Revolutionary War Dbq Questions And Answers
Revolutionary War Quiz The Revolution War started because the British king, King George III, was
treating the colonies very poor, making unjust laws, making the colonists pay taxes for the French and
Indian war, sending over soldiers to in force the laws, making the colonists house the British soldiers
and the soldiers ate and drank all the colonists had. After awhile of this abuse the colonists had enough
of it and they started to revolt against the British by tarring and feathering the tax collectors, making
mob, throwing tea overboard British ships, Boston Tea Party, and boycotting British goods. Once the
King heard of this he sent more troops and closed down the Boston Harbor and told the colonists they

They also had European connections to France and Poland. The Americans also had great
commanding, leadership, and strategies. With these strengths they also had weaknesses. George
Washington, head general of the Colonies armies/militias were very short of men, no more than
20,000 at a time. They lacked in supplies, gunpowder, guns, food, and clothing. They also lacked in
training, only some of the soldiers had training because they were previously hunters and the count

fight with the British. The British had a lot of supplies, ammunition, weapons, food, gunpowder, and
clothing. They also had A LOT more military experience. With all these strengths the British also had
weaknesses. The distance between England and the Colonies was to great and sending troops, and
supplies was very difficult. News of the battles came way too late, and it made it hard to command.
The King couldn t convince the British people that beating the colonists was a vital goal, and they had

Three Must Destinations in Lakeland
To a tourist visiting Florida, there is a break he can pass on distant from the tedious rides in the iconic
theme parks of Disneyworld in Orlando or the fine white sand beaches in the Tampa area. This is
particularly so when the trip involves a family. Cost notwithstanding, Lakeland, located 42 minutes
from the theme parks from the East and about 45 minutes West to the Tampa shores of Central Florida,
offer places to travel that are loose on the budget.

How Did Germany Lose Ww2
In the beginning of World War II, Germany seemed to be on a path to dominating Europe. Our world
could be vastly different politically, technologically, and socially if this had happened, but it didn t.
Why is this? While Germany led many campaigns during World War II, it seems like one caused it to
lose the war: Germany s loss of North Africa in 1943 eventually led to its downfall. This is because
the North African failure was a massive loss of resources and morale and because it gave the Allies a
geographic advantage. It started Germany on a slow decline that lasted until it finally surrendered in
1945. One of the primary reasons the North African campaign was so damaging was because of the
resources lost by its failure. The Germans lost thousands of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The largest of these was access to the Mediterranean and Italy. Up until this point, routes of delivery
[from the Allies to the USSR] were long, roundabout, and difficult because the Mediterranean and the
Baltic were closed to Allied cargo vessels. (Greenfield, 228) Now, using ports and outposts in Africa,
the Mediterranean was open and the USSR could get the reinforcements it needed to begin its fatal
push into Germany. At the same time, Britain and the US were able to begin the Italian campaign,
overthrowing one of Germany s main allies and supporters and beginning their own push into
Germany. Losing control of Africa provided the Allies with a strategic advantage that Germany didn t
have the resources to cope with. Throughout the second World War, Germany was involved in
campaigns across the world, from Europe to the Pacific to Asia. One of the most influential was the
one in North Africa. The North African campaign began the decline of Germany in World War II
because its failure brought with it large losses of resources, morale, and strategic

Research Paper On American Atheism
American Atheism and Why it Exists
Atheism is disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods, they reject religion as apart of
not only a rejection of ignorance, but also a rejection of their religious family and association of
religion itself, says Catherine L. and Caldwell Harris who are published in the Department of
Psychology for Boston University, Lesley College,University of Haifa, and Trinity College. This is a
stark contrast to theism, which is the belief in god and is the case for many Americans. This
demographic is about 83% of America s population, according to the most recent census. About 16%
of the population, or about 34,169,000 people are of an unaffiliated position, which would include

they decided to stop their belief and 13% said they never believed, 29% said they did when they were
less than fifteen years old, 37% said they decided to become atheist between the ages of 15 and 24 and
21% said they did past the age of 25. Finally they asked why they did become atheist. Almost half,
47%, said that it didn t make logical sense to them, 12% said that it didn t comply with conventional
science, 9% said it was because of a negative experience when they were young, 15% said it was
because of the hypocrisy of religion and the church, 3% said that God didn t meet an expectation they
had, and a surprising 6% said they couldn t remember. Finally 21% gave very specific reasons why,
saying that college opened their eyes or that there was a person in the sky watching them but also how
patriarchal the church is and its obsession with obedience and punishment. This shows a trend in why
most left religion. One is that it didn t make sense nor does it work with science, or they did liked how
the church felt or worked which pushed them away to soon become atheists.
Catherine L. and Caldwell Harris s research was to find the personality differences between the

History Of Druidism
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information as to where exactly Druidism originates and what
sort of practices they experienced. Most of what was learned of Druidism was communicated orally,
which is a major reason I believe as to why there is so many missing elements or inconsistent
information. Across the board people mainly agree that it began in Europe. From some writings of
Julius Caesar, people had believed it began in Britain. Druidism is a religion that is practiced by the
Celts or Celtic people. The genealogy of the Druids begins roughly 25,000 years ago when any of the
first demonstration of any sacred or spiritual practices were discovered in Europe (The order of Bards
Ovates and Druids, A Brief History of Druidry, par 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After my research I have found that Druidry is more of a spiritual path than anything, concentrating
mostly on being animists (the belief that nature is enlivened or energized by distinct personalized
spirit beings separate from bodies). Druids tend to rejoice and meditate outside becoming one with
nature, though this is not the only way for the Druids (The Order of Bards Ovates and Druids, Druid
Beliefs, par 2). Since the core motivation of this group is nature...they consider themselves to be
healers and teachers, this is one thing that all who follow Druidism have in common, but not all
Druids have the same set of beliefs as far as whether a God is involved. After learning about
monotheism, animists and polytheism in Chapter 13 of our Cultural Anthropology textbook just
recently, I had also learned that there are monotheistic and polytheistic Druids. Monotheism being the
belief of only one supremely powerful divinity as creator and master of the universe and polytheism
being the belief in multiple gods or goddesses (Cultural Anthropology: The Human Challenge,

My experience with the Org Fair was quite overwhelming due to the amounts of organizations and the
amount of people. There were tons of organizations that wanted you to join and at times it was
overwhelming because they would use food as an influencing factor. In addition to all the
organizations, the amount of people was a problem, so walking from table to table became extremely
difficult. Overall, my experience while at the Org Fair was very successful because I was able to sign
up for the organizations I wanted to sign up for. Also, after I signed up for what I wanted, I felt even

Conflict Management at Miami Dade Public School
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AT MIAMI DADE PUBLIC SCHOOL
Disruptive behavior in schools has been a source of concern for school systems for several years.
Indeed, the single most common request for assistance from teachers is related to behavior and
classroom management. Classrooms with frequent disruptive behaviors have less academic engaged
time, and the students in disruptive classrooms tend to have lower grades and do poorer on
standardized tests. Furthermore, attempts to control disruptive behaviors cost considerable teacher
time at the expense of academic instruction. School discipline issues such as disruptive behavior and
violence also have an increased effect on teacher stress and burnout (Smith Smith, 2006). There is a
significant body of research attesting to the fact that classroom organization and behavior management
competencies significantly influence the persistence of new teachers in their teaching careers
(Ingersoll Smith, 2003). New teachers typically express concerns about effective means to handle
disruptive behavior (Browers Tomic, 2000). Teachers who have significant problems with behavior
management and classroom discipline often report high levels of stress and symptoms of burnout and
are frequently ineffective (Berliner, 1986; Browers Tomic, 2000; Espin Yell, 1994). The ability of
teachers to organize classrooms and manage the behavior of their students is critical to achieving both
positive educational outcomes for students and teacher

Slavery By Another Name Thesis
Ratified by the states in the winter of 1865, the Thirteenth Amendment was put into play. It declared,
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude...shall exist within the United States or any place subject to
their jurisdiction. (Primary Documents). Officially, this amendment outlawed the practice of slavery,
there was, however, an exception. That exception was the use of involuntary servitude, or slavery, as a
form of punishment. More than four million African Americans walked free in 1865, this had a rather
negative impact on the Southern economy. And so came the Convict lease system. Many white
Southerners saw this system as a solution to their economic hardships; nonetheless, it was often seen
as being worse than slavery. In addition to the convict lease system was the practice of Sharecropping
and Peonage. These forms of subjugation brought even greater distress to the newly freed African
Americans. Despite the ratifying of the Thirteenth Amendment the abhorrent treatment of this newly
freed race did not change significantly thanks to programs like the Convict Lease system, Peonage,
and Sharecropping.
The novel Slavery by Another Name by Douglas A. Blackmon tells of the hardships the newly freed
slaves faced, as well as following the life of a young African American man by the name of Green
Cottenham. Born in the 1880s to two former slaves, was then arrested for vagrancy in 1908, was
leased out by the state of Alabama to work in a U.S. Steel coal mine, where he is

Title I almost fell out of the plane s window. As the plane made its way around for landing, the rigid
and uneven surface of Arizona came into view. There was almost nothing to see besides the desert
itself. Excitement fluttered through my body as the plane landed, and people exited the plane.
Annoyance, problems, and stress were forgotten on the plane when we finally walked out into the
glistening sun. Used to the rude and impatient crowd in Chicago, my family and I anticipated to be at
the airport for at least an hour, examining luggage after luggage until ours were found. It took us 15
minutes at most. Our next mission was to find a rental car agency. A few passengers from the flight
realized we were a bit confused and that it was our first time in Arizona; one guided us over to a
shuttle that would take us to an agency. After what felt like 5 minutes, the Jeep Wrangler rolled up,

The Song Of Myself By Walt Whitman And Howl
Both Song of Myself by Walt Whitman and Howl by Allen Ginsberg are important pieces of American
poetry. Song of Myself was written in the 1850 s and Howl was written about a century later. Both
poets were part of groups that wanted to change America the Transcendentalists and the Beats.
Transcendentalists believed in the goodness of people and nature. They believe that people are at their
best when they are truly independent. The Beats rejected standard values and materialism. They
experimented with drugs and sexuality. Both movements tended to portray the wilderness as heavenly,
while thinking that human nightlife was too showy. Both of these groups were fully American literary
movements. Both poets mention nature in the poems. Both poets write about their reactions to the
politics of their time. The poems were rebellions against the commonalities of their cultures. Whitman
and Ginsberg both believed in democracy. They both protested against industrialization and tradition.
Both poets wrote in dangerous times. They wanted to take a stand against what they thought was
wrong with the world. They both wanted to take on the burden of being true to what America is really
supposed to be. Both poets were gay. Also, both poets were very young at the time that they wrote
these poems. Ginsberg was greatly influenced by Whitman when writing Howl . While writing, he
was even reading some of Whitman s poems. He wanted his world to be like how Whitman saw his

The book The Family Romanov: Murder, Rebellion and the Fall of Imperial Russia by Candace

Romanov family had ruled Russia, and were the last imperial dynasty to ever take the throne. Tsar
Nicholas and Tsarina Alexandra had five children, consisting of only one eligible heir to Russia. The
author s purpose of writing this book was to explain the downfall of one Russia s most important
families. Candace Fleming wrote the book to give insight and share her knowledge on how the

lead to their murders. On May 26, 1896, Nicholas Romanov was crowned Tsar of Russia after his

Good Country People Characters
Flannery O Connor s Good Country People is a seemingly two dimensional story based around Hulga
Hopewell, a pessimistic atheist, who lives in an old fashioned country home alongside her mother,
Mrs. Hopewell, some others include the farmhand, Mrs. Freeman, and Mrs. Freeman s two daughters,
Carramae and Glynese. Throughout the story, Mrs. Hopewell, along with the other characters, assert
their views to hulga that good country people are the foundation of living a good life. The story
compares and contrasts these distinctive character views in order to create a more realistic and three
dimensional outlook from the context. After reading over the story a few times, I noticed a lot of
consistency with the underlying meanings that the author ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of looking down on her for getting involved with every one s business, Mrs. Hopewell looks at
this as a positive quality by letting her be responsible for everything around the house. When it comes
to her treatment toward Hulga however, Mrs. Hopewell seems to lack a certain sense of sympathy; for
example, when she would ask Hulga for help in the fields, she would tell her If you can t come
pleasantly, I don t want you at all . This suggests an obvious intolerance for her negative behavior. The
relationship between Hulga and her mother seems to be that of a disobedient child and her intolerant
mother. Regardless of Hulga s accomplishments, Mrs. Hopewell still seems incapable of getting past
her negative attitude. For example, she believes college did nothing to break her out of her shell even
though Hulga went through years of school to get her Ph. D in Philosophy. Mrs. Hopewell claims she

Romans . On top of her school accomplishments, Mrs. Hopewell also finds a problem with Hulga s

The Positive And Negative Aspects Of Hospitalization
Healthcare is an issue that affects people all around the world. Many countries have adopted different
perspectives on how to solve this problem. Two of the main solutions to the healthcare problem are a
free market healthcare system or a national healthcare system. Both of these positions have positive
and negative attributes that come into play when they are compared with one another. These systems
create an environment where the majority of people receive healthcare but in different ways.
Healthcare is something that allows people to use hospitals and other facilities at a reduced cost. This
enables people to get check ups and immunizations without paying for the full cost of the visit. In the
case where hospitalization occurs healthcare covers a large portion of the costs to stay in the hospital
and the procedures that you may undergo while you are in the hospital. Healthcare becomes very
important to individuals all around the world with the price of hospitals and other facilities rising. This
rise in prices is making it hard for people to get the appropriate care they need without having
insurance companies pay for part of the expenses. A national healthcare system, also called universal
healthcare, is one where every citizen is provided with some healthcare coverage whether it be from
the government or private industries. Some, but not all, of national healthcare systems are single payer
healthcare systems. A single payer healthcare system is where one agency,

The Rise In Conspiracy Theories
Conspiracy theories have a massive influence on our society through literature, film and music. Such
conjectures may be absurd to the commoner, but they serve an important psychological, and
sociological, purpose in their practice. Conspiracies often target the powerful from the position of the
powerless, reaching to explain what otherwise is unexplainable, or unsatisfactory when explained.
These are an important aspect of democratic society, even if some speculations can reach into the
extremes of absurdity. Often, these conspiracy theories express discontent with government powers.
The rise in conspiracy theories against the government, stemming from events such as the Kennedy
assassination, led to a decrease in trust in federal intentions (Issitt and Newton). This increasing
distrust led to a chain reaction of conspiracy theories as the approval rate of the government dropped
from 80% to 25% in the timespan of 40 years (Issitt and Newton). Questioning of the intent of
officials, such as the accusation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

they would meet at an end consisting of active discrimination. Yet, those same critics that claim
generalization on the part of theorists fall into hypocrisy. To claim that these proposals are for the
advancement of bigoted dogmas is in itself a generalization of the whole of conspiracy theories. While
it is true that people, such as Hitler, used preconceived ideas on race to create conjectures for political
gain, the majority of theories are benign in this aspect, and sometimes beneficial. Therefore, while
conspiracy theories posing immediate threat towards a specific group should be looked into, the bulk
of these conjectures should be left as they are, rather than being

Corporate Law Firms And Small Private Law Companies
1. A private law firm is a law firm that generates its income mainly from the attorney (and paralegal)
fees paid by clients (Statsky 35). This type of law firm includes the largest percentage of working
paralegals at 70%. A private law firm typically works in general practice, which means that they might
have multiple practice areas. Within the division of private law firms, there are two other subdivisions:
larger private law firms and smaller private law firms. Paralegals in larger private law firms typically
have better benefits and are paid more. They also usually specialize in one area of law, and there is a
likely a career ladder in that firm. On the other hand, the paralegals in smaller private law firms often
have more variety in their work, but they also may have a handful of clerical tasks to complete. While
there is not much of a career ladder, these paralegals tend to have more contact with clients.
Corporations can have in house law departments in which the only client is the corporation itself.
These in house law departments are usually headed by the general counsel, who acts as the chief
attorney. On average, there are about seventeen attorneys and five paralegals per corporate law
department. The paralegals typically have high pay and very good benefits. They do not have many
clerical tasks to complete, and a career ladder for paralegals exists. They tend to have a narrowly
defined role in corporate law departments. In the government, there are three

Cressey s Theory

between the years 1934 1947. It is actually considered, according to Donald R. Cressey in the
Criminal Law Commons Journal, as the best formulation to date of a general theory of criminality by
most sociologists. This theory states that criminals who are not exposed to non criminal behaviors
further develop criminal mindsets and motives. Cressey sums up the theory by stating it as ...

His theory has a nine proposition outline. 1) Criminal behavior is learned. 2) Criminal behavior is
learned through communication and social interactions, not necessarily because they have only or at
all, witnessed it. 3) Newspapers, film, television, or other forms of impersonal types of
communicating are less influencing to deviance than being involved in personal groups such as
inmates or rough friends. 4) Not only are techniques used to commit crimes learned behaviors, but so
are the motivations, rationalization, and individual s attitude. 5) The way a culture views concepts as
deviant or not deviant is how individuals learn pro criminal and anti criminal understandings of the
law. 6) Just being around criminal behavior does not necessarily mean one will become a criminal. It

White Trash Primer Analysis
Lacy M. Johnson and Amy Tan came from two entirely different backgrounds. Johnson had come
from a southern, rural family, while Tan had come from a Chinese family living in America. Johnson
wrote the short story White Trash Primer, which is from the book Trespasses: A Memoir, and Tan s
Two Kinds is an excerpt from her book The Joy Luck Club. Even though these authors are entirely
different, they share similar qualities in their writing styles such as language, imagery and symbolism.
They also share a connected message which is that whatever you do, no matter if it is something hard
or if you are going through hard times, as long as you try your best you will be able to achieve your
goal. In Johnson s White Trash Primer, Johnson tells the story of living on a farm, growing up in a
poor family and going through hard times. Johnson tells how she overcomes the obstacles that she had
to deal with in her life. This leaves the reader with the message that, no matter how hard life is, as long
as you push through you will be able to do anything you set your mind to. The line You hide that you

In Two Kinds Tan compares herself to Christ, when dreaming of the idea of becoming a prodigy child.
I was like the Christ child lifted out of the straw manger, crying with holy indignity (Tan 386). This is

Relationships In Pride And Prejudice
Marriage is often thought of as a union between two people; a promise that is supposed to last a life
time. In today s world, reality reigns. Marriage is often broken, or held together due to legality. A
promise does not mean the same as it did in yester year. Despite this ugly truth, young men and
women still dream of the time when they will say I do before their family and friends. However, often
times we as young people get mired in the process of finding a mate, rather than enjoying the
company of others. Whether it is for political or religious reasons, relationships have the potential to
get mucked up. Luckily for today s generation, one person has witnessed this, and wrote about this
process in her novels. This woman s name is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elizabeth continually allows for mishaps to happen, even rejecting the incredibly wealthy and
handsome Mr. Darcy. This seems to be Elizabeth s way of showing that she, as a woman, has a form
of power that men cannot take away; the power of saying no. Austen reveals this in chapter 34 when
Darcy declares his love for Elizabeth. How he does it, though, is peculiar. He proclaims his love
boisterously, yet in private with Elizabeth. Darcy tactfully reveals his feelings for her, hoping that she
will be moved and not falter now that they are alone. In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My
feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.
(Austen ch. 34) Here, Darcy vocally forces himself on her, believing that his passion will invoke a
flare within Elizabeth to say yes. Much to Darcy s disappointment, Elizabeth rejects him, only to
accept him later. I view her actions as being suitable for her circumstance. She rejects his offer,
because she does not passionately have feelings for him. She, later, accepts Darcy when she does in
fact have feelings for him. This is an empowering story for the women of Austen s time. Many readers
would ask why Austen would do this. I believe that Austen I empowering young women to stand for
what they want and what they believe. When this novel was written, women s rights were abysmal;

Explain the Difference Between Mendelian and Non-Mendelian...
A discussion of the Progress made so far in understanding the Genetic Architecture of Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia: An Elusive Complex Disorder
A discussion of the Progress made so far in understanding the Genetic Architecture of Schizophrenia
Mendelian diseases conform to Mendel s laws of genetic inheritance; segregation and independent
assortment. Therefore, every pair of alleles in diploid organisms, are separated during meiosis and one
allele for every trait is passed onto one of the two daughter cells, independently of all other genes.
Thus, depending on the recessive or dominant status of both alleles for a gene, an individual may or
may not develop a simple disorder where one gene is sufficient causality (Mendel, 1865). In ... Show

Thus implying either oligogenic or polygenic architecture, with the number of genes and extent of
epistasis yet to be clarified (Owen M.J., 2005). To emulate the observed risk to relatives pattern
several variants may be combined in a multiplicative way, as demonstrated by the S curve in figure 2,
where individuals with more than 43 risk alleles will develop the disorder.

Exchange models such as the liability threshold model (LTM), figure 3, can also model Schizophrenia.
Both models can be created for many combinations of allele number, frequency, effect size predicting
a steep rise in disease probability for a small percentage of the population. In the LTM all individuals
have unknown liability with both an environmental and genetic component, presentation is sporadic,
limited to those that meet the threshold.

LTM is parameterized solely on the total variance the genetic architecture is accountable for making it
a good model to hypothesise upon as it requires no explicit assumptions for; allele number, frequency
and effect size. LTM supports the current range of exchangeable genetic models that have varying
hypothesis but limited statistical differentiation (Wray N. R., 2010). Reduced fecundity in patients
decreases genetic variance whilst de novo mutations exert the opposite force, neither of which can be

Venice Economy Benefits
To benefit my business and also yours, it would be in everyone s best interest to visit one of the five
major city states to better the wealth of both of us as merchants so that you can trade more and so that
I have more to trade with, and specifically of what. Venice is a city with no roads. The houses are built
along the canals. This means that it is of easy access to those trading by sea to the Mediterranean
because they will not have to travel inland to trade. Although Venice itself does not have a natural
resources, nearby cities have been conquered for farmland, so there are little natural resources. Venice
is the center of trade because of its location. The currency here by gold coins, called the ducat, has a
reliable worth and is valued everywhere. There is a strong economy because of the amount of trade
occurring here. The population is obviously a well enough amount because of all of the trade
occurring here. A labor skill needed here are mercenaries because Venice does not have an army of its
own. People from all over the world come here to trade, so it is to be assumed that many different
languages are spoken because of the trading by so many different areas. This city itself is a cultural

The Architecture in Melbourne
The architecture in Melbourne is characterised by a substantial juxtaposition of old and new
architecture. Where there are old architectural buildings that are an icon of Melbourne, there are also
more recent buildings that have built a reputation of a Melbourne Icon. These more recent icons are
known as The Melbourne Museum and Federation Square.
Both the Melbourne Museum and Federation Square started off as a competition for architects to
design the new building, whoever came up with the best concept/design would be the designer of the
building or space. The Melbourne Museum competition was announced in 1994 where it was also
opened for architects to design. The same chance for architects was given to design a new civic square
, known as Federation Square we see today. The Victorian Government held this competition in 1996
and was announced to be an international competition. With the Centenary of Federation celebrations
coming up in 2001, the main idea of the design was to generate a cultural space in the Melbourne
CBD. The designs and the final plans for the Melbourne Museum were presented in May 1995, where
Denton Corker Marshall (DCM) Architects won the competition. Lab Architects, which was based in
London at that time, was to partner up with Bates Smart to design this new cultural space, where Bates
Smart was considered to be one of the most prominent architecture firms in Melbourne. Federation
Square began construction in 1998. These two buildings/spaces were

Japanese Literature Throughout History And History
In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it
really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō.
Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the
teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is
a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō
became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are
constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing
presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the
impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the
traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki
shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that
themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies
how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world.
Immediately, Kamo introduces Hōjōki with a smooth, pessimistic, poetic tone, describing the
impermanence of foam floating in a river pool. This gives the reader an abrupt sense of sadness which
is further produced through a direct

Obligatory To Polish Tradition Analysis
First, I am not a morning person. I never have been and I never will be. Second, I do not like wearing

Obligatory to Polish tradition, my family and I dress up in our krakowiaki, or traditional Polish folk

we walk around the church, throw flower petals, and sing hymns to celebrate Jesus Christ rising from

Queen Elizabeth 1
Elizabeth I of England was the queen for forty five years. She was often referred to as Good Queen
Bess, Gloriana, or the Virgin Queen. During her reign, Elizabeth was imprisoned, threatened by
conspiracy, dealt with impending warfare, and had to answer to the question of marriage so she and
her country would survive. She had endured so much and brought so much culture during her reign
that it s not surprising that her long reign is called the Elizabethan Era, or the Golden Age of England.
Elizabeth Tudor, better known as Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland, was the last ruler the

This gave Catholic countries, such as France and Spain, another reason to attack England and also
brought on threats to the Queen, along with assassinations and attempts to overthrow her so that her
cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots, could be queen. As many Catholics tried to take the throne away from
Elizabeth I, she decided to imprison Mary, Queen of Scots for twenty years before beheading her.
Since Elizabeth I was excommunicated, she was forced to impose harsher laws on Catholics and
helped Protestants in Spanish Holland rebel. This made the Spanish Armada attempt to invade
England in 1588, but the English navy was able to defeat them. Many say that weather conditions had
to do with the victory, along with the fact that Sir Francis Drake was a sea dog that was in the English
navy at the time. Elizabeth I would also use her single status to deal with these attacks and to get out
of major warfare with Spain or France. She would often threaten to marry foes of other s and she
would court many men, including Eric XIV of Sweden, Archduke Charles of Austria, Henry, Duke of
Anjou, and Francis, Duke of Anjou and Alençon. She was able to navigate through many political and
foreign affairs through these courtships, which kept England out of trouble. Later, Elizabeth I was

The Natural Cognitive Process Is Based On Our Own...
When others look at someone, multiple things are processed in the brain at one time. How that
individual looks, the color of their skin, and even favorable features they have. What we truly see
outside of the natural cognitive process is based on our own experiences with other individuals. Our
familiarity with situations as well as general perceptions of people can determine how we view one
another. In this day and age popular culture has undoubtedly affected our natural view of the
individual. When thinking about large groups of people, we categorize them by societal preconceived
notions. They are Black, they are White, these are the nice people, and those are the mean people. This

In an excerpt below from one of the earliest periodicals, The Slave s Friend a description is provided.
The above picture shows how an African appears in his native country. See that elephant s tusk
leaning against him. The Africans sell them for ivory, and they are made into a great many useful
articles in this country. The African appears free and independent, but he is a heathen. He looks abroad
upon nature, but knows little, or nothing, of nature s God. The kidnappers very often seize the children
while they are at play, when their parents are absent, carry them to the boats in the rivers, and then to
the slave ships that are at anchor, or lying to, not a great way off. They then take them over the seas to
South America, to the West Indies, and even to the United States, never, never to return to their native
land as freemen. There they sell them as slaves, and there they have to work, and suffer, and weep. O,
how my heart bleeds for them. (The Slaves Friend) The image of an African gave way to a widespread
stereotype of what people from that continent looked like and how they lived. The image had savage
and wilderness filled overtones that took away any sort of civilized tendencies that the African may
have had. Looking at the exact words used to define the individual, The African appears free and
independent, but he is a heathen. He looks abroad upon nature, but knows little, or

Captain Marco Ramius is portrayed by the actor Sir. Sean Connery (who is known for numerous films

As the film begins the story line is suggested to be true, but denied by all officials. Here is an

Marketing Of A Global Economy
The concept of the sharing economy is still relatively new and many still have no clue what sharing
means. While time sharing has been around for quite a while; the sharing economy goes beyond time
sharing houses for vacations. Some have begun to share their vehicles and even starting friendly taxi
type companies that offer cheaper rides than the tradition taxi companies. Many have embraced the
sharing economy as it is found to be a great value to the consumer. However, companies are seeing it
as a serious threat to their business. The debate goes back and forth as to whether the importance of
consumer value is in fact causing the replacement of traditional business. The biggest concern is that
the sharing economy will thrive and traditional businesses will continue to suffer the loss of customers
unless they lower prices and get more competitive. However, for some businesses sticking it out and
being more competitive could potentially lead to more financial loss than merely closing up shop.
Marketing in a Global Economy Marketing in our economy has become harder and harder as the age
of technology grows and billions of people see and ignore advertisements in every aspect of their life.

A Certain Lady Poem Analysis
The poem A Certain Lady is consisted of twelve stanzas with two lines in each stanza. Parker uses an
iambic pentameter in this poem. I think that she uses this type of structure to create a rhythmic feel.
Parker wants this rhythmic feel to display how the speaker was talking to her husband. The iambic
pentameter is not relevant in lines twelve and twenty four. These two lines do not follow the iambic
pentameter due to the speaker thinking that her husband will never know how she feels or what she is
doing. This poem consists of an end rhyme and has a rhyme scheme of ABAB. An example of a
rhyme that is used in the poem is in line one, which ends in head and line three which ends in red .
In the poem, you do not obtain a sense of who the speaker is until well into the poem. By just reading
the title I thought that the speaker of the poem would have been a guy talking about a certain lady in
his life that he is in love with. I soon developed a sense of who the real speaker was in line three, in
which is stated and paint my mouth for you a fragrant red . After I read that line, I soon started to see
images of a woman with red lipstick. In my mind, I started to think that the speaker of this story seems
to be a woman in her 20 s or 30 s and she seems to be talking to her husband. By reading the entire
poem and the imagery that Parker uses, I had determined that the woman was talking about infidelity.
This poem consists of imagery to make the reader create pictures in their mind about what is going on.
An example of imagery that Parker uses is in line two which states eager lips and in line six which
says raptured eyes are used to describe the speaker s husband and how he was glad to be talking about
his infidelity with her. Parker is painting a scene in which the woman is trying to seduce her husband,
however, he does not care about her; he cares more about the other women he has been with. The
details Parker uses portrays the speaker in my mind to be quiet a person and not saying anything to her
husband though he is hurting her, which is why I do not like the husband because he does not see what
is right in front of him. Readers can infer that the woman is not happy as soon as she states and all the

  • 6. How Did Germany Lose Ww2 In the beginning of World War II, Germany seemed to be on a path to dominating Europe. Our world could be vastly different politically, technologically, and socially if this had happened, but it didn t. Why is this? While Germany led many campaigns during World War II, it seems like one caused it to lose the war: Germany s loss of North Africa in 1943 eventually led to its downfall. This is because the North African failure was a massive loss of resources and morale and because it gave the Allies a geographic advantage. It started Germany on a slow decline that lasted until it finally surrendered in 1945. Most of what was learned of Druidism was communicated orally, which is a major reason I believe as to why there is so many missing elements or inconsistent information. Across the board people mainly agree that it began in Europe. From some writings of Julius Caesar, people had believed it began in Britain. Druidism is a religion that is practiced by the Celts or Celtic people. • 10. Conflict Management at Miami Dade Public School CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AT MIAMI DADE PUBLIC SCHOOL Disruptive behavior in schools has been a source of concern for school systems for several years. Indeed, the single most common request for assistance from teachers is related to behavior and classroom management. Classrooms with frequent disruptive behaviors have less academic engaged time, and the students in disruptive classrooms tend to have lower grades and do poorer on standardized tests. Furthermore, attempts to control disruptive behaviors cost considerable teacher time at the expense of academic instruction. School discipline issues such as disruptive behavior and violence also have an increased effect on teacher stress and burnout (Smith Smith, 2006). There is a significant body of research attesting to the fact that classroom organization and behavior management competencies significantly influence the persistence of new teachers in their teaching careers (Ingersoll Smith, 2003). New teachers typically express concerns about effective means to handle disruptive behavior (Browers Tomic, 2000). Teachers who have significant problems with behavior management and classroom discipline often report high levels of stress and symptoms of burnout and are frequently ineffective (Berliner, 1986; Browers Tomic, 2000; Espin Yell, 1994). It declared, Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude...shall exist within the United States or any place subject to their jurisdiction. (Primary Documents). Officially, this amendment outlawed the practice of slavery, there was, however, an exception. That exception was the use of involuntary servitude, or slavery, as a form of punishment. More than four million African Americans walked free in 1865, this had a rather negative impact on the Southern economy. And so came the Convict lease system. Many white Southerners saw this system as a solution to their economic hardships; nonetheless, it was often seen as being worse than slavery. In addition to the convict lease system was the practice of Sharecropping and Peonage. These forms of subjugation brought even greater distress to the newly freed African Americans. Despite the ratifying of the Thirteenth Amendment the abhorrent treatment of this newly freed race did not change significantly thanks to programs like the Convict Lease system, Peonage, and Sharecropping. Conspiracies often target the powerful from the position of the powerless, reaching to explain what otherwise is unexplainable, or unsatisfactory when explained. These are an important aspect of democratic society, even if some speculations can reach into the extremes of absurdity. Often, these conspiracy theories express discontent with government powers. The rise in conspiracy theories against the government, stemming from events such as the Kennedy assassination, led to a decrease in trust in federal intentions (Issitt and Newton). Within the division of private law firms, there are two other subdivisions: larger private law firms and smaller private law firms. Paralegals in larger private law firms typically have better benefits and are paid more. They also usually specialize in one area of law, and there is a likely a career ladder in that firm. In the LTM all individuals have unknown liability with both an environmental and genetic component, presentation is sporadic, limited to those that meet the threshold. Figure 3 Figure 3 LTM is parameterized solely on the total variance the genetic architecture is accountable for making it a good model to hypothesise upon as it requires no explicit assumptions for; allele number, frequency and effect size. LTM supports the current range of exchangeable genetic models that have varying hypothesis but limited statistical differentiation (Wray N. R., 2010). Reduced fecundity in patients decreases genetic variance whilst de novo mutations exert the opposite force, neither of which can be captured ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Venice Economy Benefits To benefit my business and also yours, it would be in everyone s best interest to visit one of the five major city states to better the wealth of both of us as merchants so that you can trade more and so that I have more to trade with, and specifically of what. Venice is a city with no roads. The houses are built along the canals. • 25. The Architecture in Melbourne The architecture in Melbourne is characterised by a substantial juxtaposition of old and new architecture. Where there are old architectural buildings that are an icon of Melbourne, there are also more recent buildings that have built a reputation of a Melbourne Icon. These more recent icons are known as The Melbourne Museum and Federation Square. Both the Melbourne Museum and Federation Square started off as a competition for architects to design the new building, whoever came up with the best concept/design would be the designer of the building or space. The Melbourne Museum competition was announced in 1994 where it was also opened for architects to design. The same chance for architects was given to design a new civic square , known as Federation Square we see today. The Victorian Government held this competition in 1996 and was announced to be an international competition. With the Centenary of Federation celebrations coming up in 2001, the main idea of the design was to generate a cultural space in the Melbourne CBD. The designs and the final plans for the Melbourne Museum were presented in May 1995, where Denton Corker Marshall (DCM) Architects won the competition. Lab Architects, which was based in London at that time, was to partner up with Bates Smart to design this new cultural space, where Bates Smart was considered to be one of the most prominent architecture firms in Melbourne. • 29. Japanese Literature Throughout History And History In Japanese literature throughout history, there tends to be an idea of nature that is not nature as it really is, but is a projection of the subjective self. This is portrayed through the concept of Mappō. Mappō in Japanese Buddhism, is the age of the degeneration of the Buddha s law, when only the teachings remained, the practices were no longer pursued, and enlightenment was a mere word. This is a concept that has substance, especially when combined with mujō, the idea of impermanence. Mujō became an idea because Buddha taught that because all things within our lives and our world are constantly changing, it s important to remember that nothing is permanent. Kamo no Chōmei s writing presents a variety of elements related to Mappō, which, through the concept of mujō, shows the impermanence of nature as well as humanity fading into the vastness of nothingness. Through the traditions of simplicity, isolation, and religion, specifically Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra, Hōjōki shows this disastrous fleeting through a calm, poetic, narrative voice. This paper will argue that themes of nature are connected to the idea of the subjective self, through impermanence, and studies how Chōmei s worldview affects his perspective on nature and the natural world. Immediately, Kamo introduces Hōjōki with a smooth, pessimistic, poetic tone, describing the impermanence of foam floating in a river pool. This gives the reader an abrupt sense of sadness which is further produced through a direct ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During her reign, Elizabeth was imprisoned, threatened by conspiracy, dealt with impending warfare, and had to answer to the question of marriage so she and her country would survive. She had endured so much and brought so much culture during her reign that it s not surprising that her long reign is called the Elizabethan Era, or the Golden Age of England. This gave Catholic countries, such as France and Spain, another reason to attack England and also brought on threats to the Queen, along with assassinations and attempts to overthrow her so that her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots, could be queen. As many Catholics tried to take the throne away from Elizabeth I, she decided to imprison Mary, Queen of Scots for twenty years before beheading her. Since Elizabeth I was excommunicated, she was forced to impose harsher laws on Catholics and helped Protestants in Spanish Holland rebel. This made the Spanish Armada attempt to invade England in 1588, but the English navy was able to defeat them. Many say that weather conditions had to do with the victory, along with the fact that Sir Francis Drake was a sea dog that was in the English navy at the time. Elizabeth I would also use her single status to deal with these attacks and to get out of major warfare with Spain or France. She would often threaten to marry foes of other s and she would court many men, including Eric XIV of Sweden, Archduke Charles of Austria, Henry, Duke of Anjou, and Francis, Duke of Anjou and Alençon. What we truly see outside of the natural cognitive process is based on our own experiences with other individuals. Our familiarity with situations as well as general perceptions of people can determine how we view one another. In this day and age popular culture has undoubtedly affected our natural view of the individual. When thinking about large groups of people, we categorize them by societal preconceived notions. The African appears free and independent, but he is a heathen. He looks abroad upon nature, but knows little, or nothing, of nature s God. The kidnappers very often seize the children while they are at play, when their parents are absent, carry them to the boats in the rivers, and then to the slave ships that are at anchor, or lying to, not a great way off. They then take them over the seas to South America, to the West Indies, and even to the United States, never, never to return to their native land as freemen. There they sell them as slaves, and there they have to work, and suffer, and weep. O, how my heart bleeds for them. While time sharing has been around for quite a while; the sharing economy goes beyond time sharing houses for vacations. Some have begun to share their vehicles and even starting friendly taxi type companies that offer cheaper rides than the tradition taxi companies. Many have embraced the sharing economy as it is found to be a great value to the consumer. However, companies are seeing it as a serious threat to their business. The debate goes back and forth as to whether the importance of consumer value is in fact causing the replacement of traditional business. The biggest concern is that the sharing economy will thrive and traditional businesses will continue to suffer the loss of customers unless they lower prices and get more competitive. However, for some businesses sticking it out and being more competitive could potentially lead to more financial loss than merely closing up shop. • 38. A Certain Lady Poem Analysis The poem A Certain Lady is consisted of twelve stanzas with two lines in each stanza. Parker uses an iambic pentameter in this poem. I think that she uses this type of structure to create a rhythmic feel. Parker wants this rhythmic feel to display how the speaker was talking to her husband. The iambic pentameter is not relevant in lines twelve and twenty four. These two lines do not follow the iambic pentameter due to the speaker thinking that her husband will never know how she feels or what she is doing. This poem consists of an end rhyme and has a rhyme scheme of ABAB. An example of a rhyme that is used in the poem is in line one, which ends in head and line three which ends in red . In the poem, you do not obtain a sense of who the speaker is until well into the poem. By just reading the title I thought that the speaker of the poem would have been a guy talking about a certain lady in his life that he is in love with. I soon developed a sense of who the real speaker was in line three, in which is stated and paint my mouth for you a fragrant red . After I read that line, I soon started to see images of a woman with red lipstick. In my mind, I started to think that the speaker of this story seems to be a woman in her 20 s or 30 s and she seems to be talking to her husband. By reading the entire poem and the imagery that Parker uses, I had determined that the woman was talking about infidelity. This poem consists of imagery to make the reader create pictures in their mind about what is going on. An example of imagery that Parker uses is in line two which states eager lips and in line six which says raptured eyes are used to describe the speaker s husband and how he was glad to be talking about his infidelity with her. Parker is painting a scene in which the woman is trying to seduce her husband, however, he does not care about her; he cares more about the other women he has been with. The details Parker uses portrays the speaker in my mind to be quiet a person and not saying anything to her husband though he is hurting her, which is why I do not like the husband because he does not see what is right in front of him. Readers can infer that the woman is not happy as soon as she states and all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
