producing water and oxygen. Using an O2 sensor to measure how much additional
oxygen is added into a sealed Nalgene bottle, we could determine the enzymes
effectiveness. Three variations of temperature were tested: cold, hot and room
temperature. This was done by taking test tubes with the three different samples and
placing them in a Nalgene Bottle. It was determined that the enzyme is most effective
when at room temperature although still functions when it is chilled. The heated
sample was drastically less effective. The pH was tested by adding acid (HCl), base

A Heartbreaking Genius Book Report
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius is the memoir of Dave Eggers. It
specifically deals with the passing of his parents (within a very short time of one
another) and his responsibilities dealing with raising his little brother. His overall
style in this book is VERY casual. He is the epitome of a writer who writes the way
he speaks . The novelis more like an extended internal monologue with himself rather
than a story. I wouldn t say this novel has the most incredible plot sequence but it
does do a praiseworthy job in carry the reader through the mind of a troubled young
man.
This is passage (and there is much more to it) is one of the reasons why I love
Eggers so much. He uses the mode of an interview to insert ideas and stories into
his memoir that didn t necessarily have a natural place. At first, he explains that he
has become a finalist for MTV s Real World and he has made it to the last interview
round. He must sit down with an MTV exec for an interview. However, as soon as
the interview starts, I, as a reader, have my suspicions. The interviewer doesn t ask
any questions and instead Egger s just launches into stories about his childhood. The
reader is left wondering how all of these stories fit into an interview for The Real

He breaks through the fourth wall and tells the reader that. He tells us that it s not

is doing. The interviewer is no longer seen as important and the storyline of Egger s
being a potential cast member of The Real World no longer seems important either.

and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the leg. Because the knee

Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly to these condlyes are the medial and lateral

Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the

On the post anesthesia care unit at Miami Children s Hospital, students and nurses
alike witnessed a harmonious exemplification of the six competencies of Quality
and Safety Education for Nurses, more commonly known as QSEN. The post
anesthesia care unit, PACU, was off to a slow start just before teamwork between
the preoperative unit, also called PREOP, the operating room, and PACU were put to
the test. A 4 year old, already extubated, female patient had come to the unit from the
operating room, more commonly referred to as the OR. The OR nurse proceeded to
inform the receiving PACU nurse that the patient just had an arterial line placed in the
femoral artery in order to later undergo apheresis for cancer treatment. Upon
performing an assessment, the nurse noticed that the patient s pressure dressing was
saturated with blood due to a hemorrhage. A team consisting of PACU nurses, the
anesthesiologist, the OR nurse and students rushed to the bedside to assist in
restraining the squirming patient in order to keep her flat and still. Ultimately, the
dressing was replaced a total of four times before the hemorrhage ceased, the patient
received one unit of packed red blood cells, and had a new intravenous line, or IV,
started because the previous site had developed a reaction to the Demorol

not be provided by private sector. These essential public services provided by the
