towns. Holland spent millions of dollars to put up "dikes" which are big barriers in the water to

reproduction patterns from many marine animals like whales and dolphins. This can throw the
whole system off balance. Air pollution can also cause ocean pollution by being absorbed into the
water and contaminating it, and vice versa. Ocean pollution can eventually cause air pollution. Dirt
can also spill into waterways from top soil or silt from fields or construction sites, causing
endangerment to fish and wildlife habitats.
Out of all of these ways, oil spills can cause a noticeably excessive amount of damage to the ocean.

development, scientist began to reconsider the initial cause of pollution and how to decrease the
lasting effects of it. With this discovery, pollution was traced back to Ancient Rome and it was

environmental problems means employing tactics such as green taxes, green consumption,

begin to place more regulations on power plant emissions. The government can also begin to import
electric vehicles, which will demonstrate cleaner fuel standards. This will allow people to continue
to drive their cars, without the fear of harmful emissions being freed into the air. This can go

region as well. Luckily, I have also found that there are several different organizations and groups
who are dedicated to providing environmental protection to the communities of NW Indiana.
Furthermore, for the credibility of my research, I engaged a few representatives from environmental
organizations that have done extensive research and are currently working with NW Indiana to
correct the pollution issues at hand. I messaged back and forth with Jesse Kharbanda, who is the
Executive Director of the Hoosier Environmental Council (HEC). I spoke over the phone with Hala
Kuss, who is the Director of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) for the
Northwest Indiana office. Also, I met in–person with a friend, and Park Ranger at the Indiana Dunes
State Park, Rick Neville. Each individual that I had spoken with had a different area to talk about.
They are all working on something to help reduce pollution, whether it be pushing new legislation
through office, maintaining pollution standards/limits, or conducting research on the effect that
pollution has played in our communities.
Research

The environmental pollution history is as old as life itself. At life's beginning on Earth, man
discovered the use of fire and burnt food for cooking food with the emitted smoke from it being the
earliest environmental pollutants of this world. First forward to the Industrial Revolution of the 19th
century and that was when the Earth experienced the highest rates of environmental pollution. After
the machine invention from printing press and later motor vehicles, the pollution menace started
enveloping the environment and negative effects began to be seen. The unplanned industrialization,

Many Americans rely on ground water for drinking and, up to the few decades ago, there was
careless release of industrial wastes into rivers and streams. The congress of the US passed the
Clean Water Act in the 70's so as to cut down on water pollution (Library of Congress., United
States., & United States, 1973).
History of Green Energy
By the 20th century, the effects environmental pollution had been felt in most countries throughout
the world. This made the world's leaders to see the need of eradicating and reducing the enormous
levels of pollutants flowing into Earth's eco systems. This saw the need for green energy. One of
the earliest green energy (geothermal energy) is traced to the first decade of the 20th century when
the idea of placing turbines over stream was discovered so as to generate electricity. Such principle
has, over the years, been expanded and today there are several geothermal plants across the world
which creates clean energy.
Similarly, hydrokinetics has a very long history as a green energy source. It was first used in the
year 200 BCE when watermills and water wheels were created. Presently, hydrokinetics is used for
generation of clean energy from river and ocean currents with any harm on the natural life of aquatic

1) Introduction Nowadays there are two major problems in the world one is environmental
pollution and second one is energy crisis. Global warming is one of the main anxiety of
environmental pollution. Fossil fuels play main role in global warming; so we need renewable
clean energy to deal with this issue. Second major issue is the energy crisis. Biological CO2
fixation and energy production are expected to be potential measures that will diminish the increase
of atmospheric CO2 and help to evade future energy crises So to overcome the environmental
problems we must taken following steps:
Sinking the use of fossil fuels.
Removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere.
Capturing and sequestering the CO2 emitted by fossil fuel combustion before it enters the
atmosphere.
For executing these points in our life we must need biofuels. The production of fuel from
photosynthetic organisms like plants and algae is a renewable process using solar energy; therefore,
biofuel is a capable resource and biomass is obtained for its production is from harvesting forestry
and other plant residues. Even garbage from domestic houses and food industries can also be used as

Environmental pollution includes two terms, namely, environment and pollution. In simple words,
environment means all what does exist, our surroundings and that affects and influences the survival,
growth, and development of organisms. In other words, environment means aggregate of

Noise from heavy machinery and vehicles can cause hearing problems and in extreme cases,
deafness. More and more noise is the creation of modern civilization and has now become a major
environmental pollutant, specially in urban areas. The most notable effect of noise pollution is on
hearing. It may cause total loss of hearing that may result in the reduction of worker's efficiency.
At the higher levels, it may lead to physical and psychological damage. There is evidence that
noise is one of the major causes of stress and anxiety. It also causes headaches and irritability. It
may also affect blood pressure and heart beat. As there is growing number of vehicles on the road,
we are exposed to noise pollution everyday. The government in advanced countries encourage their
citizens to take the public buses and trains by providing an affordable and efficient transportation
