Essay On Class Teacher
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay On Class Teacher" can be a challenging task that requires
careful consideration and thoughtful analysis. The difficulty lies not only in crafting a well-
structured and coherent piece but also in capturing the essence of the class teacher's role and
significance. It involves delving into personal experiences, observations, and perhaps even
conducting interviews to gather relevant information.
One of the challenges is striking the right balance between providing a comprehensive overview
of the class teacher's responsibilities and creating a narrative that engages the reader. It's crucial
to avoid a mere enumeration of duties and instead focus on weaving a story that highlights the
teacher's impact on students' lives. This requires a nuanced approach to language and a keen
understanding of the nuances of the teaching profession.
Additionally, the essay should go beyond superficial observations and delve into the deeper
qualities that make a class teacher exceptional. Exploring the teacher's teaching style,
interpersonal skills, and ability to inspire and motivate students adds layers of complexity to the
writing process. This requires careful thought and reflection to convey the significance of these
qualities effectively.
Furthermore, maintaining a clear and logical flow throughout the essay is paramount.
Transitioning seamlessly between different aspects of the class teacher's role while keeping the
reader engaged requires meticulous planning and organization. The writer must ensure that each
paragraph contributes cohesively to the overall theme and reinforces the central message.

introduction
The advent of the Atomic or Space Age has focused attention on the specific approach
to business decision making. In no field of management has this been more
pronounced than in the field of marketing. Following naturally from the more
advanced technologically progress and higher standard of living in Canada, the
United States and other developed economies, scientific marketing has made greater
strides in North America than if has anywhere else in the world.
The changes have been swift and far reaching. The dynamic characteristics of the
North American economy have been fully demonstrated in what has been aptly
described as a marketing revolution , equaling in importance the industrial revolution

AN OVERVIEW OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR
Dr. Iheanyi C. Achuma: When we look into the market place, it is not always easy
to tell what is happening, let alone why. It is easy for consumer to get lost among all
the complex inter relations of the market.
As the leisure time becomes more important, the society getting more dynamic and
unpredictable, attitude towards work, goods and services change, the word
consumption itself is being reinterpreted. It is enough to see chills running up and
down the procedures of goods and services. The shock waves that originate with
product failures or dissatisfied consumers is ill wind that does nobody any good. The
effects of such shock waves are bound to radiate throughout the entire economy and
society.
The question then is can t this situation be avoided or controlled? The answer is fairly
simple but economically important. Consumption is a fundamental part of every
economic and social system and changes in consumer behavior have varying
implications for the whole society. Consumption patterns reflect the personality of the
individual. Fundamental institutions are not left out because a great deal of
consumption takes place through the family. Consumption and society are related in
some other ways too. Consumption is in part culturally determined and thus can be
held up as a mirror of society. The things
Essay on Google s Organizational Culture and Success
Google s Organizational Culture and Success
In his book Organizational Culture and Leadership, Schein defines the culture as: The
climate and practices that organizations develop around their handling of people, or
to the espoused values and credo of an organization .
We can analyze Google s organizational culturethought Ouchi s framework. Ouchi
studied three different company s culture and saw that the differences between those

There aren t any managerial hierarchies or management structure, which gives the
employees complete freedom. Even thought employees can make their own
decision if something is wrong on a product to rectify it decisions are usually
occurring in groups and based on the principles of full information sharing. Plus, the
concern for people goes beyond the individual at work and extends to the individual
s interests, hobbies, beliefs etc.. We can see that especially during lunch at the
cafeteria. Nevertheless Google emphasis the team work goals over the personal ones.
Ouchi argues that the culture of the Type Z firms helps those to outperform typical
American firms. The main reason it that firms like Google systematically invests in
their people and operations over the long run and so obtain steady and significant
improvements in the long term performance!
We can also analyse the organizational culture and define it as an organic structure.
This type of structure is characterized by flexibility, empowerment and teamwork. It
emphases on the fact that workers are emotional beings. This structure defines well
Google s organization as it is non hierarchical and cross functional: there aren t any
barriers between the different departments. People are encouraged to get involved in
other activities then their own. Also the top management leaves their office door
open in order for workers to feel free to come and talk directly.
Symptoms And Treatment Of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
In the current world population there is a large increase in people diagnosed with
inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), lactose intolerance and/or a combination of
the two. Theories suggest that the delayed onset of lactose intolerance, in patients
who already have IBD s, may arise as secondary lactose intolerance but only as a
byproduct of the IBD. This begs the question of if the prevalence of an IBD
predisposes that same person to lactose intolerance and if so, what are the drivers
that allow this to happen? Inflammatory bowel diseases are categorized into two
subset categories, ulcerative colitis(UC) and Crohn s disease. IBD s are defined as a
chronic inflammationof all or part of a digestive tract. The inflammation takes place...

Those who are lactose intolerant also have diminishes levels of lactase, the small
intestinal enzyme responsible for the catalysis of lactose. Dietary supplementation of
the lactase enzyme has, in some cases, proven to rectify the symptoms of lactose
intolerance.
During infancy the vast majority of humans have the ability to digest and catabolize
lactose into glucose and galactose via the lactase enzyme. This catabolic capability is
vital for newborn mammals, given that their primary source of nutrition comes from
their mother s milk. During the weaning period, when children cease to use milk as a
primary source of nutrition, the production of the lactase enzyme severely
deteriorates and eventually leads to the inability to catabolize lactose. While this may
be the natural progression of the expression of the lactase enzyme, there remains a
large, predominantly western population that maintains a steady production of
lactase, those individuals are known as lactase persistent (Baumgart, et al.).
Lactase Persistence Causes: Lactase persistence has been strongly suggested to be a
function of genetic causes and its inheritance occurs in an autosomal recessive
manner. Individuals that exhibit the highest lactase activity are genotypically
homozygous recessive for lactase persistence; where as individuals who show lower
lactase activities are heterozygous or homozygous
Social Mobility Essay
As a child I remember hearing stories about a lost family fortune from my father s
side of the family. I never put a lot of stock into those stories, but evidently they
were true. My father s side was comprised of farmers for many generations. The
Owens family owned thousands of acres of land in Kentucky, on which they farmed
tobacco and raised horses and cattle. My father, Leland, blames his grandfather s
generation for whittling away the familys money. Even with the loss of prestige of
owning such an abundance of land, the family continued to farm. I suppose it is all
they knew. They became good, working class farmers and small business owners,
working on their modest sized farms. But they did own the land which separates them
from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another older brother Mike was the first to go to college. My father was only a
teen ager when his brothers went away from the farm life. That, paired with the
death of their father, Harlan, in 1975 when my dad was 16, became the death of the
farm, as well.
While many of his siblings have simply moved horizontally and continue to be
working class, as machinists and factory employees, other have progressed to the
middle class, as factory managers. My father and his older brother Mike have
vertically shifted into the upper middle class. After a BS in Computer Science and
numerous certifications in software and web development, my father is now a
Software Analyst for Eli Lilly and Co.
As my father s side was primarily farmers until his generation, my mother s side of
the family was comprised of primarily factory workers until her generation. Like
my father s family, Nancee s family was mostly working class, but there was a
tendency for them to become the working poor. Working in factories and on the
railways provided work for my Great Grandparents Bessie and Charles. But they
made a vertical shift downward to the working poor when Charles decided that he
would rather drink than work. Then Bessie began to do laundry and my
Grandmother, Ramona, had to get a job working in a shoe factory in the evenings
after school. Even
Our Belief Systems And Values
Life is full of mysteries. From childhood, people became curious of things that
surround them. Humans experience pain and pleasure through the senses.
However the environment plays a major cause of everyone s behaviors. When
people grow older, they become curious. They start asking questions such as;
where did we come from and why we are here? To help us understand these
questions better, we should first find who we are. For this reason, it is essential to
define our belief system and identify our current values to help us understand
ourselves better. A belief system is the essential elements that shaped our set of
values for which we base everything we do.
Religion has been around for thousands of years. Some people believed in many ...

All religions have their accepted dogma, or articles of belief, that follower must
accept without question. This can lead to inflexibility and intolerance in the face of
other beliefs (Brahm, 2005). For this reason, conflict can easily break out among
people of different beliefs. Historical events showed what happened to the Jewish
people in Germany during World War II. Because of their different beliefs, they
were sent to concentration camps. Another example is the genocide in Rwanda. In
just 100 days, following a government coup in early April, some 800,000 Rwandans
were ruthlessly murdered by their countrymen (Haynes, 2002). History reveled that
religion can be one of the greatest causes of conflict among people of different beliefs.
The world today is composed of many religions. Some shared something in
common but others have significant differences. I know my religion; however it is
imperative for me to know other people s religion to understand people behavior
better. It is very important to be knowledgeable about people s beliefs and attitudes
toward religion. If all people learned about other religions, they will understand more
about how religion ties into the world s events. As a business professional, knowing
other people s belief system helps us to communicate better to people of different
beliefs.
Regardless of how we carry out our lives throughout our daily existence, our values
are influenced by our belief system. We
Leadership in Remember the Titans Essay
Remember the Titans
In the movie Remember the Titans , there are many management concepts covered
throughout the movie and he is the agent in the movie. The players on the Titans
are the targets of the influence. Remember the Titans is the perfect movie for
Exam 3. It covers many topics that were on the exam, and this class has given me a
different way of looking at the movie. I have seen the movie many times, but I never
looked at it from a management perspective. It now makes sense to me to look at a
football team, or any other type of sports team, from a management point of view.
Coach Herman Boone, who is played by Denzel Washington, is a very influential
person. He is a perfect leader. While it cannot be found out for sure,... Show more

Their opponents do not score against them often in the movie.
In the movie, Coach Boone is a master motivator. He does an excellent job of
energizing his players, sustaining the motivation, directing the motivation to the
right players at the right time, and also knowing when to stop motivating. The
satisfaction progression hypothesis is also displayed in the movie. Coach Boone
knows that the small things, such as making the routine plays in the game, must be
done first before the main goal can be achieved, winning the game. He also has a
high expectancy of his team. He believes that the effort of his team will lead to
performance and that the performance will lead to results. He expects his team to
practice just as hard as they play in the game. Julius Campbell and Gary Bertier, the
two main characters on the team, are also excellent motivators. They get their
teammates pumped up before and during the game.
As with most sports teams, the Titans have an autocratic leadership style. Coach
Boone is the one and only person who makes the decisions, he is the main man in
charge. The style is productive, and the team wins games. Although he has assistant
coaches, such as Bill Yoast who is the defensive coordinator, all the decisions must
go through Coach Boone first. The democratic leadership style is not applicable on a
football team because that s why teams have coaches. The team does not make group
decisions. Coach Boone also uses Job Enlargement in Remember the

Standing with Standing Rock
Citizens of the U.S. must petition and call public officials to urge the Obama
administration to declare Standing Rock Indian Reservation a National Monument,
thereby halting the development of the Dakota Access Pipeline, to accomplish the
following priorities: prevent the contamination of a vital U.S. water source and its
surrounding ecosystems, stop the human rights violations and abuse at Standing
Rock, and avert the desecration of sacred native burial grounds. Stopping the pipeline
would additionally benefit the planet and all its inhabitants by assisting the transition

Another possible solution to the harmful consequences I ve outlined is organizing a
group of military veterans to camp at the reservation, and stand with the protesters in
defiance of the construction. This act by a group of national heroes would garner
both worldwide attention, and political support. Over 2,000 veterans are already
organized and poised to arrive at the several encampments, and historic and symbolic
act of reverence to the Sioux Nation is unprecedented. Perhaps this act in conjunction
with the National Monument Status would have the most impact, and could give so
much press to the issue of the pipeline that the project could be halted
My Interest Towards Family Medicine
My interest towards family medicine began during my early childhood years. I
grew up in a small and developing city called Salalah, Oman where health care
resources were sparse. Back in 1990 s, immigrants from low income and middle
class families could not afford health care. My mother, a nurse, and her friend, a
primary care physician, were considered the healers of our neighborhood. Families
and neighbors, who were sick, wounded, or in need of medical advice, came to them
for help. I grew up watching them become the de facto healthcare resources of our
neighborhood. This inspired me to venture into the field of medicine.
After moving to New York, I was determined to take advantage of the opportunities I
had. While volunteering at a nursing home through church, I met several family
physicians and internists. I was impressed by their professionalism while interacting
with patients. All patients were treated with the same delicate care, despite their array
of debilitated statuses. Poor hygiene did not distract the physician, but rather it urged
them to provide medical care to the best of their ability. The patients felt this and their
immense gratitude was palpable. I realized how imperative it was for any physician to
value their character, attitude, and skill. My experiences inspired me to continue
volunteering at nursing homes and church events, where I could give a helping hand
to those in need. In turn, I developed a compassionate, comforting, and respectful
attitude.
To Kill A Mockingbird Social Justice
To Kill a Mockingbird essay Halen Baltus
When I hear the words social justice, I think of justice over a certain amount of
society. The real meaning of social justice is Justice in terms of the distribution of
wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. Social justice fits in with To
Kill A Mockingbird because Atticus is defending Tom Robinson in front of many
people and a judge. This goes with social justice because a white man is helping a
black man even though he feels they will not win. It states in Central America
Turmoil my be Cause of Child Migrant Surge that President Obama is responsible for
this (Johnson). To me this fits social justicebecause they are blaming a black man
for bad things that are happening when they secretly know it isn t just his fault. The
line from the newsela article also has prejudice in it because it is making Obama feel

We overcome them by thinking positive thoughts and helping others stay positive.
In To Kill A Mockingbird, it states, nigger lover is just one of those terms that don t
mean anything like snot nose. It s hard to explain ignorant, trashy people use it
when they think somebody s favoring Negroes over and above themselves. It s
slipped into usage with some people like ourselves, when they want a common,
ugly term to label somebody (Lee 144). This has to do with prejudice because Scout
is speaking her opinion about nigger lover. Her opinion may not fit other people s
perspectives, but she has the power to say what she wants, which isn t fair to other
12 Angry Men Bias
The play 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose takes place in 1957, where a trial about
a boy stabbing his father is charged with first degree charges, facing execution. 12
jurors, all with different personalities and backgrounds are settled to discuss the
future of the boy; declaring not guilty will release him from his charges and vice
versa. However, evidence alone wasn t the only pieces that could convince other
jurors. And though it seems mandatory that the jurors would argue and debate
among each other, biases about the boy were the main attention, focusing more so
on that rather than evidence. Juror 10 becomes the best example of having biases
and grudges towards the boy, as he continues throughout the movie to get others to
realize what he s trying to claim, playing a vital role and although juror 10 s motives

Juror 10 at the beginning of the movie was able to convince many people, acting as
one who knows a decent amount about the subject. Though it can be inferred later
that he has lost respect because other jurors whom also have voted guilty from the
start, changed their vote realizing they were forcing themselves to agree with him.
For example, juror 10 will control the room with blunt statements like Bright? He s a
common ignorant slob. He don t even speak good English (12 Angry Men). Blunt
statements carry prejudice against those who live in slums or have trouble
accessing education, in which juror 5, whom is from the slums feels offended. The
stubbornness juror 10 has created a leading refusal for the other jurors to stop and
think, realizing that they re standing with a man who has a grudge against kids in a
certain environment: a stance like that would mean agreeing unlawfully and
arrogantly. Furthermore as the play progresses, the other jurors are finally fed up
with juror 10 mainly after he starts blabbering again getting mad at everyone in the
room saying, I don t understand you people. How can you believe this kid
Comparing The Imagery Of The Frog And The Bog
I thought this was a very entertaining poem about being nobody. I can just see a
person talking to another person in a crowd or people. This could very well be me
in a crowded room standing in the back with another law enforcement person who
does not like the limelight or attention. Emily uses the imagery of the frog and the
bog. She also uses June as a way of putting a sort of image of time. When you think
of June, you think of Spring or Summer. Also, she uses like a frog To tell one s

Symbolism Of The Road Journey
The symbolism of the journey effectively reinforces the idea of the characters
enviable growth and change emphasising the films genre of a Road Movie. This is
done by representing us with a flawed family who require change, to grow and get
Olive to her pageant. The families obstacles are exhibited through the dinner table
scene. Dwayne the brother is a perfect symbol of the obstacles imposed by the road
trip. Portrayed as self absorbed before the road trip (journey), his hatred for his
family, and his desire to become a Jet pilot are apparent, which explains his need to
leave these losers as fast as possible. Dwayne took a vow of silence until he was a fet
pilot portraying his dedication. His begining views are expressed when introduced...

As he screams Fuck it symbolizes his burdens being lifted, then as he torments his
family by finally exposing their flaws he begins to change, and realize he needs to
grow. The directors use this to reinforce to the audience that to grow and change
the family needed to be aware of their own obstacles, and from this they can begin
to heal and grow. Dayton and Faris intentionally used Dwayne as he is seemed to
have the most dedication, with his vow of silence, and they used this to contradict
that dedication allowing us to realize that it was in fact harming instead of helping
him grow. They do this by emphasizing his panic attack and break down in the car
with high tempo non diegetic music, creating a frantic mood. The directors use his
break down to reinforce that to change and grow the characters must face their own
obstacles. They want us to question what is holding us back from personal growth?
Through the symbolism of Dwyane it allows us to comment on human nature, and
our primal instincts. How we as humans adapt and change, we an obstacle becomes
apparent. The philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus stated Cold things grow hot, the hot
cools, the wet dries, the parched moistens. He took this observation of nature and
applied it to human nature. The allegorical significance being that we are constantly
evolving to adapt to our environment, physical, and mentally. We change our views
for selfish reasons for survival, only changing when we are forced to by our

What is marketing? Marketing is the process of planning and executing the
conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to
create exchanges that satisfy both individual and organizational goals. Marketing also
include being able to get the goods from the producer to the consumer. The producer
is responsible for the design and manufacture of goods. Marketing also includes
market research and product development, design, and testing. Marketing
concentrates primarily on the buyers, or consumers and determining their needs and
desires. Companies then need to stress the availability of products and the important
product features. You then need to develop strategies to persuade them to buy and
keep their satisfaction with the product. Marketing management includes planning,
The Safety Of A Car Vehicle
Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of cars are
going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about
it. Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t
need any human interaction to drive the car, while other ones are interested in
driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both autonomous and
driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give
more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and
passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions
about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. A driverless car can
have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive it, and then
the control would also be from a person that would be more watchful and take
responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an autonomous car. The
company already has a semi autonomous one in market, the Fusion hybrid, and they
say that the car is automated, but by automated they mean that it is capable of
automated operation under the supervision of a human driver. Ford already have
one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two new
innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the
fully automated parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help from the
driver, the driver just have to press a button, then

Technology And Its Effect On Society
Teenagers in this digital era are introduced to unprecedented amount of information
about the ideal body through the use of the internet, which portrays this image
through advertising, music videos, and celebrity social media accounts. With the
introduction of connected technology, teen s lust over a body that has most likely
been photo shopped and may be almost impossible to obtain. In other words,
Photoshop sucks.
Photoshop is a way of hiding a realistic image, converting it into a false idea of a
perfect picture. This causes for people to believe on something that is not real, and
causing further problems and conflicts with one another in the way that society has
created image on, what is supposed to look and be perfect. The introduction of
digital photography along with image manipulating programs like Photoshop has
meant that photography s intimate ties with truth and reality have been more
explicitly into question. (Attwood 21 22) Photography used to be a way of holding
onto a happy, sad, exciting, etc. memory. Now it is hard for the public eye to see
what it is real and what is not. Photoshop has been manipulative towards many young
women, because for the different things that is used. One of them is to shrink a
women s waist to make her seem slim, and also as enhancing inner thighs, creating a
false image. This can affect many subconsciously and make them try to do anything
as starving themselves, going into surgeries, just so they can look like that false

My initial inspiration for this piece was Trifles, which funnily enough only shares
the characteristic of detectives being involved within the plot. As per suggestion
on my proposal, I developed my idea of detectives solving a case further by
including dialogue and inter personnel relationships similar to those found in
Glengarry Glen Ross. Taking the idea of different members of the real estate office
discussing work and plotting in Glengarry Glen Ross, and applying them to a trio
of detectives on a case was interesting to say the least. Upon first thinking of what I
wanted to get across, I knew that some form of conspiracy was going to be present.
This was done in the revelation at the end that Chris actually was working with their

This is why towards the end of the play he walks off stage never to return. Chris, I
wrote with the intention of making him an arrogant jerk, or someone that you
would hate to work with. James countered his personality to some extent, or would
have if the victim had not been his friend. I made this a point so that James would
be off his game, so to speak. This would justify in Chris s mind why he would need
to act on the chief s wishes and kill James. In regards to the ending, I chose to end
the play on an ill fitting monologue of sorts. It was jarring enough to not fit the way
the rest of the dialogue was given during the bulk of the play, for I wanted to get
across that Chris was far worse of a person than just being arrogant. James in the
end lets his anger with Chris subside to the point that he may think that Chris is
trying to apologize by offering to get him a drink. This thought will inevitably
prove to be another lack of judgment by James. Overall, the process of writing a
play was a fun experience that I would like to come back to at some point in time,
possibly to expand this story in which I have now crafted. Creating three distinct
characters was quite a challenge, and writing a story with nothing but dialogue for
the most part was also difficult; for the most part it is miles apart from writing
fiction. Drawing inspiration from Glengarry Glen Ross helped set

Thailand. Preschool was fun for me in Thailand. The teachers taught us how to
sing different songs about our culture and the alphabets. We also did some math
problems too. I totally forgot what I learned specifically now though. I was known
as the best student in my class. My short tempered teacher would often say
something like, be more like Pleh Meh. Pleh Meh is your role model. I liked it
when she says that, but I didn t felt like I deserved to be called the best student
though. Anyways, our school lunch was pretty good. They cooked chicken with
mixed vegetables such as beans, broccoli, and potatoes. It was my favorite. Oh and
I hate the bathroom that is close to my preschool. It was so old, there were small
holes on the walls and it looked like it was about to fall down. It was tiny. It also
had no locks on them! When I need to use the restroom, some of my friends would
peek and I felt so uncomfortable that I don t wantto use it. Now I think about it, I m

Russian Art And Artist When people think of art they think of just drawings and
different types of paintings. Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso, two out of the
hundreds of artist, are some of the most outstanding artist that have ever been
discovered. Art classes only teach people to paint and draw, but Chagall and
Picasso taught more than thousands what true art is. Chagall had three big
masterpieces he worked on for a long time. Chagall and Picasso were big artist
because, Marc had three big masterpieces, Don Jose was Picasso Father, and

The painting represents the childhood of Chagall, which was the time he lived in
Vitebsk, Russia. Marc had kind of a rough childhood he was poor and he had
troubles in his life. The dreamy painting is from Russian landscapes and folk
stories. When Folk stories are mentioned it means a story or any kind of belief that
has been passed down. Marc Chagall gave a story painted in a picture of his
childhood. Although this was not the only picture he had painted from a story of
his life. He painted the picture in five different childhood stories (Marc). Next, In
1913 Chagall finished the Fiddler oil paintin. It has two mixtures of the russian
and french art. The oil painting is a type of form that Chagall had used with only
some on his form of paintings. Marc use the Fiddler as a visual image of internal
battle of the average individual during his lifetime using the Fiddler aso the key

Women In Combat Women
Women in Combat: Uncle Sam Expands the Front Line
After a long endured history of only men on the front lines, the ban on women in
combat has been removed. However, talk has spread of opposition towards this
controversial topic. Questions have exploded on whether women will be beneficial
or only a liability. Opposing viewers surrounding this issue believe women are not
capable of excelling in combat. Not only is there differences in male and female
anatomy, the overall workload is too excessive for women to endure. The popular
belief still holds, women belong in the home, not on the battlefield. Yet times are
vastly changing. Modern times has moved society towards fixing the wrongs it has
created. From the Women s Rights Movement to today,... Show more content on

In the 1992 Presidential Commission, it was stated that evidence clearly shows the
distinct physiological differences between men and women and that women are at a
disadvantage when performing tasks requiring a high level of muscular strength and
aerobic capacity. This argument is both under and over inclusive because many
women have the physical strength to engage in combat while many men do not
possess though attributes. In all actuality, men are assigned to ground combat
positions before undertaking physical strength examinations. They base it off
medical evaluations, aptitude test scores and personal preferences. Thus, males are
not removed from combat positions for a lack of physical strength, but women are
banned from entering such positions regardless of physical strength. The jobs
supplied should not be filled based on gender. Military effectiveness requires that the
best qualified person is chosen, whether or not they are a woman. Therefore
developing a gender neutral policy and allowing women to take combat positions
would surely increase effectiveness and capability of the United States armed forces
(McSally). Some of the most courageous soldiers have been women and physical

Montgomery Bus Boycott Dbq Essay
The Montgomery Bus Boycott began with the public arrest of an African
American woman and civil rights activist named Rosa Parks. As stated in
Document A, Rosa Parks boarded a city bus and sat down in the closest seat. It was
one of the first rows of the section where blacks were not supposed to sit... The bus
driver told Rosa Parksthat she would have to give up her seat to a white person. She
refused and was arrested. Rosa s arrest sparked a number of radical events that fought
against racial inequality and segregation over the span of thirteen months. The
Montgomery Bus Boycott was successful because it led to the U.S. Supreme Court
ruling that racial segregation among public transportation (especially buses) was
unconstitutional. The Montgomery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

African American citizens faced before the Montgomery Bus Boycott was successful.
In Document D, Virginia Foster Durr, a white woman who supported African
American civil rights, states in a letter that, The Montgomery Bus Boycott is really
making history... I think they [the Negro community] are going to win it. Durr s
letter highlights the faith in African American civil rights, even among white folk

Women s Political Council that was made up of African American professional
women, sent a respectful letter to the Mayor of Montgomery in 1954. Document B:
Letter from Robinson to the Mayor states that, We are happy to report that busses

Dr. Oliver Sacks Awakenings
A moment of genuine humor in Penny Marshall s film version of Awakenings
finds the ward nurses at a Bronx hospital for chronic mental patients annoyed at
having to stop watching a soap opera on television. They happen to be surrounded
by real life events of a sort that soap opera writers only dream about, miraculous
occurrences alive with joy and pathos, love and laughter, courage and tears: all the
things that give the phrase triumph of the human spirit a bad name. It need not have
been so. Awakenings, Dr. Oliver Sacks s 1973 account of the events that are seen
here, is quite free of false sentiment, preferring to let the extraordinary facts of Dr.
Sacks s medical detective story speak for themselves. The patients whose lives he

Thus these patients, Dr. Sacks wrote, some of whom had been thrust into the
remotest or strangest extremities of human possibility, experienced their states
with unsparing perspicacity and retained the power to remember, to compare, to
dissect and to testify. It was Dr. Sacks s inspired understanding of this state as
possibly responsive to the drug L dopa that led to the opening of what the film
calls a chemical window. For a brief period, these patients regained their ability to
move and speak freely. Their wildly unpredictable reactions to this physiological
windfall, as documented scrupulously and reflectively by Dr. Sacks, are what give
Awakenings its potency as both a mystery story and a meditation on the limits of
human consciousness. If Dr. Sacks s descriptions make impossible sounding
transformations sound real, Ms. Marshall s film very often has the opposite effect.
Her Awakenings is a fairy tale forged uneasily out of facts, despite the facts
overwhelming strangeness and weight. Awakenings both sentimentalizes its story and
oversimplifies it beyond recognition. At no point does the film express more than
one idea at a time. And the idea expressed, more often than not, is as banal as the

The Modern Age Presents Multiple Channels For Action,...
The modern age presents multiple channels for action, dialogue and discussion.
Furthermore, social and political thought suggests that spaces of remembrance
encourage understanding, thought and reflection. Thus, it is thought that memory
holds vast opportunities to mend the of frailty of human affairs. Good deeds, when
reified into memories can be held up to be replicated, or possibly surpassed in the
future. Yet the process of memorialisation is often contested, for the formation of
memory can only occur in retrospect on behalf of someone or something. Public
commemoration is a difficult process, as it simplifies and condenses complex stories
at the cost of omitting others. Thus, spaces of remembrance can become spaces of
contestation, and memory entails political risk. Memory presents a crucial tension in
the network of ideas and action, which are both public and private. It is not only
central to improving the frailty of human affairs, it is a dauntingly complex process
weaved with intrinsically personal reflections, which, leads us to the fundamental
paradox of memory. Memory is crucial to the public realm, but it originates within.
Furthermore, the modern age multiplies spaces of remembrance presenting an
unfettered opportunity to improve the frailty of human affairs. Yet, the contestation
of memories such as those in war have often been internalised, and thus refuted on a
deeply personal level to challenge mourning is viewed as perverse act of

Persuasive Essay On Religion
Religion was discovered back in 2000 BC and is even considered to be a trait
common to all human cultures worldwide to this day. Some use religion as a way
to cope, to connect, but few could use religion to exert hate onto others. In the
name of religion, over 195,035,000 lives have been claimed in tragedies. Despite
this, the cruelties religion has placed on people had also caused others to come
together in order to speak out. As a result of religions regression in society, humans
are still able to progress in order to defend human rights. Christianity is one of the
largest religions to stand with more than 2.22 billion followers. However, not all
Christians feel the same on certain issues, whether it may be political or morals. An
example would be the Westboro Baptist Church; a hate groupknown for its hostility
towards those who do not meet up to their standards, specifically members of the
LGBT, Catholics, American soldiers, and Muslims. The church originally received
national attention in October, 1998, for picketing the funeral of a man named
Matthew Shepardwho was beaten and tortured for being gay. Romaine Patterson, a
friend of Shepard s, recalled that she couldn t take her eyes off of the neon signs

church had displayed Shepard in their memorial section on their website. The page
states that the church does not support the fact he was murdered, but that they

Women s Rights By Judith Jarvis Thomson s A Defense Of...
Starting from centuries ago, leading up to the popular culture of today, there have
been numerous debates on the rights for humanity; more specifically women s
rights. What rights women should or should not have, as well as what rights women
do or do not have, has been expanding in almost all aspects of society in recent
years. In fact even in our most modern and well known political events was centered
around this topic, and that was our 2017 presidential election. Human rightsare

Because each individual state has their own set of laws beneath the federal line, there
are many technicalities that are now involved with the process making it somewhat
difficult, if not impossible, for a woman to receive an abortion. In fact, according to
The Guttmacher Institute, 45 states allow individual health care providers to refuse
to participate in an abortion, and 42 states allow institutions to refuse to perform
abortions. In other words, somewhat similar to the opinion of Thomson, an abortion
may only be performed if the physician or institute deem the circumstances right. This
is where I see the issue with circumstantial permissibility; it subliminally gives more
right to certain woman than to others. To explain this idea further one could examine
Thomson s first clear point in regards to her argument as well as the underlying
theme of her piece, human rights. Her first point is The right to life . She begins with
the question of whether the right to life holds more weight than the right to decide
what one does with one s own body. It is here that Thomson seems to open up a
multitude of sides for this argument; one s right to life may outweigh another s right
to their own body, some have more right to life than others depending on their
circumstances, some do not have more right to life than others depending on their
circumstances, etc. However, despite bringing these numerous positions into the
argument, she does

Investigation Of A Coil Gun
Abstract: The task of this assignment is to evaluate the of a coil gun using the
variables of number of rapes of coil and the distance the projectile will travel. Then
will evaluate and investigate the physics behind the gun. Aim: The purpose of this
investigation the efficiency of a coil gun using the relationship between the
number of coils and the distance the projectile travelled. Hypothesis: In this
investigation there is a relationship between the number of coils and the distance
the projectile travelled. Therefore the more coils the further the projectiles will
travel (cm). Prediction: As more coils are wrapped around the gun, the distance of
the projectile will increase. Literature Review: Coil gun A coilgun (aka gun Gauss,
Gauss Gauss cannon or rifle) is a type of gun that uses a series of electromagnets
for magnetically accelerate a projectile at high speed. The name Gauss gun comes
from Carl Friedrich Gauss, who formulated the mathematical proofs of the
electromagnetic effect used by Gauss cannons. The Gauss cannons are often called
wrongly railguns from various sources, and while they are similar in general concept
(ie, a magnetic weapon), differ in operation, since a railgun accelerates the missiles
on two rails parallel conductors. The Gauss cannons are in substance identical to the
projector mass, albeit on a smaller scale. Kristian Birkeland is commonly considered
the inventor of the electromagnetic cannon Gauss, by which he obtained a patent

Honeycomb tire
Introduction
Getting a flat tire is never convenient. When we find our car s tire is broke in the
street, it is hard for us to do something for it. We may call some towing companies
to towing our car to some place safe. But it need cost a lot of money. Why the tirecan
flat, because inside of the tire is air. We using a lot of air inside of the tire, so we can

will never flat, we need find a way to replace the air.
Modern tire is Honeycomb tire is kind of tire that mimic the honeycomb shape. an

the enemy will try to broken the tire of the Resource truck. And it is very easy to

need to be strong enough for the truck to go to a safe place.
Not just the resource truck. In the battlefield, we need truck or car to sent our solider

Miles Davis Influence
Question 11
Miles Davis was one of the greatest and most important figures in jazz history.
Miles Dewey Davis III was a musician, composer, arranger, producer and
bandleader all in one. Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development
in jazz after World War 2. He was one of the most influential and innovative
musicians of the twentieth century along with Charlie Parker and Louis Armstrong.
His versatility landed him at the forefront of bebop, cool jazz, modal, hard bop and
fusion (Kirker, 2005:1). His sound went on to influence many other newer forms of
music today such as pop, soul, R amp;B, funk and rap. As one of the last trumpet
players, Davis employed a lyrical, melodic style that was known for its minimalism

bebop was a shift from cool jazz and announced the arrival of hard bop (Sales,
1992:171). Hard bop was the evolvement and development from bop during the
1950s and 1960s, often regarded as a reaction to the restraint and intellectualism of
cool jazz (Kingman, 1990:389).
With the installation of the Miles Davis Quintet, Davis picked up where his late
forties sessions left off. Eschewing the rhythmic and harmonic complexity of the
prevalent bebop, Davis was given space to play long, legato and essentially
melodic lines, where he would begin to explore modal music, his lifelong
obsession. Modal jazz is a new venture for jazz both harmonically and structurally,
it no longer used the chord progressions of standard tunes as the basis for
improvisation replaced by a succession of scales on which the performer
improvised instead (Kingman, 1990:390). Davis had definitely gone a long way in
his trumpet playing since collaborating with Parker. No longer dependant on bebop
phrasing, he chose a minimalist approach instead. Ornate phrasing gave way to a
smattering of tones. He was also utilizing a Harmon mute, sometimes adding reverb,
which had a whisper effect and personalised his sound. Elements of texture and
silence between notes were becoming more dominant (Kirker, 2005:2). By 1958, he
had freed himself by using modal scales and slower moving harmonies. Milestones

LANs are widely used by colleges, universities and other types of organizations to
link microcomputers and to share printers and other resources.
The LAN represented is a typical arrangement and provides two benefits are
Economy and flexibility. People can share costly equipment. For instance, the four

pieces of hardware, Other equipment or nods may also be added to the LAN for

There are a variety of different standards or ways in which nodes can be connected to

most common standard is known as Ethernet. LANs using this standard are

Revolution And Social Movements
Revolutions and social movements can be a huge deal and cause major effects in
history. Some examples of them are the Ku Klux Klan and the French Revolution.
These are just some of the hundreds out there that have happened in the past or are
happening now. One thing that I want to point out is that they are not the same.
Revolutions and social movements are very different in several ways and similar in
some.
Revolutions, they are a necessary change in the political power when people rise up
against it. Revolutions tend to be exceedingly more violent than social movements.
For example, the American Revolution was when the 13 colonies rejected the
British monarchy and overthrew the authority and founded the United States of
America. There were various wars fought in this revolution. Most were very bloody
and violent. Over 10,000 soldiers were injured or killed in this war. It may not seem
like tons, but when the 13 colonies were first beginning there weren t very many
people living there anyways.
Social movements, they are large group actions that are usually focused on changing
a political or social problem. Social movements aren t as violent as revolutions,
although they can tend to get fairly violent. One example of a social movement would
be the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan is one ... Show more content on

The Pros And Cons Of Television Commercials
Television commercials are a form of advertising, it is a way for people to know
about a product. It is a chance for companies along with their marketing team to get
creative, to convince the audience that they absolutely need that item to better their
lifestyle, in order for them to do that through commercials they have to think about
the intended audience. The intended audience is usually either men or women
which are the two groups of consumers. Both genders regardless of the role they
have whether it is a mom, a dad, teens or kids, are usually influenced by what they
see, and most people watch television on a regular basis which makes it easy for
companies to advertise through television. Commercials also tend to change
depending on what people watch, this occurs so that depending on the audience the
show has or if it is sports that they are watching then consumers could see
commercials that will appeal to them. Steve Craig selected various television
commercials that use to air back in the 1990s, he analyzed them and wrote Men s
Men and Women s Women where he argues that commercials were gendered. Seeing
commercials that are being aired today and comparing them to the ones that Craig
analyzed you can the differences between them. Today s commercials are still
gendered, but not as much as those from the 1990s. One of the biggest differences
that can be seen, and that Craig also noticed is that in the past commercials
advertisers would match the expectations and
What Does It Mean You Be Well Educated By Alfie Kohn
Essay
In his essay What Does It Mean To Be Well Educated, Alfie Kohn challenges the
current standards that people consider crucial in order for a person to be considered
well educated and explores some interesting questions that help provide the reader
with a completely different understanding, perspective, and possibility for standards
of good education. At the beginning, Kohn explains how people can argue about
the purpose of education, but then fail to realize and recognize whether or not
education has truly been successful. Then, Kohn provides the reader with an
example of his wife, a successful physician who completed her study for doctoral
dissertation in anthropology from Harvard, yet still lacks some educational basics
that people consider necessary factors to possess in order for a person to fit in the
defined group of well educated individuals. (Kohn 231 232). After that, Kohn
explores some definitions that people set as essential measurements for determining
whether or not a person is well educated and explains why all these standard

The Gift Of The Magi Analysis
True love is about sacrifice for the sake of the ones you love. In The Gift Of The
Magi by William Sydney Porter, also known as O.Henry, the couple, Della and Jim
James Dillingham Young, each had their own special trait or article of theirs that
they prized more than anything else. Della prized her beautiful long brown hair,
that had been grown just past her knees. Jim prized his gold watch that had been
his grandfather s, then his father s and now his. They find it upon themselves to
buy a valuable gift for each other for Christmas, and with only $1.87, Della sells
her hair to buy a platinum chain for Jim s watch. That would have worked out well
if Jim hadn t sold his watch to buy tortoise shell combs for Della s hair, which she
sold. They both liked each other s gift and the thought that was put into it, and
although their gifts may not be able to be used at that time, they still shared their love.
The theme of the story is, love means sacrifice. When Della had the idea to sell her
hair for money to buy Jim s chain, she didn t know that he would sell his watch to
buy combs for her hair. She took it upon herself to buy him a valuable gift to show
Jim her love for him, and how much she cared for him, enough to sell her most
prized possession. In the story Della states, Be good to me, because I sold it for
you. Maybe the hairs of my head could be counted, she said, but no one could ever
count my love for you. This quote proves how although she sacrificed her hair,
Essay on Christianity and Judaism
A dictionary definition should suffice to define Religion but because of the
complexity of the subject, it tends to be insufficient one has to resource to the faith
meaning to better understand it. Let us look into what the dictionary tell us; First,
the belief in a god or in a group of gods. Second and organized system of belief,
ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or group of gods. And lastly an interest,
a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group. In truth there is no
one definition that accurately depicts what religion is. If there is not any explanation
that completely envelops the actual meaning, then it is understandable that there is
no one true universal religion. Religious... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The law of circumcision is thought to have been set up in order to distinguish
between Gentiles and Jews. God made a covenant with Abraham; he said that the
descendants of Abraham shall inherit a promised land (foundation for the belief that
they are the chosen people) because of his faith in and fear of God. God promised
Abraham that the Jews (his descendants) would inherit the land of Canaan. The
teachings of Judaism are based upon the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament), which
consists of three sections: Torah, Prophets and Writings. The collection as a whole is
referred to as the Tanak. The Torah consists of the first five books of the Hebrew bible
written by Moses. Traditionally it is believed to be the revelation of God to
Moses. While, conventional Judaism teaches that God revealed the Torah to
Moses, eccentric forms of Judaism recognize the insights and approaches of
modern biblical scholarship (Rosenberg pg.32). The Torah tells the story of the
foundation of Judaism. More importantly, Torah consists of the defining
cornerstone on which Judaism is built and will rest. (Robinson pg. 264) The books
contained in Torah are the basis of belief (Robinson pg. 279). The second section
of the Hebrew bible, Nevi im (the Prophets) is considered to have been written by
people blessed with the spirit of prophecy. It contains a record of most of the
important history in the years after Moses. The
Retirement is Stripping the Corporate World of Knowledge
Knowledge is leaving the firm at an alarming pace. Retirements are stripping the firm
of corporate experience, and projects are repeating mistakes that have been avoided
in the past. Average time to complete carrier maintenance is 3 months longer than
average. Traditional methods of training and transferring knowledge have not yielded
tangible benefits. To reverse this trend, the Carrier Maintenance Leadership Team
should establish and resource Knowledge Sharing Networks (KSN) centered on key
business practices. These KSNs will ensure best practices are applied and
institutionalized. These newly formed groups will also transfer tacit knowledge and
strengthen relationships among the activities that work on our Carriers.
Surveying the workforce, 52 percent of management is eligible to retire in the next 5
years. Our middle management workforce has only 7 years of experience, a
decline 4 years of average experience. Training costs have soared, but are proving
ineffective. Despite a Navy high budget of $5M in FY13, quality defects have
increased 10%. The Carrier maintenance leadership
During execution, additional lessons learned and better practices will evolve.
Knowledge sharing network members will communicate among the network to
convey this information and assure the knowledge base is updated. The network also
provides a means to quickly troubleshoot problems encountered by bringing the
knowledge and experience of the wide network of carrier experts
Observations of Realists Essay
Minor Essay Trimester 1, 2013 1) Are the observations of Realists, such as Hans
Morgenthau, accurate in respect to their assessment of the importance of international
law in contemporary world politics? Realists such as Hans Morgenthau and more
recently Lloyd Gruber, base their theories on the assumption individuals, and hence
states, act rationally to protect their own interests, the national interest. They believe
states exist in a world of anarchy without an over arching authority. While this may
be the case and it certainly is for some states, it is a theory that requires review
within the context of the modern world and international law. In the world of bi polar
power during the Cold War, Morgenthau s views interpreted... Show more content on

An argument by Social Constructionist such as Barnett and Finnemore is that IGOs
have the real power. As I will show later using the US invasion of Iraq, governments
still have the final say on their actions, although IGOs, NGOs and MNCs play a very
large role in influencing them. Having stated this, one may counter argue this implies
it is still a state verses state environment (Realism), however, the world has still
evolved into government verses government verses IGOs, NGOs and MNCs,
henceforth realism cannot not explain the actions of governments alone and must
consider the external influences. Constructivism does so, but places the power into
the hands of IGOs and the like. An alternative needs to be sought. Alternatives such as
the European Union, which remains ...the most successful experiment in political
institution building since the Second World War. Andrew Moravcsik goes on to say
the EU cannot replace or aspire to the democratic status of nation states, yet their role
remains embedded in monitoring accountability and extensive checks and balances
upon its member states. Emerging actors such as the EU again demonstrate the
changing environment and clearly indicate realist theories, must by reconsidered.
Focusing on the institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World
Bank, we can cite several occasions in which their influence has shaped global
politics, whether for selfish or selfless motivations. The concept of poverty alleviation
Sister Carrie Character Analysis
In Sister Carrie, Dreiser uses very detailed descriptions of characters and their
appearance. These are not empty descriptions, each description of the clothes is so
convincing that it plays with the readers senses allowing them to visualize a
dynamic cinematic picture (Stankovic 79). For example, Carrie s total outfit
consisted of a small trunk, a cheap imitation alligator skin satchel, a small lunch in
a paper box, and a yellow leather snap purse, containing her ticket, a scrap piece of
paper with her sister s address in Van Buren Street, and four dollars in money
(Dreiser 1). Such a description describes a person who is leaving in a rush with
little money and only a scribbled address, but someone who longs for more, as the
imitation alligator skin satchel suggests. She wants to convey a bit of wealth in
her appearance and impression even though the bag is imitation. Each of these
men become the lovers of Carrie in the novel, and she was drawn to each of them
by her impressions of their appearance, but first impressions can be wrong and
appearances can be falsely portrayed. Carrie first succumbs to Drouet, becoming his
mistress acting falsely as his wife. She is later drawn to Hurstwood because of his
appearance. When Carrie meets her lover Drouet, and later Hurstwood, she compares
them, measuring their financial situation by looking at their clothes (Stanovic 81).
Notice that Carrie describes Drouet s business look as appealing, but Hurstwood s

As a result of SKM s efforts, John Fruehwirth, a principal at Allied Capital, was
considering an injection of $20 million worth of mezzanine debt/growth capital in E
bar. Fruehwirth was aware of the fact that a restaurant with significant growth
opportunity like E bar could either be the next Cheesecake Factory, or flop and take
the debt injection along with it. E bar has shown initial success in California, but
Allied s investment committee needed to evaluate if this continued success can be
applied outside the state. Areas of main concern included if the E bar concept was
sufficiently strong to visit and be a nationwide brand or if it had been merely a
California concept. And in the case of success, would Allied Capital be able to
meet is underwriting standards? Based upon the Black Scholes formula and the
financial information provided in this case, it is recommended that a current stock
price of $6.18 be used and the warrant agreement be increased to 3.9% of total
shares outstanding to yield an IRR of 18%. This report will support and examine E
bar s ability in generating the required return on invested capital from Allied Capital
and conclude by providing a recommendation on the deal alterations based on Allied
Capital s needs. The next section examines AC s due diligence on E bar s growth
potentials and the industry it operates in.

Child Has A Rare Genetic Disorder
Iris eyes dilated with terror as she held her newborn. My baby! Iris wept. What s
wrong with my baby?!
Shriveled skin and huge oozing blisters plagued the baby s entire body as it shrieked
almost as loud as Iris wailing.
I m sorry, Ms. Macadamia, but your child has developed a rare genetic disorder,
But it will go away...won t it?! My baby won t be a monster forever?
Ma am your child has butterfly syndrome. I m sorry.
No! My precious baby! Can t you fix it?! I d do anything!
The doctors exchanged anxious glances.

She knew this was what was right. This is what her husband would want her to do.
Okay Ms. Macadamia. As long as your son is in his cocoon, you may visit him, but
he will not be conscious.
Thank you. God bless you, Dr. Fern.
One week zipped by before Iris left the hospital, dewy eyed. The next time she d be
with her boy he would be taller and heavier. He d have actual hair and longer fingers
and bigger feet. But he would be cured.
On her first visit a couple weeks later, she examined her child. His wounds from
birth had deceptively shrank, he had been released from his protective shelter, he
would have many more outbreaks. His genetic disorder would have to be completely
out of his system in order to save him from an abnormal life.
Good morning, Ms. Macadamia, said a doctor with porcelain skin and diamond eyes.
Today I have been assigned to show you how our cocoon works. It is required that
anyone participating in an experiment must understand exactly what they are doing.
Iris nodded, watching her baby, comatose in his safe haven.
In this machine, his DNA will be meticulously altered so that he no longer possesses
the symptoms of Epidermolysis Bullosa. Iris smiled. But you do understand, he will
be five years old by the time the cocooning process is over.
Yes, I would rather give him the life he deserves no matter the time it takes.
Okay, Ms. Macadamia. Today is the last day that you may have any
My Love for Cosmetology
Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people s hair. When I
was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was
perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help
other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while
working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many
different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to
do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would
like to open up a mini salon out of my own home someday. I have many talents and
interest that will help me succeed in the cosmetology field like communication...

Candidates must graduate from a state approved program for cosmetology. The
board exam for a cosmetology has a wide variety of topics from a written test, oral
exam and maybe even a skills test (Barbers, Hairdressers, and Cosmetologists). In
the state of North Carolina 1500 hours is required for the completion of the
program. Many people might choose not to complete 1500 hours so they can
choose to complete 1200 if they would like. The downfall to completing only 1200
hours is that you will have to work an additional six months or more under the
supervision of a licensed hairstylist (Hairston). Many hairstylists choose to take
extra advancement courses for hairstyling or other personal appearance services. If a
hairstylist would like to open their own business or help another hairstylist manage
their salon they can choose to take business and marketing classes outside of the
coursework. Most states offer reciprocity but there is certain qualifications the
licensure must adhere by. The licensure should also check the state they would like
to transfer to education requirements being that something may be slightly different
(Barbers, Hairdressers, and Cosmetologists). To switch over your license to the state
of North Carolina you must ask your previous state to send in a letter of certification
showing that you have the proper documentation to show you have obtained a license
and have met all the required objectives to practice in the field (Apply
Sweatshop Exploitation And Responsibility Of Sweatshops
Gabrielle Chan

Humanities 3rd Blue
12 November 2014
Sweatshop Exploitation and Responsibility
Sweatshops were first well known to the public eye when several major corporations
exploitation of workers were revealed during the late twentieth century. Sweatshops
generally are factories that provide workers with socially unacceptable working
conditions, especially dealing with clothing items. With the expanding apparel
industries around the world, more and more corporations are using sweatshop
factories to their advantage. Numerous companies claim that they are not
responsible for actions of those factories from which they purchase from because it
is not part of their corporation. However, action needs to be taken by the government
and individual corporations to improve the working conditions in sweatshop
factories. Due to the harsh working environment, insufficient pay, and other factors
that cause inhumane treatment of workers in sweatshops, the US government
should improve working conditions for workers, have stricter regulations on
sweatshops, and strive to improve the treatment of sweatshop workers across the
globe. Sweatshop proponents argue that even though sweatshops may not provide
the best working conditions for workers, it at least provides a job for those who are
in desperate need of one. In a way, a sweatshop may even benefit the workers. The
money the workers earn from working in the sweatshop factory may be the deciding
factor in whether they have food
The Sculpture On South Campus At Moravian College
The sculpture on South Campus at Moravian College commonly known as Moravian
Roots One and Two, who was created by Steve Tobin in 2010 has a significant
meaning behind the moderately new sculpture. There are two of the same types of
sculptures in the same place, just distance away from one another. This sculpture
seems to be abstract, since we are taking the form of what it looks like to create a
meaning, which can be something different in other people s eyes. The sculpture
is a dark black shade that naturally blends in with the surroundings, therefore
making it blend in with its natural surroundings. The negative space between the
roots are easily seen since its roots are based in various directions, showing us how
far the roots of the sculpture and realistically Moravian has grown. There is no
base or pedestals for these two sculptures who go hand in hand together, but it is
roughly around five feet standing upward and going in sporadic directions, to
signify differences. They are roundly shaped with carved pointed edges giving the
image that it is like a tree root or branch, being slightly pointed on the top. The
inner parts of the tree roots are textured off to have a little dots making it a bit
rougher than the soft and smooth outer sides that we see from a distance. There
seems to be no said real front or back side to this piece because the tree roots go in
different directions, therefore giving the observer a chance to decide which way they
would like to view it.

The identification of several risk factors associated with poor hand hygiene
compliance is of extreme importance in the design of an education program .There
should be continues education and monitoring of healthcare worker on effective hand

ring, wrist watch, long fingernail and use of hand lotion has impact on spread of
infection by healthcare workers (Fagemes amp;Lingaas 2010. Health care workers
that use wrist watches at work may cause or promote higher total bacteria count than
not wearing a watch. A similar situation occurs with finder ring and health care
workers should remove finger rings and watches when at work, fingernails should be
shorter than 2 mm, so as to reduce HAI (Fagemes amp;Lingaas 2010).

  • 2. Effects of Social Networking on Business Growth Development CHAPTER ONE introduction The advent of the Atomic or Space Age has focused attention on the specific approach to business decision making. In no field of management has this been more pronounced than in the field of marketing. Following naturally from the more advanced technologically progress and higher standard of living in Canada, the United States and other developed economies, scientific marketing has made greater strides in North America than if has anywhere else in the world. The changes have been swift and far reaching. The dynamic characteristics of the North American economy have been fully demonstrated in what has been aptly described as a marketing revolution , equaling in importance the industrial revolution of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AN OVERVIEW OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR Dr. Iheanyi C. Achuma: When we look into the market place, it is not always easy to tell what is happening, let alone why. It is easy for consumer to get lost among all the complex inter relations of the market. As the leisure time becomes more important, the society getting more dynamic and unpredictable, attitude towards work, goods and services change, the word consumption itself is being reinterpreted. It is enough to see chills running up and down the procedures of goods and services. The shock waves that originate with product failures or dissatisfied consumers is ill wind that does nobody any good. The effects of such shock waves are bound to radiate throughout the entire economy and society. The question then is can t this situation be avoided or controlled? The answer is fairly simple but economically important. Consumption is a fundamental part of every economic and social system and changes in consumer behavior have varying implications for the whole society. Consumption patterns reflect the personality of the individual. Fundamental institutions are not left out because a great deal of consumption takes place through the family. Consumption and society are related in some other ways too. Consumption is in part culturally determined and thus can be held up as a mirror of society. The things
  • 3. Essay on Google s Organizational Culture and Success Google s Organizational Culture and Success In his book Organizational Culture and Leadership, Schein defines the culture as: The climate and practices that organizations develop around their handling of people, or to the espoused values and credo of an organization . We can analyze Google s organizational culturethought Ouchi s framework. Ouchi studied three different company s culture and saw that the differences between those explained a part of the company s success. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There aren t any managerial hierarchies or management structure, which gives the employees complete freedom. Even thought employees can make their own decision if something is wrong on a product to rectify it decisions are usually occurring in groups and based on the principles of full information sharing. Plus, the concern for people goes beyond the individual at work and extends to the individual s interests, hobbies, beliefs etc.. We can see that especially during lunch at the cafeteria. Nevertheless Google emphasis the team work goals over the personal ones. Ouchi argues that the culture of the Type Z firms helps those to outperform typical American firms. The main reason it that firms like Google systematically invests in their people and operations over the long run and so obtain steady and significant improvements in the long term performance! We can also analyse the organizational culture and define it as an organic structure. This type of structure is characterized by flexibility, empowerment and teamwork. It emphases on the fact that workers are emotional beings. This structure defines well Google s organization as it is non hierarchical and cross functional: there aren t any barriers between the different departments. People are encouraged to get involved in other activities then their own. Also the top management leaves their office door open in order for workers to feel free to come and talk directly.
  • 4. Symptoms And Treatment Of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases In the current world population there is a large increase in people diagnosed with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), lactose intolerance and/or a combination of the two. Theories suggest that the delayed onset of lactose intolerance, in patients who already have IBD s, may arise as secondary lactose intolerance but only as a byproduct of the IBD. This begs the question of if the prevalence of an IBD predisposes that same person to lactose intolerance and if so, what are the drivers that allow this to happen? Inflammatory bowel diseases are categorized into two subset categories, ulcerative colitis(UC) and Crohn s disease. IBD s are defined as a chronic inflammationof all or part of a digestive tract. The inflammation takes place... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those who are lactose intolerant also have diminishes levels of lactase, the small intestinal enzyme responsible for the catalysis of lactose. Dietary supplementation of the lactase enzyme has, in some cases, proven to rectify the symptoms of lactose intolerance. During infancy the vast majority of humans have the ability to digest and catabolize lactose into glucose and galactose via the lactase enzyme. This catabolic capability is vital for newborn mammals, given that their primary source of nutrition comes from their mother s milk. During the weaning period, when children cease to use milk as a primary source of nutrition, the production of the lactase enzyme severely deteriorates and eventually leads to the inability to catabolize lactose. While this may be the natural progression of the expression of the lactase enzyme, there remains a large, predominantly western population that maintains a steady production of lactase, those individuals are known as lactase persistent (Baumgart, et al.). Lactase Persistence Causes: Lactase persistence has been strongly suggested to be a function of genetic causes and its inheritance occurs in an autosomal recessive manner. Individuals that exhibit the highest lactase activity are genotypically homozygous recessive for lactase persistence; where as individuals who show lower lactase activities are heterozygous or homozygous
  • 5. Social Mobility Essay As a child I remember hearing stories about a lost family fortune from my father s side of the family. I never put a lot of stock into those stories, but evidently they were true. My father s side was comprised of farmers for many generations. The Owens family owned thousands of acres of land in Kentucky, on which they farmed tobacco and raised horses and cattle. My father, Leland, blames his grandfather s generation for whittling away the familys money. Even with the loss of prestige of owning such an abundance of land, the family continued to farm. I suppose it is all they knew. They became good, working class farmers and small business owners, working on their modest sized farms. But they did own the land which separates them from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another older brother Mike was the first to go to college. My father was only a teen ager when his brothers went away from the farm life. That, paired with the death of their father, Harlan, in 1975 when my dad was 16, became the death of the farm, as well. While many of his siblings have simply moved horizontally and continue to be working class, as machinists and factory employees, other have progressed to the middle class, as factory managers. My father and his older brother Mike have vertically shifted into the upper middle class. After a BS in Computer Science and numerous certifications in software and web development, my father is now a Software Analyst for Eli Lilly and Co. As my father s side was primarily farmers until his generation, my mother s side of the family was comprised of primarily factory workers until her generation. Like my father s family, Nancee s family was mostly working class, but there was a tendency for them to become the working poor. Working in factories and on the railways provided work for my Great Grandparents Bessie and Charles. But they made a vertical shift downward to the working poor when Charles decided that he would rather drink than work. Then Bessie began to do laundry and my Grandmother, Ramona, had to get a job working in a shoe factory in the evenings after school. Even
  • 6. Our Belief Systems And Values Life is full of mysteries. From childhood, people became curious of things that surround them. Humans experience pain and pleasure through the senses. However the environment plays a major cause of everyone s behaviors. When people grow older, they become curious. They start asking questions such as; where did we come from and why we are here? To help us understand these questions better, we should first find who we are. For this reason, it is essential to define our belief system and identify our current values to help us understand ourselves better. A belief system is the essential elements that shaped our set of values for which we base everything we do. Religion has been around for thousands of years. Some people believed in many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All religions have their accepted dogma, or articles of belief, that follower must accept without question. This can lead to inflexibility and intolerance in the face of other beliefs (Brahm, 2005). For this reason, conflict can easily break out among people of different beliefs. Historical events showed what happened to the Jewish people in Germany during World War II. Because of their different beliefs, they were sent to concentration camps. Another example is the genocide in Rwanda. In just 100 days, following a government coup in early April, some 800,000 Rwandans were ruthlessly murdered by their countrymen (Haynes, 2002). History reveled that religion can be one of the greatest causes of conflict among people of different beliefs. The world today is composed of many religions. Some shared something in common but others have significant differences. I know my religion; however it is imperative for me to know other people s religion to understand people behavior better. It is very important to be knowledgeable about people s beliefs and attitudes toward religion. If all people learned about other religions, they will understand more about how religion ties into the world s events. As a business professional, knowing other people s belief system helps us to communicate better to people of different beliefs. Regardless of how we carry out our lives throughout our daily existence, our values are influenced by our belief system. We
  • 7. Leadership in Remember the Titans Essay Remember the Titans In the movie Remember the Titans , there are many management concepts covered throughout the movie and he is the agent in the movie. The players on the Titans are the targets of the influence. Remember the Titans is the perfect movie for Exam 3. It covers many topics that were on the exam, and this class has given me a different way of looking at the movie. I have seen the movie many times, but I never looked at it from a management perspective. It now makes sense to me to look at a football team, or any other type of sports team, from a management point of view. Coach Herman Boone, who is played by Denzel Washington, is a very influential person. He is a perfect leader. While it cannot be found out for sure,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their opponents do not score against them often in the movie. In the movie, Coach Boone is a master motivator. He does an excellent job of energizing his players, sustaining the motivation, directing the motivation to the right players at the right time, and also knowing when to stop motivating. The satisfaction progression hypothesis is also displayed in the movie. Coach Boone knows that the small things, such as making the routine plays in the game, must be done first before the main goal can be achieved, winning the game. He also has a high expectancy of his team. He believes that the effort of his team will lead to performance and that the performance will lead to results. He expects his team to practice just as hard as they play in the game. Julius Campbell and Gary Bertier, the two main characters on the team, are also excellent motivators. They get their teammates pumped up before and during the game. As with most sports teams, the Titans have an autocratic leadership style. Coach Boone is the one and only person who makes the decisions, he is the main man in charge. The style is productive, and the team wins games. Although he has assistant coaches, such as Bill Yoast who is the defensive coordinator, all the decisions must go through Coach Boone first. The democratic leadership style is not applicable on a football team because that s why teams have coaches. The team does not make group decisions. Coach Boone also uses Job Enlargement in Remember the

Dakota Access Pipeline Tom Carnesciali, T05 314 640 0826 Proposal Argument Standing with Standing Rock Citizens of the U.S. must petition and call public officials to urge the Obama administration to declare Standing Rock Indian Reservation a National Monument, thereby halting the development of the Dakota Access Pipeline, to accomplish the following priorities: prevent the contamination of a vital U.S. water source and its surrounding ecosystems, stop the human rights violations and abuse at Standing Rock, and avert the desecration of sacred native burial grounds. Stopping the pipeline would additionally benefit the planet and all its inhabitants by assisting the transition away from reliance on fossil fuels, and toward more sustainable energy sources, a vital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another possible solution to the harmful consequences I ve outlined is organizing a group of military veterans to camp at the reservation, and stand with the protesters in defiance of the construction. This act by a group of national heroes would garner both worldwide attention, and political support. Over 2,000 veterans are already organized and poised to arrive at the several encampments, and historic and symbolic act of reverence to the Sioux Nation is unprecedented. Perhaps this act in conjunction with the National Monument Status would have the most impact, and could give so much press to the issue of the pipeline that the project could be halted
  • 9. My Interest Towards Family Medicine My interest towards family medicine began during my early childhood years. I grew up in a small and developing city called Salalah, Oman where health care resources were sparse. Back in 1990 s, immigrants from low income and middle class families could not afford health care. My mother, a nurse, and her friend, a primary care physician, were considered the healers of our neighborhood. Families and neighbors, who were sick, wounded, or in need of medical advice, came to them for help. I grew up watching them become the de facto healthcare resources of our neighborhood. This inspired me to venture into the field of medicine. After moving to New York, I was determined to take advantage of the opportunities I had. While volunteering at a nursing home through church, I met several family physicians and internists. I was impressed by their professionalism while interacting with patients. All patients were treated with the same delicate care, despite their array of debilitated statuses. Poor hygiene did not distract the physician, but rather it urged them to provide medical care to the best of their ability. The patients felt this and their immense gratitude was palpable. I realized how imperative it was for any physician to value their character, attitude, and skill. My experiences inspired me to continue volunteering at nursing homes and church events, where I could give a helping hand to those in need. In turn, I developed a compassionate, comforting, and respectful attitude.

Dayton and Faris intentionally used Dwayne as he is seemed to have the most dedication, with his vow of silence, and they used this to contradict that dedication allowing us to realize that it was in fact harming instead of helping him grow. Both autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. James countered his personality to some extent, or would have if the victim had not been his friend. I made this a point so that James would be off his game, so to speak. This would justify in Chris s mind why he would need to act on the chief s wishes and kill James. In regards to the ending, I chose to end the play on an ill fitting monologue of sorts. It was jarring enough to not fit the way the rest of the dialogue was given during the bulk of the play, for I wanted to get across that Chris was far worse of a person than just being arrogant. James in the end lets his anger with Chris subside to the point that he may think that Chris is trying to apologize by offering to get him a drink. In fact, according to The Guttmacher Institute, 45 states allow individual health care providers to refuse to participate in an abortion, and 42 states allow institutions to refuse to perform abortions. In other words, somewhat similar to the opinion of Thomson, an abortion may only be performed if the physician or institute deem the circumstances right. This is where I see the issue with circumstantial permissibility; it subliminally gives more right to certain woman than to others. To explain this idea further one could examine Thomson s first clear point in regards to her argument as well as the underlying theme of her piece, human rights. Miles Dewey Davis III was a musician, composer, arranger, producer and bandleader all in one. Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development in jazz after World War 2. He was one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the twentieth century along with Charlie Parker and Louis Armstrong. His versatility landed him at the forefront of bebop, cool jazz, modal, hard bop and fusion (Kirker, 2005:1). Hard bop was the evolvement and development from bop during the 1950s and 1960s, often regarded as a reaction to the restraint and intellectualism of cool jazz (Kingman, 1990:389). With the installation of the Miles Davis Quintet, Davis picked up where his late forties sessions left off. Eschewing the rhythmic and harmonic complexity of the prevalent bebop, Davis was given space to play long, legato and essentially melodic lines, where he would begin to explore modal music, his lifelong obsession. Modal jazz is a new venture for jazz both harmonically and structurally, it no longer used the chord progressions of standard tunes as the basis for improvisation replaced by a succession of scales on which the performer improvised instead (Kingman, 1990:390). Davis had definitely gone a long way in his trumpet playing since collaborating with Parker. No longer dependant on bebop phrasing, he chose a minimalist approach instead. Ornate phrasing gave way to a smattering of tones. He was also utilizing a Harmon mute, sometimes adding reverb, which had a whisper effect and personalised his sound. Elements of texture and silence between notes were becoming more dominant (Kirker, 2005:2). By 1958, he had freed himself by using modal scales and slower moving harmonies. Milestones portrayed this example as

Revolutions and social movements are very different in several ways and similar in some. Revolutions, they are a necessary change in the political power when people rise up against it. It is a chance for companies along with their marketing team to get creative, to convince the audience that they absolutely need that item to better their lifestyle, in order for them to do that through commercials they have to think about the intended audience. At the beginning, Kohn explains how people can argue about the purpose of education, but then fail to realize and recognize whether or not education has truly been successful. Then, Kohn provides the reader with an example of his wife, a successful physician who completed her study for doctoral dissertation in anthropology from Harvard, yet still lacks some educational basics that people consider necessary factors to possess in order for a person to fit in the defined group of well educated individuals. In The Gift Of The Magi by William Sydney Porter, also known as O.Henry, the couple, Della and Jim James Dillingham Young, each had their own special trait or article of theirs that they prized more than anything else. Della prized her beautiful long brown hair, that had been grown just past her knees. Jim prized his gold watch that had been his grandfather s, then his father s and now his. They find it upon themselves to buy a valuable gift for each other for Christmas, and with only $1.87, Della sells her hair to buy a platinum chain for Jim s watch. That would have worked out well if Jim hadn t sold his watch to buy tortoise shell combs for Della s hair, which she sold. They both liked each other s gift and the thought that was put into it, and although their gifts may not be able to be used at that time, they still shared their love. The theme of the story is, love means sacrifice. When Della had the idea to sell her hair for money to buy Jim s chain, she didn t know that he would sell his watch to buy combs for her hair. She took it upon herself to buy him a valuable gift to show Jim her love for him, and how much she cared for him, enough to sell her most prized possession. Sweatshops generally are factories that provide workers with socially unacceptable working conditions, especially dealing with clothing items. With the expanding apparel industries around the world, more and more corporations are using sweatshop factories to their advantage. Numerous companies claim that they are not responsible for actions of those factories from which they purchase from because it is not part of their corporation. However, action needs to be taken by the government and individual corporations to improve the working conditions in sweatshop factories. Due to the harsh working environment, insufficient pay, and other factors that cause inhumane treatment of workers in sweatshops, the US government should improve working conditions for workers, have stricter regulations on sweatshops, and strive to improve the treatment of sweatshop workers across the globe.
