LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. Key Characteristics Of A Vernacular Region
A vernacular region is an area that people think is part of their cultural identity. This is because the
south has its own culture and characteristics that differentiate it from other vernacular regions
throughout the U.S.A. The south ends beneath a straight line formed by Daytona Beach and Crystal
River. This is characterized by three key characteristics: culture, immigration, and economy. The south
s culture, characterized by the confederate flag and food, are very prominent in the north portions, but
not so much in the south. The confederate flag can be seen very often in the north, whether it be on the
back of cars, on flag poles, or next the American flags on houses. However, this admiration for the
Confederate States of America are not exemplified as much in the south due to the higher Latino
population, which are usually immigrants from nearby countries, not whites who descended from
southerners in the 1800 s. Restaurants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3. Stroke Effect
One of the more common side effects after suffering a stroke is difficulty with speech. This can be
very frustrating for the stroke victim and can make recovery all that much difficult. Speech therapy is
an essential part of stroke rehab. It offers the patient the ability to recover the ability to communicate.
How Does Stroke Affect Speech Speech is not a simple process when it comes to brain functions. A
person has to think about what he or she wants to say. Then, those thoughts must be translated into
words. Then the brain must command the mouth and throat to form those words and transmit sound.
Understanding what someone is saying is just as complicated. The brain must capture the soundwaves
that the ears capture. Then, the brain must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes to physical motion, each side of the brain controls what is happening on the other side.
That means the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, and the left side of the brain
controls the right side of the body. However, each side of the brain has additional functions besides
controlling motion. The left side of the brain is normally tasked with controlling speech and
understanding language. So, if a stroke affects the left side of the brain, it is possible for it to affect
that person s ability to speak or to understand what is being said. This is part of a condition known as
aphasia. Aphasia can cause problems with speaking, listening, reading, writing, understanding speech,
and thinking of words when speaking or writing. The exact symptoms involved with a particular
patient depends on the type and severity of the injury to the brain. It affects about 20 percent of stroke
patients. How Does Speech Therapy Improve Aphasia The most common treatment for aphasia is
treatment with a speech language therapist. The therapist works to identify the exact issues the patient
is having and to develop a plan on how to improve and manage those issues. The therapist can help
the patient use his or her remaining abilities to the fullest, to restore language abilities where possible,
to work around remaining language problems, and to learn other ways to get the message

4. Environmental Effects Of Organic Pollution And Its Effects...
Organic pollutants normally originate from numerous human activities which include manufacturing,
managing storing, and disposal of chemicals. Industrial places are a contributor of the contaminations
that besiege our environment and this does not stop there as the oil refineries on their own in some
countries cause unquantifiable damages to their land and water bodies. Agricultural activities which
involve use of pesticides and insecticide also contribute, not to talk of households generally.
THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
This is another instance within the feel, commonly due to the fact their waste is known to pollute
waste streams. In real sense, the waste discharge from chemical industry at the moment are adequately
managed and treated earlier than being launched into the environment. There were no facilities to
effect this treatment in the past and so there is a considerable level of damages which has already
struck the water bodies due to this waste disposal by industries. Even though efforts have commenced
to beat to the barest minimum this sort of pollutants, its impact continues have not totally vanished.
HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS
There are release of substances which are products of chemical organics that not only affects the
environment but takes decades for it to decompose. We use most of these products in our environment
and though not many know the harms it because they are largely disastrous to the environment. There
are massive campaigns against the use of polythene bags as well as pet bottles because of the harms
which their accumulation causes to the water bodies and animals in the sea. Chemical substances
which contaminate the environment would not out rightly present themselves as contaminants because
some are useful environ to man. This leads to the detergent we use in our laundry, the constituent of
this detergents are not only beneficial but they are also in turn return devastating characteristics to
land. An examination of the labels of a detergent will present to us the ingredient which is typically
unsafe chemical compounds.

5. The Grapes Of Wrath Character Analysis Sarty
One can easily detect that Sarty is somewhat a prisoner to his father, Abner s, abusive and sadistic
behavior. No matter how hard Sarty tried, nothing he did ever seemed to make his father proud. For
instance, in the opening scene after Abner s hearing a teenage boy shouted, [b]arn burner! , as Abner
and Sarty were leaving the makeshift courtroom/convenient store. Sarty, in response, sprung at the boy
to defend his father s honor; however, Abner is quite ungrateful for his son s reaction, for he pulled
Sarty back and spoke to him in a harsh, cold voice to [g]o get in the wagon , as if he were almost
embarrassed of Sarty s behavior (pg. 516). Regardless of Sarty s efforts to make his father happy and
prove his loyalty, later that evening, Abner struck him on the side of the head, hard but without heat,
exactly as he had struck the two mules at the store, exactly as he would strike either of them with any
stick in order to kill a horse fly because he sensed that Sarty was fixing to tell the truth to the Justice
of the Peace during the hearing (pg. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abner would go to jail, or even worse, he would beat the living daylight out of Sarty. Throughout the

despite the fact that Abner s line of thinking was completely corrupt, or betraying his father by doing
what is morally right. I could keep on , Sarty thought to himself as he runs to fetch an oil can for his
father before warning Major de Spain, I could run on and on and never look back, never need to see

decide to look at primarily in state schools, which helped me narrow down my search, but ultimately

7. Compare And Contrast The Great Gatsby And The King s Speech

Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald and the exceptional visual sensation that is The King s Speech .
The cultural context alludes what aspects are relevant to the society of that world and their daily lives.
I was very intrigued when comparing both of these texts.
While the texts presents very different worlds there are some striking similarities. Ultimately each text
creates its own unique universe which impacts the protagonist in a variety of ways.
Setting

In The King s Speech The main protagonists are either members of the English Royal family or a
family man from the colonies in middle class. A moment of class snobbery was availed in the film
when Bertie and Elizabeth went to Balmoral castle to attend one of David and Wallace s extravagant
parties. This itself was a red flag to the Duke and Duchess since the royal family doesn t throw such
informal and decadent parties since they too respected and classy for events like that. Elizabeth s short
wit and tempered and vivid when Wallis greets them informally and acted as if everything was hers.
This was evident in the mise en scene showing her close up with the expensive chandelier overhead.
Elizabeth rudely brushed her off then stated I was invited on behalf of the king . Afterwards her and
Churchill discussed how a commoner like her couldn t marry David. This proves the class snobbery
that is present in The King s Speech
In The Great Gatsby we also see this exact same class consciousness at myrtle and Tom s apartment.
This is evident when Lucille stated I almost made mistake too. I almost married a little kike who d
been after me for years. I know he was below me. Everyone kept saying; Lucille, that man s below

Before Pharmacy 2100 began, I wasn t entirely sure what career I wanted to pursue but I knew I

to take the pharmacy route or the medicine route. I was worried that I wouldn t like pharmacy because
I thought it was pretty boring and monotonous and definitely not something I would want to do every
day. I also had fears that if I wouldn t get accepted into professional school that I would have a degree
that you can t do much with. Through the course I have learned that there are a lot more careers path
that I can pursue with a pharmaceutical sciences degree than just pharmacy or medicine. Completing
the career research handout helped me to see all the different options I really have but hearing from
speakers was even more effective. Hearing from speakers allowed me to better visualize the jobs and
understand the requirements as well as the daily life of the person in that profesion. One speaker that
particularly sparked my interest was Kevin Ricks, his work seemed very fascinating and I learned that

9. Gender Representation Of Female Gender Roles Affect...
Despite what seems to be positive empowerment of females alike, Mulan in fact does not encourage
the individual empowerment of women through separation of traditional gender stereotypes. In fact,
Mulan emphasizes the roles between binary genders that ensure privilege of men over women.
Additionally, the film shows how such stereotypical gender roles affect society through social
oppression of the minority group. Throughout the film, it is obvious that, although it is possible to
have gender performativity, there is disempowerment of women and a man s life is that which is more
significant than a woman s. For the duration of the movie, the idea of masculinity is emphasized and
its ideas are reinforced. Notably, when Shang, the captain of the army, sings the song I ll Make a Man
out of You (Wilder et al., 1998a), the portrayal of the stereotypical representation of masculinity is
obvious. The lyrics Did they send me daughters, when I asked for sons? further points to the notion
that there is only one gender that is worthy and appropriate to fight (1998). Additionally, the captain s
main goal is to make a man out of each member in the army. The assertion is that femininity is not
acceptable; the womanly recruits have been transformed into real men in order to competently fight
the war. Towbin et al., supports this notion in that men and boys are portrayed as rescuers who save
the day (2004). Although the film appears to be supporting feminist ideals as

interpretation can be your feelings and thoughts are what make you who you are and without them we

and overall very bland. This is why when the main character Jonas realizes what the Giver and the
Receiver do and how they are important, he is conflicted on what actions to take. Jonas understands
that everyone is being deprived of this unique experience but he also knows that if he does make
everyone else aware, chaos will result. The old adage states chaos is an angel that fell in love with a

the narrator in terms of wording and possible educational class. Wheeler is clearly understood through

railroad shops. At a very young age, Debs was exposed to the poor treatment of immigrant workers
who worked in the railroad industry. Debs was then inspired to become an activist and initiate a

unfair wages and poor treatment was an issue to be resolved. Eugene V. Debs

21. Culture and Technology in Athens and Sparta Essay
Culture and Technology in Athens and Sparta
The culture of a society, as determined by its political, social and religious structure, is a major factor
in the development of its technology. Even societies that exist in the same time and environment can
progress in different directions, depending on the interests and goals of the public. The ancient city
states or poleis (polis sing.) of Athens and Sparta provide an excellent example of how cultural
differences influence the development of technologies.
Athens and Sparta were the main rival poleis in Ancient Greece around 4th century BC. Besides the
fact that they were both called polis, the two cities had very little in common. Athens controlled the
whole Attic region and could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The construction of a city wall was also considered a wasteful display of wealth, which Spartans
despised (Pomeroy, p.140).
The different geographic location of Athens and Sparta had a great impact on their military strategy
and technologies. Athens was close to the sea, therefore it expanded by conquering nearby islands.
This necessitated the construction of ships, which was expensive and required a lot of wood material
and cheap labor. Both of those were supplied by Athens allies; wood was purchased with paid tributes
and labor came from conquered slaves (Pomeroy, p.22). Sparta was situated far inland on the
Laconian plain and had no access to sea. It directed its military expansion towards the neighboring
poleis and relied mostly on its standing army. In return, its allies were expected to provide military
support to the Spartan army in an effort to appropriate even more land on the Peloponnesian
peninsula.
Athens and Sparta shared the same sources of income, agriculture and slave labor, but they managed
them in different manners. The slaves in Sparta were called helots and since they had no rights, they
were often treated as tools rather than as human beings. The helots belonged to the state not to their
landlord, so they can be considered a part of the agricultural technology. Since Spartans major
obligation in life was serving in the army, they left the management of their land to

In recent times, the economy has plummeted at a horrific rate. We can see it in our everyday life, from
how much our produce costs to the price we pay for gas. But one thing that we may not see until it s to
late is the damage caused by the funding cuts for the arts programs and education in America. In
addition to impeding American children s educational and moral development, we revert to a poor
cultural quality by lowering our standards of arts education due to the poor economic condition of our

Department of Education to devote their time and efforts to, it has been severely neglected.

24. The Negative Effects Of Oil Drilling
As polar ice in the Arctic region melts, there are many implications associated with it. The melting ice
opens up sea lanes, providing access to priceless natural resources, such as the estimated 90 billion
barrels of the world s undiscovered oil (Karaim 336). For the United States, this is a great opportunity.
Access to these energy reserves would open up expansion of the oil industry, which advocates of oil
drilling say will lead to extensive economic development (Karaim 335) in northern Alaska and the rest
of the Arctic region. However, scientists caution that an increase in oil drilling will have destructive
effects on the environment. Increased greenhouse gas pollution from oil drilling facilitate global
warming, which will melt even more polar ice, absorbing more sunlight and harming vivid Arctic
ecosystems. The higher risk for oil spills will harm marine wildlife, which translates to harming the
indigenous Arctic peoples. Their diets will be altered, new diseases will be introduced, and the
changing of the Arctic land will restrict their rich cultural traditions and lifestyles. Although oil
drilling will facilitate economic development in the Arctic, it should not be continued because its
implementation is not sustainable for the environment, nor does it improve the lifestyles of the
indigenous Arctic peoples.
One concern that scientists have regarding oil drilling in the Arctic is the perpetuation of climate
change that comes along with it. Expansion of the oil

Slightly over 50 per cent of the respondents had not seriously considered ABC and around one third
were vetting it.
In 1995 the Australian Society of CPAs initiated a major survey on ABC amongst Australian
manufacturers. This survey, which was conducted by the University of Technology, Sydney, involved
213 firms covering all aspects of Australian manufacturing (Corrigan, 1996; Wood, 1996). This survey
showed that 45 per cent of the surveyed firms had never considered adopting ABC (although 88 per
cent of those surveyed acknowledged awareness of activity based costing), 29 per cent were still in the
process of considering adopting it, 14 per cent had considered and rejected it and only 12 per cent of
the firms surveyed had actually implemented it. The highest adoption rates of ABC were found
amongst the food, beverage and tobacco industry with 25 per cent of this group using this method.
Of those companies which had adopted ABC most had implemented it within one to two years after
making their decision to adopt it and the majority of these companies believed that they had achieved
five goals: more accurate product costing; better cost management; better cost control; better
allocation of overheads; and more accurate cost information.
The Australian survey found that those companies which rejected ABC claimed that the uncertainty of
benefits and the high cost relative to perceived benefits were the main

Upon my research I found out that there are many justices related programs from a restorative or
community framework that are being offered and available to people all ages, from 0 to 4 and even
55+, races and genders. In order to determine what program I want to look deeper into and examine, I
turned to the Office of Justice Programs website which lists over 400 programs available. The website
points out what programs work and where tested and those that where deemed as failed researches and
programs, more specifically 90 effective programs, 272 as promising, and 81 as no effect. One
particular program that I was interested in and is listed as one of the effective programs and applies to
my set of principles is Adolescent Diversion Project (ADP) or another name they use is Michigan
State University Adolescent Project (MSUAP) which was founded and is practiced at Michigan State
University. The set of principles that I found Adolescent Diversion Project (ADP) program relevant to
are: restorative justice should not be mandated in a top down authoritarian process, no single road map
or blueprint for every individual involved, all persons involved must be prepared to make mistakes,
assistance provided should help people involved in the long run, crime involves disruptions in a three
dimensional relationship of victim, community, and offender, the primary goals should be to repair the
harm, heal the victim and the community, and rehabilitate offenders.

force to fix the problem. This drug task force was made of people in different departments of the

When this drug force started to get information about the suspect the head chief funded the program.
With the funded the drug force got more cars, vans, and listening devices to help them get the suspects

30. The Trojan Women Movie Review
The film The Trojan Women is an anti war film not only condemning the emotional and societal
affects of war in general, but also focusing on the effects of such conflicts upon women in particular.
This focus allows the story to be more universally relevant, particularly so to the mothers, wives, and
daughters who watched the men in their lives being called to serve in the Vietnam War, and
subsequently watched the harrowing television coverage of hundreds of body bag being shipped back
home. Although the film is set in Troy, an invaded nation, and the Vietnam War was waged in a land
far away from the average viewer, the effect on women was very similar. In both cases, they were
forced to sit at home and hope for a favorable outcome. When it began to be clear that a victory was
not to be had, they had to deal with the reality of never being able to see their father, brother, husband,
or son again. Along with this experience was the natural inclination to question why such a fate was
theirs, why they were left without a lover, protector, or child, and what was to become of their futures.
The character of Hecuba, who has lost her husband, son, and later loses her grandson in the ravages of
war strongly portrays the vacillating emotions experienced by those left behind. She is at times strong,
protective of Cassandra, demanding to know the fate of her family, and wrathful toward Helen,
demanding that King Menelaus dispense with her immediately. Other times she is mournful and

Many fields are flooded in order to cultivate enough rice for England and the colony. Freshwater
swamps are not the only means by which rice can be produced. A number of the chief rice fields are
situated along the tidal rivers and inlets. Dikes and floodgates are used to regulate the amount of water
supplied to the field according to whether it is low tide or high tide. The same process is reversed
when water needs to be drained from the fields (Garraty, 51). People of Africa s Rice Coast taught this
technique to the settlers. A large portion of the population is made up of people from the rice
producing regions of Africa. The economy is reliant upon enslaved Africans. Not only is the role of
slave labor significant in the rice culture, but also in the production of indigo. Eliza Lucas introduced
the second cash crop, indigo. Although indigo increases the revenue of the colony immensely, it
cannot compete with rice for either land or labor. It prospers on high ground and needs cultivation in

ABSTRACT
Lysosomal storage diseases (LSDs) are a group of genetic disorders, resulting from deficiencies of
lysosomal enzyme. Genotype phenotype correlation is essential for timely and proper treatment
allocation. Recently, by integrating prediction outcomes of 7 bioinformatics tools, we developed a
SAAMP algorithm to predict amino acid substitutions. To optimize this approach, we evaluated the
performance of these bioinformatics tools in a broad array of genes. PolyPhen and PROVEAN had the
best performances, while SNP GOs, PANTHER and I Mutant had the worst performances. Therefore,
SAAMP 2.0 was developed by excluding 3 tools with worst performance, yielding a sensitivity of
94% and a specificity of 90%. To generalize the guideline to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It depends on the degree of protein function affected by specific mutations, the biochemistry of the
storage materials, as well as the cell types where storage occurs.
Diagnosis of LSDs is an often long and burdensome odyssey [4], which usually includes
quantification of macromolecules excreted in urine, enzyme assay with leukocytes (or cultured skin
fibroblasts), mutation analysis and symptoms based judgment. An alternative approach is newborn
screening (NBS) program, which shortens the diagnostic process. Early detection by NBS allows for
early initiation of disease modifying treatment which is essential for optimal treatment efficacy.
However, NBS usually leads to the identification of individuals with low enzyme activity with
previously unreported genetic variants of unknown significance [5]. Therefore, decisions on treatment
initiation can be complicated in pre symptomatic patients, and a robust phenotypic prediction is
essential.
To this end, we utilized the bioinformatics tools to analyze mutations in the IDUA gene and
established a guideline for predicting genotype phenotype correlation [6]. As shown in Figure 1, a step
by step guideline for phenotype prediction of MPS I disease was established. When a mutation is
identified, 1) if it is a known disease causing mutation, refer to previous literature for deducing
phenotype severity; 2) if not, conduct in silico analyses. More

The men in the poem The Charge of the Light Brigade was foolish and here s why. The order to

was also foolish because if someone had brought the fault to attention and persuaded the leader to
come up with a better plan they would have survived and won the battle. I don t see why you can t
question an order that basically saying go die when it will not help the cause that your there for in the

fault like this. It s even more foolish they went through with it and didn t speak up at all and their
deaths end in vain. Some say that was heroic and brave of them I say they did it for nothing and that
they were foolish. Not only was it a head on charge toward cannons they didn t even think about
making it hard for the cannons to hit them and in the end they lost their lives while losing the whole
battle. For starters, you should all ways question or just bring to light improvements to any plans
brought up by anybody. Not just say oh this is going to go badly and do nothing that what really made

40. Patrick Suskind s Perfume Character Analysis
Patrick Süskind s seminal 1985 novel, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, achieves that rare feat of
creating a main character who is both the protagonist and antagonist or in another phrase an anti hero.
The novel discusses the life of Grenouille who became an infamous criminal who lived in the
significant change and unrest in Paris in 18th century France and had experienced life chiefly through
his highly developed sense of smell. Süskind s did a marvelous job in using personality traits that can
be easily be distinguished to an actual serial killer. He has also been more in depth within Grenouille s
personality by adding common mental disabilities and psychological abuse that the majority of
infamous killers faced throughout their lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without bearing an odor, he was titled as unidentified and abominable. This led him the absence for
someone to guide him and comprehending the difference of what is considered morally right or
wrong. However, unlike Grenouille, Ed Gein isolation was due to the fault of parental guidance. Gein
lived a repressive and solitary life on his family homestead with a weak brother, violent unemployed
alcoholic father, and domineering mother. His mother, moved into a desolate location to prevent
outsiders from influencing her sons. ( Ed Gein: Real American Psycho. Ed Gein: Real American
Psycho.) Gein only left the premises to go to school and she blocked any attempt he made to pursue
friendships. The mother, who was a fanatical Lutheran, drummed into her boys the innate immorality
of the world, the evil of drink and the belief that all women (herself excluded) were prostitutes and
lubricious. When she died, her son was a thirty nine year old bachelor, still emotionally enslaved to
the woman who had tyrannized his life. (Ed Gein Biography and Crime Scene Photos. Wisconsin

In addition, Both Gien and Grenouille also had the capability to manipulate others, one of the main
symptoms that each sociopath carry. Grenouille manipulated Baldini so he can stay and work with
him. He also manipulated the public and the government to pardon his crimes and Laure

41. Hasidism In Chaim Potok s The Chosen
In Chaim Potok s 1967 novel, The Chosen, Danny Saunders is the son of a Hasidic rabbi who wants
Danny to become a rabbi as well. Danny ends up going away to study psychology at Columbia, where
he will eventually no longer maintain his strong, Jewish identity which can be proven by the way that
Reuven notes that he sounds like an apikoros, he calls Graetz a great scholar even when he reads the
volume which berates Hasidism and he enjoys the works of Darwin and Freud which are things that
true Hasids would never approve of. Some individuals believe that Danny will remain a Hasidic Jew
because of his devotion to his father and when he says that having someone speak horribly about

Their weak reasons insufficiently provide concrete evidence that support their claims. They believe
that because Danny is so devoted to his father that he will remain a Hasid. This is insufficient because
even though Danny may always love his father, it does not ensure that he will always love his father s
choices. They also believe that when Danny says it feels terrible to have a great scholar like Graetz
call Hasidism vulgar and disgusting (Potok 153) it proves that he respects his religion so much that he
would never abandon it. This does not provide evidence to their claim because even though Danny
may admit that it hurts to have people call his religion vulgar and disgusting , he doesn t rebut

42. Dead Poet s Society, By John Seale
He rips out the entire page. Everything in the book, gone. But it s not the book that will change the
world. It s the words and ideas, the ability to think for yourself, and to respect the beauty of language
and art. The overall message of the film Dead Poet s Society is not to be forgotten. Yet it s not only the
story that makes this film a classic. It s the ideas that stick behind the rising action, climax, and
resolution. It s the brilliance behind the camera movements, and the nostalgic use of lighting. It s the
cinematography, in the most basic scenes, that makes it a film for romantics, not realists. The decision
to pan the camera upwards or, to cast a shadow on a scene is all up to one person on set. In the movie
Dead Poet s Society, this vision belongs to cinematographer, John Seale. He is responsible for all the
little things that most don t pay attention to, but without it, the story would be no more than moving
pictures. Without an established cinematographer, the audience would be ... Show more content on

Yet, stories remain untold when people don t watch them as well. The movie Dead Poet s Society is a
movie for romantics. People who can open their eyes to the world, but still keep dreaming. It s the
cinematography, that guides our brain into that dream, the camera shots that puts us into that fantasy
and the light that we follow into the deepest corners of our imagination. This movie taught me, to see
beyond the shallow part of filmmaking, and to look beneath the mainstream storyline. To have a
dream, and to live that dream is an alluring thing and as I watched this movie, I realized that it s ok to
dream, to live in your imagination and to use the camera and lights to create that experience. To say it
in the most simplest of terms, and the most basic of definitions; Don t be afraid to stand up, on top of
that desk and say Oh Captain, my Captain (Dead Poet s Society) even if you re the quietest person in
that

The repetition of faire is to stress the purity and loveliness of the woman. This poem conveys warmth
and awe towards its subject, which is clearly romantic, with the use of elaborate adjectives and
phrases, common for the time, to convey his emotions.
John Clare s First Love, is about a man s feelings as he is seeing someone for the first time and falling
in love with them, the manner in which he talks of his desired one is similar to Shakespeare s
description in Shall I Compare Thee The language expresses the emotions he experiences and the
effects they are having on him, blood rushed to my face and took my sight away, and the
personification of his legs refusing to walk, show how these feeling are uncontrollable. The writing
style is intense this is shown by the hyperbole of his emotions stole my heart away completely…my
heart has left its dwelling place, and can return no more. There is a standard (a,b,a,b) rhyming scheme,
making the poem sound almost like a song, and poetic devices are used frequently. Alliteration of so
sudden and so sweet, , saw so sweet a face and blood burnt about my heart make the description stand
out. Also simile s are used often; her face bloomed like a flower, , my face turned pale as deadly pale

45. Mock Interview Essay
I actually enjoyed doing this mock interview. During the mock interview, overall I felt pretty
comfortable and confident. I think the biggest thing I learned from the mock interview is to give more
detail in my responses to the interviewer s questions. When answering a question from the interviewer
I should answer the question just as if I was writing it in an essay. Restate the question but with an
answer, give a reason or example to support my answer, and then conclude my response by tying the
information together. Good listening and eye contact are a few communication skills came into play
during my interview. I also learned that I have to be more direct when answering a question and state
more evidence to support my answers. If I answer
