India and Pakistan Dispute This dispute dates back to the partition of the British Indian Empire, in
August 1947, into two independent states, Pakistan and India. At that time there were also around
565 princely states, large and small, which were under British suzerainty but were not directly ruled
by the British Government. Most of these states joined either India or Pakistan taking into account
their contiguity to one or the other country and the wishes of their people.

the Hindu ruler was likely to succumb to Indian pressure, the people of Jammu and Kashmir rose
against him, forcing him to flee from Srinagar, the capital of the State. They formed their own
government on 24th October, 1947. On 27th of October, 1947, the Government of India alleged
that the ruler had acceded to India on the basis of a fraudulent instrument of accession, sent its

But Indian leaders, including Jawahar lal Nehru, the Prime Minister and Lord Mountbatten, the
then Governor General of India, solemnly declared that the final status of Jammu and Kashmir
would be decided by the people of the State. This declaration was reiterated by India at the UN
Security Council when the dispute was referred to that august body, under chapter 6 of the U.N

President Jackson s Domestic affairs during his first term were extremely impactful to the United
States. During his campaign, he was extremely vague about his plans for reform. Jackson s first
order of business was to clear out the government offices and assign them to supports of himself
and the members of the Democratic party. This is known as the Spoils System. After Jackson
charged the Adams Bureaucracy with fraud, he decided that keeping the officials would be foolish.
He claimed that he was purging corruption and was offering jobs to citizens through a rotation of

5. Case Woods V. Kansas
Defendant Hankins filed a motion to correct an illegal sentence on appeal after pleading guilty to
felony charges because he argued a Kansas trial court wrongfully considered a deferred judgment
from Oklahoma in his sentencing calculation. The State argued that Kansas law required such
deferred judgments from other states to be included in sentencing determinations. The Supreme
Court of Kansas disagreed with the Court of Appeals dismissal of Hankins motion, finding that
there was a discrepancy between Kansas and Oklahoma s statutory standards for an entry of a
judgment of guilt. Under Kansas law, the Court concluded, a conviction requires a judgment of
guilt. However, under Oklahoma law, an entry of judgment will not be entered for an offender who
successfully completes a deferred judgment. The initial conditions are to be imposed without
entering a judgment of guilt. Therefore, the Court found that no... Show more content on

6. The Role Of Normative And Non Normative. Normative
I find it hard to imagine what my life will become in the future. As people age, they move into
different social roles that provides them with multiple identities. These transitions that we go
through tend to be linked with age, in the sense that as a society we expect something called age
norms which refers to the idea that there are appropriate ages for making these various life
course transitions. There are two types of transitions, normative and non normative. Normative
is when something happens that is expected like starting to drive or having a high school
graduation, where non normative is unexpected such as death or winning the lottery.
Throughout this paper I will focus on what I want my future to look like, and I will look at what
I can currently do to help make this happen. I will also look at my past transitions in life to show
what has led me to be the person that I am today. While I find it hard to think about my future, I
do know that I want to live a healthy, active and meaningful life until the day that I die. While
our life course can be unpredictable, we can still set goals that we want to accomplish. I already
know that my central sources of meaning will be my family and friends. When you age, having
interpersonal relationships like family and friends is key to happiness and having meaning in
life. Normality will also be something I will still want to be seen as a normal person, even though I
have aged a bit. They way that we perceive young and old is

7. Feminism In Othello Essay
Many males think it was okay to mistreat their wives, sisters, daughters, and even mothers. And
during the 16th century this was seen as a way of life, something normal and acceptable to do.
Not many people at this time would stand up for the rights of female, as it was seen as rude and
just not right to stand up for a woman s life. During this time, books and plays were a great source
for us to understand the mindset of many people, and if they supported or pushed an equal society.
When reading Othello, By William Shakespeare, In the play the reader can see that he was not a
sexist: the main three females in the play were seen as important and contributed tremendously
towards the plot of the play. The readers see Shakespeare pushing the ideology of men and
women being equal with the slow occurrence of many plots towards the play, and how it all
unravels itself. These were proven in the play by when; women s voices and opinions being
suppressed, men being able to hold females as property, the double standard of males and females.
With these three the reader is able to see shakespeare bringing to light many issues that females
dealt in the 16th century. He tries to wake the people of the 16th century, with messages in his
plays for people to learn and understand the other side of the story. While the readers understand
the play, they feel suspense building, for Othello to ask his wife if what Iagospeaks is true. Othello

Abstract: Electronic mail is quickly becoming the most prevalent method of communication in the
world. However, e mail systems in corporate, institutional, and commercial environments are all
potential targets of monitoring, surveillance and ultimately, censorship.
Electronic mail is a phenomenon that has begun to pervade all aspects of our lives today. We use
e mail in our personal lives, at our schools, at our jobs, and everywhere in between. However,
very few of us consider the fact that even though our e mail is composed by the sender, and is

For approximately three thousand years, smallpox has ravaged and plagued the four corners of the
globe. In fact, in the 17 th and 18 th centuries, it was claimed to be the most infectious disease in
the West, with an astounding 90% mortality rate in America. It wasn t until 1796, with English
surgeon Edward Jenner s smallpoxvaccination, that the world saw relief from this devastating virus.
However, even with this inoculation in use, the world continued to witness death from both the
virus and the vaccine. In the year 1966, it was estimated that 10 15 million infected citizens world

Being a highly contagious, deadly and airborne virus, it would be virtually impossible to
completely eradicate smallpox. Peter Jahrling, the scientist that discovered the deadly Ebola
Reston virus, once stated, If you really believe there s a bioterrorist threat out there, then you can
t get rid of smallpox. If smallpox is outlawed, only outlaws will have smallpox ( Preston 4). To
date, only Russia and the United States have clearance to maintain the smallpox virus in two
selected laboratories. Enforced by the W.H.O, this was mandated to ensure that the virus cultures
could be heavily monitored and researched to prevent future outbreaks. Unfortunately, the power
that is associated with having access to a virus as devastating as smallpox is often interwoven with
greed. For example, in 1991, British inspectors discovered that the Russian government had been
testing bio nuclear weapons using smallpox in an unauthorized base ( Preston 6). Since smallpox
can be used as a powerful weapon, there is no way to determine what country may try to obtain it.
Additionally, even if a country was highly suspected of testing the virus for warfare, it would be
difficult to prove that the country actually had virus cultures. During that same inspection in
Russia, for instance, the head of the base that was testing this virus denied any association with the

We suggest a Profile based personalized web search framework UPS (User customizable Privacy

utility and privacy risk, with its NP hardness proved we formulate the problem of Profile based
personalized search as Risk Profile Generalization.
With the help of two greedy algorithms, namely GreedyIL and GreedyDP, we generate the expected
search result, greedy algorithms support runtime profiling. While the former tries to maximize the
discriminating power (DP), the latter attempts to minimize the in formation loss (IL). By exploiting
a number of heuristics, GreedyIL outperforms GreedyDP significantly.
For the client to decide whether to personalize a query in UPS we provide an inexpensive
mechanism. Before each runtime profiling this decision can be made to improve the stability of the

same, whether it be an animal or a human. The poem is also told in two point of views; the girl s
point of view and then the pigeon s point of view. I could not find many rhetorical terms in the
poem except one. I also feel like Middleton is somehow trying to compare the fragile woman
with a pigeon, or he is trying to make a reference to how sometimes girls can seem small or
flightful like birds. Imagery was the only rhetorical term that I found in the poem, and it was in the
quotes, a thigh or hip bone was not working right, and she still held the other by the hand...she was
thin, she limped. The quote brought out the image of a young lady walking

14. The Expectations For A Nursing Home
Nursing homes are places where people go who either can no longer care for themselves or
never were really able to without special professional care. With this being said, the expectations
for nursing homes are set high because no one wants their loved one to be left alone in a place far
from home that isn t healthy for them. My visit to The Renaissance wasn t at all like I expected it
to be. The expectations for a nursing homeshould be clean, in a safe and quiet area, and also I
think it should have the some of the best nurses working for them. As I was walking outside
looking at the building before I walked in I can tell that everything is very well kept to maintain
a good appearance to the outsiders. Then I walked in to speak with the receptionist for the
visitors pass, the lobby looked very nice, the smell was amazing, and everything was very
organized and clean. There was only one flaw about the lobby; the receptionist was on the phone
the whole time I was trying to speak to her about the work there. Usually, there s an exception
when the lady behind the desk answers the phone for a customer but she obviously had to have
been speaking with a friend or family member because of the way she spoke to them. This was
extremely rude and inappropriate.
I received my visitor s pass and made my way to the other door to where everyone is. The first
thing the hits you when your open the door is the smell. This smell was very bad; it was a smell of
urine and bowel movements.

15. Theories And Evidence On Face Recognition
Do new borns have the ability to detect faces? Discuss with reference to theories and evidence on
face recognition in infancy .
In order to understand reality, a series of processes and interpretations are necessary to make sense
of the world to any individual. Not only interpretation but also the arrangement of information
received from our senses is a must to create inside representations of the external world.
This essay seeks to explore if new borns can detect faces, pointing out theory s strengths and
weaknesses, consequently discussing previous research in order to expose evidence of babies face
s recognition abilities. This said, according to Macknik and Martinez Conde (2014), Most of
what we see is a confabulation of our brain: it makes stuff up based on the sparse data it gets from
our eyes .
In other words, individuals do not perceive reality but in what manner their brain understands it.
In the early 1900s, Gestalt psychologists (such as Wertheimer), tried to explain the ideologies
behind the understanding of sensations received in a sensory manner (Gross, 2015). Their main
argument was that every individual is born able to perceive the world in specific ways, with no or
little learning; that to make sense of reality, individuals had to perceive objects as being separated
from other stimuli (seen as a whole) and once a differentiation between the figure and the ground
was made, it then became possible to organise the

Market Structure: The coffee industry is an extremely competitive one. However, the market
structure of the coffee industry and specifically the coffee bean industry that provides the raw
materials for Yuban could be described as an oligopoly. The specific characteristics of this
oligopoly are, however, more reminiscent of a cartel because a relatively small number of suppliers
control the supply and distribution of coffee beans globally (Igami, 2011). Consequently, Yuban,
which is a brand within the Kraft Foods umbrella, has limited choice in selecting its supplies. The
coffee bean industry was controlled officially through a cartel structure until 1989 under the
International Coffee Agreement or ICA but thereafter market competition with new entrants such as
Vietnam eroded the control of this official cartel organization (Igami, 2011). Yet, because coffee
bean production is largely limited to certain geographic regions, these countries governments
express a great deal of control over which entities control production and distribution.
Competitive Barriers: There are a number of significant competitive barriers within the coffee bean
and coffee grind industry. While virtually any firm can purchase the raw materials or even the
finished product in the form of ground coffee, the packaging and distribution of the product is a
much more sophisticated endeavor. The most significant

17. Effective Communication And Its Impact On The World
In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most beneficent.
Leadership is the art of directing individuals and workers towards a proverbial point C in the
distance. The success of reaching the destination is highly contingent upon the ability of leadership
to communicate. As Muslims, we need to look no further than the Quran. We are shown examples
of effective communication by Prophets and shown conviction of those who follow the divine
message. However, a great example of such communication hinges on the success demonstrated by
an insect as tiny as 1 millimeter in size; the ant. The ant, which by no coincidence is the 27th Surah
in the Quran, is the epitome of effective communication and organization. Ant colonies consist of 3

The ability of the leadership to clearly communicate these objectives can mean the difference
between a successful organization and one that remains stagnant. However this can only be
conveyed effectively if the given mission and vision are clear.
An ambiguous mission and vision set leadership portrays several qualities of inadequate
leadership; 1) lack of clarity of the end goal causes leadership and management to head in any
direction they see fit. Often times the chosen direction chosen by one leader of an organization
will be contradictory to direction of other leaders causing inefficiency and internal strife in the
organization. In the event leadership is turned over, the lack of clarity is magnified, as the direction
is often arbitrarily changed per the whim and desires of the new leadership. This type of direction
shift is prevalent in religious establishments and organizations which elect members from the
constituency. Leaders are put in place without proper understanding of the direction or goals. This
concoction of leaders changes direction and scope with ease and regardless of the consequences. As
a result, lack of motivation of the more experienced can ensue. To further complicate management,
many of these disgruntled will choose to simply leave the organization. This effectively removes
the efficient, yet critical, member and retains the sub par;

As the reduction of the Humanities department begins to arise, many students lives are severely

the Humanities departments. Though many individuals might contradict that reducing humanities
may be a beneficial act for some, In my opinion it should not be lessened primarily because it can
lead to malevolent mishaps. Decreasing humanitieswill result in excessive unemployment rates,

Lastly, many students will not be able to afford paying for the expenses. In the article it states,
Technology executives, researchers and business leaders argue that producing enough trained
engineers and scientists is essential to America s economic vitality, national defense and health
care, (Cohen 22 ). This shows that with the reduction of humanities there will be more engineers
but less scientists. Humanities study can make better scientists because it teaches you how to
think in a creative way also in a critical one and to ask questions. These skills are helpful to gain
a better understanding and scientists question everything and prove it by experimenting. Reading
the great literary and philosophical works and coming to grips with the question of what is living
for may become a great luxury that many cannot afford, (Cohen 24). Without being able to afford
for it many people can t get the education they should receive. In my opinion if the scholars begin
to lose interest in their occupation they will major in anything to achieve their career and grasp a

To conclude, without Humanities the courses are elongated and students won t be able to achieve a

If we say pavers , and you think of bricks, you are in for a surprise. Pavers are a huge part of our
hardscapes, and there are enough different types to warrant a whole page.
NATURAL STONE PAVERS: These may be limestone, flagstone, or shale. For more exquisite
tastes, consider marble, travertine, or granite.
CULTURED STONE PAVERS: If you desire the look of expensive stone but would rather avoid
the price tag, or simply don t want to have the weight of the real stone to deal with, consider using
cultured pavers. These manufactured replicas are just as durable, lighter, and less expensive.
Choices then break into the following groupings. Some categories consist of natural and cultured

INTERLOCKING CONCRETE PAVERS: This style is another permeable paver, and they lock
together for a good, tight fit. These make beautiful patios, walkways, and driveways. Some are
standard shaped, but others are special shapes which interlock in beautiful patterns. The standout,
defining feature of these pavers is that they give a solid appearance. The materials, however, allow
water to seep through. This advantage is not found with all types of pavers, and sometimes this is
the reason to opt for this type of paver.
BRICK PAVERS: These kiln fired blocks are one of the most common types of building materials

and there are millions of homes around the country with bricks in the patio or walkway. They are
durable.
GRASS PAVERS: These pavers are an amazing technological feat. The purpose of these pavers is
to manage the rainwater, and allow it to move back into the ground while keeping the ground
stable and solid. They are beautiful as well, and can almost be an art form of their own. The
geometric shapes can be complex, or quite simple, but all are a beautiful way to enhance your

first step for me to take is going to an automotive technician school. I found a few places such as
UTI (Universal Technician Institute), and Wyotech University which are both great places to get

I will be going to their main school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Once I m there I will take a racing
technician class which is around 15 weeks long, and that puts me right into the seat of racing.
After researching some more I found out that if I am in the top 5 students of the racing program,
I get the opportunity to be picked up and hired by an actual racing company such as Porsche,
Ford, Mercedes, Chevrolet and maybe even McLaren, and get to work for them which would be
an honor. But even to get that opportunity I have to start somewhere, and I feel like UTI is a
good place for me to start. At UTI the learning environment looks like a collage campus from the
outside, but on the inside it is one big garage full of all types of cars. The teachers are all certified
automotive technicians and master mechanics; they will teach me everything I will need to know.

Next, secure attachments are a mental process that create loving relationships.
Secure parent to child attachments can be created on the foundation of love. Love means so many
different things, and shown in so many different ways. Love is sacrifice, selflessness, respect, and
kindness. It is definitely shown in a secure relationship between parents and children throughout all
milestones as they develop. There is something so special between the love of a parent and child. A
quote by Burmenskaya, proves this statement, Attachment keeps its role as an active mental
mechanism in creating interpersonal relations, including friendship, love and family relations
(Burmenskaya 389). Attachments can also create success when parents help their children form self
worth, empathy, and autonomy first at birth, and can continue as they grow. Burmenskaya s article
continues to expound on the idea that parents need to create an attachment not just from the time
their child is born, but as he/she continues to grow, because this influences the child s personality.
For example, We saw the advantage of attachment system in the fact that psychological education
integrates the experience of the child s close interactions beginning from infancy in a concentrated

An authoritarian Monarchy is a form of government in which the leader has absolute power.
Under Sui Huangdi China had an authoritative monarchy. He was hated by scholars for his book

(Beck, pg. 157). The Tribal assembly organized by the plebeians elected the tribunes and made
laws for common people (Beck, pg. 157). In times of crisis a dictator would be elected and he
had absolute power over laws and the army (Beck, pg. 157). Their rule lasted only six months
(Beck, pg. 157). Dictators where chosen by the consuls and elected by the senate (Beck, pg.

it took away the people?s freedom. An advantage of a benevolent monarchy/tyrant is that the
people would not rebel because they were treated fairly. An advantage of theocracy in Israel was
that people did not commit crimes a lot because doing so would violate their religion. One of the
problems with this government is that the leader could have too much power. That could lead to

32. Diverse Characters In Cassandra Clare s The Shadowhunter...
Cassandra Clare s works, The Shadowhunter Chronicles, are full of diverse characters, and for
various reasons. One reason being that she believes it is important for novels to have all different
kinds of characters to reflect the world around us; because the world is diverse, the book she
writes must also be diverse. She strives to create relatable characters so that readers of any sexual
orientation, race, or gender are able to identify with her works. For example, Clare s choice of
writing her main character as a young female was made because she would have wanted to read
that as a teenager. Every character is created in order to give people, especially those who are not as
represented in the media, someone to look up to or relate to. Cassandra Clarecreates an important
series for teenagers to read as they begin to discover who they are; the inclusion of racially diverse,
LGBTQ+, and mentally disabled characters in Clare s The Mortal Instrumentsand The Dark
Artifices gives young readers a variety of different characters so that any reader can see themselves
in the novels.
First and foremost, I would like to emphasize how important it is to have representation in young
adult novels. A large part of the reason that teenagers read books is to read about someone that
they can relate to. Being able to read about a character who has a lot in common with the reader
helps the reader to not only feel connected to the book and its characters, but also to feel as if
someone is

33. Sonnet X By John Donne Analysis
Socrates once said: [...]For anything that men can tell, death may be the greatest good that can
happen to them: but they fear it as if they knew quite well that it was the greatest of evils. And
what is this but that shameful ignorance of thinking that we know what we do not know? ( Socrates
) Sonnet X by John Donnediscusses the idea that people fear deathwithout just cause, simply
because humans are terrified of that which they cannot comprehend. In his poem, Donne
communicates this messages by means of conceit, personification, and witty wordplay.
Donne is known for writing metaphysical poetry; his writing included lots of conceits, and Sonnet
X is no exception. The metaphysical conceit featured in this poem compares death to sleep. From
rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be, / Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
(Donne. Lines 5 6) This couplet articulates that, because death is merely a stronger, much more
permanent version of sleep, it should not be feared; if sleep is pleasurable, then why should
death not be viewed similarly? After all, as Donne continues in lines 11 and 12, sleep induced
by drugs such as opium, which is derived from poppies, and charms can provide rest akin to or
even better than death. So why then, the speaker asks in line 12, is Death so prideful? The
following mention of sleep takes a religious angle; One short sleep past, we wake eternally (Line
13) refers to the interim between a person s death and Judgement Day, when the soul proceeds to
Heaven to live eternally, provided the person lived a righteous lifestyle. Thus, this line means that
death is not the end, per se, but rather the beginning of eternal life in Heaven. While Donne was
not the first to compare death and sleep, this conceit helps communicate that death should not be
feared, for it is much the same as sleep, and marks the beginning of one s eternal stay in the Pearly
Gates.
Wordplay and wit are abundant in Sonnet X; in several instances, the word death is used in three
different ways in the same line! The poem is an apostrophe, the speaker is directing his words at
Death, so obviously, there is personification throughout. This, along with metaphors and other
figures of speech, allows

34. Improving The Communication Within An Elementary School...
Abstract The purpose of the current study is to better understand how an effective public relations
plan can improve the communication within an elementary school setting. In this study, a public
relations plan was created for Mater Academy Elementary Charter School to integrate current
understanding of how public relationstheory and its impact on the effectiveness of overall
communication. Communication is a steam or flow of information including verbal and non verbal
impressions. Effective communication is essential in maintaining and enriching the positive
working relationships between the faculty/staff, parents, students, and community members of
Mater Academy Elementary School. Mater Academy s written communication plan clarifies and
supports the school s mission, beliefs, and priorities. Also, it is used to effectively monitor and
evaluate the effectiveness of Mater Academy s communication measures, improve outreach
opportunities in the school community, and broaden the school s support base. Providing adequate
and appropriate channels of communication between the school and the home ensures that students,
parents and educators understand the expectations of the school and lessens the likelihood of
misunderstandings.

35. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Spectrum Sensing
Abstract The constrained available spectrum and the incompetence in the spectrum utilization and
administration require another correspondence innovation and communication technology..
Spectrum sensing is used to detect the (unlicensed) the unused (licensed) frequency bands.
Spectrum sensing includes locating the usage of spectrum and their features across different
dimensions such as code frequency ,time and space. The key features of CR system is that it senses
the electromagnetic environment to use their operation and dynamically vary its radio operating
parameters. With the likely transition of radio communications from static to dynamic spectrum
access in the near future, spectrum sensing has become an interesting area of research. Even though
many signal detection methods have a long history, economical implementations of consumer
devices employing spectrum sensing are still missing. In this research an overview of current state
of the art spectrum sensing methods, limited to the binary decision of channel occupancy is
presented. Existing methods are categorized into energy detector, cyclostationary and matched filter
methods. A concise introduction and theoretical background of various spectrum sensing methods

37. Islm Curve
Understanding Equilibrium in the IS/LM Model 1995 version Prof. Humberto Barreto1
Introduction: This brief work is designed to provide additional ammunition for the student in the
ongoing war against IS/LM confusion and ignorance. The author has claimed in his Notes on
Macroeconomic Theory (1995) that, There should be no mystery or uncertainty surrounding the IS
/LM analysis at this point. IS/LM curves are simply a short cut to finding the equilibrium values for
income and interest rate. There are two equations and two unknownsГ‘what simpler strategy than to
put them on one graph could be devised? (p. 52) The author still worries, however, that the student
is memorizing the equilibrium condition, IS=LM generates Ye, without really... Show more content

The student should see that the existing values of i and Y will have a tendency to change. The
interest rate will fall because there is a shortage of bonds and as the price of bonds rises to drive
the bond market to equilibrium, the interest rate will fall. The equilibrium interest rate, of course,
will be found at the intersection of the Ms and Md schedules. Output will increase because a
falling interest rate will trigger higher investment expenditures by firms. The increased I will
increase AD and, therefore, Ye will increase. But then the higher income will shift money demand
up, which will increase the equilibrium interest rate, and the same chain will be triggered leading
to a decrease in the equilibrium level of output. The student undoubtedly knows that, eventually,
after running through a series of converging loops, the system will settle into a mutually
compatible, or general equilibrium, combination of i and Y. If you think the iteration process is a
messy and cumbersome means of calculating the general equilibrium, or final, resting place of i
and Y, you should applaud the use of the IS/LM graph. In one quick graph, we can immediately
and easily see the system s general equilibrium solution. From our initial i0, Y0 combination, the
IS/LM graph allows us to instantly see the final solution and to predict a decrease in interest rates
and increase in output. However, a drawback is that it does not show how or why

There have been many animated movies that were very popular during the 1940 s and 50 s. Some
are still watched and have been recreated in today s times: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,
Pinocchio, and Dumbo. Although not the first animated movie to be created, Fantasia (1940) was
the first movie to connect classical music with animations. Directed by James Algar and released in
1940, this movie was the first of its kind, using classical music and creating scenes with animations
around that music or vice versa. This movie contains eight musical segments all narrated by Deems

were over 700 animators that worked closely with director, James Algar to make sure every

41. Mirrors by Sylvia Plath
13th March, 2014 In the poem Mirrors , by Sylvia Plath the speaker accentuates the importance
of looks as an aging woman brawls with her inner and outward appearance. Employing an
instance of self refection, the speaker shifts to a lake and describes the discrepancies between
inevitable old age and zealous youth. By means of sight and personification, shifts and
metaphors, the orator initiates the change in appearance which relies on an individual s decision
to embrace and reject it. The author applies sight and personification to accentuate the mirror s
roles. The declaimer of the poem says I am silver and exact [and] whatever I see I swallow (1, 20).

According to Tomei, SylviaPlath is subject to depression just like her father (1213). Possibly
hereditary, she detaches herself from everyone due to her immense discomfort and displeasure.
Moreover, she imprints her feelings and memories in her poems as witnessed in the poem Mirrors .
Plath initiates her child hood in the narrative when she meditates on the opposite wall in her
room (6). Although a mirror is personified in the poem, it signifies Plath s nature as an
individual. As lonely as widow, she reposes against the wall, gazes at the divider and muses
about her life. This can be due to the fact that Plath felt it was her fault her father died (Freedman
159). Thus, she translates her experiences into a poem and transmutes it literary denotation to
figurative language. To conclude, everything happens for a reason and life teaches great lessons.
As detected from the shift in the poem, Plath utilizes symbols in nature to delineate her view on
the world. Situated in the criticism of Giles, Plath creates images of great sound and beauty... as
the sea is second only to the moon as one of her favorite symbols (2597). As witnessed in the
sonnet, the candles and the moon are viewed as liars; however, they are distinguished as her
favorite symbols. Since society and individuals represent these symbols, Plath conveys the deceitful
nature of people in the word. Subsequently, she turns to them

42. Critical Review Of Analytical Frameworks
In the past decade, language memoirs, linguistic autobiographies, and learners journals and
diaries have become a popular means of data collection in applied linguistics. It is not always clear
however how one should go about analyzing this data. The aim of this paper is to offer a critical
review of analytical frameworks applied to how one languageautobiography can say a lot about one
person s past experiences and shapes them into who they are today. I will discuss the dialect, both
geographical environment and social factors, and associates within through developing, using and
changing an idiolect which constitutes part of a persona and self identity of these frameworks in
relation to the type of information they seek: subject reality, life reality, and text reality. I argue that
some analytical results, in particular content from academic journals, are insensitive to the
interpretive nature of autobiographic data. Subsequently, I will talk about my idiolect that is a
collection of features of vocabulary development through parent child directed speech,
neighborhood and the Hawaiian Island Voices, textism behavior with school children and academic
attainment, depression and its effect on language, and gaining identity through second language
learning.
Language is acquired through steps, and is a gradual, lengthy process, and one that involves a lot
of apparent errors . Those who strive to own cultural and linguistic competence and to live it are on

My choice of the movie 12 Years a Slave is an outstanding depiction of the lives of slaves in the
1840 s. This film follows the gruesome life of Solomon Northup. A black man born free in
Saratoga, New York. Who was fooled, poisoned, and abducted by men who sold him into

Northup, a Citizen of New York, Kidnapped in Washington City in 1841, and Rescued in 1853,
From a Cotton Plantation Near the Red River, in Louisiana.
The accuracy of the film was spot on. It depicted all the horrors and history of slavery very well. In
fact Dr. Emily West, an associate professor of history at the University of Reading supports my
statement when she states I have never seen a film represent slavery so accurately. It portrayed
