Essay On Biofeedback Technology
Innovations in biofeedback technology provide the unique opportunity for dynamic and visual
intervention of articulatory disorders, especially in cases where the target sound is hard to
describe or see. One of the primary modes of this visual biofeedback is electropalatography (EPG),
which provides information about tongue hard palate contact points through sensors integrated in a
custom made artificial palate moulded to fit against a speaker s hard palate. EPG intervention has
been previously investigated in its efficacy in remediating persistent misarticulations and found to
have short term benefits for children and adolescents who are profoundly deaf or hard of hearing
(Bacsfalvi, Bernhardt, and Gick, 2003; Bacsfalvi, Bernhardt, and... Show more content on

Established long term benefit would be strong support in adopting EPG intervention into
mainstream therapy methodology. In addition, there is the barrier of cost. Since, the intervention
equipment itself is not easily obtained by speech pathologists, a strong evidence base with more
large scale randomized studies is necessary to justify the cost of this intervention method.
Currently, many of the studies examining this method of intervention are comprised of a small
case series or a single case study due to the wide variation in articulatory errors assessed by this
method of therapy. It is generally accepted that it is difficult to stereotype the articulatory patterns
of deaf and hard of hearing individuals, due to the wide range of variability in segmental
production between and within speakers of normal hearing (Vuckovich, M. 2006). For this reason,
this intervention method has largely been evaluated via case series. However, adjusting targets to
examine a more comprehensive battery of sounds would allow for a larger sample size and
randomized design. It has yet to be investigated if individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing need
continued practice with electropalatography technology in order to establish long term
generalization of articulatory patterns. It would be crucial to determine production improvements
of treatment targets, generalization targets, as well

Discrimination at Workplace
Discrimination at workplace
In the USA there has been the problem of discrimination at places of work against people with
disability, based on race, sex, religion in almost all quarters and this has prompted quite a number
of legislations and acts to be passed in a bid to guarantee the people the access and right to use and
utilize all the public amenities as well as get the right and equal treatment as an American.
Vivian Pearson (2012) notes that the federal law prohibits the employer from making hiring or
firing decision based on the gender, race, religion, marital status, age, country of origin or even
membership in a labor union. The specific federal laws that govern the hiring and firing of
employees as well as discrimination of employees at work place are Title VII of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964, Title I and Title V of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Age Discrimination
in Employment Act of 1967, as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1991, collectively the are referred to
as the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity laws. The well known Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) outlines the various provisions that are formatted to ensure the people with disability
live a normal and comfortable life. It has various provisions ranging from the equal employment
opportunities, equal rights to access and enjoy State and Local Government Activities, easy access
to public transport, access and equal utilization of public accommodations, consideration in the

The Women s Movement Essay
The Women s Movement The women s rights movement was a huge turning point for women
because they had succeeded in the altering of their status as a group and changing their lives of
countless men and women. Gender, Ideology, and Historical Change: Explaining the Women s
Movement was a great chapter because it explained and analyzed the change and causes of the
women s movement. Elaine Tyler May s essay, Cold War
Ideology and the Rise of Feminismand
Women s Liberation and Sixties Radicalism by Alice Echols both gave important but different
opinions and ideas about the women s movement. Also, the primary sources reflect a number of
economic, cultural, political, and demographic influences on the women s movement. This chapter

In her essay she relates the rise of feminist consciousness in the 1960s to numerous changes in
American society, especially the rise of other protest movements. Echols said, On September 7,
1968, the sixties came to that most apple pie of American institutions, the Miss America Pageant
(Echols, 308). The reason she said this was because one hundred women s liberation activists
descended upon Atlantic City to protest the pageant s promotion of physical attractiveness as the
primary measure of women s worth. From there, the protestors set up a Freedom Trash Can and
filled it with high heeled shoes, bras, girdles, hair curlers, false eyelashes, typing books, and
representative copies of Cosmopolitan, Playboy, and Ladies Home Journal. They wanted to burn
the contents but couldn t because of the laws for bonfires on the boardwalk. Also, word had been
leaked to the press that there would be a symbolic bra burning. However, there were no bras burnt
that day. But the image of the bra burning, militant feminists remains part of our popular mythology
about the women s liberation movement. The Miss America demonstration represents an important
moment in the history of the sixties as well as the women s movement (Echols, 309 310). Although
the women s liberation movement only began to take shape toward the end of the decade, it was a
quintessentially sixties movement. The women s liberation movement alone carried on and
extended into the 1970s that

Our Founding Fathers Effect on the Past, Present, and...
In the beginning, the nation s Founders were profoundly skeptical of direct democracy. They
believed that the follies of direct democracy far outweighed any virtues it might possess (Politics
in American pg. 76). According to an essay by Rose Wilder Lane (Lane, 1943), George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, James Madison, and James
Monroe feared democracy. The founders believed that the Constitution left all other governmental
powers to the states (Politics in American 2009 pg. 133). Our Founding Fathers never intended for
America to become a democracy. Most of them had served in the American Revolution, either as
soldiers in the Continental Army or as part of a legislative body. After the Revolutionary... Show

Essentially, the new constitution was written to protect the people from a democracy. The
Founding Fathers had learned from the past that a democracy was a form of lawless mob rule.
They saw that the ancient Greeks tried a true democracy that had failed and led to chaos. A true
democracy would not run efficiently or properly. The Founding Fathers saw our Government as a
Republic (McManus 2001). They were realists who believed in limited government and low taxes.
Their ideal was to build a unique structure of government to put into action their beliefs in
nationalism, limited government, and separation of powers with check and balances, and judicial
reviews. The Founding Fathers wanted to generate a strong government while ensuring that the
government would not become a threat to liberty or property. It was also decided that the
legislative branch should consist of two houses. So a new constitution was drawn up and once
ratified, the process of organizing a new government began. On September 13, 1788, Congress
determined that the city of New York should be the seat of the new government. The capital was
moved Philadelphia in 1790 and to Washington D.C. in the year 1800 where it remains today
(Lawler 2010). The process for the creation of the new government continued when George
Washington was unanimously elected the first president, and John Adams of Massachusetts, the
vice president. Adams

The Battle Of The Civil War Essay
Throughout the years 1861 to 1865 the American Civil War took place and it is known as
Americas bloodiest war. The cause of the Civil war was the debate between free states and slave
states over the government trying to prohibit slavery. In 1860 Abraham Lincoln became president
of the United States and ran on the platform to keep slavery out of the new unclaimed territories of
the United States. Once Lincoln became president seven southern states seceded from the Union
ultimately creating the Confederate states of Americaaccording to Civilwar.org. The reason the
Civil war was so gruesome was due to the advent of rifling within military training. Secondly the
reason for such a bloody war was the invention of the Mene ball by General Henry Shrapnel. The
mene ball was cone shaped with a hollow base. When the Mene ball would hit its target pieces of
the metal ball would disperse in every direction not only hitting its target but those around it. At
the end of the war there were 620,000 soldier deaths, 50,000 civilian deaths. There were roughly
as many deaths in this one war than all other U.S. wars combined. The films Gods and Generals
and Gettysburg will be compared and contrasted in order to show the differences between the two
films and what exactly changed between each film. The film Gods and Generals takes place right
when the Union troops are tasked to repel the rebellion. Robert E Lee was offered command of the
Union army but he declined the offer. Thomas Stonewall

How I Make Standard Automobiles More Eco Friendly
How To Make Standard Automobiles More Eco friendly
There are many ways to make cars more Eco friendly, but the least common way is to change the
engine to run on a different form of fuel. Jimmy Buffett changed his van to only run on vegetable
oil and now calls it the green tomato . There are many different options for fuel replacements that
could save money as well. Converting the engine is the least common but probably the least
expensive. If the driver does convert your automobile to a non fuel using machine, will save money
and have your car smelling like a McDonald s french fry
The next alternative for the Eco friendly theme is to consider Eco drifting. Eco drifting is an easy

Henry Ford once said, I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the
family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed or the best
materials, by the best men to be hired (New York Times Par 3). That statement is definitely true
because Henry Ford built the Ford Model T which was one of most popular automobile in the
18th century. Henry Ford created one of the biggest car brands in the world. Ford helped Carroll
Shelby to construct the Shelby Cobra as well as the Shelby mustang. The most recognizable
automotive vehicles manufactured by Ford include the Ford Raptor, GT, Mustang, F 150, F 250, F
350, F 550, Focus, Fiesta, Transit, Taurus, Explorer, Edge, Fusion, Escape, and many more. Many
other automotive companies have come and gone, but Ford seems to stay one of the most in
demand companies in history.
Another famous automotive engineer was Louis Chevrolet. Chevrolet is a competing American
automotive dealer. The two most well known car engineers from United States history include
Henry Ford and Louis Chevrolet. The two companies have prospered into billion dollar companies.
Each year when new automotive models come out the company raises money. In recent sales of
1989 to 2013 the automotive brands fluctuated about who was better. In recent years, the brands

The Worldview And The Naturalistic Worldview
If one believes in the naturalistic worldview, there will be no value or purpose to life. We will
have no explanation for why we humans are here. In fact we will have no explanation for why
any maternal thing is here. Humans and other material things would be on the same level.
Humans would not be anymore more special then a rat, a flower, or stone. Also one would have no
goal to reach. He would be basically floating along subject to chance. In naturalism, there is no one
to set the standards for ethics. So where do their ethics come from? Some of the philosophers have
set standards like when Epicurus said he was not talking about sensual pleasure when he said our
highest good was to attain pleasure. The question is though, who are they to set these standards?
They have as much to base their statements off of as the man done the road who says it is okay to
attain sensual pleasures. So if something feels good to someone or makes them happy, what is to
stop them from doing it. When we take a look at abortion, what could be wrong with it? It is only
changing the course of some chance process. If it helps someone, what is to stop them from doing
it? Naturalism has nothing that can prove it wrong. Now lets compare hunting for animals and
murder of humans. What is the difference? There would be no difference, since one would not hold
any special place over the other. This means that there is nothing wrong with killing a human. In
fact, there would be nothing wrong with

Fortunato Short Story Analysis
This story by Edgar Allan Poe is one of premeditated murder. Montresor tells the story of the
night when he took his revenge on Fortunato, his friend. Montresor is upset about a long term
insult between his family and Fortunato s because Montresor says: Thousand injuries that he
has suffered at the hands of Fortunato . He plots to murder his friend during carnival, an event
that is usually represented by joy. Montresor chooses the exact moment when the man is drunk
and not in his correct mind. Montresor tricks Fortunato into the catacombs to try a wine and
eventually seals Fortunato within the catacombs to die. The story s setting describes one
closely related to horror, as Poe causes the readers to predict, to fear, and tremble in the opening.
The atmosphere of horror increases much more as Montresor describes his adventure with
Fortunato into the vaults. There are several examples of verbal irony within Montresor s words.
Montresor says one thing that has more than one meaning. Early on, Montresor gives
demanding orders to his attendants, not to leave the house, knowing that this will ensure that
they would. More than once in the writing we can see Montresor calling Fortunato his friend,
while taking him to death. Fortunato says that his cough will not kill him. A cough won t kill
me , he says, and Montresor replies, True, true . This quote is probably the most memorable line
of the story because he was sure that the cause of his death would not be his cough. Verbal irony
along with dark humor seems to fill the whole story. It kind of baffles the reader to think one can
be so blindsided into falling for some of the things Montresor has set up for Fortunato s fate.
Many times verbal irony has more than one meaning which makes this story as great as it is. In
Montresor s last words there is the last example of irony, it happened when Montresor realized
that his friend had finally passed. He called Fortunato s name repeatedly, with no answer.
Montresor threw his torch into the small hole and it fell into Fortunato s place of death. His last
words to his friend were In pace requiescat, which means rest in peace. The irony can be
interpreted in two ways, one is Montresor wishing his friend to rest in

Equal Rights and Gender Equality
Between 1923 and 1972, when the Equal Rights passed you would believe that Gender Equality
would end. It was passed in 35 states. General Equality has been going on for years. Everything
would make everything so much easier if it was Equal for both a men and a women. Where it s at
home, at work, or even at school. Why does one gender have to be better than another? Achieving
Gender equality in educationmeans that boys and girls will have equal opportunities to realize their
full human rightsand contribute to and benefit from economic, social, cultural, and political
development. Our generation can benefit so much. But it if they can benefit why is this only
happening in 35 states instead of all over the world. The biggest Gender Equality problem has to
do with education. A person s education shouldn t be determine because of their Gender. Both a
man and a women can have the same passion for education for wanting to be someone and go
somewhere in life. In Pakistan a women doesn t have the equal right to go to school and learn?
This isn t just happening in Pakistan, it s passing in many other places. Now why does this affect
a women more than it a man? And that s because in Pakistan a women doesn t have the same right
in education as a man does. But why not do something about it. Providing a quality, education leads
to improved enrollment and retention but also helps to ensure that boys and girls are able to fully
realize the benefits of education.

The term motion graphics was first posed by John Withney, the well known animator, in 1960. Saul
Bass was the first one who outstandingly took advantage of motion graphics in his works (Yu, Li,
2008).
But, there is no universally accepted definition of the term Motion Graphics. It generally refers to
the movement or animation of words, letters, shapes, or artistic elements, sometimes within three
dimensional space.

Isn t it sad how such brutality is willingly accomplished? How Violent behaviour is pinpointed in
every continent, country and city of the world.
Why is it that when faced with anger, we have such a strong feeling to fight back in an overly
aggressive manner. The news is full of stories about murders, kidnappings, terrorist attacks and
wars. Many people have the idea that violence is the solution to everything, when in reality it is
really the problem. But... may I remind you that violence is not necessarily inevitable. Have you
ever thought of this? There is nowhere in our biology textbooks that states that such behaviour is
innate. In fact, we do not have a DNA designated for violence. In fact, the only reasonable
argument behind the fact that many believe war is inevitable is because we have caused it to
become this way.

The repetition of turn it around makes the listeners think about what should they do and what
can they do to try to stop things like children playing with guns, because the repetition makes the
listeners hear it more then once and therefore the will absorb it more and remember it , so they
can turn it around. Jack Johnson is writing about how children are influenced by what they see
on TV. In this song the boy watches violent shows that have people shooting each other with
guns, the child now sees guns as something you are able to use on people and kills another child.
Sure I pulled the trigger but it needed to be done, Cause life s been killing me ever since it
begun this means that even the boy is blaming his misdeeds on life, this challenges the beliefs of
society because the boy is saying life is bad now, and there isn t much good in life. TV has a large

children might be watching TV. The second stanza also makes listeners argue whether or not

Anatomy is the branch of biology which describes the structure of the body and the relationship of

The essential components of the circulatory system are, the heart, blood and blood vessels, it is

METHODS OF OBSERVATION
Narrative/free description/written record or running record
A running record is a very detailed description of the behaviour of a child over a short period of
time, often less than five minutes. The observer watches a child or group of children and note
down everything he sees, which gives the portrait of the child and his activity during this particular
period of time.
The observer sits quietly and tries not to draw attention to him as his interaction may affect the
behaviour of the child. It helps to avoid eye contact!
These observations usually cover a short period of time are written in the present tense because you

The aggressive behaviour might include hitting, biting, scratching, and verbal abuse or temper
tantrum.
The advantages of event sample are very important, they give us very precise data, when the data
has been collected the data is very accessible. One very important advantage is that it can reveal
unexpected patterns and behaviour.
The disadvantages of event sample are that when the child is observed it is very difficult not to be
noticed this by the child this is turn may give false results. Another main disadvantage is observing
a child may be very difficult at times, the observer may lose concentration therefore not able to log
all the details.
Anecdotal
Narrative of descriptive paragraph recorded after the behaviour occurs.
An anecdote is a story. In reality when the child is being observed its like telling a story when
and what happens. It is a very difficult thing to do but the data collected is very important to child
psychologists, all the data collected is normally in the past the When used for observing; it is a
story about a child s behaviour.
Anecdotes are the most commonly used tool in gathering information about children.
One of the main reasons for this is because they are quick to record. It is a good idea to carry a
notebook and pen with you at all times. Quickly jot down some brief notes to jog your memory.

Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial
activation and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction
and cell death (Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of
microglia has been found in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive
astrocytes have been shown to form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989;
Ho et al., 2005). Additionally, numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated
in both patients with AD and transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al.,
2000; Ruan et al., 2009). Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit
for AD remains unclear. Epidemiological studies show a possible association between suppression
of inflammation and reduced risk for AD (in t Veld et al., 2001; Vlad et al., 2008). Therefore, drugs
targeting neuroinflammation might provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of this
devastating disease. In the central nervous system, microglia and astrocytes are the major type of

The journey in Heart of Darkness spans not only the capricious waters extending our physical
world, but also the perplexing ocean which exists in the heart of man. Through Marlow s somewhat
overenthusiastic eyes, we perceive the mystery that is humanity, and the blurred line between
darkness and light. It is an expedition into the deepest crevices of the human heartand mind
bringing on an awareness, and finally descending into the abyss of hell abiding in each of us.
Conrad s use of wordplay and symbolism shows the reader that this journey is something much
deeper. In Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conradconveys the themes of darkness, duality, and
imperialism through Marlow s tale of his experience along the Congo River. To begin with,... Show

Savage. This is the dominant theme of duality because the white men in the story are supposed
to be civil and the Africans are called savages, when in reality of the story, the white men are
savages because of the way they treat the Africans. Next, there is Kurtz vs Marlow. Kurtz loses
all morals to the wilderness though Marlow does not give into primitive lusts. Marlow is,
however, tempted which is why he is haunted by Kurtz. Kurtz represents complete savagery, lack
of darkness and strength, all things that Marlow is trying to withstand and comprehend. By
examining Kurtz soul, he must examine his own soul as well. Lastly, there is Kurtz intended vs
the tribal woman. The women of Kurtz life are opposite yet alike in their beauty and love for
Kurtz. The intended is the symbol of light all of the sad light of the cloudy evening took refuge
on her forehead. This fair hair, this pale visage, this pure brow seemed surrounded by an ashy halo
(Conrad 1902, 112). On the contrary, the tribal woman is the symbol of primitive darkness. Savage
and superb; wild eyed and magnificent there was something ominous and stately in her deliberate
progress (Conrad 1902, 157). The similarities are proven when Conrad writes She put out her
arms...stretching them back and with clasped pale hands across the fading and narrow sheen of the
window...resembling in this gesture another one, tragic also...stretching bare brown arms over the

Artemis s Role In The Trojan War
Artemis was the Greek goddess of childbirth, chastity, virginity, hunting, and wild animals. Artemis
held so much power, she was capable of killing, plaguing, transforming people, or even healing,
which arguably makes her one of the most powerful Greek Goddesss.
Artemis s birth is associated with some conflict, as some accounts affiliate her to be siblings to
Athena, Ares, and Demeter. However, most professionals state she is the daughter of Zeusand Leto
and she is the twin sister of Apollo. This is the general knowledge everyone knows and agrees on.

and very well known amongst the people of Troy. On the Greek s journey to Troy, Artemis held
the sea at a standstill which halted the journey. This was until an Oracle came and said they could
win the goddess s heart by sacrificing another goddess s daughter (Mythology).
Along with Artemis s power and skill, she was a perfectionist. In one myth, it is told that her
brother, Apollo, challenged her to prove her ability to shoot a bow and arrow. The challenge was
held at sea, and was that whoever could hit the distant target won the challenge. Artemis s power
was so great, and her aim was so perfect, that she hit the target flawlessly. No matter what she did,

Lord Capulet To Blame In Romeo And Juliet Essay
Romeo and Juliet, the William Shakespeare play on star crossed lovers caught in the wrong
circumstances, causing their suicidal deaths. It is supposed that the play was first performed
between 1594 and 1595, and that it was first printed in 1597. This tragedy known as the death of
Romeo and Juliet has been questioned to who is to blame. Let s rewind the clock back to where
this all started, the feud between the Montague s and Capulet s. I believe Lord Capulet is to
blame as he was one of the parents involved in this feud, and many of his character flaws
contributed to the deaths, therefore he is to blame. Lord Capulet s many character flaws lead to the
death of his daughter, one being he is extremely controlling. Since men were ranked higher than

The Capulet s were known to be the ones continuing the family feud as they were always the
ones provoking the Montague s and starting the fights. As males were the head of the family in
charge, he is to blame for the continuing feud. Fate was also a major role with this flaw. Although
Lord Capulet was blamed for continuing the feud, this plays along with fate and that fate kept
this feud going. Act 1 Scene 1 Line 65 he says to Lady Capulet, What noise is this? Give me my
long sword, ho! If the feud was not continued by Lord Capulet, Romeo and Juliet wouldn t have
had to hide their love for one another nor keep their marriage a secret. Romeo wouldn t have been
banished for killing Tybalt and most importantly, they wouldn t have died. In this scenario Lord
Capulet should not have tried to pull out weapons to fight the Montague s as it is shown that the
feud between the families can be linked back to him, as he is being confrontational and aggressive.
Lord Capulet was exceptionally antagonistic towards the Montague s, leading towards the feud
being continued which spiralled towards the tragic

Romeo And Juliet Love At First Sight Essay
The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of love and terrible tragedy. Many people have argued if it
was actually love that they were experiencing, or if it was just a physical attraction. The article,
Love At First Sight by Elizabeth Bernstein, provides facts that prove Romeo and Juliet were not in
love, but experiencing strong infatuation with each other. Both Romeo and Juliet were

he had loved her instantly. According to the article, Loveat first sight is a phenomenon that 15%
of people have reported experiencing it. They described it as a once in a lifetime situation. It
seems impossible that Romeo had experienced this with two girls within a few days. As for Juliet,
she is only 13 years old. Many studies have found that children can not love somebody romantically

Feminism In The Scarlet Letter
Strong Men but Even Stronger Women Women have had to be strong even when they have been
told that they have no say. In The Scarlet Letter Hawthorne the main character is one of these
women. The feminist point of view can be seen in the role of Pearl as a young child. She will one
day look back an realize how strong her mother had to be to wear the scarlet letterwhen she knew
the truth all along. The Puritan rules and regulations were very strict. Her transformation
throughout the novel, linked directly to Hester s influence, is also a direct result of the Puritan
moral code that served as a catalyst for this profound change a change still reverberating in today
s society. Pearl s metamorphosis can best be demonstrated by concentrating on two specific areas
within The Scarlet Letter: Hawthorne s repetition of certain images and words used to describe
Pearl s actions and inherent nature, and Hester s role as a mechanism to bring about the new
woman all of the Pearls of the future (Daniels). [This is a very long quote, Michael, which should

By way of most magazine ads, this ad for Glassex window cleaner checks all of the right boxes.
It is eye catching, visually interesting, clever, effective, and gets its point across.Overall, it is a
very strong piece that the designer took time and effort to plan and create. However, there is much
more to this simple concept than meets the eye. By taking a closer look at this magazine ad, new
meaning and metaphors can be found in this image that both directly and indirectly connect to the
original objective of the piece. At first glance, the image obviously represents the common motif of

I associate magicians with the magician that was employed at the restaurant my family
frequented when I was a child, and I was always delighted when he would show us his magic
tricks and make us balloon animals. For me, this ad exemplifies the more positive reaction to
magic and mystery and reminds me of a time filled with wonder. However, I resent the idea of
using a woman as a prop in this piece, as it only furthers the objectification of women that I have
always disapproved of. The common motif of a young, attractive woman acting as a magician s
assistant is used in this ad to entice viewers to buy this product, as it has been proven by many
ads in the past that beautiful people can often sell themselves and their products much better than
those who are not. Viewers of this piece who feel the same way about the unsavory use of women
in the media may believe that the makers of Glassex products condone the treatment of women in
this way after viewing this ad, discouraging them from purchasing their window cleaner under the
pretense that they do not want to support businesses that capitalize on the objectification of
women. It is also important to note that the male figure in the ad is not attractive himself,
furthering the double standard that women are only used as sexual objects to sell products in
advertisement and men can escape that objective. Men are not expected to be attractive nor are
they faulted for it, and the effectiveness of the ad as a whole may be put in question had the roles

The basic story of the New Testament is that Jesus Christ is God incarnate as our Savior. All the

The Theme Of Adoption In Worse By Christopher Marlowe
A flock of sheep wanders as the all seeing shepherd meanders nearby. He watches them closely as
they consume their daily vittles provided by nature, making sure not even one sheep goes astray,
or that any predator comes to disrupt the supposed bliss. The shepherd s love for his flock is that
of presumed perfection. He maintains the assumption that as long as he guards the flock and
provides ample grazing land, the flock will provide him with copious amounts of wool: that their

success and to make his lineage proud. Hata believes that women s roles are that of sheep to provide
for men when provided for but to his dismay, this is simply not true. Chang rae Lee captures this
perfectly; never before would a woman such as Kkutaeh, Sunny, or Mary ever deny the
shepherdship of a strong, successful man. With the power shift in gender throughout modern
history, women have gained much more power and have more ability to be their own shepherd
than ever before. No longer will a man like Jiro Kurohata be able to have a successful flock of
heirs if he does not adapt to how women have changed. Women today are much stronger than their
ancestors of sheep, they no longer accept protection in exchange for their wool. Doc Hata s

developed into being much more than just the need of protection, his promises prove to be
insufficient in sufficing his loves with their true needs: a person who will provide them a deeper

Many terms and concepts are commonly associated with mental illness. the topic of mental illness
has many overlapping and subset definitions. Mental illness, a term that encompasses a wide range
of mental disorders, contains subcategories of mental disorders distinguishable by effects on a
person s behavior, thinking, and mood. Disorders are the most commonly referred to an aspect of
mental illness; types of disorders are schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. Syndromes, even
more, specific than disorders, pertain to particular systems within subcategories of disorders and

Power Ball Lottery Research Paper
Let us take an example of a research that I am presently working on. How to win the Power Ball
Lottery . As many of you may be aware, In this lottery game a player picks 5 numbers ranging
between 1 and 69 and a Bonus number picked between the range 1 to 26. Now when I see the
history of all the drawings, the population contains extreme values such as multiple numbers in a
lottery pick greater than 33. These extremes increases the spread of data affecting the sample mean.
Reference Site: http://lotterytrends.com/winning/powerball/numbers.php (Links to an external
site.) As I calculate the sample means, the extremities are flattened out ,as we have a large sample
size, and the average of these sample means lowers the spread of data inturn

The Homosexuality As An Interdisciplinary Theorization Of...
The proposition of my paper is to propose the homosexuality as an interdisciplinary theorization of
Caravaggio s artwork done in Rome. The purpose of this paper is to not dig deeper into the
homosexuality of Caravaggio but to give a different representation and perspective of
homosexuality. This paper does not discuss the actual sexuality of Caravaggio, but more so how we
perceive norms that can differentiate with connotations to sexuality in Rome during his lifetime.
Homosexualityis intertwined with norm systems that concerns sexuality. Caravaggio has some
significant traits in his early art work done in Rome such as sensualism and the extensive use of
charm. The sensual charisma has been extensively explained in religious terms and given a
simpler cultural context by Maurizio Calvesi. There have been many debates where Caravaggio
was a homosexual or not, based on the paintings he had done that had young men and young boys
with seductive trances on their faces. The few examples of this would be The Cardsharps, Boy
bitten by a lizard, The Lute Player, Bacco, the Musicans, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St John the
Baptist. Also, to contribute to the assumption that Caravaggio was a homosexual was the private
paintings he has done which include a naked Pluto, Jupiter, and Neptune, in order to symbolize a
perfect human in an inhumane world. The paintings on the ceilings help bring to light the social
culture that shows the norms directly connected to sexuality in Rome at

A Brief Note On The Cisco Unified Computing System Essay
1.1.3 Case Study 3 [CFA (Country Fire Authority) Agile Responsive Technology] This Australian
organization also deployed the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), VMware, and NetApp
to scale Infrastructure in their data center. [10] In addition to this, Cisco Nexus 1000v series
switch was added to provide visibility of virtual machines at the virtual access layer. This helped
to improve the virtualization intelligence of the network. This platform helped to improve
scalability, which was the primary necessity of the organization. [10] The Cisco UCS manager
at the organization is mostly pleased because of the single pane where you can access the
servers and therefore ease manageability. Virtualization now seems an inevitable move for
organizations that want to remain at top notch. With its great benefits it is unavoidable. It is
because of this that I focus my project on Layer 2 domain expansion by VXLAN Overlay
Technology. 1.2 VXLAN [Overlay Technology] The case studies are based on VXLAN basic
idea and its benefits. Originally VXLAN had been invented for the big benefit where in VLAN,
user cannot have more than thousand VLANs in network per device but now, we can get 16
million VXLAN configuration possible on single virtual switch environment using combined
approach of Cisco and VMware products. [13] 1.3 Literature Reviews Various research papers and
existing published patterns on VXLAN documents helped in selecting this topic and two of them
are described in the below

Illegal Immigration Problem Solution
Immigration Problem Solution Essay
Illegal immigration is becoming overwhelming in the United States. Many people are getting
across the border illegally so they can either find a better life for themselves or their children.
When these people immigrate it is normally due to the process of becoming a citizen taking too
long and causing them to become impatient or they re just not allowed at all. The United States has
a problem with illegal immigration and since this is a problem a couple solutions should be planned
and worked on.
Today in the United States there seems to be a problem with getting a visa for those who want
to migrate to the U.S. legally and easily. If it were to be made effortless to enter then less people
would risk their lives trying to enter illegally. The border is easy enough to bypass that it
encourages dangerous crossings for people who just want in for an easy life for themselves or
their children (Walker and Zuckerman 1). The simplicity of getting a visa and immigrating with
it should be improving over time like technology does all over the world. If the border were to
be improved it can prevent many crossings and force them to find legal ways on immigrating
into the country (Walker and Zuckerman 2). The easier it is to cross the border, the more that
will do attempt it for an easier life. This can be a problem on monitoring who is immigrating into
the U.S. and if they re peaceful beings or terrorists. If they are terrorists and they pass

Developments in Iraq After United States Involvement Essay
Ask anyone about the current issues in Iraq and you will hear a multitude of answers, questions,
remarks, backlash, and support for our countries involvement. Sure some things could have been
done better, some things could have been avoided completely, but when you talk to someone who
has personally witnessed 184 women setting themselves on fire in protest to the way men are
treating them you can t help but admire the change today. With the help of US and various foreign
countries, Iraqis rebuilding itself from the ground up, repairing itself from previous dictatorship.
There are three major concerns in Iraq, political freedom (including freedom of religion), women s
rights, and better education. These issues are far from being resolved,... Show more content on

In addition to encouraging women to take active political and social roles these communication
tools also inform women about activities of the OWFI centers and shelters. The women s
shelters protect women from violence and provide a critically needed safe haven from some of
the most heinous forms of gender based violence known as honour killings. The shelters also
provide strength and security to women on their path to building self esteem and empowerment.
Women who leave the shelters often stay in close communication with OWFI and its centers and
become volunteers and activists for women s rights. quot; The women of Iraq s courage and
resolve are hopeful examples to all who seek to restore Iraq s place among the world s greatest
civilizations, quot; Bush states in a July 9 message.
The World Bank recently issued their largest grant in 30 years to the Iraqi Ministry of Education.
This grant provides $40 million to print and distribute 72 million new textbooks for the 2004/2005
school year. There will be 600 titles available for the six million primary and secondary school
children across Iraq. This generous grant from the World Bank is one more example of the
international community pulling together to support a new Iraq. The U.S. Agency for International
Development feels that renewing Iraq s educational system is vital because Iraqi youth will
determine their country s future. All universities are open, 5.1 million Iraqi

The Challenges of the “Real” and Depth in Maus Essay
The Postmodernist movement begun after World War II in which, high and low culture are
questionable in the view of society and Art. The postmodernist movement in literature creates a new
set of ideals for fiction, such as the metafiction, the fable like representation in novels, the pastiche,
irony, and satire. Fredric Jameson speaks about the movement and its theory in his essay
Postmodernismand Consumer Society . He questions postmodernism in society as it creates the
new societal norm of popular culture. On the other hand, Jean Baudrillard analyzes the simulacra of
postmodernism in The Precession of Simulacra . Baudrillard speaks of the truth and reality also as
a questionable representation for the reader. Yet, both critics

The authoritative viewpoint symbolizes the reliable and the unreliable narrator, which shows the
difference between the truth and the false (1558) in a postmodernist fiction. With this said, the true
/reliable point of view in a postmodernist text is an immense fragmentation and privatization of
modern literature its explosion into a host of a distinct private styles and mannerism foreshadows
deeper and more general tendencies in social life as a whole (Jameson 1849). It is normal for a
postmodern text to have a hidden viewpoint as it creates the complexity of the narrative, and
portrays depth within the fiction. Art Spiegelman s Maus II: And Here My Troubles Began presents
itself as having an authoritative point of view on page 25, with the split panels depicting the
present and past. On the left side panel, we have the present illustrating Vladek and Art s
relationship and the retelling of Vladek s journey of survival in the Holocaust. However, on the
right side we have the depiction of the concentration camp through Vladek s accounts (Spiegelman
25). The break of the panels shows the present relationship of father and son contrast to the
loneliness of Vladek in the past during hard times. Erin McGlothlin expresses the importance of the
break of panel through the aspect of authoritative viewpoint as a ...visual...to signify the abrupt

  • 2. Essay On Biofeedback Technology Innovations in biofeedback technology provide the unique opportunity for dynamic and visual intervention of articulatory disorders, especially in cases where the target sound is hard to describe or see. One of the primary modes of this visual biofeedback is electropalatography (EPG), which provides information about tongue hard palate contact points through sensors integrated in a custom made artificial palate moulded to fit against a speaker s hard palate. EPG intervention has been previously investigated in its efficacy in remediating persistent misarticulations and found to have short term benefits for children and adolescents who are profoundly deaf or hard of hearing (Bacsfalvi, Bernhardt, and Gick, 2003; Bacsfalvi, Bernhardt, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Established long term benefit would be strong support in adopting EPG intervention into mainstream therapy methodology. In addition, there is the barrier of cost. Since, the intervention equipment itself is not easily obtained by speech pathologists, a strong evidence base with more large scale randomized studies is necessary to justify the cost of this intervention method. Currently, many of the studies examining this method of intervention are comprised of a small case series or a single case study due to the wide variation in articulatory errors assessed by this method of therapy. It is generally accepted that it is difficult to stereotype the articulatory patterns of deaf and hard of hearing individuals, due to the wide range of variability in segmental production between and within speakers of normal hearing (Vuckovich, M. 2006). For this reason, this intervention method has largely been evaluated via case series. However, adjusting targets to examine a more comprehensive battery of sounds would allow for a larger sample size and randomized design. It has yet to be investigated if individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing need continued practice with electropalatography technology in order to establish long term generalization of articulatory patterns. It would be crucial to determine production improvements of treatment targets, generalization targets, as well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Women s Movement Essay The Women s Movement The women s rights movement was a huge turning point for women because they had succeeded in the altering of their status as a group and changing their lives of countless men and women. Gender, Ideology, and Historical Change: Explaining the Women s Movement was a great chapter because it explained and analyzed the change and causes of the women s movement. Elaine Tyler May s essay, Cold War Ideology and the Rise of Feminismand Women s Liberation and Sixties Radicalism by Alice Echols both gave important but different opinions and ideas about the women s movement. Echols said, On September 7, 1968, the sixties came to that most apple pie of American institutions, the Miss America Pageant (Echols, 308). The reason she said this was because one hundred women s liberation activists descended upon Atlantic City to protest the pageant s promotion of physical attractiveness as the primary measure of women s worth. From there, the protestors set up a Freedom Trash Can and filled it with high heeled shoes, bras, girdles, hair curlers, false eyelashes, typing books, and representative copies of Cosmopolitan, Playboy, and Ladies Home Journal. They wanted to burn the contents but couldn t because of the laws for bonfires on the boardwalk. Also, word had been leaked to the press that there would be a symbolic bra burning. However, there were no bras burnt that day. But the image of the bra burning, militant feminists remains part of our popular mythology about the women s liberation movement. The Miss America demonstration represents an important moment in the history of the sixties as well as the women s movement (Echols, 309 310). Although the women s liberation movement only began to take shape toward the end of the decade, it was a quintessentially sixties movement. • 5. Our Founding Fathers Effect on the Past, Present, and... In the beginning, the nation s Founders were profoundly skeptical of direct democracy. They believed that the follies of direct democracy far outweighed any virtues it might possess (Politics in American pg. 76). According to an essay by Rose Wilder Lane (Lane, 1943), George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, James Madison, and James Monroe feared democracy. The founders believed that the Constitution left all other governmental powers to the states (Politics in American 2009 pg. 133). Our Founding Fathers never intended for America to become a democracy. Most of them had served in the American Revolution, either as soldiers in the Continental Army or as part of a legislative body. After the Revolutionary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, the new constitution was written to protect the people from a democracy. The Founding Fathers had learned from the past that a democracy was a form of lawless mob rule. They saw that the ancient Greeks tried a true democracy that had failed and led to chaos. A true democracy would not run efficiently or properly. The Founding Fathers saw our Government as a Republic (McManus 2001). They were realists who believed in limited government and low taxes. Their ideal was to build a unique structure of government to put into action their beliefs in nationalism, limited government, and separation of powers with check and balances, and judicial reviews. The Founding Fathers wanted to generate a strong government while ensuring that the government would not become a threat to liberty or property. It was also decided that the legislative branch should consist of two houses. So a new constitution was drawn up and once ratified, the process of organizing a new government began. On September 13, 1788, Congress determined that the city of New York should be the seat of the new government. The capital was moved Philadelphia in 1790 and to Washington D.C. in the year 1800 where it remains today (Lawler 2010). The process for the creation of the new government continued when George Washington was unanimously elected the first president, and John Adams of Massachusetts, the vice president. Adams ... • 6. The Battle Of The Civil War Essay Throughout the years 1861 to 1865 the American Civil War took place and it is known as Americas bloodiest war. The cause of the Civil war was the debate between free states and slave states over the government trying to prohibit slavery. In 1860 Abraham Lincoln became president of the United States and ran on the platform to keep slavery out of the new unclaimed territories of the United States. Once Lincoln became president seven southern states seceded from the Union ultimately creating the Confederate states of Americaaccording to Civilwar.org. The reason the Civil war was so gruesome was due to the advent of rifling within military training. Secondly the reason for such a bloody war was the invention of the Mene ball by General Henry Shrapnel. The mene ball was cone shaped with a hollow base. When the Mene ball would hit its target pieces of the metal ball would disperse in every direction not only hitting its target but those around it. At the end of the war there were 620,000 soldier deaths, 50,000 civilian deaths. There were roughly as many deaths in this one war than all other U.S. wars combined. The films Gods and Generals and Gettysburg will be compared and contrasted in order to show the differences between the two films and what exactly changed between each film. The film Gods and Generals takes place right when the Union troops are tasked to repel the rebellion. Robert E Lee was offered command of the Union army but he declined the offer. • 9. The Worldview And The Naturalistic Worldview If one believes in the naturalistic worldview, there will be no value or purpose to life. We will have no explanation for why we humans are here. In fact we will have no explanation for why any maternal thing is here. Humans and other material things would be on the same level. Humans would not be anymore more special then a rat, a flower, or stone. Also one would have no goal to reach. He would be basically floating along subject to chance. In naturalism, there is no one to set the standards for ethics. So where do their ethics come from? Some of the philosophers have set standards like when Epicurus said he was not talking about sensual pleasure when he said our highest good was to attain pleasure. The question is though, who are they to set these standards? They have as much to base their statements off of as the man done the road who says it is okay to attain sensual pleasures. So if something feels good to someone or makes them happy, what is to stop them from doing it. When we take a look at abortion, what could be wrong with it? It is only changing the course of some chance process. If it helps someone, what is to stop them from doing it? Naturalism has nothing that can prove it wrong. Now lets compare hunting for animals and murder of humans. What is the difference? There would be no difference, since one would not hold any special place over the other. This means that there is nothing wrong with killing a human. In fact, there would be nothing wrong with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Fortunato Short Story Analysis This story by Edgar Allan Poe is one of premeditated murder. Montresor tells the story of the night when he took his revenge on Fortunato, his friend. Montresor is upset about a long term insult between his family and Fortunato s because Montresor says: Thousand injuries that he has suffered at the hands of Fortunato . He plots to murder his friend during carnival, an event that is usually represented by joy. Montresor chooses the exact moment when the man is drunk and not in his correct mind. Montresor tricks Fortunato into the catacombs to try a wine and eventually seals Fortunato within the catacombs to die. The story s setting describes one closely related to horror, as Poe causes the readers to predict, to fear, and tremble in the opening. The atmosphere of horror increases much more as Montresor describes his adventure with Fortunato into the vaults. There are several examples of verbal irony within Montresor s words. Montresor says one thing that has more than one meaning. Early on, Montresor gives demanding orders to his attendants, not to leave the house, knowing that this will ensure that they would. More than once in the writing we can see Montresor calling Fortunato his friend, while taking him to death. Fortunato says that his cough will not kill him. A cough won t kill me , he says, and Montresor replies, True, true . This quote is probably the most memorable line of the story because he was sure that the cause of his death would not be his cough. Verbal irony along with dark humor seems to fill the whole story. It kind of baffles the reader to think one can be so blindsided into falling for some of the things Montresor has set up for Fortunato s fate. Many times verbal irony has more than one meaning which makes this story as great as it is. In Montresor s last words there is the last example of irony, it happened when Montresor realized that his friend had finally passed. He called Fortunato s name repeatedly, with no answer. Montresor threw his torch into the small hole and it fell into Fortunato s place of death. His last words to his friend were In pace requiescat, which means rest in peace. The irony can be interpreted in two ways, one is Montresor wishing his friend to rest in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

General Equality has been going on for years. Everything would make everything so much easier if it was Equal for both a men and a women. Where it s at home, at work, or even at school. Why does one gender have to be better than another? Achieving Gender equality in educationmeans that boys and girls will have equal opportunities to realize their full human rightsand contribute to and benefit from economic, social, cultural, and political development. Our generation can benefit so much. But it if they can benefit why is this only happening in 35 states instead of all over the world. The biggest Gender Equality problem has to do with education. A person s education shouldn t be determine because of their Gender. Both a man and a women can have the same passion for education for wanting to be someone and go somewhere in life. In Pakistan a women doesn t have the equal right to go to school and learn? This isn t just happening in Pakistan, it s passing in many other places. Now why does this affect a women more than it a man? And that s because in Pakistan a women doesn t have the same right in education as a man does. But why not do something about it. Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death (Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally, numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009). Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear. Kurtz represents complete savagery, lack of darkness and strength, all things that Marlow is trying to withstand and comprehend. By examining Kurtz soul, he must examine his own soul as well. Lastly, there is Kurtz intended vs the tribal woman. The women of Kurtz life are opposite yet alike in their beauty and love for Kurtz. The intended is the symbol of light all of the sad light of the cloudy evening took refuge on her forehead. This fair hair, this pale visage, this pure brow seemed surrounded by an ashy halo (Conrad 1902, 112). On the contrary, the tribal woman is the symbol of primitive darkness. Savage and superb; wild eyed and magnificent there was something ominous and stately in her deliberate progress (Conrad 1902, 157). It is supposed that the play was first performed between 1594 and 1595, and that it was first printed in 1597. This tragedy known as the death of Romeo and Juliet has been questioned to who is to blame. Let s rewind the clock back to where this all started, the feud between the Montague s and Capulet s. I believe Lord Capulet is to blame as he was one of the parents involved in this feud, and many of his character flaws contributed to the deaths, therefore he is to blame. Give me my long sword, ho! If the feud was not continued by Lord Capulet, Romeo and Juliet wouldn t have had to hide their love for one another nor keep their marriage a secret. Romeo wouldn t have been banished for killing Tybalt and most importantly, they wouldn t have died. In this scenario Lord Capulet should not have tried to pull out weapons to fight the Montague s as it is shown that the feud between the families can be linked back to him, as he is being confrontational and aggressive. For me, this ad exemplifies the more positive reaction to magic and mystery and reminds me of a time filled with wonder. However, I resent the idea of using a woman as a prop in this piece, as it only furthers the objectification of women that I have always disapproved of. The common motif of a young, attractive woman acting as a magician s assistant is used in this ad to entice viewers to buy this product, as it has been proven by many ads in the past that beautiful people can often sell themselves and their products much better than those who are not. Viewers of this piece who feel the same way about the unsavory use of women in the media may believe that the makers of Glassex products condone the treatment of women in this way after viewing this ad, discouraging them from purchasing their window cleaner under the pretense that they do not want to support businesses that capitalize on the objectification of women. It is also important to note that the male figure in the ad is not attractive himself, furthering the double standard that women are only used as sexual objects to sell products in advertisement and men can escape that objective. Homosexualityis intertwined with norm systems that concerns sexuality. Caravaggio has some significant traits in his early art work done in Rome such as sensualism and the extensive use of charm. The sensual charisma has been extensively explained in religious terms and given a simpler cultural context by Maurizio Calvesi. There have been many debates where Caravaggio was a homosexual or not, based on the paintings he had done that had young men and young boys with seductive trances on their faces. The few examples of this would be The Cardsharps, Boy bitten by a lizard, The Lute Player, Bacco, the Musicans, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St John the Baptist. Also, to contribute to the assumption that Caravaggio was a homosexual was the private paintings he has done which include a naked Pluto, Jupiter, and Neptune, in order to symbolize a perfect human in an inhumane world. A Brief Note On The Cisco Unified Computing System Essay 1.1.3 Case Study 3 [CFA (Country Fire Authority) Agile Responsive Technology] This Australian organization also deployed the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), VMware, and NetApp to scale Infrastructure in their data center. [10] In addition to this, Cisco Nexus 1000v series switch was added to provide visibility of virtual machines at the virtual access layer. This helped to improve the virtualization intelligence of the network. This platform helped to improve scalability, which was the primary necessity of the organization. [10] The Cisco UCS manager at the organization is mostly pleased because of the single pane where you can access the servers and therefore ease manageability. Virtualization now seems an inevitable move for organizations that want to remain at top notch. With its great benefits it is unavoidable. • 42. Illegal Immigration Problem Solution Immigration Problem Solution Essay Illegal immigration is becoming overwhelming in the United States. Many people are getting across the border illegally so they can either find a better life for themselves or their children. When these people immigrate it is normally due to the process of becoming a citizen taking too long and causing them to become impatient or they re just not allowed at all. The United States has a problem with illegal immigration and since this is a problem a couple solutions should be planned and worked on. Today in the United States there seems to be a problem with getting a visa for those who want to migrate to the U.S. legally and easily. If it were to be made effortless to enter then less people would risk their lives trying to enter illegally. The border is easy enough to bypass that it encourages dangerous crossings for people who just want in for an easy life for themselves or their children (Walker and Zuckerman 1). The simplicity of getting a visa and immigrating with it should be improving over time like technology does all over the world. If the border were to be improved it can prevent many crossings and force them to find legal ways on immigrating into the country (Walker and Zuckerman 2). The easier it is to cross the border, the more that will do attempt it for an easier life. This can be a problem on monitoring who is immigrating into the U.S. and if they re peaceful beings or terrorists. If they are terrorists and they pass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition to encouraging women to take active political and social roles these communication tools also inform women about activities of the OWFI centers and shelters. The women s shelters protect women from violence and provide a critically needed safe haven from some of the most heinous forms of gender based violence known as honour killings. The shelters also provide strength and security to women on their path to building self esteem and empowerment. Women who leave the shelters often stay in close communication with OWFI and its centers and become volunteers and activists for women s rights. quot; The women of Iraq s courage and resolve are hopeful examples to all who seek to restore Iraq s place among the world s greatest civilizations, quot; Bush states in a July 9 message. The authoritative viewpoint symbolizes the reliable and the unreliable narrator, which shows the difference between the truth and the false (1558) in a postmodernist fiction. With this said, the true /reliable point of view in a postmodernist text is an immense fragmentation and privatization of modern literature its explosion into a host of a distinct private styles and mannerism foreshadows deeper and more general tendencies in social life as a whole (Jameson 1849). It is normal for a postmodern text to have a hidden viewpoint as it creates the complexity of the narrative, and portrays depth within the fiction. Art Spiegelman s Maus II: And Here My Troubles Began presents itself as having an authoritative point of view on page 25, with the split panels depicting the present and past. On the left side panel, we have the present illustrating Vladek and Art s relationship and the retelling of Vladek s journey of survival in the Holocaust. However, on the right side we have the depiction of the concentration camp through Vladek s accounts (Spiegelman 25).
