ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
Automobiles like these are around the world everyday, and their exhaust destroys our air everyday.
Our environment is a major aspect of our life today. Many of us don't take our
Earth seriously and think that as long as pollution doesn't hurt them they can go ahead and throw
garbage on the ground or spill oil down the drain. Well to many people have that theory and they are
killing off our Earth and also physically harming themselves from the air they breath and the water
they swim in. Our Earth is fragile like a human and people don't know. There are many different
types of environmental pollution (e.g. Water, air, atmospheric.)
Scientists believe that all...show more content...
If this depletion opens up dangerous and deadly UV Rays from the sun will come into Earth. Air
pollution causes global warming which scientist believe is making the Earth warmer and melting ice
up in the South and North
Pole. The country Holland has had water from the ocean got too high for them and flooded into
towns. Holland spent millions of dollars to put up "dikes" which are big barriers in the water to
prevent their town to be completely submerged.
With the ocean getting deeper coastal cites all around the world could flood, billions of dollars
would be spent to try to prevent it, but in a while it could not be stopped. Instead of waiting and
having to spend all this money why don't we put it together today and try different ways of
preventing air pollution, it would be much easier than all the trouble of stopping flooding.
Water pollution is another major aspect of environmental pollution.
Water pollution is scary because over 75% of our Earth is covered by the ocean.
Water pollution comes from many different sources around the world. One major pollutant that
destroys the ocean is oil spills. The oil from an oil spill kills hundreds of sea animals from fish, to
whales, to birds. Below is a small list of just some of the major oil spills. Notice how many tons
were spilled into our ocean... Notable Oil Spills Date Location Description Tons

2. Environmental Problems: Air Pollution Essay
Introduction:
Air pollution is among the critical challenges facing modern societies and is one of the most pressing
environing mental problems. Air pollution is accountable for major harmful effects on human
strength, animal survives, natural ecosystems and the man–made environment. It is also responsible
for climate change due to the improved greenhouse effect, acid rain, and the reduction of the ozone
layer that inaugurate important global environmental problems. Air pollution occurs both outdoors
and indoors and is caused by human activities and natural mechanisms. Although air quality
degradation because of air pollution is a global problem that threatens humanity's wellbeing overall,
it is largely associated with environmental bias....show more content...

Indoor air pollution:
Indoor air pollution mentions to the amount of chemical, biological and physical pollutants in the air
confidential a building. Indoor air pollution can often be inferior to outdoor air pollution. There is a
extensive range of indoor air pollutant causes in houses including building resources, hard–pressed
wood goods and equipment, dominant heating and cooling systems, several individual care or
household cleaning products, painting colors, solvents, heating or cooking applications (stoves,
wood and gas burning fireplaces, gas fires), tobacco burn, office machineries and a diversity of
other crops used in daily events. (Anastasia Dimitriou and Vasilia Christidou, 2011)
In addition, outdoor pollutants are also found in indoor places, such as radon (a natural trace
component of soil and ground). The main foundation of indoor air pollution is household burning of
coal or biomass for cooking and warming. It is projected that more than half of the world's
population trusts on animal dung, wood, crop waste, or coal to meet their most elementary energy
needs. The main indoor pollutants that can almost be drawn in any home are between others

3. Speech On Environmental Pollution
Pollution is a big problem in this day and age. Some pollution comes from burning gas to fuel our
cars or some other forms of pollution comes from volcanoes. Carbon dioxide is the main pollutant
warming the earth. But if we start producing less carbon dioxide then the earth will heat up even
more. I know it's crazy right. Carbon dioxide can be produced by cars, planes, power plants, and
many more activities that involve the burning of gas. Did you know that within the past 150 years
we humans have produced the highest level of sulfur dioxide. Yes it's true. When volcanoes erupt
they produce sulfur dioxide which causes pollution but in this world today humans produce the
most amount of sulfur dioxide. You might be asking yourself what are other humans doing to
help prevent pollution? Well, some industrialized countries are trying to help prevent pollution a
little bit more. But we can help them with that by driving/flying less or recycling more. So let's
throw our best efforts in to help save our atmosphere. The most polluted city in the world is Dehli,
New York. Delhi, New York is so polluted that there is a little bit of a yellow tint in the sky.
Matthieu Daley spent 5 days taking pictures all around Delhi and in his photographs you can see a
little bit of yellow over the sky. We can see physical results of pollution in his photographs. No–one
wants to have yellow skies so let's throw in a helping hand and do more for the atmosphere.

Pollution is a growing issue in the world and is the major cause that contributes to many
environmental problems. What is usually classified as pollution, what kind of pollution is present
in the world, and what the people are doing to deal with this pollution issue in the world. There are
several problems with world pollution that are associated with global warming and include waste
disposal, water pollution, and air pollution. These things are usually caused by people on the planet
who produce waste. This has been a growing complication and is (omit) now been taken as a serious
issue. Solutions to these situations have been considered to keep the Earth and all the things in it.
One of the situations that are involved with world...show more content...
"The problem of exposure to hazardous materials remains, except that it is spread over a wider area"
(Newton).
Illegal waste disposal is also another reason that contributes to world pollution.
It may be defined as the improper disposal of waste at any site other than a regularly licensed
landfill or other facility. Usually this kind of disposal is done because people are unaware of the
law and are unwilling to take the time or refuse to pay the costs for properly disposing materials,
or are in possession of toxic materials that may cause legal problems. (Watts) "Illegal waste
dumping ranges from being a simple nuisance to a serious health hazard and often occur in isolated
or desolate places. In the United States, illegal waste dumping is often thought of as a local
problem; however, the motives and types of people who engage in it–including multinational
corporations, criminal syndicates, and individuals–persist throughout the world" (Watts).
The dangers of disposing of waste illegally are often unknown by some corporations or even
ignored. By not getting rid of waste properly it encourages more dumping, so a small problem may
rapidly become a major hazard. Another danger is the health risks posed by the type of material
being discarded. Dangerous materials commonly dumped illegally include such medical wastes as
used syringes

5. Ocean Pollution Essay
Everything in this world we use comes from the ocean in some way. The air we breathe, the water
we drink, even the products we use day to day, would not be possible without the ocean. That's
why the issue of ocean pollution is so important and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
We depend on the ocean for so much in our life, without it we would surely become extinct.
People seem to think that since the ocean is so large and vast, we can dump as much waste as
we'd like into it and it will never have an effect on us. However, since we've been polluting the ocean
as far back as Roman times, the evidence of ocean pollution becoming a major problem is all too
clear.
There are many different ways the ocean can become polluted....show more content...
Fishnets improperly discarded into the ocean can also cause major issues, tangling into unsuspecting
mammals and fish. According to the Marin Academy's Oceanography website, there are over
46,000 pieces of plastic floating in each square mile of ocean off the Northeast coast of the United
States, which contributes to the death of 100,000 marine mammals and two millions sea birds yearly.
A way you wouldn't expect pollution to be caused is by noise. The pressure from the sounds omitted
by ships, sonar devices, oil rigs, and earthquakes can disrupt communication, hunting, migration, and
reproduction patterns from many marine animals like whales and dolphins. This can throw the
whole system off balance. Air pollution can also cause ocean pollution by being absorbed into the
water and contaminating it, and vice versa. Ocean pollution can eventually cause air pollution. Dirt
can also spill into waterways from top soil or silt from fields or construction sites, causing
endangerment to fish and wildlife habitats.
Out of all of these ways, oil spills can cause a noticeably excessive amount of damage to the ocean.
Although only 12% of the oil entering the sea is caused by spills, they can deteriorate ocean life and
environment more than any other pollution. One gallon of used oil spilled into the ocean, which
contains toxic chemicals and heavy metals severely dangerous to the micro–organism at the base of
the food chain, can cause an eight–acre layer

6. Abstract On Environmental Pollution
Abstract
Environmental pollution is anything that can cause harm to the environment. Pollution is any
undesired alteration of the environment and is often caused by human activities (Mader, 2016, pg.
552). Types of human pollution would be air, water, soil, radioactive, thermal, noise, and light. Each
of these forms of pollution has been known to cause the enormous amount of concern for the
environment. There are laws in place now that are limiting pollution and to help control the issue.
Environmental pollution is a serious problem we are facing globally. It is the debate concerning
pollution, which we have been pondering for the past century. Prior to the industrial revolution,
scientists thought that the atmosphere was untouched by man–made pollutants until they found air
bubbles hidden in the core of Greenland's ice shelf (Stromberg). After finding this essential
development, scientist began to reconsider the initial cause of pollution and how to decrease the
lasting effects of it. With this discovery, pollution was traced back to Ancient Rome and it was
decided that globally we needed a new approach for dealing with this problem. There are numerous
types of pollution and they each have a devastating effect on the global climate. A scientist has been
working on ways to re–direct the negative effects of pollution and at the same time encourage
people to try to find ways to do that part to help with this effort. We all can find some way to
improve the world and decrease pollution.
The problems with air pollution seem to be one of the largest most discussed situations. The Natural
Resource Defense Council (NRDC) air pollution is the release of pollutants into the air that is
damaging human health and world. There are many forms of air pollution and smog and soot are
two of them. These two are discussed more when dissecting this problem due to them being the
most common forms of air position, which are also the most detrimental of them all. When the
sunlight and emissions from fossil fuels interact that is how smog is created. The creation of soot
formed from smoke, dust, allergens and other particles are spread throughout the air in gas or solid
form. Methane is also a huge component of the

7. Environmental health is the science that studies how the environment influences the human disease
and health. Environment means things that are natural to us in the environment, for instance air,
water, and soil. However, it also covers the physical, chemical, biological, and social features that
surround us every day. The physical environment is the man–made or built structures that include our
living, work, and even schools. Included in the community systems such as the roads and our
transportations, and waste management. However, the alterations such as air pollution to our natural
environment, is included in the physical section. The social environment is our social lifestyles like
diet, exercise, socioeconomic status and many...show more content...
The pollution has both chronic and acute effects on our health, and affects many of our systems and
organs. The health consequences of lower levels of pollution have been more difficult to decide. The
first cause is that people differ in response to the environment and the toxics. When we are exposed
to the different conditions caused by the environment, the variation is wide because of how we react.
With this variability of the population, it can mask the effects that do occur in a sensitive segment of
the population. The second difficulty is our age, and the timing of the exposures and how it will
influence both sensitivity to the environmental agent, and the type of effect it will cause our health.
Infants and children may acquire lifelong damage compared to us adults. Environmental regulation
and pollution control will remain an important cornerstone of the public health policy. The focus will
be prevention, instead of disease treatment. Control of the pollution is a highly cost–effective means
ensuring public health. With the contaminated environments and the work hazards in occupations,
improving the pollution control may lead to a reduced health care disparities. When the health of all
citizens is protected that a nation can fulfill its potential. Another reason we could consider is the
climate change. The climate poses a challenge to our health. Threats to our health caused by a toxin
or disease pathogen, there are ways the

Depending on your environmental standpoint, the market could be the solution to our
environmental problems or it could be what is causing them. Using a market approach to solve
environmental problems means employing tactics such as green taxes, green consumption,
offsetting, cap and trade policies, double dividends, and fixing how subsidies are distributed.
Green taxes help companies to pay for the true cost of their activities, "Pollution taxes or green
taxes have been called 'corrective taxes' because they correct price distortions that result from a
failure to include the full cost of resource depletion or environmental destruction in the end price
of a product or an industry's activity" (Good News For a Change, 302). Examples of green taxes
are landfill costs, toxic waste taxes, or carbon taxes. Denmark has tried their hand at a carbon tax
on industry emissions, they took money for the company's emissions and then returned the money
back to said industry in order to help the industry invent ways to reduce energy use in their
production. Another example of a green tax is when "some municipalities have required households
to dispose of all waste in special trash bags, purchased by consumers themselves, and often costing a
dollar or more each" (Environment and Society: Markets and Commodities, 39). Green consumption
gives consumers the ability to choose desired environmental impact with their wallet. If a consumer
is worried about carbon emissions they can purchase products

The environmental issue I choose is pollution. There is different types of pollution. There is water
pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, thermal pollution, radioactive pollution, noise pollution, and
light pollution. Every type of pollution is bad and it is causing health issues and even worst, deaths.
Pollution is A very serious subject that is harmful to people and the environment. It is killing A lot
of people. 4.6 million people die each year from pollution. Each year 1.2 trillion gallons of
untreated sewage, stormwater, and industrial waste are dumped into US water.Pollution is one of
the most biggest global killers affecting over 100 million people. Over 1 million seabirds and
100,000 sea mammals are killed by pollution every year. Approximately 40% of lakes in America
are too polluted for fishing, aquatic life, or swimming. Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate
the natural surroundings. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem. Air Pollution is the most dangerous
forms of pollution. It occurs due to many of reasons, excessive burning of fuel, cooking, driving
and other types of activities that are similar. They release A huge amount of chemical substances in
the air everyday; these pollute the air. Also smoke from chimneys, factories, vehicles or burning
basically occurs due to coal burning. Air pollution is breaking down our ozone layer. There is
different types of pollution but environmental pollution has been around for centuries and it is
affecting the environment. People should care about this topic because pollution is a serious
problem and it causes many deaths and illnesses.
The worst types of pollution are air pollution and water pollution, they don't only harm our
environment but also our health. It's really scary to think about because around 15,000 people in
the world each day die because of water pollution and 2.4 million people in the world die each year
because of air pollution. So this is a big environmental issue. The causes of water pollution is water
and sewage waste. World population is increasing each year. This is causing huge environmental and
health damage. Most water pollution doesn't begin in the water it starts with what stuff filters and
enters through the water.

Earth's 2016 surface temperature was recorded as the warmest year since 1880, and 2017 is on
track to be one of the three warmest years on record (NASA). The rate of climate change has been
growing at alarming rates in recent years, and it is projected to continue increasing at higher rates in
the near future. The negative effects of climate change are seen in the decline of human health and
wildlife. While the United States government is attempting to diminish the effects of climate change,
more regulations must be passed by Congress in order to minimize the pollution in the environment,
decrease damage to wildlife and lower the average temperature on Earth.
The concentration of pollution on Earth is rising at alarming rates as the burning of fossil fuels and
greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase from human activities. Fossil fuels are burned to heat
homes, power cars, provide electricity and in manufacturing. The high dependency on fossil fuels is
increasing the rate of climate change "the industrial activities that our modern civilization depends
upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 400 parts per
million in the last 150 years" (NASA). Human interaction and industrial manufacturing has almost
doubled the amount of carbon molecules and toxins in the air. Fuel emissions and pollution in the
environment are negatively effecting the health of those exposed to it, because the gas emissions

Our environment is affected by our daily actions. The earth is plagued with land, air and water
pollution. Some of the problems we face on earth are: deforestation, nuclear waste, acid rain, global
warming, overpopulation and some animals are endangered. Air pollution has many different sources.
Power–generated plants, oil refineries, chemical plants, and steel mills contribute to about 140
million tons of pollutants into the air every year. Automobiles account for at least 80 percent, ofair
pollution; the heaviest polluter. Another type of air pollution is acid rain. Acid rain is formed when
sulfur and nitrogen are distributed from factories, automobiles and power plants. The sulfur and

Solid waste such as tires, diapers and plastics are buried in landfills each year. It takes generations
for them to decompose. Today, there are laws that penalize manufacturing plants that dispose
hazardous wastes. These plants dump these hazardous materials in nearby woods or dump them into
streams (this practice was common fifty years ago). We need rain forests for survival. Rain forests
pump fresh oxygen into the atmosphere, protect soil from erosion and absorb carbon dioxide.
Rain forests cover 4.5 billion acres and accounts for 7 percent of the earth's land. The Amazon in
Brazil is the largest rain forest (2 million acres). The fate of today's rain forest is in trouble. A
process called deforestation is the leading problem. Deforestation is the process of cutting down
forests to use the land for farming and grazing cattle. Farmers "slash and burn" forest turning them
into desert land. Brazil promised to implement laws that were tougher to protect the Amazon.
These laws cut deforestation in half. By 1994, the burning started again and in 1996 the burning
was at it's worst. The ozone layer blocks harmful ultraviolet rays, that comes from the sun.
Chemicals released from the earth are depleting the ozone layer. Skin cancer is on the rise as a
result of the depletion of the ozone layer. Scientist states that every 1 percent of depletion of the
ozone layer, the rate of skin cancer will rise 5

Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. It is a major
problem in America and as well as the world. Pollution not only damages the environment, but
damages us also. It has cause many problems ranging from lung cancer to the greenhouse effect. It
is all among us but we continue to live in our own filth. What is the reason behind this flawed
logic? In this paper I will examine the problems and solutions for this issue.
Automobiles are undeniable the greatest source of pollution. The noise pollution created by cars is
immense. Another polluting effect of cars is the heat it creates. This heat makes it unpleasant to be
near the car while its running. And of course the most famous...show more content...
American citizens throw away millions of tons of garbage each year, and this trash has to go
somewhere. While there are projects underway to clean and reuse this refuse most of it gets dumped
into huge landfills. These landfills are disgusting festering blisters on our country's landscape. But
people continue to consume and throw away more and more in the name of convenience. As they see
it, when things get old, throw it away and get a new one. They blame the government for the trash
problem, but the truth blame should be placed on themselves.
The last great source of pollution lays in the businesses. Although not common, businesses have been
known to dump their waste products into streams, lakes, and rivers. This may seem like a relatively
small occurrence that really is not your concern, but you're wrong. Each time one of these companies
pollutes there are horrible consequences to pay. Mutations, destroyed ecosystems, and human death
have all occurred as a direct result of illegal dumping. It contaminates our drinking water and soil. It
causes entire communities of humans (not to mention animals) to move on to new places not to
return for at least a century. The pollutants dumped by industry are so concentrated that a single
barrel can destroy an entire lake's ecosystem. Not only do companies dump chemicals, but also hot
water. This hot water kills most life it comes into contact with, but also causes an overgrowth

"Pollution is nothing but the resources we are not harvesting. We allow them to be dispersed
because we have been ignorant of their value." – R. Buckminster Fuller. A bus company in Great
Britain has taken this quote into full effect. The Bath Bus Company has created a first ever
"Bio–Bus" and will transfer its passengers between the Bath and Bristol Airport. This 40–seat bus
runs completely on biomethane gas which is generated through food waste and human waste. This
bus fills two needs: transporting passengers and improving air quality. By recycling an undesirable
product, this bus company has created something that improves their society (Pollution Control).
There are many more examples of countries and communities developing a product or plan to
improve the quality of their life. In fact, environmental protection has dated back to the beginning
of ancient civilizations and has continued to be an important concept in today's society. George
Perkins Marsh, an American diplomat and philologist, drafted a book titled Man and Nature. In his
writings, he explained the downfall of many ancient civilizations was caused by environmental
abuse. From deforesting hillsides to eroding their soils, many of the early civilizations destroyed
their natural fertility. As we look back in history, it is important that we learn from our mistakes.

Improper handling of solid waste and indiscriminate disposal in open spaces, road margins, tank
beds, and etcetera, give rise to numerous potential risks to the environment and to human health.
Direct health risks mainly concern those working in the field without using proper gloves, uniforms,
and etcetera; a high percentage of waste workers and individuals who live near or on disposal sites
are infected with gastrointestinal parasites, worms, and related organisms (SWMM, 2000).
For the public, the main risks to health are indirect and related to poor water, land, and air quality.
In addition, infrequent collection of waste provides an attractive breeding ground for flies and rats
(SWMM, 2000).
The most obvious environmental damage caused by solid waste is aesthetic, i.e. waste that litter
public areas is ugly and smelly. A more serious risk is the transfer of pollution to ground water and
land as well as the pollution of air from improper burning of waste. Many waste activities generate
greenhouse gases; e.g., landfills generate methane and refuse fleets are significant sources of carbon
dioxide and nitrous oxide. Open burning dumpsites produce volatilised heavy metals (e.g. mercury
and lead), dioxins, and furan. Leachate from unlined and uncovered dumpsites contaminates surface
and ground waters (Cointreau, 2006).

Pollution
Pollution has become a major problem in our everyday lives. Pollution is everywhere whether it is
realized or not. It is in the air, in the water, in everything. Pollution is not the result of one person's
actions. We all contribute to its growth. Where do you think all your waste goes? In the
environment around you. And that is exactly the problem. People do not seem to care because they
do not see its effects clearly. What they do not realize is that it is right in front of their noses.
What is Pollution?
What is Considered to be Pollution?
Almost all waste is pollution. Plastic, glass, paper, tin, you name it. Pollution is something that
negatively impacts our biosphere. That is all the portions of Earth that contain life. When you light
that cigarette, you are polluting the air. When you leave that empty Pepsi bottle by the beach, you
are polluting the water. Not just the water in that area. All water is connected. You are messing with
the whole Hydrosphere at that point.
Who Causes Pollution? Every single living thing causes pollution. But who is the main cause?
Humans are the number one cause of pollution. Our society seems to have an "I don't care"
attitude towards this problem. Everyone disposes of waste. Everything from a plastic fork to a
broken television becomes pollution. It all collects and becomes a larger problem. No one sees it as
their own fault though. And why is that? Humans like to look to bigger things. They see oil spills
and things of that

urbanization, as shown by China, can cause negative effects on the environment as well as the health
of the people in an area.
How to Solve the Environmental Health Problem
While China's economy has improved, the environmental conditions have worsened. Although things
may seem bleak for China, there are simple solutions that can aid the country in revamping its norm.
China can make a transition from utilizing coal, which includes fossil fuels, and begin using
renewable energy. Another important approach for China to recuperate can only occur with the help
of the government. The Chinese government must acknowledge the negative effects of pollution on
public health. They must recognize the undesirable consequences of the smog from factories and
begin to place more regulations on power plant emissions. The government can also begin to import
electric vehicles, which will demonstrate cleaner fuel standards. This will allow people to continue
to drive their cars, without the fear of harmful emissions being freed into the air. This can go
hand–in–hand with a plan to increase green spaces throughout the country and improve urban
planning so that urbanization

air and thermal pollution. This has caused some people to leave their homes, animals to die and
even children to become sick which is quite disheartening. This paper addresses the environmental

However, with technological developments, conducting this research will involve a lot of online
research. Peer–reviewed journals and articles that address the topic have been used to establish
information regarding the causes, and the effects of water, soil, air and thermal pollution in the

who are dedicated to providing environmental protection to the communities of NW Indiana.
Furthermore, for the credibility of my research, I engaged a few representatives from environmental
organizations that have done extensive research and are currently working with NW Indiana to
correct the pollution issues at hand. I messaged back and forth with Jesse Kharbanda, who is the
Executive Director of the Hoosier Environmental Council (HEC). I spoke over the phone with Hala

Northwest Indiana office. Also, I met in–person with a friend, and Park Ranger at the Indiana Dunes
State Park, Rick Neville. Each individual that I had spoken with had a different area to talk about.
They are all working on something to help reduce pollution, whether it be pushing new legislation
through office, maintaining pollution standards/limits, or conducting research on the effect that
pollution has played in our communities.

The environmental pollution history is as old as life itself. At life's beginning on Earth, man
discovered the use of fire and burnt food for cooking food with the emitted smoke from it being the
earliest environmental pollutants of this world. First forward to the Industrial Revolution of the 19th
century and that was when the Earth experienced the highest rates of environmental pollution. After
the machine invention from printing press and later motor vehicles, the pollution menace started
enveloping the environment and negative effects began to be seen. The unplanned industrialization,
mostly in the developed nations, stimulated its spread. Together with the amazing advancements in

Many Americans rely on ground water for drinking and, up to the few decades ago, there was
careless release of industrial wastes into rivers and streams. The congress of the US passed the
Clean Water Act in the 70's so as to cut down on water pollution (Library of Congress., United
States., & United States, 1973).
History of Green Energy
By the 20th century, the effects environmental pollution had been felt in most countries throughout
the world. This made the world's leaders to see the need of eradicating and reducing the enormous
levels of pollutants flowing into Earth's eco systems. This saw the need for green energy. One of
the earliest green energy (geothermal energy) is traced to the first decade of the 20th century when
the idea of placing turbines over stream was discovered so as to generate electricity. Such principle
has, over the years, been expanded and today there are several geothermal plants across the world
which creates clean energy.
Similarly, hydrokinetics has a very long history as a green energy source. It was first used in the
year 200 BCE when watermills and water wheels were created. Presently, hydrokinetics is used for
generation of clean energy from river and ocean currents with any harm on the natural life of aquatic
animals. Wind energy also has

1) Introduction Nowadays there are two major problems in the world one is environmental
pollution and second one is energy crisis. Global warming is one of the main anxiety of
environmental pollution. Fossil fuels play main role in global warming; so we need renewable
clean energy to deal with this issue. Second major issue is the energy crisis. Biological CO2
fixation and energy production are expected to be potential measures that will diminish the increase
of atmospheric CO2 and help to evade future energy crises So to overcome the environmental
problems we must taken following steps:
Sinking the use of fossil fuels.
Removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere.
Capturing and sequestering the CO2 emitted by fossil fuel combustion before it enters the
atmosphere.
For executing these points in our life we must need biofuels. The production of fuel from
photosynthetic organisms like plants and algae is a renewable process using solar energy; therefore,
biofuel is a capable resource and biomass is obtained for its production is from harvesting forestry
and other plant residues. Even garbage from domestic houses and food industries can also be used as
starting material of oil production by thermochemical liquefaction. We focus on

20. Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen. It's a great honour for me to be here today, to talk to you on
Environmental pollution.
Environmental pollution includes two terms, namely, environment and pollution. In simple words,
environment means all what does exist, our surroundings and that affects and influences the survival,
growth, and development of organisms. In other words, environment means aggregate of
surrounding things. Pollution means the presence of dangerous unnatural ingredients causing
imbalance in the ecosystem and health hazards to human beings and animals.
Environment today is worsening along with time and worse, it does not seem to draw the attention
of the people. The main cause of this crisis in the name of development and Industrialisation. The
saddest truth no one gives a 'DAMN'. If nothing is done, it will definitely be an impediment to
developments and is not only happening in Malaysia but around the globe. All of us living here on
this planet planet are losing our conscience...show more content...
Noise from heavy machinery and vehicles can cause hearing problems and in extreme cases,
deafness. More and more noise is the creation of modern civilization and has now become a major
environmental pollutant, specially in urban areas. The most notable effect of noise pollution is on
hearing. It may cause total loss of hearing that may result in the reduction of worker's efficiency.
At the higher levels, it may lead to physical and psychological damage. There is evidence that
noise is one of the major causes of stress and anxiety. It also causes headaches and irritability. It
may also affect blood pressure and heart beat. As there is growing number of vehicles on the road,
we are exposed to noise pollution everyday. The government in advanced countries encourage their
citizens to take the public buses and trains by providing an affordable and efficient transportation
