Tables show the results of sieve analysis tests on fine and coarse aggregates, confirming that the grading meets specifications. The compressive strength of concrete cubes made with the aggregates was tested at 7, 28, and 56 days of curing.

Incremental cash flow refers to the additional cash generated by a project or investment compared to doing nothing. It is calculated as the cash inflows from the project less the cash outflows. Incremental cash flows are important for capital budgeting decisions because they indicate whether a project will generate positive or negative returns. Only projects with positive incremental cash flows should be accepted.
For the Palm's Hospital project, the incremental cash flows would be calculated as:
Cash Inflows:
- Revenue from patients treated at the new facility
Cash Outflows:
- Construction costs for the new facility
- Operating costs of the new facility (staff, supplies, etc.)
- Interest costs on debt financing

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

The Reason Why More And More Women Are Getting Breast Lift Sydney
A breast lift is a plastic surgery procedure that tightens the tissues making up the breast. In addition, it
does away with excess and unnecessary skin in order to make them look more full and contoured. The
breast lift is also referred to as a mastopexy. It is a process that is recognized by the Australian Society
of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
It is one of life s inevitable and foregone conclusions, as sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the

a woman can do to keep the rate at which this happens in check, but it is bound to slowly but surely

3. Compare And Contrast African And Western Psychology
Psychology is an academic discipline built on various explanations and perspectives to understand
human behaviour. In a comparative essay, the fundamental tenets of African and Western psychology
will be discussed. Recognising Western s goal for individualisation contrasting African s goal for
socialisation. Testing the validity of Indigenous knowledge systems by observing the upbringing of the
Samoan Fa afafine as well as contrasting the two perspectives in terms of orientation towards nature,
time, human activity and orientation. We begin by defining the fundamental principles of psychology,

Also, they can look back in history to remember their culture of actively creating psychosocial and
other forms of knowledge much earlier than the western psychologists taught it. Proof of African
psychology legitimacy prior to Western psychology is lucid dreaming, which was initially dismissed
by western psychologists but later they accepted (Swarts et al, 2016).
Orientation towards nature, Western always was mastery and control over the environment, this can be
linked to the colonist mindset of conquering land in history (Hook, 2002). African is focused on how
people and nature may co exist, this mentality refers to their concept of interconnectedness and
interdependence of all beings, showing great importance in our relationship with living, non living and

4. Comparison Of Solar Declares And The Solar Cycle
A problem that may affect you in the future are solar flares and the solar cycle. Solar flares and
sunspots can interrupt radio frequencies, transmissions, and everything electronic. This could cause
prodigious problems and send the world into anarchy. Solar flares are high energy explosions that
radiate through space. They are sometimes called CME s, which stands for coronal mass ejection.
Solar flares are measured by the maximum flux of their X rays. The scale consists of grade A, B, C,
M, X flares. A is the weakest level and X is the strongest. This scale is similar to the Richter scale for
measuring earthquakes. The most recent solar flare that was considered X rated occurred in 2011,
according to (Science Daily.)
A sunspot is a result of a solar flare. Sunspots occur when there is a magnetic disturbance on the
surface of the sun, which causes a cooler temperature of the gases then the ones around it. A solar flare
is an explosion of plasma on the surface of the sun. Both sunspots and solar flares cause electrical

Since solar flares interrupt electrical lines and towers, you can buy an off the grid generator to supply
your building with power. Investing in surge protectors can help protect your appliances power boards
from being fried. Another way to protect major electricity and communication lines is to make them
more material based and not as vulnerable. NASA has built a large solar shield to protect their power
grids from solar activity. These function as mirrors and are repositioned as the CME travels towards
Earth.
To conclude, solar flares are a threat to the existence of technology on earth. They could cause vast
problems on Earth, however there are things we can do to protect and prevent against these solar
flares. Solar flares are no need to worry too much about, as the odds of them hitting Earth are very

5. Controversies On Native American Names
Dajana Nalvarte Sociology November 10, 2014 Controversies on Native American Names For many
years several schools, sports, companies, things, and mascots have their names named after Native
Americans. The Native Americans have been fighting to take their names back after so many years.
They feel that it is an offensive expression to use their names on things and want the names to be
changed to something else. Then you have the opposing side that say the name is a form of positive
respect towards the Native Americans. This becomes a controversy amongst both sides because both
have different opinions on what the names stand for. Throughout the United States about 4,600
schools use Native Americans names for their teams and mascot (99; pt.3). These schools use logos of
people, animals, and cartoon characters of the Native American to represent their teams (99; pt. 3). For
example, Huntley High School in Huntley, III has used a Native American name for their sports team,
and mascot for about 70 year (99; pt. 3). Not only is the school recognized for being the Redskins, but
they have been using the name Redskins respectfully for all these years (99; pt.3). Even though the
school is proud of the name and use it as a positive symbol others say they are degrading and offended
the Native Americans (99; pt. 3). It started with protesters that wanted the school to change their
names to something else. The school officials wanted to calm down these protesters so

Rupert Murdoch and a Dramatic Change in the Television Industry
Critically assess this statement with particular reference to commercial television channels.
Rupert Murdoch owns one of the largest media organisations in the world, called News International.
This is an organisation which owns products in all mediums. Press baron, Murdoch started his
ownership of print in Australia when he inherited his first newspaper from his father, the Adelaide
News, he made what was a fairly unsuccessful newspaper into a thriving business. After taking over
the Mirror in Sydney, in the 1970 s Murdoch came to the UK and purchased two tabloids, The Sun

BSKYB/ Sky news was the first of its kind and revolutionised the television industry, never before had
you been able to access current news stories from your television set 24 hours a day. However the
British population seemed uninterested in the early 1990 s and it wasn t until the mid to late 1990 s
that BSKYB started to make a profit. But in 1998 approximately 6.2million homes had access to Sky
News either through satellite or cable.
Up until the launch of BSKYB the television industry had been mainly dominated by the BBC. Rupert
Murdoch changed that and the television industry became and still is dominated by commercial
television in particular satellite and cable. We then had access to a huge number of channels for both
news and entertainment. This meant that people felt they had a greater choice in what they watched
For example sport, people who particularly enjoyed baseball were now able to access a baseball
match, and the viewer would feel as though they were taking part in a shared experience. This is
something the viewer would not be able to do with terrestrial television. In 1996 SKY decided to
introduce the first pay per view and charged their customers to watch the Bruno vs Tyson fight. People
paid for this because they felt that what they were receiving was an exclusive sports showing. Rupert

compares a firm s current assets to its current liabilities. The businesses current ratio showed the same
figure of 0.7:1 in 2009 as well as 2010. This won t be a concern to Tesco with them selling food
products they will not hold onto stock for very long due to the fact it will go off. So this low figure
just represents the sort of market Tesco operates in. Gearing Gearing represents the percentage of a
business that has been financed from borrowing money rather than from investors or shareholders. In
2009 Tesco s gearing was 74% but this was reduced significantly in 2010 to 54%. Being highly geared
is often seen as being a problem so the figure seen in 2009 can be viewed as a negative. However in
2009 Tesco underwent a huge expansion process into different countries which is a large venture and
would therefore require a lot of financial backing for it to actually work. This point shows why the
figure in 2009 was so high as borrowing money would be a good way of providing the financial
backing needed to get up and running in the various different places. In 2010 the figure falls to 54% a
significant decrease which shows during that year Tesco must

First of all, let us know that what this perception is? In general, perception is the process by which we
acquire the information about the world around us and inside us, using our senses. For example If I
feel that a red car is going by the road and a women is sitting on it, drinking coffee, then first of all I
should have sense that what is car, roads, red, coffee etc. These all perceptions require possession of
concepts, but there exists another class of perception that does not require any possession to perceive

Some illusions are due to the general assumptions made by our brain during perception. These

Despite the introduction of several tough economic austerity programs by 2001 the recession slid into
its third year and Argentina was bankrupt. The IMF gave Argentina $13.7 billion in emergency aid in
January, 2001 and $8 billion in August, 2001. The international help was not enough however and
Argentina verged on economic collapse forcing it to default on its $141 billion foreign debt payment
which was the largest such default in history.
On January, 2002 after more instability the government announced an economic plan devaluing the
Argentine peso which had been pegged to the dollar for a decade. The devaluation plunged the
banking industry into crisis, caused unemployment to reach 20% and wiped out much of the savings
of the middle class, plunging millions of Argentineans into poverty.
Néstor Kirchner became Argentina s president in May 2003. Kirchner has vowed to aggressively
reform the courts, police, and armed services, and to repeal amnesty laws for perpetrators of the dirty

growth rate of about 8% since President Kirchner took office. But doubts have been raised about
efforts at repaying its record public debt default.

We are all the same, no one is better no one is less. We are all struggling to survive; be kind. That s the
rhetoric my parents so heavily ingrained in my mind. I was raised to take this passive ideology and
grow my life out of well intended passivism. Same became the degradation of different; Struggles
became insignificant and rooted in the pretense that everyone faces the same challenges. So, I went
through the motions stagnant and unmoved. Racism became unreal, unfathomable and unlogical. I
looked at St. Louis, my home, without truly seeing the deep existence of division the deep truth of
what it really holds. Like the Van Boucle painting, a common motif of mutual death can be seen in the
life of my home town. His strokes paint dead turkeys all vaguely touching each other, as they are set
up in different positions. Some are further away from others, but all are at least a part of a pair. Like
this image, the oil spills into blood and death touches us all; linking our existence; linking the streets
of St. Louis.

Reading this extremely descriptive book about the torment that this young man had to go through is
kind of like reading a diary entry that stemmed from a failed high school relationship. Except in this
case, someone else is writing this story about heartbreak. The author digs deep into the feelings and
the underlying meaning behind the story of this young man and it almost seems as though they are
experimenting or gathering data. In fact, it states that they are an observer in this short drama. While
this book is full of serious topics and it is very dense literature, it seems to portray some sort of farce.
The story of the guy from the author s own point of view is way too dramatic for what it really is, but
when taken seriously it shows us what he is going through. Life itself is a farce and we must live with
some ethical reasoning and purpose, but sometimes we overanalyze a situation and we need God s
guidance for keeping us in our track. The first part of the story describes what repetition and
recollection is and why it is so important. It introduces us to the dilemma of a young man who cannot
seem to understand his break up with his girlfriend, to put it simply. The second part describes how he
deals and finds meaning in his struggles through the story of Job and how he learns to move on. In the
beginning, we are informed about repetition and how we as people crave it so much. There is a
difference between repetition and recollection. Repetition is experiencing the

16. It Is Efficient When Copying Information
It is efficient when copying information.
Being double stranded means that when the DNA helicase enzyme unzips it, information can be
copied from both strands at the same time. DNA polymerase is responsible for attaching free DNA
nucleotides to the open DNA strands. The DNA helicase enzyme will not stop till it reaches the end of
the strand. Same as the DNA polymerase. When DNA is copied from both the complementary strand
and the template strand, this process is called semi conservative replication. Its information can be
copied easily.
Being single stranded means that the side with the bases are not paired to another strand. When it is
making the proteins, protein synthesis, it will be easy to for the amino acids to attach. mRNA leaves
the nucleus with the copied information and attaches to the ribosome in the cytoplasm. mRNA will
wait for amino acids molecules to attach. If the mRNA was double stranded, it would take more time
for the amino acids to attach.
It is stronger. Having two strands bonded together makes DNA stronger. The strands are joined
together by hydrogen bonds. Hydrogens are very strong bonds. DNA is stable in alkaline environment.
It is lighter to carry around. Since mRNA has to move from inside the nucleus to the cytoplasm.

19. Snakes In Georgia s Ecosystem
Snakes
As many of you may know I grew up riding and showing horses. Many of my days were spent out at
the barn where my horse was boarded. There were many animals around the stable horses, dogs, cats
and your occasional snake. There was nothing like going to pick up a flake of hay for my horse and
there lay a snake on the bale of hay. Snakes hung around the stable because mice were around. The
mice were attracted to the horse feed. The snakes were attracted to the mice.
There are 42 snake species found in Georgia. Of these 42 species only 6 are venomous. The most
commonly observed snakes are the black racers, rat snakes and nonvenomous water snakes. Snakes
play an important role of Georgia s ecosystem since they are considered both predator and prey.
Snakes are also beneficial to have around because they feed on many animals that are labeled as pests.

20. Comparing Charlie And The Chocolate Factory And Charlie...
Film Comparison
In 1971, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was released, based on Dahl s novel, Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory . In 2005, its remake was released, under the name Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory. After watching and analysing both films, it is a popular opinion that the filmmakers
responsible for creating the remake, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory have made use of story
elements, including story progression, cause and effect, point of view, structuring of time, setting and
characters more effectively to engage the audience more when compared to the original film, Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory .
Character creation and development is a necessary element that is used by filmmakers to engage
audiences. Audiences watch films to see characters change through their experiences and characters
need to be memorable so an audience remains engaged by the film. While both films share the same
characters, there are noticeable differences. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , the characters are
obviously playing to extremes. Each character has their niche, and that is their defining trait. For
example, Charlie is poor, Wonka is extremely eccentric, Veruca is stuck up, Augustus is a glutton,
Violet is a winner and Mike is a gamer. In Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory , the basic idea is
the same, however the characters aren t as memorable. However, both films shape their characters
through their appearances. For example, Augustus is quite large, reflecting the fact that he likes to eat
and Charlie looks hungry, suggesting to the audience that he is quite poor and does not get enough to
eat. It is the opinion of many that taking the characters to the extremes engages the audience better
than allowing them to be less defined. Yet, the filmmakers also create characters through their use of
settings, causing the audience to become further engaged in the texts.
In both films, the settings share similar purposes. This purpose being to create conflict as well as
allowing the audience to assume certain things about characters, background, context, etc. However it
is a shared opinion that the remake, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory uses setting more effectively.

Muhanad Alenezi
Film Studies 101
November 19, 15
The Power of a Child s Imagination Guillermo del Toro, a respected director has been credited for
many of his films. Among his popular Pan s Labyrinth, del Toro exposes his true power as a
filmmaker in his movie as the innocent is lured by the power of imagination. Ofelia s traumatic young
experiences are influencing her imaginary gateways to new worlds. In this movie, Guillermo del Toro
uses different elements of film style to get an insight of Ofelia s vivid and detailed imagination of how
her imaginary world is much preferred over her realistic world. At the begging of the movie, we can

Del Toro s use of lighting and color allowed us to explore and comprehend Ofelia s thoughts and
shows clues for the movie s implicit meaning. Lighting used in Ofelia gives us a better understanding
between her reality and fantasy. A strong example would be towards the end of the movie when her
father shoots Ofelia. The colors turned dark and as the whole place went shadowy showing the misery
of Ofelia s realistic world as she dies slowly. Suddenly, bright yellow lights pervaded the scene as
Ofelia turn into Princess Moana. Del Toro s slight change of color had created two completely
different worlds, one where imagination provides immortality, and a realistic one where death is not
an option. Ofelia s room is dark and there is barely any light, which portrays her reality. Nevertheless,
in the mystical underground of the pale man s home the light is relatively brighter, which just goes to
show that Ofelia s realistic life is depressing. Her imagination, however, is not astonishing but is
preferred over her reality. She enters the paranormal underground wearing a full green dress and
Ofelia s face is saturated. Green is the color of nature; it symbolizes freshness, fertility, and holds with
it a strong emotional correspondence with safety. The color of her dress has successfully shown her
dream of escaping the real world and entering the unknown world. This indirectly indicates Ofelia s
passionate personality when she is aware that her

22. The Press Released Horror Stories
United States. In Kenya, the press released horror stories of what the Mau Mau rebels did to colonists
to destroy support for them among both the British back home, and potential rebels in Kenya.
International news reported Kikuyu attacks on settlers as fanatical, degraded, bestial, and satanic
(Robbins 295). Such press reports denied the Mau Mau rebels their own voice in the international
conversation and turned potential sources of support against them.
However, just as the press has the power to deny support to indigenous resistance, so it can lend

However, all responses from governments and capitalists have not been violent. Native Americans
have ongoing, nonviolent struggles with the United States government over land, money, education,
healthcare, and legal rights. Maxus has regular dealings with ONHAE that are nonviolent, yet they are
a form of resistance because ONHAE is in itself a resistance.
Those that are protested against may not understand the protest; Robbins writes that the British could
think of no reason that the Mau Mau would rebel, and so they blamed the Mau Mau oath (Robbins
297). When two cultures collide, it is reasonable to assume that one (or both) will not understand the
other; there is often little attempt to understand the indigenous culture, as shown by missionary
attempts to educate indigenous people away from their traditional cultures. The inability to understand
each other, or perhaps the lack of an attempt to, may also be a leading cause for the violent reactions
that foreign parties have had to indigenous resistance.
The Huaorani are such a small group that open rebellion like the Mau Mau s would be totally illogical.
Instead, they have tried going the legal route, and, in doing so, have attempted to create a cross
cultural understanding by educating the leaders of ONHAE to interact with outsiders. ONHAE is an
organization of resistance, yet it works semi cooperatively with those that it was organized to resist.

Groupon was founded on November 2008 in Delaware. It took the framework of The Point , which
was launched a year earlier as a Do good Doer enterprise by Andrew Mason, CEO, and first funded by
Eric Lefkofsky, an entrepreneur. The core idea of Groupon is It s One deal a day, that the deal doesn t
go into effect until enough people buy the voucher, and that the vouchers should be for local
businesses. Andrew Mason decided the daily emails should have funny copy. It focused on group
buying power and helping people find interesting things to do in their city. Groupon s concept
immediately took off and became an overnight successful company.
Here is how it works: A business offers a deep discount for its good/service, for example, a restaurant
offered $40 value meals for the price of $20 via Groupon. The customer buys the voucher on Groupon
for $20, and then later redeems it at the restaurant at the value of $40. Groupon makes money by
charging a marketing fee for advertising and promoting their offers. In most cases, that fee is a
percentage of the revenue generated by selling on Groupon, normally about 30 50% commission.
Local business owners starting to sign up as part of their marketing strategy and spread the words to

apparent in order to maintain peaceful relations among nations in the post World War II era. The
United Nations (UN) came into effect on October 24, 1945 for this very purpose and also to reaffirm

war on Iraq, where the U.S. demonstrated the use of force to promote democracy as their method of
improving human rights.
The conclusion of World War II not only ended four years of bitter global warfare, but also marked the
creation of a new era for the United States. The United States emerged out of World War II not only
victorious but newly strengthened. The other Ally powers had proven victorious as well, but were
faced with much greater losses than the United States. The United States exited the war relatively
physically unharmed, economically revived, and diplomatically reinforced. The period of the Great
Depression that had lingered over the American people for twelve years was over. The country was
stimulated by economic growth and rising prosperity. The policies of American isolationism that had

Whitman envisioned for American in Leaves of Grass. Although Leaves of Grass is often considered

In this study we extensively extracted deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) from an unidentified segment of
flesh distributed amongst different lab groups. In order to do this, we dissolved the tissues and
extracted only the genetic material desired using the Qiagen DNeasy Blood Tissue extraction kit. We
then used forensic methods of genome identification in order to determine the genus and species of the
animal These methods include gel electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and Cycle Sequencing
Reactions. After isolating the DNA, we gathered electropherograms from the CSRs to determine the
nitrogenous base frequencies of the extracted sample using a genome alignment software program
called GENEIOUS. Using this aligned data, we compared the results to the online genome index
GenBank using the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST).
After analyzing the results of the alignment programs and the genome index, I determined the genus
and species of my group s sample as being Crotalus durissus, a pit viper located in Southern and
Central America. This data was determined with an E value of 2 x 10^ 5 and was taken from the

In the previous chapter, the literature on communicative competence has been discussed. The
researcher began with defining communicative competence and briefly talked about four theories and
five theoretical frameworks. Later on, the researcher talked about elements of communicative
competence as well as its sub elements and how to teach them with relations to the four language
skills. Finally, the researcher discussed communicative language teaching (CLT) as it depends on
communicative competence in its basis. So far, in this chapter, the researcher will talk about the
research design as well as the methodological tools that will be used in collecting data.
3.1 Research design and methods
3.1.1 Research design Research design provides the procedures by which the researcher can collect
the required data for answering the research questions. According to Griffee, a research design is an
operating model or blueprint for a research project, which accounts for internal reasoning (causality)
and external reasoning (generalizability) (41).
Interestingly, the researcher thoroughly consulted the existing knowledge in the field of
communicative competence so that he could get a clear and precise design to investigate the present
research problem. Particularly to what extent secondary school teachers of English language focus on

The data collected from questionnaire and registration forms were computerized and processed using
the calculation program excel. The results were in a descriptive manner with numbers and
percentages. The questions with open reply were analyzed by theme analysis. The results obtained
were extracts of statements presented by the district nurses (Friman, Klang Ebbeskog, 2010). Three
researchers were involved in data collection , all data collected were transcribed exactly same as it was
in the questionnaire, read and categorized according to what appeared from the data, this helped in
minimizing researcher bias.

Otherwise, the bank repays the entire face value of its liabilities, $facevalue$, to the creditors and

tried to keep the voting system as efficient as possible, with the least possible amounts of votes being

accurate count of the votes. Most machines cannot print a so called voter verified paper trail, so when
a politician demands a recount, most DREs will simply spit out the same set of disputed numbers

Hanging people in Salem was becoming more and more common since there was a new person being

still have fear of mass shootings, nonetheless the idea of a mass shooting is thought of less now than

In the 1930s, drought maintained its negative influence in all of the Plains for nearly 10 years. The
drought s primary characteristics of damage are regarded as agricultural for the most part. High
temperatures, lack of rain, insect infestations, and heavy winds all in unison with the dust storms that
accompanied these detrimental instances damaged countless crops. In addition to the Great Depression
s bank closures, various economic damages, increased unemployment, and other hardships, the
agricultural depression just worsened the situation in America. It is also important to note that the lack
of precipitation may have most likely affected the overall conditions of plant life and wildlife in a
negative manner, as well as caused potential shortages of water for various conventional purposes.
Although this almost always goes unnoticed by most readers, it is extremely important to

37. Marketing Unit Essay
Marketing Unit
Throughout this unit I am going to try to develop my own marketing strategy and techniques for the
company Tommy Hilfiger. The store that
I will be assessing is the Bluewater store. I will attempt to identify the methods and strategies that are
used by the company when promoting and trying to increase the sales of the Tommy Denim range of
jeans and clothing, I shall then attempt to develop my own, better strategies.
Marketing is essential to the success of any business. Its primary aim is to enable businesses to meet
the needs of their customers and potential customers, whether for profit or not but in the long term
hopefully increasing sales.

* The location of the unit within the shopping complex The situation of the store also adds to the
problems in the sense that the store is located on the upper mall in a section of the complex that is
surrounded by expensive, top brand named stores. This does not help as the younger target market
often do not browse around the area and stick to the sections where all of the high street brands are
situated.
* The current persona of the brand When people think of the Tommy Hilfiger label, they tend to think
of big flags and bold designs, which in today s market is uncalled for. People want discrete labels.
Also the Tommy Hilfiger range of clothing is associated more with the older, more mature and classic
age group of people and so this image of the brand needs to be overcome.
* Strong competition from more popular brands. Being situated in a shopping complex, there are
many other shops that provide similar, alternative denim products. Customers often opt for these
alternatives because they are cheaper or are accustomed with a better brand name.
By the analysis of various data that I shall collect from within the store I will attempt to come up with
a marketing strategy to promote the sales of the Tommy

38. Porter s Five Forces Industry Competition
Porter s Five Forces
Industry Competition / Intensity of Rivalry:
As with every industry and business, there is competition. In the case of the craft beer industry, the
competition is medium and growing. From challenging the big macro breweries, to battling against
new incoming brewery businesses, the craft beer industry is absolutely on the radar for competition.
Macro breweries are still the largest competitors with craft breweries. The major player in the craft
beer industry, according to IBISWorld, is The Boston Beer Company. It holds a market share in the
overall beer industry of only 2.7%, and a revenue of $885.5 million in 2014. In comparison to the
major players in the overall beer industry, Anheuser Busch InBev and MillerCoors ... Show more

If consumers prefer a specific beer and keep asking for it at bars, which only have a specific amount
of taps, will put that beer on more often to suit the increased demand. This makes the beer and the
brewery more popular, all the while intensifying the rivalry for bar space.
Suppliers:
The suppliers for craft beer include the source of the ingredients and the source of the materials used
in production. The craft beer industry relies on responsible, dependable, fresh supplies from different
industries to make production and distribution possible. The suppliers for production include various
industries for the basic ingredients; wheat, barley, soybean, corn, yeast, malt, nuts, sugar and water.
Other suppliers for distribution include the packaging industry, which consists of aluminum, glass,
cardboard, and containers. Smaller companies face a financial barrier here when attempting to make
flavorful beers that require high priced raw materials.
The lofty prices of high quality ingredients often act as a barrier to newcomers seeking to establish a
niche in the market. Lastly, the printing industry also plays a role as a supplier by printing labels. Due
to the uniqueness craft brewing methods, not all batches turn out the same, so the industry may have
to charge higher prices based on the cost of production. Since each craft beer style has a unique
measuring and brewing method, there is a large variety

39. The Role Of Believing In The Myth Of Arab Nationalism
In The Need for Understanding the West the author talks about the necessity for Arabs to learn and
adopt Western ideologies and societies to have a better future. Khashan praises Europe for their open
mindedness, stating that this aspect of European society is responsible for them becoming the
economic and the political focus of the world. He also talks about the failures of Arab societies from
foreign perspectives and also discusses how Arab nations are viewed as failures by other nations due
to their lack of successful leaders, and for not having a behavioural system that encourages hard work,
punctuality, and human rights. Finally, he asks Arabs to take a few notes from the West as a step
toward modernity, but not before they resolve their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The steady economic growth among the leaders would decrease and the nations would be able to deal
with the West and with foreign entities better. It was also created to establish trade, because all
countries would be united. The league was supposed to benefit every nation as a whole and give them
a presence in the world but the Arab states and their unwillingness to cooperate resulted in failure.
Politically and economically speaking, I think Khashan makes a powerful point when he talks about
how Arab countries must be a united front. Wealth has always been an issue in the Middle East. For
example, oil is a major issue as it has made the Gulf extremely wealthy while countries such as Syria
and Egypt are less privileged which causes tension amongst leaders and the countries. Arab countries
cannot be selfish when it comes to sharing the wealth amongst one another and must help each other

Rock and roll has developed a long way throughout the years from a dance craze in the 1950 s to a
political and cultural landscape that is recognized worldwide. Rock and roll has come to define the
roots of teenage rebellion, people who don t follow the norms, and have disrespect for authority. The
style of rock and roll itself is a melting pot of music, a combination of sounds that include jazz,
country, blues, ragtime, gospel, swing, classical, and ethnic music. It can be a simple variation of three
chords to a complex chromatic scale combination. It can convey emotions such as love, hate, fear,

The Grateful Dead fused country, blues, jazz, and bluegrass on electric instruments and held acid tests
where LSD was given to thousands of people and a concert was held all day. Janis Joplin was also a
major part of the psychedelic era. Blues also heavily influenced Janis, who greatly admired the female
blues singer Odetta (Kallen 65). Janis is most remembered for her heavily emotional voice in songs
such as Piece of My Heart and Ball and Chain where she sang with her face contorted, sometimes
stamping her feet, clutching the microphone with one hand, and a whiskey bottle with the other. Of all
the artists of the psychedelic era, Jimi Hendrix was the most influential. Jimi took inspiration from the
soulful guitar of blues players and developed his own style from it. Jimi was left handed and played
his Stratocaster guitar upside down while creating unearthly sounds that humbled other guitarists of
the time. Hendrix was unknown until playing at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 where he played
an amazing array of songs and then lit his guitar on fire at the end of the show (DeCurtis 133).
Although Jimi seemed like a very wild and unpredictable person on stage he was actually a focused
musician, that part of Jimi s personality is explained in this quote by Ernie Isley: The best musicians
are very observant. They hold their arms wide, willing to embrace suggestions; they study their craft,
and Jimi certainly did all that. (Lanham 102) But as

42. Iris Marion Young s Birdcage
Iris Marion Young in her famous birdcage metaphor depicts how a system of laws, institutions, and
practices function as a system in order to restrict the social freedom of minorities (Alexander 184).
Drawing from examples in certain sociology novels, I will exhibit how the wires of the birdcage work
together to subordinate minorities to the bottom of a racial hierarchy. Furthermore, I will demonstrate
why individuals like Dr. Gregorry McGriff feel like they need to go through life at 55 MPH.
In the 1980s millions of people in inner city communities, predominantly minorities were left
unemployed due to deindustrialization and the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs. As explained in the

Women in the inner cities were forced to join the workforce in order to fill the financial void left by
the absent men of the communities (Collins and Mayer 27). However, unlike the factory jobs that paid
a living wage and provided benefits to its employees, these service sector jobs were under the terms of
the solitary wage bargain (Class Lecture 1/19/16). Under these new terms, the women in these jobs
were assumed to be ideal workers, meaning that they were given rigid schedules and paid minimum
wage with no benefits. Unfortunately, these low income women had children to take care of and
families to support on their own, so they often sought out public assistance to make ends meet.
However, the welfare to work reform can be considered another wire in the birdcage because it left
many poor minorities lacking the assistance they desperately needed. Its goal to reduce caseloads
afforded caseworkers the ability to discriminate among needy women based on race (Collins and
Mayer 60). Additionally, as Alexander explains, the reformed welfare program barred individuals with
drug related felony convictions from receiving federally funded assistance, (157). So, when the
African American men were out of prison, they couldn t receive Welfare to help support their children
or families. This policy, alongside others, serves to keep minorities in an inferior racial

Sociologists use the three major paradigms of sociology to define social problems considering that
they are complex in nature. Functionalism focuses on the entire social system and how well it is

help to restore balance. On the contrary, Conflict Theory corresponds to functionalism due to the fact
that it targets the entire social system. Its only difference is conflict theory centers multiple groups
fighting to gain power, furthermore it just shows inequality. Symbolic Interactionism focal point are

The first step is choosing a topic, that is easily done by deciding what you need the answers to. The
next step would be to conduct a literature review or study to help assist in better researching the topic.
The literature review sustains other viewpoints from writers that can be evaluated for your research.
Thirdly you are to form a hypothesis to develop your theory, it establishes the evidence of events that
creates testable predictions. Collecting data is your fourth step to carry out, that fact is getting the
information together. Two types of studies that are being used are longitudinal studies, meaning using
the same group of individuals for data from observations over time. Focusing on a single event is
referred to as cross sectional studies, more so, surveys and field research is used to collect data too.
The fifth step is to analyse the results, this step requires understanding statistics thoroughly; so
interpreting data is seriously vital in this stage. Central tendacy are the numbers inside the group of
numbers, it has three measures including, the mean, median, and mode. Finally the last step for
completion is share and publish the results, the end result should reflect back on every step that was
done. The American Sociological Association style guide can be used as a guide since everyone is

The scanning electron microscope (SEM) is one of the most versatile instruments available for the
examination and analysis of the microstructure morphology and chemical composition
characterizations. It is necessary to know the basic principles of light optics in order to understand the
fundamentals of electron microscopy. Light microscopy has been, and continues to be, of great
importance to scientific research. Since the discovery that electrons can be deflected by the magnetic
field in numerous experiments in the 1890s [1], electron microscopy has been developed by replacing
the light source with high energy electron beam. The radius of Airy disk is defined as the distance

3.3 Advantages and disadvantages of SEM
In part, it is true that Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) present a many advantages, the more
important are: (i) higher resolution of visualization microbial biofilms (Walker et al.,
2001) than other imaging techniques, typically 3.5 nm, (ii) able to measure and quantify data in three
dimensions. However, this technique utilizes graded solvents (alcohol, acetone, and xylene) to
gradually dehydrate the specimen prior to examination, since water of hydration is not compatible
with the vacuum used with the electron beam. While any pretreatment can alter specimen morphology,
drying appears to significantly alter biofilms due to EPS polymers collapsing (Fassel Edmiston, 1999;
Little et al., 1991). The dehydration process results in significant sample distortion and artifacts; the

47. Romeo And Juliet Tragic Tragedy
To believe in love, to be ready to give up anything for it, to be willing to risk your life for it, is the
ultimate tragedy (DiCaprio). In both of these stories there is the similarity of young love ending in
tragedy. Both sets of lovers feel defined by nothing but their weaknesses. Romeo feels like he can
never be enough for Juliet because he is just a Montague. Being a Montague is what he lets define
him. Hazel feels as if she can never be known as anything besides a cancer patient. She lets this define
her. Romeo and Juliet could never be together because of their families, and Hazel and Augustus could
never be together because of their diseases. In both cases fate was not on their side. Romeo is cursed
by his last name as Augustus is cursed by his cancer. Romeos last name Montague is his cancer. In the
stories Romeo and Juliet and The fault in our Stars the author reveals that going through tragedy is
worth it for love. Romeo and Juliet were cursed by their families names. They knew in their hearts
that because of this affliction that their love was doomed from the beginning. But they also new that it
was going to be worth it in the end to them. Come, gentle night, come, loving, black brow d night,
Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make
the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the
