LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall

2. Sole Proprietorship And Limited Liability Company
Sole Proprietorship and Limited Liability Company For the past two years, Acme has been
working out of the owner s garage as a sole proprietorship. Which means there is one entity and
there is no separation of the company and the owner. The sole proprietorship and the owner are
one and the same meaning the business is not taxed but rather it is the owner s income. The sole
proprietorship is the least expensive to form. This type of entity has disadvantages of the owner
being liable for all the debts of the company. Another disadvantage is the owner has to sign all
contracts in their name which makes them personally liable for any legal action that could incur.

The Great Journey of Vasilios
Vasilios, courageous king and understanding leader hears the pleas of his people and of his own
heart. It has been one month since the maritime pirates had come to his place of rule, Kyrenia on
the island of Cyprus, and taken what was most loved by the king and by all the kingdom; Callista,
Vasilios s only daughter. This abduction had stemmed from a failed marriagearrangement with the
prince of Smyrna, a distant land on the Aegean Sea. Callista was not happy with the arrangement
and begged her father to stop the deal and let her stay unmarried. Vasilios listened to his daughter
and declined the generous offer from the king of Smyrna. The king of Smyrna was enraged by
the refusal. He sent a band of pirates disguised as sea traders to capture Callista and bring her
back to Smyrna. The ruse worked and Callista was taken. The kingdom of Kyrenia entered a
period of upset at the loss of the beloved princess. Vasilios took action and put together a group of

Vasilios, leading his crew stops, and as everyone catches up, they behold the mountainous valley.
Then they look closer, and there, down in the valley was something no one expected to find. Down
in the valley, they discovered gigantic, hairy, beasts. These enormous beasts had long, shaggy hair,
and two sharp, protruding tusks. Hundreds of these mammoth beasts were there at the bottom of
this valley on the strange, strange island. The crew became so frightened at the sight of these
shaggy monsters, they promptly turned around and hurriedly began the long journey back to

5. Abuse Of Animal Abuse
Did you know about 10 million animals get abused and neglected every year? Circuses and Zoos
are prime examples of animal abuse and neglect. Animals like tigers, elephants, dolphins, and
whales should be in their natural habitat. These animals shouldn t be in small rusty cages, and
crowded pools. There are also people who illegally fight animals for money; i.e. Dog fighting,
cock fighting, etc. These animals fight for their lives, but the owners don t care about whether or
not they die, they just want money. Animals should not be used for our entertainment. Animals
are not given the choice of going into the entertainment world. People gamble on dog fighting,
cock fighting, etc. Wild cats and elephants in circuses endure abuse and neglect to be taught how
to jump through hoops of fire. SeaWorld neglects their animals once they get sick, and these
animals are given merely any space. Animal fighting is illegal in all 50 states in the U.S. and in
district Of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Yet animal fighting happens almost every day.
Most of the animals that fight are dogs, cocks, or hogs. Dog owners like to train their dogs how
to be aggressive. They chain their dog outside out of reach from other animals and people. The
dogs are given basic veterinary care and nutrition because the owners care about winning, not about
the dogs themselves. Some fighting dogs get steroids to enhance their muscles and increase their
aggressiveness. These dogs also get legal and illegal drugs

The Evolution of Ballet
Ballet is one of the first branches of artistic dance that originated several centuries ago. Since its
introduction, ballet has been influenced by many cultures and performers; moreover, because of
cultural and individual influences, ballet technique has been modified by different periods and
styles, such as the Renaissance period, the Romantic period and classic, as well as contemporary
styles. While dance has existed since almost the beginning human life, ballet was not introduced
until the fourteenth century in France. Ballet has spread to countries all around the world and each
country has contributed to ballet s development. Today, ballet continues to be a thriving
performance art enjoyed by many.

father, Filippo Taglioni, who came from a dancing family, became her instructor (Sanderson, Lisa

notable way that Jonas changed was through the colors he started to see when he got assigned to

Christian theology states that God created the earth and gave it as a gift to humans to be shared

recognizing humans as being an equal part of God s creation under which all species deserve
protection (Massaro, p.163). With such publicly known cases of pollution like the BP oil spill in

humans have been using the environment in accordance with the Stewardship or even the

possibility in the area around Yucca Mountain, and that such disasters would inevitably cause the

why Dr. Nawaraj suggests keeping the radioactive waste in aboveground containers located

the autonomy and decision processes of future generations...it would allow for the development of

13. The Impact Of Employment Conditions On Occupation
The impacts of employment conditions on occupation fulfillment is that people decide work
fulfillment by looking at what they are getting from the occupation and what they might want to or
trust that they ought to get. For instance, if a worker is accepting a yearly compensation of
$35,000 and trusts that he or she ought to be accepting a compensation of $30,000 than he or she
will feel fulfillment; in any case, if the worker trusts that he or she ought to get $40,000 than he or
she will feel dissatisfaction. This correlation would apply to every occupation aspect including:
aptitude level, position, limited time openings and supervision. The impacts of low employment
fulfillment can be extensive and this issue is of sympathy toward independent company proprietors
and also huge organizations. On the off chance that workers are not content with their occupations,
a few regions of their workare influenced and their conduct can likewise influence different
employees. When one employee is hopeless doing their occupation, the majority of the other
employees they come into contact with will be influenced by their disposition. Unfortunately, if
you see somebody who is so clearly unhappy, it will have you wondering what is wrong taking
you away from what you need to be doing. Negative states of mind can spread through a work
environment like an out of control fire. Low occupation fulfillment, combined with low

Decision Making Process
People make decisions every day. What clothes to wear? What movie to watch? What to cook for

(2011) suggest deductive and inductive reasoning are part of the decision making process.
Deductive reasoning arrives at a conclusion based on multiple premises that are assumed to be true

They are held to higher standards of ethical behavior for their roles and duties, including their
decision making processes (Rogerson, Gottlieb, Handelsman, Knapp, Younggren, 2011).
Conversely, when decisions involve complex circumstances, making ethical decisions can become
complicated. Ethical knowledge does not always generate ethical behavior (Rogerson et al., 2011).
Certain circumstances have personal and interpersonal influences that affect decisions, and intuition
may have a larger effect. Rogerson et al., (2011) argues that in the field of psychology, these

Although Howard et al., argument evolved many years prior to Rogerson et al., the concept

17. Physicalism Vs Dualism
Physicalism vs. Dualism There is without a doubt that there is wonder and question into the
existence of our mind and bodies and the various aspects that they uphold. There are issues
discussed that raise question as to how our mind and body work together as a system. This issue is
introduced by philosophers as the mind body problem. This problem questions the relationship
between our mental states and the physical aspects of our bodies. Throughout debates and time,
philosophers have come up with multiple solutions and ideas to solving and answering this
problem. There are two main responses to this mind body problem: dualism and physicalism.
Dualism, being that the mind and body are different things and physicalism, meaning the mind and
body are the same thing and that everything is entirely made physical. However, it seems that
dualism has a lot more explanation behind it than physicalism and is backed up to be more correct.
Dualism was put forth by Descartes, a philosopher, who had responded to this mind body problem
and the account of the relationship between our mental states and our bodies. Within this idea, there
is belief that the mind and the physical body are two separate and distinct things, meaning the mind
is not a material thing like the body... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This leads to the idea of functionalism, which we see is used to make sense of how our mental life
can be explained as an entirely physical phenomenon. Under functionalism, the mental states we
have are identical to functional states, which is what makes something a belief, desire, experience,
etc. Unlike dualism, which explains that there is a difference in kind between the mind, which is
immaterial, and the body, which is material, functionalism maintains that to talk about mental states
is just to talk about ways that physical systems function. With this idea, functionalism is a form of

18. Issues At Junk Van
The first year of 1 800 JUNK Van s existence saw success due to the virtual business model that
Marcus Kingo implemented. However, with the rapid growth of the business and future plans,
Kingo needs to address some serious operational issues going forward. To do this, he must
thoroughly analyze his current processes and determine both the current and future needs of the
business. Once this is complete, Kingo can be betterprepared to choose the most appropriate
information technology solution that will provide the greatest valueto 1 800 JUNK Van.
Process Issues at Junk Van
There are numerous problems with the Junk Van s current process. Inefficiencies exist in the
system that are preventing the business from maximizing value, such as drivers having to
sometimes go back to the customer s location in order to collect money. Data consolidation in
many areas of the process is also wasting valuable resources that could be better focused
elsewhere. This and other manual procedures are partly responsible for mistakes being made and
errors occurring. Having one live database copy is impractical and ineffective, especially
considering the company s virtual business model. Changes are bound to arise and there needs to
be a centralized place where all team members can go to make updates and look up relevant
information in real time. Emailing information back and forth among several people makes it easy
for some of that information to get lost in the mix. Kingo must also address his

By the 1960s, however, it was becoming obvious that if the NHL did not expand, a rival league

United States the American Football League was starting to become very successful at the time,
convincing many people that a rival hockey league would also succeed. In particular, the Western
Hockey League had moved into a number of major Pacific Coast markets, and had accumulated

television contracts, convinced the six owners to go ahead with expansion.

20. The Problem Of Human Development
Experts have spent centuries attempting to obtain the secrets of human development and identify
the exact science behind it. Experts have not been able to discover any exact influences of normal
human development, nor have they been able to uncover the exact causes of developmental
abnormalities (Disabilities). What they have found can seem quite confusing and has caused much
debate among those trying to tackle the answer to the question. Is ones developmental trajectory
determined by the highness of their genetics or what they experience from the environment to
which they are raised? Because of the spectrum of disciplines that this subject crosses the weight of
unanswered questions far exceeds the amount of answers questions and most of those answers lead
to more questions. As confusing, frustrating, and interminable as all this may seem, the
complexities have not discouraged, instead have encouraged further exploration into the subject.
It has long been established that without development human survival. Development is essential for
the continuance and sequentially survival of every species, including but not limited to, the human
species. Equally as mystifying, are the differentiations of development from one human to another.
How is it that one human develop more effectively than another? If development is essential to the
survival of the human race why do some not develop enough skill to survive on their own? Charles
Darwin believed that one human having abilities

21. Is Ross A Pluralistic View On Inherently Good Things And...
Ross has a pluralistic view on intrinsically good things compared to hedonists that have a monistic
view on intrinsically good things (Skelton, 2010). Ross argues that there is not only one
intrinsically good thing, but that there in fact are four intrinsically good things: virtue, pleasure,
justice, and knowledge. There should be more than one intrinsically good thing because there can
be exceptions to pleasure as the only intrinsically good thing, which is also why a prima facie good
thing is an important aspect to intrinsically good things and the values of human beings.
Hedonists believe that there is only one intrinsically good value, which is pleasure. Anything that
leads to pleasure is good for humans and ought to be sought. However, Ross disagrees with the fact
that there is only one intrinsically good thing and instead argues that there are four intrinsically
good things, which describe different situations where a thing can be intrinsically good and how
they can overlap and interfere with one another. Ross does not believe in the monistic theory of
value but in a pluralistic theory of value focusing on these four points.
The first value to Ross is the disposition of virtue and action. It is a character trade as well as a
moral action leading to a moral goodness. Ross further expands on this theory by focusing on
action and the desire to do one s duty as well as the desire to creating something good. Further the
desire to create pleasure for others as well is

22. Classroom Observation In The Classroom
On September 13th, 2017 I observed Chef Holman at Murray Calloway County Area Tech
Center. I first met principal, Dan Hicks, he showed us the facility and gave us an overview of all
programs offered at the school. Before this observation I did not know that culinary was a program
offered at an area tech center. During my observationI used the domains of the Danielson
Framework for teaching observation. I also learned many new ideas and I plan to apply them to my
future classroom.
For this observation I specifically observed for domains 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures and
2e: Organizing Physical Space. For 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures, I looked for little
instructional time that was lost due to routines, procedures, transitions, and handling of supplies.
Chef Holman said to keep the students attention she tries to keep her lectures under 20 minutes
so she can quickly transition the students into the kitchen. Her transition was different than what
I would have done as the teacher. Once lecture was over she released them into the kitchen,
verses where I would have gone into the kitchen and demonstrated techniques to successfully
complete the recipe. When I am a teacher I plan to show my students how to properly prepare
food by using lecture time and hands on demonstration time. One way I found there was some
hands on instruction loss in her second block was when she did not thoroughly explain the recipe.
The students had to come ask her questions and stop their progress in the kitchen. I liked the
suggestion Chef Holman made regarding designating certain days of the week to cooking and
others to lecture. This allows the students to get used to a routine and optimize their time spent in
the classroom so no instruction time is lost. I also liked Chef Holman s teaching strategy of
teaching the basics first. In my classroom when I am a teacher I want to start out with the very
basics because every student comes from a different back ground, you don t know what they have
or have not learned at home. I learned that you do not assume students know how to do something.
You need to explain everything step by step so students fully understand what is expected of them.

exhibit. The museum did a successful job at attaining all the facts about the Ancient Americans
despite the lack of native people to get information from, but they were unsuccessful at capturing

The giant sun stone in Empire Builders had the voice of the people. It was something that really

went through, what they did to perish through these sufferings, and how they felt and how the
people from the culture that are alive today feel about it all. It also showed the people engaging in
these different activities and cultures. The museum was unsuccessful in showing the emotions of

Techniques of Waste Heat Recovery
Waste heat recovery is being more used more and more often today as it is becoming more
effective, due to increasing energy prices, technological developments and a decrease in equipment
costs. Heat recovery can be classified into three main strategies: recycling energy back into the
process, recovering the energy for other onsite use and using it to generate electricity in combined
heat and power systems. Once the system has been made as efficient as possible before using
waste heat recovery, passive strategies are used. These have no significant input for operation
except for auxiliary equipment such as pumps and fans. The last case is active strategies, which

It is capable of operating at 300ВєC with around 70% heat recovery capability. They are used
where cross contamination between gas streams must be prevented in applications such as ovens
and steam boilers.
Run around coil exchangers
These are quite similar in principle to the heat pipe exchanger. The heat from the hot fluid is
transferred to the colder fluid via an intermediate fluid. One coil of this closed loop is installed in
the hot stream; the other in the cold stream and the circulation is maintained by means of a pump.
This application is used when the hot and cold fluids are located far away from each other and not
easily accessible.
Economizers
Used in boiler systems an economizer is used to pre heat the boiler water or combustion air using
the flue gas, in low to medium temperatures. These are used in domestic cases as well as in large
factories. They can increase the net thermal efficiency of a boiler by up to 15%.
Waste heat recovery boilers
They are ordinary water tube boilers in which the hot exhaust gases pass over a number of parallel
tubes containing water. The water is vaporized in the tubes and collected in a steam drum from
which it is drawn out for use as heating or processing steam.
Shell and tube heat exchangers
If the medium containing waste heat is a liquid or a vapor and is needed to heat another liquid both
paths must be sealed to contain the pressures of the respective fluids. The shell contains the tube

Capulet and Romeo s mother, and then the feud begins when she runs off with Lord Montague,
so in the generation before the play takes place, a feud erupts. Then, during the play Romeo and
Juliet (a young Montague and a young Capulet) fall in love and get married. The feud is still

Spinal Cord Protection Strategies for Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair With an incidence
once as high as 40%, spinal cord paralysis in thoracoabominal procedures has declined, however,
still remains a devastating threat post surgery (Roman, Grewal, Taylor, Grigore, 2014). Modern
techniques for repair of thoracic aneurysms and dissections include an open incision with
extracorporeal bypass and aortic clamping. This surgical procedure puts patients at great risk for
spinal cord paralysis. Open procedures required meticulous reimplantation of intercostal blood
vessels, deep hypothermic cardiac arrest, epidural cooling, and various pharmacologic
interventions. As surgical technique has advanced to percutaneous endograft repair, most of these
techniques are no longer needed. However, the incidence of paralysis is still prevalent in patients
having a TEVAR procedure. Naloxone, an opioid antagonist, has been studied as an additional
pharmacologic adjunct in the prevention of spinal cord paralysis (Roman, Grewal, Taylor,
Grigore, 2014). Spinal cord injury can be multifactorial and a review of the literature indicates for
patients undergoing endovascular repair of thoracic aneurysms, the use of multiple spinal cord
protection strategies collectively reduce spinal cord injury compared to the use of naloxone as a
primary measure.

There is reason behind the fact that Canada s atlantic region reaps the highest price average. The
population of canada s Atlantic region has decreased significantly in the past years. Statistics
Canada quotes the Atlantic provinces population growth remains significantly lower than
elsewhere, and has been close to zero since the late 1990s . With the population decreasing in
these provinces, the prices of imported products such as Nutella would increase. As learned in
class, the less consumers there are to support the market, the higher the price will be.To add to
this sudden dilemma, The import taxes to the atlantic provinces are the highest in Canada. Nova
Scotia s provincial rate for import taxes is a staggering 10% in comparison to Ontario with 8%.
The territories combined have an import rate of 0%! On that note, it is observed that the Central
region has the lowest prices in all of Canada. Most of citizens of the Atlantic provinces have
immigrated to the central region to places such as Toronto and Montreal. The population of Ontario
is 12,851,821 people while the combined population of the Atlantic provinces is 2,327,638
people. There is another reason why the central region seems to be the hub for nutella. According to
the official Ferrero Canada website, in 1974 Ferrero Canada, first opened for business in Toronto,
Ontario. Not only that, but in October 2006, Ferrero opened a new manufacturing plant in

Some additional information includes, that according to Stella Ting Toomey s Home on the Web,
Dr. Ting Toomey has held major leadership roles in international communication associations and
has served on more than fifteen editorial boards ( Stella ). To further explain the theory of Face
Negotiation, when Dr. Ting Toomey suggests conflict is a consequence of identity management on
an individual and cultural level, she means that culture has a significant impact in regards to
identity management. One s culture has defined rules as to how someone is to properly interact
amongst other individuals and groups, and these rules include values, norms, beliefs and traditions.
Generally, an individual would strive to adhere and follow all of their culture s rules, and in turn,
would view another individual turning against those rules as a threat to their overall culture or
beliefs. Similarly, Dr. Ting Toomey states that conflict can come from a clash of these rules, a
misinterpretation, or as a result of misapplying certain expectations and standards for behavior for a
given situation (Griffin List ). The Face Negotiation theory suggests there are three goals that any
conflict will revolve around; content, relational and identity, or rather, needs, interests or goals.

and economic legacies (Collins, Jones, Munday, 2009). In the recent decade, several significant
mega sports events took place which related to issues of environmental impacts, sustainability and

37. Watergate Vs. Kwamegate Scandal
Political leaders will always be talked about no matter what kind of world we are living in. The
way they are talked about in the media, however, can make or break their careers as leaders of
our country. President Nixon most likely did not want to go down as the president that was apart
of one of the biggest political scandals the country has ever seen, and Kwame Kilpatrick did not
want to be seen as the mayor that lead to the city of Detroit filing for bankruptcy in 2013. Not
everyone gets their way, unfortunately, and these two politicians will most likely go down as the
most corrupt leaders in the areas of their jurisdictions. The Watergate and Kwamegate scandals have
very different backstories with some similarities, concern many Constitutional... Show more content

The media brought forth the political scandals to the people s attention and helped the federal
investigators take action. Several Constitutional issues were involved during both of the scandals
including Freedom of Press and executive privilege. Both scandals lead to the inevitable
downfall of a political leader in the area or affluence, but both leaders also had different ways of
benefiting themselves. Watergate will go down as one of the biggest political scandals in the
history of the United States, and Kilpatrick will go down as the mayor that caused Detroit to file
for bankruptcy. However, both leader s thought they were helping their area of jurisdiction by

38. Psalm 23 Sermon On The Mount
In the bible, people read it often and most of them like to share scriptures that they think is very
important to them because it gets stuck deep down in people s minds. When it gets stuck, that is
when people come out of their comfort zone to reach out to others and read the portions. Psalms
23 and The Sermon on the Mount are one of these scriptures that get stuck deep down in people s
minds. These two found in the Bible, are known for the Shepard of the people, relating to the Lord.

39. Athleticism And Athleticism
In American culture, athleticism and strength play a pivotal role in the way that people view one
another. Athleticism is viewed as more desirable and important, while artistic abilities tend to be
frowned upon by the public. Some people experience both sides of the stigma around being
athletic, such as playing tennis while being a member of the marching band. Likewise, a school
could give more funding to a popular sport over another, regardless of either team s actual skill.
Those on the wrong side are treated worse than those star athletes in more popular sports, such as
football or basketball. In JockCulture, author Robert Lipsyteexplores the effect of preferential
treatment of athletes, its effect on society, and the multitude of ways he has observed as a sports
writer. Likewise, author Brad Manning exposes his relationship with athleticism and the arts in,
Arm Wrestling With my Father , and explains the effect of competition on his relationship with his
father. This culture can be seen in every level of education, within professional athletics and home
lives, but is toxic no matter the setting. The expectations and concepts of athleticism in today s
society can divide or unite people, while stereotypes shape the way we live and communicate with
one another. Children quickly learn to fit in one should be athletic or at the very least interested in
sports. The lack of interest may divide and has the potential to create conflict. Two girls may join a
tennis team

40. Symbolism In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
The short fictional novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde tells the tale of a
dedicated London lawyer named Gabriel Utterson who searches for truth after a close friend of his
named Henry Jekyll, gradually spirals downward, committing unspeakable acts of violence and
depravity following his first ingestion of a mystical potion. Utterson must uncover the buried
secrets kept by the withdrawn doctor and childhood friend before it is too late, while also
investigating the puzzling murder of a respected senator and former client of his. Prominent themes
in the book such as the polarization of the human psyche, the paradoxical effect of silence and the
inherent, thinly veiled darkness that lies in commercial centers and popular cities... Show more

Hyde s physical appearance, the symbolism of the lab connecting to Dr. Jekyll s home, and the
symbolism of the mystical potion taken by Dr. Jekyll all help convey the powerful themes that
transcend the book. First and foremost, Mr. Hyde s physical appearance described by those that
have seen him commit horrible atrocities signifies his alternate or dual personality as he crosses
societal boundaries. Transformed from a tall, revered and affluent doctor, to a shorter hairier
uglier looking figure, Dr Jekyll represents the part of society most of us try to embrace while his
more nefarious counterpart represents the greatest fears of society a killer without a motive
who feels euphoric and rejuvenated after slaying innocent prey. The lab that connects Dr. Jekyll
s home to his lab also allows readers to acknowledge the vastly different personalities that a
person may have. After having its door broken down, this same lab illustrates that secrets cannot
be kept indefinitely, especially those that regard personality and there will eventually come a
time when a victor is chosen between the aforementioned good and evil combating inside an
individual s head. The potion that is discovered to have helped transform Dr. Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde could represent a plethora of external and internal catalysts. Today, substances like drugs
and alcohol may have a similar effect to the potion taken by Dr. Jekyll. Internal factors like greed
and gluttony could also symbolize the potion s effect on the mind and body. Many of the listed
substances don t create something that isn t already there; rather they expose our conscious and
subconscious desires and in some cases amplify them. This is where genetics and natural, inherent
proclivities come into play, making certain behavior like smoking and drinking enticing. These can
sometimes reveal our true nature. Dr. Jekyll longed for true freedom and through the simple intake
of a potion he was able to attain a

increase blood flow, increase heart rate which preps the cardiovascular system for work, decreases
muscle tension, and enhances the connective tissues ability to elongate. There are three types of
warm ups, passive raising the body temperature through an external source such as a hot shower or
heating pad, a general warm up movement not directly related to the activity usually some form of
