The Movie The Demand For Self Reflexivity
The horror genre has tended to receive little critical success throughout its history. It is one of
the genres who relies on its audience to both decide how they re going to develop future texts
and mediums, as well as the subject that they will focus on. The fact that it has been around for
a long time makes the new developing genre of comedy/horror understandable, as a way to both
reflect on the generic tropes that have become second nature, as well as provide a new viewing
experience. The demand for self reflexivity can be seen in various social media and fan outcries
whereby audiences constantly belittle or ridicule their most beloved genre. They focus on the
classic elements of the genre, and how widespread they become throughout each movie, therefore
commenting on how those films made to be scary have become more comical than anything else.
Since the rise in these activities, Hollywood creators have taken the same approach as a way of
both paying homage and mocking the genre, in addition to creating relatability to the viewers and
their criticisms. Two films that emulate this are the 2009 Hollywood hit Zombieland and the
Swedish Cult FilmDead Snow. Through an analysis of these two, and their commentary on horror
filmthemes and characteristics, the idea of fandom interaction and interpretation will be seen as
having a strong influence of the genre. Moreover, it will illustrate how the new shift from the pure
generic manifestation of the genre has assisted in, not only

What I Had For Granted Essay
For a very long time, I took what I had for granted. I thought everything and everyone I loved in
my life would be in my possession for eternity, unknowing of how cruel the world can be. The
world is a mean and nasty place, and it will beat you down as long as you let it. Nothing is worse
than losing someone who you love and cherish more than anything in the world.
I ve lost everything. I had told myself the day my grandmother passed away. I was halfway
through with cutting the grass, just finishing up the side yard when I was called inside. I knew
that she was sick. I didn t know how bad. I was told her chances were minimal but I never listened.
I was stubborn.
I slowly walked towards the house, my heart was pounding like the beat of a drum, knowingly of
what was about to happen. I looked at my watch, 10:05 the time read. I opened the door as I
reluctantly entered my house. Tears started to fill my eyes as my family stares at me. My Aunt
handed me the telephone as I slowly put it into my grasp. I moved the phone up to my ear and
listened, but there was only silence.
Everything was silent until I whispered softly into the phone, Hello?
For a few moments it was still silent. Then I heard my father come back on the phone crying. He
slowly spoke, Thomas I... I m sorry your grandmother has passed away .
Everything went dark.
No. This can t be how is she gone? I Talked to her weeks before and she was just fine. But,
somehow she was gone just like

How And Ways Of Merging Finances
When part of a couple, there are several entertaining things you will do with your loved one. Going
on vacations, enjoying candlelit dinners and even going on shopping trips are all things couples
like to do together. Along with being fun, the one thing these activities have in common is that they
cost money.
Prior to marriage, or even before a couple starts to get serious, money may not be too much of a
concern. It is when people start to build a future together that the topic of money and possibly
merging finances will need to be discussed and sorted out. Merging finances may seem like a
brilliant idea, but prior to couples doing this, there a number of things they should consider, so they
have the best possible outcome instead of more stress.
1. Be honest about finances
The number one mistake that couples make when marrying or moving in together is not being
honest about their finances. Oftentimes, people may feel ashamed at the fact that they have a lot of
debt, especially from credit cards, student loans, medical bills and more. On top of that, they may
not be making very much money from their current job, and in combination with their debt, they
are concerned about appearing financially unstable. The average person has some sort of debt, so
there is really nothing to be embarrassed about. If you want your relationship to have the least
amount of financial stress possible, then you have to be honest and fill your significant other in on
what is going on with your

Great Gatsby Disillusionment Analysis
The Great Gatsby is a tale of of the rich and their fantastical fancies. This novel has become
representative of America s roaring twenties and Fitzgerald praised posthumously for his work.
However, Sven Birkets states that The Great Gatsby is a story of disillusionment and hope and I
must say that I agree with this assertion. By reading carefully and looking into the hidden messages
of The Great Gatsby, readers will begin to have a glimpse into the heads of the rich, seeing and
feeling their outlandish problems and pastimes. Jay Gatsbyis a prime example of these fevered
dreams and the Buchanans represent how deceiving these illusions can be at their point of
culmination. Gatsby spent all of his time after the war dreaming of Daisy and... Show more content

Although their relationship is strained there is still something between them that keeps them
together which Gatsby just can t see or understand. To him Daisy loved only him and no one
could compare, but somehow Tom did, he had taken the place that Gatsby left unattended during
the war. Tom appeared in Daisy s darkest hour, She wanted her life shaped now and the decision
must be made by some force... That force took shape in the middle of spring with the arrival of
Tom Buchanan. (151) Daisy grew up over in those short years that Gatsby was away, and with
her maturity came a change that would eventually pierce the wonderful world of Gatsby. The
Buchanan family was the result of this change, although the couple has quiet disputes, as all
marriages contain, they remained together and strong. Their bond remaining strong was when
Gatsby finally began to become disillusioned with his paradise, but he was determined and
hopeful to the bitter end. Throughout the novel, Gatsby is throwing parties and hoping Daisy
will wander in, he finally finds a link to her in Nick and hopes she will sit with him in front of a
fireplace one more time, and even when defeated by Tom, Gatsby remains ever faithful, watching
over Daisy all through the night. This fighting spirit is held back by Tom, who needs to feel like he
s ahead, after all he s been ahead all his life. By being a

The Radio During World War II
The radio is one of the most influential pieces of technology ever invented. From political
debates to Taylor Swift s latest hit, with the help of the radio, society stays informed on a
plethora of topics. Freddie Mercury wasn t lying when he said, and everything I had to know, I
learned it on my radio. In almost every country in the world, there is at least one radio station
used to broadcast news to it s people. Since the creation of the FM radio, it has been used to
reach out to people over a certain area and keep them informed about the society they live in.
During the 1930s and the 1940s, the radio played a very important role in history; it was a tool

In most households during the 1930s, this was one of the main living room items because of it s
size and importance (Feature Radio in the 1930s). The 1930s and 1940s are considered the
golden age of radio (Feature Radio in the 1930s). Nearly everyone in every household in
America, Germany, and Great Britain owned one to help them stay up to date on the events
happening around them. Though this time was considered the golden age of the radio, it was
not so golden for people around the world. Roosevelt, Churchill, and Hitler were all leaders of
powerful countries during one of the most difficult times in history. In 1929, the American stock
market crashed. This caused industries to collapse, banks to shut down, and millions of citizens
to lose their jobs across the US; conditions continued to worsen as more and more people became
homeless. In 1932, Franklin Roosevelt was elected as President of the United States and things
began to look up. Before he could get America completely out of the depression, however,
disaster struck again. World War II was a fight between the Ally and Axis powers. On the Allys
side was Great Britain, America, and France. On the Axis side was Germany, Italy, and Japan. In
1940, Hitler and his nazi army invaded Poland against the warnings of Great Britain, thus forcing
Britain to declare war and start World War II . America stayed neutral until 1941, when Japan

Examples Of Voyeurism In Pyscho
Mother oh god! Blood! Blood ! Norman had screamed in the film before he walked into Marion
s cabin to check on her , Marion was laying there dead. Norman started to clean up the cabin with
no emotions, he was very calm for somebody to just find out that a girl they really starting to fall
for has been murdered. It seems very strange; He started to clean up so good that he was trying to
hide this messy scene, and even showed us or gave us a clue that it was not his first time cleaning
up a messy scene like this. In the filmPyscho, Alfred Hitchcocks nightmarish disturbing themes,
Confused Identities, Voyeurism, and corruptibility are realistically revealed through repeated uses
of motifs such as birds, eyes, hands, and mirrors.
Clarification of Norman playing the role as his moms was very frightening. There was so much
confusion, You find out who is who by looking at the end of the movie. There was so much
foreshadowing; for example when Norman was moving his mother to the basement and she did
not want to hide? Why were her feet not kicking? Hitchcock did a very good job hiding her face on
that scene. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hospice Nurse Role
Hospice is a concept of care that is based on the belief that meaningful living is achievable during
a terminal illness that is free of interventions that prolong physiologic dying. The role of a hospice
nurse is to take on a holistic approach to patient care that involves a careful evaluation of not only
physical problems but also the psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of the patient and the patient s
family (Hinkle Cheever, 2014). The hospicenurse is culturally aware and sensitive in their approach
to communication that respects beliefs, attitudes, and values of the patient and family about end of
life care. The hospice nurse also provides support to families even after the death of the patient
(Nies McEwen, 2015).

Mrs. Keith practiced hospice nursing for over 10 years. Mrs. Keith became a hospice nurse
because her mother was dying and choosing to put her on hospice was the best decision she has
ever made. Although retired, Mrs. Keith still volunteers time to time to sit with patients. Mrs. Keith
stated,
You walk with families, with all the issues families may have; you walk with them, through their
fears and anger, through love, laughter, and tears. You see great healing and forgiveness at times. A
healing that traditional medicine may not understand. But it is the healing a medicine cannot
touch. It is the healing of love and compassion and presence. It is our presence, love, and
compassion, as patients and families journey, step by step, closer and closer to saying goodbye to
each other. (personal communication, April 26, 2018)

a hospice nurse. Although nurses outside of hospice deal with patients dying or having a life

Argumentative Essay On English Class
What I am about to do is inform you on how to survive the ferocious English 1302 course to
make life a bit easier on you. I mean, you re at the edge of your seat dying with loads of work,
starving like a dying child, living off of pennies and the only thing that is keeping you from
collapsing is your Starbucks drink that is filled with four shots of espresso, right? Well, by the time
you get to the end of this letter, you ll thank me later for it.
When you enter your English class, you will come across many assignments. They happen to be
your annotated bibliography and your researched argument essay, or in other words RAE. The
purpose of the bibliography is to critique sources and gather enough data for you essay. It includes
citations, a summary of your topic and personal thoughts of the sources you chose. The RAE is a
persuasive essay where you attempt to create an argument that is supported with the information
you gathered in your annotated bibliography. In my RAE, I argued that children can recuperate

I learned that by annotating a certain part of the reading, it helped increase my understanding. Not
only that but it helped me not miss a single bit of important information. Writing notes in the
margins of the text was really helpful because it was a summary of the entire paragraph and
whenever I would look back at my notes, it reminded me of what I read. Also, circling words I
didn t know was very accommodating because again, it helped me understand the concept a bit
more. Underlining words that seem important to you is a big tip I suggest because you are able to
use that information when you are talking about your source. You can expand that information by
linking it to another similar source. Therefore, it is important to annotate. It ll take up extra time
but it will be worth

Empathy In Tom Wright s Black Diggers
Theatre is not only presented as a piece of art, but as a tool of social reform to express the
feelings of humans and contemporary notions of society. Plays are designed to reflect
significant issues of a society, on which they were created. The play Black Diggers by Tom
Wright, uses certain devices and forms of symbolism to emphasise not only the historical
relations between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians, but to link ideas to contemporary
issues to provoke ideas of empathy. Wright creates a series of character encounters, to express
how an Indigenous racial identity is perceived by society and compare a period of discrimination
and infringement of rights to how it is expressed at war during World War 1. This provokes ideas
of repentance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon returning, Nigel went on the wireless (Wright 2015, Pg. 88) expressing his opinions
behind appalling brutality and savage butchery that took place in massacres against Aboriginal
people. Journalists responding to Nigel show difficulty in accepting his split identity as a proud
aboriginal Australian, and former soldier expressing that his opinions on his own community
have been disregarded although he had once been a respected soldier. Later, Nigel eventually
becomes a sad figure, walking against the flow of a busy city footpath, wearing a sandwich
board, which reads TARZAN THE APE MAN. He hands out flyers, but no one takes them,
(Wright 2015, Pg. 90) serving as a reminiscent reminder of his wasted potential, and he apologises,
Sorry Dad and takes swig from a bottle. Later, the play ends with Nigel in an asylum, as he talks to
a psychiatric nurse, he can see the big world... he doesn t want to join in he doesn t belong as he
feels disheartened with the way everything turned out in terms of being an ex serviceman. Nigel
s legacy is intended to convey how racial identity had affected social status, where Wright uses
Nigel s nostalgic outcome to provoke empathy and sentiment. In 1949, Harry had become a poor
derro , (Wright 2015, Pg. 86) who is begging for money, where he encounters Stan (a non
indigenous ex serviceman) dressed in a suit and all and acknowledges that his time in the war
were great days. This encounter is provided by Wright to juxtapose between the two comrades
who were once equals , and now Harry has become disadvantaged due to his racial identity. Ern and
Norm experience psychological and physical difficulties upon returning from the war, being
augmented by additional trauma of returning to a life filled with racial discrimination. These
character experiences are shown by Wright

Job Experience In High School Job
A significant educational opportunity that was offered to me during my High School career is a
job working at Warehouse Shoe Sale or WSS. My experience working there helped me to face
responsibility and enabled me to realize that I have excellent skills in following directions and
completing tasks. Prior to working, I didn t know if I was even going to be able finish high school,
let alone get a job. My job experience, however, made me think differently. Being able to witness
people at work, who were not as smart as I am, who were making more money than me, really
opened my eyes. I realized that if I put my mind to it, I could be successful and earn a lot of
money. The job experience influenced me to finish high school, as well as provided me the
inspiration to continue on and attend college. Attending a University will provide me with the
training I will need to eventually obtain my dream job. Additionally, I will have a degree and be
able to ensure a better and brighter future for myself and my family. Luck surely shined upon me
when I was offered this job experience in high school! Not only was I able to make a little money,
I learned so much more than just being efficient at a job.

The Revolution Of The 1960 S
The Young in the 1960 s
Many people believe the 1960s, were the golden age but, contrary, by the end of the decade, it
seemed like the The United States was falling apart. That could be one of the reason why
different groups were growing with new ideas, demands and of course many reforms. Student
activists became more and more radical. They protested over colleges, massive antiwar
demonstrations and occupied various public places to make their revolutionary ideas visible and
to be heard. In 1960s, the new radicalism took place. New groups of students became to gather,
such as the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) and Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)
two years later. Both groups were viewed as the leading edge of a new radicalism. These group
believed they had a new route to greater freedom. The students documented and summarized their
beliefs and what some called the New Left. They believed the participatory democracy was the real
social change. By the mid 1960s, facing growing opposition among the young to the war in
Vietnam, they were viewed as a rebellion force. They became more militant and active in social
issues and politics. Some demonstrations were violent and even people died. The young group
became a strong force in The United Stated and, also other countries. Also, changed their physical
appearance by growing their hair, used drugs and, practice free love. In the beginning of the 1960 s

quite disparate imagery compared to Mel Brooks 1974 classic, Blazing Saddles. The Westernmotif
is one that has been trivialized, heckled, idealized, subverted , and replicated exponentially
throughout not only American cinemas but motion pictures world wide. Blazing Saddles serves
as both a form of this subversion and a burlesque depiction of the genre itself. The film s complex
sense of humor prioritizes aspects that can only be completely relished based on the personal
experiences of the viewer a satirical comedy attempting (and succeeding) at ridiculing copious
aspects of an otherwise ideal Western society. Blazing Saddles serves as a mockery of the
traditional white westerner archetype, the Ku Klux, and all sorts of minority groups, while
simultaneously bringing awareness to the harsh treatment and racial prejudice against African
Americans. Brooks utilizes the parodying aspects and themes evident in Blazing Saddles as a
method to subvert principles of the Western genre.

Comparison Of Drowning Girl And Pablo Picasso s Guernica
From the very first week of joining Art 101 I knew that I wanted my final art project to be a trio

theme or subject matter of these paintings was a much more difficult decision. The lecture on
narratives had the most influence on the final idea because I felt it resonated with my art style
the greatest. I love using small details or minor symbols to tell a story and the examples of
narrative art were some of my earliest sources of inspiration including Roy Lichtenstein s
Drowning Girl and Pablo Picasso s Guernica. Learning the aspects of play was also a major
contributor to the final project idea. Play was both fun and had the ability to make... Show more

I originally started painting flowers simply because it was what my mother used, but throughout the
project, I found my own unique sources of inspiration. My mother explained to me that she used
certain flower types for their curves and painted the petals to have figure like appearances. During
the sketching and painting process, I figured out I really love how nature can appear so simple
and beautiful and simultaneously being extremely complex. I felt as though using a simple object
in nature would be an interesting connection to some of the people I know best in the world
because there is so much backstory behind the object, much like backstory behind my siblings. It
was especially fun figuring out the flower meaning and choosing the best one for each sibling. I
used a blue iris for my brother because a blue iris represents wisdom, admiration, and inspiration
and I have always been competing against my brother while admiring his differences. My sister

The Religion Of Donald Trump
With 673 delegates as of March 18th 2016, Donald Trump stands as the only Republican
presidential candidate capable of amassing the 1,237 delegates necessary to secure the nomination
at the Republican convention in July. In short, the rise of Trump has sent the Republican
establishment into disorder and challenged traditional views in political science. Given his lack of
experience and slanderish rhetoric, how has Trump maintained the attention and vote of the
Republican electorate? To answer this question, I will not depend on concepts such as voter turnout
and demographic blocs often used by political scientists. Instead, I will explore the religionof
Donald Trump. For this ambitious task, I will employ philosopher William James and his The
Varieties of Religious Experience to illuminate the personal side of religious politics, alongside
with sociologist Emile Durkheim and his The Elementary Forms of Religious Life to unpack the
communal side. Given that individual voters constitute the electorate in American politics, Donald
Trump must derive support from disposed and amenable persons. However, before exploring this
idea, I must introduce William James conception of religion to find these disposed and amenable
persons. In Varieties, James defines religion as, the feelings, acts, and experiences of individual
men in their solitude, so far as they apprehend themselves to stand in relation to whatever they may
consider divine (James, 32). In other words, religion is

molecules, Sn1 and Sn2.
A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate
determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the
final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2
reaction has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur
before the final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously).
The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1
and Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and
Sn2 reactions.
While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3
Phenyl 1 propanol has a melting point of 18В°C. It also has a boiling point of 119В°C. The
density of the alcohol us 1.001 g/mL. In reaction 2, the boiling point of 2 pentanol is 119В°C. The

Undocumented Immigrants Be Deported Essay
Immigration has been a hot topic for not only President s Trump first 100 days in office, but also
became a hot topic during the presidential campaign leading up to the election. There are a
multitude of different debates that fall under the immigration category, but an issue that should be
discussed in the national discourse by engaging citizens is the legalization and granting of
citizenship to undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Even though it is heavily
debated, undocumented immigrants should be granted the legal right to become U.S. citizens. A
poll done by CNN in March states that 71% of people believe that the government should not
attempt to deport all people current living in the country illegally (Kopan, 1) compared to only 27%
that believe illegal immigrants should be deported by the same poll. This is key in the discussion
being debated that undocumented immigrants should be legal citizens of the United States. There
are a significant amount of undocumented immigrants who currently reside in the United States
today. According to the Pew Research... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undocumented immigrants have created lives here and become part of communities, and it is not
right to take that away from them. Not only is it not inhumane, but also it would hurt the economy
as well since granting citizenship to undocumented workers causing the economy to grow, not stunt
its growth. Even though many believe that undocumented immigrants becoming citizens will harm
citizen s jobs, this is also proven to be false because immigrants create jobs and fill the gaps of the
jobs not done by natural born citizens. Undocumented immigrants also are proven to not commit as
many crimes as the American counterpart, unlike many opponents views. By legalizing and
allowing the citizenship of over 11 million people, our country can grow, not only financially in our
economy, but grow as a

The Causes Of Teen Pregnancy

Teen Pregnancy
Teen pregnancy is not a subject to take lightly. Being in high school, students are held to high
standards. They are in fact young adults who are trying to build their success to go onto the next
step in life, but just one mistake can ruin everything. Having unprotected sex is the leading cause to
teenagers getting pregnant. Oral contraceptives are recommended if girls are sexually active, but
being on birth control does not give them one hundred percent accuracy of not becoming pregnant.
A problem to teen pregnancies can be unprotected sex, as said in the first paragraph, that is the
number one cause to getting pregnant. When girls and boys become teenagers, their bodies start
to develop all of these hormones, and that is when people start taking the route of having sex.
Having sex can be a huge roller coaster, because not only are they giving themselves away to their
partner, they are putting their own life at risk. Almost 1,700 teen girls get pregnant every single day
(Teen Vogue). That is seventy girls every hour.
Not only can becoming pregnant be hard for the mother, but for the child too. The normal signs
that the teen may be pregnant can be that she misses her period or that she gets morning sickness.
Mothers may experience high blood pressure (hypertension), and they have a higher risk of
preeclampsia. This is a dangerous medical condition that combines high blood pressure

The Monster Of Living With Grief

The Monster of Living with Grief
As Keanu Reeves once said, Grief changes shapes, but it never ends ( Tragic ). When it comes to
grief there are usually five shapes or stages that people go through: denial, anger, bargaining,
depression and, finally, acceptance. The book A Monster Calls, by Patrick Ness, is about a young
boy who is struggling with school, bullies, friends, and family when his mother develops a
terminal illness. He is visited by the monster, a massive yew tree, who comes alive to teach
Conor the ways of the world. He also teaches Conor the truth in order to move past his mother s
sickness. Ness shows how people in both literature and real life tend to go through five stages of
grief while dealing with a loved one who has a terminal illness because of the overwhelming
lamentation it inflicts.
The first stage of grief is as the sharks say in Finding Nemo, DENIAL. In the book, Conor s
grandma told him that his mother s condition would not get better with one of the new treatments.
He denied it by saying, The treatments are making her better... (42). Even though the treatments
had not worked, Conor refused to believe that the treatments will not work because he needs his
mother to get better. The American Psychological Association says that most people deny the
problem because it is easier to distance oneself from friends or family. Once a person isolates from
those who can help, it can lead to

Conflict Theory And Social Reform
Abstract Chapter 4, Value Conflict, discusses how American sociologists in the early stages of
Sociology briefly overlooked the conflict perspective because social reform was more popular.
Then the conflict theory became more significant when a link was found in conflict theory and
social reform. Conflict Theorists and the formulation of the value of Conflict Perspective The
conflict perspective is a combination of European and American Sociologist theories of conflict that
was first inspired by Karl Marx. Marx saw how industrialization, early in European society, caused
the conflict theory between classes. Rubington and Weinberg state that Georg Simmel made the

But this dream was not often realized and gained which caused conflict and social problems
because many would result in crimes and violence. The framework for value conflict was
created by Richard C. Fuller and Richard Meyers. They two stated in publications, that all of
social problems with values have a conflict because everyone s values are not the same. This
creates a conflict of interests and there are (3) three stages of the mix of the two: 1.Awareness
2.Policy Determination 3.Reform Fuller and Myers wrote their papers during the Great
Depression and World War II, both equally rough times in American history which created
conflicts at home and abroad for people in general. The conflict theory opposed the notion of
disorganization because what is wrong with individuals expressing how they feel about a subject
that a different group agrees with. Just because two groups have different opinions is not
disorganization in the view of the conflict theorists. This caused critics to suggest that competing
sociologists were not following the guidelines to be value free. This led to the formulation of value
conflict perspective to include the notion that sociologists should concern themselves with society
rather than scientific appearances. Characteristics of the value of Conflict Perspective The
characteristics of the Value Conflict as a perspective are even more clearly laid out than social

The Revelation Of The New Testament
This sanctified Divine Encounter establishes a connection within a realm of total purity and grace.
Noticeably, Philip mentions again that one s Divine partnership resides beyond one s earthly
fleshly one; impressing that one s spiritual, sexual essences with the Divine occur as one s true
ultimate prize in life and afterwards into eternity as the New Testament states in Revelation 21:1 3.
Even through, the direct expression of bridal chamber is none existent in the Bible; however, the
reference of bride and/or bridegroom does exist in several books such as Isa 62:5, Matt 24:1 13,
John 3:29 and Rev 21:1 2. Having these terms discussed there, conceivably gives credit to the
realism of this state of being; in fact, within the New Testament the word bridegroom (referencing
the Divine) is mentioned around seventeen times. In addition, the Apostle Paul, in Rom 7:4,
proclaims this divine marriage. The appearance of this bonding terminology (bride, bridegroom,
and bridal chamber) involving scared consecration; clearly indicates a divine union to permanently
occur. One specify parable of Jesus, strangely likens the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins waiting
for their marriage to take place with one bridegroom; in due course, the marriage indeed takes
place with only five of the virgins invited in, Matt 25:1 13. With that said, the circumstance of
apparent polygamy occurring is evident; however, this proves to be improbable due to Jesus
teachings regarding marriage to one

The Leadership Styles On Display
In the workplace, there are many leadership styles on display but how do I handle working with
a manager whom I feel I cannot trust. On the other hand how do I respond differently to a
manager whom I believe is trustworthy? And, last we will discuss which do I prefer and why.
When working with a boss whom I do not trust, I tend hold back on giving them my real
opinions. I usually keep my commits, concerning day to day activities to myself. I m not sure if
they will turn my commits or opinions around and try to use it against me in an evaluation. I
also feel when your manager is not worthy of your trust, it creates a somewhat hostile working
environment because you are always looking over my shoulder to see what they are observing.
Another issue is not being able to go to them for guidance. I just close the communication line
and work on my own program, which makes my task even harder to accomplish. And I become
less creative due to the fact I don t trust my boss will be open to change. Negative emotions, like
decreased work performance, are created when there lack confidence in leaders of an
organization. Some negative emotions foster anger, depression, sadness, worry, tense, regret, and
jealousy (Zineldin M., 2012). If I m working for someone who I know doesn t have my best
interest in mind, it makes me very uncomfortable, causing me to be less productive. I will only do
the bare minimum required. It s hard to invest in someone who can t be trusted, there is an uneasy

Stereotyping And Ethnocentrism
Stereotyping and ethnocentrism shares similar themes, but are separated from an enormous
distinction that which can lead from a tasteless joke to genocide. Stereotyping is simply an overall
widespread generalization. They are formed from second hand information from close community
member that use outdated information or are not an expert with that particular culture/community.
Stereotypes are usually formed in situations when a person would suffer from information overload
and in some cases, can accurately capture cultures or even celebrated within them (Neuliep, 2017,

Ethnocentrism takes this idea one step further. It is when one will view a particular people through

They are rarely casted as lead roles and are usually support characters to the lead actor. Male actors
are always portrayed as the nerdy side kick, doctors, or assistants. Their roles are weak and
desexualized, as demonstrated by Wai Choy character in mean girls. If they are able to get a
masculine role, they are either a Kung Fu warrior or an evil villain that is hell bent on destroying
western civilization. Women actors on the other hand are over sexualized; as they most
commonly portrayed as sex workers. If they are able to steer clear of a role as a prostitute, they
play roles of quiet, submissive, and feeble characters (Levin, 2017). The film Full Metal Jacket
prominently showcases this stereotype as a Vietnamese sex worker says, me love you long time to
a man in the United States military is a famous example of this exploration (Nittle). This is
creating a great impact because our society as a whole looks at the people within the entertainment
industry and the content it produces as examples of how we want to be. This creates a box for the
youth of Asian cultures whether in the U.S. or elsewhere if that is their only example.
Vietnamese/Asian Culture in the American News Even in 2017, our country is still plagued with
tasteless stereotyping that even makes its way onto our news. An example of this was by Fox
News on the O Reilly Factor hosted by Jesse Watters. Watters did a street interview segment on the

Transport Disadvantage And The Regional Transport Essay
Introduction It is widely acknowledged that Northern Ireland has suffered from decades of
underinvestment in its roads and public transport (RTS, Department for Regional Development
2002). Northern Irelands public transport networks are lacking in many areas of the country. To
address key issues surrounding a lack of adequate transport provision, and to combat the growing
problems of car dependence and transport disadvantage, the Northern Ireland Assembly
commissioned the Regional Development Strategy and the Regional Transport Strategy. This
essay will discuss the nature of transport disadvantage, identify the groups affected by transport
disadvantage, and evaluate and discuss the policies proposed by the Regional Transport
Strategy, and how they will attempt to remedy the problems faced by these disadvantaged
groups. What is Transport Disadvantage? Transport disadvantaged groups can be identified as
individuals and families in the society that cannot easily travel to the opportunities they would
like to use. (Warren, Paula 2011). Transport disadvantage can be more easily defined as the
difficulty in accessing transport through a result of cost, location, disability or age. Transport
disadvantage in Northern Ireland has been exacerbated by an increase in car dependency rates
and less investment in local transport services for socially disadvantaged groups. The number of
journeys mad by car in Northern Ireland accounted for 72% of all journeys made in 2012 2014, an

I agree that People gamble because it is fun . According to Panos Markopoulos, Wijnand IJsselsteijn,
Duncan Rowland (2008) that fun is enjoyment, amusement, or light hearted pleasure things that
make people feel happy to do it. Related to gambling, fun means the feeling of excitement,
emotional ups and downs, make the people have an impassioned feeling to addict the game.
Van Hoff, H, Vallen G, McDonald M amp; Weiner (2007) indicated that there are three major
reasons people gamble for fun such as entertainment, social activity and exhilaration.
Entertainment is an activity that helps people achieves a distraction from the boredom and the
difficulties of daily life. (William Norman Thompson, 2001) Gambling offer a sources of
entertainment because gambling give an excitement when the players join in the new games.
Beside the entertainment, gambling can be defined as a social activity such as a great way to
relax from stressful life, sadness or depression, to feel more powerful, to be in control of social

Nigeria might be rich in resources; its population lives in poverty. With a Multidimensional
Poverty Index (MPI) of .31, it was ranked number 157 out of the 186 United Nations (UN)
member states in 2012. Also, according to the World Bank, the poverty headcount ratio was 68%,

The Niger Delta is one of the nine states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It counts about 20
million people and around 70 000 kmВІ of land. The region is one of the most prominent wetlands
in the world. Oil has produced about $600 billion since the 1960 s.
Despite its wealth in resources, the majority of the people live under poor conditions. To counter
this poverty, the Nigerian government has set up several commissions in the past. The most
prominent are the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC) and the
Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The OMPADEC was established in 1993 and focused on the development of the Niger Delta
Region (NDR). It however failed due to factors as corruption, mismanagement and non sufficient
funding. Hereafter, the NDDC was to replace the OMPADEC. It would create socio economic

years for acts of sabotage against the South African state, and shortly after his release from prison

Throughout his battle against apartheid and helping to bring democracy to South Africa, Mandela
adopted a democratic leadership style (Johnson). And according to Johnson Democratic leaders set
policies through group discussion and decision, encouraging and helping group members to
interact, requesting the cooperation of others and this was exactly what Mandela did (Johnson).
Mandela s other key value that supported his leadership and democratic style was his strong
disapproval for injustice. Mandela never tolerated injustice; he believed that justice was the only
path to success. For instance, when Mandela got to Robin Island where he was to be imprisoned,
he was told to jog to the prison gate. He firmly refused and started a hunger strike with other
inmates to condemn the condition they were living in. This worked out in their favor and the
conditions improved (Hume). This example highlights Mandela s value for denouncing injustice
and oppression. Nonetheless, Mandela believed Consensus to be the superior decision making
process to build commitment and motivation in group members toward group objectives. Using
Consensus meant that justice would be served at its best when making a decision and Mandela
fully supported this process (Johnson).
Ultimately, Nelson Mandela is viewed as a revolutionary leader for his ability to empower and
motivate others using his strong regard for consensus and the

or may be due to the employer s wishes to dismiss the employee, but the employer may be
offering a softened firing. In a high profile position the employee may want to leave before the
press is learned more negative information about one s controversial nature. Differences between
voluntary and forced resignations Agency One of the main differences between voluntary and
forced resignation is who gives the resignation of employment. Both voluntary and forced
resignation signify that the employment will end, but when someone is forced to resign it means
that the employer has decided to sever the employment. The employer can sever employment for
any reason, so long as it is not based on issues of race, religion or the sex of the employee. The
employee can be cut for numerous reasons such as a new employment opportunity or ongoing
investigations of the employee. Together with Rajaratnam, Gupta was removed from his position of

The Chuckwallas and Evolutionary Research
Ever since Charles Darwin s first publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859, island habitats
have been used by a number of scientists as the most efficient laboratories to observe the natural
process of evolution taking place in modern day organisms. Several kilometers northeast of the
Galapagos Islands, where Darwin famously performed his research, is a small group of islands in
the Sea of CortГ©s, also known as the Gulf of California, between the Baja California peninsula
and Mexico (see Figure 1 on page 18). Here many evolutionary biologists of the 20th and 21st
century performed research on the insular organisms inhabiting these island habitats. One group of
lizards in particular known by the common name chuckwallas has gained a lot of focus in
evolutionary research.
Chuckwallas is the name of organisms in the Sauromalus genus apart of the Iguanidae family. They
are herbivorous lizards commonly found in the deserts of southwestern United States and
Northern Mexico. Three species, in particular, are found on the islands off the cost of the
mainland within the Sea of CortГ©s: Sauromalus obesus (= ater), Sauromalus varius, and
Sauromalus hispidus (see Figure 2 on page 20). S. obesus is a common species found on the
mainland as well as few islands, while S. varius are S. hispidus are endemic to specific islands in
the Sea of CortГ©s: mainly San Esteban Island and Angel de la Guarda Island, respectively. Both of
these insular species also show signs of gigantism

The Verichip and Its Use Essay
The Verichip and Its Use
This piece of technology was manufactured and is being marketed by the VeriChip Corporation.
The VeriChip is a microprocessor used for verification and identification. A VeriChip can also be
referred to as a radiofrequency identification tag, abbreviated as RFID. The VeriChip is used by
doctors and is implanted under the human skin behind the triceps of the right arm, between the
elbow and shoulder with the use of a syringe and when done the device can be used to identify the
person s medical history, credit card number, security clearance and even club membership status.
The chip is no bigger than 12 mm long and 21 mm in diameter. The insertion of the VeriChip takes
approximately 20 seconds and this procedure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mobile industrial assets, in other words items that are tagged like the tools and equipment and
other parts can be found when needed, they can be tracked for maintenance and protected from
theft, and loss which then insures maximum utilization. The VeriChip that is implanted into the
body is considered to be a passive RFID tag because it doesn t use or contain batteries and due to
that the VeriChip remains inactive until a proprietary scanner activates it. Passive RFID tags,
like the VeriChip, boast a number of unique, significant features. Passive RFID tags have longer
lifetimes than active RFID tags (with onboard batteries) and the, the estimated lifetime of a
VeriChip is over 20 years. The passive RFID tags can only broadcast low frequency radio waves
because of their minimal power. In the VeriChip s case, it broadcasts on the low frequency (LF)
band between 125 and 134.2 KHz (Fox, 2004). Given the VeriChip s low power, the tag

Compare And Contrast Mitosis And Meiosis
Comparing Mitosis and Meiosis
Inside the human body, there are two different cells who help the reproductive system. Those are
Mitosis and meiosis which are similar and different than one another.
There are many ways that mitosis and meiosis are similar such as them having always having a
Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase,Telophase (PMAT). In addition, both of them have their own
interphase at the start of the PMAT. Also, since they have a PMAT then they will always create
cells during it which would mean that PMAT will always repeat. Without Mitosisand Meiosis, the
human population would already be extinct. Even though they have their similarities they also have
their own differents. Everything is different in their own way. Mitosis and

The Principles of Communication
Communication is an ever developing topic in which human beings can express their feelings and
emotions on a daily basis whether they were positive or negative in the most suitable way.
According to Preja (2013) the term Communication can be traced back to the Latin word Communis
which stands for to be connected to or to be in a relationship with . Communicationcan be classified
to two types, verbal and non verbal. Verbal communication focuses mainly on vocals while non
verbal communication is innate and takes into account the speechless signals people do, not say,
when interacting with each other. It takes several forms, such as voice characteristics, body
language, chromatics and chronemics. In this report, the importance of non verbal communication
concept will be discussed as well as an explanation and examples of each of these types. Non
Verbal refers to a communication use no words but use haptics, proxemics ,kinesics and chromatics
rather than words spoken or written , it can give people s real feeling. However, non verbal
communication is a use of body language and paralanguagesuch as tone, laughter and facial
expression. Acccording to Leemann, kolly Dellwo (2014) Supra segmental voice characteristics
show that individuals can be recognised by hearing their voices even if they are not familiar, Such
observations reveal that speakers carry individual features in their voices ,the fact that human voices
demonstrate their individuality can be used for

Macbeth Tragic Hero
In Shakespeare s play Macbeth, the main character goes from being a virtuous war hero at the
beginning of the story to a malevolent tyrant towards the end. This defines Macbeth as a tragic
hero throughout the play. A tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment error that
inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. Not only does he fit the definition of a tragic hero, but
he also exhibits many important characteristics that shape this description. These characteristics
include being an individual of high noble birth and incorporating many admirable heroic qualities.
Further, tragic heroes are doomed to make a serious error in judgement and are responsible for
their own fate. As well as this, they have a tragic flaw, leading them... Show more content on

In response to the first murderer telling Macbeth that Fleance had escaped the murder, Macbeth
states, The young snake that escaped will in time become poisonous and threatening (3.4.32 33).
This shows how Macbeth realized how he made an irreversible mistake as he knew that the
witches predicted Banquo s sons to eventually become king. Therefore, Fleance could be a threat
to his throne. Before this occurred, Macbeth also says, Then comes my fit again. I had else been
perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air. But
now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in To saucy doubts and fears (3.4.23 27). This event
proves how Macbeth is worried about his throne as confidence in safety and innocence collapses.
Now that Fleance has escaped as well, Macbeth is put up with the greater threat of trying to find
him again later on in order kill him. This allows Fleance to stay safe for a while, and become a
larger threat to Macbeth as he is becoming more prepared and older for the throne if something
were to happen to Macbeth. After he realizes that he had made an irreversible mistake, Macbeth
then accepts responsibility for his own fate. Upon seeing the ghost of Banquo at his banquet,
Macbeth says, You can t say I did it. Don t shake your bloody head at me (3.4.59 60). This
highlights how Macbeth is unconsciously facing and accepting the responsibility for his own fate.
Since Macbeth saw a ghost of his best friend that he killed, this shows how guilt is definitely on
his mind, and how he must be ashamed of his actions. If Macbeth honestly didn t face and accept
responsibility for his own fate, he would have disregarded the ghost altogether and probably would
have went with the assumption of having too much wine when he first came in contact with the
ghost. Towards the end of the play, Macbeth decides to leave his castle and

Wolf Among Us Character Analysis
What separates a good story from a great one, are the characters themselves. A bland one
dimensional character will always hinder what could have otherwise been a great story. When it
comes to video games that s not necessarily a bad thing. After all, not all gaming experiences rely
on the plot, let alone characterization. However, when it comes to story heavy games like Assassin
s Creed and The Witcher, characterization is key. Sadly, the gaming industry has been criticized for
lacking complex characterization, especially when it comes to female characters. While this
complaint is valid, and it cannot be denied that there is a surplus of overly sexualized one
dimensional female characters in gaming, the industry has begun moving away from... Show more

many others. However, I have to say the top two honorable mentions are Clementine from The
Walking Dead and Ellie from The Last of Us. It s great news that the industry has so many
complex female characters. Although, there are still plenty of negative stereotypes out there the
industry seems to be trending in a more inclusive direction, which is great news for anyone who

Terrorism In Kenya Essay
Terrorism in Kenya
Introduction
Kenya has been the battlefield of tragic terrorist attacks on western interests twice since 1998
once in 1998 when the US embassy was attacked and a second time in 2002 when a Israeli owned
Paradise hotel was bombed. In 1980, Jewish owned Norfolk hotel was attacked by the PLO. Every
single attack shared a common thread of irony: the majority of the lives lost were Kenyan, even
though the ideology behind the attacks suggests that Kenyan and Kenyans were not involved in the
political dynamic that precipitated the attacks.
The paper seeks to understand the political, social and cultural variables that have thrown Kenya
into the geo political limelight insofar as the so called War on Terrorism is... Show more content on

In 1980 terrorists linked to the Palestinian Liberation Organization attacked the Jewish owned
Norfolk hotel in Nairobi killing 15 people, most of them Kenyans.
In 1998, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya and the one in neighboring Tanzania were bombed.
According to official Kenyan government figures, 213 people were killed in the blast that gutted
the U.S. Embassy building in downtown Nairobi. That included 12 American workers and 34 of
their Kenyan colleagues, called foreign service nationals [FSNs]. More than 4,000 Kenyans were
also injured in the explosion.
In 2002, three suicide bombers attacked an Israeli owned hotel, killing 11 Kenyans, 3 Israelis and
wounding dozens. Almost simultaneously, at least two missiles were fired at but missed an Israeli
airliner taking off from Mombasa airport. A previously unknown militant group calling itself The
Government of Universal Palestine in Exile, The Army of Palestine, issued a statement in Lebanon
claiming responsibility saying the operations were timed to mark the eve of the anniversary of the
Nov. 29, 1947, decision by the United Nations to partition Palestine and allow creation of a Jewish
state.[2]
More recently, in May 2003, warnings of possible imminent attacks in Kenya were issued on by
officials in Washington, London and Berlin. Britain ordered British airlines to halt flights to Kenya

How Entertainment Ruining Society
The potential of entertainment to affect society is great and some would argue that it has the
capacity to ruin society such as Neal Gabler a critic of entertainment who in his book Life the
Movie: How Entertainment Conquered Reality that entertainment has the capacity to ruin society.
If we look at both more recent iterations of entertainmentor even if we look at some forms of
classic literature we can clearly see the harmful ways that entertainment can affect people. One
example of this is the recent controversy with the nfl, sports are suppose to unite the country but
lately we have been seeing otherwise. Certain players in the nfl have decided not to stand for the
national anthem and essentially split the country in two the people who support them and the
people who don t. It even got so serious that the president decided to respond and kept hammering
home the point that we need to stand for their national anthem in order to respect the fallen soldiers
who gave their lives for their country. This is a perfect example of how entertainment can ruin
society first it starts with something small like the decision of a professional athlete then it
escalates into a national issue and eventually the country is completely split into two and it
dissolves the ties of our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Life In Algeria Essay
Algeria, the largest country in Africa, is home to 39 million people. The native language is
Arabic and the common currency is dinar. From 2010 to 2015 the GDP (Gross Domestic Product)
has increased from $4,349.00 to $5,836.00, with a population density of 16 inhabitants per square
kilometer. Algeria s GDP is among the highest of Africa s countries, compared to Egypt whose
GDP is $3314.00 per capita. From an economics standpoint, Algeria operates almost identical to the
United States having there republic government led by President Abdelmalek Sellal.
Algeria s history of producing gas isn t extremely long, but it is very productive and beneficial
for its economy and the economy of Africa, as well as Europe. Covering an area of around 2,382
thousand square kilometers, the Republic of Algeria is, territorially, OPEC s largest Member
Country and the largest country in Africa. It is situated in the north of the continent, and shares
borders with Morocco, the Western Sahara, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya and Tunisia. To the
north is the Mediterranean Sea. Algeria was colonized by France as far back as 1830 under the
reign of Charles X. Algeria gained political independence in 1962, just four years after it began to
produce natural gas. Their colonial struggle lasted eight years and cost the lives of one million
Algerians, out of a population of nine million Arabs and Berbers. (A berber is a group of people in
Algeria that are settled farmers or migrant workers.)

Isopropanol Research Paper
Many people assume alcohol is nothing more than liquor or rubbing alcohol; however, this is not
the case. There are many different types of alcohol including some of the alternate fuels we put
into our vehicles. Over the course of my working life I have come into contact with many different
alcohols, but Isopropyl Alcohol, or 2 propanol, was one of the ones that I encountered the most and
I have always wondered exactly what it is. 2 propanol is a very interesting molecule and has a lot of
uses for products in many different markets. Because of this, many people come into contact with it
and do not even know it. There are many important advances going on with the development of
isopropanol that could potentially change our lives. Although, it is important to know and
understand the products that you are coming into contact with because some of them might be...

Typically isopropanol is found in its liquid form because it is not easy to freeze with a freezing
point of 88.3В°C. Not only does 2 propanol have a low freezing point, but it also ignites easily
with a flash point, the temperature in which a liquid can ignite in air, of 12В° C, but it also
denser than air when vaporized (ILPI). So, if there was a fire and some became vaporized, it
could potentially cause a large explosion. Another interesting thing about isopropanol is how it is
soluble in many different liquids such as alcohol, water, ether, chloroform, benzene, and most
organic solvents. This means that you can create many different substances out of propanol that
could potentially be used in places that you would not expect. Such as a chemical we use at my
work that we call blanket wash (mixture of 2 propanol and petroleum) and it is used to clean
excess ink off of a printing press and it is used because the ink is a different type than others and
harder to remove than the ink on other types of

  • 3. The Movie The Demand For Self Reflexivity The horror genre has tended to receive little critical success throughout its history. It is one of the genres who relies on its audience to both decide how they re going to develop future texts and mediums, as well as the subject that they will focus on. The fact that it has been around for a long time makes the new developing genre of comedy/horror understandable, as a way to both reflect on the generic tropes that have become second nature, as well as provide a new viewing experience. The demand for self reflexivity can be seen in various social media and fan outcries whereby audiences constantly belittle or ridicule their most beloved genre. They focus on the classic elements of the genre, and how widespread they become throughout each movie, therefore commenting on how those films made to be scary have become more comical than anything else. Since the rise in these activities, Hollywood creators have taken the same approach as a way of both paying homage and mocking the genre, in addition to creating relatability to the viewers and their criticisms. Two films that emulate this are the 2009 Hollywood hit Zombieland and the Swedish Cult FilmDead Snow. Through an analysis of these two, and their commentary on horror filmthemes and characteristics, the idea of fandom interaction and interpretation will be seen as having a strong influence of the genre. Moreover, it will illustrate how the new shift from the pure generic manifestation of the genre has assisted in, not only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What I Had For Granted Essay For a very long time, I took what I had for granted. I thought everything and everyone I loved in my life would be in my possession for eternity, unknowing of how cruel the world can be. The world is a mean and nasty place, and it will beat you down as long as you let it. Nothing is worse than losing someone who you love and cherish more than anything in the world. I ve lost everything. I had told myself the day my grandmother passed away. I was halfway through with cutting the grass, just finishing up the side yard when I was called inside. I knew that she was sick. I didn t know how bad. I was told her chances were minimal but I never listened. I was stubborn. I slowly walked towards the house, my heart was pounding like the beat of a drum, knowingly of what was about to happen. I looked at my watch, 10:05 the time read. I opened the door as I reluctantly entered my house. Tears started to fill my eyes as my family stares at me. My Aunt handed me the telephone as I slowly put it into my grasp. I moved the phone up to my ear and listened, but there was only silence. Everything was silent until I whispered softly into the phone, Hello? For a few moments it was still silent. Then I heard my father come back on the phone crying. He slowly spoke, Thomas I... I m sorry your grandmother has passed away . Everything went dark. No. This can t be how is she gone? • 5. How And Ways Of Merging Finances When part of a couple, there are several entertaining things you will do with your loved one. Going on vacations, enjoying candlelit dinners and even going on shopping trips are all things couples like to do together. Along with being fun, the one thing these activities have in common is that they cost money. Prior to marriage, or even before a couple starts to get serious, money may not be too much of a concern. It is when people start to build a future together that the topic of money and possibly merging finances will need to be discussed and sorted out. Merging finances may seem like a brilliant idea, but prior to couples doing this, there a number of things they should consider, so they have the best possible outcome instead of more stress. 1. Be honest about finances The number one mistake that couples make when marrying or moving in together is not being honest about their finances. Oftentimes, people may feel ashamed at the fact that they have a lot of debt, especially from credit cards, student loans, medical bills and more. On top of that, they may not be making very much money from their current job, and in combination with their debt, they are concerned about appearing financially unstable. The average person has some sort of debt, so there is really nothing to be embarrassed about. If you want your relationship to have the least amount of financial stress possible, then you have to be honest and fill your significant other in on what is going on with your ... • 6. Great Gatsby Disillusionment Analysis The Great Gatsby is a tale of of the rich and their fantastical fancies. This novel has become representative of America s roaring twenties and Fitzgerald praised posthumously for his work. However, Sven Birkets states that The Great Gatsby is a story of disillusionment and hope and I must say that I agree with this assertion. By reading carefully and looking into the hidden messages of The Great Gatsby, readers will begin to have a glimpse into the heads of the rich, seeing and feeling their outlandish problems and pastimes. Jay Gatsbyis a prime example of these fevered dreams and the Buchanans represent how deceiving these illusions can be at their point of culmination. The Buchanan family was the result of this change, although the couple has quiet disputes, as all marriages contain, they remained together and strong. Their bond remaining strong was when Gatsby finally began to become disillusioned with his paradise, but he was determined and hopeful to the bitter end. Throughout the novel, Gatsby is throwing parties and hoping Daisy will wander in, he finally finds a link to her in Nick and hopes she will sit with him in front of a fireplace one more time, and even when defeated by Tom, Gatsby remains ever faithful, watching over Daisy all through the night. Nearly everyone in every household in America, Germany, and Great Britain owned one to help them stay up to date on the events happening around them. Norman started to clean up the cabin with no emotions, he was very calm for somebody to just find out that a girl they really starting to fall for has been murdered. It seems very strange; He started to clean up so good that he was trying to hide this messy scene, and even showed us or gave us a clue that it was not his first time cleaning up a messy scene like this. In the filmPyscho, Alfred Hitchcocks nightmarish disturbing themes, Confused Identities, Voyeurism, and corruptibility are realistically revealed through repeated uses of motifs such as birds, eyes, hands, and mirrors. Clarification of Norman playing the role as his moms was very frightening. There was so much confusion, You find out who is who by looking at the end of the movie. Plays are designed to reflect significant issues of a society, on which they were created. The play Black Diggers by Tom Wright, uses certain devices and forms of symbolism to emphasise not only the historical relations between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians, but to link ideas to contemporary issues to provoke ideas of empathy. Wright creates a series of character encounters, to express how an Indigenous racial identity is perceived by society and compare a period of discrimination and infringement of rights to how it is expressed at war during World War 1. The Westernmotif is one that has been trivialized, heckled, idealized, subverted , and replicated exponentially throughout not only American cinemas but motion pictures world wide. Blazing Saddles serves as both a form of this subversion and a burlesque depiction of the genre itself. The film s complex sense of humor prioritizes aspects that can only be completely relished based on the personal experiences of the viewer a satirical comedy attempting (and succeeding) at ridiculing copious aspects of an otherwise ideal Western society. Blazing Saddles serves as a mockery of the traditional white westerner archetype, the Ku Klux, and all sorts of minority groups, while simultaneously bringing awareness to the harsh treatment and racial prejudice against African Americans. In short, the rise of Trump has sent the Republican establishment into disorder and challenged traditional views in political science. Given his lack of experience and slanderish rhetoric, how has Trump maintained the attention and vote of the Republican electorate? To answer this question, I will not depend on concepts such as voter turnout and demographic blocs often used by political scientists. Instead, I will explore the religionof Donald Trump. For this ambitious task, I will employ philosopher William James and his The Varieties of Religious Experience to illuminate the personal side of religious politics, alongside with sociologist Emile Durkheim and his The Elementary Forms of Religious Life to unpack the communal side. Given that individual voters constitute the electorate in American politics, Donald Trump must derive support from disposed and amenable persons. However, before exploring this idea, I must introduce William James conception of religion to find these disposed and amenable persons. In Varieties, James defines religion as, the feelings, acts, and experiences of individual men in their solitude, so far as they apprehend themselves to stand in relation to whatever they may consider divine (James, 32). Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed. This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (Пѓ) bond with another sigma (Пѓ) bond. In substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1 and Sn2. A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously). The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl 1 propanol has a melting point of 18В°C. It also has a boiling point of 119В°C. The density of the alcohol us 1.001 g/mL. In reaction 2, the boiling point of 2 pentanol is 119В°C. The melting point of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Undocumented Immigrants Be Deported Essay Immigration has been a hot topic for not only President s Trump first 100 days in office, but also became a hot topic during the presidential campaign leading up to the election. There are a multitude of different debates that fall under the immigration category, but an issue that should be discussed in the national discourse by engaging citizens is the legalization and granting of citizenship to undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Even though it is heavily debated, undocumented immigrants should be granted the legal right to become U.S. citizens. A poll done by CNN in March states that 71% of people believe that the government should not attempt to deport all people current living in the country illegally (Kopan, 1) compared to only 27% that believe illegal immigrants should be deported by the same poll. This is key in the discussion being debated that undocumented immigrants should be legal citizens of the United States. Not only is it not inhumane, but also it would hurt the economy as well since granting citizenship to undocumented workers causing the economy to grow, not stunt its growth. Even though many believe that undocumented immigrants becoming citizens will harm citizen s jobs, this is also proven to be false because immigrants create jobs and fill the gaps of the jobs not done by natural born citizens. The Monster Of Living With Grief Abby Wigand Mr. Mitchell Communication Art IV 30 September 2016 The Monster of Living with Grief As Keanu Reeves once said, Grief changes shapes, but it never ends ( Tragic ). When it comes to grief there are usually five shapes or stages that people go through: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance. The book A Monster Calls, by Patrick Ness, is about a young boy who is struggling with school, bullies, friends, and family when his mother develops a terminal illness. He is visited by the monster, a massive yew tree, who comes alive to teach Conor the ways of the world. He also teaches Conor the truth in order to move past his mother s sickness. Ness shows how people in both literature and real life tend to go through five stages of grief while dealing with a loved one who has a terminal illness because of the overwhelming lamentation it inflicts. The first stage of grief is as the sharks say in Finding Nemo, DENIAL. In the book, Conor s grandma told him that his mother s condition would not get better with one of the new treatments. He denied it by saying, The treatments are making her better... (42). Even though the treatments had not worked, Conor refused to believe that the treatments will not work because he needs his mother to get better. On the other hand how do I respond differently to a manager whom I believe is trustworthy? And, last we will discuss which do I prefer and why. When working with a boss whom I do not trust, I tend hold back on giving them my real opinions. I usually keep my commits, concerning day to day activities to myself. I m not sure if they will turn my commits or opinions around and try to use it against me in an evaluation. I also feel when your manager is not worthy of your trust, it creates a somewhat hostile working environment because you are always looking over my shoulder to see what they are observing. In most cases of voluntary resignation, employees will provide notice of their intent to resign to allow for a more orderly transition of responsibilities. Forced resignation of directors A forced resignation is when an employee is required to depart from their position due to some issue caused by their continued employment or may be due to the employer s wishes to dismiss the employee, but the employer may be offering a softened firing. In a high profile position the employee may want to leave before the press is learned more negative information about one s controversial nature. Differences between voluntary and forced resignations Agency One of the main differences between voluntary and forced resignation is who gives the resignation of employment. Both voluntary and forced resignation signify that the employment will end, but when someone is forced to resign it means that the employer has decided to sever the employment. The employer can sever employment for any reason, so long as it is not based on issues of race, religion or the sex of the employee. The employee can be cut for numerous reasons such as a new employment opportunity or ongoing investigations of the employee. Together with Rajaratnam, Gupta was removed from his position of ... • 41. The Chuckwallas and Evolutionary Research Ever since Charles Darwin s first publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859, island habitats have been used by a number of scientists as the most efficient laboratories to observe the natural process of evolution taking place in modern day organisms. Several kilometers northeast of the Galapagos Islands, where Darwin famously performed his research, is a small group of islands in the Sea of CortГ©s, also known as the Gulf of California, between the Baja California peninsula and Mexico (see Figure 1 on page 18). Here many evolutionary biologists of the 20th and 21st century performed research on the insular organisms inhabiting these island habitats. One group of lizards in particular known by the common name chuckwallas has gained a lot of focus in evolutionary research. Chuckwallas is the name of organisms in the Sauromalus genus apart of the Iguanidae family. They are herbivorous lizards commonly found in the deserts of southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. Three species, in particular, are found on the islands off the cost of the mainland within the Sea of CortГ©s: Sauromalus obesus (= ater), Sauromalus varius, and Sauromalus hispidus (see Figure 2 on page 20). S. obesus is a common species found on the mainland as well as few islands, while S. varius are S. hispidus are endemic to specific islands in the Sea of CortГ©s: mainly San Esteban Island and Angel de la Guarda Island, respectively. Both of these insular species also show signs of gigantism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The VeriChip that is implanted into the body is considered to be a passive RFID tag because it doesn t use or contain batteries and due to that the VeriChip remains inactive until a proprietary scanner activates it. Passive RFID tags, like the VeriChip, boast a number of unique, significant features. Passive RFID tags have longer lifetimes than active RFID tags (with onboard batteries) and the, the estimated lifetime of a VeriChip is over 20 years. The passive RFID tags can only broadcast low frequency radio waves because of their minimal power. In the VeriChip s case, it broadcasts on the low frequency (LF) band between 125 and 134.2 KHz (Fox, 2004). Given the VeriChip s low power, the tag ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those are Mitosis and meiosis which are similar and different than one another. There are many ways that mitosis and meiosis are similar such as them having always having a Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase,Telophase (PMAT). In addition, both of them have their own interphase at the start of the PMAT. Also, since they have a PMAT then they will always create cells during it which would mean that PMAT will always repeat. • 46. Macbeth Tragic Hero In Shakespeare s play Macbeth, the main character goes from being a virtuous war hero at the beginning of the story to a malevolent tyrant towards the end. This defines Macbeth as a tragic hero throughout the play. A tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. Not only does he fit the definition of a tragic hero, but he also exhibits many important characteristics that shape this description. These characteristics include being an individual of high noble birth and incorporating many admirable heroic qualities. Further, tragic heroes are doomed to make a serious error in judgement and are responsible for their own fate. As well as this, they have a tragic flaw, leading them... In response to the first murderer telling Macbeth that Fleance had escaped the murder, Macbeth states, The young snake that escaped will in time become poisonous and threatening (3.4.32 33). This shows how Macbeth realized how he made an irreversible mistake as he knew that the witches predicted Banquo s sons to eventually become king. Therefore, Fleance could be a threat to his throne. Before this occurred, Macbeth also says, Then comes my fit again. I had else been perfect, Whole as the marble, founded as the rock, As broad and general as the casing air. But now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in To saucy doubts and fears (3.4.23 27). This event proves how Macbeth is worried about his throne as confidence in safety and innocence collapses. Now that Fleance has escaped as well, Macbeth is put up with the greater threat of trying to find him again later on in order kill him. This allows Fleance to stay safe for a while, and become a larger threat to Macbeth as he is becoming more prepared and older for the throne if something were to happen to Macbeth. After he realizes that he had made an irreversible mistake, Macbeth then accepts responsibility for his own fate. Upon seeing the ghost of Banquo at his banquet, Macbeth says, You can t say I did it. Don t shake your bloody head at me (3.4.59 60). This highlights how Macbeth is unconsciously facing and accepting the responsibility for his own fate. Since Macbeth saw a ghost of his best friend that he killed, this shows how guilt is definitely on his mind, and how he must be ashamed of his actions. If Macbeth honestly didn t face and accept responsibility for his own fate, he would have disregarded the ghost altogether and probably would have went with the assumption of having too much wine when he first came in contact with the ghost. • 49. How Entertainment Ruining Society The potential of entertainment to affect society is great and some would argue that it has the capacity to ruin society such as Neal Gabler a critic of entertainment who in his book Life the Movie: How Entertainment Conquered Reality that entertainment has the capacity to ruin society. If we look at both more recent iterations of entertainmentor even if we look at some forms of classic literature we can clearly see the harmful ways that entertainment can affect people. One example of this is the recent controversy with the nfl, sports are suppose to unite the country but lately we have been seeing otherwise. Certain players in the nfl have decided not to stand for the national anthem and essentially split the country in two the people who support them and the people who don t. It even got so serious that the president decided to respond and kept hammering home the point that we need to stand for their national anthem in order to respect the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for their country. This is a perfect example of how entertainment can ruin society first it starts with something small like the decision of a professional athlete then it escalates into a national issue and eventually the country is completely split into two and it dissolves the ties of our... So, if there was a fire and some became vaporized, it could potentially cause a large explosion. Another interesting thing about isopropanol is how it is soluble in many different liquids such as alcohol, water, ether, chloroform, benzene, and most organic solvents. This means that you can create many different substances out of propanol that could potentially be used in places that you would not expect.
