The Impact Of Cuba On The Country Of The Rich Land And...
Environmental Cuba has taken many steps to protect the investment of the rich land and water
resources and the welcoming population, as they continue to offer an abundance of development
opportunities. Some environmental factors in the city of CaibariГ©n include: lack of water supply,
no sewer system, no drainage for floods, and pollution. It s highly critical that tourists are well
informed and educated on foreign communities and how to interact in an environmentin order to
sustain and preserve natural resources and ancestral sites. Daniel Whittle, senior director of the Cuba
program at the Environmental Defense Fund said that At the official level, environmental
protection is still a high priority, it s something [President RaГєl] Castro and his deputies talk a lot
about. (Williams, Casey. Cuba Has An Ambitious Plan To Protect Its Environment From Tourists.
The Huffington Post). Tourists have also expressed needs and wants of a clean environment and
tourismproducts that involve heritage, history and culture. Businesses are now focusing on
sustainable based services and resources for those incoming tourists. Tourism products of today are
being developed to match with the environment both natural and constructed.
Better stated in this quote from Moss Cass, We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we
borrow it from our children. () This quote speaks to the fact that society has a responsibility to

The Importance Of Part Four Important Principles In...
Part One The principle from part one that I really liked was don t criticize, condemn, or
complain. It could be applied to life when your boss or a fellow co worker comes up with an
idea they think is great when it might really not be the best idea. Rather than telling them the
idea was horrible and criticizing them for it, you could suggest changes to make it better. Part
Two The principle that stood out the most to me in part two was simply smile. Your expressions
are your best feature, the tell someone if your mad, happy, sad, etc. When you smile at someone,
they feel like you are happy to see them and they aren t a bother to you. Smiling can be applied in
any life situation, whether it be smiling at a job interview to seem happy and... Show more content

You should never just come out and tell someone they re wrong, it makes the person feel stupid
and insignificant. This principle can be applied to everyday life and in the workplace, when you
re talking to someone and you know you re wrong about something, tell them. When you know
someone is wrong, let them tell you they re wrong. Part Four The principle in part three that I
liked the most was praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be hearty in
your approbation and lavish in your praise. Everyone likes to be praised, it makes them feel
good about themselves. It can be applied in the office by the manager or supervisor letting an
employee know they did a good job on the task they were assigned, or just to keep them
motivated to finish the task or job at hand. Conclusion I thought the book How to Win Friends
Influence People by Dale Carnegie was a decent book. It wasn t my favorite book I ve read,
however, the many principles in the book were excellent. They can all still be applied to life in
today s day and age, even though the book was written in 1936. Part

Family Values In American Family
In 1840s, Asian American community began to be formed when a large number of Chinese
immigrants arrived in the United States as contract laborers. Immigration from Asian countries has
increased since 1970s. The two types of Asian immigrants coming to America at this time were
voluntarily immigrants and refugees. While Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese are immigrants who came
to the United Statesfor business purposes, Vietnamese, Laos, and Cambodian are refugees who tried
to escape their countries in the World War II.
The majority of Asian Americanfirst generation come from a strong tradition of extended and
kinship ties. Although these ties are disconnected during migration, they have been quickly
reconstructed to shape family patterns in the historical periods (Zhou 29). Contemporary Asian
immigrants from different countries of origin mostly come with their families. They also bring their
cultures and values in their home country to the United States. There are some common family
values in the Asian American family that are distinguishable, such as emphasis on the centrality of
the family, filial piety, respect for the elders, and reverence for tradition and education. While these
traditional values offer a strong moral basis sustaining the Asian American family, they have often
clashed with dominant American cultural values and have caused emotional pain and detrimental
consequences in the family and community (Zhou 30). Other than that, when the first wave of

College Is Not For College
Many students do not go to college because of the steep cost to attend. There a lot of students and
families that support this claim, with some experts adding that other socio economic factors also
contribute to this issue. Additionally, there are many that think that not everyone needs to go to
college. Either way, some students still struggle to pay for their collegeeducation. Early exposure
to college provides a practical solution to this problem. While ninth grade is typically viewed as a
good time to start thinking about college, it would be more beneficial to students if they started
before then in middle school. Students would receive information about financial aid and
admissions. They would be able to plan which classes to take and activities to join in high schoolin
order to obtain scholarships and admission. Completing these actions will increase their chances of
enrolling in college. Although some people argue that college is not necessary for every student, it
is still helpful for students to have a plan after high school. Introducing students to college in
middle school will improve college access.
One benefit of early college exposure is that students and parents will receive more information on
financial aid and scholarships. For someone who is not familiar with the process to get to college,
locating and applying for scholarships and financial aid can be confusing. Early exposure eliminates
confusion by making this information available sooner to give

Similarities Between Western Europe And Byzantium
Western Europe had many differences and similarities with the Byzantium and Islamic Empires.
Western Europe, Byzantium, and Islamic Empire all have had their ups and their downs. The
differences between Western Europe and the Byzantium Empire started with their government and
their way of ruling. The first main difference between the two were their rulers. The Byzantine
Empires ruler was an emperor, and they used a civil service system to rule their government. On the
other hand Western Europedid not have any centralized government until the middle ages. Western
Europe was divided into countries based on what language they spoke, while the Byzantium Empire

may have had many differences, but they also had many similarities. The Western Europeans got a
revival of learning from the Islamic Empires. The Muslims had libraries filled with works of
Greek writers and philosophers. They shared these works in libraries in Spain. This allowed
scholars to translate the work into Latin, so Western Europeans could understand it. These works
allowed Europeans to acquire a huge body of knowledge. They had more information on science

Marjory Stoneman Douglas Dedication to the Florida...
The Everglades; a treasured river
Marjory Stoneman Douglas (April 7, 1890 May 14, 1998) was an American journalist, writer and
environmentalist known for her staunch defense of the Florida Everglades against draining and
development. Moving to Miami as a young woman to work for The Miami Herald, Douglas
became a freelance writer, producing over a hundred short stories that were published in popular
magazines. Her most influential work was the book The Everglades: River of Grass (1947), which
redefined the popular conception of the Everglades as a treasured river instead of a worthless
swamp. Published the same year as the formal opening of Everglades National Park, the book was
a call to attention about the degrading quality of life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A concrete network of canals was designed to bring water from the lake area to surrounding
farmland in the dry season. Florida was becoming a booming area and more people came and more
acres of the Everglades were cleared for farms, ranches, housing, roads, and railways. And more
and more; the Everglades were dying (Miami Museum of Science, 1995).
Douglas was quickly drawn into the debate over the future of the Everglades. Many people,
including Florida s governor, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, were in favor of draining the
Everglades. But others, like Frank Stoneman, disagreed. Marjory s father, Frank Stoneman
supported the preservation of the Glades, an idea that made the developers furious. He wanted this
wilderness area to be left untouched. Her earliest notions about the Everglades came directly from
her father. She became convinced that the Glades should be preserved in a natural state. She joined
a committee to establish the area as a national park, which would give the Everglades the protection
of the federal government.
Finally there was a public outcry for change. Now that it was almost too late, wrote Marjory, men
began to realize that the water supply was never just a local problem. The Everglades were one
vast unified harmonious whole in which the old subtle balance which was destroyed needed to be
replaced or restored (Bryant pg 57, 1992). A new, scientific study of the region recommended

Sanity And Insanity
Mental illness according to Webster dictionary is any of a broad range of medical conditions that
are marked primarily by sufficient disorganization of personality, mind, or emotions to impair
normal psychological functioning . How do you diagnose mental illness? Well therein lies the
problem. The line between mental illnessand insanityand sanity is very thin. In One Flew Over the
Cuckoo s Nest, Ken Kesey depicts the complex line between insanity in a world that oppresses the
mentally ill through the use of characterization, literary devices, themes and motifs.
When R.P. McMurphy arrived at the ward, the whole floor has an immediate reaction especially
the staff in charge. Kesey utilizes characterization to allow the ward to be perceived as weak in
the eyes of the reader. When the current patients and atmosphere of the ward are compared to
McMurphy s appearance and persona, the ward looks very vulnerable and defenseless.
McMurphy, described as talking loudr n you d think he needed (Kesey 11) and [sounding big]
(Kesey 11), establishes the large presence and effect that McMurphy has and will have on the
ward. In contrast to McMurphy, the ward is described as pee stinkin mattresses (Kesey 9) and
mornings with cold mush (Kesey 9). The two opposing descriptions allows establishment of
authority of McMurphy over the other patients before he even actually meets them. Also in contrast
with McMurphy, the Nurse s description, while still powerful and strong, is more power

Friederich Nietzsche and His Philosophies Essay
Friederich Nietzsche and His Philosophies
Friederich Nietzsche was born in 1844 in the Prussian province of Saxony. He was the offspring of
a long line of clergymen including his father, who was the pastor of a Lutheran congregation. His
childhood was consumed with the haunting death of his father and, soon after, brother. After
enrolling in school, he suffered from intense, painful headaches and myopia which caused burning
sensations and blurred vision. This may have been syphilis and it may have been contracted from
his father who had shown similar symptoms. In 1858, he enrolled in the prestigious Pforte boarding
school. His illness continued to plague him, resulting in several pilgrimages to the sanitarium yet,

However, even Nietzsche s critics admit that his words hold an undeniable truth, as hard as it is to
accept. Perhaps this is why his work is timeless, and has survived 150 years in print. Christianity
God is Dead! announced Zarathustra (better known as Zoroaster), in Neitzsche s book, Thus Spoke
Zarathustra (1883 1885). Unlike many philosophers, Nietzsche never tried to prove or disprove
the existence of God, just that belief in God can create sickness; and to convince that highest
achievements in human life depend on elimination of God. Whether God existed had no relevance
in his goal. Proclamation of the death of God was a fundamental ingredient in the values Nietzsche
advocated. Nothing has done more than Christianity to entrench the morality of mediocrity in
human consciousness. Christian love extols qualities of weakness; it causes guilt. Charity is just
teaching hatred and revenge directed toward nobility. Belief in God is a tool to bring submission
to the individual of noble character. F. Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Nietzsche had an ideal
world in mind, with an ideal government and an ideal God: the Overman or Superman. These
Gods were a product of natural selection, or social Darwinism. He felt, very strongly, that any kind
of moral limitations upon man would only stand in the way of The Overman. The Will To Power,
his strongest teaching, meant that The Overman should and would do

A Description Of The Core Activities Within The Software...
A description of the core activities in the software development process 1.Requirements 2.Design
3.Implementation 4.Testing / verification 5.Documentation 6.Maintenance An explanation of the
distinction between systems analysis and systems design and a description of the activities
involved in each System development can generally be thought of having two major components:
systems analysis and systems design. In System Analysis more emphasis is given to understanding
the details of an existing system or a proposed one and then deciding whether the proposed system
is desirable or not and whether the existing system needs improvements. Thus, system analysis is
the process of investigating a system, identifying problems, and using the information to
recommend improvements to the system. System design is the process of planning a new business
system or one to replace or complement an existing system. Analysis specifies what the system
should do. Design states how to accomplish the objective. After the proposed system is analyzed
and designed, the actual implementation of the system occurs. After implementation, working
system is available and it requires timely maintenance. An explanation of the benefits of
information systems Information systems changed forever the way accounting tasks are
processed. The days of green paper pads are gone, and instead businesses have a centralized place

Breaking In A Glove Essay
I was five years old when I first put on a baseball glove. No, scratch that, I was five when I first
played baseball. From the time I could open my eyes and look at my dad, I was wearing orange and
black SF Giants gear. Once I had a handle on walking, I was learning to throw and catch. As soon I
was of age, my dad signed me up for T Ball and he gave me my first real glove. Not a cheap faux
leather/polyester mix glove, a genuine, leather glove. I loved that glove, and I held onto it for
years. During those years, I grew quite a bit and it was obvious my glove needed to grow too. My

But any I tried on felt foreign, especially if they were already broken in. My dad and uncle both
agree, concluding that the gloves that were broken in had trust from other people already.
Breaking in a glove is a recurring rite of passage in a player s career. It s during this time where he
becomes acquainted with the glove, which becomes customized to the player. It is impossible to
break in a glove the same way as someone else. The shape of and way we move our catching hand,
how we sleep on it, what kind of practice balls we take, everything breaks down the leather and
molds it to fit its player. It becomes less of an extraneous object and more of a part of him.
In this sense, a player s glove can easily be seen as an extension of himself. When my glove tore,
my confidence in myself started to tear. When I can t trust part of me, I can t trust the rest of me.
Players don t like borrowing gloves because they aren t a part of them. It belongs to someone else
and will for years, both in the past and future. Gloves are not simply leather stitched together to
protect a hand. They are there to enhance the hand on which they are placed. But they can augment

Art Works Of Claude Monet

mother, Elizabeth, yelling, Elijah wake up! It s time for you to get out of bed and get ready for

and go to school. I am currently attending an art school Le Havre, located in Le Havre, Normandy,
where I hope to develop my art skills and become a well known artist. There, I met a good friend of
mine, Claude Monet, who is very passionate about art. We are very different when it comes to

Adam Smith s Wealth of Nations Essay
The pivotal second chapter of Adam Smith s Wealth of Nations, quot;Of the Principle which gives
occasion to the Division of Labour, quot; opens with the oft cited claim that the foundation of
modern political economy is the human quot;propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for
another. quot;1 This formulationplays both an analytical and normative role. It offers an
anthropological microfoundation for Smith s understanding of how modern commercial societies
function as social organizations, which, in turn, provide a venue for the expression and operation of
these human proclivities. Together with the equally famous concept of the invisible hand, this
sentence defines the central axis of a new scienceof political economy... Show more content on

Additionally, with this emphasis on spontaneous coordination, Smith pointed to the possibility of a
social order in which people live in harmony together with a minimum need of a central, coercive
apparatus. He captured the central intuition of classical economists according to which modern
commercial society, notwithstanding its conflicts, obeys a kind of pre established order, and enjoys
the advantage of a mechanism, the market, which maintains equilibria by continually adjusting
competing interests.
Over time, this powerful theoretical proposition has become a legitimating cornerstone for the
robust defense of market capitalism, a particular ensemble of political institutions, and a specific
line of justification for liberal ideas and values. Though manifestly plausible as an accurate reading
of Smith when Wealth of Nations is read on its own, even on these terms, this interpretation, is
limited and partial. Astonishingly, and disappointingly, most readers of Wealth of Nations fail to
attend the very next sentence that follows Smith s seemingly transhistorical, objectivist theory of
human dispositions, mindful of Mandeville s classical representation of human egoism. Smith
immediately probed more deeply by asking quot;Whether this propensity be one of those original
principles in human nature of which no further account can be given; or whether, as

Write An Argumentative Essay On Flibanserin
Female Viagra May Get Approved by FDA This Week Flibanserin, a drug designed to increase
libido in women also known as female Viagra , could be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration this week. FDA approval of the female Viagra would be unprecedented, as no
such drug has ever been approved before. WHAT IS FLIBANSERIN? Unlike Viagra, flibanserin
aims to raise libido by targeting the female brain s pleasure center instead of the genitals.
Proponents of the cite the lack of a female equivalent to Viagra. Unlike men, there is no drug on
the market to combat persistent low sexual desire in women, a condition also known as
hypoactive sexual disorder (HSDD). But critics of flibanserin say that the negative side effects

And aside from these side effects, opponents of the drug say that the cause of HSDD can be
psychological, not physical. For these reasons, flibanserin was rejected by the FDA drug safety
advisory committee in 2010 and 2013. Despite these concerns, it is likely that flibanserin will
receive FDA approval this week. The drug was passed in June (with the condition that the
manufacturer take measures to limit safety risks) by the drug safety advisory panel, which it
usually follows in approval. As Liz Szabo of USA Today reported, flibanserin manufacturer
Sprout Pharmaceuticals has supported a large public relations campaign to get the the pill passed.

Persuasive Advertising Strategy
An advertisement is usually thought of as promotion and generally the main goal is to generate
money, however, that is not always the case. There are many genres of advertisement such as
marketing, persuasion, or encouragement in which all have similar, yet different, goals and
purposes. A marketing advertisement main motive is to sell a product. This can be achieved
through many common advertising techniques such as claims, repetition, association,
bandwagon, or promotion, to name a few. Persuasion and encouragement advertisement may
also be projected by these techniques as well, but there may be a different goal. Persuasive
advertising could also tie into marketing as well being that some ads try to sway consumers into
buying their company s product. Encouragement and persuasive ads may also go hand and hand
with each other as well. These types of ads are usually less about money and more about getting
a point across to the people. Well known examples of this is a Click it or Ticket it commercial or
an advertisement telling people to stop smoking. Every company has a specific goal in mind and
BMW is a Germany based company that specializes in the production of automobiles and
motorcycles. Typically, the consumers are more likely of an upper class rather than a lower
class.BMW s are usually purchased by those that are middle aged or older those who are older in
age. In the past, BMW produced a particular commercial or ad where the subject was drunk driving.

Examples Of Savage In Syria
Since the 1600 s philosophers have frequently debated whether or not man in his natural state is
civil or savage. Philosophers theorised that in a scenario called the state of nature a human s true
state would become apparent. The state of nature is defined by famous philosophers Hobbes and
Locke as the state men are (or would be) in living together without effective government
(Simmons 450). While the majority of the modern world appears to be civil there is one example
of the state of nature in which the savage nature of man can be seen clearly, Syria. Although Syria
does have a government, the government is not currently operating effectively and is not fulfilling
its responsibility to protect its citizens using civil laws. What started... Show more content on

The Syrian regime on countless occasions has displayed that humans act out of perceived self
interest as they have mercilessly attacked civilians for insignificant gains. While at war with the
Syrian regime the rebels have acted just as savage. After entering the state of nature as defined by
John Locke and Thomas Hobbes the Syrian rebels have slowly turned from civilians fighting for
peace, to monsters killing those they are supposedly fighting for. Furthermore, the Islamic State has
exemplified the brutal and savage nature of mankind as they have committed atrocities ranging
from sexual enslavement to massacres of villages for no reason other than for personal satisfaction.
Due to the fact Syria is a state of nature, the actions of the Syrian regime, the Syrian rebels, and the

Comparing Three Types Of Managers
2. Katzenbach and Kahn (2010) compare three types of managers in regard to motivation and
pride building (p. 79). This is similar to the Blake and Mouton Managerial Grid. What insights
from these categories of managers and the Grid can you use to motivate performance in yourself
and others? Katzenbach and Khan believe there are three categories of manager: a good
manager, a people person and a pride builder. A good manager is fair and rational working
toward equality and efficiency. They focus on the development of individuals with potential
using formal development plans. A people person is typically hands on and explains the
reasoning behind their decision. This individual is easy to work with and uses their connections
to create development opportunities for their favorites. A pride builder encourages staff to be
actively involved in problem solving and empowers staff to pursue ideas. They strive to get the
personal best effort from every team member and are often a role model for expected behaviors
(2010). A good manager is focused on meeting metrics and mastering the processes often using a
standardized approach for all employees. A people person creates a happy and social environment
providing perks such as lunch and snacks. A pride builder realizes different approaches are needed
for different individuals and tailors the motivation and pride building to the individual or specific
groups. A pride builder is often called a master motivator as they understand the

Sex Segregation in the Workplace Essay
Why are most brain surgeons and CEO s male? Why are most secretaries and nurses female? Why
not female surgeons and male nurses? These are simple and frequent questions that can be
answered by most Sociologist and Theorists. Sociologists and Theorists equate this type of job
inequality phenomenon with occupational sexsegregation. Sex segregation in the workplace is one
of the most visible signs of inequality in the labor market. In almost every work setting, it is rare to
see men and women working at the same job. When they do, they usually perform different tasks,
with unequal levels of responsibility and authority. Even when job tasks are virtually identical, it is
not uncommon to find men and women allocated to distinct job... Show more content on

Employers try to maximize profits by maximizing productivity and minimizing costs to the extent
possible, but because of competition and efficient labor markets, employers pay workers their
marginal product. So, this theory explains why more males than females are surgeons; because they
seem to have better opportunities for education and they tend to lack certain obligations that
females have. Whereas many women find it difficult to find the time to obtain this education
because of their certain obligations life hands them, for example taking care of a family and raising
children.
When explaining occupational sex segregation by sex, researchers usually distinguish labor
supply and labor demand factors. Factors related to labor supply generally focus on why women
prefer certain types of occupation for example, women may prefer those with flexible hours in
order to allow time for child care, and may also prefer occupations which are relatively easy to
interrupt for a period of time to bear or rear children. Explanations related to labor demand focus on
why employers generally prefer to hire women or men for particular occupations and why women
and men have different opportunities for promotion and career development within firms.
Institutional and labor market segmentation theories are another explanation for why

at that lower end of the spectrum 2.8bn people live on less than $2 per day, and 1.1bn live in

the meteoric rise of China into the world trade network, along with Mexico and India, this kind

group and this can lead to a detrimental gang mentality. In the third scene Jared reveals to his
friend Rachel why he is so loyal to his good friend Ricko. He s been my mate since forever... he
says, with the use of emotive dialogue and colloquial language. The authenticity conveyed
through the emotive and colloquial language shows the seemingly positive impact that Ricko
has had on Jared. After his Dad split he didn t have a male role model and was what he called a

I believe that modern expansionist and destructive imperialism is a logical consequence of the rise
of nationalism and that the liberation of conquered peoples was its unavoidable consequence. In
some regions, Europeans exerted complete political authority, in other areas, spheres of influence
were established, and leaving the existing governments as puppets, occasionally only economic
influence was exerted. Imperialism in Africa created colonies designed to serve the needs of the
colonial powers. Colonial boundaries often exacerbated long standing ethnic rivalries. The
consequences of expansionist nationalism were destructive and also predictable. Competition
between the expanding modern empires, rooted in expansionist nationalism, led to inter state wars,
starting overseas in the peripheral territories where these states sought to expand their rule, and it
ended, during the 20th century, in gigantic inter state wars at the centre. World Wars I and II
brought the defeat of Germany and Italy in comparison with France, England, America and Russia,
but all of Europe suffered from war devastation. In this period, the true off springs of nationalism
who elevated this school to its highest position and gave it its severest form were

Peptic Ulcer Disease ( Peptic )
Peptic Ulcer Disease
Ever wonder how many diseases there are in the world? Well, there are tons. Some disease are
more harmful than others. With all the disease it is hard to choose which one is the best to learn.
One disease that is very fascinating is Peptic Ulcer Disease. A Peptic Ulcer is a sore on the lining
of the stomach or duodenum caused by Helicobacter pylori, which is a spiral shaped bacterium that
is found in the gastric mucous layer of the stomach, or NSAIDs. There is multiple things to learn
about a Peptic Ulcer: the history of one, what causes it, who can mostly get it, diagnosis, treatments,
and prevention.
In the early 20th century ulcers were believed to be caused my dietary and stress factors. If
someone was diagnosed with an ulcer they were hospitalized and put on a bland food diet. Then
later on in the 20th century gastric acid was blamed for causing ulcers. So then treatment changed
to antacids and medication that stopped gastric acid. In 1982 Robin Warren and Barry Marshall
identified that Helicobacter pylori and ulcers were connected to each other. People did not accept
their findings. People still believed it was stress, diet, or gastric acid that caused the ulcers. Many

There are few objects in the film that create sound that the actors can also hear but the ones that
do occur, play an important role. The audience and actors are able to hear car motors and trains
moving as the setting changes. But one of the most crucial sound effects is the gun shot. Dr.
Murchison shows Dr. Peterson the murder weapon and when she leaves his office, he turns the
gun to himself and shoots it. There is a flash of red color as the gun shot is heard, that is the only
color in the entire film. That moment in the movie is huge because it is one of the only sounds that

Summary Of The Poem Mirror By Sylvia Plath
The poem Mirror, by Sylvia Plath, was written in 1961. The poem takes place during a time when
women s reflections were changing quickly, and women s movement was becoming more
important. According to Kristine Tucker in The Overall Meaning of the Poem Mirror, she states,
The Mirror was written by SylviaPlath in 1961 but wasn t published until 1971, eight years after
her death by suicide. Therefore, presuming the lady in the mirror is Plath, readers assume she
wrote the poem referring to her personal life and her struggle with depression due to her appearance.
Sylvia Plath s poem Mirror is about a woman who gets older as the mirror watches her. At first, the
mirror is silver and exact (1). The mirror does not judge; however, it swallows what it sees and
reflects that image back (2). The mirror is also not cruel, only truthful (4), and considers itself a
four cornered eye of a god (5). Therefore, the mirror sees everything for what it is, and does not
lie. The mirror looks across the empty room most of the time (6) and meditates on the pink
speckled wall across from it (7). The mirror is attached to the wall, and has looked at that wall
for so long, that the wall is thought to be part of my heart (8). The darkness in the room and the
people who consider the mirror are the faces and darkness that separate the woman and the mirror
(9). In the next stanza, the mirror is now portraying itself as a lake (10). A woman is looking into
the lake (10), and she is

The Fruit Fly By Drosophila Melanogaster
Drosophila melanogaster, often referred to as the fruit fly, is an interesting and dynamic insect
that provides humanity with important information in the study of genetics. The biological
community is extremely devoted to acquiring more information about the genetic process in
order to improve the health and existence of humans. The fruit fly may seem like an insignificant
specimen; however, it has a surprising number of parallels to the human genome. Humans have
46 chromosomes in which 23 are gametes involved in the reproduction process. Although, the
fruit fly has only 4 chromosomes they behave very similarly to humans. This insight has led to
new research and development that is continuously explored by scientists all over the globe. The
fruit fly has an optimal life cycle which makes it convenient and efficient when studying its
genetic information. A fruit fly incurs a life cycle that last approximately one and a half to two
weeks. Its life cycle manifests in four phases respectively: egg, larva, pupal, and adult stage. Due
to the short amount of time it takes a fruit fly to be reproduced and developed, a plethora of
information can be learned in a very short period of time (Lewis 1998). Other benefits of using
fruit flies are due to: low cost, production in large numbers, and easy production (Lewis 1998). In
laboratory, a dihybrid cross was performed in order to determine the traits exhibited by the F2
generation. Fruit flies have a few physical

Windshield Essay
What To Do About A Chip In Your Windshield
If you re driving down the road and a big truck flings road debris against your windshield and
damages it, you re faced with the decision of whether to drive with the damage or call for
roadside repairs. Each situation is different, but generally, it isn t safe to drive with a damaged
windshield, and it may even be against the law in your jurisdiction. Fortunately, you can call a
mobile windshield repair truck to come to your location, whether it is by the road, at your work, or
at home. Here is some information about how the repair process works.
Evaluation Of The Damage
The first decision the glass contractor has to make is whether to repair or replace the
windshield. Even if the glass has to be replaced, it can usually be done at a mobile location. One
thing that determines if the glass can be repaired is the location of the chip. If it is directly in
front of your line of vision as you drive, the contractor may opt to replace the glass, ... Show more

Be sure to check your coverage before you have the work done so you know if you have to pay out
of pocket or if the contractor can bill your insurance company. If your windshield has to be
replaced, there is a better chance your car insurance will kick in so you can have the work done at
no cost to you.
Whether your insurance company pays for the repairs or not, you don t want to put off fixing the
glass. A sudden temperature change or hitting a bump in the road could cause the chip to send
out cracks that lead to further damage. When the glass is cracked, it isn t stable. That means you
aren t protected as well in case of an accident. Plus, if the damage spreads into your line of sight, it
could pose a danger when you re driving down the road. Make it a priority to repair your damaged
windshield as soon as you can so you stay safe when you

Some environmental factors in the city of CaibariГ©n include: lack of water supply, no sewer system, no drainage for floods, and pollution. It s highly critical that tourists are well informed and educated on foreign communities and how to interact in an environmentin order to sustain and preserve natural resources and ancestral sites. It could be applied to life when your boss or a fellow co worker comes up with an idea they think is great when it might really not be the best idea. Rather than telling them the idea was horrible and criticizing them for it, you could suggest changes to make it better. Part Two The principle that stood out the most to me in part two was simply smile. Your expressions are your best feature, the tell someone if your mad, happy, sad, etc. When you smile at someone, they feel like you are happy to see them and they aren t a bother to you. Be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise. Everyone likes to be praised, it makes them feel good about themselves. It can be applied in the office by the manager or supervisor letting an employee know they did a good job on the task they were assigned, or just to keep them motivated to finish the task or job at hand. Conclusion I thought the book How to Win Friends Influence People by Dale Carnegie was a decent book. It wasn t my favorite book I ve read, however, the many principles in the book were excellent. There are some common family values in the Asian American family that are distinguishable, such as emphasis on the centrality of the family, filial piety, respect for the elders, and reverence for tradition and education. Florida was becoming a booming area and more people came and more acres of the Everglades were cleared for farms, ranches, housing, roads, and railways. And more and more; the Everglades were dying (Miami Museum of Science, 1995). Douglas was quickly drawn into the debate over the future of the Everglades. Many people, including Florida s governor, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, were in favor of draining the Everglades. But others, like Frank Stoneman, disagreed. Marjory s father, Frank Stoneman supported the preservation of the Glades, an idea that made the developers furious. He wanted this wilderness area to be left untouched. Her earliest notions about the Everglades came directly from her father. She became convinced that the Glades should be preserved in a natural state. She joined a committee to establish the area as a national park, which would give the Everglades the protection of the federal government. Finally there was a public outcry for change. Now that it was almost too late, wrote Marjory, men began to realize that the water supply was never just a local problem. Sanity And Insanity Mental illness according to Webster dictionary is any of a broad range of medical conditions that are marked primarily by sufficient disorganization of personality, mind, or emotions to impair normal psychological functioning . How do you diagnose mental illness? Well therein lies the problem. The line between mental illnessand insanityand sanity is very thin. In One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, Ken Kesey depicts the complex line between insanity in a world that oppresses the mentally ill through the use of characterization, literary devices, themes and motifs. When R.P. McMurphy arrived at the ward, the whole floor has an immediate reaction especially the staff in charge. Kesey utilizes characterization to allow the ward to be perceived as weak in the eyes of the reader. When the current patients and atmosphere of the ward are compared to McMurphy s appearance and persona, the ward looks very vulnerable and defenseless. McMurphy, described as talking loudr n you d think he needed (Kesey 11) and [sounding big] (Kesey 11), establishes the large presence and effect that McMurphy has and will have on the ward. In contrast to McMurphy, the ward is described as pee stinkin mattresses (Kesey 9) and mornings with cold mush (Kesey 9). Unlike many philosophers, Nietzsche never tried to prove or disprove the existence of God, just that belief in God can create sickness; and to convince that highest achievements in human life depend on elimination of God. Whether God existed had no relevance in his goal. Proclamation of the death of God was a fundamental ingredient in the values Nietzsche advocated. Nothing has done more than Christianity to entrench the morality of mediocrity in human consciousness. Christian love extols qualities of weakness; it causes guilt. Adam Smith s Wealth of Nations Essay The pivotal second chapter of Adam Smith s Wealth of Nations, quot;Of the Principle which gives occasion to the Division of Labour, quot; opens with the oft cited claim that the foundation of modern political economy is the human quot;propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for another. quot;1 This formulationplays both an analytical and normative role. It offers an anthropological microfoundation for Smith s understanding of how modern commercial societies function as social organizations, which, in turn, provide a venue for the expression and operation of these human proclivities. Together with the equally famous concept of the invisible hand, this sentence defines the central axis of a new scienceof political economy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, with this emphasis on spontaneous coordination, Smith pointed to the possibility of a social order in which people live in harmony together with a minimum need of a central, coercive apparatus. He captured the central intuition of classical economists according to which modern commercial society, notwithstanding its conflicts, obeys a kind of pre established order, and enjoys the advantage of a mechanism, the market, which maintains equilibria by continually adjusting competing interests. Over time, this powerful theoretical proposition has become a legitimating cornerstone for the robust defense of market capitalism, a particular ensemble of political institutions, and a specific line of justification for liberal ideas and values. Though manifestly plausible as an accurate reading of Smith when Wealth of Nations is read on its own, even on these terms, this interpretation, is limited and partial. Astonishingly, and disappointingly, most readers of Wealth of Nations fail to attend the very next sentence that follows Smith s seemingly transhistorical, objectivist theory of human dispositions, mindful of Mandeville s classical representation of human egoism. This can be achieved through many common advertising techniques such as claims, repetition, association, bandwagon, or promotion, to name a few. Persuasion and encouragement advertisement may also be projected by these techniques as well, but there may be a different goal. Persuasive advertising could also tie into marketing as well being that some ads try to sway consumers into buying their company s product. Encouragement and persuasive ads may also go hand and hand with each other as well. These types of ads are usually less about money and more about getting a point across to the people. Well known examples of this is a Click it or Ticket it commercial or an advertisement telling people to stop smoking. • 26. Examples Of Savage In Syria Since the 1600 s philosophers have frequently debated whether or not man in his natural state is civil or savage. Philosophers theorised that in a scenario called the state of nature a human s true state would become apparent. The state of nature is defined by famous philosophers Hobbes and Locke as the state men are (or would be) in living together without effective government (Simmons 450). While the majority of the modern world appears to be civil there is one example of the state of nature in which the savage nature of man can be seen clearly, Syria. Although Syria does have a government, the government is not currently operating effectively and is not fulfilling its responsibility to protect its citizens using civil laws. What started... Furthermore, the Islamic State has exemplified the brutal and savage nature of mankind as they have committed atrocities ranging from sexual enslavement to massacres of villages for no reason other than for personal satisfaction. • 27. Comparing Three Types Of Managers 2. Katzenbach and Kahn (2010) compare three types of managers in regard to motivation and pride building (p. 79). This is similar to the Blake and Mouton Managerial Grid. What insights from these categories of managers and the Grid can you use to motivate performance in yourself and others? Katzenbach and Khan believe there are three categories of manager: a good manager, a people person and a pride builder. A good manager is fair and rational working toward equality and efficiency. They focus on the development of individuals with potential using formal development plans. A people person is typically hands on and explains the reasoning behind their decision. This individual is easy to work with and uses their connections to create development opportunities for their favorites. A pride builder encourages staff to be actively involved in problem solving and empowers staff to pursue ideas. They strive to get the personal best effort from every team member and are often a role model for expected behaviors (2010). A good manager is focused on meeting metrics and mastering the processes often using a standardized approach for all employees. A people person creates a happy and social environment providing perks such as lunch and snacks. A pride builder realizes different approaches are needed for different individuals and tailors the motivation and pride building to the individual or specific groups. These are simple and frequent questions that can be answered by most Sociologist and Theorists. Sociologists and Theorists equate this type of job inequality phenomenon with occupational sexsegregation. Sex segregation in the workplace is one of the most visible signs of inequality in the labor market. In almost every work setting, it is rare to see men and women working at the same job. When they do, they usually perform different tasks, with unequal levels of responsibility and authority. Even when job tasks are virtually identical, it is not uncommon to find men and women allocated to distinct job... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Employers try to maximize profits by maximizing productivity and minimizing costs to the extent possible, but because of competition and efficient labor markets, employers pay workers their marginal product. So, this theory explains why more males than females are surgeons; because they seem to have better opportunities for education and they tend to lack certain obligations that females have. Whereas many women find it difficult to find the time to obtain this education because of their certain obligations life hands them, for example taking care of a family and raising children. When explaining occupational sex segregation by sex, researchers usually distinguish labor supply and labor demand factors. Factors related to labor supply generally focus on why women prefer certain types of occupation for example, women may prefer those with flexible hours in order to allow time for child care, and may also prefer occupations which are relatively easy to interrupt for a period of time to bear or rear children. Explanations related to labor demand focus on why employers generally prefer to hire women or men for particular occupations and why women and men have different opportunities for promotion and career development within firms. Imperialism in Africa created colonies designed to serve the needs of the colonial powers. Colonial boundaries often exacerbated long standing ethnic rivalries. The consequences of expansionist nationalism were destructive and also predictable. Competition between the expanding modern empires, rooted in expansionist nationalism, led to inter state wars, starting overseas in the peripheral territories where these states sought to expand their rule, and it ended, during the 20th century, in gigantic inter state wars at the centre. The biological community is extremely devoted to acquiring more information about the genetic process in order to improve the health and existence of humans. The fruit fly may seem like an insignificant specimen; however, it has a surprising number of parallels to the human genome. Humans have 46 chromosomes in which 23 are gametes involved in the reproduction process. Although, the fruit fly has only 4 chromosomes they behave very similarly to humans. This insight has led to new research and development that is continuously explored by scientists all over the globe. The fruit fly has an optimal life cycle which makes it convenient and efficient when studying its genetic information. A fruit fly incurs a life cycle that last approximately one and a half to two weeks. Its life cycle manifests in four phases respectively: egg, larva, pupal, and adult stage. Due to the short amount of time it takes a fruit fly to be reproduced and developed, a plethora of information can be learned in a very short period of time (Lewis 1998). Other benefits of using fruit flies are due to: low cost, production in large numbers, and easy production (Lewis 1998). In laboratory, a dihybrid cross was performed in order to determine the traits exhibited by the F2 generation. Fruit flies have a few physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
