Livestock farming, raising of animals for use or for pleasure. Livestock farming is the rearing of animals for food and for other human uses. The word 'Livestock' applies primarily to cattle or dairy cows, chickens, goats, pigs, horses and sheep. Today, even animals like donkeys, mules, rabbits and insects such as bees are being raised as part of livestock farming.
Present-day livestock farming is very well planned - animals are provided with food and shelter and bred selectively. As regards shelter, animals are usually kept in enclosures. Pigs and poultry are reared intensively in indoor environments. However, indoor animal farming has often been criticized for multiple reasons - on grounds of pollution and for animal welfare reasons. Outdoor farming of livestock stands for rearing animals in bigger enclosures like ranches and fenced pastures.

This document discusses copper deficiencies and excesses in sheep and goats. It notes that sheep are very susceptible to copper toxicity, while goats have higher copper requirements and tolerance. It then covers the importance of copper nutrition, how copper levels are affected in plants by soil properties, and how copper is absorbed and can be impacted by other minerals in animal diets. Requirements and tolerances for copper in sheep and goats are compared. Finally, it distinguishes between acute and chronic forms of copper toxicity.

This document discusses GIS tools and techniques for watershed analysis including DEM, fill sinks, flow direction, flow accumulation, conditional elevation, stream ordering, snapping pour points, watershed delineation, basin delineation, and calculating flow length. Key steps are opening a DEM, preprocessing the DEM with fill and flow tools, defining streams and pour points, delineating watersheds, and calculating attributes like flow length. The overall goal is to use GIS to analyze watersheds, drainage patterns, and water flow across landscapes.
Effects of Climate change on water resourcesNjorBenedict1
Climate change will impact water resources in several ways:
1) Precipitation patterns will change and become more variable, increasing in some areas and decreasing in others, affecting water availability.
2) Rising global temperatures will cause more evaporation and affect factors like snowpack and glacial melt, altering hydrologic cycles.
3) These changes will strain water supplies, increasing risks of flooding, drought, and conflicts over scarce resources while placing stress on ecosystems and human communities. Improved management is needed to enhance resilience to such vulnerabilities.
This document discusses geographic information systems (GIS) and their applications in public health. GIS allows users to capture, store, analyze and visualize spatial health data on maps. It has been used historically to identify relationships between location and disease. Today, GIS supports public health planning and management by helping to optimize resource allocation, target interventions, and monitor disease trends and the impact of interventions over time.

This document describes a training tutorial for using Flexsim software to model manufacturing processes. It includes instructions on modeling different resources like sources, queues, processors, and conveyors. It also provides an example modeling assignment involving parts with different types being routed to specific machines with some parts being defective and requiring longer processing times. The bottleneck in the example model is identified as machines 2 and 3 becoming saturated, causing an accumulation of parts in the associated stock areas.
This document summarizes the results of a training needs survey conducted with companies. It finds that the main competence needs are in automation, production systems, cost analysis, materials science, and digital skills. When asked how companies plan to fulfill these needs, common responses included recruiting those with technical degrees in engineering. Specifically, companies indicated they would need to recruit people with skills in areas like automation, AI, digitalization, software engineering, hydraulics, and electrical instruments over the next 5 years. The document proposes developing training modules to address these commonly identified needs.

This study analyzes trends in the automotive metal stamping components market between 2015-2025. Key trends include:
1) Vehicle production is shifting to Asia and South America due to economic and population growth.
2) Stricter emissions regulations are increasing pressure on OEMs to improve fuel efficiency and use lightweight materials like hot-stamped steel.
3) Vehicle weight has increased over time but OEMs are now focused on weight reduction using multi-material strategies incorporating various metals and plastics.
4) Hot stamping of steel is becoming more popular for body parts due to strength, mass reduction and cost advantages over other materials.
1. The document outlines concepts and techniques for decision theory, including decision making under certainty, risk, and uncertainty. It describes using expected value, decision trees, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate alternatives and make optimal decisions.
2. Key steps in decision making are identified as identifying alternatives and possible future states, estimating payoffs, and selecting the best alternative using decision criteria like expected monetary value.
3. Common errors in decision making include failures in properly defining the problem or alternatives, bounded rationality limiting rational analysis, and suboptimization where departments focus on their own goals.
This document provides an overview of life cycle assessment (LCA) and its role in supporting sustainable development. 5. How to create a
project proposal
Creating a project proposal can be done in five steps:
1. Define the project objectives and timeline
2. Identify resources needed to complete the project
3. Develop a budget for the project and estimate any
potential risks associated with it
4. Write down your proposed solution and provide
supporting documents or evidence that prove its
feasibility if necessary
5. Develop a communication plan to ensure key
stakeholders are kept informed of progress
throughout the entire process
7. The goal
Objectives
Goals inside a company are usually
specific and measurable, with clearly
defined deadlines and outcomes. The
company’s goals help focus the actions
of the organization and ensure
