In each society there is typically a group within each of these categories that benefits from their

Heroes come in all sizes, shapes, genders, and backgrounds. Heroes can be defined by many
different standards and are people of great character, who spend their lives doing what they can

Both Desmarais and Carvier show through context that even though life could change at any
moment when you sit down to a meal the food always seems to bring back memories and be the

Introduction
A key enzyme found in the saliva of humans, alpha amylase, is involved in the early stages of starch
digestion. This type of amylase is classified by its glycosidic bonds and is mainly found in the
bodies of animals. The digestion of starch will begin with the enzyme in saliva and will continue to
break down starch as the food bolus reaches the duodenum (Butterworth et al., 2011). Therefore,
alpha amylase is a significant component in the digestion process and also plays a major role in
energy storage.
Starch is the main source of carbohydrate in the human diet, so it is essential to have an enzyme
that assists in the efficient hydrolysis of starch into sugars. Amylase catalyzes this reaction by
breaking the glycosidic bonds present, which results in maltose, a disaccharide, glucose, and
varying lengths of oligosaccharides with alpha limit dextrins and alpha configurations (Marini, I.
2006). Although the amylase enzyme is abundant from the secretion of the pancreas and salivary
glands, it can also be obtained from different sources such as other mammals, plants, and
microorganisms.

Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegory about the 1902 Russian Revolution that led to the
overthrowing of a corrupt leader, Czar Nicholas II. In the book Animal Farm, Mr. Jones isn t
treating his animals fairly. In 1902, Czar Nicholas II wasn t treating his people equally either.
The novel and the real event can be tied together in many ways, one including having corrupt

In this experiment, we would like to prepare ice cream by using milk, cream, sucrose, stabilizer
and emulsifier. We will prepare ice cream by using two sets of formula. Group B1 and B2 will
add the emulsifier into their ice cream whereas group B3 and B4 do not add any emulsifier into
ice cream. In this experiment, our group (B3) will prepare the ice cream without adding
emulsifier. Therefore, we can study the effect of adding emulsifier on the ice cream. Firstly, we

cream taste too sweet. This is due to imbalance of the ingredients used during ice cream making.
This defects can be overcome by reduce the amount of sucrose used. For defects in body, ice
cream with emulsifier has gummy body. It is an indication of pasty and sticky body. This is
probably due to over stabilization, very high solid content and low overrun. Excessive stabilizer
and sucrose content will contribute to this defect. For the ice cream without emulsifier, it has a
heavy body. It is indication of soggy, doughy and putty like body. The factor causing this defect
is almost same as gummy body which is high total solid, over stabilization and low overrun.
Therefore, we can overcome both defects by reducing amount of stabilizer and sucrose as well as
incorporate more air into ice cream mix during freezing

Have you ever been given the chance to time travel? Well I was so I opened the book and
stepped into the the world fabricated in the pages of the lord of the flies. When my teacher
assigned the novel to my class I couldn t help but think great, another cutesy life lesson for the

Chekhov shows Grisha s death as the first root of Madame Ranevsky s neglect towards her
family. It s just six years since...a month afterwards poor Grisha was drowned...too much for my
mamma; she ran away, ran away without looking back says Anya on page 6. Ranevsky s poor
nurturing habits led to Grisha s death because she wasn t watching him like a mother should.
His death was the excuse that Ranevsky used to leave for Paris for the next five years. Leaving
the orchard to accumulate a large debt that she must pay off when she returns, or lose the
orchard. Madame Ranevsky neglects that she is poor and gives out money, which increases her
debt. She was born an aristocrat and doesn t understand the meaning of how money was earned.
Her brother, on page 13, describes it as scattering the money . But yet he makes no attempt to
stop her spending. Anya says, She s already sold her villa near Mentone; she s nothing
left...mother s got a footman now, Yasha; we ve brought him here. (Chekhov 5). This quote gives
us insight on how malicious her spending habits are. She hires unnecessary help that she can t
afford. She herself says, I had a lot of money yesterday...I go squandering aimlessly. [Drops the
purse, scattering gold coins] There, I ve dropped it all! (Chekhov 19). The scattering of the coins

Cystic fibrosis is described as a congenital disorder affecting exocrine gland function, with
respiratory effects, including excessive secretions, obstruction of the bronchial system, infection,
and tissue damage (Kowalczyk, 2014). Cystic fibrosis is also known as CF, and is the most
common lethal disease in white children (Kowalczyk, 2014).
People whom have CF have histologically normal lungs at birth. Lung damage occurs when
secretions from the enlarged bronchial glands gradually increase; this leads to the obstruction of
the bronchial system (Kowalczyk, 2014). Mucus clogs the airways and this plugging promotes
infection such as staph which causes more tissue damage; it also causes atelectasis and emphysema.
Once this destructive cycle starts, it is very difficult to stop and ultimately results in respiratory
failure (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Doctors will follow the diseases progression by chest x ray;
it will show the gradual worsening of structural abnormalities (Kowalczyk, 2014). CF does not just
affect the respiratory system, but also affects the exocrine system. Parts of the exocrine system
affected are salivary glands, the small bowel, pancreas, biliary tract, a female s cervix, and the
male genital system (Kowalczyk, 2014). The mucus in the pancreas stops the release of digestive
enzymes; these digestive enzymes are imperative for the body to break down food and absorb
