European And Non-European Culture In The 1500s And 1600s
Europeans had many goals throughout the 1500s and 1600s. To achieve their goals, they deferred
to the non European culture. However, the question remains how did the Europeans accommodate
themselves to Non European culture? The European traders and missionaries would accommodate
themselves by integrating into the Non European culture, by adapting their physical appearance, by
referring to the traditional practices, and through the response of the nations wants to European
goods.
In order for Europe s influence to be successful across the world, they had a guide written by
Father Jean de BrГ©beuf, called Instructions for The Fathers of Our Society Who Shall Be Sent to
The Hurons. In this small guide, Father Jean, writes instruction for other European members to
follow in order to be successful in their influence in the new world. The thought of being the
superior race, followed them to the new world, so embracing a culture that they thought was low
class, was a big change to the European men. As to the other numerous things which may be
unpleasant, they must be endured for the love of God, without saying anything or appearing to
notice them. They did not do anything that contradicts the Natives belief, as they were trying to
convert them to the idealized culture. They were doing so in a way that the Natives did not realize
they were being converted. So, the Europeans change their normal customs in order to gain their
trust. In which they accommodate to non European

Rationalize Channel Margins to Optimize Distribution Costs
Rationalize Channel Margins to Optimize Distribution Costs

ABSTRACT:
Distribution Channel Margins form an important component of the distribution cost which directly
affects the bottom line of any company. While the companies are trying to reduce the distribution
costs, to improve their own margin pressures, there seem to be little innovations in this area.
The margins offered to the distribution channel members by most of the companies are fixed in
percentage, which is directly proportional to the price of the product. In case of any change in price,
the channel margins in absolute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Distributor s Cost: The above model does not consider the cost of running the business of the
Distributor. Due to diverse nature of the Indian markets, cost of running a distribution business
differs from market to market. Some markets may have higher concentration of retailers in few
places whereas some markets offer scattered locations of retailers, thereby affecting the
transportation cost. In highly populous markets, the speed of credit cycle may be high as compared
to less populous markets, thereby affecting the working capital requirement. The congestion on the
urban roads, distribution time, manpower requirement, average order quantity, etc. also need
customized considerations. 3. Return on Investment: When the margins are standardized, the ROI
calculation is totally dependent on the volumes of business. Executives often inflate the targeted
volume of business to meet the ROI expectations of the distributors. Many times, such inflated
targets are unrealistic and unachievable, resulting in loss to the distributor. This results in loss of
trust and goodwill of the firm and higher attrition rate of the distributors. 4. Firm s Marketing
Strategy: A Firm may change its marketing strategy which may require price changes. Such
strategies may include re positioning,

Essay on Microeconomics and the Board Game Monopoly
All I ever needed to know about microeconomics I learned from the Hasbro board game Monopoly.
Some people, like myself, need practical models in order to understand certain concepts and
theories. In our text book The Economy Today it completely ignores the intrinsic value of business
decisions because you can t put a numeric value on it. The game Monopolyв„ў is all about the
numbers. In the game of Monopolyв„ў you have goals: The object is to bankrupt all opponents. To
do so, you must be dedicated and make each decision with the aim of improving your chances and
wiping out your opponents. (Monopoly) In what I will call throughout the paper real life, the goal is
the same. Look at the excerpt from an ABC New article called The ... Show more content on

Know when to cause a building shortage If you have only low rent color groups, quickly build
three or four houses per property to restrict the availability of houses to owners of high rent color
groups. Never move up to a hotel anywhere if the return of houses to the bank would enable an
opponent to develop an expensive color group. (Example: the Yellow group has just been formed.
There are only three houses in the bank, but six hotels. You own the light blues with four houses on
each. Do not buy hotels. Doing so would give the player owning the Yellows an opportunity to build
up to hotels on them.) (Monopoly.com)
By buying up the houses you are creating a barrier to entry. It is a barrier even if your opponent
has the necessary funds to enter. This is because of the basic economic principal of scarce
resources, or as Stephen Slavin calls it in Economics Control over essential resource. (Slavin 541)
The game Monopoly is a prime illustration of scarce resources; that is, There s a limit to the
amount we can produce in a given time with available resources. (Schiller 9) The property is

Low Gas Prices
Last year, gas prices decreased under two dollars, for the first time in nearly seven years. Drivers
enjoyed gas prices as low as 1.89 per gallon. Lower gas prices help people commute, especially
those who are poor. When gas prices are low minorities spend less of their income on basic needs
. However, many Americans question whether gas prices should continue to decrease or be kept
at a price higher than what s been seen recently. When gas prices decrease, it threatens the natural
gas industry, consequently laying off workers. While higher gas prices might decrease jobs in the
oil industry, ultimately, when gas remains low it makes it affordable to the lower class and more
money is kept in citizens pockets. The decline of gas prices, in... Show more content on

Although it may be true, it s not necessarily the case. With lower gas prices, the economy is
digging itself out of the hole dug by Bush and his cronies. The deficit is going down. Inflation
isn t a problem and unemployment is gradually decreasing (Cheap Gas Prices: Good or Bad?).
The U.S. economy can increase by a lot when gas prices are lower. Lower oil prices could be
better for the world economy for the same reasons that it s good for U.S. GDP growth: Cheaper
energy makes it easier to make more stuff (What s So Bad About Low Gas Prices). It took about
nine months for the average, which was $2.84 per gallon last June, to hit $1.86 last week (Evan
Jones). People can spend more of their money on common good rather than most of it on gas for
their transportation. Critics of lower gas prices argue that with higher gas price it can increase
the price of imported food (The Pros Cons of Higher Gas Prices). If what I recommended earlier,
U.S. economy make more money. With lower gas prices, the government can earn more money

The Insanity Of Insanity
The mind is what drives every living creature. The brian tells us everything we need to know in
order to survive as a species. It is the most crucial aspect of what we are. Humans have the most
complex and intelligent brain out of the entire animal kingdom. The individual spirit of a human is
determined by chemicals in the brain and the interaction between them and their surroundings. So
what happens when our brain does not function correctly? What happens to the person with the
ailments and what happens to those around them as a result of it? In both books at least one
character demonstrates insanity. While the books do not specifically state that other characters
have mental instability, there are many reasons to believe that some do. Helen and Ginnie are the
two characters who show explicit insanity. Helen kills herself and leaves her two daughters in the
care of their grandmother. Ginnie has suffered from mental illnessfor what appears to be most of her
life and ends her life in a dementia ward. Humaninstinct is to survive, pass down genetics and
protect your offspring. We as a species all feel this drive and when it is put aside, ignored or acted
against it is a clear sign of insanity. Helen stone had experienced so much in her life that she could
not handle reality and decided that suicidewas the best alternative. This is our brain s last resort to
a problem. To think that oblivion and ending it all is superior to living. Ginnie always showed signs

Marketing Of Health Care Services
This paper pertains to the marketing of Health Care Services and provides the steps and history of
marketing in health care and the effects of marketing on the health care delivery system from 1950
to 1990. It introduces the health care consumers and their role in the marketing process as well as
the factors that influence consumer behavior. These factors influence the success of marketingin
health care. It also provides the requirements for successful marketing and current techniques and
strategies used by health care organizations.
According to the American Marketing Association, marketing is the activity, set of institutions and
process for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offers that have value for
customers, clients, partners, and society at large (2014). Marketing is a relatively new concept that
was first introduced in 1910 and referred to as sales. Although the 1950 s is considered to be the
beginning of the marketing era, it was not until the 1980 s that marketing was considered to have
begun in healthcare, other than the pharmaceutical industry (Thomas, 2005). In the 1950s, the
United States Economy was geared toward production and emphasized the interests of the producer
over those of the consumer. Individuals had the mindset that a good product would sell for itself so
there was no need for marketing. Hospitals and physicians for the most part considered marketing
to be inappropriate and even unethical. Although

Recount of a Mock Trial
The central issue in the mock trial was whether the payment of life insurance from Prime Global
Insurance group to Raven Temple, the wife of the late Aubrey Temple, was warranted. Aubrey
Temple purchased a life insurance plan from Prime Global Insurance on March 16th, 2011. Prime
Global Insurance s policy is illustrated clearly in their terms and conditions that the one million
dollar payout to the policy holder s beneficiary on the condition that the deathof the individual must
not have occurred by suicidewithin two years of enacting the contract. My contribution to jury
deliberations were to synthesize the evidence to most accurately depict the events that passed, and
to come to a conclusion whether Mr. Temple died by suicide or accidental death, and if his death
occurred before the two year time period as outlined in the insurancecompany s policy. The
prosecution and defense painted a story for the jury and called on witnesses including Ms.

transcript of a sworn testimony by the medical examiner of Mr. Temple, a detective who arrived at
the scene, the limo driver who was driving Mr. Temple from that night s Veteran Ball, and an

evidence surrounding the death of Mr. Temple did not prompt hesitation or second thoughts about
what happened. The limo driver noted that it was

The Theme Of Environmentalism In Frank Herbert s Dune
In undoubtedly one of the grandest science fiction epics of all time, Frank Herbert s Dune focuses
on a stunning blend of politics, environmentalism, adventure, and mysticism. Recipient of the
Nebula Award and Hugo Award, Dune explores the effects of a changing global climate most
prominently. The role of science fictionisn t so much to predict the future, rather than to astound the
audience with its possible leading avenues. Dunehas a sparse ecosystem and Herbert explores for
instance how the limitation of water would transform the planetary ecology and possible
sustenance for human life. Thus Dune, stands as an early example that explores environmentalism
and ecology, effectively communicating these novel ideas in the 1960 s to a new and young
audience and generation. Herbert focuses on the untapped human potential of transcending the
primary state of living conditions, however with a plethora of limitations and consequences.
Particularly interesting, the novel as a whole serves as an allegory for the dangers of environmental
shortages and damages. Although some may presume the novel Dune as confusing archaic misfit
for a science fiction novel, these romantic critics are often too dogmatic in their provincial
ideologies. Several warnings are presented throughout the course of the novel on ancient dangers
such as the greed of mercantile corporations, the intertwined complications of religion and politics,
conflicts of feudalism, and most prominently ecological fragility.

Analysis Of Tis Pity She s A Whore
We admire disobedience and defiance in the face of the inevitable.
In Tis pity she s a whore John Ford portrays a corrupt Parmesan society in which two siblings are
defying the conventions of the world they are leaving in for a chance for their incesteus love to
exist. From the beginning of the play Giovanni and Annabella s love story line seems to be
following the conventional formula, however we are constantly reminded that it is anything but
alike conventional. Both protagonists are disobeying society s conventions, going against morality,
nature, religion and culture.
Throughout the play Ford is constantly keeping the audience in a state of confusion and uncertainty
of weather we sympathies with the tragic lovers or we are disgusted by the incesteus nature of
their relationship: O, Annabella, I am quite undone: the love of thee, my sister, and the view of thy
immortal beauty hath untuned all harmony both of my rest and life . Ford uses the conventional
love language and imagery, which for a moment tempts the audience to disregard the unnaturalness
of their love and apply the conventional innocence of two lovers on it: On my knees, brother, even
by our mother s dust, I charge you, do not betray me to your mirth or hate; love me or kill me,
brother. Annabella and Giovanni announce their love to the audience giving wedding like vows to
each other, however the audience cannot overlook that Giovanni and Annabella demonstrate the
awareness of the forbidden nature of

Theme Of Revenge In Shakespeare s Hamlet
While seeking revenge, dig two graves one for yourself (Douglas Horton). This quote can be
easily related to world events throughout history, for instance, Adolf Hitler s revenge for Germany s
defeat in WWI. While getting his revenge, Hitler dug his own grave and took his life. Even though
in Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Hamlet doesn t go as far as Hitler and didn t kill himself, the
revenge for his father took him closer to death as the story progressed. This theme of avenging one
s loved ones is seen throughout every act in Hamlet .
The theme of avenging one s loved ones is seen in Act I when Hamlet is told the truth about his
father s death. Even though in the beginning of the play, Hamlet is sad and depressed, this
discovery turns Hamlet into a vengeful person. In Hamlet the idea of avenging one s loved ones
is seen in Act I when Hamlet says to the ghost of his father, Haste me to know t, that I, with
wings as swift as meditation or the thoughts of love, may sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare
Scene 5, line 29). In this quote, Hamlet is asking the ghost of his father to tell him how his father
died in order for him to avenge him faster than a person falls in love. This quote represents the
theme by showcasing how much Hamlet wants to avenge his father s death without any second
thoughts. This quote is significant to the theme in general by showing a different side of Hamlet
that has never been seen, as far as we know, which is his ferocity and introduces a plan

Who Was The Vatican Dbq Essay
On a sunny day in The Vatican, one of the most beloved popes died. Twelve cardinals were to vote
for the next pope, however four of them went missing out of nowhere one morning, so some
officials went to the most qualified people they could ever go to.
Traveling over 5,000 miles they came to a little quiet school in Peachtree Corners with not much
happening until the phone rang in Doc s room asking for Mr.West, Mr.Nail, and Ms.Sanders
immediately. They went to the front where three officials were standing and rushed them out to

hundreds of other professors and more qualified teachers. One of the officials said that kids are
more clever and like puzzles. So on they went, knowing that this mission could be fatal but they
were up to the challenge.
Once they arrived, they got to work to find out who these Cardinals were. However, the Vatican
granted access to only a few documents in the Secret Archives and only a few had the names of
the Cardinals. But with a Vatican official, they could gain more access to more documents

Understanding The Retail Department Stores
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to develop an in depth understanding of the retail Department Stores
industry. This understanding will allow our team to create and implement a strategic plan in order
to gain a competitive advantage for firms in the industry. The Department Store industry includes
companies that sell a broad assortment of products and also incorporates Discount department
stores who offer their products at lower prices than most other retail stores (Carter, 2015). There
are five major product categories sold in department stores and they are apparel, drugs and
cosmetics, furniture and household appliances, toys and hobby goods, and other (Carter, 2015).
Some stores may also have pharmacy and photo services as well as restaurants.
Executive Summary
The Department Store industry growth rate and life cycle are declining due to the industry being
unattractive and not drawing in more competitors. Also, firms are leaving the industry because they
want to offer consumers more options and are then reclassified out of this industry into another one.
Industries use either the low cost strategy or the differentiation strategy to obtain a competitive
advantage. Analyzing the external environment has shown that it is not attractive for new entrants.
After the Target data breach firms in the industry are taking the necessary steps to protect consumer
information to be able to regain consumer trust. The industry is starting to raise the hourly rate for

Whether through occupational licenses, non compete clauses, or land use restrictions, rent
seeking has been associated with causing higher income inequality and negatively interfering
with the operation of free market economies . An example of the negative effects of of rent
seeking can be found in occupational licenses. While occupational licenses were noted for
increasing income by 15% over the free market value of an occupation, they are also charged with
inhibiting entrepreneurship (especially among low income workers), raising prices, and lowering
productivity . In fact, a 2011 study even indicated that the existence of occupational licenses may
be responsible for removing as many 2.85 million jobs from the US economy .
Given that rent seeking has been blamed for income inequality, job loss, and lower economic
productivity, it is no surprise that there have been a variety of academic works on the subject. One
such work is an article by Michael Munger entitled Rent Seek and You Will Find. In the article,
Munger describes his involvement in the bidding process for HUD grants while working in
Charlotte. In this case, the HUD grants represent the rent, as the grants are a capital infusion that
the winning city would receive from the government, rather than income generated from free

An alarm sounded loudly. It was six am on a Saturday morning. I knew what this meant, time for
running and the time of physical death. But I always refused to leave my bed. A fist pounded on
my door. This was the usual wakeup call before a run.
That day we were going on a journey across the Marin Headlands. Those hills are considered hell
by every person who steps a foot on them. The elevation of Marin Headlands is approximately 800
feet with steep slopes and a fun downhill.
We left our car in a visitor center parking lot on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Bridge. I
had never been to a parking lot with so few people, yet in one of the most touristic areas on Earth.
Fog, lots of it filled the area around me. This was not considered ... Show more content on

It had a steeper incline than the first. What drove me to reach the peak of a mountain is the view of
San Francisco. It must have been a similar peak photographers used in their postcards. A little
wedding gathered around, they encouraged us , continuing on our little journey.
My body started to stop suddenly in the middle of a hill. For these situations, Gu energy gel
became my new best friend. There must be some sort of addictive ingredient in gel for a runnerВґs
satisfaction. Once I ingested it, my tongue did not stop attacking the paste. Enough fuel was gained
from several packs that I climbed an obstacle. Feelings of excitement went off as I reached a
roundabout. Another hill shared its peak with the roundabout and it looked harder than all others.
Again , another hurdle approached me and a third mountain neared.
This is considered the hardest hill of my run. In all about four mountains made up a difficult six
mile trek. I complained loudly as cramps attacked me from inside. In my mind, I thought when
perseverance strikes, I can achieve anything. It was a fight for the end but I defeated Mother
Nature. She wasted all of my energy, killed dreams and satisfied me. The view on top of Hawk
Hill was breathtaking and absolutely wonderful. It rivaled postcards and brochures alike. An
official picture facing San Francisco was sent to my family. They commented on how athletic I am

Cameras in the Courtroom
In the electronic world that we live in, every aspect of life can be broadcast across the country in
seconds. This aspect is even more realistic when cameras are front and center in American
courtrooms. Each morning and afternoon we turn on the television, reality television takes over
and civil lawsuits or divorces are being broadcast on shows such as the Judge Judy Show, Judge
Brown Show, Judge Greg Mathis Show or Divorce Court. Many people, young and old, are
exposed to these reality shows believing what they see is the real criminal justice system at ... Show

The proponents of cameras in the courtroom also believe that televised trials would educate the
public on courtroom procedure and rules of the court. The media believes that as the viewers
watch real trials on television, they would become more aware of the rules of the court and they
would become more aware of the basic procedures courts have to follow. An example of how
cameras in the courtroom would educate the public would be the all famous O.J. Simpson trial.
The O.J. Simpson trial educated the public on rules of evidence with the bloody glove display,
the cross examination of key witnesses with the examination of Mark Furman, and what role the
judge plays in the process. The media believes that if cameras where not allowed inside O.J.
Simpson trial, then the public for the most part would still not understand the true workings of
the court system. Kimberlianne Podlas note that televised trials will educate the public by giving
them a reference for what the court system is, its fairness, and who the arbiters of justice are
(Podlas, 2001). Podlas also explains that the O.J. Simpson trial lead more people to watch and
gain a understanding and respect for the judicial system as well as gaining knowledge of the legal
concepts and burdens of the system (Podlas, 2001).
Just like the arguments made for cameras in the courtroom and the jury deliberation room by the
media, the courtroom working group which

Blower Motor Problems On Gm Vehicles
Blower Motor Problems on GM Vehicles
Back in the 70s and 80s blower motor problems on General Motors Corp. vehicles were almost
unheard of. However, they did require a lot of electrical energy.
In an effort to increase the efficiency of the climate control systems General Motors has
experimented with some cutting edge technologies. Unfortunately, the fallout has been a large
amount of vehicles with common blower motor problems. I guess I m saying these systems didn t
age well.
Here I ll cover four specific issues that are extremely common on cars and trucks from Chevrolet,
Pontiac, Saturn, GMC and Buick automobiles. Keep in mind for Chrysler owners I have a specific

You can jump 12 V to the positive side of the motor and it should run. I recommend that you leave
it fully installed when you run this test because the spinning squirrel cage can cause injury. If the
blower motor works it s time to check some voltages at the module.
There s a power wire that comes from the control panel. On most models it s either red or purple.
This power in wire should turn on a test light with the ignition on and maximum speed selected.
The black wire should indicate a strong ground. If you have a good ground and verified power
into the module, yet have no electricity flowing to the blower motor you probably have a bad
module.
In many cases when I find the problem with the GM blower motor module I also find signs of
moisture in the heater case that contains the motor and module. If the AC condensation drain
becomes blocked you ll wind up with water flowing into the HVACcase. The blower motor
module is close to being the low point and will wind up sitting in a bath of water.
If you wind up replacing this part go the extra step and make sure that the condensation drain is
clear on your AC evaporator. Also make sure your old blower motor spins freely and isn t starting
to bind. I have some final thoughts on the blower motor module failure situation. In an effort to
streamline the manufacturing process and keep costs down these parts are in a tremendous amount

Huckleberry Finn Superiority
In the generations prior to the Civil War, slavery ran rampant through America, especially in the
South. The vast majority of caucasian people in the South owned some number of African
American slaves and because of this, white superiority flourished. The entire culture of America in
this time was that the white man was better than the black man and the black man deserved the
hard labor because it is all he was really good for. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark
Twainis set in this pre war time period, in the South, where the slavery and white supremacy was
felt most prominently. Huck Finn is the young boy, narrator, and protagonist of this novel and was

that rather than real, poisonous, dangerous snakes in the woods, the slave is actually referring to
a man in a large amount of real danger: Jim. Huck s automatic assumption is that the slave man
is certainly not capable of doing anything good or productive and he only actually goes with him
to find out what suspicious activities he is up to. Later, in chapter twenty seven, Huck learns
that a tight knit family of slaves who used to belong to Mary Jane Wilks and her family are
being separated and sold. Rather than feeling bad for the slave family preparing to be split up
forever, Huck fixates on the girls and how they feel. I can t ever get it out of my memory, the

feeling bad for the slaves, Huck feels bad that the girls are sad and wants to make them stop being

Questions and Answers on the Carrier Industry Essay
1. What are the various factors used in classifying commodities for tariff purposes? The National
Motor Freight Classification (NMFC), as determined by the Surface Transportation Board (STB), is
the tariff system that has classification and description of commodities based on four main
characteristics. These are density of the commodity, liability, handling and storability of the
commodity. Carrier companies negotiate the rate and terms of transporting the commodities on the
basis of these four characteristics. It is important to mention that product density is the dominant
factor that determines use of carrier s vehicle and cost per hundredweight. Higher product density

During 1980, the TL motor carriers fared quite well. These companies include J.B. Hunt, MS

For instance, J.B Hunt s revenues at the start of 1980 was around $25 million but increased to
$732 million starting 1991. MS Carriers increased from $35 million in 1980 to $152 million in
1991. During 1980s, TL segment of the motor carrier industry rapidly outgrew other segments
such as LTL, rail boxcars, and long haul private fleets. 3. Railroads have abandoned a significant
number of miles of track (over 260,000 miles) since 1916. Why has this trend developed? Will it
continue into the future? Why or why not? The major reason of railroads abandoning significant
number of miles of track (over 260,000) has been the rapid inter model transportation competition.
Since the gradual deregulation of railroad industry, the two major industry segments in motor
carrier transportation have been truck load (TL) and less than truck load (LTL) industries. TL and
LTL industry segments have rapidly developed after the US government reregulated the
transportation industry. There has been an increasing competition of rail boxcars with trucking
industry. The improvement of water ways carried out by the engineering corps of the U.S army has
also led to increased competition between inter modal transportation carriers. The trend is

Digital Convergence Impact On The Film Industry
Media changes drastically over short periods of time because of digital convergence. Just in the
past decades it has become much more advanced and useful for people all around the world. There
has been an extreme advance in media technology, especially that used in film industry. This
includes the creation of analog to digital converters, technology convergence, and the changes in the
media industry and audiences. In this article, I will analysis how digital convergence impact on the
filmindustry structure, forms of consumption with the innovation of revenue models and cultural
production.
Industry Structure
In the digital era of convergent media, the most obvious about the change of cinema is the storage
which rely on celluloid that you can touch in the past. Now, however, it is stored as electronic
packets of 1s and 0s which is virtual. The changes of the cinema is not only about the film storage,
but also the productionпјЊpost production, exhibition and distribution which is the main part of the
film industry structure. In the era of celluloid, the four steps of movie is relatively independent and
has its sequence. In digital movie, whereas, the connection and integration among four parts of
industry structure are ever close.
Production Post production

It is common to see soldiers die in war, but the conflict between India and Pakistan is no ordinary
war. The conflict between India and Pakistan is so big they are warning each other with Nuclear
war impacted by physical geography. How has the physical geography of Southern Asia impacted
the conflict between India and Pakistan since the 20th century? There are three major factors that
are affecting the relationship between India and Pakistan relating to geography. These three
factors are nature, history and religion that I will be writing about. One of the ways India and
Pakistan are in a conflict is because of religion and the geography of the region has impacted
religion.
Religion is in various places, in different atmospheres. Most people believe that symbolism,
beliefs are all shaped by the world we live in claims Elizabeth Bornman (1), this tells us most
commonly people are born into their religion. Different locations where people may have been

Kubrick And Communism
I believe Kubrick is trying to show in the movie Americans and how absurd they were being during
the time of the Red Scare. In the movie time and time again characters are bringing up accusations
about communism and it being the reason for everything going wrong in their life. Regardless of
the situation the easiest scapegoat was communismwhich during this time is what most American
people truly believed. Jack Ripper decided to send this attack plan to the pilots because he
believed that communism was the reason for his woman troubles and that if he would put a stop to
it than everything would go back to how he wanted it. Not only was this false but it is outrageous to
believe that something like relationship trouble could be because of communism.

Energy Detection Based Spectrum Sensing Method
In energy detector, the received signal is first filtered with a band pass filter in bandwidth to
normalize the noise variance and to limit the noise power. The output signal is then squared and
integrated as follows: for each in phase or quadrature component, a number of samples over a
time interval are squared and summed. The conventional energy detection method assumes that
the primary user signal is either absent or present and the performance degrades when the
primary user is absent and then suddenly appears during the sensing time. An adaptive method
to improve the performance of Energy detection based spectrum sensing method is proposed .In
this proposal, a side detector is used which continuously monitor the spectrum so as to improve
the probability of detection. The Primary user uses a QPSK signal with a 200 kHz band pass
bandwidth (BW). The sampling frequency is 8 times the signal BW. A 1024 point FFT is used to
calculate the received signal energy. Simulation results showed that when primary users appear
during the sensing time, the conventional energy detector has lower probability of detection as
compared to the proposed detector. The performance of energy detector is characterized by
Receiver Operating curves usually. AOC (Area under the Receiver Operating curves) is used to
analyze the performance of the energy detector method over Nakagami fading channels. Results
showed that a higher value of fading parameter leads to larger average AUC, and

Introduction
Cats are among the earliest companions of men and have been kept as pets in several homesteads
for decades. The health of the cat is very important, and thus, the owner needs to make sure that the
pet is always in good vigor. Attainment of good heath transpires with the use of foods that have the
right ingredients needed by the cats. Mainly, a majority of the food that cats consume is a
composition of foodstuffs that their owners offer. However, some of the foodstuffs that individuals
consume are not recommended for the pet as they affect their health. Vegans and vegetarians are
individuals, who do not consume a number of animal products such as meat, milk, and in some
instances, eggs. Fundamentally, there is a wide range of vegan food that manufactures provide in
the market for various pets. It is vital that the individuals purchase vegan food manufactured by

Catholic Reconciliation Essay
The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation is a foundation of the Catholic faith and of Christ s
teaching on earth, that forgiveness is vital to the ministry of God. This sacrament, however, is not
the first occurrence of a forgiveness ritual in history. In fact, forgiveness itself can be found in
cultures before Christ came down to earth. Three cultural groups, the Jews, the Taoists, and the
Jains each have their own version of an atonement ritual. However great these rituals are, the
Catholic ritual of Reconciliation/Penance/Confession is the best atonement ritual, and celebrates
one of the central human tenants of forgivenessof wrongdoings. The Jews have two ways of

Lawrence Alloway Pop Art Movement
Pop Art was an art movement that originated in the 1950s but swept across the American media
landscape in the 1960s. It suggests that art can be appreciated by all people, from the layman to the
wealthy elite, and that education is not something that necessitates a respect or an interest in art.
Instead, Pop Art, coined by British art critic Lawrence Alloway, which implies that the most
common man can come to understand and appreciate art if the content and mode of creation was
more familiar to him. Alloway indicated that the movement was special because of its reliance on
the power of the image . While the educated classes are familiar with ancient foreign mythologies,
Christian iconography, and global historical narratives, which were the topics that dominated the

Pop Art, in order words, was art beyond class, art that blurred the line between mass popular
cultureand high aesthetics. The 1957 Pop Artist Richard Hamilton described the movements as
having the following qualities: popularity (or mass appeal designed for a big audience), transience
which is a shorter term for shelf life, expendability (being easily forgotten or replaced with
something new), youth appeal, and glamour. Two famous Pop Artists are Roy Lichtensteinand
Jasper Johns. Two of their most famous paintings that was designed by them and how those

  • 3. European And Non-European Culture In The 1500s And 1600s Europeans had many goals throughout the 1500s and 1600s. To achieve their goals, they deferred to the non European culture. However, the question remains how did the Europeans accommodate themselves to Non European culture? The European traders and missionaries would accommodate themselves by integrating into the Non European culture, by adapting their physical appearance, by referring to the traditional practices, and through the response of the nations wants to European goods. In order for Europe s influence to be successful across the world, they had a guide written by Father Jean de BrГ©beuf, called Instructions for The Fathers of Our Society Who Shall Be Sent to The Hurons. In this small guide, Father Jean, writes instruction for other European members to follow in order to be successful in their influence in the new world. The thought of being the superior race, followed them to the new world, so embracing a culture that they thought was low class, was a big change to the European men. As to the other numerous things which may be unpleasant, they must be endured for the love of God, without saying anything or appearing to notice them. They did not do anything that contradicts the Natives belief, as they were trying to convert them to the idealized culture. They were doing so in a way that the Natives did not realize they were being converted. So, the Europeans change their normal customs in order to gain their trust. Professor Orange City Institute of Higher Education, Nagpur Email: makarand1234@gmail.com; Mobile 9422805719 ABSTRACT: Distribution Channel Margins form an important component of the distribution cost which directly affects the bottom line of any company. While the companies are trying to reduce the distribution costs, to improve their own margin pressures, there seem to be little innovations in this area. The margins offered to the distribution channel members by most of the companies are fixed in percentage, which is directly proportional to the price of the product. Distributor s Cost: The above model does not consider the cost of running the business of the Distributor. Due to diverse nature of the Indian markets, cost of running a distribution business differs from market to market. Some markets may have higher concentration of retailers in few places whereas some markets offer scattered locations of retailers, thereby affecting the transportation cost. In highly populous markets, the speed of credit cycle may be high as compared to less populous markets, thereby affecting the working capital requirement. The congestion on the urban roads, distribution time, manpower requirement, average order quantity, etc. also need customized considerations. 3. Return on Investment: When the margins are standardized, the ROI calculation is totally dependent on the volumes of business. Executives often inflate the targeted volume of business to meet the ROI expectations of the distributors. Many times, such inflated targets are unrealistic and unachievable, resulting in loss to the distributor. This results in loss of trust and goodwill of the firm and higher attrition rate of the distributors. 4. Some people, like myself, need practical models in order to understand certain concepts and theories. In our text book The Economy Today it completely ignores the intrinsic value of business decisions because you can t put a numeric value on it. The game Monopolyв„ў is all about the numbers. In the game of Monopolyв„ў you have goals: The object is to bankrupt all opponents. To do so, you must be dedicated and make each decision with the aim of improving your chances and wiping out your opponents. Know when to cause a building shortage If you have only low rent color groups, quickly build three or four houses per property to restrict the availability of houses to owners of high rent color groups. Never move up to a hotel anywhere if the return of houses to the bank would enable an opponent to develop an expensive color group. (Example: the Yellow group has just been formed. There are only three houses in the bank, but six hotels. You own the light blues with four houses on each. Do not buy hotels. Doing so would give the player owning the Yellows an opportunity to build up to hotels on them.) (Monopoly.com) By buying up the houses you are creating a barrier to entry. It is a barrier even if your opponent has the necessary funds to enter. This is because of the basic economic principal of scarce resources, or as Stephen Slavin calls it in Economics Control over essential resource. (Slavin 541) The game Monopoly is a prime illustration of scarce resources; that is, There s a limit to the amount we can produce in a given time with available resources. • 6. Low Gas Prices Last year, gas prices decreased under two dollars, for the first time in nearly seven years. Drivers enjoyed gas prices as low as 1.89 per gallon. Lower gas prices help people commute, especially those who are poor. When gas prices are low minorities spend less of their income on basic needs . However, many Americans question whether gas prices should continue to decrease or be kept at a price higher than what s been seen recently. When gas prices decrease, it threatens the natural gas industry, consequently laying off workers. While higher gas prices might decrease jobs in the oil industry, ultimately, when gas remains low it makes it affordable to the lower class and more money is kept in citizens pockets. With lower gas prices, the economy is digging itself out of the hole dug by Bush and his cronies. The deficit is going down. Inflation isn t a problem and unemployment is gradually decreasing (Cheap Gas Prices: Good or Bad?). The U.S. economy can increase by a lot when gas prices are lower. Lower oil prices could be better for the world economy for the same reasons that it s good for U.S. GDP growth: Cheaper energy makes it easier to make more stuff (What s So Bad About Low Gas Prices). It took about nine months for the average, which was $2.84 per gallon last June, to hit $1.86 last week (Evan Jones). It is the most crucial aspect of what we are. Humans have the most complex and intelligent brain out of the entire animal kingdom. The individual spirit of a human is determined by chemicals in the brain and the interaction between them and their surroundings. So what happens when our brain does not function correctly? What happens to the person with the ailments and what happens to those around them as a result of it? In both books at least one character demonstrates insanity. While the books do not specifically state that other characters have mental instability, there are many reasons to believe that some do. Helen and Ginnie are the two characters who show explicit insanity. Helen kills herself and leaves her two daughters in the care of their grandmother. Ginnie has suffered from mental illnessfor what appears to be most of her life and ends her life in a dementia ward. Humaninstinct is to survive, pass down genetics and protect your offspring. We as a species all feel this drive and when it is put aside, ignored or acted against it is a clear sign of insanity. • 10. Marketing Of Health Care Services This paper pertains to the marketing of Health Care Services and provides the steps and history of marketing in health care and the effects of marketing on the health care delivery system from 1950 to 1990. It introduces the health care consumers and their role in the marketing process as well as the factors that influence consumer behavior. These factors influence the success of marketingin health care. It also provides the requirements for successful marketing and current techniques and strategies used by health care organizations. According to the American Marketing Association, marketing is the activity, set of institutions and process for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offers that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large (2014). Marketing is a relatively new concept that was first introduced in 1910 and referred to as sales. Although the 1950 s is considered to be the beginning of the marketing era, it was not until the 1980 s that marketing was considered to have begun in healthcare, other than the pharmaceutical industry (Thomas, 2005). In the 1950s, the United States Economy was geared toward production and emphasized the interests of the producer over those of the consumer. Individuals had the mindset that a good product would sell for itself so there was no need for marketing. Hospitals and physicians for the most part considered marketing to be inappropriate and even unethical. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prime Global Insurance s policy is illustrated clearly in their terms and conditions that the one million dollar payout to the policy holder s beneficiary on the condition that the deathof the individual must not have occurred by suicidewithin two years of enacting the contract. My contribution to jury deliberations were to synthesize the evidence to most accurately depict the events that passed, and to come to a conclusion whether Mr. Temple died by suicide or accidental death, and if his death occurred before the two year time period as outlined in the insurancecompany s policy. • 12. The Theme Of Environmentalism In Frank Herbert s Dune In undoubtedly one of the grandest science fiction epics of all time, Frank Herbert s Dune focuses on a stunning blend of politics, environmentalism, adventure, and mysticism. Recipient of the Nebula Award and Hugo Award, Dune explores the effects of a changing global climate most prominently. The role of science fictionisn t so much to predict the future, rather than to astound the audience with its possible leading avenues. Dunehas a sparse ecosystem and Herbert explores for instance how the limitation of water would transform the planetary ecology and possible sustenance for human life. Thus Dune, stands as an early example that explores environmentalism and ecology, effectively communicating these novel ideas in the 1960 s to a new and young audience and generation. Herbert focuses on the untapped human potential of transcending the primary state of living conditions, however with a plethora of limitations and consequences. Particularly interesting, the novel as a whole serves as an allegory for the dangers of environmental shortages and damages. Although some may presume the novel Dune as confusing archaic misfit for a science fiction novel, these romantic critics are often too dogmatic in their provincial ideologies. Several warnings are presented throughout the course of the novel on ancient dangers such as the greed of mercantile corporations, the intertwined complications of religion and politics, conflicts of feudalism, and most prominently ecological fragility. ... • 15. Analysis Of Tis Pity She s A Whore We admire disobedience and defiance in the face of the inevitable. In Tis pity she s a whore John Ford portrays a corrupt Parmesan society in which two siblings are defying the conventions of the world they are leaving in for a chance for their incesteus love to exist. From the beginning of the play Giovanni and Annabella s love story line seems to be following the conventional formula, however we are constantly reminded that it is anything but alike conventional. Both protagonists are disobeying society s conventions, going against morality, nature, religion and culture. Throughout the play Ford is constantly keeping the audience in a state of confusion and uncertainty of weather we sympathies with the tragic lovers or we are disgusted by the incesteus nature of their relationship: O, Annabella, I am quite undone: the love of thee, my sister, and the view of thy immortal beauty hath untuned all harmony both of my rest and life . Ford uses the conventional love language and imagery, which for a moment tempts the audience to disregard the unnaturalness of their love and apply the conventional innocence of two lovers on it: On my knees, brother, even by our mother s dust, I charge you, do not betray me to your mirth or hate; love me or kill me, brother. Annabella and Giovanni announce their love to the audience giving wedding like vows to each other, however the audience cannot overlook that Giovanni and Annabella demonstrate the awareness of the forbidden nature of ... • 17. Theme Of Revenge In Shakespeare s Hamlet While seeking revenge, dig two graves one for yourself (Douglas Horton). This quote can be easily related to world events throughout history, for instance, Adolf Hitler s revenge for Germany s defeat in WWI. While getting his revenge, Hitler dug his own grave and took his life. Even though in Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Hamlet doesn t go as far as Hitler and didn t kill himself, the revenge for his father took him closer to death as the story progressed. This theme of avenging one s loved ones is seen throughout every act in Hamlet . The theme of avenging one s loved ones is seen in Act I when Hamlet is told the truth about his father s death. Even though in the beginning of the play, Hamlet is sad and depressed, this discovery turns Hamlet into a vengeful person. In Hamlet the idea of avenging one s loved ones is seen in Act I when Hamlet says to the ghost of his father, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift as meditation or the thoughts of love, may sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare Scene 5, line 29). In this quote, Hamlet is asking the ghost of his father to tell him how his father died in order for him to avenge him faster than a person falls in love. This quote represents the theme by showcasing how much Hamlet wants to avenge his father s death without any second thoughts. This quote is significant to the theme in general by showing a different side of Hamlet that has never been seen, as far as we know, which is his ferocity and introduces a plan ... Traveling over 5,000 miles they came to a little quiet school in Peachtree Corners with not much happening until the phone rang in Doc s room asking for Mr.West, Mr.Nail, and Ms.Sanders immediately. They went to the front where three officials were standing and rushed them out to PDK Airport to fly back to Rome. An example of the negative effects of of rent seeking can be found in occupational licenses. While occupational licenses were noted for increasing income by 15% over the free market value of an occupation, they are also charged with inhibiting entrepreneurship (especially among low income workers), raising prices, and lowering productivity . In fact, a 2011 study even indicated that the existence of occupational licenses may be responsible for removing as many 2.85 million jobs from the US economy . Given that rent seeking has been blamed for income inequality, job loss, and lower economic productivity, it is no surprise that there have been a variety of academic works on the subject. One such work is an article by Michael Munger entitled Rent Seek and You Will Find. In the article, Munger describes his involvement in the bidding process for HUD grants while working in Charlotte. Big, ugly homes for big, ugly people . #47 Situation: This dialogue is by Quentin, he says this to Margo while they were passing near Casavilla and then Quentin says to stop the car to Margo in Casavilla. Analysis: By saying big and ugly to people and about spanish tradition, we can say that Quentin is racist. By saying, Spanish style homes with red tile roof and later saying Big, ugly homes for big, ugly people . • 35. Energy Detection Based Spectrum Sensing Method In energy detector, the received signal is first filtered with a band pass filter in bandwidth to normalize the noise variance and to limit the noise power. The output signal is then squared and integrated as follows: for each in phase or quadrature component, a number of samples over a time interval are squared and summed. The conventional energy detection method assumes that the primary user signal is either absent or present and the performance degrades when the primary user is absent and then suddenly appears during the sensing time. An adaptive method to improve the performance of Energy detection based spectrum sensing method is proposed .In this proposal, a side detector is used which continuously monitor the spectrum so as to improve the probability of detection. The Primary user uses a QPSK signal with a 200 kHz band pass bandwidth (BW). The sampling frequency is 8 times the signal BW. A 1024 point FFT is used to calculate the received signal energy. Simulation results showed that when primary users appear during the sensing time, the conventional energy detector has lower probability of detection as compared to the proposed detector. The performance of energy detector is characterized by Receiver Operating curves usually. AOC (Area under the Receiver Operating curves) is used to analyze the performance of the energy detector method over Nakagami fading channels. Results showed that a higher value of fading parameter leads to larger average AUC, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Catholic Reconciliation Essay The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation is a foundation of the Catholic faith and of Christ s teaching on earth, that forgiveness is vital to the ministry of God. This sacrament, however, is not the first occurrence of a forgiveness ritual in history. In fact, forgiveness itself can be found in cultures before Christ came down to earth. Three cultural groups, the Jews, the Taoists, and the Jains each have their own version of an atonement ritual. However great these rituals are, the Catholic ritual of Reconciliation/Penance/Confession is the best atonement ritual, and celebrates one of the central human tenants of forgivenessof wrongdoings. Reconciliation is a communal activity that is, firstly, linked with God through the priest, unlike Jainism; secondly, repeatable as often as necessary, unlike Judaism; and is less of a physical balancing with the world and more of an atonement for the wrongdoings the sinner did unto those around them as well as done towards God, unlike Taoism. All of these religious atonement rituals, however, point to the fact that human beings are erring creatures that need to be forgiven of impurities in order to better themselves on a spiritual level. From China to the Middle East and as far West as the globe will spin, human beings share an inert desire to right themselves with whatever moral system they have in place through their own religious belief systems. • 41. Lawrence Alloway Pop Art Movement Pop Art was an art movement that originated in the 1950s but swept across the American media landscape in the 1960s. It suggests that art can be appreciated by all people, from the layman to the wealthy elite, and that education is not something that necessitates a respect or an interest in art. Instead, Pop Art, coined by British art critic Lawrence Alloway, which implies that the most common man can come to understand and appreciate art if the content and mode of creation was more familiar to him. Alloway indicated that the movement was special because of its reliance on the power of the image . While the educated classes are familiar with ancient foreign mythologies, Christian iconography, and global historical narratives, which were the topics that dominated the subject matter of most art, the lower classes lacked the context to enjoy many great works of art....
