THE INTERNATIONAL SNOWMOBILE
CONGRESS (ISC) Formed in 1969
What is ISC?
An annual event held in early June, at various locations across the snowbelt
which brings together snowmobile manufactures, groomer manufactures,
leaders of snowmobile organizations, grassroots snowmobilers, snowmobile
publication staff, snowmobile administrators, government representatives
and other people interested in snowmobiling.
The congress representatives meet, exchange information and address issues
and concerns common to the industry.
The ISC promotes and supports the future development of snowmobiling and
examines current problems and opportunities facing snowmobiling.
Anyone who attends the ISC is welcome to attend the meeting of any of these
groups; however only official delegates can vote.

COUNCIL (ISC) Formed in 1973
ISC ORGANIZATION
The ISC is dedicated to promoting safe and responsible snowmobiling.
It provides a communication forum and a means of addressing issues
that are common from an international perspective. It consists of
delegates from ACSA, CCSO, SNOFED and RSAA. The ISC has three
chapters which meet throughout the year to conduct business.

AMERICAN COUNCIL OF SNOWMOBILE
ASSOCIATIONS (ACSA) Formed in 1995
ACSA ORGANIZATION
ACSA is dedicated to providing leadership and support to organized
snowmobiling in the United States. It facilities effective communication
and cooperation among snowmobiling organizations, governments and
industry in the pursuit of common goals such as promoting safe and
environmentally responsible snowmobiling. It acts as national
coordinator and spokesperson for the snowmobiling community and it is
comprised of delegates from the various state snowmobile associations.
STATE ASSOCIATIONS
Each state in the snow-belt areas of the U.S. has a statewide snowmobile
association, with representatives from the local clubs, who represent the
interests of snowmobile users, dealers, and service and supply companies
within their state.
LOCAL CLUBS
Each state associations is made up of its local community based snowmobile
clubs which design, build, maintain and groom trails. The trail system is made
up of segments located on public, corporate and private lands.

CANADIAN COUNCIL OF SNOWMOBILE
ORGANIZATIONS (CCSO) Formed in 1973
CCSO ORGANIZATION
CCSO is dedicated to providing leadership and support to organized
snowmobiling in Canada. It facilities effective communicational and cooperation
among snowmobiling organizations, governments and industry in the pursuit of
common goals such as promoting safe and environmentally responsible
snowmobiling. It acts as national coordinator and spokesperson for the
snowmobiling community and it is comprised of delegates from the various
provincial snowmobile associations.
PROVINCIAL ORGANIZATIONS
Each province and territory in Canada has a non-profit snowmobile
organization representing the interests of snowmobile clubs, users, dealers
and service and supply companies within their area.
LOCAL CLUBS
Each provincial organizational is made up of its local community based
snowmobile clubs which design, build, maintain and groom snowmobile trails.
The trail system is mad up of segments located on public, corporate and private

SWEDEN (SNOFED) Formed in 1992
SNOFED ORGANIZATION
SNOFED is the Swedish federation of over 300 snowmobile clubs
representing the interests of snowmobile clubs, users, dealers
and service and supply companies.
LOCAL CLUBS
SNOFED is made up of local community based snowmobile clubs
which design, build, maintain and groom snowmobile trails. The trail
system is mad up of segments located on public, corporate and
private lands.

RSAA ORGANIZATION
RSAA is the Russian federation of snowmobile and ATV clubs
representing the interests of clubs, users, dealers and service

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SNOWMOBILE
ADMINSTRATORS (IASA) Formed in 1974
IASA ORGANIZATION
IASA is comprised of snowmobile program administrators from the USA,
Canada, and Sweden. It promotes sound management of recreational
snowmobiling including snowmobile safety; uniformity & enforcement
of laws, rules and regulations; international, federal, state, provincial
and territorial cooperation and coordination; harmonious relationships
with the environmental and wildlife; and the collection, development and
dissemination of snowmobile related data and information. It is also the
leading source providing statistics, guidelines and resources to the
snowmobiling community.

ASSOCIATION (ISMA) Formed in 1995
ISMA ORGANIZATION
ISMA is an organization representing the four major snowmobile
manufacturers. They coordinate committees within the industry to
improve the sport of snowmobiling throughout the world and to handle
concerns such as snowmobile safety, the promotion of the life-style
activity of snowmobiling, keeping accurate statistics, reporting the
growth of the industry and the positive economic impact the life-style
activity has throughout the world. The four major snowmobile
manufacturers are:

ISTC is an organization of tourism bureau representatives and

NATIONAL SNOWMOBILE FOUNDATION
(NSF) Formed in 1987
NSF ORGANIZATION
The NSF is a 501(c)(3) foundation which receives, administers
and expends funds from educational, charitable and research
organizations with the goal of improving the public understanding
of safe snowmobiling. It assists snowmobile organizations with
fundraising activities for charities.

14. The Snowmobile Association of
FRIENDS OF SNOWMOBILING POLITICAL
ACTION COMMITTEE (FOSPAC) Formed in 2002
FOSPAC ORGANIZATION
FOSPAC was established to provide a means for individuals to
give financial support, on a voluntary basis, to political candidates
and committees at the Federal Level. It will support individuals
seeking election or re-election at the National Level who understand
the concerns and the important issues of the snowmobiling
community throughout the United States. Its goals are to encourage
and support better government by supporting candidates for Federal
Office that support issues related to responsible snowmobiling.

SNOWMOBILE SAFETY AND CERTIFICATION
COMMITTEE (SSCC) Formed in 1974
SSCC ORGANIZATION
The SSCC is responsible for the safety certification standards
covering new production snowmobiles. The members work
with 3rd party inspection agencies and engineering groups.

FAME (ISHOF) Formed in 1990
ISHOF ORGANIZATION
The ISHOF was formed to recognize and preserve the history of
people who have contributed significantly to the sport of
snowmobiling. Categories of recognition include: volunteers,
promoters, explorers, adventurers, inventors, designers,
manufacturers, trail and program developers, journalists,
groomers, and historians.

Formed in 1975
IRON DOG BRIGADE ORGANIZATION
Honorary group of legendary snowmobilers dedicated to recognizing
and honoring the individuals who have made outstanding contributions
to snowmobiling. Membership is by invitation only.

THIRSTY DOGS
Formed in 1985
THIRSTY DOGS ORGANIZATION
Fundraising organization open to all snowmobilers who participate
in an initiation ceremony. All dues and fundraising go to worthy
snowmobiling causes. Everyone starts as a pup and then eventually
becomes a fully grown Thirsty Dog.
