, about what data to keep and what to discard, and how to store what we keep reliably with the right metadata. Much data today is not natively in structured format; for example, tweets and blogs are weakly structured pieces of text, while images and video are structured for storage and display, but not for semantic content and search: transforming such content into a structured format for later analysis is a major challenge. We will find out a way how structured big data can be transformed into unstructured data to increase the performance. By looking at witch trials, we can see the vicious impact it had, which most readers don t see; this is important because it shows that violence was and is always the answer. People were most commonly tortured by stoning, being burned alive, and by placing heavy rocks on top of one s body until they died. Women and, sometimes, men went into hiding and feared for their children and their own lives. Puritans wanted to please God and they thought killing witches, who were thought to be satanic, would be a good deed. Cotton Mather was one of those Puritans. Violence was a public practice and people would often come out with their kids and watch the trials so everyone became desensitized, for a period of time, but it also struck fear into the people who were not doing what they were supposed to do , according to the Puritans, or who were mentally disabled. The Supreme Court Case, Abigail Fisher vs. University of Texas at Austin, tried to combat this issue regarding the discrimination of whites in college admission. Edward Blum uploaded a video on to the internet summarizing Abigail Fisher s side of the court case. Fisher is blind to the fact that non whites have historically faced discrimination, and those historical events have affected their societal place today. Her statement saying, A good start to ending discrimination would be getting rid of the boxes on applications, is erasing both the history and the identity of people of color (Blum). Elite opinion is the informed opinions of knowledgeable experts that may be presented in blogs, university studies, or academic think tanks. Media opinion is often associated with public opinion; however, a large information gap is present as media opinion is often biased as it is funded by corporate sponsorship. This trend is common during elections, where corporately backed candidates are often portrayed favorably in debate or campaign analysis. The third aspect of public opinion is mass opinion. Mass opinion is generally measured by polls or consumer trend analysis to make educated assumptions about the opinions and preferences of the masses. Publications are quick to state that public opinion supports one side of a policy issue or a social topic. There are a number of complexities that arise when gauging public opinion. Can public opinion actually be effectively measured? Is public opinion constant? Does the public effectively understand the question at hand? These issues commonly arise when discussing what the public opinion actually is. The main difficulties of analyzing public opinion is that it is fairly elastic, often changing depending on reactions to current events, it is difficult to collect credible information to make effective assumptions, and the public is often not informed well enough or does not understand the true complexities of various policy issues. • 41. Free Will Scandal In Philosophy Analysis For centuries, philosophers and scientists alike have debated the nature of consciousness, human freedom, and moral responsibility. Quantum Mechanics (QM) would indicate that on the smallest, most fundamental scale of the universe, indeterminism is logically true, and provides room for free will theory in our universe. Alternatively, adequate determinism proposes that macroscopic events can be statistically predicted with impressive precision, but that the unpredictability of microscopic events has no noticeable effect on the macroscopic world. There are other subcategories of determinism and indeterminism, all of which bring interesting perspectives on the nature of the reality, and all of which have a large impact on moral responsibility. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, there are some philosophers who believe that our genes determine our future entirely, and some philosophers that believe our actions are dictated by environmental conditioning (Doyle 2001, p. 147). These two perspectives are both faulty and inaccurate. Our genes, however, are only hereditary units that determine the characteristics of our bodies. Although this may have some effect on the way we act, most of the information stored in the brain is accumulated throughout life. This does disqualify biological determinism alone as an explanation for our actions, although it can still be treated as a contributing factor in a more complete theory of determinism. For example, in a free will theory that uses O Connor s definition of free will, some biological genetic processes could explain our primal, animalistic desires, that cause us to act out of character . The behavioral (environmental) determinism perspective argues that the environment we are reared in has a massive effect on our perspective on reality; thus, it can be used to predict the decisions we will make in a given circumstance. This does not, however, prove that all of life is determined by causal chains, as is posited by determinists, it simply bolsters the idea that nurture plays a large role in developing our character. It provides no evidence to show that a certain childhood environment is somehow indicative of the likelihood of certain specific decisions in a certain situation. Adequate determinism, arguably the most rational of all deterministic schools of thought, is guided by statistical laws, and does not claim to be able to predict everything perfectly. It only claims to predict things that have been sufficiently experimented and explained by classical laws in the macroscopic world and, thus, does not claim to explain issues presented by QM that are contradictory to ... The results reported in models 2, 3, 4 in Table 6 and models 11, 12 and 13 in Table 7 respectively. The results are basically the same with slight different in the coefficients significant. Nevertheless there is negative impact of GOWN on risk disclosure however this relation is insignificant. Also the results show the FOWN and CC has more impact in IBs rather than CBs and DBs. Finally, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Third, we test the robustness of our results by re regressing equation (1) and equation (2) using weighted RDI as alternative risk disclosure index. The results reported in Table 7 are mostly the same with those results reported in Table 6 with slight different in the coefficients significant, therefore these findings indicates that our results are robust whether RDI is un weighted or weighted. Finally, and to test potential endogeneity problems which have been debated to be a common problem in CG studies (Elshandidy Neri, 2015; Larcker Rusticus, 2010; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015; Ntim et al., 2013; Ntim Soobaroyen, 2013), we uses 3SLS because it is more efficient than 2SLS (Belsley, 1988; Larcker Rusticus, 2010; Zellner Theil, 1962). Three stages least squares (3SLS) methodology consist of three steps: estimates MLG instrumental values in first step, estimates the covariance matrix for MLG instrumental values based on the residuals in second step and finally, performs GLS regression based on covariance matrix (Dennis Taisier, 2014; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015). Therefore, the model to be estimated is specified as: (2) Where everything remains unaffected as identified in equation (1) except that we use the covariance matrix from the second step ...
