The City Of Florence First Place For A Movement Essay
Gathering of people form village, villages become town and it grows to become a city. For centuries,
city has acted as the centre for social, political changes since the dawn of history, especially after
Renaissance, where the city of Florence first demonstrate the power of individual can be attracted to
one location and become an iconic place for a movement. Since then, city has become the birthplace
for many movement socially, economically or politically, where against or comfort to oppression,
resistance of any kind, or leading revolution that changed the way of life around the world. To
investigate the reasons behind this relations, events throughout were being explored. The end of
seignorialism forces people to move to city for employment opportunity and therefore provided labour
force for mass labour and industrial revolution escalated the pace of urbanization. People forms city,
and each individual has their own opinion, therefore city is a place where the idea clashed and the new
ideology formed everyday, this is why city is the source of change. Since renaissance, the proportion
of population dwelling in urban area has been ever increasing, therefore in the city information
transfers faster, and there is a higher chance for people to rise up in the city than the country side, due
to the proximity. Some movements strengthen the role of the city and create a new way of life such as
Renaissance and industrial revolution, where it is taken in a non violent form and

Maritime Compass Llc Essay
1. How much is the Bet Performer worth based on comparable transactions? What ship is the best
reference transaction? (the closest comparable)? Comparable transaction is a conventional method of
evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. To value a ship, one had to identify a set of
comparable ships where comparability was based on four main factors: ship type, size (DWT), age,
and condition. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997, 172,000 DWT capsize bulk
carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most comparable to Bet Performer. They
are Martha Verity, Ingenious, Sumihou, Cape Sun, and Coppersmith. These ships all have the most
similar characteristics, in terms of ship type, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is logical because, larger the ships, more load could they carry, and thus make higher profits, so
are priced higher. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we find that as the
ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense because as with any
other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets older, the carrying value of
the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter rates and Ship Price: With one point
increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln.
The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good for 25 years, after which they are
demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship breaking differed by ship size and type
category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the ship. b. Can you think of other factors that
might predict ship prices? Apart from the 4 factors ship type, DWT, ship age and gears, there are a
couple of other factors which affect the ship price. They are Type of main engine, Confirmed time
charter contracts with creditworthy counter parties Loading equipment (cranes and derricks) Shipyard
(original builder) Location (where the ship was at the time of sale) All these affected the price of the
ship, and hence can be used to

American Involvement In Vietnam
Being a Vietnamese, I always take great pride in my nation, whose peasantry army defeated
imperialism. Vietnam has endured many hardships throughout its course of history, suffering the
Chinese one thousand year occupation, the colonial rule of French and the involvement of America in
Vietnam s war. Although it was believed that an underdeveloped country like Vietnam couldn t have
vanquished these brutal enemies, they inflicted a heavy defeat on these invaders. Bravery, strategic
thinking and solidarity were what contributed to all the stunning victories that the Vietnamese gained.
One of the most remarkable victories was the conquest of America in the spring of 1975, which
significantly marked the end of the Vietnam war and the start of national ... Show more content on

The Vietnam war had taken a severe toll on Vietnam infrastructure, economy and employment. Hence,
the introduction of communism was a last resort to Vietnam in the post war period considering the
equality it promoted. The socialist government with its centrally directed economic system distributed
food, conveniences and other properties evenly to Vietnamese people, no matter whether it was the
rich or the needy.
Another significant argument is that the victory over the United States military forces encouraged
other enslaved nations to liberate from imperial rule. America had entered the conflict in Vietnam as
the most mighty army in the world but left Vietnam with a humiliating defeat, shockingly high
casualties and far reaching consequences on economy and domestic politics. Evidently, this raised
high morale over oppressed countries and sparked off revolutionary uprisings.
All thing considered, The Vietnam war was obviously crucial to not only Vietnam itself but also a
global scale. The Vietnam war, which was the only battle America lost, marked the independence of
Vietnam after a long period of being occupied, fostered the development of communism and
supported national liberation movement on the

Music Programs In Schools
Music programs are not in all schools. (What percentages of schools have music programs?) Music
can help students in so many aspects of life, but schools aren t investing in the music program. (How
much on average is a music program cost?) All high schools need to have elective music programs in
order to see benefit their grade averages, to create career preparation, to build teamwork skills, and to
boost student participation in school. Schools are so focused on grade improvement and getting better
scores on state mandated tests each year that they are not taking the time to think about the benefit that
music programs could achieve in this aspect. It has been proven that music students score higher on
standardized tests than non music students. (What percentage?) (Where else, how else do we see grade
improvement?) (What is the average scores received?) Because of higher grades and classes offered in
a music program, students become more prepared to start a career. Music students become passionate

Teamwork is established by the need to blend together and be on time with each other, as well as the
director. If one is not correct in the timing, all will fall apart and phasing or ripples will happen. This
will cause things to sound or look horrendous. If someone is off pitch, it will be noticed, and the
audience will not enjoy that performance. (What more can I say about friendship?) There are also
many team building exercises that are done when training in order for a successful show. In marching
band when the drum majors are selected, they are sent to a camp for a week where they learn different
activities that can be done with their classmates to build that sense of teamwork even more. Not only
does this camp bring together the drum majors, it brings together the entire unit that performs on the

The Curse Of Monterone In Act 1 Of Rigoletto
The curse of Monterone At the end of scene 1 of act 1 of Giuseppe Verdi s famous opera, Rigoletto,
the Duke s hunchbacked court jester (Rigoletto, a baritone) is cursed by Count Monterone (also a
baritone); this incident is commonly referred to as the curse of Monterone. The scene goes as follows:
the Count of Monterone, furious with the Duke for having seduced his daughter and dishonored his
family name, barges into the Duke s extravagant ball seeking revenge and dramatically changing the
mood and tone of the scene. Rigoletto, who is ever eager to remain in favor with the Duke, cruelly
mocks the Count (which only serves to further enrage him). Interestingly, instead of putting a booming
orchestra underneath the deep voices of the Count and Rigoletto, Verdi instead chose to use violins to
indicated the intense nervousness of the situation. The Duke promptly has the Count arrested, and as
he is being taken away by the guards the Count turns to Rigoletto and delivers a powerful curse upon
him. It is the curse of a father, and Rigoletto, who is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As it is generally understood today, bel canto refers to the Italian originated vocal style which
prevailed throughout most of Europe during the 18th century until about 1840. It originated with the
first operas during the Baroque era (early 1700s) and was later revived by Rossini, Donizetti and
Bellini. During this time, bel canto was a reassertion of the emphasis on the voice as the most
important expressive element in opera, in distinct contrast to the other popular operatic vocal styles of
the time. The words of bel canto operas can be rather dull, but their open vowels allow singers to
create beautiful music that effectively expresses the feelings of the character. The vocal line in bel
canto scores calls for soft, rounded notes and great agility in ornamentation and

Preliminary study on strength and durability properties of pH adjusted fluorogypsum cement fly ash

A preliminary investigation of strength and durability properties of a low cost concrete like system
made of pH adjusted fluorogypsum (FG), class C fly ash (FA), and type II Portland cement (PC). A
series of compressive strength tests and volumetric expansion measurements were conducted on
specimens after 28 days of curing. The experimental results were used to develop response surface
models (RSMs). These RSMs can be used to predict accurately compressive strength and volumetric
expansion as functions of the relative content, in dry weight, of different components. The RSMs ...

The long term compressive strength of the FG based blend was investigated under prolonged
immersion in seawater, demonstrating that the material strength does not degrade below its 28 day
value after one year of immersion and exposure to field environmental actions. The compressive
strength under field conditions was compared to the material kept under laboratory conditions. This
comparison indicated a moderate reduction (27%) in compressive strength after one year. A visual
examination of the immersed specimens showed that aquatic organisms covered most of the FG based
samples surface, which indicated that these organisms are attracted to the proposed material. A small
artificial reef structure made of a FG based blend was built and placed underwater at a site in Grand
Isle, LA and investigated for stability and settlement for nine months. Monitoring of the structure over
the immersion period indicated that settlement due to the structure was stable. A preliminary cost
analysis was performed to compare the cost of artificial reefs constructed with the FG based blend,
crushed limestone, or crushed recycled concrete. The results of this study suggest that the proposed
FG based blend is a promising environment friendly material for artificial reef construction, which can
provide significant economic advantages when compared to other materials commonly used in coastal
development projects.

Impact Of Corporate Social Responsibility On A Company s...
To what extent is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) beneficial to a company s performance?
Sub prompt: Evaluate how CSR can be beneficial to company s financial performance.
1. Introduction Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become more influential when making
company s decisions. 53% of the S P, an index based on market capitalizations of 500 U.S. companies,
has published CSR reports in 2012 as compared to 19% in 2011. An approach, suggested by Business

Section three comments the limitations of empirical findings and CSR.
2. Impacts on Financial Performance
2.1 Cost Companies committed to CSR are expected to reduce operating costs. One of the key areas in
CSR practices is paying attention to environmental issues such as energy saving and avoidance of
excessive use of inputs. The promotion of resource efficiency including using less energy and water
lower the utility costs. Nonetheless, a reduction in the use of packaging materials helps to reduce
production cost.
Brand equity has been viewed as the most crucial intangible assets of the company. Cornell and
Shapiro (1987) suggested that the firms are able to establish reputation capital if they adopt CSR
measures. Customers are more willing to spend on products that are produced by companies with
good brand images. An adverse example has illustrated the importance of brand image with the
scandal of Primark, a well known fast fashion clothing chains. The clothing retailer is found to break
its code of conducts and employ illegal workers in poor working conditions. When BBC revealed the
dishonored behavior, it cost Primark millions of dollars in information and advertising campaigns to
restore consumer loyalty. It implies that a socially responsible firm that follows CSR practices can
have less risk of negative rare events and thus avoid unnecessary cost.

equal. (Martin Luther King) The other, a man who spoke of a violent revolution, which would bring

Gibbs Model Of Reflective Report
The topic I m choosing to discuss for this clinical skills assignment is the manual sphygmomanometer
or also known as the manual blood pressure. All nursing students are required to have the ability to
carry out the clinical or practical skill safely (Nursing and Midwifery Council 2008). The reflective
model I will be using for this reflection on this skill is the Gibbs Model of Reflection (1988) which
consists of five elements. They are the descriptions, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and an
action plan. The reason why I chose this skill of all other clinical skills is because this blood pressure

Core Values Of Civil Rights
From the 1930s to the 1960s, many events, such as World War II, the Cold War, and the Civil Rights
Movement took place. During World War II, Japanese Americans were wrongfully interned, African
Americans were discriminated against in the military and the workforce, and American citizens were
lied to about the Manhattan Project. Within the Cold War, as well as the Post World War II era, The Un
american Activities Committee was formed, women were discriminated against in the workforce, and
African Americans faced racism from those who dealt with the GI Bill of Rights. From the 1950s to
the 1960s, during the Civil Rights Movement, Emmett Till s murderers and the Ku Klux Klan
members who bombed a church were not found guilty, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote his
Letter from Birmingham Jail . These events did not show the core values that the United States does
not always adhere and promote the democratic values of liberty, equality, and justice upon which it
was founded in a moral, political, and social standpoint.
Liberty is one of the democratic values that the United States was founded upon. Liberty is defined as
being free and having rights, such as the rights of citizenship, which is amendment fourteen. These

Unconditional Love
All parents have a different opinion on how to raise children depending on their personalities. They
have different views on what is believed right or wrong. These views can shape the qualities they have
whether they are good or bad. My parents love me and care for me a lot, which causes one of their
best and worst qualities.
Event:
My parents having unconditional love for me cause them to feel the need to always look out for me.
They still believe that I am a little girl and I probably will always be one in their eyes. This love,
however, always causes them to try to control my life in order to keep me safe. I believe that this is
one of the worst qualities that they have because they do not let me make my own decisions on what is
right and what is wrong. They are way too overprotective about certain aspects in my life, such as
dating and going out. The love that they have for me also leads to their best quality of caring for me
unconditionally. Whenever I m feeling sick or down my parents are always there for me to make me
feel better.
Exploration:
I believe that since my parents are so strict, my relationship with them has slowly drifted apart. I am
not so close to them anymore because the problems I have now as an 18 year old, I am not able to
share it with them. They do care about me a lot, but they are not open to accepting my life decisions
and look down upon them, which makes me feel as if I cannot go to them when I need help for certain

After more than 50 years of offering largely homogenous products and maintaining a bureaucratic

expanded product diversification, increased competition, and the volume and speed of change

managers expressed concerns regarding the speed and volume of change, eroding lines of

loss of the company s family oriented feel, and unsustainable uncertainty.
In conclusion, Christine must manage more than the physical consolidation of her teams if she intends

employees will undoubtedly align as

Sociological Explanations For Gender Differences
Outline and Assess Sociological Explanations for Gender Differences in Crime Rates
Current statistics show that men commit 80% of all crime and women commit only 20%. However
there are arguments to suggest that the statistics highlight an under representation of female
criminality, and there are many sociological arguments to suggest that female criminals are treated
more leniently. On the other hand, some sociologists believe women are treated more harshly when
they commit certain types of crime. This essay aims to assess the reasons for gender differences in
reported crime rates.
Official crime rates are measured by crimes reported and recorded by the police and criminal justice
system, and are collected by the Home Office. Frances Heidensohn (1975) believes that male
criminality is 5 times higher than female criminality, which current data supports. However, Otto
Pollak (1961) was the first sociologist to argue that crime rates for female crime were inaccurate. He
believed that women were treated more leniently by the police and criminal justice system, which
highlighted the under representation of female criminality in the official statistics. He argued that
women were more likely to commit crimes such as petty theft, prostitution and criminal abortions,
which were then likely to be treated more leniently. Pollak s theories have been widely criticised and
may not be relevant today; indeed he failed to take into account the decriminalisation of abortion in
many of the

rules. Children try to acquire these sounds through listening. By the time goes on, they have a
linguistics competence that helps them produce meaningful sounds. Students who learn a second

The Phonetic Inventory of Saudi Arabic Many research papers have talked about measuring stop
consonants voicing. There are many researchers put their attention on figuring out the difficulties of
pronouncing voicing and voiceless consonants by L2 learners such as (Binturki, 2008; Flege and Port,
1981; Al Saidat, 2010). The difference between voicing and voiceless consonants is the voicing that
occurs during the stop closure interval. The consonant is voiced when there is voicing, while if there is
no voicing, the consonant is voiceless. However, Lisker and Abramason (1964) do not see that
consonant stops (p, b, t, d, k, g) could be distinguished depending on a distinction feature like the
vocal cords voicing. For that reason, they proposed a distinction feature between voiced and voiceless
consonants which is Voice Onset Time (VOT). They defined VOT as the time interval between the
burst that marks release of the stop closure and the onset of quasi periodicity that reflects laryngeal
vibration (1964, 422). Since English voiceless bilabial stop /p/ is not found in Saudi Arabic, Saudi
speakers of English as a second language have two possible ways to pronounce it. First, they could not
care about the distinction feature, then they could

Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills
Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by
Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits
three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a farmer,
second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor and
reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits never
change at any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes.
The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the plot
as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in the
community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in when he says
...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131) Mr. Wills appears to
show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing watermelons. As the narrator put it;
Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and
leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest, biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait
did not change during the story; never was it revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in
his patch, or that he was importing prize melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is
just a talented man.
The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious examples of
him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him yelling for a mile.
(Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of anger and then regretting
them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch! (Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined
the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes show that Mr. Wills has a tendency
to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not change through the story, instead it is fully
revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot

Heredity and Hormones Effect on Behavior Essay
Human behavior has been a mystery to scientists and psychologists for years. What causes humans to
act the way they do? Is it learned by experience, or inherited from prior generations? The human brain
is a complex machine driven by numerous intangibles that influence our thinking process directly and
indirectly.
The endocrine system in the human body stores a chemical known as hormones. Hormones are
released by endocrine glands into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body carrying messages.
A hormonal impulse is similar to a nerve impulse only much slower. The messages carried by the
hormones trigger different behaviors. Hormones can affect behavior in many ways such as: Mental
activity or tiredness, boredom or excitement, sexual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both glands produce two distinct hormones, but produce differing amounts of each hormone.
Masculine hormones such as androgens and testosterone are predominately produced by male testes.
These hormones at high levels can be related to aggressive behavior regardless of sex, but high levels
are most commonly found in males. High levels of feminine hormones or estrogen, most commonly
found in females, have recently been linked to aggressive behavior as well. While high levels of
estrogen in females and high levels of testosterone in males have been linked to aggressive behavior,
normal levels of these hormones have been known to cause aggression as well. Although these
hormones have been related to human behavior, scientists have concluded that these hormones alone
do not dictate behavior (Morris Maisto, 2005).
Adrenal glands, located near the kidneys, secrete several hormones that are activated by the nervous
system. These hormones dictate the body s reaction to stressful situations. Each person secretes a
different amount of hormones, therefore affecting behavior in stressful situations differently (Morris
Maisto, 2005).
Behavior is party affected by human hormones present in the body built from genetic traits inherited
from the individual s parents. The genetic makeup of an individual combined with a certain
environment, can affect behavior. Genetics is the science of analyzing traits inherited through
generations. These traits are determined by genes that

There was no real research done about RuneScape, the game the court case was on. This showed the
author to be lazy. He did do research on EVE which shows inconsideration and bias because he chose
to do research on a topic that had nothing to do with the case and it was something he was familiar
with. Weiss shows himself to being bias in the fact that he offers no rebuttal to his argument. The
author willingly gave up information in his personal story that proves himself to be dishonest and
untrustworthy. Weiss stated that he was in an e relationship with someone who thought he was a girl
(729). Weiss did use a good source when it comes to his subject. His source is good for gamers, but
the author is writing to non gamers and they may see his source as unreliable. Weiss has presented
himself to be lazy, bias, inconsiderate, dishonest, and untrustworthy. Weiss ethics will end up being
called into question and this will weaken the effectiveness of his argument rather than present himself

Introduction
Ivan Pavlov is a Russian physiologist. He is well known for his behaviorism and psychosocial
experiments in the psychology society. In 1883, he earned his Doctorate Degree in Medicine at the
Academy of Medical Surgery, University of St. Petersburg (Palmes, 2000). After performing further

Noughts and Crosses Analysis Essay
Noughts and Crosses Analysis Novels help authors to explore a range of important issues in society,
which Malorie Blackman clearly portrays through Noughts and Crosses. This novel follows the lives
and experiences of two characters, Callum and Sephy. Throughout the book Blackman deals with a
number of key issues including racism and prejudice, love and friendship and lastly, violent and
peaceful protest. These themes are identified through different layers of meaning of her writing using
textual evidence. This is conveyed through the narrative techniques of characterisation, structure and
language in order to communicate the important messages to the readers. Blackman has created a
world of her own to contrast the society we live in, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Callum and Sephy represent an ideal relationship in a world full of human variety that s very far from
ideal. We can not be the same in regard to colour of our skin but can tolerate and respect each other.
Blackman gives both Callum and Sephy different voices, which develop throughout the novel. Sephy
sounds quite young at the beginning of the book. She uses a lot of exclamation marks and she dwells
upon the way events make her feel. While Callum comes across as older and more experienced from
the beginning, he shows more awareness of other people s feelings and he tends to react to problems
with bitter humour. Although his voice does matter as the story progresses, it doesn t change as much
as Sephy s. Both Sephy and Callum have a lot in common. They re bright, confident and strong willed
with strong feelings towards fairness and equality in in that light towards each other. But they can not
deny their different background and upbringing. Sephy grew up in a privileged and sheltered home
and because of this she is naĂŻve to real life troubles, optimistic and expects life will work out well.
Callum has grown up seeing his parents, brother and sister facing all sorts of problems and life
hardship. His experience has taught him that however hard he tries in life, it will be difficult for him to
succeed therefore he s more cautious and pessimistic than Sephy. The author uses language as a tool to

The Narrative Of The Captivity And The Restoration Of Mrs....
An Indian attack on Lancaster during King Phillip s War resulted in the capture of twenty four people.
Mary Rowlandson was among these captives, and the resulting captivity narrative, titled The Narrative
of the Captivity and the Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, published in 1682, is formed based on
her memory. Rowlandson s captivity narrative carried great significance in that it came to be used as a
didactic Jeremiad, leading its Calvinist audience back towards God s path and away from an
allegorical wilderness. As a devout Calvinist, Rowlandson believes that her journey through captivity
is a test wrought by her God. Her deep desire to prove herself to her God comes through clearly in
several situations that ultimately define her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon returning from pillaging another English town, an Indian offers Mary Rowlandson a gift of a
Bible, which he had stolen from a dead English townsperson. The usage of the word plunder connoted
the violent force used to obtain the Bible. This enhances the significance of the irony of Rowlandson
overlooking the fact that someone was murdered in order for her to receiver her gift. Rowlandson s
Calvinist views, which made her believe that God brought the Bible to her, outweighed any sympathy
for nay anonymous English person, and the intended demographic (late 15th century Calvinists) of
readers of this captivity narrative would have agreed. An alternative example presents itself when
Rowlandson attempts to convince Goodwife Joslin, a very pregnant captive who was becoming
impatient and wanted to go home, not to run away., I wished her not to run away by any means [...]
We opened the Bible and lightened on Psalm 27 [...] Wait on the Lord, Be good of courage, and he
shall strengthen thine Heart, wait I say on the Lord. (4); Rowlandson utilizes her Bible as a tool to
steer others into the light of God, whether it means deteriorating their own safety and health, proving
that she will lack sympathy for humans in favor of devotion to her God. Mary Rowlandson s feelings
toward food, even in times of starvation, are shaped by her belief that God provides (or does not
provide) everything. Three weeks go by, and Mary Rowlandson finds herself

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. These powerful words were penned in a letter
from a prison cell of Birmingham Jail in 1963, by one of America s best known advocate of equal
rights Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. According to him, all humans are caught in an inescapable network
of mutuality, tied in single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.

Each of the different spheres expresses the principles of justice and fairness in its own way, resulting
in different types and concepts of justice; distributive, procedural, retributive, and restorative. These
types of justice have important implications for socio economic, political, civil, and criminal justice at
both the national and international level.
Distributive justice, or economic justice, is concerned with giving all members of society a fair share
of the benefits and resources available. Fair allocation of resources, or distributive justice, is crucial to
the stability of a society and the well being of its members. When issues of distributive justice are
inadequately addressed and the item to be distributed is highly valued, intractable conflicts frequently
result.
Procedural justice is concerned with making and implementing decisions according to fair processes
that ensure fair treatment. Rules must be impartially followed and consistently applied in order to
generate an unbiased decision. If people believe procedures to be fair, they will be more likely to
accept outcomes, even ones that they do not like. Implementing fair procedures is central to many
dispute resolution procedures, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and adjudication.
Retributive justice appeals to the notion of just dessert the idea that . people deserve to be treated in
the same way they treat others. It is a retroactive approach that justifies

It s blistering hot, as the sun beats the soul out of the barren atmosphere of deserted Djibouti. The sand
awakens, as barefoot boys chase a ragged ball down the terrain. Blood pouring from his shins, a boy
quickly gains control of the jagged sphere and gracefully runs toward a handmade goalpost. He begins
to celebrate as the majestic parabola lands perfectly in the net. Twenty three years later, the world s
eyes would watch on as that same boy would make history running toward something far greater: the

The framework breaks down my literature review to explain female performances in science fiction
horror films in a visual aspect. It focused on the two research questions stated below:
RQ1: Have female roles changed in science fiction horror films over the years?
RQ2: Have these characters influenced a change with women in the society?
These questions a long with my theory, method, and definitions are located in the center of the poster.
Then, going in a clockwise, to the right we have the mother section. Here the woman s role in science

Homelessness And The United States
Homelessness has always been a present problem in the United States. It is caused by many factors
that some of us are not aware of. The situations of these people hurt their families and local
communities alike. Two sources were examined for their content on these issues. This essay describes
the hardships of homelessness and what can be done to help these people.
Helping the Homeless Many people have gotten to experience what life is like in big cities or small
rural communities. Often times, these places have a population of wealthier people and an area of
poorer families. What many do not experience is what it is like to be homeless in these places.
Homeless men, women and children can be seen under bridges, on front stoops, in cars, and several
other locations of shelter . This problem is more common and local than a lot of us believe. Whether
we know it or not, we have people that are struggling with homelessness in our own communities
today. This epidemic is more real than we may ever know. It is very sad to imagine these people living
in these conditions but things can be done to help. Homelessness is a reality in local communities and
can be improved through schools, educational programs, charity, and helping them overcome barriers
or stressors. There are numerous common misconceptions about the homeless and how they are being
helped. People usually picture a homeless person as lazy (known as a bum ) or unfit for society. It

Personal Narrative-Poudre For The River In Colorado
Today will be different. Morning rain softens, and hope rises. I must capture the entire hazy brown

Colorado where we first met. The name refers to a cache of gunpowder hidden along its banks, but to
us it just means clear water over stone. Each day begins with a ritual: She shakes her head and jingles
her collar as I reach for the railing. Descending, I hear a clicking little dance below. Her breath is
heavy and I open the front door. She leaps out into the garden, I tell her to stay with me today, but she
is already gone. Out of sight, she is galloping down the lane. She is our heart: blood up, out of hand,
out ahead. I walk on slowly, looking for the first pure light of morning. She waits for me there, and I
check on the flowers. Soon, I tell her it is time to go. She turns, picks up the paper, and trots slowly
now, back towards the house. I smile and sigh and follow her back. Through the front door, she heads
straight for his waiting feet. She plops the paper down proudly and turns to me. Now it is time for

The Effects Of The Various States Of Consciousness On...
Consciousness is the state or condition of being conscious. A sense of one s personal or collective
identity, especially the complex of attitudes, beliefs, and sensitivities held by or considered
characteristic of an individual or a group. There are several different stages of consciousness. Waking
consciousness, altered states of consciousness and sleep.
Waking consciousness is the mental state that includes moving and thinking, along with anything else
done while we are awake and alert. Behavior during this period is as normal as it can be. Although
behavior can differ from person to person, although most people go through the relatively same

have a different effect on behavior, depending on the drugs potency and side effects. Alcohol is one of
the most widely used drugs there are. It s effects on behavior and personalities are known by most,
whether they abuse it, use it, or neither. Since alcohol is a depressant while being intoxicated, people s
response time, and decision making are effected strongly as the amount of alcohol taken in rises. At a
blood alcohol level of .05%, a person feels good and is a little less alert than normal. At .1%, a person
is slow to react and much less cautious. At .15%, a person s reaction time is much slower. At .2%, the
sensory motor skills are largely suppressed. At .25%, a person will most likely be staggering and have
very bad perception. At .3%, the person is at a semi stupor. At .35%, a person is at a level for
anesthesia and, depending on tolerance and body weight, could possibly die; And finally at .4% death
is likely. People like drinking alcoholic beverages because of the feeling of courage, being care free
and spontaneous. While drinking, the user may exuberate all of these feelings and act more sexual and
aggressive than they normally would. After abusing alcohol for a long period of time a person may

Importance Of Learning A Secondary Language
I believe that learning a secondary language is necessary to get where you want to go in life. For most
people that have jobs there is always going to be a customer or another co worker that speaks a
different language than you. You should learn a different language for traveling purposes so if you
want to go to a different country you will know the main language in that country. Learning a different
language is good to know to make friends living in other places that know a different language than
you. Knowing a secondary language is a graduation requirement and can even help you improve your
test scores.
The first reason you should learn different languages other than your first language is because, you
may need to know it for your job. When you get a job there could be customers that may be speaking
a different language and you will not know how to help them. There could be a person that is deaf and
you will not be able to help them find what they are looking for and help them to your best ability.
Don t you want to be the person that is able to help people speaking a different language? You do not
want to end up in the situation where you need to look for a co working to help what the customer is
trying to say to you or ask of you. You should learn another language to open up a world of job
opportunities.
For example, when I get my future job as a large animal vet my main secondary languages that I will
need to know are spanish and especially since we live in the

The Final Game Before The Championship

English 1/2 (3)
Short Story Rough Draft
The final game before the championship. We had been training for a month now and the gruesome
work had finally paid off. We were more than ready to march on the field and take the championship.
We won our league division and if we won the next game we play then we were headed to the national
championship. Our team had never won the championship and we really wanted to win it. In the
locker room before the game our coach emphatically said, You boys play like it is the last game of
your career. Nothing should stop you and when you touch the field I want you to feel like winners.
You see that trophy there, that is our trophy and when we go out on the field we hold our heads high
and we fight to win. We are winners and nothing in this world can stand between us from the trophy.
We were jumping up and down trying to get our blood flowing and when the referees called us on the
field.
Beep. The whistle blows. Our coach pumped us up with a great motivational speech to make us play
the hardest we could. We start shaky, however due to a couple of great saves by our goalkeeper we
were still in the game. At half time it was tied. We stuffed ourselves with oranges before we ran on the
field for the second half. Our team started off very well due to a great speech by our coach and we
gained a monstrous two zero lead. The win looked inevitable, however, our team got way too
confident and we let in two goals and before we knew it

the juvenile court system. As children move from one foster home to the next, consumed by the legal
system they are too young to understand; a CASA becomes the one constant these children have.
CASA provides a helping hand to these children; they are fundamentally an extra set of eyes and ears

Critical Incidents Of Academic Institutions
Critical Incidents in Academic Institutions The critical incident technique is used to gather and analyze
an employees behavior through methods such as observation and interviews (Andersson
Nilsson,1964). This technique is useful in collecting information regarding behavior that amounts to
successful or unsuccessful in a performance (Peterson, Jeanneret, 2007). The procedures utilized in the
critical incident technique allows for the similarities, differences and patterns of behaviors to be
analyzed. This process aids in the solving of problems, and establishing principles (Hughes,
Williamson, Lloyd, 2007; Flanagan, 1954). According to Shapira Lishchinsky (2010), utilizing critical
incident reports in schools assist in enabling the management of errors, support and autonomy, which
in turn reduces ethical friction. In regard to the school setting, critical incidents include minor
incidents that occur daily in schools. Because of the nature of the job, middle school teachers can face
critical incidents that involve both moral and ethical conflict (Shapira Lishchinsky, 2010). However,
the classification or weather it is negative or positive is based on the meaning given by a teacher,
observer, etc. Nonetheless, critical incidents and behaviors are important to identify as it can be
detrimental to a teachers professional career (Shapira Lishchinsky, 2010). One example of a positive

the industry in which it operates. Essentially, Buffett believes that people should only invest in
companies with which they are familiar. Along these lines, one of his strongholds is that many people

  • 2. The City Of Florence First Place For A Movement Essay Gathering of people form village, villages become town and it grows to become a city. For centuries, city has acted as the centre for social, political changes since the dawn of history, especially after Renaissance, where the city of Florence first demonstrate the power of individual can be attracted to one location and become an iconic place for a movement. Since then, city has become the birthplace for many movement socially, economically or politically, where against or comfort to oppression, resistance of any kind, or leading revolution that changed the way of life around the world. To investigate the reasons behind this relations, events throughout were being explored. The end of seignorialism forces people to move to city for employment opportunity and therefore provided labour force for mass labour and industrial revolution escalated the pace of urbanization. People forms city, and each individual has their own opinion, therefore city is a place where the idea clashed and the new ideology formed everyday, this is why city is the source of change. Since renaissance, the proportion of population dwelling in urban area has been ever increasing, therefore in the city information transfers faster, and there is a higher chance for people to rise up in the city than the country side, due to the proximity. • 3. Maritime Compass Llc Essay 1. How much is the Bet Performer worth based on comparable transactions? What ship is the best reference transaction? (the closest comparable)? Comparable transaction is a conventional method of evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. To value a ship, one had to identify a set of comparable ships where comparability was based on four main factors: ship type, size (DWT), age, and condition. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997, 172,000 DWT capsize bulk carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most comparable to Bet Performer. They are Martha Verity, Ingenious, Sumihou, Cape Sun, and Coppersmith. These ships all have the most similar characteristics, in terms of ship type, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is logical because, larger the ships, more load could they carry, and thus make higher profits, so are priced higher. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we find that as the ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense because as with any other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets older, the carrying value of the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter rates and Ship Price: With one point increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln. The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good for 25 years, after which they are demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship breaking differed by ship size and type category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the ship. b. Can you think of other factors that might predict ship prices? Apart from the 4 factors ship type, DWT, ship age and gears, there are a couple of other factors which affect the ship price. They are Type of main engine, Confirmed time charter contracts with creditworthy counter parties Loading equipment (cranes and derricks) Shipyard (original builder) Location (where the ship was at the time of sale) All these affected the price of the ship, and hence can be used to ... • 4. American Involvement In Vietnam Being a Vietnamese, I always take great pride in my nation, whose peasantry army defeated imperialism. Vietnam has endured many hardships throughout its course of history, suffering the Chinese one thousand year occupation, the colonial rule of French and the involvement of America in Vietnam s war. Although it was believed that an underdeveloped country like Vietnam couldn t have vanquished these brutal enemies, they inflicted a heavy defeat on these invaders. Bravery, strategic thinking and solidarity were what contributed to all the stunning victories that the Vietnamese gained. One of the most remarkable victories was the conquest of America in the spring of 1975, which significantly marked the end of the Vietnam war and the start of national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Vietnam war had taken a severe toll on Vietnam infrastructure, economy and employment. Hence, the introduction of communism was a last resort to Vietnam in the post war period considering the equality it promoted. The socialist government with its centrally directed economic system distributed food, conveniences and other properties evenly to Vietnamese people, no matter whether it was the rich or the needy. Another significant argument is that the victory over the United States military forces encouraged other enslaved nations to liberate from imperial rule. America had entered the conflict in Vietnam as the most mighty army in the world but left Vietnam with a humiliating defeat, shockingly high casualties and far reaching consequences on economy and domestic politics. Evidently, this raised high morale over oppressed countries and sparked off revolutionary uprisings. All thing considered, The Vietnam war was obviously crucial to not only Vietnam itself but also a global scale. The Vietnam war, which was the only battle America lost, marked the independence of Vietnam after a long period of being occupied, fostered the development of communism and supported national liberation movement on the ... • 5. Music Programs In Schools Music programs are not in all schools. (What percentages of schools have music programs?) Music can help students in so many aspects of life, but schools aren t investing in the music program. (How much on average is a music program cost?) All high schools need to have elective music programs in order to see benefit their grade averages, to create career preparation, to build teamwork skills, and to boost student participation in school. Schools are so focused on grade improvement and getting better scores on state mandated tests each year that they are not taking the time to think about the benefit that music programs could achieve in this aspect. It has been proven that music students score higher on standardized tests than non music students. (What percentage?) (Where else, how else do we see grade improvement?) (What is the average scores received?) Because of higher grades and classes offered in a music program, students become more prepared to start a career. Music students become passionate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teamwork is established by the need to blend together and be on time with each other, as well as the director. If one is not correct in the timing, all will fall apart and phasing or ripples will happen. This will cause things to sound or look horrendous. If someone is off pitch, it will be noticed, and the audience will not enjoy that performance. (What more can I say about friendship?) There are also many team building exercises that are done when training in order for a successful show. In marching band when the drum majors are selected, they are sent to a camp for a week where they learn different activities that can be done with their classmates to build that sense of teamwork even more. Not only does this camp bring together the drum majors, it brings together the entire unit that performs on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Curse Of Monterone In Act 1 Of Rigoletto The curse of Monterone At the end of scene 1 of act 1 of Giuseppe Verdi s famous opera, Rigoletto, the Duke s hunchbacked court jester (Rigoletto, a baritone) is cursed by Count Monterone (also a baritone); this incident is commonly referred to as the curse of Monterone. The scene goes as follows: the Count of Monterone, furious with the Duke for having seduced his daughter and dishonored his family name, barges into the Duke s extravagant ball seeking revenge and dramatically changing the mood and tone of the scene. Rigoletto, who is ever eager to remain in favor with the Duke, cruelly mocks the Count (which only serves to further enrage him). Interestingly, instead of putting a booming orchestra underneath the deep voices of the Count and Rigoletto, Verdi instead chose to use violins to indicated the intense nervousness of the situation. The Duke promptly has the Count arrested, and as he is being taken away by the guards the Count turns to Rigoletto and delivers a powerful curse upon him. As it is generally understood today, bel canto refers to the Italian originated vocal style which prevailed throughout most of Europe during the 18th century until about 1840. It originated with the first operas during the Baroque era (early 1700s) and was later revived by Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini. During this time, bel canto was a reassertion of the emphasis on the voice as the most important expressive element in opera, in distinct contrast to the other popular operatic vocal styles of the time. The words of bel canto operas can be rather dull, but their open vowels allow singers to create beautiful music that effectively expresses the feelings of the character. Essay On Industrial By-Product Materials Usage of industrial by product materials in construction Preliminary study on strength and durability properties of pH adjusted fluorogypsum cement fly ash blends A preliminary investigation of strength and durability properties of a low cost concrete like system made of pH adjusted fluorogypsum (FG), class C fly ash (FA), and type II Portland cement (PC). A series of compressive strength tests and volumetric expansion measurements were conducted on specimens after 28 days of curing. The experimental results were used to develop response surface models (RSMs). These RSMs can be used to predict accurately compressive strength and volumetric expansion as functions of the relative content, in dry weight, of different components. The RSMs ... The long term compressive strength of the FG based blend was investigated under prolonged immersion in seawater, demonstrating that the material strength does not degrade below its 28 day value after one year of immersion and exposure to field environmental actions. The compressive strength under field conditions was compared to the material kept under laboratory conditions. This comparison indicated a moderate reduction (27%) in compressive strength after one year. A visual examination of the immersed specimens showed that aquatic organisms covered most of the FG based samples surface, which indicated that these organisms are attracted to the proposed material. A small artificial reef structure made of a FG based blend was built and placed underwater at a site in Grand Isle, LA and investigated for stability and settlement for nine months. Monitoring of the structure over the immersion period indicated that settlement due to the structure was stable. A preliminary cost analysis was performed to compare the cost of artificial reefs constructed with the FG based blend, crushed limestone, or crushed recycled concrete. The results of this study suggest that the proposed FG based blend is a promising environment friendly material for artificial reef construction, which can provide significant economic advantages when compared to other materials commonly used in coastal development projects. Section three comments the limitations of empirical findings and CSR. 2. Impacts on Financial Performance 2.1 Cost Companies committed to CSR are expected to reduce operating costs. One of the key areas in CSR practices is paying attention to environmental issues such as energy saving and avoidance of excessive use of inputs. The promotion of resource efficiency including using less energy and water lower the utility costs. Nonetheless, a reduction in the use of packaging materials helps to reduce production cost. Brand equity has been viewed as the most crucial intangible assets of the company. Cornell and Shapiro (1987) suggested that the firms are able to establish reputation capital if they adopt CSR measures. Customers are more willing to spend on products that are produced by companies with good brand images. An adverse example has illustrated the importance of brand image with the scandal of Primark, a well known fast fashion clothing chains. The clothing retailer is found to break its code of conducts and employ illegal workers in poor working conditions. When BBC revealed the dishonored behavior, it cost Primark millions of dollars in information and advertising campaigns to restore consumer loyalty. It implies that a socially responsible firm that follows CSR practices can have less risk of negative rare events and thus avoid unnecessary cost. 2.2 Revenue A numerous empirical findings have revealed a positive correlation between ... • 15. Sociological Explanations For Gender Differences Outline and Assess Sociological Explanations for Gender Differences in Crime Rates Current statistics show that men commit 80% of all crime and women commit only 20%. However there are arguments to suggest that the statistics highlight an under representation of female criminality, and there are many sociological arguments to suggest that female criminals are treated more leniently. On the other hand, some sociologists believe women are treated more harshly when they commit certain types of crime. This essay aims to assess the reasons for gender differences in reported crime rates. Official crime rates are measured by crimes reported and recorded by the police and criminal justice system, and are collected by the Home Office. Frances Heidensohn (1975) believes that male criminality is 5 times higher than female criminality, which current data supports. However, Otto Pollak (1961) was the first sociologist to argue that crime rates for female crime were inaccurate. He believed that women were treated more leniently by the police and criminal justice system, which highlighted the under representation of female criminality in the official statistics. He argued that women were more likely to commit crimes such as petty theft, prostitution and criminal abortions, which were then likely to be treated more leniently. Pollak s theories have been widely criticised and may not be relevant today; indeed he failed to take into account the decriminalisation of abortion in many of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Phonetic Inventory of Saudi Arabic Many research papers have talked about measuring stop consonants voicing. There are many researchers put their attention on figuring out the difficulties of pronouncing voicing and voiceless consonants by L2 learners such as (Binturki, 2008; Flege and Port, 1981; Al Saidat, 2010). The difference between voicing and voiceless consonants is the voicing that occurs during the stop closure interval. The consonant is voiced when there is voicing, while if there is no voicing, the consonant is voiceless. However, Lisker and Abramason (1964) do not see that consonant stops (p, b, t, d, k, g) could be distinguished depending on a distinction feature like the vocal cords voicing. For that reason, they proposed a distinction feature between voiced and voiceless consonants which is Voice Onset Time (VOT). They defined VOT as the time interval between the burst that marks release of the stop closure and the onset of quasi periodicity that reflects laryngeal vibration (1964, 422). • 17. Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a farmer, second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor and reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits never change at any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes. The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the plot as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in the community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in when he says ...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131) Mr. Wills appears to show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing watermelons. As the narrator put it; Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest, biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait did not change during the story; never was it revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in his patch, or that he was importing prize melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is just a talented man. The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious examples of him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him yelling for a mile. (Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of anger and then regretting them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch! (Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes show that Mr. Wills has a tendency to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not change through the story, instead it is fully revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is it learned by experience, or inherited from prior generations? The human brain is a complex machine driven by numerous intangibles that influence our thinking process directly and indirectly. The endocrine system in the human body stores a chemical known as hormones. Hormones are released by endocrine glands into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body carrying messages. Both glands produce two distinct hormones, but produce differing amounts of each hormone. Masculine hormones such as androgens and testosterone are predominately produced by male testes. These hormones at high levels can be related to aggressive behavior regardless of sex, but high levels are most commonly found in males. High levels of feminine hormones or estrogen, most commonly found in females, have recently been linked to aggressive behavior as well. While high levels of estrogen in females and high levels of testosterone in males have been linked to aggressive behavior, normal levels of these hormones have been known to cause aggression as well. Although these hormones have been related to human behavior, scientists have concluded that these hormones alone do not dictate behavior (Morris Maisto, 2005). Adrenal glands, located near the kidneys, secrete several hormones that are activated by the nervous system. These hormones dictate the body s reaction to stressful situations. Each person secretes a different amount of hormones, therefore affecting behavior in stressful situations differently (Morris Maisto, 2005). • 28. Personal Narrative-Poudre For The River In Colorado Today will be different. Morning rain softens, and hope rises. I must capture the entire hazy brown form before it fades. Arms around me tighten, tease, but I break free. This is for him. He hands me a mug, and I turn away. He said the essay should be about her. Her name is Poudre, for the river in Colorado where we first met. The name refers to a cache of gunpowder hidden along its banks, but to us it just means clear water over stone. Each day begins with a ritual: She shakes her head and jingles her collar as I reach for the railing. Descending, I hear a clicking little dance below. Her breath is heavy and I open the front door. She leaps out into the garden, I tell her to stay with me today, but she is already gone. Out of sight, she is galloping down the lane. She is our heart: blood up, out of hand, out ahead. I walk on slowly, looking for the first pure light of morning. She waits for me there, and I check on the flowers. Soon, I tell her it is time to go. She turns, picks up the paper, and trots slowly now, back towards the house. I smile and sigh and follow her back. Through the front door, she heads straight for his waiting feet. She plops the paper down proudly and turns to me. Now it is time for breakfast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jeff stepped out of the car doubtfully on that first day. • 30. Importance Of Learning A Secondary Language I believe that learning a secondary language is necessary to get where you want to go in life. For most people that have jobs there is always going to be a customer or another co worker that speaks a different language than you. You should learn a different language for traveling purposes so if you want to go to a different country you will know the main language in that country. Learning a different language is good to know to make friends living in other places that know a different language than you. Knowing a secondary language is a graduation requirement and can even help you improve your test scores. The first reason you should learn different languages other than your first language is because, you may need to know it for your job. When you get a job there could be customers that may be speaking a different language and you will not know how to help them. There could be a person that is deaf and you will not be able to help them find what they are looking for and help them to your best ability. Don t you want to be the person that is able to help people speaking a different language? You do not want to end up in the situation where you need to look for a co working to help what the customer is trying to say to you or ask of you. You should learn another language to open up a world of job opportunities. For example, when I get my future job as a large animal vet my main secondary languages that I will need to know are spanish and especially since we live in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We had been training for a month now and the gruesome work had finally paid off. We were more than ready to march on the field and take the championship. We won our league division and if we won the next game we play then we were headed to the national championship. Our team had never won the championship and we really wanted to win it. In the locker room before the game our coach emphatically said, You boys play like it is the last game of your career. Nothing should stop you and when you touch the field I want you to feel like winners. You see that trophy there, that is our trophy and when we go out on the field we hold our heads high and we fight to win. We are winners and nothing in this world can stand between us from the trophy. We were jumping up and down trying to get our blood flowing and when the referees called us on the field. Beep. The whistle blows. Our coach pumped us up with a great motivational speech to make us play the hardest we could. We start shaky, however due to a couple of great saves by our goalkeeper we were still in the game. At half time it was tied. We stuffed ourselves with oranges before we ran on the field for the second half. Our team started off very well due to a great speech by our coach and we gained a monstrous two zero lead. The win looked inevitable, however, our team got way too confident and we let in two goals and before we knew it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As an undergraduate, pledging Theta at Phi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta has provided me with many opportunities to contribute to my community, especially through our philanthropy work for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Buffett is attributed with saying conventional diversification makes no sense for [a know something investor]. It is apt simply to hurt your results and increase your risk. Buffett s rationale is that investors should not buy shares of a stock unless they feel the company they are buying into will be around for a while. To make an assumption that a particular company will still be a functioning body in the future would require some knowledge of the company s financial situation and the industry in which it operates. Essentially, Buffett believes that people should only invest in companies with which they are familiar. Along these lines, one of his strongholds is that many people purchase stocks of companies in industries with which they are not familiar for the sake of diversification. Making a ...
