Driving to ZSL London Zoo
Deadline: ASAP or Summer 2023. Participants: Sharon Liu, Yimin Liu. Purpose: To then board a plane to Changsha, to talk
about driving.

Via M1. Takes 2 hours and 23 minutes (123 miles).
The landmarks and the lanes, are important. Know how and when, you need to turn. Know about the major
intersections, to know when to turn, so you don’t need to know about the landmarks, so much.
You need to memorise this route.
1. Colliery Close.
2. Nottingham to Leicester stage.
a. Turn left onto Soudan Drive.
b. Turn right onto Robin Hood Way.
c. Turn left onto Meadows Way.
d. Slight left, onto Queen’s Drive, next to the River Trent.
e. At the Queen’s Drive Roundabout, take the first exit to Clifton Boulevard.
i. Cross the river.
f. Go right, onto the slip road.
i. This is a main junction.
ii. This turn, happens when you first approach the main junction.
iii. From here, we are in our less well travelled territory.
g. Turn right onto Clifton Lane.
i. This lane change, happens when you are within the main junction.
h. At the Farnborough Road Roundabout, take the second exit onto Clifton Lane.
i. This is the first roundabout.
ii. Continue forwards.
i. At the Roundabout, take the second exit onto Barton Lane.
i. This is the second major junction.
ii. Continue forwards.
j. At Mill Hill Roundabout, take the second exit onto Remembrance Way.
i. This is the first roundabout.
ii. 5.6 miles.
k. At Kegworth Exchange, take the second exit onto the M1 slip road.
i. This is the second major junction.
3. M1 stage.
a. 108 miles. (1 hour 46 minutes.)
4. London stage.
a. At Brent Cross Flyover, take the third exit.
i. Turn 90 degrees, to the right.
ii. 0.3 miles.
b. Continue forwards, onto the Brent Cross Flyover.
i. 3 miles.
c. At the T-junction, turn right, onto Finchley Road.
i. 0.7 miles.
d. At Regent’s Park, turn left, onto Outer Circle.
