-SELF AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE REPORT-
Day-01: 01.05.2024
1. Overview of the Self and Social Development Course: Self and social development is about
improving the well-being of every individual in society including us so all can reach their full
potential. Social development means investing in people.
2. Theme: Cleanliness awareness or Swachta Abhiyan.
3. Title/s of the Activities Conducted: A) Cleanliness Awareness Rally & Cleanliness
Campaign in nearby areas.
B) Guest Lecture on Health & Hygiene.
4. Objectives of the Activity: The main objective is to make society about cleanliness around them.
Cleanliness is important because it builds up a healthy environment that facilitates physical and
mental well-being and growth.
5. Details of the Activity:
Venue: - HNBGU (B.G.R Campus Pauri)
Activity Date: - 01 May 2024
Audience: - Students & Faculty members.
Chief guest: - Dr. Rekha Naithani
Total Students attended: - More than 80
On 1 May 2024. “Self And Social Development program started on our college campus which was
chiefly organised by Dr. Lhamu Dukpa and Dr. Kiran Bala. The program started at 10:30 with a
morning session. Then we started the session in which all the students were divided into 5
groups and 2 teachers were also allotted to each of them. This is how our program ended
successfully.
6. Scope of the Activity concerning Society/Country: Similar to the essentials of life like food, water,
and shelter, cleanliness also holds great significance in life. It is, in fact, one of the most important
things for healthy living. The first and foremost importance of cleanliness is that it means the
absence of disease. Cleanliness helps us stay refreshed and hygienic on a personal level.
Lessons learned: We learned that we should always keep ourselves and our surroundings clean for
a better future. And teamwork makes every difficult task easy like a play.

Day-2: 02.05.2024
1. Overview of the Self and Social Development Course: Self and social development is about
improving the well-being of every individual in society including us so all can reach their
full potential. *Social development means investing in people*
2. Theme: Environment Awareness OR Pryavaran Jagrukta.
3. Title/s of the Activities Conducted: A) Awareness rally from the Art block to the forest
department.
B) Interaction with DFO & Forest Officials;
Cleanliness Drive in Kandoliya Nagdev Road.
4. Objectives of the Activity: The main objective is to encourage the students and other social
groups to acquire knowledge of pollution and environmental degradation. To make students
and other social groups acquire sensitivity to the environment and its problems and help them
acquire a set of values for environmental protection, To make surroundings clean and greener
for the current and future generations.
5. Details of the Activity:
Venue: - HNBGU (B.G.R Campus Pauri)
Activity Date: - 02 May 2024
Audience: - Students & Faculty members.
Chief guest: - DFO Mr. Swapnil Anirudh & NGO members.
Total Students attended: - More than 80
On 02 May 2024, “The second day of the self and social development course was held on our
college campus, chiefly Organised by Dr. PP Badoni and Dr. Kiran Bala. The started at 10:30 AM
with a morning season, Then we started the session and our Campus director Dr. P.P Badoni
flagged off the rally from the art block to the forest department on Nagdev Road. At the forest
department, we met the DFO Mr. Swapnil Anirudh and other officials. DFO sir asked us some
questions and told us why forest fires are becoming a major issue nowadays. After this
interaction, the forest area was divided among five groups the area from Buwakhal to the forest
department Nagdev. We cleaned the area so that the forest did not catch fire.
The area were divided as:
A. Gangotri: - Under 1km
B. Nilkhant: - 1km-2km
C. Trishul: - 2km-3km
D. Nanada: - 3km-4km
E. Chaukhamba: - 4km-5km
After cleaning, we had a valedictory session, in which the chief guest & some NGO members told
us about their careers and conflicts and women's empowerment then Dr. Naveen Chandra and
Dr. Kiran Bala thanked the guests for their presence and also thanked us.
6. Scope of the Activity concerning Society/Country: Environmental management is very wide in
scope and includes all the technical, economic, and other aspects of the environment
7. Lessons learned: Forests are very important to us as they provide large amounts of oxygen and
absorb carbon dioxide they also prevent soil erosion to provide habitats for animals and
livelihood for humans, the forest also offers watershed protection.

Day-3: 03.05.2024
1. Overview of the Self and Social Development Course: Self and social development is about

2. Theme: Women Empowerment OR Mahila Sashaktikaran.
3. Title/s of the Activities Conducted: A) Awareness Rally from Art Block to Ramleela Ground
B) Interaction with Community, Cultural Programmes &
Valedictory Session.
4. Objectives of the Activity: The main objective is creating social awareness about the problem of
women, gender equality, and prevention of social harassment. To educate the girl child on
women-specific health issues and measures to be taken. To develop the self-confidence of
women in building their capacity. To identify and promote the strong leadership and growth of
women as individuals in their own rights.
5. Details of the Activity:
Venue: - HNBGU (B.G.R Campus Pauri)
Activity Date: - 03 May 2024
Audience: - Students & Faculty members.
Chief guest: - Mr. Ganesh Baluni
Total Students attended: - More than 80
On 03 May 2024 “3RD
and last day of self and social development course” was held on our
college campus which was chiefly organised by Dr. Gautam Kumar and Dr. Kiran Bala. The
program started at 10:30 AM with a morning session. Then we started the sessions and Dr.
Kiran Bala instructed us to start the rally from the art block to Ramlila ground, our campus
director Dr. P.P Badoni flagged off the rally. After reaching Ramlila ground we took a short
break after the program started by Dr. Gautam Kumar, a small presentation on local millet was
done by the children, and after that a play was performed and women harassment, and then
the children threw light on some important articles, including article 14,15,17,18,21 and WRIT.
Moving forward Dr. Aman, Dr. Vipul, and campus director Dr. P.P Badoni on the stage to share
their views on the self and social development program which took place in the last 3 days.
Then the chief guest told us about Ajeem Prem ji and his library, in Pauri, in the end, Dr.
Gautam thanked the chief guest & children and bid them farewell.
This is how our SSD program ended successfully.
6. Lessons learned: We learned that women’s improved access to and control over economic
resources and their increased economic opportunities, together with a high agency and ability
to influence and exercise decision-making.

Objectives of the Activity: The main objective is creating social awareness about the problem of women, gender equality, and prevention of social harassment. To educate the girl child on women-specific health issues and measures to be taken. To develop the self-confidence of women in building their capacity. To identify and promote the strong leadership and growth of women as individuals in their own rights. 5.   • 8. On 03 May 2024 “3RD and last day of self and social development course” was held on our college campus which was chiefly organised by Dr. Gautam Kumar and Dr. Kiran Bala. The program started at 10:30 AM with a morning session. Then we started the sessions and Dr. Kiran Bala instructed us to start the rally from the art block to Ramlila ground, our campus director Dr. P.P Badoni flagged off the rally. After reaching Ramlila ground we took a short break after the program started by Dr. Gautam Kumar, a small presentation on local millet was done by the children, and after that a play was performed and women harassment, and then the children threw light on some important articles, including article 14,15,17,18,21 and WRIT. Moving forward Dr. Aman, Dr. Vipul, and campus director Dr. P.P Badoni on the stage to share their views on the self and social development program which took place in the last 3 days. Then the chief guest told us about Ajeem Prem ji and his library, in Pauri, in the end, Dr. Gautam thanked the chief guest & children and bid them farewell. This is how our SSD program ended successfully. 6. Lessons learned: We learned that women’s improved access to and control over economic resources and their increased economic opportunities, together with a high agency and ability to influence and exercise decision-making. 7.
