Research Paper On Maasai Culture
Settled in Kenya and Tanzania, the Maasai enjoy a simple life with an abundance of culture. With
roots in pastoralism, the Maasai live an intriguing life with traditions unlike any in the world.
Language, marriage, societal statuses, the economy, religion, and health are fundamental in
appreciating all that the Maasai have to offer. The warriors of the savannas red clothing signify power,
and with that comes a powerful amount of knowledge that is still being learned. Like any other
culture, the way of communication plays a pivotal role in the daily lives of the Maasai people. Maa
people, including the Maasai, Sumburu and Camus, share a common language known as Maa (Maa

The world is changing, and with that, the Maasai must change. The governments of Kenya and
Tanzania do not support the Maasai lifestyle and have come close to causing the traditions to
completely dwindle away. The Maasai used to have free reign in their area of the East Africa, but land
allocation has interfered with this freedom ( Maasai ). There is still so much that can be learned from
the Maasai, and as we continue to study their culture, we can begin to truly understand the warriors of

The Death Penalty Essay
As of January 1, 2010, 3,261 people live on death row ( Death ). Fewer than 3,261 people live in my
small town of Belle Plaine, so to me this number is outrageous. Inmates that wait on the death penalty
jail create a problem for everyone in the country. If we would put these inmates through the death
penalty quickly, we could take the problem away from the country. Why do we keep murderers and
criminals on death row around? People argue the controversial topic of the death penalty very
thoroughly, and address all sides. On one side people argue that we would save money and the death
penalty sets an example for other criminals, while on the opposition people argue that life without
parole is cheaper, capital punishment is morally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The money spent on prisoners each year adds up, and with the economy being at a low these last few
years, why would we want the government to have to pay that kind of money for these criminals?
Along with the costs of prison, the cost of court for the government is added in on top for each inmate
s court case. Some people think that just because the government is going to court that they do not
have to pay any money, which in fact a false statement. For a life without parole case, it will cost the
government $1.2 to $3.6 million dollars more than a death penalty court case (Sharp). Court costs are
so much because life without parole cases can be lengthy and last for years. People who like the
thought of life without parole would rather see criminals put in jail for life instead of killed. Also,
people argue that the death penalty is more expensive because of the court cost which is in fact not
true. As I have shown, the life without parole cases cost millions more than a death penalty case.
When addressing the death penalty, the morality of the death penalty is a big part of the argument. I
agree that killing a person is wrong and should not be done, but is that not why the death row inmates
are on death row? The people who do not want the death penalty say that killing a person is morally
wrong. Their argument is very understandable; likewise I argue that death row inmates made the
choice for themselves. The majority of death row inmates went out and

Access Control Lists
Introduction
This report will look at various access control methods used by Operating Systems (OS) to control
user access to files on a computer and what they can do once they have gained access. In this first
section I will look at methods such as Access Control Lists(ACL s), Capabilities and Encrypting file
systems(EFS) and which Operating Systems use these as well as the advantages and disadvantages
they have over each other. The second part of my report will focus on one OS and explain in detail the
methods it uses to control file access and how it works.

Unlike UNIX ACL s, the order that entities are listed in the DACL for Windows is important, if a
group is denied access to an object, however one individual belonging to that group is allowed access,
then it is important to list the individual as being allowed access on the DACL before listing the group
to be denied. If it is done the opposite way around, then when the system checks the DACL it will
straight away deny the whole group, including the user that is allowed, similarly it would be possible,
if a group was allowed access but one individual was denied, to accidentally allow the individual to
gain access. Because of this flaw, DACL s must be carefully thought out when the administrator is
configuring it (Microsoft: 2008). Access Control Lists have the advantage that they work well with
commonly used systems, such as windows where there may be a number of users where access needs
to be regulated, they do however have a downside, if somebody is able to gain access to the
administrative part of the system they have full permissions, another flaw is that if the administrator
fails to grant permissions correctly they could leave the whole system open to everybody, or block out
all the users. With both UNIX and Windows, when ACL s are applied to something such a directory,
the permissions only applies for what is within a directory. If a file is moved to a new directory it will
adopt the new permissions, subdirectories

Macbeth Mac Findlaech, was born in 1005. He was the son Findlaech Mac Ruaridh, and his mother

leaders had to be convinced that Macbeth is worthy of being the High King of Scotland. From 1040 to
1045, were the most peaceful years of his ruling. In 1045, the peaceful streak was stopped by a
domestic upheaval. For five years Crinan was bighting at Macbeth s heels, then finally he raised a
southern clans of Atholl against Macbeth. The Atholl troops met Macbeth s troops fifteen miles north

Farquhar s An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge had a much unanticipated conclusion, in my opinion. In fact,
after finishing it, I had to revisit everything I thought I knew about what was going on in the story. For
one, I had originally thought that the story was pretty basic plot a tale of a southern well to do planter
s escape from a dreadful fate, which was death by hanging. However the case, it turned out that what I
thought was happening in the story never actually happened. Peyton Farquhar s completely intricate
and valiant escape, which included untying his bonds, evading bullets, swimming to freedom, and
hiking back to the safety of his own home, never occurred. When the military sent him off the bridge
to hang, the rope never broke. Instead the noose held fast, and Farquhar died right there no escape, no
valor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Farquhar got out of actually fighting in the civil war, because of his social ranking and his wealth. His
embarrassment for doing so along with his insubstantial perception of reality is what tricked him into
running straight into enemy territory, which met him with a terrible fate. After going back and reading
through the story again, I noticed several clues Bierce peppered throughout the great escape to
foreshadow Farquhar s death. For example, Bierce kept mentioning how Farquhar was feeling pain in
his neck and how his mind was getting more and more lost, saying that he had fallen asleep while
walking. Another abnormality I noticed was how the soldiers kept firing shots at Farquhar while he
was escaping, and they never managed to actually shoot him. The shots fired from the weapons are
actually ceremonial after death, and they were fired after Farquhar was

The Theme Of Faith In Mania Salinger s The Storyteller
The Storyteller has four parallel stories. Sage is a brilliant baker who works at night, living a limited
lonely life in a small town. She keeps a scar on her face hidden, is involved in a hopeless romantic
affair, and is drawn to Josef, a beloved neighbourhood old timer who frequently visits the bakery.
Minka grows up in Lodz and is forced into the ghetto with her family. Eventually she is sent on a
transport to Auschwitz and we closely follow the impossible hardships she endures and ultimately
survives. Franz and Reiner are two German brothers different as can be; one a serious sensitive
student, the other a fighter; both end up in the SS. Meanwhile we read Minka s fiction, chapters of a
dark Gothic romance about a baker s daughter and two demon brothers who terrorize a village. Minka
s biography is compiled from multiple survivors, including various threads from Mania Salinger s own
memoir, Looking Back. Picoult says Mania reminds her of her own grandma. Salinger was eager to

position to follow God spiritually and not just religiously. The question is reiterated when Sage tells
that her mother would ask her to find good in every person, religion has nothing to do with it. It is also
showcased when Ania actually gives shelter to the upior Alek. When the world saw him only as an
animal who killed thirteen people, they ignored the fact that he killed only those who had committed
enough sins to be punished. The next question that arises is that of time, it is beautifully experimented

the story of Ania. They all are intrinsically knit and yet retain their individuality. The behaviour of the
characters in the three stories, categorically define the times they try to

Human Behaviour In Macbeth
Shakespeare has written many plays that are still popular in the English language and literature.
Macbeth is one of Shakespeare greatest tragedies, a drama of crime and punishment. The play depicts
strong human behaviour. In this essay, I will discuss who had the greatest impact on King Duncan
death.
Macbeth was thought to be written for the sole purpose of entraining the King of England, during
Shakespearean time. As James I King of England was fascinated by witchcraft and the belief of black
magic was popular during that era.
Initially, Shakespeare creates a ghastly atmosphere by introducing the three witches. The three witches
are characters answering to the fates of the mythology. They are first introduced by the famous quote
fair is foul, and foul is fair , this enigmatic line contains an oxymoron .As this paradox explains the
discrepancy between appearance and reality. It also, signifies that there is no significance between
good or bad as their roles can be reversed. This is one of the crucial structural components in the
writing of this play and it s clear that Shakespeare wants us to see this. ... Show more content on

The reason is the prophecies don t claim that Macbeth should kill King Duncan; however Lady
Macbeth does the opposite and instructs Macbeth to kill his cousin. Although, the three witches in the
play, sow the seeds of the brutal events that have occurred for example, when Macbeth seeks out to
the witches, when he committed himself to his course of evil, they try solicit him. Even though, they
prophesised these brutal killing, they also give him advice when they tell him to be bold and secure ;
straight after this advice, Macbeth is free to act on his own initiative and the first thing he does after
the meeting is slaughter the Macduff family. However, no matter how great the witches influence was,
Macbeth seems to be

Where the Homeless Live in Canada
While a vacant residence or commercial building may not be the best conditions for the average
person to live in, it has become the norm for individuals that may prefer to live homeless and not
follow the traditional lifestyle that is expected in society. The subculture groups known as squatters
have taken a criminal offense of trespassing and have established a way of living that allows a
homeless individual the rights to a residence without going through the process of legally purchasing a
home. The question lies, why have these homeless individuals chosen to take residency in a
nonconformist ways, how do they live in such penurious ways and is there method to their madness?
Historically, squatters were recognized in Australia where they lived on a large area of Crown land in
order to graze livestock. While originally they had no permissible right to the land, they gained its
custom by inheriting the land by being the first Europeans in the area and not leaving the property.
The idea of squatting in vacant residential and commercial buildings became popular all over the
world for all ages, genders and races that a squatting community had been developed.
The squatting community has tips and tricks that are known and passed on through word of mouth or
by professional housing advocates. An online video found on squattheplanet.com provided helpful
information on the how to be an effective squatter. Safety is the priority of a prospective squatter, and

The Employment Status Of Workers Essay
INTRODUCTION
It is certainly true that the current law defining the employment status of workers is uncertain, as it is
wholly inflexible to deal effectively with cases of non standard forms of employment, atypical
workers, for example: agency workers, part time workers, fixed term workers, as required workers and
homeworkers. Thus, reform is necessary to redress the concerns of lack of legal certainty in relation to
this area of the law.
This essay will argue that the concept of worker defined under section 230 of the Employment Rights
Act ( ERA ) 1996 is board; however, due to the undefined scope of section 230(3) of ERA 1996,
employment tribunals and the courts have adapted a rigid approach in their interpretation; that there is
a high degree of legal uncertainty as established in this area of law; that the law does not adequately
deal with non standard forms of workers ; present proposals for reform by the UK Parliament on the
interpretation and application of law at common; and finally provide a conclusion for the arguments
put forth.
THE CURRENT STATE OF THE LAW Firstly, employment tribunals and the courts have interpreted
the concept of workers too narrowly, by limiting the common law interpretation of workers under
section 230(3) of the ERA 1996 and rights conferred on workers. Under section 230(3) ERA 1996,
worker is defined as an individual who has entered into work: under a contract of employment, or any
other contract express or implied... to do

Why Hockey Is The Greatest Sport Of Hockey
Waking up at the crack of dawn half asleep, struggling as a little kid carrying this enormous bag that is
twice your weight, and walking into a freezing cold rink makes you think why do this. All hockey
players have asked themselves this but growing up in a rink is a choice that no one regrets. You learn
from a very young age that hockey is the greatest sport on the earth. Nothing can compare to the
sacrifice, toughness, hard work, teamwork, physical, and brotherhood that hockey requires and
creates. Hockey is tough therefore making it one of the hardest games ever to exist. Unlike football,
basketball, and baseball, it is played on a giant slippery, and bitterly cold surface. Hockey combines
the bone crushing hits that football players throw, the unique and exceptional footwork that basketball
players have and the hand eye coordination that baseball players have. To reiterate, this is all
happening on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At all times a team needs to be working together as a unit. If a team does not work together they will
fail. For instance, a team must break out the puck from their defensive zone. No one person can do
this on their own. This is different from any other sports like baseball which is more judged on each
effort of an individual. Thus makes hockey an exceptional game that generates an unbreakable bond
between teammates. Hockey players are brothers off the ice. Hockey creates a silent bond of respect
for each other. For an example, hockey has the World Cup. An event where the world s professional
hockey players come together and compete with their home nation. During this event, rivals meaning
players that play against each other, are then put as teammates. They might hate each other when they
are on different teams but once brought together, by this silent bond that no other sport creates, they
are willing to sacrifice everything for each

The United States Essay
1. The Commonwealth They Served
The weather was seasonally cold in Pennsylvania s Capitol late in 1914. On Sunday morning,
December 27, the temperature was 1 degree Fahrenheit. This reading was the lowest ever registered in
the last month of the year during the almost three decade history of the Harrisburg weather station.
Nevertheless, the cold did not dim the spirit of the holiday season as the Harrisburg Evening Telegraph
newspaper cheerfully proclaimed, Perfect Christmas Makes City Happy.
During that week, Governor John K. Tener, in the last month of his term, released a legislatively
mandated report that made history. The Report of the Economy and Efficiency Commission, for one
of the very few times in Pennsylvania s Chronicle, provided the public with a roster of all 5,152 state
employees. The release of this document was a key milestone in the Commonwealth s early 20th
century effort to improve its personnel management practices.
By listing names, this document provides an opportunity to recognize the often unheralded
contributions of selected state employees assigned to organizations under the general supervision of
the Governor. The register also affords an invaluable chance to appreciate how the offices, bureaus,
and divisions make Pennsylvania work. Researching their efforts brought to light a collective
commitment to assist the public. This attribute is a common virtue among Pennsylvania state
employees, both past and present. It is the one thing

Compare And Contrast Marshall And Ebeye
In 1944, the Marshall Islands were taken by the U.S from Japan, where they built a missile base in
Kwajalein. Marshallese were known as the masters of the pacific because of the navigations they
created and their nutrition which consisted of vitamins and minerals that they grew; breadfruit, taro,
fish, minerals, and bananas. On March 1st, 1954 the biggest bomb exploded, having the Marshallese
to think the powder was from heaven so they began to rub it on their skins, leading to severe burns.
After the U.S Marshall s treated the Marshallese they decided room was needed to do studies on their
island, so they made them relocate. Kwajalein became an American middle class neighborhood while
Ebeye developed to poverty. This relocation affected their health and made them urbanized. Ebeye

Texas s New Gun Control Policy
As of the beginning of this year 2016, Texas has now been an open carry state. Open carry simply
means that every single 21 year old or older gets to purchase a gun if they choose to do so and wear it
out on the streets. Texas had been going back and forth on whether or not to allow this to pass and in
the end it did. Many Texans had mixed emotions about the open carry system and did not approve of it
due to situation that might have occurred in their lives or others that hit them hard, and/or because of
the sense of fear that guns just can have on a person. Texas citizens are usually portrayed as
cowboys/girls, and westerners that live eat breathe all things country, and gun loving machines. In
some cases that may be true but not all Texans are, for example the Valley. There are many views and
opinions as to how others feel about Texas new gun control policy and they vary from great things that
this new policy can contribute to this state, compared to negative aspects that it can lead up to. In my
opinion there is nothing wrong with Texas now allowing the open carry system in this state. Yes, it
might be frightening at first but to me there is nothing wrong with letting people carry guns. It is
simply giving them their rights as a citizen of the United States of America.
Many Black and Latin voters in the state of Texas absolutely do not support any such idea of the
campus carry. This has been said due to a most recent poll that was taken by the Urban Policy

Chinese Education
Chinese Education
The Education system in China although different than America s has many good qualities. The view
of Education in China has changed dramatically over the last forty years; it has gone from there being
no real system to one that is held up to be one of the best in the world. In this paper I will go through
the history of Chinese education and show how much it truly has changed. I will also look at how it is
now and what China can expect for its future. In 1949 The People s Republic of China was formed by
the Communist party. This happened after much struggle between the communists and the nationalists.
The leader of the communist party and the new People s Republic was Mao Zedong. When the

The Chinese educational system is the biggest educational system in the world. There are 330,000,000
students in China! This is greater than the entire population of the United States of America! The
education system goes through grades pre kindergarten (before age 6) to post graduate (2 3 years for
Masters; 2 3 years for Doctorates). The Chinese educational system is not a balanced educational
system. While there are some schools in the cities that can match some of our western countries in
terms of resourcing the vast majority of schools are in the countryside. The Chinese educational
system is a highly competitive educational system. Because of the huge population waiting to be
educated, and the limited space in colleges and universities, entrance to higher educational institutions
must be very competitive. The Chinese educational system is a centralised educational system. The
legislation of education rests not locally or provincially but centrally, with the Ministry.
One of the reasons that the education system has continued to grow and change is because of the help
from foreign countries. The reason for this aid is because the different countries have seen and heard
about the state of education in China. It is because they value education at such a high standard that
they are offering their help. Education is the way to the future. The people who are educated are going

Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations
Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the
design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These
interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the
initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and
fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors
for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that
connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus
to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance
and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1.
Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by
the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with
the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been
made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of
achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in
devices employing this

Argumentative Essay On Child Forced Marriage
Every two minutes a child is married. Approximately 15 million girls are married before they reach
the age of 18. Child marriage is often the end product of a girl s education, economic prospects,
constrained social engagement and increased health risks including physical, emotional and sexual
violence. The subjugation of women and girls takes many forms. One of the most common,
unquestioned, and lasting is the practice of child forced marriage. The practice of Child forced
marriage, is the control of women and girls lives by families and communities, particularly the control
of their sexual and reproductive lives.
Poverty has long been established as the reason for Child forced marriage. But if poverty is to blame,
why are boys not marrying as early as girls? Why are girls the victims of child marriage and
exploitation?
The social and cultural construction of womanhood and the emphasis on female subservience to male
dominance determines if, when and who girls marry, as well as the conditions of marital life for these
unwilling girls and women: including health dangers linked with early pregnancy, lower educational
accomplishments for girls who marry earlier, a higher occurrence of spousal violence, and an
amplified probability of poverty.
Decisions about reproduction are the most important and lie changing an individual can make, and

issues with the Shishak of Egypt. Abijam and Asa of Judah have been depicted as father and son and
also brother by interpretations found in 1 Kings 15. 2 Chronicles clears some confusion by altering
Abijam s name to Abijah, and Abijah is known for military skill and capturing Bethel, Jeshanah, and
Ephron. Asa is known for religious reform and military successes such as capturing the cities of Dan
and Hazor. Jehoshaphat s reign is considered positive and peaceful due to the alliance formed between
Jehoshaphat and Ahab. This alliance was confirmed when Jehoshaphat s son Jehoram and ... Show

Jehoram is known for not dealing with the Jehu uprising because of his death, but his son Ahaziah
dealt with the uprising. Ahaziah s son Joram were victims of the Jehu uprising. Athaliah was the only
woman to rule Judah and Israel. Known for killing others, she was unable to kill her future
predecessor Joash who hid in the Temple for six years by his Aunt. Joash s reign was long and
peaceful besides the attacks by Hazael. Amaziah, the son of Joash, encountered warfare between Israel
and Judah. Amaziah was captured by Jehoash s army. Uzziah brought prosperity to Judah by
conquering the Philistine, pushing back the Ammonites, fortified Jerusalem, promoted agriculture, and
modernized the army. The remaining sections of chapter eight discuss Judah after the destruction of
Israel. Tullock begins by mentioning Hezekiah and stories between Isaiah and the kings of Judah.
Hezekiah is considered to be a blessing for Judah because Hezekiah was active in religious reform in
Judah. Isaiah is mentioned in Hezekiah s story in 1 Kings 18 20. Isaiah was

The Effects Of Carbon Dioxide On Our Oceans
Our oceans absorb almost twenty five percent, each year, of all the carbon dioxide that human activity
emits into the air. Scientists originally believed that the idea of our oceans absorbing extra carbon
dioxide that is in the air was a positive idea, because it would deter global warming. But, they soon
came to the realization that this absorption process was having similarly disastrous effects, as global
warming does, and it what happening to our oceans. This phenomenon, of our oceans taking in the
excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, leads to ocean acidification; a term used to describe how
our oceans are becoming increasingly more acidic over time. However, just in the past 200 years,
ocean acidification has increased by thirty percent, and this number will only continue to increase due
to our current rate of industrialization.
Carbon dioxide is one of the major greenhouse gases, and is one of the most common gases found in
the earth s atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere in mass amounts by human
activities and then absorbed by our oceans. The main way that carbon dioxide is added to the
atmosphere is by the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. Increased energy composition and with
the industrialization age, beginning in the 18th century, has led to a drastic spike in the burning of
fossil fuels and therefore the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The main emitters of
carbon dioxide are cars, airplanes, and factories

Characteristics Of The High Renaissance
This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this
period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These
three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses
about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on
Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was
prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many
famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous
for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of
the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High
Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the
Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is
because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached
their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th
century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These
individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo
Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the
time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he was
great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous
Renaissance art masterpieces.
Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from Florence.
Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary Florence, Ser Piero Da
Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an apprentice of Andrea del
Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017). Later on Leonardo

The Importance Of Human Ecology
Human ecology is an interdisciplinary field, and it includes the interactions among humans and their
natural, social, and built environments. In order to understand fields such as sociology, anthropology,
psychology, home economics, etc., one must understand the different facets of human ecology. Eco
psychiatry, for example, attempts to integrate ecology and psychiatry and explores the effects of one s
environment on mental health. The environment can be biological, social, or cultural in nature. Several
facets of human ecology can be linked to mental health including microbial, social, and urban ecology.
The diversity of microbiota is important for mental well being in that microbes directly influence
aspects of mental health such as anxiety and stress, and the social environment is important in that
adequate and quality resources are necessary for the physical and mental health of an individual.
Research has shown that microbial ecology has a direct influence on the mental health of individuals.
Macro biodiversity in the external environment has been shown to influence mental well being, and
microbial diversity as a byproduct of this external biodiversity can have effects on immune function
and mood. Microbes have made many genetic contributions to the human body including but not
limited to protection against pathogens, nutrient absorption, and manufacture of chemicals necessary
for survival. Lack of microbial diversity and dysbiosis, or microbial imbalance, due to

Advantages Of Remote Corrosion Monitoring
Advantages of remote corrosion monitoring There are a variety of remote corrosion monitoring
systems that enable maintenance personel and plant operators to get accurate measurements of
corrosion activity wirelessly hence delivering significant cost benefits. The remote solutions collect
and transmit the data from remote as well as hazardous locations and does not require running wires
between the control room and the location. Amongs the benefits of remote corrosion are Almost all
types of corrosion can be monitored Saving on time and costs, the remote corrosion monitoring leads
to more productivity, reliability and profitability. Enables the company to obtain and utilize corroion
data from hazadous location, remote locations or other inaccessible areas due to high cost of wiring.
Majority of the systems and transmitters are easy to install and takes only a few minutes, making it
possible to get the information back to the control systems, quickly. The remote moniroting systems
provides a flexible means to monitor corrosion in applications;  Where it is difficult to reach some of
the parts or areas  Remote locations  There is no access to power  Require frequent reconfiguring
 Locations where corrosion monitoring has been previously performed manually Monitor the
effectiveness of the corrosion protection method such as the CP any time, from anywhere and using

Analysis Of Ryan s The Flies
Similar to a circle, Ryan s face is rounded just enough for his Aunt to love it. Despite a chubby face
and fingers, his body is small. Fragile. In the six years of his life he has come to enjoy learning new
concepts. He understands that to draw a house he must start with a square base. A roof is nothing more
than a triangle on top. Add two squares for Windows and a rectangle for a door and Ryan has drawn a
squiggly lined house. Red. Yellow. Green. One plus two equals three. Ryan understands these
concepts, because they re easy to control. Understanding becomes hard when the shapes are replaced
by feelings, and the colors and numbers are replaced by people. Why is it hard to be understanding
towards one another? How come it is difficult to put myself into someone else s shoes and say they
had every right to mock me. Could it be because I am too simpleminded to understand? Or, is it
because I am too unwilling to let myself be carried away by someone else s life. If they refuse to
accept my world, then why should I try to understand theirs? It s that kind of thinking that keeps me
from truly enjoying life. When I fail to see the rough aspects in others lives, it not only makes them,
but also me, feel frustrated as well. I know how it feels to be unheard. I know how it feels to have
someone watch me talk, but ignore my words; like I wasn t there to begin with. Who am I if my peers
are willing to treat my voice as if it was nothing more than a gust of air? I crash

The Republican Party Platform Of 1860
As the Republican Party Platform of 1860 came into existence, there were
situations that occurred in the United States that were inevitable. The civil war was
inevitable, just as the many other occurrences that happened and were yet to happen.
Without the Republicans arising in that time and creating a platform to abide by, life in
the United States would have erupted. The platform was created to secure the union and
to stop succession by the south and to abolish slavery. Another issue the Republicans
brought forward to society to view was that majority of what the Constitution stated, was
being neglected or against in the times before 1860. They further developed a principle
that will forever, permanently, cease into existence, which will demand its peace and
achievement in the United States.
The act of disunion predominantly went unnoticed to the Republican Party. By
the act of sectional divisions in the Constitutional Union Party, it presented in
significance of denying a free government. Amongst the other parties, Democratic
members advocated threats of disunion. However, the Republicans did not evidently join
in these threats of disunion and feel that they should be applauded for this because the
threats were vital to the central government that was yet to exist. Through this
occurrence, the Republicans did not want to separate because they believed that the
denial of a free government was a part of treason. They wanted the United

The Zodiac Signs Of Dike
The Zodiac signs are identified by 12 constellations. Each one is associated with one of the four
natural elements. The word Zodiac means circle of animals. They helped explain a person s
personalities. Each one explains how each group of stars found its way into the heavens.
Libra represents the golden scales of Dike, which is a symbol of balance and equity. The scales are
used for the weighing of souls in order to go to the Greek versions of Heaven and Hell. It did this by
determining the good and evil deeds from one s own life.
The golden scales were left behind by Dike when she saw how horrid and evil the civilization had
become. When the Romans found the scales, they place the constellation in the sky for fear of her
judgement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The constellation was placed in the sky because the Romans feared her judgement, although she left
the scales behind because of the horrific nature that the world had become. When the Romans did this,
I believe they did it to help please her in the sense that they honored her and wished for her not to
return. The Romans weren t as serious as the Greeks when it came to religion, so it somewhat
confused me as to why they would do this, but some may have possibly been more believing than
others.
According to the Zodiac parts of the solar system affect the personalities of the signs of the Zodiac.
These elements are the sun, the moon, the planets, and the stars. A Libra s character is determined by
the planet Saturn. Saturn is the planet of law and order, which makes a Libra have that trait.
A Libra is strong when it comes to being cooperative, diplomatic, gracious, fair minded, and social.
On the other hand, they are very indecisive, will carry a grudge, avoid confrontations, and have self
pity. Libras like things that are peaceful and easygoing, and they dislike violent and loud things. A

Impact of the Recession on Construction Contractors
THE IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS ON THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
JANUARY 2009
INTRODUCTION
The current crisis in the world s financial system has left the construction industry facing its toughest
challenges for a generation. Salaries are falling; job cuts are predicted to reach 400,000 in England
alone; and the impacts look set to get much worse before they get better.
No country is immune from the impact of this and the UK, and much of the rest of the world, is
already in, or about to enter a recession. Even buoyant construction markets such as the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) are starting to feel the effect, with construction growth rate expected to slow from
20% to 15% in 2009 (Al Mal Capital). The United Nations (UN) ... Show more content on

The fiscal mitigation measures that were recently announced by the Chancellor (Pre budget statement,
November 2008) were not sufficient to address the underlying loss of confidence facing all UK
businesses (and people).
More innovative ways could be investigated by Government to help the industry survive, such as
providing credit insurance; relaxing bonding requirements on public projects; setting up project bank
accounts; and providing tax breaks/concessions for sustainable construction R D. At present, the latter
has effectively ground to a halt largely as a result of the deeply entrenched uncertainty that abound.
Jobs Loss of Skills
Almost 400,000 jobs in the construction sector in England could be lost over the next two years
(assuming GDP shrinks by 2.2% in 2009 and rises by 0.75% in 2010). It is predicted that the worst
affected area will be London, where 23% of workers are expected to be made redundant (Public and
Corporate Economic Consultants for the Local Government Association).
On the other hand, Eastern Europeans are responding to the downturn in the market by returning
home, and this has eased the severity of the job situation in many instances.
Given the forecasts for construction output in 2009, it could be assumed that jobs in the public sector
may offer more security than those in the private sector. This reinforces the need for Government to
establish how an accelerated public spending package will be

Othello: Hero or Stranger
Othello is a hero due to being a hardened and vicious warrior on the battlefield but he is also a tragic

Beauty Is The Quality Of Beauty
What is Beauty? Greek Philosopher, Plato, once said: Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Everyone
has different points of view about what beauty is. Some people may perceive beauty as how someone

me, beauty comes in act of kindness, in nature, and smiling faces. Beauty comes in act of kindness.

the water. I took hours looking at the horizon. As I stayed there look out into the horizon, the sun has

put a box of sandwiches on a table, and started to hand them out. The people were very grateful and

Descriptive Essay On The New York City
I close my eyes and everything seems so calm that it is as if time itself has stopped altogether. A wave
of peacefulness rushes over me. New York City, I still cannot believe it. I begin to hear a soft hum in
my ears that quickly increases in volume. I open my eyes and I am suddenly brought back to reality as
the train rushes by, its horn blowing loud and strong. The train slows to a stop and the doors open. All
at once a massive crowd of people rush off of the subway. Those of us standing on the platform push
through the crowd, praying that our massive group of dancers will all make it onto the train. Due to
the morning rush hour there is not a seat in sight and there is barely any room to stand. As the train
lurches forward we struggle to stay standing. I look out of the window and watch the flashes of graffiti
on the dark walls as we charge forward. The train stops and starts three times. Each station just as
chaotic as the last. We quickly approach our fourth stop, West 4th Street, the nerves begin to kick in.
The train slows to a stop and once again we push through the morning foot traffic. We follow the signs
towards the West 8th Street exit, struggling to stay together. I think to myself, whatever happens, don t
lose sight of the chaperone. As we approach the stairwell the air begins to feel cooler. We reach the top
of the stairs and the entire atmosphere changes. Whereas the people in the subway were frantic and
rude, the people that filled the sidewalks are calm

  • 2. Research Paper On Maasai Culture Settled in Kenya and Tanzania, the Maasai enjoy a simple life with an abundance of culture. With roots in pastoralism, the Maasai live an intriguing life with traditions unlike any in the world. Language, marriage, societal statuses, the economy, religion, and health are fundamental in appreciating all that the Maasai have to offer. The warriors of the savannas red clothing signify power, and with that comes a powerful amount of knowledge that is still being learned. Like any other culture, the way of communication plays a pivotal role in the daily lives of the Maasai people. Maa people, including the Maasai, Sumburu and Camus, share a common language known as Maa (Maa Language). Maa is a Nolotic language and involves very disitinct sounds, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The world is changing, and with that, the Maasai must change. The governments of Kenya and Tanzania do not support the Maasai lifestyle and have come close to causing the traditions to completely dwindle away. The Maasai used to have free reign in their area of the East Africa, but land allocation has interfered with this freedom ( Maasai ). There is still so much that can be learned from the Maasai, and as we continue to study their culture, we can begin to truly understand the warriors of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Death Penalty Essay As of January 1, 2010, 3,261 people live on death row ( Death ). Fewer than 3,261 people live in my small town of Belle Plaine, so to me this number is outrageous. Inmates that wait on the death penalty jail create a problem for everyone in the country. If we would put these inmates through the death penalty quickly, we could take the problem away from the country. Why do we keep murderers and criminals on death row around? People argue the controversial topic of the death penalty very thoroughly, and address all sides. On one side people argue that we would save money and the death penalty sets an example for other criminals, while on the opposition people argue that life without parole is cheaper, capital punishment is morally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The money spent on prisoners each year adds up, and with the economy being at a low these last few years, why would we want the government to have to pay that kind of money for these criminals? Along with the costs of prison, the cost of court for the government is added in on top for each inmate s court case. Some people think that just because the government is going to court that they do not have to pay any money, which in fact a false statement. For a life without parole case, it will cost the government $1.2 to $3.6 million dollars more than a death penalty court case (Sharp). Court costs are so much because life without parole cases can be lengthy and last for years. People who like the thought of life without parole would rather see criminals put in jail for life instead of killed. Also, people argue that the death penalty is more expensive because of the court cost which is in fact not true. As I have shown, the life without parole cases cost millions more than a death penalty case. When addressing the death penalty, the morality of the death penalty is a big part of the argument. I agree that killing a person is wrong and should not be done, but is that not why the death row inmates are on death row? The people who do not want the death penalty say that killing a person is morally wrong. Their argument is very understandable; likewise I argue that death row inmates made the choice for themselves. The majority of death row inmates went out and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Access Control Lists Introduction This report will look at various access control methods used by Operating Systems (OS) to control user access to files on a computer and what they can do once they have gained access. In this first section I will look at methods such as Access Control Lists(ACL s), Capabilities and Encrypting file systems(EFS) and which Operating Systems use these as well as the advantages and disadvantages they have over each other. The second part of my report will focus on one OS and explain in detail the methods it uses to control file access and how it works. Section A Review of File Access Control mechanisms. Access Control Lists Access Control Lists are used by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike UNIX ACL s, the order that entities are listed in the DACL for Windows is important, if a group is denied access to an object, however one individual belonging to that group is allowed access, then it is important to list the individual as being allowed access on the DACL before listing the group to be denied. If it is done the opposite way around, then when the system checks the DACL it will straight away deny the whole group, including the user that is allowed, similarly it would be possible, if a group was allowed access but one individual was denied, to accidentally allow the individual to gain access. Because of this flaw, DACL s must be carefully thought out when the administrator is configuring it (Microsoft: 2008). Access Control Lists have the advantage that they work well with commonly used systems, such as windows where there may be a number of users where access needs to be regulated, they do however have a downside, if somebody is able to gain access to the administrative part of the system they have full permissions, another flaw is that if the administrator fails to grant permissions correctly they could leave the whole system open to everybody, or block out all the users. With both UNIX and Windows, when ACL s are applied to something such a directory, the permissions only applies for what is within a directory. If a file is moved to a new directory it will adopt the new permissions, subdirectories ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Farquhar s An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge had a much unanticipated conclusion, in my opinion. In fact, after finishing it, I had to revisit everything I thought I knew about what was going on in the story. For one, I had originally thought that the story was pretty basic plot a tale of a southern well to do planter s escape from a dreadful fate, which was death by hanging. However the case, it turned out that what I thought was happening in the story never actually happened. Peyton Farquhar s completely intricate and valiant escape, which included untying his bonds, evading bullets, swimming to freedom, and hiking back to the safety of his own home, never occurred. When the military sent him off the bridge to hang, the rope never broke. Instead the noose held fast, and Farquhar died right there no escape, no valor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Farquhar got out of actually fighting in the civil war, because of his social ranking and his wealth. His embarrassment for doing so along with his insubstantial perception of reality is what tricked him into running straight into enemy territory, which met him with a terrible fate. After going back and reading through the story again, I noticed several clues Bierce peppered throughout the great escape to foreshadow Farquhar s death. For example, Bierce kept mentioning how Farquhar was feeling pain in his neck and how his mind was getting more and more lost, saying that he had fallen asleep while walking. Another abnormality I noticed was how the soldiers kept firing shots at Farquhar while he was escaping, and they never managed to actually shoot him. The shots fired from the weapons are actually ceremonial after death, and they were fired after Farquhar was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Theme Of Faith In Mania Salinger s The Storyteller The Storyteller has four parallel stories. Sage is a brilliant baker who works at night, living a limited lonely life in a small town. She keeps a scar on her face hidden, is involved in a hopeless romantic affair, and is drawn to Josef, a beloved neighbourhood old timer who frequently visits the bakery. Minka grows up in Lodz and is forced into the ghetto with her family. Eventually she is sent on a transport to Auschwitz and we closely follow the impossible hardships she endures and ultimately survives. Franz and Reiner are two German brothers different as can be; one a serious sensitive student, the other a fighter; both end up in the SS. Meanwhile we read Minka s fiction, chapters of a dark Gothic romance about a baker s daughter and two demon brothers who terrorize a village. Minka s biography is compiled from multiple survivors, including various threads from Mania Salinger s own memoir, Looking Back. Picoult says Mania reminds her of her own grandma. Salinger was eager to read The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It raises the question of Faith, through the character of Mary, who was a nun before and renounced her position to follow God spiritually and not just religiously. The question is reiterated when Sage tells that her mother would ask her to find good in every person, religion has nothing to do with it. It is also showcased when Ania actually gives shelter to the upior Alek. When the world saw him only as an animal who killed thirteen people, they ignored the fact that he killed only those who had committed enough sins to be punished. The next question that arises is that of time, it is beautifully experimented with as Picoult simultaneously knits three stories together, the story of Minka, the story of Sage and the story of Ania. They all are intrinsically knit and yet retain their individuality. The behaviour of the characters in the three stories, categorically define the times they try to ... • 10. Human Behaviour In Macbeth Shakespeare has written many plays that are still popular in the English language and literature. Macbeth is one of Shakespeare greatest tragedies, a drama of crime and punishment. The play depicts strong human behaviour. In this essay, I will discuss who had the greatest impact on King Duncan death. Macbeth was thought to be written for the sole purpose of entraining the King of England, during Shakespearean time. As James I King of England was fascinated by witchcraft and the belief of black magic was popular during that era. Initially, Shakespeare creates a ghastly atmosphere by introducing the three witches. The three witches are characters answering to the fates of the mythology. They are first introduced by the famous quote fair is foul, and foul is fair , this enigmatic line contains an oxymoron .As this paradox explains the discrepancy between appearance and reality. It also, signifies that there is no significance between good or bad as their roles can be reversed. This is one of the crucial structural components in the writing of this play and it s clear that Shakespeare wants us to see this. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where the Homeless Live in Canada While a vacant residence or commercial building may not be the best conditions for the average person to live in, it has become the norm for individuals that may prefer to live homeless and not follow the traditional lifestyle that is expected in society. The subculture groups known as squatters have taken a criminal offense of trespassing and have established a way of living that allows a homeless individual the rights to a residence without going through the process of legally purchasing a home. • 13. The Employment Status Of Workers Essay INTRODUCTION It is certainly true that the current law defining the employment status of workers is uncertain, as it is wholly inflexible to deal effectively with cases of non standard forms of employment, atypical workers, for example: agency workers, part time workers, fixed term workers, as required workers and homeworkers. Thus, reform is necessary to redress the concerns of lack of legal certainty in relation to this area of the law. This essay will argue that the concept of worker defined under section 230 of the Employment Rights Act ( ERA ) 1996 is board; however, due to the undefined scope of section 230(3) of ERA 1996, employment tribunals and the courts have adapted a rigid approach in their interpretation; that there is a high degree of legal uncertainty as established in this area of law; that the law does not adequately deal with non standard forms of workers ; present proposals for reform by the UK Parliament on the interpretation and application of law at common; and finally provide a conclusion for the arguments put forth. THE CURRENT STATE OF THE LAW Firstly, employment tribunals and the courts have interpreted the concept of workers too narrowly, by limiting the common law interpretation of workers under section 230(3) of the ERA 1996 and rights conferred on workers. Under section 230(3) ERA 1996, worker is defined as an individual who has entered into work: under a contract of employment, or any other contract express or implied... to do ... Why Hockey Is The Greatest Sport Of Hockey Waking up at the crack of dawn half asleep, struggling as a little kid carrying this enormous bag that is twice your weight, and walking into a freezing cold rink makes you think why do this. All hockey players have asked themselves this but growing up in a rink is a choice that no one regrets. You learn from a very young age that hockey is the greatest sport on the earth. Nothing can compare to the sacrifice, toughness, hard work, teamwork, physical, and brotherhood that hockey requires and creates. Hockey is tough therefore making it one of the hardest games ever to exist. Unlike football, basketball, and baseball, it is played on a giant slippery, and bitterly cold surface. Hockey combines the bone crushing hits that football players throw, the unique and exceptional footwork that basketball players have and the hand eye coordination that baseball players have. Hockey players are brothers off the ice. Hockey creates a silent bond of respect for each other. For an example, hockey has the World Cup. An event where the world s professional hockey players come together and compete with their home nation. Open carry simply means that every single 21 year old or older gets to purchase a gun if they choose to do so and wear it out on the streets. Texas had been going back and forth on whether or not to allow this to pass and in the end it did. Many Texans had mixed emotions about the open carry system and did not approve of it due to situation that might have occurred in their lives or others that hit them hard, and/or because of the sense of fear that guns just can have on a person. The Chinese educational system is not a balanced educational system. • 21. Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this ... Child marriage is often the end product of a girl s education, economic prospects, constrained social engagement and increased health risks including physical, emotional and sexual violence. The subjugation of women and girls takes many forms. One of the most common, unquestioned, and lasting is the practice of child forced marriage. The practice of Child forced marriage, is the control of women and girls lives by families and communities, particularly the control of their sexual and reproductive lives. Poverty has long been established as the reason for Child forced marriage. But if poverty is to blame, why are boys not marrying as early as girls? Why are girls the victims of child marriage and exploitation? The social and cultural construction of womanhood and the emphasis on female subservience to male dominance determines if, when and who girls marry, as well as the conditions of marital life for these unwilling girls and women: including health dangers linked with early pregnancy, lower educational accomplishments for girls who marry earlier, a higher occurrence of spousal violence, and an amplified probability of poverty. Scientists originally believed that the idea of our oceans absorbing extra carbon dioxide that is in the air was a positive idea, because it would deter global warming. But, they soon came to the realization that this absorption process was having similarly disastrous effects, as global warming does, and it what happening to our oceans. This phenomenon, of our oceans taking in the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, leads to ocean acidification; a term used to describe how our oceans are becoming increasingly more acidic over time. However, just in the past 200 years, ocean acidification has increased by thirty percent, and this number will only continue to increase due to our current rate of industrialization. Carbon dioxide is one of the major greenhouse gases, and is one of the most common gases found in the earth s atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere in mass amounts by human activities and then absorbed by our oceans. The main way that carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere is by the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. Increased energy composition and with the industrialization age, beginning in the 18th century, has led to a drastic spike in the burning of fossil fuels and therefore the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. • 34. Impact of the Recession on Construction Contractors THE IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS ON THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY JANUARY 2009 INTRODUCTION The current crisis in the world s financial system has left the construction industry facing its toughest challenges for a generation. Salaries are falling; job cuts are predicted to reach 400,000 in England alone; and the impacts look set to get much worse before they get better. No country is immune from the impact of this and the UK, and much of the rest of the world, is already in, or about to enter a recession. Even buoyant construction markets such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are starting to feel the effect, with construction growth rate expected to slow from 20% to 15% in 2009 (Al Mal Capital). The United Nations (UN) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fiscal mitigation measures that were recently announced by the Chancellor (Pre budget statement, November 2008) were not sufficient to address the underlying loss of confidence facing all UK businesses (and people). More innovative ways could be investigated by Government to help the industry survive, such as providing credit insurance; relaxing bonding requirements on public projects; setting up project bank accounts; and providing tax breaks/concessions for sustainable construction R D. At present, the latter has effectively ground to a halt largely as a result of the deeply entrenched uncertainty that abound. Jobs Loss of Skills Almost 400,000 jobs in the construction sector in England could be lost over the next two years (assuming GDP shrinks by 2.2% in 2009 and rises by 0.75% in 2010). It is predicted that the worst affected area will be London, where 23% of workers are expected to be made redundant (Public and Corporate Economic Consultants for the Local Government Association). On the other hand, Eastern Europeans are responding to the downturn in the market by returning home, and this has eased the severity of the job situation in many instances. Given the forecasts for construction output in 2009, it could be assumed that jobs in the public sector may offer more security than those in the private sector. This reinforces the need for Government to establish how an accelerated public spending package will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A tragic hero by definition is a literary character who makes a judgment error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. For example Othello is the husband of Desdemona whom he murders because he has been misled by the villainous Iago. • 36. Beauty Is The Quality Of Beauty What is Beauty? Greek Philosopher, Plato, once said: Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has different points of view about what beauty is. Some people may perceive beauty as how someone looks on the outside. Others may see beauty as being confident in your own skin. According to dictionary.com, beauty is the quality in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure to the mind. For me, beauty comes in act of kindness, in nature, and smiling faces. I took a moment to look at the rich blue water as I heard the sound of the waves softly crashing against the rocks. As I get in the water, I feel the power of the wave pulling me towards it pushing me further and faster away from the sand into the deep water. I got the opportunity to see a dolphin jump out of the water. I took hours looking at the horizon. As I stayed there look out into the horizon, the sun has almost set just the tip is left to disappear into the water. The sky changed from blue to yellow and orange to pink and purpl. I got to see the sky go from day to night. As I start walking back I took one last glimpse of the sky I could see the bright and high moon. I could see the horizon with moonlight reflection in the water. It is certainly easy to understand why nature is appealing. Beauty is in nature, but it can also be in smiling faces. When I was in high school, I volunteered to make and hand out food to those who were less fortunate. We first stopped at a shelter where people were sitting either watching television, reading the newspaper, or just sitting and talking to a friend. We walked in and put a box of sandwiches on a table, and started to hand them out. The people were very grateful and said thank you with huge smiles on their faces. Watching those people smile, bite into sandwiches, and drink their drink warmed my heart. Their smiles made me smile. Knowing that my time was used to make someone s day more hopeful. I began ... • 39. Descriptive Essay On The New York City I close my eyes and everything seems so calm that it is as if time itself has stopped altogether. A wave of peacefulness rushes over me. New York City, I still cannot believe it. I begin to hear a soft hum in my ears that quickly increases in volume. I open my eyes and I am suddenly brought back to reality as the train rushes by, its horn blowing loud and strong. The train slows to a stop and the doors open. All at once a massive crowd of people rush off of the subway. Those of us standing on the platform push through the crowd, praying that our massive group of dancers will all make it onto the train. Due to the morning rush hour there is not a seat in sight and there is barely any room to stand. As the train lurches forward we struggle to stay standing. I look out of the window and watch the flashes of graffiti on the dark walls as we charge forward. The train stops and starts three times. Each station just as chaotic as the last. We quickly approach our fourth stop, West 4th Street, the nerves begin to kick in. The train slows to a stop and once again we push through the morning foot traffic. We follow the signs towards the West 8th Street exit, struggling to stay together. I think to myself, whatever happens, don t lose sight of the chaperone. As we approach the stairwell the air begins to feel cooler. We reach the top of the stairs and the entire atmosphere changes. Whereas the people in the subway were frantic and rude, the people that filled the sidewalks are calm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
