Videogames have evolved significantly since their inception in the 1970s. While many older generations believe that videogames are harmful, studies have shown they can provide cognitive benefits like improved problem-solving skills and memory. Videogames may enhance hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and focus through gameplay. However, excessive videogame use of over 8 hours per day has also been linked to increased risk of health issues like depression and chronic bronchitis. Overall, videogames can offer advantages for learning but also present disadvantages if not played in moderation.

such as a joystick, keyboard, controller, or a
touch sensor screen (Mobile Gaming). The first

In 1972 was created the iconic game called
“Pong”, which is still popular over the world.
3. What people think
• More than 70% of people from elder generations say
that videogames harm people and make them to
lose memory, concentration, cause some diseases,
etc. . But actually, every game isn’t created only
for entertaining, it also improves a certain skill
that a person has. For example, games can teach
person how to be more accurate or how to save
time and not waste it instead.
In the past, people thought and some of them still
think that video games are nothing but just a waste
of time. However, these days games are starting to
gain a respectable reputation as a form of
entertainment.

• There are many reasons to play videogames. They can be a great
way to spend time with friends and family, they can encourage
exercise, and they have helped people learn new skills that have
been very useful in their everyday lives. Here are some ways that
games have been known to improve various aspects of life:
It is a common mistake that gaming has no benefits. In reality,
videogames can be a great way for people to learn new skills and
to practice in an environment that is a lot less stressful than the
real world. It has been proven that playing videogames in which
you have to solve problems and think critically can actually make
you smarter! All of the mental stimulation involved in playing
games has been known to improve memory, focus, and problem
solving skills.
Gaming is a form of exercise that many people enjoy. Videogames
require rapid reflexes and good hand-eye coordination to play
well. People who play games regularly will find that they have
better balance when it comes to real life activities such as sports
or dance.
5. • Action and shooting games make the player think more, to
have good reflexes, as it is required for being accurate and
concentrated, to not get defeated by the opponent and win
the game. Some kinds of games even teach the player to
analyze before making a move, to choose the right character
or the right strategy before they do a certain operation. In
addition, people can improve their grammar, reading,
speaking, and listening skills of a certain language by playing
games. For example, in most online games there is a voice
chat or a text chat that allows people all over the world to
to communicate, make acquaintances and become friends.
People can talk with other players from other countries. For
example, when a Spanish person plays an online game and if
he's on the same server with an American player, they can
simply talk to each other and improve their language skills
for both English and Spanish.
