Essay Novel
Writing an essay on the topic of an "Essay Novel" presents a unique challenge. The combination
of these two literary forms requires a delicate balance between creative expression and scholarly
analysis. Crafting an essay novel involves seamlessly integrating the traditional structure and
argumentative elements of an essay with the narrative and imaginative qualities of a novel.
Firstly, defining the boundaries of this hybrid genre poses a challenge. The essay aspect demands
a clear thesis, logical organization, and supporting evidence, while the novel component calls for
engaging characters, a compelling plot, and a well-developed setting. Striking the right
equilibrium between these elements is a tightrope walk that demands careful consideration and
skillful execution.
Moreover, the process of seamlessly interweaving critical analysis within the narrative framework
can be daunting. It requires a deep understanding of the chosen topic, as well as the ability to
embed insights and interpretations seamlessly into the storyline without compromising the flow
of the narrative. This dual nature demands a high level of creativity and academic rigor, making
the task complex and intellectually demanding.
Additionally, maintaining a consistent tone and voice throughout the essay novel is crucial.
Balancing the formality required in an academic essay with the creative flair of a novel requires a
nuanced approach. The language must be sophisticated and polished when presenting arguments,
yet fluid and expressive when narrating the fictional elements.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of an "Essay Novel" is an intricate task that
necessitates a harmonious fusion of analytical prowess and creative storytelling. Navigating the
intersection of these two distinct genres requires a writer to be adept at both academic writing
and narrative composition. Successfully marrying these elements results in a piece that not only
conveys a persuasive argument but also captivates the reader through a compelling narrative.
For those seeking assistance with such complex writing endeavors, various resources are
available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer the opportunity to order essays, including unique
and challenging topics like the one discussed here. These platforms provide a valuable support

Living in a World with Danger and Killing
We live in a world, where war is a constant danger and is a recurring issue in our
lives. Death and violence are constant topics of discussion throughout the media
and most Americans have grown accustomed to hearing about these issues on a
daily basis. It seems that the reaching ideal of global peace is an impossible feat
and that justice will never be reached. Nations throughout the world have made the
promise We will never fight again on numerous occasions, yet the world is still
afflicted with wars, mass killings and political turmoil. As citizens of a world
population we have become too consumed with the pursuit of wealth and power and
the lofty ideals of world unity have fallen by the wayside.
Globally, almost everyone would prefer to live in a world of peace. Peace may
seem to be a simple world, but in reality it is a difficult concept to comprehend and
has proven to be an insurmountable problem. Historically, there have been several
attempts at creating international bodies to promote peace, but none have been
effective. In many instances throughout history disastrous calamities could have been
avoided, but for a lack of a competent international lawmaking body. The mass
killings that occurred in Rwanda are a perfect example of a failure of an international
lawmaking body. In this case, the United Nations had extremely accurate information
about what was occurring in Rwanda, but they stood by and let the killings of
hundreds of thousands of people take place

1 24: What prepared the founders to create Foursquare?
Both founders had prior experience in the technology field. The prior companies that
Crowley and Selvadurai worked at were closely related to the same business that
Foursquare is today.
1 25: What gaps in the founder s team and resources needed to be filled by outside
sources? Name four specific resources they acquired.
Gaps that needed to be filled were sufficient funding for launching the app, they
needed four different venture capital installments to get the project off the ground,
talent was mostly there in the beginning and the founder experience helped them
recognize the talent they needed. There was also a period of retailer fatigue.
1 26: Identify the features and benefits the founders included in the app to ensure its
popularity. Why were these selected?
One of the biggest benefits and features of Foursquare is that it is a mobile app and
easily accessible from any mobile device. Crowley and Salvadaurai thought it
would be a good idea to build incentives into the app which would potentially
increase usage and improve the user s experience. One incentive was to award
virtual badges for the number or variety of check ins to particular locations visited.
Users were also able to receive discounts and incentives from advertisers when they
check in such as free items. Crowley and Salvadaurai also designed the

Upon research, the statistics below show the impact illegal border crossing has on
Arizona. a)Over the past few years, many families have been faced with
unemployment, while struggling to find steady work. In 2011 8.7% of Arizonans
were officially unemployed, but in the prior year, 9.3% of illegal aliens made up
the workforce. That s 262,587 Arizonans left without jobs and 278,460 illegal
aliens with jobs. b)37% of Arizona s uninsured population contained is illegal

tens of thousand illegal children will be attending public schools all over Arizona,

down Arizona s already struggling education system. Water Shortage As rainfall

Essay on The English Patient
A young Canadian nurse, a Sikh bomb disposal expert, a thief turned spy, and a
man burnt beyond recognition, meet in the last moments of the Second World War.
The identity of the patient is the heart of the story as he tells his memories of a
doomed love affair in the North African desert. Love and passion are set against the
devastation of war in this inspired novel by Canadian writer Michael Ondaatje.
It is a novel of revelation, and just as the identity of the English patient is slowly
revealed as the novel progresses, so are the inner selves and spiritual identities of the
other characters in the novel. Ondaatje writes his novel of discovery revealing things

The term identity
In general we differentiate between two kinds of identity. On the one hand there is
the so called social identity, which stresses self interpretation as a member of a
certain social group and on the other hand there is the personal identity, which puts
itВґs emphasis on individuality and distinctiveness. This distinction is widely known
as patchwork identity . Both identities are only a subgroup of many different
subjectively interpreted identities that everyone of us has innate.
Life is made up of many windows and real life is only one of them.
The question is, which of these identities will I present, which of them will I develop
and how do I realize other personsВґ identities? In the novel The English patient both
of the above mentioned identities can be discovered within all the expressingly
dynamic characters. If we take Hana as a first example we might simply say that
she is a canadian nurse aiding injured soldiers during the second world war. This
statement can be referred to as social identity it is the way Hana behaves within
society. Her personal identity, however, is much more subtile and not that easy,
neither to discover, nor to understand. The same, of course, applies to the other
characters, especially to the English patient, whose rediscovery of identity is the
focus of this novel and mainly dealt with. His story of identical background is told in
flashbacks, as he
College Memes In College
Humor makes it easier to acknowledge a sad truth. When an image, a symbol, a
phrase, or a video is made humorous, it becomes a medium to pass out the
information. The medium can be of various kinds. Some of them are so funny that
makes it horrible to the readers. Some emphasize on contemporary issues to create
cultural mass awareness. And, some are so humorous that it reveals some bitter truth.
Those media are called as memes. There are few examples of such humorous memes
related to college that has been spread rapidly through the online media .Those
memes crave reader s attention towards truth about the students going through in
college in paying for their tuition fees and how it has impacted, especially on the life
of the students from a middle class family.
One of the most popular examples of college meme is SpongeBob meme. With this
particular meme, the author is actually trying to portray the ridiculous expense that
the college students have to pay. Here, a character named Squidward is holding a
bill. The image is a plot from an episode of SpongeBob where a character, Mr.Crab,
who is notoriously greedy and money obsessed, owns a restaurant Krusty Krab .
Mr.Crab, the greedy character, tries to charge Squidward for doing all the activities
like breathing, talking, standing, existing, lollygagging, and chewing in the
restaurant. By showing the particular expense for this activity, the author is trying to
match the context with the expenses of college. The way this meme

Tiberius Claudius Nero Caesar was born in Rome on November 16, 42 BC.
Four years after his birth his mother divorced his father and married Octavian.
Tiberius was a descendant of the Claudian family who moved to Rome shortly after
the foundation of the city. The Claudians did not respect others who were not of
noble ancestry.
After Tiberius was four he was raised to be a loyal servant of Augustus.
Tiberius is associated with Augustus for 22 years. Augustus had Tiberius carefully

Tiberius began to take firm steps against foreign beliefs because he thought they
were a threat to traditional Roman values. He expelled followers of the Egyptian
and Jewish religions from Rome and banished astrologers. Tiberius believed in
astrology himself but probably feared a possible conspiracy inspired by horoscopes.
Tiberius established a central camp for the Praetorian guard in Rome so the
military could be quickly called to put down civilian violence. Civilian riots were
common because of the large population of unemployed that were provided for by
the public dole. Lucius Aelius Sejanus was in charge of these troops and that gave
him an enormous amount of potential power. He aspired to marry Livia Julia,
Tiberius daughter, and worked to increase the emperor s fear and distrust of other
members of his Tiberius family. In AD 26 Tiberius left
Rome and withdrew to Campania, and the following year went to the island of
Capri. Tiberius left Rome under the power of Sejanus. Finally realizing that
Sejanus was trying to seize the imperial power he sent a carefully worded letter to the
senate. The senate read the letter while the unsuspecting Sejanus sat in the senate
chamber. Tiberius bitterly condemned Sejanus. Quick action was then taken to
execute Sejanus and his family. Incidents such as this one gave
Tiberius a bad name with the people of Rome and the senate. Tiberius continued to
rule Rome and the

Purvation Of Leisure Education Observation
Introduction
The TREC 3100 observation assignment was more difficult than I anticipated. I
found mentally and physically draining to concentrate and be energetic each day. It
was also a challenging but a rewarding experience to observe and give feedback to
my classmates. This exercise intrigued me. It was nice to see how facilitators
(students) responded positively to the instructor s observations. I was also impressed
that in all sessions, I observed camaraderie and a great classroom atmosphere.
As a participant, the sessions motivated me to participate and observe the group
dynamics. As an observer, I was equally motivated to provide relevant and accurate
feedback to my peers so that we could all learn from the experience. In this paper, I
will look at and compare two leisure education interventions and highlight the
behavioural observations that have a positive effect on the participant s and the
facilitator s learning experience.
Purpose and Goals of the Intervention
During class, I was a participant in the leisure education program Hooked on a
Feeling! . The purpose of the intervention was to provide an awareness of positive
attitudes towards the benefits of participating in leisure experiences for individuals
living in a long term care facility. I noticed the facilitator was nervous and seemed
uneasy about her presentation. As a participant, this made me feel uncomfortable
because I wanted help.
I noticed there was no pre assessment so I was unable to
Compare And Contrast Homer And Hesiod
Many have deemed Homer and Hesiod the founding fathers of Greek epic poetry
and philosophical writings. Both writers careers flourished around 8th century
B.C, and were immense influences in the world of Greek philosophy. Hesiod
focuses on more traditional origins of life for his stories and ensures that the
creation of the world and its rulers are embodied in his works. Homer has been
considered one of the most influential philosophical writers for centuries by
recognized philosophers. He wrote about principles in battle, governance, counsel,
sports, the home and life in general that the Greeks looked to in praise. While both
of the authors were similar in writing style, they differ vastly in the messages of
their poems. Hesiod s main focus in his poem Theogony was to emphasize the
ways that the world was created by the gods and how the gods fought in order to
maintain a peaceful the universe. Hesiod claims to have written this work under
divine inspiration, suggesting possibly that the gods themselves revealed the story to
him. He highlights the fact that gods act based on morality rather than personal
gain. When they fight for something, it is for the greater good and because it is just
in the eyes of Greek traditions. He composed his most famous poem Theogony
around eighth century B.C, a story within a poem about the birth of the Greek gods.
In the beginning, he claims the very first thing in the universe was chaos, and out of
that earth appeared and gives
Government Of Florida, A State Government Essay
This case study will assess the government of Florida, a state government. It will
touch on several important issues such as providing a general overview of how the
government functions and what resources it provides, as well as some current issues
the State of Florida is facing in government administration. Because the State of
Florida is a state government, it tends to resemble the national government in
composition and organization of their executive branch agencies (Milakovich, 2013,
p. 21).
The work and services provided by the State of Florida include services for
children and families, such as services concerning adoption, child abuse, children
with disabilities, food stamps, and marriage/divorce. They also provide services
involving colleges and universities, courts and corrections, environmental and
wildlife preservation/protection, healthcare administration, highway patrol and
safety, utility regulations, transportation, revenue (taxes), and a host of other
areas. In order to pay for all of the services which they provide, Governor Rick Scott
has created a budget of $78.4 billion for the state of Florida in the 2015 2016 fiscal
year (Scott, 2016, p. 13). This budget also includes the employment of 113,687
people who compromise the total state workforce (Scott, 2016, p. 14).
A crucial role in the State of Florida is the role of citizen participation. Citizen
participation and community engagement play an extremely important part in a

The Family Tree Short Story
The Family Tree
Our story begins in Greece, many years ago. A baby was born in the city of Athens.
Her name was Oakley. Oakley had brown, long hair with big hazel eyes. Her parents
adored her.
Eighteen years passed by and there was a big riot going on in Athens in protest of
Zeus letting Hades capture Persephone. Zeus wanted to teach the citizens of Athens a
lesson by sending them terrible storms. Innocent Oakley didn t know about the
threats from Zeus, but her parents did.
Her parents didn t want Oakley to fear of the storm coming their way, so they didn
t tell her. Her parents also didn t want to leave Athens themselves, they knew they
didn t have the energy to do so. In result, they had to try and get Oakley to move by
herself, without letting her know of the great dangers ahead. Oakley was in her
room, sewing a new blanket for her bed. Her mother called for her to come
downstairs. So of course, she made her way downstairs and saw her parents sitting
on the couch, with a depressed look on their face. What s wrong? said Oakley.
Honey, we have some news for you. We are sending you off to Corfu. said her
mother. Oakleys face turned red. She seemed like she had smoke coming out of
her ears. Are you trying to get rid of me? said Oakley. What did I ever do to you?
Nothing, nothing, said her father. This is for your own safety darling. What is going
on? I m completely happy here in Athens! You must tell me why you are shipping me

SFTY 320: Human Factors in Aviation
On this case it will be discussed the aircraft accident of American Airlines Flight 587.
The aircraft involved was an Airbus 300 605R with a registration N14053 that
occurred on November 12, 2001 in Belle Harbor, New York claimed the lives of 265
people, which consisted of all the members on board, the flight crew and 5 members
in the ground. The aircraft was scheduled to depart from John F. Kennedy
International Airport, Jamaica, New York to Las Americas International Airport,
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic operating under the provisions of the CRF 14
Part 121 with an instrument flight rules flight plan.
The captain of the aircraft was 42 years old at the moment of the accident.
American Airlines hired him in July 1985 holding ATP (Airline Transport
Certificate) and a first class medical certificate with no limitations by the FAA
dated June 5, 2001. The captain, age 42, was hired by American Airlines in July
1985. He held an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate and a Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) first class medical certificate dated June 5, 2001, with no
limitations and had a total of 8050 flying hours. The first officer was 34 years old
at the moment of the fatal accident. He was hired by American Airlines in March
1991 and he holds an ATP and first class medical certificates with a limitation given
to him by the FAA on October 18, 2001. His medical certificate stated that he must
wear correcting lenses and according to the American Airlines 4,403 total flying
hours.
On the flight 587 accident report, it was determined that the aircraft accident
occurred due to the rudder inputs done by the pilot in command, which was the first
officer. With the flight plan established, the aircraft found some wake turbulence
caused by an airliner that has the same flight plan. According to Skybrary (2017)
Wake Vortex Turbulence is defined as turbulence which is generated by the passage
of an aircraft in flight. It will be generated from the point when the nose landing
Politics Is Fueled By Corruption
Politics is fueled by corruption. It causes government involved citizens to over use
their power into manipulating others to achieve what they want. In All the King s
Men, written by Robert Pen Warren, Warren distributes politics to show how
Willie Stark transformed. His character gradually deteriorates as a person
throughout the political novel leading up to his death. Warren writes to exemplify
politics and how it ruined lives of well rounded people. Warren demonstrates the
role of politics as evil because he wants to prove the corrupted doings of politics.
Novel, All the King s Men, Willie Stark is slowly, but thoroughly corrupted by
multiple political instances that ultimately lead to his death. Politics has a life of
its own. Before anyone ponders the idea of entering politics, people should know
their life as a kind, average citizen will fly out the door. Willie Stark was an old
farm boy who had a life of work. The town loved him as a person; he was kind and
courteous to all of the citizens. Before he had the idea of running for governor, he
had what he believed to be the truth set on his mind. He wanted to make a change to
his home town, Mason City, and he wanted there to be truth in the government. His
plans were meant for good, not evil. In All the King s Men, Warren wrote Stark s
opinion, Man is conceived in sin and born in corruption, and he passeth from the

Essay on Psalm 27
Psalm 27
Psalm twenty seven was superscribed before being anointed . It indicates when it
was made, which was before David was anointed king over all of Israel. David is
showing his gratitude for the salvation and the elevation received through God s
protection and showing his devotion to the Lord through this Psalm. In it he makes
the request to be permitted to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life.
He expresses how much God means to him by worshiping Him with all his heart and
soul (Makrakis, 161).
It is a prayer of Praise from David that expresses his confidence in the Lord, followed
by a description of how God will protect him from his enemies. Because he is a

David was so thankful that the Lord loved him, and that is what kept him from
giving up. He had so much faith even through the tough times, and because of that
God blessed him a great deal. In the second verse, David says, When evil doers
drew night unto me to eat my flesh, my oppressors and mine enemies themselves
weakened and fell. By evildoers, enemies, and oppressors he means Saul s party.
They fell dead and became weak in the war against the Philistines. God forsook the
people trying to persecute David, because they have forsaken God (Makrakis, 161
162). His enemies could never do him harm, because time and time again the Lord
delivered him. David took his stand trusting on the highlands of faith, and because
of that God always had His angels guarding David. David continues his prayer by
saying, Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though
war shall rise against me, in this I will be confident. In other words, In spite of this
I am trustful. David was sure that he was on victory s side, because Samuel had
anointed him king. God had promised him the throne; therefore, Saul and his army
could not prevent him from sitting on the throne. His future was in good hands; it
was in God s hands. David was not afraid to make requests to the Lord, because he
knew that God would grant him his requests. He presented this request, One thing I

Thomas Cranmer s Presence In The Eucharist
It has been widely contended that Thomas Cranmer s thoughts on the presence of
Christ in the Eucharist had wavered throughout his time as a theologian, and that his
writings are somewhat ambiguous when it comes to addressing this important
theological topic. Many academics agree that Cranmer is not overly notable for his
clarity in writing and concede that this ambiguity, especially on writings of the
presence in the Eucharist, is due to the long and uneven evolution of his
understanding of the presence. According to Daniel Marrs, a biographer was once
quoted in saying that Cranmer was a man of liberal sympathies and a man of
extraordinary charm and goes on to say that Cranmer s abilities as a leader was
questionable at best because Cranmer s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He still felt that the presence of Christ was within the Eucharist, and conceded his
reluctance to admit to transubstantiation in a letter to Thomas Cromwell. In the letter,
Cranmer admitted that he found the anti transubstantiation writings of Adam
Damplip to be quite compelling. This was quite a position for Cranmer to take,
considering he was at one time so fervent in his position on transubstantiation that
he was responsible for eleven of the executions of people who refuted the belief in
the real blood and body presence of Christ in the Eucharist. In Cranmer s True and
Catholick Doctrine of the Sacrament Cranmer describes a spiritual presence of
Christ in the Eucharist. This moved away from the Zwinglian theory of
memorialism (which Cranmer did explore briefly) and was more cohesive with
the Calvinist view. He says that those who worthily eat and drink of the bread and
wine receive his spirit within the sacrament. He determined that there was a two
fold presence of Jesus Christ within the Eucharist and described the figurative
presence that occurs when the consecrator repeats the words of Christ at the last
supper to remind us of Christ s sacrifice and that the spiritual presence exists for
those who worthily eat and drink. In the prayer book of 1549 we are permitted a
glimpse of the real presence and spiritual presence debate that was
Poverty Divides Justice
Poverty Divides Justice
The opposite of poverty is not wealth, the opposite of poverty is justice
(Stevenson). Poverty, the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in
amount. During this time period and decades leading to the past, the justice
system has consisted of various flaws. One of the imperfections proves that the
poor and impoverished are treated unfairly due to their lack of money and ability
to be able to speak up for what is ethical. Bryan Stevenson, the author of Just Mercy
and an icon for creating justice, writes about stories and cites real life examples of
how people have been mistreated due to lack of resources and money. In addition,
the New York Times Article, Court by Court, Lawyers Fight Policies That Fall
Heavily on the Poor , written by Shaila Dewan, exemplifies the blisters that the
court system plays in society and what people are doing at this day and age to
reverse these faults and create equality for all. Plus, a New York Times video,
Keeping The Poor Out of Jail, created by Kassie Bracken and Jessica Naudziunas,
shows real life actions and struggles that an abundance of people are going through
within the justice system and the tactics to tear the courts down from their
reprehensible actions. All of these sources prove that the moral in the justice system
has diminished and needs to be restored in order to create for equality amongst all.
Bryan Stevenson, the author of Just Mercy, is a gifted young attorney who founded
the Equal Justice Initiative, which is a legal practice dedicated to protecting the
rights of the poor and support of the wrongly convicted. One of his main cases that
proves that the opposite of poverty is not wealth, the opposite of poverty is justice
(Stevenson). This case is comprised of Walter McMillian who was victimized due
to the color of his skin and cruel punishment of the justice system (Stevenson).
Parallel to that of the book To Kill a Mockingbird , Walter McMillian was charged
with the murder of a white young women in Monroeville Alabama. McMillian cut
timber for a living and therefore did not have any extra money to spend trying to
redeem himself of his freedom. In addition, there was no tangible evidence proposed

Who Is Absolon In Miller s Tale
Throughout his The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer makes it his goal to expose the
true nature of each of his characters through the descriptions given by the narrator
and reflected in the tale told by each character. At the end of the Miller s Tale,
almost all of the characters are guilty of some wrongdoing and physically harmed in
some manner. The unfortunate chain of events at the story s conclusion and the
Miller s extreme amusement in response to the story enable the reader to become
privy to the Miller s unique agenda. A superficial possibility, and easily the most
reflective of the Miller s personality, is a simple desire to find and provide
amusement in a vulgar tale with graphic imagery and inappropriate actions by the
characters. Another... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his prologue, the Reeve immediately finds insult in his story, and he begs him
not to submit to thy lewed dronken harlotrye (72). The Miller then justifies what
the Reeve sees as a malevolent representation of the wife by saying An husbond
shal nat been inquisitif Of Goddes privetee, nor of his wyfe (73). This use of
religion as a means of logic by the Miller provides severe contrast to his intoxicated
state, but it more importantly defines the adulterous sin of the wife as righteous
punishment for the husband s jealousy. At the end of the Miller s tale, the
simultaneous kissing of Alisoun s arse by Absolon, supposedly the most religious of
these figures, the branding of Nicholas rear, and the fall of the carpenter represents
the concept of divine retribution that the Miller finds so hilarious in its very ironic
vulgarity (88). Of particular interest is the fact that the Miller sees the carpenter s
jealousy and foolish marriage to someone so much younger than him as the most
extreme of his characters sins, warranting the folk gan laughen at his fantasye...And

The setting of the story itself is beyond the minds of normal people in 1944, and
when the audience was exposed to it, the definition of sci fi was reshaped. It began
with the colonization of humans on the planet of Jupiter, the largest planet, with
great atmosphere pressure. Humans live inside a Dome, and can not explore
beyond it, except if they turn themselves into another alien form. Many brave men
have transformed themselves and walked out the dome, only to disappear and
never return. Fowler, the head leader of the Dome has had enough, and decided to
send himself and his puppy out. The story is considered a science fiction because of
its imaginative concept of futuristic, space exploration and extraterrestrial life. On
top of this, the story navigates through another planet, where humanity must adapt to
the environment or die trying. The main theme in this story is persistence, never
giving up no matter the circumstances or the difficulties. This is demonstrated
throughout the whole story, for example, Stanley, the scientist said, You re going
to keep on sentencing them to death, she said. You re going to keep marching them
out face to face with Jupiter. You re going to sit in here safe and comfortable and
send them out to die. This shows that lives after lives are being lost, but Fowler
will never give up in find the answer. He said, If a few men die, but we finally
succeed, the price is small. Through the ages men have thrown away their lives on
foolish things, for foolish reasons. Why should we hesitate, then, at a little death in a
thing as great as this? This demonstrates his hunger to finding the solution, the
solution that will enable humanity to explore beyond inside the Dome. Fowler and
his men are willing to continue sacrificing themselves because they know the price is
worth it for the great evolution of mankind. The theme of the story,
A Doll House Literary Analysis Essay
Literary Analysis of A Doll House In A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen, Nora, one of
the main characters, borrows money from Krogstad, in efforts to save her
husband, Helmer s life. Nora does this unthinkable act of the era, behind Helmer s
back and keeps it a secret until Krogstad threatens Nora. In this literary work Nora,
confronts a private passion of independence that ultimately conflicts with the
current responsibilities of a woman in the era. Ibsen shows Nora s character
development dramatically throughout the work in which she finally realizes the
Doll House she s been living in. When Nora borrowed money from Krogstad it was
in efforts to save her husband. This passion got her in trouble because it went
against her responsibilities as a wife. Helmer was a very prideful man. Having his
wife do his biddings would embarrass him. Borrowing money was also a big thing
that Helmer absolutely was not okay with. Never Borrow! (1715), was what he
told her when they were talking about debt and what ifs. Helmer still doesn t know
that Nora had already committed this heinous crime. It s already known at the bank
that I m firing Krogstad. What if it s rumored around now that the bank manager

Nietzsche And Platonism Essay examples
In Twilight of the Idols Nietzsche writes, quot;My objection against the whole of
sociology in England and France remains that it knows from experience only the
forms of decay, and with perfect innocence accepts its instincts of decay as the
norm of sociological value judgments. The decline of life, the decrease in the power
to organize, that is to tear open clefts, subordinate and super ordinate all this has
been formulated as the ideal in contemporary sociology. quot; (p 541). The culture of
Europe at the time of Nietzsche s writing was experiencing a general decline in

The Christian, Nietzsche claims, is similar to the nihilist. He denies the natural rank
order of the world in favor of an unrealistic vision of the equality of all souls. This
rejection of super and subordination is a symptom of resentment against reality. It is
the dissatisfied cry of the weak who, instead of acting in accord with their own
temperaments, revolt against nature and commit a kind of arrogance against the
world. These advocates of communal life thought that humans would enjoy expanded
freedom and happiness with the abolition of property, leadership, unequal social
status and privilege. But, Nietzsche points out, the complaints and desires of the
Christian nihilist are the complaints and desires of those who want revenge on a
world that has denied them what they are too weak to seize. quot;...there is a fine
dose of revenge in every complaint. quot; (p. 534). The nihilist tries to find someone
at fault for the suffering that he undergoes, and in this fault finding is exhibited the
weakness of one who cannot simply move forward with his own life. The only
difference between the Christian and the nihilist is that the Christian finds fault in
himself while the nihilist finds fault in others.
A world full of Christians is a world in decline. Desiring release from suffering in the
here and now, Christians imagine the existence of illusory, utopian worlds beyond

Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic Executive Summary
A significant volunteer experience that augmented my leadership skills and
expanded my understanding of medicine was at the Honolulu Harbor Medical Clinic
sponsored by the Seafarer s Ministry. The Seafarer s Ministry provides spiritual,
emotional, and social support for the undocumented foreign fishermen docked at
Honolulu Harbor. The clinic began with few volunteers and two doctors who
provided medical care to undocumented foreign fishermen from a box of supplies out
of a truck. This expanded my capacity to understanding, to humbly accept
circumstances and encouraged me to practice medicinewith culturally sensitivity.
As a volunteer, I scribed, organized the stock medications, and mentored incoming

Pop star Britney Spears has a drastic flaw that she allowed to get out of hand which

her non fiction poems were written in the 60 s during the Civil Rights Movement.

The Black Womanhood By Linda Brent Essay
Black womanhood is extremely complex because this is a group of people who
have marginalized for centuries. There is a burden put on black women that other
groups do not experience. Being a woman in today s society is a burden alone, but
on top of that being African American presents another set of obstacles. Linda
Brent in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Janie Crawford in Their Eyes
Were Watching God, are both black women who are oppressed by society as a
whole, particularly males. Since they have to face twice the amount of oppression,
they have even more of a reason to fight for their basic human rights of liberty and
respect. By looking at Linda Brent s fight for independence as a slave, we can see
how even though Janie was not a slave, she still fights for independence within her
relationships with men. This is important because it shows how Jacobs and
Hurston believed that domesticity and over sexualization limits the power of black
women therefore they have to be physically and mentally strong. Domesticity
limits Janie and Linda s freedom because it allows them to only control household
responsibilities while still being ruled by men. Linda Brent was a house slave
which some may say she was privileged but she was subjected to the master s
dominance as well. As a house slave, she got a taste of domesticity by cooking,
cleaning, and caring for the master s children. Unfortunately at the time society
believed that women were meant to stay inside and take care
Christ Blessing, Surrounded By A Donor Family
Christ Blessing, Surrounded by a Donor Family (1573 1582) offers valuable insight
into a changing European landscape during the sixteenth century. The Protestant
Reformation, which reached its climax during this era, rejected many aspects of
Catholicism. Among other things, Protestants believed that each individual should
read the Bibleand develop a meaningful connection to G d rather than limiting the
Bible to the clergy s interpretation.1 This Protestant belief and other tenets of the
Reformers are evident in the Reformation s art. Christ Blessing, Surrounded by a
Donor Family demonstrates the manner in which the cultural shift from Catholicism
to Protestantismin Northern Europe during the Reformation was reflected in that era s
art.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inscriptions of Bible verses in Low German in Christ Blessing, Surrounded by
a Donor Family are also indicative of the influence on Protestant beliefs on the
painting. Prior to the Reformation, the Bible (like all Catholic liturgy) was always
read in Latin. However, Latin was a language that was only comprehensible to the
clergy and to a small class of very well educated and wealthy individuals. The vast
majority of Europeans did not comprehend Latin and, therefore, they had to rely on
the clergy to interpret the Bible s teachings. Moreover, prior to the invention of the
printing press Bibles, like all other books, had to be copied by hand. Since this was
a time consuming and expensive process, Bibles were not widely dispersed. At the
start of the Reformation, Gutenberg designed the printing press. The revolutionary
invention of the printing press enabled the mass production of books and a
reduction in their cost, which allowed a much larger audience to own Bibles.5
Furthermore, the translation of the Bible into the vernacular allowed a much wider
audience to read and interpret it for themselves.6 The wide dissemination of
relatively inexpensive Bibles in the vernacular served as a powerful catalyst for the
spread of Protestantism. The inscriptions on the painting are indicative of the
Protestant desire to disseminate the Bible broadly. Moreover, they derive from a
copy of Johannes Bugenhagen s translation of the bible

Basque Culture I grew up in a small town, which was highly populated with
individuals of Basque descent. My grandfather severed in the military and was

A high school teammate of mine was The Competitor. Her outlook on life was to

noticed the pained expression on her face. I knew she was only pushing herself to

regularly by that that time, and was in pretty good shape. She gave up first, and The

this constraining opinion, and firmly believe that women are capable to make great
achievements in modern high technology as men do. Therefore, I made up my mind

Discuss to What Extent Psychology Can Be Considered a Science. According to
Merriam Webster (2008), science is a, knowledge or a system of knowledge covering
general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method , with
scientific method in five steps being, observation/research, hypothesis, prediction,
experimentation and conclusion. (sciencemadesimple.com, 2006). With this to

psychology has not always been looked on as a science and its early roots were in

It is not possible to repeat either of the methods to replicate results or further test a
hypothesis. Also, variables cannot be controlled. Nor is it possible to make
generalisations therefore not allowing predictions for future behaviours. It is not
possible to follow the scientific method as outlined within the introduction with
either research type; therefore psychology could not be considered a science using
these methods alone. Surveys are a further example of descriptive research. These
can be carried out as interviews or questionnaires and can be carried out face to
face or even over the telephone. The key advantage of this form is that many
people can be surveyed by comparison to observation or case study. Unless the
sample is entirely random it would be impossible to make generalisations using the
results. However, the results produced from surveys can be replicated and repeated
and essentially fulfil the scientific method previously outlined and as a whole,
descriptive research would fulfil the description credential of the scientific goals and
also account for the observation/research idea in the scientific method outlined within
the introduction, allowing suggestion that psychology could be considered a science.
The second form of research is known as correlation research. In this the researcher
would measurea variable and then a second and then use the statistical information

According to Judith Warner, a New York Times journalist who specializes in
psychology, the charitable giving deficit is due to the lack of empathy towards the
hardships of the poor among their rich counterparts (Warner 2). In light of this, it is
important to determine how socioeconomic background influences donation patterns
in order to bridge the charitable giving gap. Altruistic behaviors in their quintessential
form are selflessly motivated prosocial actions; they influence virtually all human
interactions. In America, altruism is ostensibly embodied in the giving patterns of
wealthy philanthropists who have a history of creating endowments and donating
assets to higher education and other charitable programs. However, in reality, the
lower and middle classes account for most of the charitable giving in America.
Furthermore, altruism is identified with prosocial behavior, or actions that benefit
society as a whole, in sociological interactions. Individuals who come from lower
socioeconomic backgrounds are more altruistic because their increased empathy for
human welfare and intrinsic self transcendent value systems motivate them to give
more readily.
Sociological
In sociology, altruism characterizes virtually all human interactions. Whether it be
marginal acts of kindness or donations to local charities, altruism allows for society to

Lyndon Johnson and the Great Society Review In 1964, Lyndon Johnson set out to
enact the Great Society program in order to expand upon and complete Roosevelt s
New Deal. This was a liberal program set up to ensure that the government staked
more claim in aiding the citizens of the United States. This program touched on
issues such as civil rights, education, and health care which were prevalent issues at
the time, and that still have a major impact on society today. John Andrew lays out in

The second chapter entails Johnson s efforts to attack poverty. This issue and civil
rights Johnson felt went hand in hand, due to many African Americans being
poverty stricken. He implemented the Economic Opportunity act in 1964 in order
to provide jobs and other services to the poor. He set out to instill education, health
care, and an overall better well being for the less fortunate. He also implemented
the Community Action Program, which was set up at the local level through
federal funding to combat poverty in many stricken areas. Andrew did good job of
explaining the problems with the poverty act. He goes into detail of how these
programs were not set up in the correct ways and were terribly under funded. He
talks of how in theory these are well placed programs, but in practice they fail. He
also explains how whites feel this another way for the government to give African
Americans too much opportunity, and it was very scrutinized by many white
citizens. Though it was an overall failure, it did set up the Head Start program
which helps people find jobs, and is still in effect to this day. The third chapter
focuses on health care and education. Johnson felt that all people should be entitled
to an education and healthcare. He signed the Medicare and Medicaid programs in
1965 which provided funding for health care to people. These got overwhelming

The Negative Effects Of Coal Mining
Coal mining has generated, over the last century a series of negative impacts on our
environment such as coal mining accidents, land sinkage, damage to the water
environment mining waste disposal and air pollution. Although much of the damage
is done to the environment it also affects us humans too in such a way. However
nothing has been done to help this complication to stop this catastrophic activity to
stop our planet from diminishing away.
How does is affect people?
Mining is the first step in the dirty life cycle of coal. When coal mines move in,
whole communities are forced of their land/providence due to expanding mines,
which contribute massively to coal fires, subsidence, and overused and
contaminated water supplies, due to the poisonous fumes and deadly minerals
/chemicals. manufactured from the coal mines. Although coal mines are quick to
shut down and go away due to coal shortage they leave a path of destruction behind
them like acid mine drainage which can persist and spread to other lands such as
crops for decades which would also affect farmers near by by killing all their crops
and affecting other land owners by spreading the air with this dangerous and
poisonous substance. Which would not enable the previous land owners to come
and live again due to the eradication the coal mine has left behind it. Noting coal
miners would have also been affected due to the poisonous gas surrounding all
around their working environment which would have made some very sick and some
even losing their live due to the amount of gas they transferred into their body.
Where is the conflict occurring?
Coal mining is a huge industry and it happens almost everywhere in the world. But
then there are ten top coal producers in the world which produces most of the
worlds coal. China is by far the worlds largest coal producer, producing 3700 MT
annually. USA is the second top coal producer at 916 MT annually. India is the third
largest coal producer producing 668 MT annually. Australia is situated at number 4
producing 491MT annually. And Indonesia at fifth place producing 471MT annually.
When did the conflict start?
Coal has been used for decades and centuries, so far back to around 1000 BC.
However in the 1700 s the
Genetically Modified Organisms And Its Effects
Genetically modified organisms has affected 50% of children in the United States
to suffer chronic diseases, and 21% of children to have developmental disorders.
This epidemic stems from the fact that GMOs cause damage to nature and
humanity by destroying ecosystems, by being toxic when eaten, and by spreading
its genes to organisms that has not yet been modified genetically. One of the most
important ways that GMOs hurt nature is by reproducing with non genetically
modified organisms. When GMOs reproduce with non GMOs, the modified genes
are transferred to their offspring. Because of this, more species will possess traits
that the GMOs had, and create an imbalance of organisms in an environment.
Scientists have done countless studies on how GMOs can spread their genes to
pests. In the article, The Precautionary Principle Applied to Deliberate Release of
Genetically Modified Organisms , the authors comment, Novel genes in
plants...might escape and be transferred to weedy relatives or other crops by
[pollination] (Myhr and Traavik 68). This quote proves that the diffusion of genes
to other organisms is possible. These two authors go on to explain the effects of
having GMOs in an environment. GMOs may accidentally harm an ecology by
being superior to other life and by causing an imbalance of creatures (Myhr and
Traavik 68). This statement shows some of the effects that GMOs can do to nature.
Furthermore, when a plant is genetically modified, it is able to pollinate vast
Chemistry Is Essential For An Average Individual
Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the arrangement, structure, and
change of matter. As a student interested in nursing, it is required to take the course
of chemistry among many other pre requisite courses. When reviewing the course
syllabus I thought to myself, What is this stuff, and when am I going to ever use it in
Nursing? Also to all incoming non science majors who are required to take chemistry,
this course may be the last course you would even think about taking. Believe it or
not, there is more to chemistry besides science. I ve learned that chemistry is
actually an interesting field of study. Chemistry actually plays a role in everyone s
lives and touches almost every feature of our existence in some way. The lessons I
learned throughout this course can actually apply to the everyday life of an
average individual. Even for those non science majors, the lessons from this course
can most likely be applied to not only your major, but more importantly your
survival on Earth. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food,
health, clothing, shelter, energy, clean air, water, and soil. Having chemistry
knowledge is worthwhile because it provides a basis for understanding the physical
universe we live in. Throughout this course, I found how almost every lesson could
apply to everyday life. For instance I found the lessons of the basic concepts of matter
, measurements in chemistry and chemical equations, along with the study of solvents
Physics Of Bridges
Bridges are a connection of one place of the world to another. They link the vast
world together. Bridges were used thousands of years ago, especially by the
Romans. In the ancient times and present time, several forces are always encountered
when building bridges. The forces determine how big or sturdy a bridgewill be. There
are several types of bridges, such as the girder bridge, arch bridge, truss bridge, and
suspension bridge. Bridges have been used for a great amount of time. This allows us
to discover more about the forces of bridges and he variety of bridges today.
The earliest bridges, natural and manmade, were made from wood planks or logs,
and later from stone. The Romans, one of the greatest bridge builder of ancient time,

These bridges are made of trusses, which are patterns of triangles. The truss was
developed during the Industrial Revolution when people were finding ways to
develop better girder bridges. These trusses are now used to stabilize and support
other bridges, such as suspension bridges. Trusses are used widely because the truss
pattern is rigid and can dissipate weight throughout the truss. They can be commonly
found on girder bridges, because the truss pattern evens out the forces of tension and
compression. A deck truss, a type of truss bridge, is classified by having its roadway
above the truss. A through truss is another type of truss bridge that has the truss
above the roadway. There are various types of truss patterns, which include the K
truss, the Pratt truss, the Warren truss, and the Howe
Pharmacy Essay
Helping people on their path to better health is a quote used by CVSHealth, I first
heard it during the orientation for my pharmacy technician job. I love this quote
because it really defines my purpose for wanting to be a pharmacist in the simplest
way. My journey to becoming a pharmacists consist of why I selected pharmacyas a
career, future goals, and my backgrounds that will help me achieve the goals that I
set for myself.
I came into college knowing that I wanted to work in the medical field, but without
really knowing what profession I wanted to pursue. There were many reasons why I
wanted to pursue a career in the medical field which eventually led to pursuing a
pharmacy career. One reason was wanting a career where I m regularly ... Show more

One of my long term goals is to start an outreach program or help an existing one
where I can educate my community on the importance of drug regulation, interaction,
and always updating their physicians and pharmacists on what drugs they re using
and how they respond to those drugs. I feel like patient care should go further then
what a job description says, and we should be helping educate our community outside
of the workplace when given the opportunity.
My educational background consist of taking high level science courses which I
excelled in and my professional background consist shadowing a local pharmacists
for 40 hours during a week where I got a closer look at an everyday pharmacy
environment, also I ve recently begun working at CVS as a Pharmacy technician
to get more hands on experience in a pharmacy setting. These experiences I believe
will help me excel in pharmacy school where I can further build up my background
to achieve my goal of becoming a retail pharmacist. One of my long term goals is
to help educate my community on drug problems and regulations, to achieve this
goal I believe my professional and personal background play a key role. My
professional background in the future will help me achieve this goal, it will consist
of becoming a pharmacists who s established the respect of his community to where

Violation Vs Incarceration
According to Tribune Review analysis of Department of National Justice Caseload
Data, 29.2 percent of criminal violation citations had weak or insufficient admissible
evidence; 25 percent had lack of evidence of criminal intent; 9.2 percent had no
federal offense evident; and 5 percent had insufficient evidence. Statistics and data
typically aren t very intimidating, however these are. These statistics indicate that law
enforcement officers and public officials are taking advantage of people who know
nothing of their own civil rights and liberties. Knowing your rights is vital to
avoiding infringement, and possible false incarceration. Violation of these rights isn t

Essay on Religion, Politics, and Diplomacy
Those who say religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion is
(Mahatma Gandhi). Though many politicians of the day say that government should
be in a separate category than religion, it still plays an important role. Religion may
not be big in countries like America, but it weighs heavily on many other countries
all around the world. That is why when doing anything, a business deal, or a
diplomatic trip, there needs to be cautionary measures taken. Two authors go over the
subject of one countryunderstanding another: Journalist Thomas Friedman in his text
The Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention , and former Secretary of State Madeline
Albright in her text Faith and Diplomacy . In both texts the authors stem off... Show

Albright really wants peace, and as a former Secretary of State she has not seen
much. She talks a lot about religion and how it can be good and bad. People fight
wars because of religion; they also die because of it too.
There can be a level of not understanding a different country s habits and niches.
Albright believes a goal should be set by the government, In the future, no
American ambassador should be assigned to a country where religious feelings are
strong unless he or she has a deep understanding of the faiths commonly practiced
there (29). Take this idea of Albright s and expand it to not only diplomats, but the
traveling business man as well. There are many a time when a business man does
not know the culture and religious background of a country, does something silly
during a business meeting, and offends everyone. Let s say if the business man
goes to Japan, if they don t follow these rules: No excessive eye contact, never ever
be late for an appointment, avoid wearing lots of jewelry and bright colors, and
others as well, the Japanese business man will get very upset, and that could make
everything bad. If someone does these bad things with the wrong people, like a
dignitary, it could mean war. Examining the tension between China and Taiwan,
Hundreds of big American tech companies now have R D operations in China; a war
that disrupted them could lead not only to the companies moving their plants

The Mayan Calendars
What would you do if you created something remarkable that world uses today? If
you have you know how great it is. For example the Mayan invented the calender.
The example I used is what this is all about. The Mayan made very remarkable
things but I felt that the calender was the most remarkable thing that they have ever
made. To get you started let me tell you what there two calendars are. There is the
ritual calendar and the solar calendar. The ritual calendar involves religious and
sacrificing days. The calendars were a very important achievement in their lifetime.
They did although get the calendar from the Olmec. The Maya were smart in being
able to detect the rainy, snow, and nice season. The Maya are very smart, sometimes
Descartes Meditation 3 Analysis
Julio Franco
PHIL 3602 01
2/11/2016
Meditation 3, in my opinion, is the hardest meditations to understand. That is why I
chose it. In the 3rd Meditation, Descartes attempts to prove that God (I) exists (ii) is
the cause of the essence of the meditator, and (iii) the cause of the meditator s
existence. In order to confirm the truth of clear and distinct perceptions, however, he
must prove the existence of a benevolent God. If God were a deceiver, he could be
deceived even with respect to his clear and distinct perceptions. Descartes states that
there are three types of ideas: Innate, Fictitious, and Adventitious. Innate ideas are
ideas than come from within us. Fictitious ideas are ideas from our imagination.
Adventitious ideas are ideas that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This proof relies on causal reasoning, suggesting that there must be a cause of the
idea of God that is as great as God himself. Though my idea of God might have
come from my father, and my father s idea of God might have come from a priest,
the suggestion is that at the end of that causal chain, there is a first cause, which is
God. The proof of the first cause is usually used in pointing out that there must be
some unmoved mover at the source of all change in this universe.
However, this proof has since been discredited, since it relies on a faulty
understanding of causation which assumes, among other things, that all causal chains
must have a first term. No proof of the existence of God is widely accepted today,
and the search for such a proof is no longer a hot philosophical topic. While there is
still disagreement over whether or not God exists and what God s nature is, it is
generally agreed that God s existence cannot be proved through a feat of the
Battle Of Sicily Essay
The history of Sicily, the largest island of the Mediterranean Sea, has been shaped by
many different populations, which have dominated its territory mainly because of its
strategic geographical position. The first populations on the Sicilian territory,
according to the official history, were the Sicani, the Sicels and the Elymians,
considered as the native populations of Sicily. After them, many other populations of
the Mediterranean basin, such as Egyptians, Phoenicians and Iberians, stayed in
Sicily. About 750 BC, the Greeks began to live in Sicily, establishing many important
settlements. The Hellenic culture was well accepted by the local population, and the
island became part of Magna Graecia. Meanwhile, Sicily has been disputed between
Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans in the Punic Wars, which saw the victory of Rome
. Hence, Sicily became a Roman province, being controlled by a Roman consul and
spreading Roman culture and Latin language through the population (Norwhich,
2007, ch.V) After the fall of the Western Roman Empirein 5th century, the island was
conquered frequently by different populations, in fact, during the Middle Ages it was
ruled in turn by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1068, Roger occupied Misilmeri, but the most crucial battle was the siege of
Palermo, which in 1072 brought most of Sicily under Norman control. After having
Sicily completely under their control, the Normans took the most important elements
of the Arabic culture, incorporating these elements in their own. Indeed, still, the
island s character did not change quickly. For much of the 12thcentury Sicily
remained home to a mixed population of Muslims, Greeks, and Jews with the new
settlers (Abufalia, 2011, pp. 281 282). What we are left of Norman culture on Sicily
are the beautiful architectural monuments scattered on many Sicilian

The first female priminister Margaret Thatcher came to power which brought
about a greater female morale and a breakthrough in women s
independencesomething which is clearly evident in Doris script. Margaret
Thatcher is perhaps an inspiring figure influencing the character to bring about
change within their own lives alike to the many changes Margaret brought about to
England. Irene is a character who in many ways tried bringing about changes I.e.
through many letters she writes in order to resolve problems that are not involving
her. At the beginning of the monologue Lady Of Letters Irene is portrayed as a
character that is a rather concerned, law abiding and sensitive middle aged citizen,
qualities which are frequently associated with a woman of her age. In telling us of
her visit to the crematorium no unusual deductions would be made as a lady of this
age would undoubtedly encounter a few deaths of friends of a similar age. It also
seems justified that she should be annoyed at these irreverent smokers at such a
sombre occasion. However as we learn of her little acquaintance with the deceased,
her character unfolds as rather remote and lonely as well as someone who leads a
rather uneventful life. I thought I d get out my little maroon coat and put in an
appearance. At least its an outing In saying this Irene emphasises her alienation from
any social activities also. This
The Three Managerial Skills
7. Question 3: 3 Managerial Skills According to John et al. (2010), a skill is an
ability to transfer knowledge into action to achieve expected performance. Manager
requires managerial skills to carry out specific managerial tasks in the
organizations. Robert L.Katz (1974) has classified essential managerial skills into
three categories: technical, human and conceptual. 7a. Identification Three
managerial skills that are being performed evidently by Wong Gillmore as a bank
manager are Technical, Human and Conceptual skills. 7b. Definition By definition,
the ability to perform specific managerial activities by using special proficiency or
expertise is defined as technical skill (John et al. 2010). Technical skill not only
includes ability to control machines and production tools, but also related to skills of
designing and marketing the products or services (Entrepreneurship in a Box 2014).

her staff; she feels satisfied when her staff has promoted while she feels upset when

Furthermore, she often holds meeting to communicate with her subordinates
(paragraph 8). In this situation, human skills help Wong Gillmore in managing,
directing and instructing her staffs so that a smooth cooperation between bank
manager and staff members are assured to achieve bank s objectives. For external
environment, she keeps in touch with existing and potential customers by following
up phone calls and visiting them. Her communication with CPA via letter mail also
shows that she uses human skills to establish her bank s business (paragraph 2 and 3).
In this case, human skills are important as they are needed in building, maintaining
and enhancing customer relationships with Wong Gillmore as a bank

Essay Novel

  • 1. Essay Novel Writing an essay on the topic of an "Essay Novel" presents a unique challenge. The combination of these two literary forms requires a delicate balance between creative expression and scholarly analysis. Crafting an essay novel involves seamlessly integrating the traditional structure and argumentative elements of an essay with the narrative and imaginative qualities of a novel. Firstly, defining the boundaries of this hybrid genre poses a challenge. The essay aspect demands a clear thesis, logical organization, and supporting evidence, while the novel component calls for engaging characters, a compelling plot, and a well-developed setting. Striking the right equilibrium between these elements is a tightrope walk that demands careful consideration and skillful execution. Moreover, the process of seamlessly interweaving critical analysis within the narrative framework can be daunting. It requires a deep understanding of the chosen topic, as well as the ability to embed insights and interpretations seamlessly into the storyline without compromising the flow of the narrative. This dual nature demands a high level of creativity and academic rigor, making the task complex and intellectually demanding. Additionally, maintaining a consistent tone and voice throughout the essay novel is crucial. Balancing the formality required in an academic essay with the creative flair of a novel requires a nuanced approach. The language must be sophisticated and polished when presenting arguments, yet fluid and expressive when narrating the fictional elements. In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of an "Essay Novel" is an intricate task that necessitates a harmonious fusion of analytical prowess and creative storytelling. Navigating the intersection of these two distinct genres requires a writer to be adept at both academic writing and narrative composition. Successfully marrying these elements results in a piece that not only conveys a persuasive argument but also captivates the reader through a compelling narrative. For those seeking assistance with such complex writing endeavors, various resources are available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer the opportunity to order essays, including unique and challenging topics like the one discussed here. • 2. Living in a World with Danger and Killing We live in a world, where war is a constant danger and is a recurring issue in our lives. Death and violence are constant topics of discussion throughout the media and most Americans have grown accustomed to hearing about these issues on a daily basis. It seems that the reaching ideal of global peace is an impossible feat and that justice will never be reached. Nations throughout the world have made the promise We will never fight again on numerous occasions, yet the world is still afflicted with wars, mass killings and political turmoil. As citizens of a world population we have become too consumed with the pursuit of wealth and power and the lofty ideals of world unity have fallen by the wayside. Globally, almost everyone would prefer to live in a world of peace. Peace may seem to be a simple world, but in reality it is a difficult concept to comprehend and has proven to be an insurmountable problem. Historically, there have been several attempts at creating international bodies to promote peace, but none have been effective. In many instances throughout history disastrous calamities could have been avoided, but for a lack of a competent international lawmaking body. The mass killings that occurred in Rwanda are a perfect example of a failure of an international lawmaking body. In this case, the United Nations had extremely accurate information about what was occurring in Rwanda, but they stood by and let the killings of hundreds of thousands of people take place

The prior companies that Crowley and Selvadurai worked at were closely related to the same business that Foursquare is today. 1 25: What gaps in the founder s team and resources needed to be filled by outside sources? Name four specific resources they acquired. Gaps that needed to be filled were sufficient funding for launching the app, they needed four different venture capital installments to get the project off the ground, talent was mostly there in the beginning and the founder experience helped them recognize the talent they needed. There was also a period of retailer fatigue. 1 26: Identify the features and benefits the founders included in the app to ensure its popularity. Why were these selected? One of the biggest benefits and features of Foursquare is that it is a mobile app and easily accessible from any mobile device. Crowley and Salvadaurai thought it would be a good idea to build incentives into the app which would potentially increase usage and improve the user s experience. One incentive was to award virtual badges for the number or variety of check ins to particular locations visited. Users were also able to receive discounts and incentives from advertisers when they check in such as free items. Crowley and Salvadaurai also designed the

The identity of the patient is the heart of the story as he tells his memories of a doomed love affair in the North African desert. Love and passion are set against the devastation of war in this inspired novel by Canadian writer Michael Ondaatje. The term identity In general we differentiate between two kinds of identity. On the one hand there is the so called social identity, which stresses self interpretation as a member of a certain social group and on the other hand there is the personal identity, which puts itВґs emphasis on individuality and distinctiveness. This distinction is widely known as patchwork identity . Both identities are only a subgroup of many different subjectively interpreted identities that everyone of us has innate. Life is made up of many windows and real life is only one of them. The question is, which of these identities will I present, which of them will I develop and how do I realize other personsВґ identities? In the novel The English patient both of the above mentioned identities can be discovered within all the expressingly dynamic characters. If we take Hana as a first example we might simply say that she is a canadian nurse aiding injured soldiers during the second world war. This statement can be referred to as social identity it is the way Hana behaves within society. Her personal identity, however, is much more subtile and not that easy, neither to discover, nor to understand. The same, of course, applies to the other characters, especially to the English patient, whose rediscovery of identity is the focus of this novel and mainly dealt with. His story of identical background is told in flashbacks, as he

Tiberius began to take firm steps against foreign beliefs because he thought they were a threat to traditional Roman values. He expelled followers of the Egyptian and Jewish religions from Rome and banished astrologers. Tiberius believed in astrology himself but probably feared a possible conspiracy inspired by horoscopes. Tiberius established a central camp for the Praetorian guard in Rome so the military could be quickly called to put down civilian violence. Civilian riots were common because of the large population of unemployed that were provided for by the public dole. Lucius Aelius Sejanus was in charge of these troops and that gave him an enormous amount of potential power. He aspired to marry Livia Julia, Tiberius daughter, and worked to increase the emperor s fear and distrust of other members of his Tiberius family. In AD 26 Tiberius left Rome and withdrew to Campania, and the following year went to the island of Capri. Tiberius left Rome under the power of Sejanus. Finally realizing that Sejanus was trying to seize the imperial power he sent a carefully worded letter to the senate. The senate read the letter while the unsuspecting Sejanus sat in the senate chamber. Tiberius bitterly condemned Sejanus. Quick action was then taken to execute Sejanus and his family. Incidents such as this one gave Tiberius a bad name with the people of Rome and the senate. Tiberius continued to rule Rome and the

I found mentally and physically draining to concentrate and be energetic each day. It was also a challenging but a rewarding experience to observe and give feedback to my classmates. This exercise intrigued me. It was nice to see how facilitators (students) responded positively to the instructor s observations. I was also impressed that in all sessions, I observed camaraderie and a great classroom atmosphere. As a participant, the sessions motivated me to participate and observe the group dynamics. As an observer, I was equally motivated to provide relevant and accurate feedback to my peers so that we could all learn from the experience. In this paper, I will look at and compare two leisure education interventions and highlight the behavioural observations that have a positive effect on the participant s and the facilitator s learning experience. Purpose and Goals of the Intervention During class, I was a participant in the leisure education program Hooked on a Feeling! . The purpose of the intervention was to provide an awareness of positive attitudes towards the benefits of participating in leisure experiences for individuals living in a long term care facility. I noticed the facilitator was nervous and seemed uneasy about her presentation. As a participant, this made me feel uncomfortable because I wanted help. I noticed there was no pre assessment so I was unable to
  • 11. Compare And Contrast Homer And Hesiod Many have deemed Homer and Hesiod the founding fathers of Greek epic poetry and philosophical writings. Both writers careers flourished around 8th century B.C, and were immense influences in the world of Greek philosophy. Hesiod focuses on more traditional origins of life for his stories and ensures that the creation of the world and its rulers are embodied in his works. Homer has been considered one of the most influential philosophical writers for centuries by recognized philosophers. He wrote about principles in battle, governance, counsel, sports, the home and life in general that the Greeks looked to in praise. While both of the authors were similar in writing style, they differ vastly in the messages of their poems. Hesiod s main focus in his poem Theogony was to emphasize the ways that the world was created by the gods and how the gods fought in order to maintain a peaceful the universe. Hesiod claims to have written this work under divine inspiration, suggesting possibly that the gods themselves revealed the story to him. He highlights the fact that gods act based on morality rather than personal gain. When they fight for something, it is for the greater good and because it is just in the eyes of Greek traditions. He composed his most famous poem Theogony around eighth century B.C, a story within a poem about the birth of the Greek gods. In the beginning, he claims the very first thing in the universe was chaos, and out of that earth appeared and gives

It will touch on several important issues such as providing a general overview of how the government functions and what resources it provides, as well as some current issues the State of Florida is facing in government administration. Because the State of Florida is a state government, it tends to resemble the national government in composition and organization of their executive branch agencies (Milakovich, 2013, p. 21). The work and services provided by the State of Florida include services for children and families, such as services concerning adoption, child abuse, children with disabilities, food stamps, and marriage/divorce. They also provide services involving colleges and universities, courts and corrections, environmental and wildlife preservation/protection, healthcare administration, highway patrol and safety, utility regulations, transportation, revenue (taxes), and a host of other areas. In order to pay for all of the services which they provide, Governor Rick Scott has created a budget of $78.4 billion for the state of Florida in the 2015 2016 fiscal year (Scott, 2016, p. 13). This budget also includes the employment of 113,687 people who compromise the total state workforce (Scott, 2016, p. 14). A crucial role in the State of Florida is the role of citizen participation. By evildoers, enemies, and oppressors he means Saul s party. They fell dead and became weak in the war against the Philistines. God forsook the people trying to persecute David, because they have forsaken God (Makrakis, 161 162). His enemies could never do him harm, because time and time again the Lord delivered him. Thomas Cranmer s Presence In The Eucharist It has been widely contended that Thomas Cranmer s thoughts on the presence of Christ in the Eucharist had wavered throughout his time as a theologian, and that his writings are somewhat ambiguous when it comes to addressing this important theological topic. Many academics agree that Cranmer is not overly notable for his clarity in writing and concede that this ambiguity, especially on writings of the presence in the Eucharist, is due to the long and uneven evolution of his understanding of the presence. According to Daniel Marrs, a biographer was once quoted in saying that Cranmer was a man of liberal sympathies and a man of extraordinary charm and goes on to say that Cranmer s abilities as a leader was questionable at best because Cranmer s... In the letter, Cranmer admitted that he found the anti transubstantiation writings of Adam Damplip to be quite compelling. This was quite a position for Cranmer to take, considering he was at one time so fervent in his position on transubstantiation that he was responsible for eleven of the executions of people who refuted the belief in the real blood and body presence of Christ in the Eucharist. In Cranmer s True and Catholick Doctrine of the Sacrament Cranmer describes a spiritual presence of Christ in the Eucharist. This moved away from the Zwinglian theory of memorialism (which Cranmer did explore briefly) and was more cohesive with the Calvinist view. He says that those who worthily eat and drink of the bread and wine receive his spirit within the sacrament. He determined that there was a two fold presence of Jesus Christ within the Eucharist and described the figurative presence that occurs when the consecrator repeats the words of Christ at the last supper to remind us of Christ s sacrifice and that the spiritual presence exists for those who worthily eat and drink. In the prayer book of 1549 we are permitted a glimpse of the real presence and spiritual presence debate that was

Poverty, the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount. During this time period and decades leading to the past, the justice system has consisted of various flaws. One of the imperfections proves that the poor and impoverished are treated unfairly due to their lack of money and ability to be able to speak up for what is ethical. Bryan Stevenson, the author of Just Mercy and an icon for creating justice, writes about stories and cites real life examples of how people have been mistreated due to lack of resources and money. In addition, the New York Times Article, Court by Court, Lawyers Fight Policies That Fall Heavily on the Poor , written by Shaila Dewan, exemplifies the blisters that the court system plays in society and what people are doing at this day and age to reverse these faults and create equality for all. Plus, a New York Times video, Keeping The Poor Out of Jail, created by Kassie Bracken and Jessica Naudziunas, shows real life actions and struggles that an abundance of people are going through within the justice system and the tactics to tear the courts down from their reprehensible actions. All of these sources prove that the moral in the justice system has diminished and needs to be restored in order to create for equality amongst all. Bryan Stevenson, the author of Just Mercy, is a gifted young attorney who founded the Equal Justice Initiative, which is a legal practice dedicated to protecting the rights of the poor and support of the wrongly convicted. The unfortunate chain of events at the story s conclusion and the Miller s extreme amusement in response to the story enable the reader to become privy to the Miller s unique agenda. Many brave men have transformed themselves and walked out the dome, only to disappear and never return. Fowler, the head leader of the Dome has had enough, and decided to send himself and his puppy out. On top of this, the story navigates through another planet, where humanity must adapt to the environment or die trying. These advocates of communal life thought that humans would enjoy expanded freedom and happiness with the abolition of property, leadership, unequal social status and privilege. • 28. The Black Womanhood By Linda Brent Essay Black womanhood is extremely complex because this is a group of people who have marginalized for centuries. There is a burden put on black women that other groups do not experience. Being a woman in today s society is a burden alone, but on top of that being African American presents another set of obstacles. Linda Brent in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Janie Crawford in Their Eyes Were Watching God, are both black women who are oppressed by society as a whole, particularly males. Since they have to face twice the amount of oppression, they have even more of a reason to fight for their basic human rights of liberty and respect. By looking at Linda Brent s fight for independence as a slave, we can see how even though Janie was not a slave, she still fights for independence within her relationships with men. This is important because it shows how Jacobs and Hurston believed that domesticity and over sexualization limits the power of black women therefore they have to be physically and mentally strong. Domesticity limits Janie and Linda s freedom because it allows them to only control household responsibilities while still being ruled by men. Linda Brent was a house slave which some may say she was privileged but she was subjected to the master s dominance as well. As a house slave, she got a taste of domesticity by cooking, cleaning, and caring for the master s children. The inscriptions of Bible verses in Low German in Christ Blessing, Surrounded by a Donor Family are also indicative of the influence on Protestant beliefs on the painting. Prior to the Reformation, the Bible (like all Catholic liturgy) was always read in Latin. However, Latin was a language that was only comprehensible to the clergy and to a small class of very well educated and wealthy individuals. The vast majority of Europeans did not comprehend Latin and, therefore, they had to rely on the clergy to interpret the Bible s teachings. Moreover, prior to the invention of the printing press Bibles, like all other books, had to be copied by hand. Since this was a time consuming and expensive process, Bibles were not widely dispersed. At the start of the Reformation, Gutenberg designed the printing press. The revolutionary invention of the printing press enabled the mass production of books and a reduction in their cost, which allowed a much larger audience to own Bibles.5 Furthermore, the translation of the Bible into the vernacular allowed a much wider audience to read and interpret it for themselves.6 The wide dissemination of relatively inexpensive Bibles in the vernacular served as a powerful catalyst for the spread of Protestantism. The inscriptions on the painting are indicative of the Protestant desire to disseminate the Bible broadly. Moreover, they derive from a copy of Johannes Bugenhagen s translation of the bible

He set out to instill education, health care, and an overall better well being for the less fortunate. He also implemented the Community Action Program, which was set up at the local level through federal funding to combat poverty in many stricken areas. Andrew did good job of explaining the problems with the poverty act. He goes into detail of how these programs were not set up in the correct ways and were terribly under funded. He talks of how in theory these are well placed programs, but in practice they fail. He also explains how whites feel this another way for the government to give African Americans too much opportunity, and it was very scrutinized by many white citizens. Though it was an overall failure, it did set up the Head Start program which helps people find jobs, and is still in effect to this day. The third chapter focuses on health care and education. Johnson felt that all people should be entitled to an education and healthcare. He signed the Medicare and Medicaid programs in 1965 which provided funding for health care to people. These got overwhelming public support, most
  • 38. The Negative Effects Of Coal Mining Coal mining has generated, over the last century a series of negative impacts on our environment such as coal mining accidents, land sinkage, damage to the water environment mining waste disposal and air pollution. Although much of the damage is done to the environment it also affects us humans too in such a way. However nothing has been done to help this complication to stop this catastrophic activity to stop our planet from diminishing away. How does is affect people? Mining is the first step in the dirty life cycle of coal. When coal mines move in, whole communities are forced of their land/providence due to expanding mines, which contribute massively to coal fires, subsidence, and overused and contaminated water supplies, due to the poisonous fumes and deadly minerals /chemicals. manufactured from the coal mines. Although coal mines are quick to shut down and go away due to coal shortage they leave a path of destruction behind them like acid mine drainage which can persist and spread to other lands such as crops for decades which would also affect farmers near by by killing all their crops and affecting other land owners by spreading the air with this dangerous and poisonous substance. Which would not enable the previous land owners to come and live again due to the eradication the coal mine has left behind it. Noting coal miners would have also been affected due to the poisonous gas surrounding all around their working environment which would have made some very sick and some even losing their live due to the amount of gas they transferred into their body. Where is the conflict occurring? Coal mining is a huge industry and it happens almost everywhere in the world. But then there are ten top coal producers in the world which produces most of the worlds coal. China is by far the worlds largest coal producer, producing 3700 MT annually. USA is the second top coal producer at 916 MT annually. India is the third largest coal producer producing 668 MT annually. Australia is situated at number 4 producing 491MT annually. And Indonesia at fifth place producing 471MT annually. When did the conflict start? Coal has been used for decades and centuries, so far back to around 1000 BC. However in the 1700 s the
  • 39. Genetically Modified Organisms And Its Effects Genetically modified organisms has affected 50% of children in the United States to suffer chronic diseases, and 21% of children to have developmental disorders. This epidemic stems from the fact that GMOs cause damage to nature and humanity by destroying ecosystems, by being toxic when eaten, and by spreading its genes to organisms that has not yet been modified genetically. One of the most important ways that GMOs hurt nature is by reproducing with non genetically modified organisms. When GMOs reproduce with non GMOs, the modified genes are transferred to their offspring. Because of this, more species will possess traits that the GMOs had, and create an imbalance of organisms in an environment. Scientists have done countless studies on how GMOs can spread their genes to pests. In the article, The Precautionary Principle Applied to Deliberate Release of Genetically Modified Organisms , the authors comment, Novel genes in plants...might escape and be transferred to weedy relatives or other crops by [pollination] (Myhr and Traavik 68). This quote proves that the diffusion of genes to other organisms is possible. These two authors go on to explain the effects of having GMOs in an environment. GMOs may accidentally harm an ecology by being superior to other life and by causing an imbalance of creatures (Myhr and Traavik 68). This statement shows some of the effects that GMOs can do to nature. Furthermore, when a plant is genetically modified, it is able to pollinate vast
  • 40. Chemistry Is Essential For An Average Individual Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the arrangement, structure, and change of matter. As a student interested in nursing, it is required to take the course of chemistry among many other pre requisite courses. When reviewing the course syllabus I thought to myself, What is this stuff, and when am I going to ever use it in Nursing? Also to all incoming non science majors who are required to take chemistry, this course may be the last course you would even think about taking. Believe it or not, there is more to chemistry besides science. I ve learned that chemistry is actually an interesting field of study. Chemistry actually plays a role in everyone s lives and touches almost every feature of our existence in some way. The lessons I learned throughout this course can actually apply to the everyday life of an average individual. Even for those non science majors, the lessons from this course can most likely be applied to not only your major, but more importantly your survival on Earth. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, health, clothing, shelter, energy, clean air, water, and soil. Having chemistry knowledge is worthwhile because it provides a basis for understanding the physical universe we live in. Throughout this course, I found how almost every lesson could apply to everyday life. For instance I found the lessons of the basic concepts of matter , measurements in chemistry and chemical equations, along with the study of solvents

In the ancient times and present time, several forces are always encountered when building bridges. The forces determine how big or sturdy a bridgewill be. There are several types of bridges, such as the girder bridge, arch bridge, truss bridge, and suspension bridge. Bridges have been used for a great amount of time. The truss was developed during the Industrial Revolution when people were finding ways to develop better girder bridges. These trusses are now used to stabilize and support other bridges, such as suspension bridges. Trusses are used widely because the truss pattern is rigid and can dissipate weight throughout the truss. They can be commonly found on girder bridges, because the truss pattern evens out the forces of tension and compression. A deck truss, a type of truss bridge, is classified by having its roadway above the truss. A through truss is another type of truss bridge that has the truss above the roadway. There are various types of truss patterns, which include the K truss, the Pratt truss, the Warren truss, and the Howe

Though many politicians of the day say that government should be in a separate category than religion, it still plays an important role. That is why when doing anything, a business deal, or a diplomatic trip, there needs to be cautionary measures taken. Albright believes a goal should be set by the government, In the future, no American ambassador should be assigned to a country where religious feelings are strong unless he or she has a deep understanding of the faiths commonly practiced there (29). In the 3rd Meditation, Descartes attempts to prove that God (I) exists (ii) is the cause of the essence of the meditator, and (iii) the cause of the meditator s existence. In order to confirm the truth of clear and distinct perceptions, however, he must prove the existence of a benevolent God. If God were a deceiver, he could be deceived even with respect to his clear and distinct perceptions. Descartes states that there are three types of ideas: Innate, Fictitious, and Adventitious. This proof relies on causal reasoning, suggesting that there must be a cause of the idea of God that is as great as God himself. Though my idea of God might have come from my father, and my father s idea of God might have come from a priest, the suggestion is that at the end of that causal chain, there is a first cause, which is God. The proof of the first cause is usually used in pointing out that there must be some unmoved mover at the source of all change in this universe. However, this proof has since been discredited, since it relies on a faulty understanding of causation which assumes, among other things, that all causal chains must have a first term. No proof of the existence of God is widely accepted today, and the search for such a proof is no longer a hot philosophical topic. While there is still disagreement over whether or not God exists and what God s nature is, it is generally agreed that God s existence cannot be proved through a feat of the

Battle Of Sicily Essay The history of Sicily, the largest island of the Mediterranean Sea, has been shaped by many different populations, which have dominated its territory mainly because of its strategic geographical position. The first populations on the Sicilian territory, according to the official history, were the Sicani, the Sicels and the Elymians, considered as the native populations of Sicily. After them, many other populations of the Mediterranean basin, such as Egyptians, Phoenicians and Iberians, stayed in Sicily. About 750 BC, the Greeks began to live in Sicily, establishing many important settlements. The Hellenic culture was well accepted by the local population, and the island became part of Magna Graecia. Meanwhile, Sicily has been disputed between Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans in the Punic Wars, which saw the victory of Rome . Hence, Sicily became a Roman province, being controlled by a Roman consul and spreading Roman culture and Latin language through the population (Norwhich, 2007, ch.V) After the fall of the Western Roman Empirein 5th century, the island was conquered frequently by different populations, in fact, during the Middle Ages it was ruled in turn by...
