Autism Language Disorder
Introduction The primary focus of this paper is in regards to language disorders in children with
Autism Spectrum Disorder. ASD is a developmental disorder, according to the DSM 5 diagnostic
criteria, that is characterized by persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction
across multiple contexts, as well as restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviors, interests, or activities.
This disorder is present in the early developmental period. Specifically, regarding social interaction, a
child with this diagnosis may have deficits in social emotional reciprocity, nonverbal communicative
behaviors for social interaction, and in developing, maintaining, and understanding relationships
(2013). One of the key diagnostic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Assessment Language assessment is necessary for Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to identify the
areas of language that the client is struggling with, so that the most beneficial treatment plan for their
needs can be determined. Also, assessment is important because early language skills in this
population are key predictors of future language outcomes. It s imperative to consider investigating
the early stages of language and communicative development in very young children with ASD for
this reason. In regards to measuring early language skills in clients with Autism, generally this is done
by both standardized tests and parent reports such as questionnaires or interviews. Both approaches
offer valuable information about a child s linguistic skills and provide important information to predict
later language outcomes. Various types of standardized tests and parent reports can be used to assess a
child s receptive and or expressive language skills. For this reason, it s important to understand the
various options, and the impact on the results these types of tests may have. Rhiannon J. Luyster and
her colleagues (2008) examined various assessment procedures and their influences on the outcome of
the assessment. One assessment included the Mullen Scales of Early Learning which is a test used to
assess the developmental functioning of

Analysis Of Queen By Audrey Flack
Queen, by Audrey Flack is a very captivating piece of artwork. It was painted in 1976, originally
Audrey Flack took a picture and then used it as the basis for this painting. Queen is a painting of box
that is full of special mementos. It has features such as a quarter of an open orange, a rose, a pocket
watch, a queen playing card, a locket of an older and a younger woman, lip balm, perfume, a chess
piece, blush, and a chain necklace with the letter F on it. The painting almost looks like a vanity
drawer or a keepsake drawer. However, realizing the fruits and flower in the painting I understood it to
be a collection of the artist s memories as opposed to a drawer. Audrey Flack was demonstrating the
many things that were significant to her while aging. Queen signifies the fight against time. It shows
that no matter what possessions you retain it will not keep you young. No one can win the battle
against time.
I am going to describe every element in the painting while analyzing every element as well. I will
show why I believe the objects and elements in the painting point towards my thesis of how the Queen
is expressing a fight against time. First off, the games. The card of queen and the chess piece are both
mementos from the artist s childhood, showing she grew up playing games. Something significant
about the queen playing card is its femininity. Why specifically the queen as opposed to any other
card? I think it addresses the phase the artist went through as a child

Coast Guard Uniform
Choosing the Coast Guard Academy is profoundly due to the fact that I have a willingness to serve my
country, and the training provided giving me the readiness for any situation at any given time. The
more dedication that I as a cadet will strive to achieve will allow me to get the best possible
experience that the Academy has to offer. The faithfulness along with countless hours the Cadets and
Officers spend planning and preparing for any situation that may come their way, gives them the
readiness to answer the call when presented. This itself shows to me that they are eager to take on the

Contribution Of Accountancy On Sustainable Development

Racial Discrimination And Gender Discrimination
Discrimination is an ongoing problem that exists in many forms and is often studied by social
psychologists. According to Bordens and Horowitz (2014), discrimination is defined as overt behavior
often negatively directed toward a particular group and often tied to prejudicial attitudes which
involves behaving in different ways toward members of different groups (p. 106). Although
discriminatory behaviors have seemed to simmer down over the past decades, individuals still to this
day continue to face discrimination based on characteristics such as their race, religion, age, gender,
and sexual orientation. My paper focuses on three studies about gender discrimination, or sexism.
These studies target gender discrimination in the workplace, people s perceptions and levels of
supportiveness towards situations which entail gender discrimination, and factors that influence their
perceptions. The first portion of the paper consists of summaries of the articles while the second
section includes an analysis of these studies. In one study conducted by Hess (2013), mock job
interviews were completed with female college students to investigate nonverbal gender
discrimination. The hypothesis was that experienced interviewers would show more unfavorable
behaviors towards women applying for a masculine, or incongruent, job and more favorable behaviors
towards those interviewing for job that is considered to be feminine, or congruent. The researchers
believed that inexperienced

Bilateral Vs. Unilateral Contracts
Esmeralda Aguayo Bus 18 Term Paper Bilateral vs. unilateral contracts As mentioned in The Legal
Environment of Business by Don Mayer, Daniel M. Warner, George J. Siedel, and Jethro K.
Lieberman, a contract can be defined as a legally binding agreement. The requirements of a contract
include an agreement meaning tan offer that has been accepted, consideration which is something of
value, legal purpose defined as the requirement that the consideration matter be legal, proper form
which is the requirement that certain contracts be in writing, and two or more competent parties. When

Frederick Roe who is the defendant and the proprietor of The Carbolic Smoke Ball , placed an
advertisement and promised to pay $100 to anyone who used the Carbolic Smoke Ball for two weeks.
Mrs. Louise Carlill did both and sued to recover her $100, as was promised by Frederick Roe. Carlill
stated that some arguments on the advertisement were not accurately reported. It was also seen that
Carlill had not used the smoke ball correctly or even get influenza which was also one of the
requirements in order to receive the $100. At the court, Carbolic Smoke Ball Co brought up many
legal issues in regards to contract law. One of the claims was that the advertisement was an open door
to treat and that it was too popular in order for the advertisement to be an offer. Furthermore, in a
bilateral contract the acceptance of the offer needs to be communicated and ad seen Carlill never did
that. The court rejected most of these arguments and continued that there was a contract. Moreover,
communication is not necessary since this case has to do with a unilateral contract. Acceptance and
consideration as mentioned is something of value could be establish in the caser of Mrs. Carlill since

North Korea s Six-Party Talks
We cannot ignore [the North Koreans], because they will not us ignore them said Stephen Bosworth,
U.S. Ambassador to South Korea from 1997 to 2000 (Perle et al., n.d.). He is referring to the ongoing
efforts of the North Koreans developing their nuclear program and their attempts to getting what they
want, be it money, food, resources, etc. (Chanlett Avery, Rinehart, Nikitin, 2016). With approximately
six to eight nuclear weapons and the fact that it did not sign a Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty,
without a doubt, North Korea is a significant threat to both the United States and her interests
(Chanlett Avery, Rinehart, Nikitin, 2016). The United States recent policy of strategic patience has
been largely ineffective. Strategic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the 1994 Agreed Framework, signed on October 21, 1994, was agreement for North Korea to
freeze and replace its nuclear proliferation program with light water reactors, which provide nuclear
power. In addition, the agreement urged both the United States and North Korea to work towards more
diplomatic relations. Also, North Korea was expected to accept the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty,
which included visits from the International Atomic Energy Agency to ensure compliance. While not a
perfectly stable contract, the agreement effectively froze North Korea s nuclear proliferation program
and thus prevented the production of many nuclear weapons. Partially as a result of the Agreed
Framework, North Korea does not have as many nuclear weapons as more developed countries as the
North Koreans were not able to develop their nuclear program during the eight years of the Agreed
Framework. Surprisingly, it was the United States who suspended its obligations under the agreement
when it found out that North Korea was developing a centrifuge program. The centrifuge program
technically did not violate the Agreed Framework, however, it alarmed the United States, enough so
that it suspended the Agreed Framework. The significance of the Agreed Framework is simply the
idea that North Korea can be dealt with diplomatically as it has been done in the past. With a few

Morality Of Chaucer In The Nun s Tale And Flush
With varying narrators in both the Nun s Priest s Tale and Flush, the moral extracted from the text
comes to be more interpretive previously was the case in Henryson s work. Henryson presented short,
simple stories that explicitly told you what the purpose of the story was, giving you the meaning that
he wanted you to take. As J. Allan Mitchell stated medieval exemplary narratives serve as guide to
personal deliberation and action (3). Identically to Henryson, Chaucer at the end of the Nun s Priest s
Tale gives a moral conclusion, where through the Nun s Priest, he states the supposed moral of the
tale;
Allas! Ye lords, many a fals flatour Is in your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, morality gets drawn from both Flush and the Nun s Priest s Tale, however, little
significance is placed on the ethical preaching s of the texts. The purpose (Mitchell, 17) not restricted
to moral lessons, in fact purpose is not required at all. When Virginia Woolf first began Flush, she
intended the biography merely for the amusement of one of the Bloomsbury group (Smith, 356).
While the text clearly grew in meaning during its creation, its inception was purposeless, especially in
with regards to morality. Morality was always going to be secondary in Flush as the book is all about
innovation. Like most modernist, Woolf was always trying to be innovative and different in her work.
While, the dog memoir pre exists Flush, Woolf radically wrote the novella from the perspective of the
dog, emphasising his point of view over all else (Smith, 352). Most brilliantly, Woolf gave Flush an
almost human understanding all the while remaining specifically distinct from his owners. Take for
example Flush s understanding of his class as a dog. Class is a human, racial, and economic creation
which Flush understands in his own way; Flush knew before the summer had passed that there is no
equality among dogs: some dogs are high dogs; some are low (Woolf, 19). This specific human
understanding coupled with his human relief when he realises

Repercussions In Sports
This article focuses on the severity of contact sport related injuries, more specifically head injuries and
concussions. This has been a hot top throughout many different professional organizations and it is
often discussed how each organization should handle these types of injuries. More recently they have
began to administer tests before each season so that when a head related injury occurs, team doctors
can more easily determine whether or not the athlete should return to the field and when the
appropriate time to do so is. Since the repercussions of allowing an athlete to return to quickly to play
can leave long term consequences, professional, college, and even high school teams have begun to
take these injuries more seriously by administering these tests. These tests are given before the season
starts ensuring that there has been no injury to the athletes head. After the season starts, if there is
some type of injury related to the head the athlete is given the test at three different times. These times
are 24 hours after injury, 5 days after injury and 10 days after injury. For the most part, the athletes are
back at their original test results from before the season started, during the 5 to 10 day span after the
injury occurred. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dear Hamlet,
I thought I would be able to bottle up all of these emotions but it seems I cannot bear it any longer; I
must let it all out. I must tell you, Hamlet, that living in this mad world is driving me to the brink of
insanity. I am just so fed up with going about every single day persuading myself that I had ought to
ignore it all and simply, sweetly smile. But why should I? Why should I sit around and let the likes of
men like you order me around any longer? Yes Lord this, yes Lord that! Who do all of you men think

What sense does this make? Such a thought makes me tremble in utter disbelief. How could you have
committed such a crime and not feel any sense of shame or guilt? Had you not any thought or

You didn t, did you since you did not think twice to confirm who it was behind the arras. I am curious,
Hamlet, for what reason did you do such a terrible thing? What has he ever done to deserve such a
foul fate? Has he wronged you in any way? All he has done is loyally serve your family yet this is
what he receives in return! It overwhelms me with great sadness.
Moreover, not only have I lost my father, but it seems I have lost you as well, both mentally and
physically. Following our separation, I still loved you Hamlet. But you, who pushed me away and
branded me as damaged goods, have broken my fragile heart, have killed my father, someone who
truly cared for me despite his demands, and have left me in utter despair. Oh it feels as if my world is
suddenly falling apart! I cannot go to you, Hamlet, for your hands are stained with my father s blood
and as of late, I can hardly speak to you as your mind seems to have plummeted to the depths of
insanity! Yet at the same time, despite everything that has happened, I find myself unable to leave you

The Bible Is Full Of Wisdom And Folly
The Bible is full of wisdom and folly. This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in
Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will
concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was written
by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have been written
by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance, regardless of their age.
Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their vices. The main theme of the
book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs. Ecclesiastes main theme is life
without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are a lot of contrasting chapters and
verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish, the wicked and righteous and the
lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the contrasts between evil and good and
foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and relate the concepts, describe and compare
them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish).
In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is
a level highway (ESV). This saying corroborates the points of Proverbs concerning the directives that
diligence is the way of the wise and the path with less resistance. But the path of laziness is
foolishness and filled with trouble,

having one of the top competing teams, Brazil will also be hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The 31

Since this change there has been a significant increase in drug related offences, a problem that the
public health department has been unable to control. The parties and the festivities of the World Cup
will be sure to increase illegal drug sales and consumption, without the funding to keep the issue
under control. The money the nation is giving to FIFA for the World Cup could be used to better train
law enforcement officials and establish security programs that would keep citizens safe. Brazil has
become a nation that cannot provide the proper security for its citizens, but is quick to hand over 3.5
billion dollars to refurbish sports stadiums. Law enforcement and police training aren t the only areas
where Brazil is lacking an education. Brazil was ranked 53rd in an international study of education
systems, an accurate placing due to the amount of children receiving a low level education, or no
education at all. In the poorer regions of Brazil, children receive a lower level of education due to the
lack of amenities and resources. Children in wealthier cities receive much better schooling because the
education system is based on the area the students live in. This inequality causes some children to feel
like school isn t worth their time, and instead spend their days at home or working in a child labor job.
Attendance issues have been a result of poverty, many malnourished children don t attend school

Renewable Sources Of Energy As Being Sustainable.it
This essay seeks to identify a number of challenges which are encountered when trying to identify
what a sustainable source of energy is. To do this, it first briefly states ways in which the term
sustainable energy has been interpreted by various bodies and individuals and ways in which people
seek to identify an energy source which is truly sustainable. This essay seeks to point out the flaw in
classifying all renewable sources of energy as being sustainable. It will achieve this by comparing two
energy related projects, proving how sustainable a non renewable source can be and vice versa. Lastly,
it will prove ways in which different people s misconceptions can affect further progress with these
energy related projects.
A number of suitable definitions of sustainable energy run through this essay. Sustainable Energy has
been defined as; A living harmony between the equitable availability of energy services to all people
and the preservation of the earth for future generations (Tester, Drake, Driscoll, Golay, Peters, 2005).
This from my own point of view is the most accurate definition by far. Pointedly, it is in contrast with
a number of definitions; for example this one by Denzil Walton stating that; Sustainable energy is
regarded as the system of producing, transporting, distributing and consuming energy in a way that
promotes a reduction in the rate of consumption of non renewable resources which lead to
environmental degradation while providing at socially

A Crime Against Humanity
Crimes against humanity is a deliberate act resulting in a large number of human suffering or death.
Incidents like this have happened many times in this world and are still happening today. Since the
beginning of these crimes there has been controversy on whether or not other countries should
intervene in other countries affairs when it comes to crimes against humanity. The main reason is
protecting other countries sovereignty. They don t want to take over their right to self determination
and their right to govern themselves and make their own decisions. However the other side to it is that
when it gets to the point of human suffering and death and becomes a crime against humanity
countries should intervene and save civilians lives. Countries should not be allowed to make their own
decisions after a crime against humanity has started. My position on this issue is that when a crime
against humanity has begun countries and the UN should intervene and put a stop to it. In 1937
300,000 soldiers and civilians were killed and almost 80,000 women were sexually assaulted, this was
the Nanking massacre. The Japanese just defeated the Chinese in a bloody battle and now they were
going after the capital Nanking. The leader of China was fearful of the Japanese as they were a strong
army so he ordered the army to flee and left the untrained army. The Japanese quickly took over and
tore the people and city to ruins. The Japanese saw the Chinese surrender as cowardice and an

Examples Of Classical Job Shop Scheduling Problem
1. Introduction The classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) is one of the major issues in
production planning that each operation is performed by the machine for finding completion time.
Machine is fixed and known in advance. The sequencing of all jobs is assigned on all machines. This
problem is developed method to find the answer more effective and widely. The flexible job shop
scheduling problem (FJSP) extended from the classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) that each
operation can be processed by any machine from a set of available machines at that time and effect to
flexible in the machine selection for more efficiency in the usage of the machine and without the delay
of waiting for production. Generally, the FJSP can be separated two sub problem; 1) a routing sub
problems that assignment each operation on any machine from a set of available machines 2) a
scheduling sub problems that sequencing of operation on each machine in a feasible schedule to

ideal amount of debt to carry (Credit Basics). Although 36% or less is ideal, Riordan should attempt to
lower the ratio a bit in order to stay at a reasonable rate.
PROFITABILITY RATIOS: OVERALL EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE
Table 4: Gross Profit Margin
Gross profit margin ratio will define an organizations financial health by revealing the proportion of
money left over from revenues after accounting for the cost of goods sold (Investopedia). The gross
profit margin literally measures how much of every dollar of sales a company is able to actually keep
(Answers, 2009).
The table below shows the gross profit margin for Riordan for 2004 and 2005:
2005 2004 Gross profit $8,786,061 17% $8,564,238 19%
Net sales $50,823,685 $46,044,288
Riordan had a gross profit margin of 17% in 2005 and 19% in 2004 meaning that the company has a
net income of 17 cents for every dollar compared to 19 cents in 2004. Looking at the earnings of a
company does not tell the whole story and the decrease from 19% to 17% should grab the attention

The 18th Amendment of the Constitution
The 18th amendment of the constitution Prohibition was introduced to all American states apart from
Maryland in 1920. Prohibition was the banning of alcohol; you could be arrested for sale, manufacture
and transportation of alcohol. There were many factors that influenced the introduction of prohibition.
One of the main factors was the temperance movement s two examples of this Were the anti saloon
league and Women s Christian temperance movement. The temperance movements were at the
strongest in rural areas, they put pressure on state governments to introduce prohibition. They put
pressure on them by claiming the Damage to drinker s health. They also protested that the sale in
alcohol produced crime and disorder, poverty and distress, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There was a man named John Barleycorn that died from drinking too much alcohol. After that more
people began thinking that drinking alcohol was very dangerous and that it would cause diseases.
There also was a man named Dr. Benjamin Rush. He was a well known physician. He also wrote a
book in 1784, which taught that drinking little amounts of wine and beer would not harm you very
much, but drinking rum and whisky would cause death and diseases. Congress voted and approved of
the amendment in January 1919, and enacted it in to law as the National Prohibition Act of 1920. After
the Eighteenth Amendment was passed, Congress had to make a maximum amount of alcohol that
beverages could contain. They then passed the Volstead Act. This act was far more severe than anyone
expected. The Act put the maximum alcoholic content at 0.05 percent. By comparison, today s beers
have between 4 and 6 percent alcohol, 100 times more than the Volstead Act allowed. Whiskey had
around 50 percent alcohol (Noble). Most people were very shocked at how low the act actually put the
alcohol limit. A Literary Digest poll taken in 1922 found that 40 percent of respondents favored
allowing light beer and wine. The poll also found that 62 percent of working men favored lenient
enforcement of prohibition (Noble). Prohibition was a main topic of discussion for politics.
Presidential candidates were either wet or dry. Wet meant that

Essay about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Many women that become pregnant are unaware of the consequences of drinking alcohol during
pregnancy and the damaging effects it has on the fetus. When a woman who is pregnant drinks
alcohol, the baby is also drinking alcohol. Furthermore, the amount of alcohol that is consumed by the
mother is the same amount the baby receives through the mother s placenta. Many doctors advise that
it is okay for the mother to have an occasional drink, however, some women cannot stop at one drink,
and they continue to drink in excess throughout their pregnancy. Still, even moderate consumption of
alcohol is not wise, because it is still unknown how much alcohol the fetus is able to tolerate without
potential harm. Consequently, a fetus that has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the last trimester of pregnancy, the fetus lungs and liver are maturing, and the unborn baby s
liver is unable to handle any level of alcohol. At these stages it is critical for the mother to refrain from
drinking alcohol, in order to ensure the health of the baby. Some effects to the fetus of drinking
alcohol during pregnancy are: prenatal growth retardation, specifically, facial deformities, and a
tendency to be smaller in weight, length, and head circumference. In addition, alcohol causes
neurodevelopment defects and central nervous system dysfunction to the unborn baby. FAS infants are
also at an increased risk for many common birth defects, including congenial heart disease,
abnormalities of the urinary tract and genitals, and spina bifida. Although these abnormalities are not
specific to FAS, they do assist in the diagnosis of the problem.
Many recent studies are claiming that alcohol damages some parts of the brain more than others,
targeting particular biochemical pathways vital to the development, function, migration, and survival
of certain nerve cells. Further research is being done to help find ways that will block some of alcohol
s harmful effects on the fetus. One study has identified specific effects on molecules that regulate
development and others that participate in cell signaling (Christensen 3). The cell adhesion

Kipling s Feelings About The Government
Kipling in his writing shows several hints about how he feels about the government; the first obvious
notice is this, The politics of Loaferdom that sees things from the underside where the lath and plaster
is not smoothed off. He s hinting at the connotation that there are imperfections within the system that
some can see. Kiplings narrative not only shows a personal opinion, but also what some people would
contradict him with. Take Peachey and Dravot for instance, who one not only said in a connotative
way that he believes in is King, I greatly fear that my King is dead, and if I want a crown I must go

Trudging back to what the opinion is on different classes, later in the story the main character

INTRODUCTION: An exoskeleton suit is designed to grant support, aid and defense for the human

technologies for military use to help soldiers with a bit of super human strength, medical exosuits are
the one which augments the human strength and speed ,and exoskeleton suits that offer hope for
paralyzed persons. This is achieved by providing feedback to the various joints of the upper limb

Common Symptoms and Damages of Measles Essay
The Latin name for measles is rubeola. The pathogen which causes the disease is a paramyxovirus,
which is one of a group of RNA (ribonucleic acid) viruses. Measles is a respiratory disease caused by
a virus, and also comes out in a rash. The virus enters the body via the respiratory system, and grows
in the cells at the back of the throat and in the cells that line the lungs, from there it then enters the
blood stream and circulates the body.
Common Symptoms
Usually a person doesn t start to get symptoms of measles until they have been infected with the virus
for 7 11 days. The symptoms are:
Runny nose
Dry hacking cough
Sore throat lymph nodes swell
Sneezing
Fever this can be mild or severe and can reach 105Fº ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(see image 1)
The symptoms usually last about 2 weeks in all.
Rare Symptoms
There are more serious symptoms of having mumps, but although these are more severe they are also
a lot less common.
The rare or uncommon symptoms include:
Encephalitis inflammation of the brain
Inflammation of the nervous system
Infection of the middle ear
A very high fever
Severe headache
Breathing difficulty
Long term damage disabilities
It is very important to immunise against this disease not only because it is a very contagious virus but
because it can have some very serious long term effects.
The most serious of these is obviously death, and people can and do die from measles; there are 1
million deaths worldwide caused by measles.
Also measles can cause deafness because of the inner ear infection.
Another long term damage of measles could be SSPE (Subacute Sclerosing Panencaphilitis). This can
occur 2 to 10 years after contracting the measles virus, this results in progressive neurological
deterioration because of brain inflammation.
Common side effects of the vaccine
Although it is very important to immunise against this disease, the vaccine does have side effects, and
no vaccine is completely safe. The Measles vaccine is given as part of the MMR vaccine, which
protects against measles, mumps and rubella. The common and less severe side effects are; fever; mild
rash; temporary pain or stiffness of joints,

Corruption In George Orwell s Animal Farm
In every society, power and regulation is necessary in ensuring an established population. Without
leaders who have jurisdiction and administrative power, chaos and disorder can break loose. However,
what if this power is given to leaders who will not stop the chaos, but only create it? What if the
possession of absolute power creates leaders who do not fear whether their people suffer, but instead
only fear the loss of their position as absolute? This idea, that power can corrupt, is prominent in the
Fairy Story, Animal Farm written by George Orwell. Though this idea is not expressed directly to
readers, Orwell s use of symbolism plays a major role in allowing readers to successfully understand
that power can corrupt. The building of Animal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, the purpose of building a windmill is to make the animals lives easier. Snowball argues of the
benefits a windmill would bring the animals, declaring that so much labor would be saved that the
animals would only need to work three days a week (Orwell, 33). Through this declaration, Snowball
argues that through the introduction of industrialization on the farm, the amount of strenuous labor the
animals experienced would decrease, allowing them to live easier lifestyles. However, as the story
progresses, and the animals workload only increases in order to build the windmill, readers are able to
understand that the benefits of the windmill and a lifestyle of ease will not be attained by all the
animals, but only by the pigs. All that year the animals worked like slaves. But they were happy in
their work, they grudged no effort or sacrifice, well aware that everything that they did was for the
benefit of themselves, and those of their kind who would come after them, and not for a pack of idle
thieving human beings (Orwell, 40). Through this quote, the animals express their feelings towards the
windmill, viewing it as a symbol of freedom from their human oppressors and their blind acceptance
of their current state of suffering. Believing that the windmills produce will someday benefit

The Supernatural Element Of William Shakespeare s Macbeth
What is interesting is what each supernatural element represents in Shakespeare s society and in our
current society. The supernatural elements in Macbeth include fate, the witches, mythological beings,
ghosts, and apparitions. I believe that the witches in Shakespeare s time, in the play and in real life,
represent the power of choice. The power to be able to decide to commit murder or any other heinous
act or decide to let things naturally happen shows the classic choice between good and evil, but the
witches themselves are not evil. While they are viewed as treasonous in this time, that is simply
because they were believed to be associated with the devil and a threat to the king. In reality, Macbeth
is the evil one because of his actions. I would even argue that Macbeth was the one who sealed his
unfortunate fate once the king was murdered. Because of the downward spiral Macbeth, and even
Lady Macbeth, faces after the murders, his eventual insanity proves that the act he committed was in
fact evil because of the repercussions he faced. The repercussions themselves could be viewed as evil
because the supernatural evil could prove to be a better sanctioning mechanism than a punishing god
(Martinez, 334). I think this is comparable to our society today because of how the belief in fate itself
constitutes the belief of karma, either good or bad, in that a person gets what he or she deserves.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, I think, got what they deserved in the end. Moreover,

As a non for profit organisation the product is a service. For this campaign the service remains the
same for both households. The intangible nature and people involvement can affect the quality of
service. To avoid service dissatisfaction branding will ensure consistent communication to the
households so that emotional connections are made to initiate information searches that lead to
donations. For example, the purple and yellow colours will be used in all communication, as well as
the logo. These stimuli should trigger emotions or feelings, beliefs and behavioural intentions towards
the charity (Quester et al., 2014, p. 338). Thus, conditioning the target to think of the charity when it
sees similar colours and influence purchasing/donating behaviours. Clear brand guidelines will also
guide staff training, tone of voice and personality of the campaign.

How Did Charles Darwin Impact Society

Charles Darwin
Many people get involved in negative aspects in life. Nowadays, it is all about violence and robberies.
To some people, the world is seen as a bad place to be because of all the negative minded people and
the impact they leave on others. Fortunately, not all people are negative minded; the world has good
people who do positive things to impact the world. In fact, Charles Darwin is a prime example of a
good person who made a positive impact on the world. Darwin signed to become a naturalist, came up
with the theory of evolution, and he also wrote a book, Origin of Species by Means of Natural
Selection explaining his life s work. It is important that people know and understand the importance of
Darwin and the theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. Darwin was an English naturalist.
According to an article, Darwin established that all species of life have descended over time from
common ancestors, and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted
from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect
to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. Darwin s theory of Evolution and Natural
Selection shows how humans developed from one stage to the next. According to the article Darwin s

Effectiveness Of The Rotavirus Vaccine Essay
Effectiveness of the rotavirus vaccine in New Zealand infants between 8 weeks and three years old
Abstract
Background. Rotavirus is a gastrointestinal illness characterized by vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach ache
and a fever. Children less than three years old are particularly at risk of dehydration from the sudden
vomiting and diarrhoea, which can require hospitalisation. A vaccine against rotavirus was
recommended globally by WHO in 2009, and it has recently been approved into the New Zealand
immunisation schedule. As yet there are no studies following the effectiveness of this vaccine since its
introduction using New Zealand study subjects specifically.
Methods. In this matched case control study, cases are infants between eight weeks and three years of
age who will be seen in a participating ED with rotavirus, confirmed with a positive rotavirus antigen
test, between November 2014 and November 2016 in New Zealand. For every case we will enrol 1 or
2 controls who are seen in the same ED without rotavirus and they will be matched for date of birth
(within two weeks) and date of visit to ED (within two weeks). Vaccine effectiveness will be
calculated by 1 minus the matched odds ratio, multiplied by 100 for the percentage. Aims
To measure the effectiveness of the new rotavirus vaccine against Emergency Department attendance,
or admission, for rotavirus in infants between 8 weeks and three years of age in New Zealand.
To try and measure the effectiveness of the vaccine

How Lewis Structures Are Constructed
Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone pairs
of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are constructed.
The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons
that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1 in
hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Non
valence electrons are not expressed.
Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms in
the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there are only
two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity.
After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of surrounding
atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has eight electrons in
its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all single bonds and ... Show

Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up with
only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need eight
valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons around them
instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra electrons. SF4 is an
example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10 valence electrons. This is
only possible with atoms that are in the third row of the periodic table or lower with unfilled d
orbitals. Therefore, exceptions can only occur in molecules that have odd numbers of electrons or with
atoms that have only the first energy level or empty

Introduction to Corrections 140
September 25, 2016
Jason Skeens Abstract
More often than not, if John Q. Public is asked the purpose or goals of our American correctional
system the reply is incapacitation, retribution, deterrence, and rehabilitation. However, what we are
really asking for our corrections system to do is to secure and supervise the individuals cast out of
society through the judicial process regardless of their individual needs and abilities. The purpose of
this particular study is focused on the management of special needs inmates and the burdens incurred
at various levels. For this study, special needs populations are defined as prisoners who exhibit unique
physical, mental, social, and programmatic needs that distinguish them from other prisoners and to
whom jail and prison management and staff have to respond in nontraditional and innovative ways
(Schmalleger Smykla 2013). The special needs populations included individuals suffering from mental
illness, drug and alcohol abuse and dependency, the elderly, sufferers of chronic and communicable
diseases, and physical disabilities. Keywords: corrections, special needs offenders, management

Who Shall Control Our Schools Summary
In the 1920s, there was a great debate over the changing of values in America. The jazz age had
erupted and with it, came new debates over what is best for the United States and it s children.
America was in a crisis, fighting between its victorian history and the new world of advertisement and
propaganda. One of the great debates during this time, was whether or not evolution should be taught
in public schools. The difference in ideals between the conservatives and those who were modern was
large. Most matters at this time had to do with the difference between church and state laws. Evolution
and creationism were two of the biggest issues brought up between state and church. In an effort to
keep evolution out of schools, the Butler Act was put into place on March 23rd, 1925. The Butler Act
was a law in Tennessee that made it illegal for public schools to teach evolution. The most famous
challenge of the Butler Act was during the Scopes Trial in July 1925. In this trial, the state of

The Importance Of Deep Ecology
Deep ecology is about always asking questions about human life, nature, and society.
Deep ecology is more meditative and goes beyond the factual scientific level, to the level of self and
Earth wisdom. It goes beyond a shallow approach to environmental problems. It articulates a
comprehensive religious and philosophical worldview, along with ecological consciousness.
Ecological consciousness and deep ecology contrast the technocratic industrial societies that isolate
humans from nature.
Over time Western culture has been obsessed with dominance. Humans over non humans, masculinity
over femininity, wealthy over poor, western over non western cultures. Deep ecological consciousness
allows us to see through the perception of this dangerous illusion. A dominant world view is centered
around maximizing and using natural resources for our destructive consumerist habits. Deep ecology
is about minimizing and finding harmony with nature.
Deep ecology means reflecting on ourselves. The search for deep ecological consciousness is the
search for an objective consciousness and state of active deep questioning and meditative process as a
way of life.
Arne Naess said that deep ecology is The shallow and the deep, long range ecology movement
This quote describes the deeper, spiritual approach to nature. This deeper approach allows us to be
more open and sensitive to ourselves and nonhuman life.

Nationalism And Perspectives Of People About Nation Can...
1. Ever wondered how nationalism and perspectives of people about nation can bring revolution in the
society?, First of all nationalism can be taken as both positive and negative ways. For instance, being
faithful to your country is acceptable but when you cross your limit in order to degrade another race,
culture or to show that you are the dominant one, that s when it becomes negative and delivers a
wrong message among other people. Phases of nationalism kept on changing as the time passed in
Europe. It all started in year 1800s and continued until World War II, where they saw all negative and
positive effects of nationalism. Starting from Abbe Sieyes who was with Third Estate(Third estate

What is the third estate? Everything.

What does it want? To become something. (Sieyes, Lualdi 113).
His statement give readers an idea of the situation of third estate and how ready they are to gain a
position in society. He believed that nation is a group of people living under same rules and
regulations carried out by the same legislature. Further, he stated that since third estate is everything,
they can claim to be part of the nation, who will follow same rules. The motive of that nation would
be to develop the individuals as the nation is made of them. Now coming onto Mazzini who thought
that upper classes always used the lower classes. He believed that people in the society, people should
say we and not I to reduce the possibilities of conflicts between classes. Upper classes always used the
word us to get their work done by the lower classes and once they got their work done, they went back
to showing their dominance and using I and degrading the lower classes and make them feel like
nothing. People should come together and should concentrate both on society and individual growth as
as a group of individuals will become members of the society and, he stated that if right to existence is

Person centred is about providing care and support that is centred or focused on the individual and
their needs. We are all individuals and just because two people might have the same medical
condition, for example, dementia, it doesn t mean that they require the same care or support because
they are two different people which means their needs will be different. You need to develop a clear
understanding about the individuals that you are working with and their needs, culture, means of
communication, likes and dislikes, family and other professional s ... Show more content on

Social support or to maintain contact with family and friends. In general people are sociable, we will
attempt to relate to other people and develop a relationship with them. Sometimes people will need
support in relating to others this can be for a range of reasons such as, illness if social circumstances
may of meant that someone has lost contact with other people such as their family and friends, other
may have issues in making relationship and some may have had difficult or painful experiences which
have made them wary of becoming involved with others.
Outcome 2
Understand how to implement a person centred approach in an adult social care setting.
1. Explain how finding out the history, preferences, wishes, and needs of an individual contributes to
their care plan.
Finding out the history, preferences, wishes and needs of an individual will contribute to their care
plan, you would do this by asking and talking to the person concerned, or if they were unable to tell
you this information, you could speak with their family. Ask the individual about their life, and what
they used to work as etc, if they are able to tell you all of this, then you will learn a great deal about
them and this will help you to offer support to them in the most appropriate ways. Residents can often
find it hard to

Tackling Gender Underachievement in Literacy and Numeracy...
Introduction
In recent years there has been much research into gender learning issues and the apparent learning
disparity between boys and girls.
Such research has included investigations into boys underachievement in literacy and girls
underachievement in mathematics. The aim of such research is to recognise key reasons why such
trends are occurring and perhaps more importantly, to address these within the classroom. Since the
introduction of the National Curriculum, national testing and assessment has provided a
comprehensive account of attainment at all key stages, especially in the key areas of numeracy,
literacy and science. However, such results should not be used exclusively when discussing gender
learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Percentage of pupils achieving Level and above in
English tests at Key Stage 2: boys and girls
Year
The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CPLE) has extensively studied gender differences in
learning. One such area of their research is the Gender and Literacy project investigating 4
Londonschools and their findings are now being used to tackle the underachievement of boys in
literacy education.
Social stereotyping is believed to play a major part in the child s learning (Head, 1999), and such role
reinforcement will affect that child s attitude and motivation towards classroom education. It is normal
for young children to spontaneously play in single sex groups and this can be considered as an early
introduction into the single sex peer groups that will dominate in later life. Such group play may be
simply due to a common, shared interest, but the need to conform to group dynamics and the need for
group acceptance may reinforce stereotyping. Within the school environment boys tend to adopt an
anti swot culture (Bradford, 1996:P1), Head states that the swot is derided and one should be cool
about school work. Boys cannot be seen as taking this work too seriously. (1999:P65). The DfES
(Department for Education and Skills) offer advice to teachers as part of the Gender and Achievement
website, of the 25 hints and tips about teaching approaches 18 are dedicated to the negative aspects of

Teen Magazine Advertisements
The whole world has seen ads in magazines where the attractive blond haired person is showing off a
bathing suit and a beefy man is looking right at her. Ads like these are misleading due to the impact
they put in teen minds. Young teenagers and boys are influenced everyday by these advertisements.
Young woman wants to be slimmer and look attractive, the truth is modeling in teen magazine ads
have harmful body images. The figures seen in magazine advertisements drive young woman and
young boys to put their own body at risk and go beyond what is healthy to attain a certain image of
perfection. Teen magazines should forbid advertisements with models with unhealthy body images,
causing teens to doubt their own self worth (Peterson, 1994).
Teenagers want to have the perfect body, Magazines are full of the idea of perfect models who have
what one would distinguish us, a perfect body. When young girls see what they believe is perfection,
they go to risky lengths to accomplish that look. With healthy models, teens can lift their self esteem
by working hard to accomplish a goal without going to extreme measures. Extreme measures can be
harmful to physical health. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Magazine advertisements that show well built models with massive biceps and six packs. Young boys
begin to imitate the false photos in an unhealthy way. One of the main drugs, boys use to increase their
figure is anabolic steroids, that are synthetic hormone or hormones that can increase the body s
capability to create muscle and avoid muscle breakdown. Corticosteroids are distinct because they are
consumed as prescriptions by a doctor. Young men who take steroids are trying to expand their muscle
development. The dangers of anabolic steroids are very risky to physical health. The results include
breakouts, tumor in the liver and mood swings. These risks can cause deadly health problems

The E Cargo Bike
Once the overall market has been determined, the next step is to segment the market. I would begin
with a geographic segmentation characteristic, focusing on individuals living in urban areas. The e
cargo bike has extensive storage, and the ability to use the motor makes it easy to tow large loads
without having to rely completely on manual peddling. This makes it a great alternative to using a car
in large cities. Parking can be very expensive and inconvenient, so the e cargo bike could also save
people a great deal of money, while offering the convenience of skipping the traffic. Not only can the
bike tow physical cargo, it can also be used to tow children, as kids bike seats can be attached to the
back. Making it a great option for parents who were not ready to give up city life and move to
suburbia. The second segmentation characteristic I would focus on is psychographic, narrowing in on
individuals who are very conscious of their environmental footprint. The Pedego Stretch e cargo bike
uses a rechargeable lithium battery with Samsung cells. Not only is this a long lasting battery, it is a
much more environmentally friendly option than burning fuel and releasing the exhaust into the air
when driving a car. The battery should last between 2 4 years and offers a 3 year warranty, which is
not only environmentally friendly, but also economical. You will not be putting a battery into a landfill
each year, further reducing your carbon footprint. Another

European Attitudes Toward Native Americans
Native Americans were seen as savage societies when it was newly discovery by the Europeans.
European societies labeled people who were not only different in language, but also those who lived
by the laws of nature, or without any laws, learning, religion or morals as savage. Not only did Europe
s discovery of the America s opened a new source of prosperity to the commercial part of Europe, but
the fall of the native when introduced to the violence and sickness brought over from the Old World.
One attitude towards the Native American that quickly emerged was that the natives were fully
human. They were perceived as beings that could reap the benefits of European civilization which
included Christian doctrine and salvation. It was shown

The Abiding Presence Of God In The Gospel Of Matthew
The Gospel of Matthew is an ancient biography. It discusses the generation of Jesus, worshipping his
life and referring to his teachings as the good news. This Gospel summons readers to seek God s
Kingdom, to follow Jesus so that they can experience wonderful things, and to act on His words,
understand them and teach others like He taught us. The Gospel of Matthew consists of eight themes:
The Abiding Presence of God, Jesus as the Son of God, The Teaching of Jesus, Discipleship,
Interpretation and Scripture, Binding and Loosing, Worship and Doubt, Faith and Understanding, and
Hostility Towards Jewish Leaders. God is omnipresent, meaning that he is in attendance everywhere at
the same time. Matthew s Gospel exhibits interest in the ways that God is present on Earth. The
Gospel of Matthew answers the question, Where is God? , usually asked by many struggling believers
or by those who are generally curious. The answer that Matthew provides is divided into three
presentations. The first being that God is present in Jesus, meaning that when Jesus was brought into
this world, He had opened up a passage so that God can fully enter our world and actually be with us .
In fact, the main point of this theme is that Matthew accepts those who worship Jesus and deems it
appropriate because, in a sense, worshiping Jesus counts as worshiping God, who is present in Jesus.
This point was proposed for the people who lived before Jesus crucifixion. However, after Easter, the
question then

Emergency Management Agency Analysis
Anytown, Minnesota currently has an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in a back room of
the City Hall. The designated room is 650 square feet and has not been updated for over ten years.
Huder (2012), states that an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is where decision making and
problem solving occurs when there is a disaster. An EOC can be activated for disasters as well as for
large scale planned events (Fairfax, 2015 p. 1). ASTM International identify that an EOC needs to be
developed and maintained based on the risks, vulnerabilities, capabilities, and the needs of the
community (Standard Guide, p.2). The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided a
checklist that assists with assessing the capability of the infrastructure of an EOC (United States, n.d,).
Based on this assessment, it is recommended that the current EOC undergo restructuring and
renovations to include; increasing the square footage of the current EOC and upgrading offices to be

The grant requires that Anytown comes up with $150,000, which is 20% of the total amount funded.
In order to offset the match amount required by FEMA, Anytown successfully applied for an
additional non match grant. The Alexandria Difference Maker grant will provide $30,000 towards the
development of a more robust emergency operations center (Community Giving, n.d). The use of
additional office space, totaling 1850 square feet, is equal to $57,054 per year. This is based upon the
average square foot rate of $2.57 per square foot per month. The $57,054 can be considered in kind
contributions towards the match amount. This means that the city of Anytown will need to come up
with $72,054. This funding can be obtained by using the cities operation budget as well as the general
fund. By upgrading the EOC, the city of Anytown will be able to utilize the rooms for trainings and

It s imperative to consider investigating the early stages of language and communicative development in very young children with ASD for this reason. In regards to measuring early language skills in clients with Autism, generally this is done by both standardized tests and parent reports such as questionnaires or interviews. Both approaches offer valuable information about a child s linguistic skills and provide important information to predict later language outcomes. Various types of standardized tests and parent reports can be used to assess a child s receptive and or expressive language skills. For this reason, it s important to understand the various options, and the impact on the results these types of tests may have. Rhiannon J. • 4. Analysis Of Queen By Audrey Flack Queen, by Audrey Flack is a very captivating piece of artwork. It was painted in 1976, originally Audrey Flack took a picture and then used it as the basis for this painting. Queen is a painting of box that is full of special mementos. It has features such as a quarter of an open orange, a rose, a pocket watch, a queen playing card, a locket of an older and a younger woman, lip balm, perfume, a chess piece, blush, and a chain necklace with the letter F on it. The painting almost looks like a vanity drawer or a keepsake drawer. However, realizing the fruits and flower in the painting I understood it to be a collection of the artist s memories as opposed to a drawer. Audrey Flack was demonstrating the many things that were significant to her while aging. Queen signifies the fight against time. It shows that no matter what possessions you retain it will not keep you young. No one can win the battle against time. I am going to describe every element in the painting while analyzing every element as well. I will show why I believe the objects and elements in the painting point towards my thesis of how the Queen is expressing a fight against time. First off, the games. The card of queen and the chess piece are both mementos from the artist s childhood, showing she grew up playing games. Something significant about the queen playing card is its femininity. Why specifically the queen as opposed to any other card? I think it addresses the phase the artist went through as a child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Racial Discrimination And Gender Discrimination Discrimination is an ongoing problem that exists in many forms and is often studied by social psychologists. According to Bordens and Horowitz (2014), discrimination is defined as overt behavior often negatively directed toward a particular group and often tied to prejudicial attitudes which involves behaving in different ways toward members of different groups (p. 106). Although discriminatory behaviors have seemed to simmer down over the past decades, individuals still to this day continue to face discrimination based on characteristics such as their race, religion, age, gender, and sexual orientation. My paper focuses on three studies about gender discrimination, or sexism. These studies target gender discrimination in the workplace, people s perceptions and levels of supportiveness towards situations which entail gender discrimination, and factors that influence their perceptions. The first portion of the paper consists of summaries of the articles while the second section includes an analysis of these studies. In one study conducted by Hess (2013), mock job interviews were completed with female college students to investigate nonverbal gender discrimination. The hypothesis was that experienced interviewers would show more unfavorable behaviors towards women applying for a masculine, or incongruent, job and more favorable behaviors towards those interviewing for job that is considered to be feminine, or congruent. With approximately six to eight nuclear weapons and the fact that it did not sign a Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty, without a doubt, North Korea is a significant threat to both the United States and her interests (Chanlett Avery, Rinehart, Nikitin, 2016). Also, North Korea was expected to accept the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, which included visits from the International Atomic Energy Agency to ensure compliance. While not a perfectly stable contract, the agreement effectively froze North Korea s nuclear proliferation program and thus prevented the production of many nuclear weapons. Partially as a result of the Agreed Framework, North Korea does not have as many nuclear weapons as more developed countries as the North Koreans were not able to develop their nuclear program during the eight years of the Agreed Framework. Surprisingly, it was the United States who suspended its obligations under the agreement when it found out that North Korea was developing a centrifuge program. The centrifuge program technically did not violate the Agreed Framework, however, it alarmed the United States, enough so that it suspended the Agreed Framework. The significance of the Agreed Framework is simply the idea that North Korea can be dealt with diplomatically as it has been done in the past. With a few major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Virginia Woolf first began Flush, she intended the biography merely for the amusement of one of the Bloomsbury group (Smith, 356). While the text clearly grew in meaning during its creation, its inception was purposeless, especially in with regards to morality. Morality was always going to be secondary in Flush as the book is all about innovation. Like most modernist, Woolf was always trying to be innovative and different in her work. While, the dog memoir pre exists Flush, Woolf radically wrote the novella from the perspective of the dog, emphasising his point of view over all else (Smith, 352). Most brilliantly, Woolf gave Flush an almost human understanding all the while remaining specifically distinct from his owners. Take for example Flush s understanding of his class as a dog. Class is a human, racial, and economic creation which Flush understands in his own way; Flush knew before the summer had passed that there is no equality among dogs: some dogs are high dogs; some are low (Woolf, 19). • 14. The Bible Is Full Of Wisdom And Folly The Bible is full of wisdom and folly. This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was written by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have been written by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance, regardless of their age. Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their vices. The main theme of the book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs. Ecclesiastes main theme is life without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are a lot of contrasting chapters and verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish, the wicked and righteous and the lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the contrasts between evil and good and foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and relate the concepts, describe and compare them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish). In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway (ESV). This saying corroborates the points of Proverbs concerning the directives that diligence is the way of the wise and the path with less resistance. To do this, it first briefly states ways in which the term sustainable energy has been interpreted by various bodies and individuals and ways in which people seek to identify an energy source which is truly sustainable. This essay seeks to point out the flaw in classifying all renewable sources of energy as being sustainable. It will achieve this by comparing two energy related projects, proving how sustainable a non renewable source can be and vice versa. Lastly, it will prove ways in which different people s misconceptions can affect further progress with these energy related projects. A number of suitable definitions of sustainable energy run through this essay. Sustainable Energy has been defined as; A living harmony between the equitable availability of energy services to all people and the preservation of the earth for future generations (Tester, Drake, Driscoll, Golay, Peters, 2005). This from my own point of view is the most accurate definition by far. Pointedly, it is in contrast with a number of definitions; for example this one by Denzil Walton stating that; Sustainable energy is regarded as the system of producing, transporting, distributing and consuming energy in a way that promotes a reduction in the rate of consumption of non renewable resources which lead to environmental degradation while providing at socially ... Incidents like this have happened many times in this world and are still happening today. Since the beginning of these crimes there has been controversy on whether or not other countries should intervene in other countries affairs when it comes to crimes against humanity. The main reason is protecting other countries sovereignty. They don t want to take over their right to self determination and their right to govern themselves and make their own decisions. However the other side to it is that when it gets to the point of human suffering and death and becomes a crime against humanity countries should intervene and save civilians lives. Countries should not be allowed to make their own decisions after a crime against humanity has started. My position on this issue is that when a crime against humanity has begun countries and the UN should intervene and put a stop to it. In 1937 300,000 soldiers and civilians were killed and almost 80,000 women were sexually assaulted, this was the Nanking massacre. He also wrote a book in 1784, which taught that drinking little amounts of wine and beer would not harm you very much, but drinking rum and whisky would cause death and diseases. Congress voted and approved of the amendment in January 1919, and enacted it in to law as the National Prohibition Act of 1920. After the Eighteenth Amendment was passed, Congress had to make a maximum amount of alcohol that beverages could contain. They then passed the Volstead Act. This act was far more severe than anyone expected. The Act put the maximum alcoholic content at 0.05 percent. By comparison, today s beers have between 4 and 6 percent alcohol, 100 times more than the Volstead Act allowed. Whiskey had around 50 percent alcohol (Noble). Most people were very shocked at how low the act actually put the alcohol limit. A Literary Digest poll taken in 1922 found that 40 percent of respondents favored allowing light beer and wine. The poll also found that 62 percent of working men favored lenient enforcement of prohibition (Noble). Prohibition was a main topic of discussion for politics. When a woman who is pregnant drinks alcohol, the baby is also drinking alcohol. Many doctors advise that it is okay for the mother to have an occasional drink, however, some women cannot stop at one drink, and they continue to drink in excess throughout their pregnancy. The supernatural elements in Macbeth include fate, the witches, mythological beings, ghosts, and apparitions. I believe that the witches in Shakespeare s time, in the play and in real life, represent the power of choice. The power to be able to decide to commit murder or any other heinous act or decide to let things naturally happen shows the classic choice between good and evil, but the witches themselves are not evil. While they are viewed as treasonous in this time, that is simply because they were believed to be associated with the devil and a threat to the king. In reality, Macbeth is the evil one because of his actions. I would even argue that Macbeth was the one who sealed his unfortunate fate once the king was murdered. Because of the downward spiral Macbeth, and even Lady Macbeth, faces after the murders, his eventual insanity proves that the act he committed was in fact evil because of the repercussions he faced. The repercussions themselves could be viewed as evil because the supernatural evil could prove to be a better sanctioning mechanism than a punishing god (Martinez, 334). I think this is comparable to our society today because of how the belief in fate itself constitutes the belief of karma, either good or bad, in that a person gets what he or she deserves. Nowadays, it is all about violence and robberies. To some people, the world is seen as a bad place to be because of all the negative minded people and the impact they leave on others. Fortunately, not all people are negative minded; the world has good people who do positive things to impact the world. In fact, Charles Darwin is a prime example of a good person who made a positive impact on the world. Darwin signed to become a naturalist, came up with the theory of evolution, and he also wrote a book, Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection explaining his life s work. It is important that people know and understand the importance of Darwin and the theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. Darwin was an English naturalist. According to an article, Darwin established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. Rotavirus is a gastrointestinal illness characterized by vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach ache and a fever. Children less than three years old are particularly at risk of dehydration from the sudden vomiting and diarrhoea, which can require hospitalisation. A vaccine against rotavirus was recommended globally by WHO in 2009, and it has recently been approved into the New Zealand immunisation schedule. As yet there are no studies following the effectiveness of this vaccine since its introduction using New Zealand study subjects specifically. Methods. In this matched case control study, cases are infants between eight weeks and three years of age who will be seen in a participating ED with rotavirus, confirmed with a positive rotavirus antigen test, between November 2014 and November 2016 in New Zealand. For every case we will enrol 1 or 2 controls who are seen in the same ED without rotavirus and they will be matched for date of birth (within two weeks) and date of visit to ED (within two weeks). Vaccine effectiveness will be calculated by 1 minus the matched odds ratio, multiplied by 100 for the percentage. • 36. How Lewis Structures Are Constructed Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone pairs of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are constructed. The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1 in hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Non valence electrons are not expressed. Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms in the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there are only two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity. After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of surrounding atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has eight electrons in its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all single bonds and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up with only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need eight valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons around them instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra electrons. SF4 is an example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10 valence electrons. Management Concerns in Corrections for Special Populations Michelle Bergos Introduction to Corrections 140 September 25, 2016 Jason Skeens Abstract More often than not, if John Q. However, what we are really asking for our corrections system to do is to secure and supervise the individuals cast out of society through the judicial process regardless of their individual needs and abilities. The purpose of this particular study is focused on the management of special needs inmates and the burdens incurred at various levels. For this study, special needs populations are defined as prisoners who exhibit unique physical, mental, social, and programmatic needs that distinguish them from other prisoners and to whom jail and prison management and staff have to respond in nontraditional and innovative ways (Schmalleger Smykla 2013). The special needs populations included individuals suffering from mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse and dependency, the elderly, sufferers of chronic and communicable diseases, and physical disabilities. • 43. Tackling Gender Underachievement in Literacy and Numeracy... Introduction In recent years there has been much research into gender learning issues and the apparent learning disparity between boys and girls. Such research has included investigations into boys underachievement in literacy and girls underachievement in mathematics. The aim of such research is to recognise key reasons why such trends are occurring and perhaps more importantly, to address these within the classroom. Since the introduction of the National Curriculum, national testing and assessment has provided a comprehensive account of attainment at all key stages, especially in the key areas of numeracy, literacy and science. However, such results should not be used exclusively when discussing gender learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Percentage of pupils achieving Level and above in English tests at Key Stage 2: boys and girls Year The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CPLE) has extensively studied gender differences in learning. One such area of their research is the Gender and Literacy project investigating 4 Londonschools and their findings are now being used to tackle the underachievement of boys in literacy education. Social stereotyping is believed to play a major part in the child s learning (Head, 1999), and such role reinforcement will affect that child s attitude and motivation towards classroom education. It is normal for young children to spontaneously play in single sex groups and this can be considered as an early introduction into the single sex peer groups that will dominate in later life. Such group play may be simply due to a common, shared interest, but the need to conform to group dynamics and the need for group acceptance may reinforce stereotyping. Within the school environment boys tend to adopt an anti swot culture (Bradford, 1996:P1), Head states that the swot is derided and one should be cool about school work. Boys cannot be seen as taking this work too seriously. (1999:P65). The DfES (Department for Education and Skills) offer advice to teachers as part of the Gender and Achievement website, of the 25 hints and tips about teaching approaches 18 are dedicated to the negative aspects of boy ... • 44. Teen Magazine Advertisements The whole world has seen ads in magazines where the attractive blond haired person is showing off a bathing suit and a beefy man is looking right at her. Ads like these are misleading due to the impact they put in teen minds. Young teenagers and boys are influenced everyday by these advertisements. Young woman wants to be slimmer and look attractive, the truth is modeling in teen magazine ads have harmful body images. The figures seen in magazine advertisements drive young woman and young boys to put their own body at risk and go beyond what is healthy to attain a certain image of perfection. Teen magazines should forbid advertisements with models with unhealthy body images, causing teens to doubt their own self worth (Peterson, 1994). Teenagers want to have the perfect body, Magazines are full of the idea of perfect models who have what one would distinguish us, a perfect body. When young girls see what they believe is perfection, they go to risky lengths to accomplish that look. With healthy models, teens can lift their self esteem by working hard to accomplish a goal without going to extreme measures. Extreme measures can be harmful to physical health. ... • 45. The E Cargo Bike Once the overall market has been determined, the next step is to segment the market. I would begin with a geographic segmentation characteristic, focusing on individuals living in urban areas. The e cargo bike has extensive storage, and the ability to use the motor makes it easy to tow large loads without having to rely completely on manual peddling. This makes it a great alternative to using a car in large cities. Parking can be very expensive and inconvenient, so the e cargo bike could also save people a great deal of money, while offering the convenience of skipping the traffic. Not only can the bike tow physical cargo, it can also be used to tow children, as kids bike seats can be attached to the back. Making it a great option for parents who were not ready to give up city life and move to suburbia. The second segmentation characteristic I would focus on is psychographic, narrowing in on individuals who are very conscious of their environmental footprint. The Pedego Stretch e cargo bike uses a rechargeable lithium battery with Samsung cells. Not only is this a long lasting battery, it is a much more environmentally friendly option than burning fuel and releasing the exhaust into the air when driving a car. The battery should last between 2 4 years and offers a 3 year warranty, which is not only environmentally friendly, but also economical. You will not be putting a battery into a landfill each year, further reducing your carbon footprint. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. The Abiding Presence Of God In The Gospel Of Matthew The Gospel of Matthew is an ancient biography. It discusses the generation of Jesus, worshipping his life and referring to his teachings as the good news. This Gospel summons readers to seek God s Kingdom, to follow Jesus so that they can experience wonderful things, and to act on His words, understand them and teach others like He taught us. The Gospel of Matthew consists of eight themes: The Abiding Presence of God, Jesus as the Son of God, The Teaching of Jesus, Discipleship, Interpretation and Scripture, Binding and Loosing, Worship and Doubt, Faith and Understanding, and Hostility Towards Jewish Leaders. God is omnipresent, meaning that he is in attendance everywhere at the same time. Matthew s Gospel exhibits interest in the ways that God is present on Earth. The Gospel of Matthew answers the question, Where is God? , usually asked by many struggling believers or by those who are generally curious. The answer that Matthew provides is divided into three presentations. The first being that God is present in Jesus, meaning that when Jesus was brought into this world, He had opened up a passage so that God can fully enter our world and actually be with us . In fact, the main point of this theme is that Matthew accepts those who worship Jesus and deems it appropriate because, in a sense, worshiping Jesus counts as worshiping God, who is present in Jesus. This point was proposed for the people who lived before Jesus crucifixion. However, after Easter, the question then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Emergency Management Agency Analysis Anytown, Minnesota currently has an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in a back room of the City Hall. The designated room is 650 square feet and has not been updated for over ten years. Huder (2012), states that an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is where decision making and problem solving occurs when there is a disaster. An EOC can be activated for disasters as well as for large scale planned events (Fairfax, 2015 p. 1). ASTM International identify that an EOC needs to be developed and maintained based on the risks, vulnerabilities, capabilities, and the needs of the community (Standard Guide, p.2). The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided a checklist that assists with assessing the capability of the infrastructure of an EOC (United States, n.d,).
