During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union
placing missiles in Cuba, known today as the Cuban missile crisis. In attempt to avoid nuclear

missile sites and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure
