small country home with her grandmother. She has a simple life: walking with her cow and hanging

Creek Bridge , is in northern Alabama during the Civil War. The short story, A White Heron , takes

Clara and her sister Sally found out that the soldiers did not have basic medical supplies for their
wounds. She organized a way to get supplies to the front lines. Clara soon started going on the

National Disaster Medical System has nearly 9,800 individuals working rigorously towards the
success of emergency medical response, 8,000 of the 9,800 individuals are volunteers, while 1,800 are
medically proficient civilians. Volunteers help many victims by providing food, lodging, and clothing.
NDMS responding teams help prevent further casualties in the event of an emergency. In addition,
