Health Systems Can Not Be An Open Society
Today, not everyone has equal opportunities and access to health care. Not everyone respects
individuals the same due to their physical features: skin color, texture of hair, and body type. As
individuals, we promote inclusion, respect for diversity, and support initiatives, which eliminate
disparities and create open, healthy societies. In order to be an open society, one must have an
open mind for co workers, patients and self discipline to laws.
Open Society
An open society is considered to be utopia (Nyswander, 1985). Health systems cannot be an open
society because it is impossible to be perfect. But an open society is achievable. Health systems
strive to improve their laws and workers by using an open society as an ideal goal. In an open
society health providers respect their coworkers and patients, future laws, and abide the rules.
Workers in an open society are all free men , who are self disciplined, respect for rational order,
and accept conformity to laws for the general good, and trust others (Nyswander, 1985). Free men
understand how to work with workers efficiently through communication. By working as a whole,
the health system is successful at treating and saving patients lives.
Promoting Inclusion
As individuals, we have to promote inclusion. In an open society, people need to always brainstorm
new goals to improve the system. Goals are accomplished when everyone works together
comfortably. Everyone should be included in the task, such as,

Then I put on my knee pads and tennis shoes. I pulled my hair into a ponytail. Finally, I filled up

Using Vernacular Architecture And On The Passive...
According to Natural History Museum (2015), modern humans have been around for nearly
200,000 years, and in our journey to the present, humans have learnt many ways to survive. From
hygiene to hyperplasia, people have come to know the best way possible to survive in the living
conditions they lived. To help protect themselves from sun, wind, rain, snow and even enemies, one
of the methods used is what today is called vernacular architecture.
The practice of designing and constructing a building today may seem easy with modern technology
at our finger tips, however 500 years, one can imagine the difficulties, trial and errors the inhabitants
of different geographical locations had to go through just to provide suitable shelter for themselves.
These trail and errors throughout the history have benefited many civilizations and bring forward
bundles of knowledge. For this reason, the objective of this research report is to explore vernacular
architecture and to expand on the passive engineering techniques used in times when technology
was not so readily available as we have today. Also, an analysis of the different lessons learnt from
these techniques will help determine the contribution it has made to sustainable architecture and
awareness.
Vernacular Architecture
What is it?
Vernacular architecture can be described as one of the many methods, which are used in
construction. Vernacular architecture tends to evolve over time to reflect the environmental, cultural

The Formulation Of Public Policy
Sherri Torjman seems not to answer her own question, What is Policy as she skirts articulating
any concrete definition of policy as she attempts to explain what it is. She attempts to succinctly
describe policy, stating, At the end of the day, the formulation of public policy involves a process
of making good decisions for the public good (2005, p. 18) but this is a description of how policyis
made and fails to define policy. Levison and Sutton (2001) also define policy as a verb by
equating policy as a practice of power (p. 2). This definition implies that policymakers are
powerful when in there have been times in our history that marginalized groups of people
acquired more power as a result of policy. Groups such as the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered community (or communities, depending on your perspective), could hardly be
described as powerful yet they are moving public perception and policy initiatives in new
directions with rapidity politicians either envy or decry. Levison and Sutton (2001) state that
policy is a fluid and negotiated (Levison Sutton, 2001, p. 3) means to govern (p. 3) diverse
people and their values; it is a tug of war contrasting , values, desires, wants, and needs. Yet this
description of what policy is remains insufficient; policy is not just a means to govern. Means or
methods to govern implies lots of things besides or in addition to policy: with a big stick, by
coalition building, or as a compassionate

The Stomatognathic System
The stomatognathic system (SS) is composed by dynamic and static components that requires
balance and control determine by the central nervous system (CNS), which makes them responsible
for the harmonious functioning and to perform different tasks (to speak, to break food down, and
to swallow). The SS is characterized by: skeletal components, dental arches, soft tissues, and
temporomandibular joint and masticatory muscles.(Cuccia and Caradonna 2009; Garcia de Paula
Silva, Francisco Wanderley, Mussolino de Queiroz, Alexandra, DГ
az Serrano, Kranya Victoria.
2008) Posture refers to the position of the human body and its orientation in space. This involves
muscles activation that are controlled by the CNS, which guide postural adjustments. These
modifications can be induced by afferent inputs like: exteroceptive, proprioceptive, vestibular an
visual; all of them modulated by different factors, such as anxiety and mood state. (Cuccia and
Caradonna 2009). Temporomandibular disorders (TMD), is a set of disorders characterized by

Different Types Of Computer Protocols
A protocol is most simply defined as a standard. These standards define how computers are able
to communicate with each other. These standards are defined in documents called Request for
Comments( RFC ) which is a formal document from an organization known as the Internet
Engineering Task Force( IETF ). These documents are made publicly available so that any
program that needs to use these protocols are able to configure them properly so that it works
with all other programs that make use of the same protocol. There are thousands of protocols that
exist and many of them are very common and others are very seldom used. Some of the most
common protocols are HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SSH and DNS. Many of these are
used almost every... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
POP3 is used when downloading an email from the email server to a client. IMAP functions
similarly to POP3 in that its function is very similar. It is used when downloading emails from
mail servers. There are a few differences between the two. With IMAP the mail client is synced
with the mail server. An example of this would be reading an email on a mail client( Outlook
Express ) and this change being reflected on the mail server. This differs from POP3 because
POP3 would not update the mail server, and the fact that the email was read would only be
visible on that mail client. The next protocol is very important and called Secure Shell( SSH ).
This protocol uses port 22 by default and is inc readably useful. Its intended purpose is to
connect to a host that has an SSH server running and open a remote shell that is encrypted. This
offers a lot of possibilities that make remote administration secure. One of the additional functions
that SSH provides is the ability to create tunnels. The amount of possibilities with SSH tunnels is
endless. It allows unencrypted protocols to pass through an encrypted tunnel and can repeated
several times over several hosts to further encapsulate and secure data. The final protocol listed is
the Domain Name Server. This protocol is used when a computer knows the domain name of a
server and not the IP address. Unfortunately computers are not able to put a domain name in a layer

The Steps Of Humility And Pride, A Guide For People...
This paper was supposed to be about the my take on Bernard of Clairvaux s The Steps of
Humility and Pride, a guide for people seeking the truth in God. I say supposed because as I read
Bernard s work, I found something entirely different from what I was expecting. What I expected
was a man of holy nature rambling on about how we should excuse ourselves from pride, as it
stains the true potential of the human soul. At that point, it would almost seem inappropriate to
berate the views he has over pride and humility, like yelling at somebody s grumpy grandfather.
The lack of sport would ve dragged on my being, leading me to crank out a uninteresting paper
where I just disagree with this old cleric. And I know, that is definitely a presumptuous route to take
mentally, the irony of writing about pride and humility was not beyond me at this realization.
Instead, what I happened to find was a short, honest guide about how to find truthin our lives.
Before I continue with this pleasant discovery, some background history needs to be established.
Bernard of Clairvauxwas a devout christian who believe in the notion of the Holy Trinity, as well
as the rest of the religionthat comes with it. He was born from a noble family, and was well
educated. I think this is what pleased me so much, that a rich man like Bernard could live a
lavished life then turn towards humility. It genuinely bettered my opinion of him. I, on the other
hand, am not a firm believer in the Christian religion.

Bullying
Bullying Phoebe Nora Prince was born in England but at a young age moved to Fanore, County
Clare, Ireland. You can t get more rural than Fanore, it has one main street, blink and you miss it.
In fact the West of Ireland is notoriously rural and unspoiled. Fanore is nestled on the Irish Sea
and is 10 miles from Quilty, the village where my Grandmother came from in County Clare. When
I heard about this young girl taking her life after being subjected to bullying, it really hit home for
me. My heart broke for her. All I could think was that she was like a lamb to slaughter. Thrown into
an American High School, there was no way this sheltered child could have coped with such a sea
change in culture. The District Attorney when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had a choice to do the right thing here and he didn t. According to the WhiteHouse.Gov website:
Bullies themselves are also at risk for long term negative outcomes. Several studies suggest that
bullying in early childhood may be an early sign of the development of violent tendencies,
delinquency, and other criminal behavior.
I believe that while bullying in and of itself is not delinquent behavior, it does have the potential
to lead to delinquent behavior. But there s a flip side of bullying and delinquency, according to
the Pardee RAND Graduate School dissertation No Bullies Allowed , Results show that
victimization prior to the age of 12 years is significantly predictive of the development of several
delinquent behaviors, including running away from home, selling drugs, vandalism, theft, other
property crimes, and assault. Ultimately the parent of the bully bears the responsibility for
bullying. They need to address the situation with their child, getting help for the child s aggressive
behavior. But like so much of life, issues must be attacked on all fronts. Schools, police, parents,
peers, courts all have a part to play in solving the problem. The Benjamin Franklin School in
Ridgewood, NJ had a great idea in bringing 8th grade students to speak to 6th graders, explaining to
the students the importance of staying off social media and telling the students to speak to the
guidance counselor, one the students

Japanese Immigration Research Paper
The focus of this personal reflection paper is to share my discoveries about what I expected to find
in class and what actually happened. It is to show that despite my preconceived notions of what
immigration entails, immigration is not only to the United States. Additionally, it is to show that
one perspective in immigrationdebates in the US does not confer a standard of dialogue in an
immigration debate outside the US. I suppose that since we are all immigrants, since I am an
immigrant, I imagined that we our experiences sometimes the same or similar. My thoughts after
reading on Japanese immigration reflect differently.
To begin, when I lived in Lesotho, I had the opportunity to see others who were immigrants from
Japan, Korea, China, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example classify proximity to Japan as blood thinness was a new phenomenon to me. The
Japanese immigration presents for me a different landscape from the one I see in the immigration
news in the US beecause it brings to view several forms of discrimination of Japanese by Japanese
in Japan, and compounds that with problems immigrants face worldwide including in the United
Staes.
What I learn from reading about immigration in Japan is that those of Japanese descent fromm
Brazil, Peru or Argentina trying to return home face constant battles with Their identiy and other
Psychologocal impacts of transnational immigration. Apparently, the Political evolution lag that
still allows leaders to continue oppressive immigration policies are also well and alive in Japan.
TyokoYamamoto s paper titled, Migrant support NGOs and the Challenge to the Discourse on
Foreign Criminality in Japan shows that the Japanese facts and figures continue to successsfully
portray migrants and criminals either perpetuating new crimes or making a crime worse. Elaborate
charts create immediate apprehension and an adrenaline rush to sensitize and create panic among
citizens and legal residents. This in turn threatens the mythological perception of Japan as

human trafficking Essay
human trafficking issues:
the article starts out with a clear emphasis on the cooperation between the different segments of
society; cooperation between the state, civil society , and religious groups and institutions on the
issues of human trafficking and prostitution, stating how they are immoral, illegal, unethical and
how they should be considered as a taboo by societies in Europe, especially Cyprus since the
exploitation of women has been rapidly increasing recently. Where all the 800bars and 70 cabarets

such as profit and pleasure, which may seem as lame reasons when compared to the life and future
of a young woman. The article also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights helped increase
public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent women are exploited. the article
was completely pro the abolishment of trafficking and prostitution practices and there were no
arguments or debates in defense of the practices taking place in society.
There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the improvement of the
existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to fix later on, which would lead to a
degraded corrupted society in the possible near future. as the article mentioned, churches should be
a big part in the process of helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them.
Also, the public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in the
issue of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees.
Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by arresting
traffickers, which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar situations. These among
many other solutions deal with the short term perspective of these issues, but more extreme issues
should be taken into deep consideration for the general prevalence of such isuues to be
significantly reduced in the Cypriot society. But these major global problems are unfixable due to

Cell Phone Radiation May Help Alzheimer s Disease Essay
Every 71 seconds in this country, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease and in a startling
new report out today from the Alzheimer s Association, predicts that one out of every eight baby
boomers or almost 10 milllion Americans is expected to develop this disease, (Mckenzie). The
University of South Florida has led a study along with the Alzheimer s Disease Research Center
which has abandoned the idea that cell phone radiation is detrimental to our health. The experiment
studied the effects of cell phones on Alzheimer s. Professor Arendash, started this study by noticing
that the students in the hallway of the university had cell phones plastered to their ears. He set up
the experiment with lab mice, beaming electromagnetic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These mice kept strong memories and performed just as well as normal mice which suggests
that the radiation could have protected their memories. Mice, who were transgenic, began the
radiation treatment at five months old when memories had begun to deteriorate. In such cases,
the radiation seemed to stop further memory loss and in some mice, the radiation may have
reversed the memory loss. According to the health physics society, radiation is an energy that
comes from a source and travels through space which may be able to penetrate various
materials. In the past few weeks of our chemistry class I have learned that atoms whom have an
unstable nuclei are radioactive, these atoms give off excess energy which are radiation rays.
Radiation varies from gamma, beta, and alpha rays. Gamma rays have the shortest wavelengths
and highest frequencies. Gamma rays are the most energetic form of light produced by the hottest
regions of the universe and emitted by the nucleus of radioactive atoms. Because of this, gamma
rays are used to penetrate tissue property, such as in the use of CT scans, and radiation therapy.
Alpha particles are also ejected by the nuclei of unstable atoms; however, they are large and
consist of two protons and two neutrons. Although alpha particles have a high mass, they are the
most destructive form of radiation with a low penetrating force; a single piece of paper can block
alpha particles. Beta particles are much

Essay On Effective Teacher
This past semesters has been an eye opening experience that has changed my views on teacher.
Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a fourth grade teacher. However after being
placed in a second grade classroom my views have changed. I liked the idea of teaching fourth
grade because my fourth grade teacher was my inspiration in life. When I was in Ms. Petro s
class I enjoyed being able to watch the students progress over time. Being able to see the drastic
improvements in little children is very rewarding and that is why I want to continue to teach
lower grades. I have learned that being a teacher requires a special someone, a person who knows
that sometimes you will have to deal with tough situations leaving you exhausted and feeling like
you are not able to help more. But at the same time, being a teacher allows one to be a visionary for
the world and those who surround you. Many educators will argue what makes an effective teacher
and how that correlates with the function of the classroom. When we talked about how to be an
effective teacher we discussed three components, teaching through problem solving and selecting
appropriate tasks, creating appropriate environments and using appropriate interventions. In my
field experience, I was able to observe these three effective mathematics teaching components and
understand how they apply to the classroom. After leaning about these components, I was then able
to use them in my personal experience and see how they

Planet Of Slums By Mike Davis
In the book, Planet of Slums Mike Davis discusses, why there are mast migration from the rural
villages to the megacities of the Third World. What megacities are is a city when the total
population in it exceeds over eight million. He also discusses how the treason of the state,
international banks and the ideas thinkers like Hernando de Soto makes the lives of people in the
urban south much worse. Urban south are cities like Mexico City, Delhi, Dhaka, Cairo, Beijing,
Lima and etc (Davis 4) that experience in major increase in population by more than ten times its
size from 1950 to 2004, it is cities in the third world. Mike Davis believed that, the government,
international banks and thinkers such as Hernando de Soto are the one responsible for making the
condition in the urban south terrible for the poor while good only for the officials and the rich.
Mike Davis says that after 1950, people moved from villages to the cities despite knowing that
the condition in those cities are bad. [In urban south people are poor and hungry so they do any
job to make money. Such as, picking up cigarette bud, selling body parts, and etc]An example that,
Mike Davis gives is why the population in the cities at china is increasing.
It is, instead, the small to medium sized cities and recently city ized towns that have absorbed the
majority of the rural labor power made redundant by post 1979 market reforms. In part, this is the
result of conscious planning: since the 1970s the

Role Of Federalism In Mexico
Prior to gaining independence, Mexico was a thriving colony that was beginning to find its footing
in international trade, but inner conflicts within the government structure which had been
increasing dramatically, caused a great divide among citizens. Fueled by the disagreement between
staying under the tight restrictions of Spain s bourbon reforms or creating their own nation to
which Mexico would govern itself, a tug of war ignited as each side argued for their respective
policies to be put in place. Mexico gaining their independence in 1821 was the main cause which
created the standoff between centralism (eventually conservatism) and federalism(soon evolved to
liberalism) as the two main contenders for governmentpolicies. For three... Show more content on

NBA fans minds. However, foreign players are just as capable of fitting into and improving a

Female Representation Of Women During Star Wars
A very short time ago, in a world very well known, the famous Star Wars movies were brought to
creation. George Lucas originally exposed the original Star Wars in 1977, and it has continued to
up to present day. The ideas Lucas created through these movies helped evolve other films. One of
the things that the prior Star Warsdidn t evolve though was female representation in movies. The
representation of women in past Star Wars films compared to the most recent Star Wars film has
substantially evolved in the characterization of females. Through watching all Star Wars films, I
can personally say that there was a dramatic change in how females were perceived in past Star
Wars films compared to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Princess Leia was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These types of clothing consisted of avoidable tears in shirts and other clothing to show off her

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a female character was portrayed as one of the stormtroopers
captains. Captain Phasma, however, was not portrayed like most female characters in past
films. Instead of being depicted as a sexual and dependent character, her script and costume
conveyed otherwise. Captain Phasma wore an outfit similar to an average stormtrooper of any
gender that did not sexualize her character. As well as this, the script used for her character
showed little correlation to the stereotypical female presentation in prior films. It consisted of
her characters script corresponding to how a stormtrooper captain would behave. She was not
there to please the audience, or act sexy, but instead to play a part in the movie. Another
representation of this is the female character, Rey. This character was given the opportunity to
develop into who she was, not for the purpose of a man. Rey is one of the most prominent
characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her character spends no time developing for a man
but instead trying to do what is right. Her characters attire, similar to Captain Phasma, is not based
to please the audience, but instead based on the particular situation she was in. As well as these
characters, there was Maz

Key Features Of The Biological And Psychoanalytic Approach...
What are the core assumptions and key features of the biological and psychoanalytic perspectives
in psychology? In what ways are they similar and how do they differ? The biological approach
focuses on the physiological causes of behaviour based on genetics, brain physiology and
biochemistry. This approach also adopts the view that biology is adapted based on the environment
an organism is in and therefore most behaviours serve an evolutionary purpose. Research is gained
through a nomothetic approach that uses scientific methods. The psychoanalytical approach
focuses on instincts, childhood experiences and the unconscious mind as motivators for behaviour.
An idiographic approach is adopted from the case studies Freud used to develop his theory,
however, Freud also attempted to apply general laws of behaviour using a nomothetic approach.
There are several similarities within the two approaches: they both draw on nature and nature, are
deterministic, materialistic and internal approaches. Additionally, both have practical applications
in modern life. However, some differences between the two are that the biological approach
accounts for external forces as well as internal whilst psychodynamic does not. The psychodynamic
approach places greater emphasis on unobservable forces unlike the biological approach that
primarily looks at observable structures although often in animals rather than humans. The
biological approach studies behaviour using a nomothetic method. Of all

The Use Of Weather In Santa Ana By Joan Didion
In the essay Santa Ana Joan Didion uses a variety of rhetorical devices to broadcast the idea that
the weather can actually set the mood and reputation of a town. She also show cases that the
attitude of people around us can have an effect on the way we view things. I can relate to this
because most of the time we learn about things it is from our peers, so their attitude will wear off
on us when we come into that situation. With this essay she emphasizes that a place can be very
important for he because of what it represents. I can agree with her on this because there are
several places for me that represent important experiences that I ve had in my life.
The speaker references the horrible weather in Santa Ana and how the wind could change the
mindset of the people who live there. She describes it as being depressing the type of weather that
no one liked yet it effected everyone. She describes the town in a very unearthly manner. She
speaks of how the wind in Santa Ana would commonly underestimated because there were so many
people from other countries who believed that California s weather was monotone, meaning that it
always stayed the same with no extremes. She expresses her truth that the weather infected the air
with violence. Throughout the essay she is uneasy which is shown by her use of mysterious words.
The author begins the essay with a tone that is kind of spooky which puts the reader in an
unsettling mindset. There is something uneasy in the Los Angeles air this afternoon, some
unnatural stillness, some tension. What it means is that tonight a Santa Ana will begin to blow, a
hot wind from the northeast whining down through the Cajon and San Gorgonio Passes,
blowing up sand storms out along Route 66, drying the hills and the nerves to flash point. Here
she uses imagery to assist her audience in becoming as engaged in her surroundings as she is.
Doing this also helps her audience feel the same way as the speaker, who seems to be frightened
and anxious about what could happen next. She is told stories of how the natives responded to the
wind changing the way it is currently. As she is listens to the stories of the town it s as if she is
listening to stories that go along with a haunted house

Anteaters Research Paper
Anteaters are edentates. Edentates are animals that do not have teeth. Anteaters do not eat
apples, but they eat about 30,000 ants and terminates a day. The anteater uses its large sharp
claws to rip open an anthill or termite mound. Then he uses a very long, sticky tongue to catch
them. Anteaters walk on their knuckles so their long claws don t hurt them. A baby anteater is
called a pup and rides on its mom s back for about a year. When an anteater feels threatened, it
will stand on its hind legs, hold its arms out wide and show its claws. Can you stand up tall, hold

Annotated Feedback
To conclude, the idea of teaching writing with CALL definitely offers much in the way of learning
value. Particularly the concept of giving feedback to a learner in a variety of approaches gives
more potential for learning than previously ever predicted. The many different forms of feedback
discussed in this assignment isolate different learningmethods and responses from a student. There
are two studies that look specifically into how effective online learning environments are and both
indicated that automated feedback adds significance to student writing, although students do not
appear to enjoy the process as much as being in a classroom. These studies identify two important
points, that learning how to write should be engaging and that other real people tend to make it
more so. Of these two studies, one was a huge data sample and one was... Show more content on

It was found that embedded audio feedback is not as preferred by the students as written
feedback, even though it offered much more detail to the specific feedback being given. This was
probably to do with the technology but if students were asynchronously checking their writing, it
needs to be simple and attractive for them to enjoy doing it. With written feedback, the information
is present in front of the student to quickly adapt their writing. In regards to synchronous and
asynchronous feedback from a teacher, synchronous was preferred whilst writing, although
asynchronous does have its place. Students struggled to determine the learning value if they were
not correcting their work as they wrote and returning to fix it later made the work more tiresome.
Additionally, peer feedback was less preferred than teacher feedback in online settings. This is
probably because peer feedback is not always trustworthy and often peers do not know how to
correct what needs

The History Of The Slave Trade
The history of the slave trade is one that most people would want to forget. Though, forgetting
such an important era in the history of the world is not only wrong but a recipe for repeating
other such mistakes. According to Capone (2007), more than 11 million Africans were taken to
the New World in the period between the 16th and mid 19th centuries. More than any other colony
in the Americas: Brazil received the largest portion of the slaves. The Brazilian coastline was
especially a major hosting ground for the new Africans who were arriving from the western African
states including Bight of Benin, Senegambia, Bight of Biafra, as well as other regions in West
Central Africa. The huge number of Africans would over the years dominate the... Show more

The first European to uncover Brazil was Pedro Alveres Cabral, who made the discovery in
1500. Consequently, the Europeans settled in Brazil with the initial intention of harvesting
Brazilian wood, however, sugar was found to grow very well in Brazil. The profits of sugar went
further than those that were being reaped from the wood; which meant sugar would become the
main Brazilian export. Over time, Brazil made a name for itself as the production of not just the
best sugar, but also the main producer in the Atlantic world. Therefore, the nature of the sugar
trade and its growth created challenges within the farming process that turned out to be very labor
intensive. The reality was very few European farmers, which made it a task for them to meet the
proper labor demands while the native population was not very effective in handling the pressures
that were distinctive in the sugar plantations. This forced the sugar farmers to resort to importing
labor in the form of slaves. In the initial stages, the Portuguese were getting about 5,000 slaves
annually. These slaves were mainly gotten from Angola and in West Africa and were being sent to
Brazil (Behrendt, 1997).
As time moved on, the number of slaves being transported to Brazil continued to increase
recurrently. According to Selka (2007), more than a million slaves had been imported to Brazil by
the turn of the 18th century.

Comparing Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the 1972 Film...
Bram Stoker s Dracula is not only a classic story of men and monsters, but a dramatic reactionary
work to the perceived threats to Victorian society in nineteenth century England. In modern times
there have been many film adaptations of the novel, each developing a unique analysis or criticism
of the literary text within the framework of the society and time period in which it was created.
The 1972 film Blacula is one of the most culturally specific variations on the story of Dracula, and
highlights many of the themes and messages found in Stoker s original text. Among the primary
similarities between the novel and the film is the portrayal of race, sexuality, nationality, and
culture, and the characterization in each work speaks to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Dracula is of mixed racial heritage and blood in the whirlpool of European races, a concept
which would have been fearful to the novel s white, upper class English audience. This
widespread xenophobia, a fear and hatred of foreigners, was a reaction by Victorian England to
the perceived threat of outsiders to white genetic purity. Dracula s real threat is not in the physical
destruction of Western Europe, but in the assimilation, reproduction, and infestation caused by the
literal and figurative mixing of his barbarian animal blood with that of the superior English race.
The concept of eugenics, the qualitative and quantitative improvement of the human genome
(Galton 99), gained widespread popularity during Stoker s lifetime and became a prevalent
theme in the works of many authors aiming to make a social commentary or criticism on the
invasion of England by foreign peoples. Adolph Hitler would later adopt eugenic ideals in the
intended creation of a master race, one which victimized many of the same groups and relied upon
almost identical anti Semitic imagery as the earlier Victorian proponents (Hauner 15). Race is a
key element in the movie Blacula, in which the film s eponymous villain is an ancient African
prince cursed by Count Dracula to walk the earth for eternity in search of human blood. Blacula is
literally and metaphorically an updated version of the Transylvanian count, adapted for a primarily

Communism Socialist And Communism
Part I proved what should be obvious: That governments are composed of groups of people and
that socialist and communist governments are groups of people who collectively and directly own
or regulate the means of production. Thus, the Leftist talking point that failed socialist and
communist regimes of the past and present weren t really socialist and communist has been shown
to be a lie.
In this part we will demonstrate that the practical implications of this deception are dysfunctional in
the extreme because their programme can only be implemented by force of arms and governments
never give up power voluntarily.
It can be shown via the logic of the dictionary definitions that governments are merely groups of
people with the authority to govern a particular region, state or nation. And that socialist and
communist governments are merely groups of people who collectively own or regulate the means
of production.
One is supposed to ignore the obvious and instead pretend that a group of people collectively and
directly owning or regulating the means of production is some other vague entity but not a
government. The socialists will also insist that these reality defying facts absolve them of any
responsibility for the mass murder and repression by the people collectively and directly owning or
regulating the means of production. And why would they try to deceive the world over something
like that?

A Brief Note On The Green Building Movement
The Green Building Movement North American homes, offices and other buildings contribute an
estimated 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year more than one third of
the continent s greenhouse gas pollution output (Biello). Global warming is a worldwide issue that
is thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is
one of the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone
layer causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are
simple methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green buildingis a building
process that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout
the whole building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up
to the demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is
very important throughout each stage in the project. This process can lead to a much better and
easier way to help the global warming issue throughout the world. Many people may oppose to
green building because of the higher cost for new equipment and materials that are environmental
friendly (Rajendran). Although there are new technologies that are beginning to help some current
environmental safety issues, these technologies are being developed for the same reasons that
people are encouraging green

Stephen Crane and Mark Twain have very influential works, which help uncover the truth about
America s situation without any optimism to show the reality of the ignored parts of society.
Crane and Twain let readers perceive the novels how they wish, and through the acceptance of

change to push new ideas out to society. By looking at the core American values of materialism
and individualism it is evident that Maggie: Girl of the Streets and Adventures of Huckleberry...

Twain and Crane use characters that have to define themselves and decide what is best for their
personal beliefs. Crane represents this as well when Maggie has to try and move out of her
situation, but ends up not being able to as she becomes too reliant on Pete. In Twain s novel, Jim
and Huck run away from home and travel down the Mississippi River, and Jim gets taken and
sold back into the slave trade. Huck has to decide if he wants to save Jim and break societal
norms or get help from his original owners which will enslave Jim, but make Huck conform and
be closed to challenging society. Huck then realizes that he is fine with being different from
how society looks at him, as long as Huck can do what he wants, not what society wants him to

being able to step back and question itself. Twain does this because there will always be deeply
rooted morals which cause issues to never be resolved. Nevertheless, Huck is not the only
character to realize what he can do; Jim runs away from slavery to make a new life as a free man
and wants to be different from the past life of slavery. As the 20th century approaches, there has to

Abortion a Problem for Teenage Girls
Abortion a problem for teenage girls
The purpose of this essay is to bring awareness to the medical procedure of abortion, which is a
very dangerous procedure that needs to be solved. The target audience is those teenage girls that
are deciding to abort using irrelevant procedures. This problem is an increasing trend that is
affecting younger and younger girls as time passes due to poor sex education involvement in
schools, and family discussions. Sometimes girls have rational reasons of why they decide to
abort, like when they have serious diseases, when their economic situation is not the best, or when
they were victims of sexual abuse. Thus, there have been many cases in which girls just decide to

Also, the articles from Olukoya amp; Kaya, relate to the one from Cumberland because they state
that girls should have private advising at schools in order to orient them towards the right track.
Even though, Cumberland goes more into detail about what s one of the ways to solve the
problem, like implementing sex based classes in schools, the article also heads the same approach
to promote counseling to pregnant girls. Cumberland, as well as Olukoya amp; Kaya approach the
problem of abortion based on education programs available, how these programs might help parents
understand the situation of their daughters, and how they can help them make the right decision.
Also, the second solution to undecided abortions is to telling relative girls trust in order to receive
emotional or economic assistance. This solution is really good when the communication within the
family is good, but it s not the best solution to the problem. The reason for this is because
sometimes family members can have emotional conflicts, and they might not take the idea of
pregnancy positively. This can affect the girl s decision because their feelings are dependent on
their background; they can feel shyness, fear, or anger towards the idea of pregnancy. Additionally,
girls can end up killing the baby and themselves because they were not aware of the correct
precautions to take when aborting. On the other hand, sometimes telling a relative can bring many
positive effects on the decision because

There Will Come Soft Rain Technology Essay

One of the many magnificent features of the house is the automated kitchen. This kitchen pampered
the family by preparing each meal, washing the dishes, and serving them all at the dinner table,
all responsibilities you would expect of a typical household. Early in the text, Bradbury
comprehensively describes the kitchen s seemingly perfect nature, In the kitchen the breakfast
stove gave a hissing sigh and ejected from its warm interior eight pieces of perfectly browned
toast, eggs sunnyside up, sixteen slices of bacon, two coffees, and two cold glasses of milk
(There Will Come Soft Rains 1). The precision and accuracy of the breakfast prepared was
impeccable: the milk cold, eggs and toast prepared to perfection, and exactly sixteen slices of
bacon to feed a family. With such an ideal, why would anyone need or want to cook breakfast,
when their effort could easily be replaced? Instead of relying on themselves, one would instead
choose to rely on this automated kitchen. The more someone ceases to rely on themselves, the less
responsible they ultimately become. Therefore, Bradbury s brief, yet powerful, use of imagery
supports the idea that it in such a technologically advanced environment, taking on basic

Magna Carta Historical Documents
DSPA There was many documents that influenced the writing of the constitution. Some people may
say we stole parts from them, but I believe we borrowed them and made them better. We made them
better because they were now part of the United States of America. From the Magna Carta to the
Articles of Confederation, writings all around the world influenced the US constitution. Even
though we copyrighted some of the constitution it is still one of the most ingenious writings in the
world. The first document to influence the constitution was the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta
declared everyone was subject to law, even the king. It also said that no one could be put through
cruel or unusual punishment. Another thing it said was the everyone had the right to a fair trial

Magna Carta influenced many parts of the constitution. The first thing it influenced was that the
king and government were bound to the same laws as the citizens. This means that the king and the
government weren t above the law, just like the president and US government. Another thing that is
similar is the right to a fair and speedy trial just like in the bill of rights. The last area that is similar
is that no one could be put through cruel and unusual punishment. That is just one of many
historical documents that influenced the constitution.

Improving Quality Of Video Content Service
Abstract
With the rapid growth of technological advancements globally in the field of Cloud computing,
there s been a tremendous change in the number of customers accessing the cloud. At this point
of time the question which arises is the quality of service i.e. streaming performance provided by
cloud service providers which is a factor of bandwidth. The streaming performance is degraded
whenever we download video content from the cloud because downloading a high quality or

method the amount of bandwidth is also too high and costly. This paper mainly concentrates on

Many of gadgets are totally dependent on cloud for file transfer and storage of data. Not only
has it stored the data it also provides the security for the data present in cloud with less cost. The
services provided by cloud are Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS),
Software as a service (SaaS), Saas users use an application software and databases, the Saas
services include Google, YouTube, drives etc(1). The main purpose of this research is the concern
we are having towards improving the efficiency of the video content traffic because of its majority
contribution in internet traffic.
Presently, File downloading based on automotive mode switch (AMS) algorithm, this approach
is an effective but video content downloading does not always give good performance (3). When
AMS method is used the internet buffering is less but the bandwidth is high and costly (3).
Moreover AMS algorithm uses peers in order to provide the requested video by users (3), if the
video is so long then it would take more peers in order to provide video, when there are more
peers there is no proper scheduling of peers due to which when we want to get some unpopular
video the peers provide a low quality video. By using our proposed method we are going to solve
the problem of bandwidth and cost because agents provide their bandwidth resources constantly at a
much lesser price.

Ignorance During The Middle Ages
If you look at different time periods throughout history from a historian s point of view, the
Middle Ages is a era widely accepted to be a period of ignorance where little to no advancement
took place. Superstition replaced philosophical thinking, and religion overpowered everything else.
The Renaissance however, was the polar opposite. It was a rebirth of European civilization and
often characterized by the escalation of interest in classical learning and values. During the
Renaissanceground breaking invention or application of influential innovations took place with
paper, printing, the mariner s compass, and gunpowder. There were significant changes in science,

Many agree that the science of archaeology had its birth in the classical revival. The Roman ruins
were the first object that attracted the devoted curiosity of the Italian scholars. Due the rise of
humanism and critical thinking, the artifacts that remained inherently sparked a need to understand
a history of their ancestors. During the Renaissance, the fascination in the history and culture of
past civilizations grew, and lead to exceptional discoveries all over the world. By tracking the
story of mankind, it allowed the scholars of the day as well as present day scholars, to have an
entirely new view of the beginning of history. If it wasn t for the questioning spirit that defined the
Renaissance, there wouldn t have been an urge to explore past cultures using the remains they left
behind. With this new information on past civilizations and a revolutionized form of critical
thinking, came the science of historical criticism. The founder of this field was Laurentius Valla.
His most celebrated achievement was the confirmation of the unauthentic character of the Donation
of Constantine, a forged Roman Imperial decree where emperor Constantine I transferred authority
over the western part of the Roman Empire to the Pope. Vala s achievements paved the way for
historical criticism during the time. He began a period of examining historical sources thoroughly
and discovering its true value. This new

Total war is a government s mobilisation of all its resources to support the efforts of its own

Investigating The Criminal Activity Of Offenders
The logic of some individuals has attempted to justify the criminal activity of offenders. Essentially,
unlawful behavior has been attributed to a number of conditions such as the offender s environment
and the nature of the adversities they have encountered. For example, it can be contended that a
lawbreaker committed an infraction because of the absence of positive adult influences present
during their childhood or that they were compelled by need in which they may have resorted to
stealing as a means of survival. Ultimately, although a degree of reason may exist to warrant an
offender s actions, they cannot evade that fact that they are predominately accountable for their
misconduct. Thus, except in the most exceptional of circumstances, the decision for individuals to
violate the law is impermissible. Burglary is one type of crimein which its severity may be
minimized because physical harm was not sustained by the victims. However, burglary can
deprive victims of their sense of security and strip them of irreplaceable possessions. Furthermore,
such an outcome had materialized when the home of Trinidad and Maria Lupercio was breached.
Overall, a burglary was perpetuated at the Lupercio residence and in Arizona; this particular case
qualifies as burglary in the second degree due to the elements of the crime.

Basque Country, Catalonia, Flanders, Venetian, Bavarian, Corsica and more is coming. Although
each case has its distinct story, they have some common reasons for separatism, for example, due to
long term history tension, culture difference, different national identity perceived by people,
minority groups under representative and economic inequality. Besides, benefits such as regional
sovereign are both motivations and reasons for regions to secede. Many scholars also argue that the
integration of Europe is another spur of the independence movements. However, I will argue that
the effect of European integration on the regional independence is... Show more content on

Its prosperous development of economy also draws labours from the rest of the state. However,
Catalans do not have the control of their own wealth. Every year Catalonia is taxed for about
€20 billion, about 10% of Catalonia s GDP, by the Spanish government and never return back
as social investments (Srmava, 2014). The Spanish government use that money to subsidise other
poorer regions. Staying in Spain now become a brake to the development of Catalonia s
economics. The hypothesis for partition of Belgium is based on the similar story. The state is
divided by language and history and economics inequality into Flanders and Wallonia. The case
for Scotland is a bit different as people use the same language and share the culture. The two major
arguments are the oil and currency. North Sea oil and gas reserves can help Scotland to become one
of the richest countries in the world after independence. Moreover, Scotland led by Salmond wants
to join the common currency union, while the London based government does not. The former said
this is for the good of everyone , because of removal obstacles for transaction within EU and
increasing the competitiveness. The Cameron government argued back that joining a currency
union would reduce the autonomy of economics, and the recent financial crisis showed the fragility
of the euro system at the moment. Although language and culture differences provide good reasons
for separatism literally, in

Oedipus Self Identity Analysis
The implications of self identity are far ranging. The light we view ourselves in determines the
very basics of who we think we are, and what action we think we should take to fulfill our identity;
to make it flourish. Men build these identities on many different foundations. For one man might
say he builds it on the goodness of his heart, another on his career. Yet every foundation, save that
of Jesus Christ, has the tendency to crumble and fall apart beneath us. When the good man realizes
he has sinned; when the career of an old man fades away, their identities are no more. Oedipus, the
mighty king of Thebes, is such a man. In Sophocles Oedipus the King, Oedipus lacked the
unshakable identitythat can only be found in Christ, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The University of Denver published manual in 2012, categorizing how college students view
themselves into twelve areas. These twelve can be simplified into two basic groups: The
performance of an individual (Intellectually, athletically, occupationally, or otherwise), and their
relationships with others. Of these two groups, the latter has been more definitive in our society
today because media influences have put even greater stress on those who build their identity
on relationships. USA Today conducted a survey in 2014, revealing that almost all the college
students they interviewed have had a fear of being left out that has been generated by social
media. Because they have let these relationships define them, they are constantly placed in a
state of potential identity crisis. A relational problem with a group of friends or a partner could
lead to a serious breakdown of how that individual views themselves. Though not as prevalent,
the second group of characteristics based on performance can have an equally severe impact if it
is used to build an identity. Any number of events such as a loss of job, physical injury, academic
failure, failure to reach a goal, and old age can all tear that identity down. As we age, our mind and
body both deteriorate, and with this change can come a host of physical and mental shortcomings.
As the young adults of our nation construct their self identity on performance, they also build it on
their frail bodies which at some point will

Reasons For The Cuban Missile Crisis
During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union
placing missiles in Cuba, known today as the Cuban missile crisis. In attempt to avoid nuclear
conflict and force the removal of the missiles, Kennedy was faced with three options; to bomb the
missile sites and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure
the removal of the missiles. Kennedy decided to blockade Cuba as it was the only option that
would result in the removal of the missiles without it escalating to war. The Cuban missile crisiswas
the closest the Cold Warwas to developing into war. This thirteen day long confrontation between
the United States and the Soviet Unionbegan when the Soviet Union deployed... Show more content

Kennedy had three options: To bomb the missile sites, to bomb the sites and conduct both sea
and airborne landings, or to blockade Cuba and to confirm the transfer of the missiles from the
island. At first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was
whether to let Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union
could have responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it
would be a surprise attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy
reasoned it would not be a good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would
be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an
invasion.Although the air strike proposal was done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against
the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and useless. Not only did they mention that the
blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact that they were already there, but they
also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to do it also. Forcing the removal of
the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove their missiles surrounding the
Soviet Union too, or so they thought. Although a blockade had its cons, it was the safer way to go
and would cause less extreme consequences according to Secretary McNamara and Robert F.
Kennedy. These three proposals all had their cons; Some more than others, but Kennedy managed to

Leadership Development Of Team Captains
This paper is an academic critique of the article by Christian Grandzol, Susan Perlis, and Lois
Draina (2010) entitled, Leadership development of team captains in collegiate athletics. Grandzol,
Perlis, and Draina were attempting to determine if participating in collegiate athletics was
associated with leadershipdevelopment. The authors looked at five leadership practices that were
analyzed through the use of the Student Leadership Practice Inventory developed by James
Kouzes and Barry Posner. The author s research question was Are leadership practices of (A)
model the way, (B) inspire a shared vision, (C) challenge the process, (D) enable others to act, and
(E) Encouraging the heart related to athletic participation and leadership position? (Grandzol,
Perlis, Draina, 2010, p. 405). Although the Grandzol et al were looking at collegiate athletes in
their study, they were trying to answer the age old question; are leaders born or are they developed?
Review of Literature
Leadership has many definitions and has been described by many authors, political leaders, and
common men by different means. The great Green Bay Packers coach, Vince Lombardi, once said;
Leaders aren t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.
And that s the price we ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal. The literature that the
authors reviewed justifies the argument that leaders are developed. Grandzol et al did not find
much literature that

Bokononism In Cat s Cradle
Over the summer, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to read the novel Cat s Cradle by
Kurt Vonnegut. It was an amazing novel. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end and felt like
I was part of the plot. Cat s Cradle starts out as a man s journey to write a story over the atomic
bomb, but a thing called ice nine quickly changes the scenario. Throughout most of the story, the
reader is getting introduced more and more to the religion known as Bokononism, which is the
religion most people on the island of San Lorenzo believe in. The religion was founded by a man
named Bokonon. He helped make San Lorenzo the way it is now. Bokonon is a mysterious man
and is rarely seen by the people. Up until the end of the story, he is continually... Show more content

One major example of this is related to the religion Bokononism. As I stated earlier, most of the
people on the island of San Lorenzo follow Bokononism. Even the President of the country
believes in the religion. Bokonon is a household name on the island. Ironically, it is illegal to be
a Bokononist. If you are caught practicing the religion, you will be put to death. Also, Bokonon
is a fugitive and authorities are searching for him constantly. Isn t that ironic? Another ironic
thing is when the President was about to die. He was in failing health and only had a few hours
left. He told the narrator, who was going to be the next President of San Lorenzo, to catch and
kill Bokonon. Then, the doctor called in a Christian to say his last rites. As soon as the Christian
walked into the room, Papa (the President) said I am a member of the Bokononist faith. Get out
you stinking Christian. Even though Papa has made Bokonon a fugitive and Bokononism illegal,
he still follows the religion that a fugitive created. I think the irony in the story is an example of
how the human race can do very stupid things. Why is Bokonon a fugitive if many of the people
praise him for the religion he founded? The reason is because an illegal religion sounded more
interesting than a legal one, and that is why many people are Bokononists and why the religion is

Vaccines may give a person antibodies against the diseases, but there is no way to control the
amount. If there is a low amount of antibodies, than the person is likely to develop the disease.
This information relates to my TED talk because vaccines are a problem and harm the body.
Because of how society views them, people believe that they can develop immunity against
diseases which is not the case. This will strengthen my position because I believe that vaccines

Empathy And Morality
The golden rule everyone is taught is to treat others the way you want to be treated . Today, the
rules of morality are argued to be either aided or hindered by empathy. In Empathy Can Lead to

better alternatives to moralitylike compassion and reason. Author of Moral Wisdom Requires
Empathy , Jamil Zaki, disagrees claiming empathy guides morality. Imagine a child stealing another
child s toy and then seeing him cry, but moments later to get it stolen again. At first, he may feel
compassion and dominance. This child may never feel that he did wrong. However, after the same
thing happened to him, he will certainly know he has done wrong. Empathy

  • 2. Health Systems Can Not Be An Open Society Today, not everyone has equal opportunities and access to health care. Not everyone respects individuals the same due to their physical features: skin color, texture of hair, and body type. As individuals, we promote inclusion, respect for diversity, and support initiatives, which eliminate disparities and create open, healthy societies. In order to be an open society, one must have an open mind for co workers, patients and self discipline to laws. Open Society An open society is considered to be utopia (Nyswander, 1985). Health systems cannot be an open society because it is impossible to be perfect. But an open society is achievable. Health systems strive to improve their laws and workers by using an open society as an ideal goal. In an open society health providers respect their coworkers and patients, future laws, and abide the rules. Workers in an open society are all free men , who are self disciplined, respect for rational order, and accept conformity to laws for the general good, and trust others (Nyswander, 1985). Free men understand how to work with workers efficiently through communication. By working as a whole, the health system is successful at treating and saving patients lives. Promoting Inclusion As individuals, we have to promote inclusion. In an open society, people need to always brainstorm new goals to improve the system. Goals are accomplished when everyone works together comfortably. Everyone should be included in the task, such as, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Using Vernacular Architecture And On The Passive... According to Natural History Museum (2015), modern humans have been around for nearly 200,000 years, and in our journey to the present, humans have learnt many ways to survive. From hygiene to hyperplasia, people have come to know the best way possible to survive in the living conditions they lived. To help protect themselves from sun, wind, rain, snow and even enemies, one of the methods used is what today is called vernacular architecture. The practice of designing and constructing a building today may seem easy with modern technology at our finger tips, however 500 years, one can imagine the difficulties, trial and errors the inhabitants of different geographical locations had to go through just to provide suitable shelter for themselves. These trail and errors throughout the history have benefited many civilizations and bring forward bundles of knowledge. For this reason, the objective of this research report is to explore vernacular architecture and to expand on the passive engineering techniques used in times when technology was not so readily available as we have today. Also, an analysis of the different lessons learnt from these techniques will help determine the contribution it has made to sustainable architecture and awareness. Vernacular Architecture What is it? Vernacular architecture can be described as one of the many methods, which are used in construction. Vernacular architecture tends to evolve over time to reflect the environmental, cultural ... • 5. The Formulation Of Public Policy Sherri Torjman seems not to answer her own question, What is Policy as she skirts articulating any concrete definition of policy as she attempts to explain what it is. She attempts to succinctly describe policy, stating, At the end of the day, the formulation of public policy involves a process of making good decisions for the public good (2005, p. 18) but this is a description of how policyis made and fails to define policy. Levison and Sutton (2001) also define policy as a verb by equating policy as a practice of power (p. 2). This definition implies that policymakers are powerful when in there have been times in our history that marginalized groups of people acquired more power as a result of policy. Groups such as the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered community (or communities, depending on your perspective), could hardly be described as powerful yet they are moving public perception and policy initiatives in new directions with rapidity politicians either envy or decry. Levison and Sutton (2001) state that policy is a fluid and negotiated (Levison Sutton, 2001, p. 3) means to govern (p. 3) diverse people and their values; it is a tug of war contrasting , values, desires, wants, and needs. Yet this description of what policy is remains insufficient; policy is not just a means to govern. Means or methods to govern implies lots of things besides or in addition to policy: with a big stick, by coalition building, or as a compassionate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Stomatognathic System The stomatognathic system (SS) is composed by dynamic and static components that requires balance and control determine by the central nervous system (CNS), which makes them responsible for the harmonious functioning and to perform different tasks (to speak, to break food down, and to swallow). The SS is characterized by: skeletal components, dental arches, soft tissues, and temporomandibular joint and masticatory muscles.(Cuccia and Caradonna 2009; Garcia de Paula Silva, Francisco Wanderley, Mussolino de Queiroz, Alexandra, DГ az Serrano, Kranya Victoria. 2008) Posture refers to the position of the human body and its orientation in space. This involves muscles activation that are controlled by the CNS, which guide postural adjustments. These modifications can be induced by afferent inputs like: exteroceptive, proprioceptive, vestibular an visual; all of them modulated by different factors, such as anxiety and mood state. • 7. Different Types Of Computer Protocols A protocol is most simply defined as a standard. These standards define how computers are able to communicate with each other. These standards are defined in documents called Request for Comments( RFC ) which is a formal document from an organization known as the Internet Engineering Task Force( IETF ). These documents are made publicly available so that any program that needs to use these protocols are able to configure them properly so that it works with all other programs that make use of the same protocol. There are thousands of protocols that exist and many of them are very common and others are very seldom used. Some of the most common protocols are HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SSH and DNS. Many of these are used almost every... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... POP3 is used when downloading an email from the email server to a client. IMAP functions similarly to POP3 in that its function is very similar. It is used when downloading emails from mail servers. There are a few differences between the two. With IMAP the mail client is synced with the mail server. An example of this would be reading an email on a mail client( Outlook Express ) and this change being reflected on the mail server. This differs from POP3 because POP3 would not update the mail server, and the fact that the email was read would only be visible on that mail client. The next protocol is very important and called Secure Shell( SSH ). This protocol uses port 22 by default and is inc readably useful. Its intended purpose is to connect to a host that has an SSH server running and open a remote shell that is encrypted. This offers a lot of possibilities that make remote administration secure. One of the additional functions that SSH provides is the ability to create tunnels. The amount of possibilities with SSH tunnels is endless. It allows unencrypted protocols to pass through an encrypted tunnel and can repeated several times over several hosts to further encapsulate and secure data. The final protocol listed is the Domain Name Server. This protocol is used when a computer knows the domain name of a server and not the IP address. Unfortunately computers are not able to put a domain name in a layer 3 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Steps Of Humility And Pride, A Guide For People... This paper was supposed to be about the my take on Bernard of Clairvaux s The Steps of Humility and Pride, a guide for people seeking the truth in God. I say supposed because as I read Bernard s work, I found something entirely different from what I was expecting. What I expected was a man of holy nature rambling on about how we should excuse ourselves from pride, as it stains the true potential of the human soul. At that point, it would almost seem inappropriate to berate the views he has over pride and humility, like yelling at somebody s grumpy grandfather. The lack of sport would ve dragged on my being, leading me to crank out a uninteresting paper where I just disagree with this old cleric. And I know, that is definitely a presumptuous route to take mentally, the irony of writing about pride and humility was not beyond me at this realization. Instead, what I happened to find was a short, honest guide about how to find truthin our lives. Before I continue with this pleasant discovery, some background history needs to be established. Bernard of Clairvauxwas a devout christian who believe in the notion of the Holy Trinity, as well as the rest of the religionthat comes with it. He was born from a noble family, and was well educated. I think this is what pleased me so much, that a rich man like Bernard could live a lavished life then turn towards humility. It genuinely bettered my opinion of him. I, on the other hand, am not a firm believer in the Christian religion. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You can t get more rural than Fanore, it has one main street, blink and you miss it. In fact the West of Ireland is notoriously rural and unspoiled. Fanore is nestled on the Irish Sea and is 10 miles from Quilty, the village where my Grandmother came from in County Clare. When I heard about this young girl taking her life after being subjected to bullying, it really hit home for me. My heart broke for her. All I could think was that she was like a lamb to slaughter. Thrown into an American High School, there was no way this sheltered child could have coped with such a sea change in culture. The District Attorney when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had a choice to do the right thing here and he didn t. According to the WhiteHouse.Gov website: Bullies themselves are also at risk for long term negative outcomes. Several studies suggest that bullying in early childhood may be an early sign of the development of violent tendencies, delinquency, and other criminal behavior. I believe that while bullying in and of itself is not delinquent behavior, it does have the potential to lead to delinquent behavior. But there s a flip side of bullying and delinquency, according to the Pardee RAND Graduate School dissertation No Bullies Allowed , Results show that victimization prior to the age of 12 years is significantly predictive of the development of several delinquent behaviors, including running away from home, selling drugs, vandalism, theft, other property crimes, and assault. Ultimately the parent of the bully bears the responsibility for bullying. They need to address the situation with their child, getting help for the child s aggressive behavior. But like so much of life, issues must be attacked on all fronts. Schools, police, parents, peers, courts all have a part to play in solving the problem. • 10. Japanese Immigration Research Paper The focus of this personal reflection paper is to share my discoveries about what I expected to find in class and what actually happened. It is to show that despite my preconceived notions of what immigration entails, immigration is not only to the United States. Additionally, it is to show that one perspective in immigrationdebates in the US does not confer a standard of dialogue in an immigration debate outside the US. I suppose that since we are all immigrants, since I am an immigrant, I imagined that we our experiences sometimes the same or similar. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example classify proximity to Japan as blood thinness was a new phenomenon to me. The Japanese immigration presents for me a different landscape from the one I see in the immigration news in the US beecause it brings to view several forms of discrimination of Japanese by Japanese in Japan, and compounds that with problems immigrants face worldwide including in the United Staes. What I learn from reading about immigration in Japan is that those of Japanese descent fromm Brazil, Peru or Argentina trying to return home face constant battles with Their identiy and other Psychologocal impacts of transnational immigration. Apparently, the Political evolution lag that still allows leaders to continue oppressive immigration policies are also well and alive in Japan. TyokoYamamoto s paper titled, Migrant support NGOs and the Challenge to the Discourse on Foreign Criminality in Japan shows that the Japanese facts and figures continue to successsfully portray migrants and criminals either perpetuating new crimes or making a crime worse. Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights helped increase public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent women are exploited. the article was completely pro the abolishment of trafficking and prostitution practices and there were no arguments or debates in defense of the practices taking place in society. There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the improvement of the existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to fix later on, which would lead to a degraded corrupted society in the possible near future. as the article mentioned, churches should be a big part in the process of helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them. Also, the public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in the issue of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees. Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by arresting traffickers, which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar situations. Cell Phone Radiation May Help Alzheimer s Disease Essay Every 71 seconds in this country, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease and in a startling new report out today from the Alzheimer s Association, predicts that one out of every eight baby boomers or almost 10 milllion Americans is expected to develop this disease, (Mckenzie). The University of South Florida has led a study along with the Alzheimer s Disease Research Center which has abandoned the idea that cell phone radiation is detrimental to our health. Mice, who were transgenic, began the radiation treatment at five months old when memories had begun to deteriorate. In such cases, the radiation seemed to stop further memory loss and in some mice, the radiation may have reversed the memory loss. According to the health physics society, radiation is an energy that comes from a source and travels through space which may be able to penetrate various materials. In the past few weeks of our chemistry class I have learned that atoms whom have an unstable nuclei are radioactive, these atoms give off excess energy which are radiation rays. Radiation varies from gamma, beta, and alpha rays. Gamma rays have the shortest wavelengths and highest frequencies. Gamma rays are the most energetic form of light produced by the hottest regions of the universe and emitted by the nucleus of radioactive atoms. Because of this, gamma rays are used to penetrate tissue property, such as in the use of CT scans, and radiation therapy. Alpha particles are also ejected by the nuclei of unstable atoms; however, they are large and consist of two protons and two neutrons. Although alpha particles have a high mass, they are the most destructive form of radiation with a low penetrating force; a single piece of paper can block alpha particles. Beta particles are much ... Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a fourth grade teacher. However after being placed in a second grade classroom my views have changed. I liked the idea of teaching fourth grade because my fourth grade teacher was my inspiration in life. When I was in Ms. Petro s class I enjoyed being able to watch the students progress over time. Being able to see the drastic improvements in little children is very rewarding and that is why I want to continue to teach lower grades. I have learned that being a teacher requires a special someone, a person who knows that sometimes you will have to deal with tough situations leaving you exhausted and feeling like you are not able to help more. But at the same time, being a teacher allows one to be a visionary for the world and those who surround you. Many educators will argue what makes an effective teacher and how that correlates with the function of the classroom. When we talked about how to be an effective teacher we discussed three components, teaching through problem solving and selecting appropriate tasks, creating appropriate environments and using appropriate interventions. In my field experience, I was able to observe these three effective mathematics teaching components and understand how they apply to the classroom. After leaning about these components, I was then able to use them in my personal experience and see how they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mike Davis believed that, the government, international banks and thinkers such as Hernando de Soto are the one responsible for making the condition in the urban south terrible for the poor while good only for the officials and the rich. Mike Davis says that after 1950, people moved from villages to the cities despite knowing that the condition in those cities are bad. [In urban south people are poor and hungry so they do any job to make money. Such as, picking up cigarette bud, selling body parts, and etc]An example that, Mike Davis gives is why the population in the cities at china is increasing. Role Of Federalism In Mexico Prior to gaining independence, Mexico was a thriving colony that was beginning to find its footing in international trade, but inner conflicts within the government structure which had been increasing dramatically, caused a great divide among citizens. George Lucas originally exposed the original Star Wars in 1977, and it has continued to up to present day. The ideas Lucas created through these movies helped evolve other films. One of the things that the prior Star Warsdidn t evolve though was female representation in movies. The representation of women in past Star Wars films compared to the most recent Star Wars film has substantially evolved in the characterization of females. Captain Phasma, however, was not portrayed like most female characters in past films. Instead of being depicted as a sexual and dependent character, her script and costume conveyed otherwise. Captain Phasma wore an outfit similar to an average stormtrooper of any gender that did not sexualize her character. As well as this, the script used for her character showed little correlation to the stereotypical female presentation in prior films. It consisted of her characters script corresponding to how a stormtrooper captain would behave. She was not there to please the audience, or act sexy, but instead to play a part in the movie. Another representation of this is the female character, Rey. This character was given the opportunity to develop into who she was, not for the purpose of a man. • 19. Key Features Of The Biological And Psychoanalytic Approach... What are the core assumptions and key features of the biological and psychoanalytic perspectives in psychology? In what ways are they similar and how do they differ? The biological approach focuses on the physiological causes of behaviour based on genetics, brain physiology and biochemistry. This approach also adopts the view that biology is adapted based on the environment an organism is in and therefore most behaviours serve an evolutionary purpose. Research is gained through a nomothetic approach that uses scientific methods. The psychoanalytical approach focuses on instincts, childhood experiences and the unconscious mind as motivators for behaviour. An idiographic approach is adopted from the case studies Freud used to develop his theory, however, Freud also attempted to apply general laws of behaviour using a nomothetic approach. There are several similarities within the two approaches: they both draw on nature and nature, are deterministic, materialistic and internal approaches. Additionally, both have practical applications in modern life. However, some differences between the two are that the biological approach accounts for external forces as well as internal whilst psychodynamic does not. The psychodynamic approach places greater emphasis on unobservable forces unlike the biological approach that primarily looks at observable structures although often in animals rather than humans. The biological approach studies behaviour using a nomothetic method. Of all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Use Of Weather In Santa Ana By Joan Didion In the essay Santa Ana Joan Didion uses a variety of rhetorical devices to broadcast the idea that the weather can actually set the mood and reputation of a town. She also show cases that the attitude of people around us can have an effect on the way we view things. I can relate to this because most of the time we learn about things it is from our peers, so their attitude will wear off on us when we come into that situation. With this essay she emphasizes that a place can be very important for he because of what it represents. I can agree with her on this because there are several places for me that represent important experiences that I ve had in my life. The speaker references the horrible weather in Santa Ana and how the wind could change the mindset of the people who live there. She describes it as being depressing the type of weather that no one liked yet it effected everyone. She describes the town in a very unearthly manner. She speaks of how the wind in Santa Ana would commonly underestimated because there were so many people from other countries who believed that California s weather was monotone, meaning that it always stayed the same with no extremes. She expresses her truth that the weather infected the air with violence. Throughout the essay she is uneasy which is shown by her use of mysterious words. The author begins the essay with a tone that is kind of spooky which puts the reader in an unsettling mindset. There is something uneasy in the Los Angeles air this afternoon, some unnatural stillness, some tension. What it means is that tonight a Santa Ana will begin to blow, a hot wind from the northeast whining down through the Cajon and San Gorgonio Passes, blowing up sand storms out along Route 66, drying the hills and the nerves to flash point. Here she uses imagery to assist her audience in becoming as engaged in her surroundings as she is. Doing this also helps her audience feel the same way as the speaker, who seems to be frightened and anxious about what could happen next. Consequently, the Europeans settled in Brazil with the initial intention of harvesting Brazilian wood, however, sugar was found to grow very well in Brazil. The profits of sugar went further than those that were being reaped from the wood; which meant sugar would become the main Brazilian export. Over time, Brazil made a name for itself as the production of not just the best sugar, but also the main producer in the Atlantic world. Therefore, the nature of the sugar trade and its growth created challenges within the farming process that turned out to be very labor intensive. The reality was very few European farmers, which made it a task for them to meet the proper labor demands while the native population was not very effective in handling the pressures that were distinctive in the sugar plantations. This forced the sugar farmers to resort to importing labor in the form of slaves. In the initial stages, the Portuguese were getting about 5,000 slaves annually. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dracula is of mixed racial heritage and blood in the whirlpool of European races, a concept which would have been fearful to the novel s white, upper class English audience. This widespread xenophobia, a fear and hatred of foreigners, was a reaction by Victorian England to the perceived threat of outsiders to white genetic purity. Dracula s real threat is not in the physical destruction of Western Europe, but in the assimilation, reproduction, and infestation caused by the literal and figurative mixing of his barbarian animal blood with that of the superior English race. The concept of eugenics, the qualitative and quantitative improvement of the human genome (Galton 99), gained widespread popularity during Stoker s lifetime and became a prevalent theme in the works of many authors aiming to make a social commentary or criticism on the invasion of England by foreign peoples. Adolph Hitler would later adopt eugenic ideals in the intended creation of a master race, one which victimized many of the same groups and relied upon almost identical anti Semitic imagery as the earlier Victorian proponents (Hauner 15). The first movement literally translates to a fast tempo, between allegretto and vivace, and bright/sparkling /brilliant; given this name the first movement did not disappoint with its lively theme with beautifully placed dynamics. The second movement is the slower funeral march with a lyrical main theme played by the violin and cello, and a second theme played by the piano with string accompaniment. The Scherzo utilizes the chromatic scale to re engage listeners after the slower second movement. The finale movement magnificently makes a call back to the theme of the first movement, thus bring the whole piece ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some people may say we stole parts from them, but I believe we borrowed them and made them better. We made them better because they were now part of the United States of America. From the Magna Carta to the Articles of Confederation, writings all around the world influenced the US constitution. Even though we copyrighted some of the constitution it is still one of the most ingenious writings in the world. The first document to influence the constitution was the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta declared everyone was subject to law, even the king. It also said that no one could be put through cruel or unusual punishment. Another thing it said was the everyone had the right to a fair trial and justice. Magna Carta means great charter in latin. It also included the right to speedy trial. The Magna Carta influenced many parts of the constitution. The first thing it influenced was that the king and government were bound to the same laws as the citizens. This means that the king and the government weren t above the law, just like the president and US government. Another thing that is similar is the right to a fair and speedy trial just like in the bill of rights. The last area that is similar is that no one could be put through cruel and unusual punishment. Improving Quality Of Video Content Service Abstract With the rapid growth of technological advancements globally in the field of Cloud computing, there s been a tremendous change in the number of customers accessing the cloud. At this point of time the question which arises is the quality of service i.e. streaming performance provided by cloud service providers which is a factor of bandwidth. The streaming performance is degraded whenever we download video content from the cloud because downloading a high quality or popular video requires large number of peers to combine and then produce the video, for this method the amount of bandwidth is also too high and costly. The services provided by cloud are Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), Saas users use an application software and databases, the Saas services include Google, YouTube, drives etc(1). The main purpose of this research is the concern we are having towards improving the efficiency of the video content traffic because of its majority contribution in internet traffic. Presently, File downloading based on automotive mode switch (AMS) algorithm, this approach is an effective but video content downloading does not always give good performance (3). When AMS method is used the internet buffering is less but the bandwidth is high and costly (3). Moreover AMS algorithm uses peers in order to provide the requested video by users (3), if the video is so long then it would take more peers in order to provide video, when there are more peers there is no proper scheduling of peers due to which when we want to get some unpopular video the peers provide a low quality video. By using our proposed method we are going to solve the problem of bandwidth and cost because agents provide their bandwidth resources constantly at a much lesser price. Ignorance During The Middle Ages If you look at different time periods throughout history from a historian s point of view, the Middle Ages is a era widely accepted to be a period of ignorance where little to no advancement took place. Superstition replaced philosophical thinking, and religion overpowered everything else. The Renaissance however, was the polar opposite. It was a rebirth of European civilization and often characterized by the escalation of interest in classical learning and values. During the Renaissanceground breaking invention or application of influential innovations took place with paper, printing, the mariner s compass, and gunpowder. There were significant changes in science, such as the substitution of the Copernican for the Ptolemaic system of astronomy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many agree that the science of archaeology had its birth in the classical revival. The Roman ruins were the first object that attracted the devoted curiosity of the Italian scholars. Due the rise of humanism and critical thinking, the artifacts that remained inherently sparked a need to understand a history of their ancestors. During the Renaissance, the fascination in the history and culture of past civilizations grew, and lead to exceptional discoveries all over the world. By tracking the story of mankind, it allowed the scholars of the day as well as present day scholars, to have an entirely new view of the beginning of history. If it wasn t for the questioning spirit that defined the Renaissance, there wouldn t have been an urge to explore past cultures using the remains they left behind. With this new information on past civilizations and a revolutionized form of critical thinking, came the science of historical criticism. The founder of this field was Laurentius Valla. His most celebrated achievement was the confirmation of the unauthentic character of the Donation of Constantine, a forged Roman Imperial decree where emperor Constantine I transferred authority over the western part of the Roman Empire to the Pope. Vala s achievements paved the way for historical criticism during the time. He began a period of examining historical sources thoroughly and discovering its true value. This new ... • 39. Investigating The Criminal Activity Of Offenders The logic of some individuals has attempted to justify the criminal activity of offenders. Essentially, unlawful behavior has been attributed to a number of conditions such as the offender s environment and the nature of the adversities they have encountered. For example, it can be contended that a lawbreaker committed an infraction because of the absence of positive adult influences present during their childhood or that they were compelled by need in which they may have resorted to stealing as a means of survival. Ultimately, although a degree of reason may exist to warrant an offender s actions, they cannot evade that fact that they are predominately accountable for their misconduct. Thus, except in the most exceptional of circumstances, the decision for individuals to violate the law is impermissible. Burglary is one type of crimein which its severity may be minimized because physical harm was not sustained by the victims. However, burglary can deprive victims of their sense of security and strip them of irreplaceable possessions. Furthermore, such an outcome had materialized when the home of Trinidad and Maria Lupercio was breached. Overall, a burglary was perpetuated at the Lupercio residence and in Arizona; this particular case qualifies as burglary in the second degree due to the elements of the crime. • 43. Oedipus Self Identity Analysis The implications of self identity are far ranging. The light we view ourselves in determines the very basics of who we think we are, and what action we think we should take to fulfill our identity; to make it flourish. Men build these identities on many different foundations. For one man might say he builds it on the goodness of his heart, another on his career. Yet every foundation, save that of Jesus Christ, has the tendency to crumble and fall apart beneath us. When the good man realizes he has sinned; when the career of an old man fades away, their identities are no more. Oedipus, the mighty king of Thebes, is such a man. The University of Denver published manual in 2012, categorizing how college students view themselves into twelve areas. These twelve can be simplified into two basic groups: The performance of an individual (Intellectually, athletically, occupationally, or otherwise), and their relationships with others. Of these two groups, the latter has been more definitive in our society today because media influences have put even greater stress on those who build their identity on relationships. USA Today conducted a survey in 2014, revealing that almost all the college students they interviewed have had a fear of being left out that has been generated by social media. Because they have let these relationships define them, they are constantly placed in a state of potential identity crisis. A relational problem with a group of friends or a partner could lead to a serious breakdown of how that individual views themselves. Though not as prevalent, the second group of characteristics based on performance can have an equally severe impact if it is used to build an identity. Any number of events such as a loss of job, physical injury, academic failure, failure to reach a goal, and old age can all tear that identity down. As we age, our mind and body both deteriorate, and with this change can come a host of physical and mental shortcomings. As the young adults of our nation construct their self identity on performance, they also build it on their frail bodies which at some point will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was whether to let Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union could have responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it would be a surprise attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy reasoned it would not be a good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an invasion.Although the air strike proposal was done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and useless. Not only did they mention that the blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact that they were already there, but they also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to do it also. Forcing the removal of the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove their missiles surrounding the Soviet Union too, or so they thought.
