Techday7, Cross platform application development using Appcelerator Titanium event's Keynote on Appcelerator Titanium By Sivakumar Veerappan, CEO and Founder of Anubavam Technologies
Camerjam mobile marketing masterclass 12snapJames Cameron
This document discusses developing apps across different platforms. It highlights that the mobile market is fragmented, with different operating systems gaining share over time. Developing natively for each platform ensures the best user experience but is costly. Cross-platform tools provide a shortcut but often cannot match native performance and integration. The conclusion is there is no true shortcut; one must consider the development tool and ensure the concept works across platforms, rather than rushing a single app to multiple stores.
Android has revolutionized the mobile and device landscape and like many FOSS projects, Android is complex. Effective management and control requires training, tools, processes and standards. The SPDX standard will reduce friction in the mobile supply chain, increase efficiency and promote compliance.
Mobile Apps 2012 conference: From concept to releaseintunity
This document provides an overview of developing successful mobile apps. It discusses key decisions around whether to build native, web, or cross-platform apps. Native apps are best for utilizing device capabilities but require separate development for each platform. Web apps can be accessed across platforms but are less responsive. Cross-platform aims to develop once and deploy across platforms. The document also covers consumer versus enterprise apps, prioritizing features, using an iterative design process, and releasing in stages to get early user feedback. Future trends discussed include expanded device capabilities and payment/location-based features. The overall message is to start simply and evolve the app based on user needs.
The document discusses the evolution of mobile platforms and operating systems over time. It covers the history and key features of platforms like Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Android, Java ME, and mobile web. It also summarizes the architecture and components of iOS and Android platforms, including their software stacks, APIs, and the differences between their app stores. Finally, it touches on HTML5 and the capabilities it brings to developing mobile web applications.

Some of the trends discussed include the shift from mega-portals to personal me-portals, content communication becoming more important than content alone, and the internet increasingly reaching into mobile phones through technologies like AJAX and widgets.
2. It also touches on the competing application execution environments like Flash Lite vs Java and the war between web programming and open operating systems. The document notes that the value in mobile software is bubbling up the stack and that open source development could accelerate this.
3. Finally, it discusses how the value quadrants in mobile are shifting to focus more on
This document discusses trends in mobile commerce. It notes the explosion of the mobile market including smartphones and tablets. Mobile applications and websites are important for commerce as people now browse and shop on their mobile devices. Technologies like location services, augmented reality, mobile payments, and QR codes are changing mobile commerce. Developers must decide between native apps or mobile web sites to reach customers on their devices. The future will likely be a mix of both approaches along with responsive design to provide quality experiences across all screens.
The document discusses mobile browser testing, including browser engines, browsers, compatibility testing scope, W3 best practices, HTML5, CSS Mobile Profile 2.1, and usability testing. It provides lists of browser engines, browsers, features to test for compatibility, and W3 best practices. It also discusses tools for testing on different screen sizes and top tools for testing mobile browsers.
This document summarizes key mobile trends from 2011-2012. It notes that mobile internet usage surpassed desktop usage by 2015. Android became the leading smartphone platform, followed by iOS. The iPad dominated the tablet market, though Android gained share. Apps grew significantly across platforms, and mobile communities emerged around popular apps like Facebook. Tablets changed consumer behavior and mobile payments/gaming also rose in popularity. Internet-connected devices proliferated as the "Internet of Things" took shape. Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.

• Each 1 man/day development costs 10x
• Operational costs increases 10x
• Time for testing increases 10x
• Risk of failure increases 10x
