Opinion Essay
An opinion essay tells what the writer thinks or feels about a topic. People have different opinions
about things. In an opinion essay, you write your opinion about a topic. When you write an opinion
essay, you choose a topic about which you have strong feelings. You support your opinion with
reasons. For this Unit Project, you are going to write an opinion essay about the wetlands of
Mississippi.
Writing Process
Part I: Prewriting
Ideas As you learned in Unit 1, Mississippi has wetlands in the northwesten part of the state. Some
people have opinions about the importance of wetlands, protecting existing wetlands, and protecting
the species that live in wetlands. All of these can be ideas for an opinion essay....show more content...

these examples:
Weak Opening
I think Mississippi's wetlands are very important.
Strong Opening
Mississippi's wetlands help prevent floods and provide homes for animals and plants.
Write the body of your essay. Tell why you think your opinion is correct. Begin a new paragraph for

way that your reader will remember. Look at these examples.
Weak Closing
Mississippi's wetlands should be preserved.
Strong Closing

and about them. We protected wonderful animals and plants that help make our state special.

opinion? Did you support your reasons with details? Does your opening catch a reader's attention?
Is your conclusion strong? Word Choice Think about the words you used. Use synonyms to replace
words you use too often. Synonyms are words with the same or nearly the same meaning.

Fear Personal Essay
Fear
Fear is an emotion produced by the brain to avoid a potentially bad situation or it is also anxiety
caused by the presence of danger. Fear is caused by a threatening situation. Winston Churchill once
said, " The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself." This famous saying shows that fear affects
people as much as they let it affect them. The way I deal with my fears is to try to overcome them
or not let them get to me. But it's not always easy. I'm 16 years old, and I still can't dangle my feet
over the edge of the bed in the dark. How pathetic. I know that big hairy hands with strong
knuckles will grab my brittle ankles and drag me down to a black hole of terror. Of course, this is
never a conscious thought when my foot...show more content...
No creature is comfortable with change as the saying goes "better the devil ya know than the
devil ya don't".There is huge fear in change. But we humans especially, fear many different things
maybe that is wrong to say and I only think that because I am human and haven't studied the fears
of other creatures but lets just go with it. For example; death, disease, old age, commitment,
noises in the night, pain, responsibility, work, being too fat or too thin, or any number of other
things. Some of our fears are reasonable and rationale, like the fear for our safety so we lock our
doors at night, never walk alone on dark streets, and turn on lots of lights to keep the boogie man
away. We all can remember the boogie man from our childhood! He's a great one to scare the
children! But we also fear for our health so we diet, exercise, and eat only healthy foods. Our fears
can also help us make wise decisions: where to live, what to do with our money, how to raise our
children, even what kind of car to drive and whether or not to drive it. They can be helpful too
and if they weren't there something bad could really happen. Personally terror gives us boundaries
that we don't like to wonder from. Our fears may be sudden like when your kid brother jumps out
behind you and yells 'boo'. People's fears can be built up over a long period of time. I certainly know
some of my weird ones' are.

Personal Development Essay
Many people work very hard in their life but they do not seem to be able to achieve something
worthwhile (Personal Goal Setting, 2013). Successful people on the other hand, know what they
want and create plans to help them achieve these goals. They will establish a step by step plan, and
will continue to follow that plan until their goal is achieved. These people tend to be proactive
rather than be reactive. Personal planning is really important because it helps you not only to
achieve your goals but to tell you how you can achieve them. Without a personal plan, it will be hard
to attain any objectives you want to complete. Whether it is a short–term goal or a long–term goal,
there must be a strategy on how to reach it. Having goals at...show more content...
Or you may want to have a positive monthly cash flow of $500 dollars to be put in the savings
account, so then you will need to plan on how you should lower your expenses to reach the monthly
cash flow you want.
Goal setting is therefore really important in our everyday personal life. However in my case, I have
difficulty managing my time for schoolwork and personal finances.
For schoolwork, I always finish my schoolwork in the last minute or study right before quizzes or
tests. A reason for this may be due to I never planned a schedule for how and when will I study for
a test or for a project. I usually forget about having a test or is just lazy to start studying for it. This
is why when I start studying the night before the test or exam, I have a hard time trying to figure
what should I study first and what I should study last. Then, a lot of time is wasted on deciding how
I should start studying. I usually tend to wait for things such as exams and schoolwork to appear
before addressing them.
In order to be better at personal planning and become more successful, a specific strategy must be
implemented relating to goal–setting and time management. Studying for exams require a lot of
time and hard work to achieve good grades. The first task to do if you want to be successful at
school is to set a goal about getting good grades. Without this goal,

1. INTRODUCTION
Reflective writing is evidence of reflective thinking, which is a beneficial learning tool as it allows
me to critically think about my personal employability skills. This self–reflection mode of writing
allows me to recognise and identify my current skills, strengths, weaknesses, progress and
achievements.
2. TIME MANAGEMENT
Time–management is one of my core academic and employability skills I possess. This skill
allows me to prioritise effectively, which includes planning workloads, alongside arriving in a
timely manner to places such as work or university. Planning my time for university workloads ' is a

I feel this was a good experience, as it has enabled me to develop and become more independent to
further increase my skills, as being out of my comfort zone allows me to explore new depths, which
allows me to push past my boundaries in the future, and embrace new changes and challenges.
I was able to make friends easily by applying my interpersonal skills amongst others. This included
joining societies as well as, using my communication skills during my seminar group work
discussions, where I demonstrated my teamwork skills by co–operating with others during a shared
task. Working with others is a vital skill, as I did not only collaborate with them, but learn from
them by listening to their thoughts, as we all had diverse ideas and perspectives. This point leads
back to my anxiety of interacting within a new environment, which allowed me to step out of my
comfort zone and, associate with people from different backgrounds.
Therefore, this was a learning curve experience, as I met new people in the same situation as
myself, which made me feel more comfortable and at ease. Personally, I think there 's a first time

Research Paper On My Hobbies
With regards to my personal life, I have been particularly blessed to have experienced a joyful and
easy–going life. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and later moved to Ventura, a
city just south of Santa Barbara. As a result, its safe to assume that I've been and will always be a
California kid. The beach was walking distance away from my home and the weather was always
warm and sunny. My family also have been pivotal in instilling a happy demeanor by always
inculcating my psyche with positive attitudes coupled with kind and outgoing manners to people of
all colors, creeds, and nationalities.
Furthermore, I wouldn't that I have a wide array of hobbies, however I more so have a set of
hobbies which I focus on at an extremely high level with a large degree of proficiency. To further
explain, two hobbies that I particularly enjoy are creating and playing music, as well as writing.
With regards to music, I have been playing guitar for over a year now, and I can honestly say it
has had one of the most profound effects upon my life imaginable. Music offers the only outlet
that I can fathom which can allow to forget about the world around me. All the problems I am
having, all the issues of the world that can bog me down, are eliminated because once I pick up the
guitar, I'm essentially one with the instrument, all the focus of my human psyche is upon the music
being played and if it's particularly good, I'll maniacally write it down to preserve it. Which is an

Meticulous surgeons were tasked with removing soft tissue from my right thigh, and placing it into

accurate adjective. Insisting to drive, my mother and I made our way to South River High School

Personal Statement: A Personal Application
Background. My application paper addresses a relationship that I have with a colleague of mine
who I met in the Fall of 2013. My colleague's name has been changed for privacy purposes. The
first interaction with Stephen came when I was pledging a fraternity on campus. Stephen was a
handsome guy, he spent a good amount of his time to maintain his physique and professional
appearance. The first time I met him was during a pledge meeting. Stephen was the director at the
time and came to speak to our new member class regarding our financial obligation we had
committed to and how we would go about paying it. I remember thinking "wow" I am going to stay
out of that kid's way and do my best to be unrecognized by him throughout my pledge process. As the
pledge process continued, Stephen began inviting me into his "friend circle" within the fraternity.
Naturally I was excited that an older member of the house wanted me to hang out with the most
tenured members. Stephen would constantly boast about his accomplishments on campus and
leadership positions that he had taken on (which were quite impressive), he also admired himself
about his strength in the weight room and most of all how attracted members of our sororities on
campus were to him. Stephen was constantly crediting...show more content...

Personal Behavior Change
Everyone has different challenge in his/her life ,and he/she may have different view on the same
thing. Therefore, people will have different goals which they are eager to achieve. Based on what
my life looks like and what I need in my life, my behavior change is to exercise at least one hour
every day. The reasons why I choose this goal are because I want to spend some time relaxing
from my daily life, and get the balance between education and occupation. Moreover, I expect to
burn the fat in my body because I spend very little time for workout since I got a job. When I
planned to accomplish this behavior change, I knew that challenges or difficulties would appear,
I could not avoid them and I could not finish it easily. But I am the kind of person who likes
challenge and I am not afraid of it. Therefore, I chose this behavior change. During the process of
this behavior change, I met a lot of difficulties and I learn how to get balance well in my life. The
first and the biggest difficulty is time because the time availability is limit for me. Because I have
two summer classes and I need to work five days weekly, time is huge challenge for me during the
process. My schedule looks like going school on the morning and working at the evening. Therefore,

is full of challenges for me. But I would reduce the time for working or others so that everything
can get balance if I continue to keep working on this behavior change. I will try my best to continue
this behavior change because it will make my body strong and

The World Today Is At Your Fingers Tips
The world today is at your fingers tips: technology through Internet has made it easier than ever to
learn about different cultures and associate with people around the globe. With social media one can
have friends from different cultural backgrounds and learn about their cultures and how their culture
influences business as it is performed within the society. Additionally, learning the language of the
culture is a very smart step to take if you are interested in starting a business. International business
determines the broad understanding of the other side's culture and how to engage properly and
effectively within it. The norms and values implemented as children will have a strong influence
on shaping people's personalities: how people view others with mutual respect and further
understanding largely depends on how one was brought up by her/his parents. My parents played a
major role in bringing me up to carry values that eventually gave me the knowledge I have to deal
with people in my own society and with people around the globe
My parents had always played a major role in providing me with the knowledge and support needed
to engage in a diverse world. They implanted several values within me as a child and those values
were attached to me as I have grown to be a father, such as honesty, love for others what I love for
myself, and always to show appreciation. These are three values that I appreciated my parents
spending time and effort to instill within me as a child.

Personal Interview Essay
I think that conducting a personal interview like this was a great way to gain knowledge. When I
talked with Mr. McCaskill, I learned a lot of things, most of them way beyond just the questions
given to ask. We talked of different things that he experienced and many things that he has learned
and researched over the years. It was very suprising, to be truthful, and we were actually able to
carry very interesting conversations about the explosion. When it came to the community and the
people around me, I learned a lot of how they acted during the time and somethings that they could
have been thinking. Mr. McCaskill told me about the jokes his high school classmates made when
the first nuclear explosion happened in Pennsyvania and how it thought it was funny that they made
fun of the Soviets and later married one. He let me in on how people were worried about the
Soviets, them gaining power, but when they saw the terrible safety haziards that caused the
explosion, the feelings changed. Of course they felt sympathtic but to the most part, the feeling of

it includes people being interviewed and half of newcasts these days are the same way. I think

Physics deals with the most fundamental concepts to understand the intricate beauties of daily
life. This led me to dedicate my undergraduate studies to Physics, in order to expand my
knowledge of the field. I enjoy studying Physics and try to keep up with different findings by
regularly reading scientific publications in Physics. During my undergraduate studies, I was
attracted towards small and compact, but very effective, technologies so my brother bought me a
few electronic devices to do some experiments with by taking apart the various components and
figuring out how they worked. To gain the essential knowledge behind these devices, I started
reading more in depth material on how the macro and micro scale properties of solid materials are
related and their applications in the scaling down of devices.
To broaden my knowledge of crystallography, electromagnetism andquantum mechanics and to
figure out the atomic–scale properties of solid materials, I opted to pursue a specialization in Solid
State Physics for my first Master's degree program from one of the well–known universities in India,

My Personal Tips For College Essay
My Personal Tips to be Successful in College and Life. Choosing where you want to attend for
college is a one of the most stressful choice you have to make for your future. As a freshman in
college it was difficult to choose where I wanted to attend for various reason like the learning
environment and the courses offered. But after making comparisons between so many schools I
chose to attend WATC. After making the transition fromhigh school to college I, thought I was fully
prepared for what college was going to be like, but instead I was wrong. When the time got closer to
take my first exam for my microbiology class, I was struggling with managing my time to
balancing my homework, work, friends, family, and other personal time. And as a result I
received one of the worst grades I had ever gotten in a long time. Graduating with honors in high
school, being on top of my class, while being involved in my school, sports, my community, and
working. I started to get very worried and stressed about everything I was going through in that
moment. And began to question myself if I was making the right decision for everything and I
ended up realizing I needed to make changes to how well I was managing my time and making a
schedule to stay on track with all my tasks. This is why I belive in order to be successful in college
you must learn to manage your time by getting into the habit of developing a time schedule to help
you achieve your goals. You can began by determining the goals

Personal Essay
Of all the forms of literature, the most interesting might be the fairytales, or the science fiction
thriller about robots. However, there lacks the sense of truth, in a way blocking the reader from true
connection with the story. Memoir is real, memoir is true, and memoir can range from any end of
the ocean in structure and theme. I think there are many reasons why I like first person narratives.
For one, most of the noteworthy personal essays are written by famous personal essay authors. I

of timeless aspects of the world. Computers come and go, but the feeling you have when your
dream girlfriend brings her new guy to the ritual Thursday night bar, that's a feeling we all have
had. And those are the things a memoir provides me as the reader. And we are in the point of
history where people have been free, allowed to experience anything, or forced to enter war. I
begin to consider an essay I wrote earlier about my abs. Then a photo of my family, and then an
essay I tried to write on quitting tennis yet never really spent enough energy for fear that I would

revealing about me. Every time I got a paper back, it had a small part of each essay that was

Personal Change Essay
For every change within a society, personal changes with "self" must happen. These social
changes are important to people while, people who don't benefit from it think changes within the
self isn't important for social changes. Personal change is a journey a person takes of discovering
something within themselves and acting upon a social change. That social change is society
evolving to better ways. Jane Goodall talks about her experience in a moment of truth with self

This crisis had changed her "self" from within when getting away from the upsetting environment
that she was in and to be with animals that felt no pity for her. She found peace within herself and

became a part of a social change. Similarly, African Americans participated in the protests and at the
NAACP movement seeking for equality between the blacks and the whites. They had to go through
social change or a tough experience in life that made them realize that enough was enough and to
cope with their grief was through social change. Gladwell speaks on the behalf of the protesters who

rest of the African Americans were going through. Each and everyone of them had to go through
the pain which lead to a personal change for them, becoming an activist who is ready to fight for a
social change. One of the stages of grief, is denial where you question everything that comes to
mind. Grieving changes a person's inner self or the "self" Goodall refers to that makes them want to
be a part of a social change or activism. A personal change can include losing someone or being let

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests
and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some
factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a
person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture
may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and

Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends
I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music'
is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of
adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart
pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I
love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be
on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics
that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly
consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering
(especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is
measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very

  • 4. Fear Personal Essay Fear Fear is an emotion produced by the brain to avoid a potentially bad situation or it is also anxiety caused by the presence of danger. Fear is caused by a threatening situation. Winston Churchill once said, " The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself." This famous saying shows that fear affects people as much as they let it affect them. The way I deal with my fears is to try to overcome them or not let them get to me. But it's not always easy. I'm 16 years old, and I still can't dangle my feet over the edge of the bed in the dark. How pathetic. I know that big hairy hands with strong knuckles will grab my brittle ankles and drag me down to a black hole of terror. Of course, this is never a conscious thought when my foot...show more content... No creature is comfortable with change as the saying goes "better the devil ya know than the devil ya don't".There is huge fear in change. But we humans especially, fear many different things maybe that is wrong to say and I only think that because I am human and haven't studied the fears of other creatures but lets just go with it. For example; death, disease, old age, commitment, noises in the night, pain, responsibility, work, being too fat or too thin, or any number of other things. Some of our fears are reasonable and rationale, like the fear for our safety so we lock our doors at night, never walk alone on dark streets, and turn on lots of lights to keep the boogie man away. We all can remember the boogie man from our childhood! He's a great one to scare the children! But we also fear for our health so we diet, exercise, and eat only healthy foods. Our fears can also help us make wise decisions: where to live, what to do with our money, how to raise our children, even what kind of car to drive and whether or not to drive it. They can be helpful too and if they weren't there something bad could really happen. Personally terror gives us boundaries that we don't like to wonder from. Our fears may be sudden like when your kid brother jumps out behind you and yells 'boo'. People's fears can be built up over a long period of time. I certainly know some of my weird ones' are. • 5. Personal Development Essay Many people work very hard in their life but they do not seem to be able to achieve something worthwhile (Personal Goal Setting, 2013). Successful people on the other hand, know what they want and create plans to help them achieve these goals. They will establish a step by step plan, and will continue to follow that plan until their goal is achieved. These people tend to be proactive rather than be reactive. Personal planning is really important because it helps you not only to achieve your goals but to tell you how you can achieve them. Without a personal plan, it will be hard to attain any objectives you want to complete. Whether it is a short–term goal or a long–term goal, there must be a strategy on how to reach it. Having goals at...show more content... Or you may want to have a positive monthly cash flow of $500 dollars to be put in the savings account, so then you will need to plan on how you should lower your expenses to reach the monthly cash flow you want. Goal setting is therefore really important in our everyday personal life. However in my case, I have difficulty managing my time for schoolwork and personal finances. For schoolwork, I always finish my schoolwork in the last minute or study right before quizzes or tests. A reason for this may be due to I never planned a schedule for how and when will I study for a test or for a project. I usually forget about having a test or is just lazy to start studying for it. This is why when I start studying the night before the test or exam, I have a hard time trying to figure what should I study first and what I should study last. Then, a lot of time is wasted on deciding how I should start studying. I usually tend to wait for things such as exams and schoolwork to appear before addressing them. In order to be better at personal planning and become more successful, a specific strategy must be implemented relating to goal–setting and time management. Studying for exams require a lot of time and hard work to achieve good grades. The first task to do if you want to be successful at school is to set a goal about getting good grades. I was able to make friends easily by applying my interpersonal skills amongst others. This included joining societies as well as, using my communication skills during my seminar group work discussions, where I demonstrated my teamwork skills by co–operating with others during a shared task. Working with others is a vital skill, as I did not only collaborate with them, but learn from them by listening to their thoughts, as we all had diverse ideas and perspectives. This point leads back to my anxiety of interacting within a new environment, which allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and, associate with people from different backgrounds. Therefore, this was a learning curve experience, as I met new people in the same situation as myself, which made me feel more comfortable and at ease. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and later moved to Ventura, a city just south of Santa Barbara. As a result, its safe to assume that I've been and will always be a California kid. The beach was walking distance away from my home and the weather was always warm and sunny. To further explain, two hobbies that I particularly enjoy are creating and playing music, as well as writing. With regards to music, I have been playing guitar for over a year now, and I can honestly say it has had one of the most profound effects upon my life imaginable. Music offers the only outlet that I can fathom which can allow to forget about the world around me. All the problems I am having, all the issues of the world that can bog me down, are eliminated because once I pick up the guitar, I'm essentially one with the instrument, all the focus of my human psyche is upon the music being played and if it's particularly good, I'll maniacally write it down to preserve it. • 9. Personal Statement: A Personal Application Background. My application paper addresses a relationship that I have with a colleague of mine who I met in the Fall of 2013. My colleague's name has been changed for privacy purposes. The first interaction with Stephen came when I was pledging a fraternity on campus. Stephen was a handsome guy, he spent a good amount of his time to maintain his physique and professional appearance. The first time I met him was during a pledge meeting. Stephen was the director at the time and came to speak to our new member class regarding our financial obligation we had committed to and how we would go about paying it. I remember thinking "wow" I am going to stay out of that kid's way and do my best to be unrecognized by him throughout my pledge process. As the pledge process continued, Stephen began inviting me into his "friend circle" within the fraternity. Naturally I was excited that an older member of the house wanted me to hang out with the most tenured members. • 10. Personal Behavior Change Everyone has different challenge in his/her life ,and he/she may have different view on the same thing. Therefore, people will have different goals which they are eager to achieve. Based on what my life looks like and what I need in my life, my behavior change is to exercise at least one hour every day. The reasons why I choose this goal are because I want to spend some time relaxing from my daily life, and get the balance between education and occupation. Moreover, I expect to burn the fat in my body because I spend very little time for workout since I got a job. When I planned to accomplish this behavior change, I knew that challenges or difficulties would appear, I could not avoid them and I could not finish it easily. But I am the kind of person who likes challenge and I am not afraid of it. Therefore, I chose this behavior change. During the process of this behavior change, I met a lot of difficulties and I learn how to get balance well in my life. The first and the biggest difficulty is time because the time availability is limit for me. • 11. The World Today Is At Your Fingers Tips The world today is at your fingers tips: technology through Internet has made it easier than ever to learn about different cultures and associate with people around the globe. With social media one can have friends from different cultural backgrounds and learn about their cultures and how their culture influences business as it is performed within the society. Additionally, learning the language of the culture is a very smart step to take if you are interested in starting a business. International business determines the broad understanding of the other side's culture and how to engage properly and effectively within it. The norms and values implemented as children will have a strong influence on shaping people's personalities: how people view others with mutual respect and further understanding largely depends on how one was brought up by her/his parents. My parents played a major role in bringing me up to carry values that eventually gave me the knowledge I have to deal with people in my own society and with people around the globe My parents had always played a major role in providing me with the knowledge and support needed to engage in a diverse world. They implanted several values within me as a child and those values were attached to me as I have grown to be a father, such as honesty, love for others what I love for myself, and always to show appreciation. These are three values that I appreciated my parents spending time and effort to instill within me as a child. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Personal Interview Essay I think that conducting a personal interview like this was a great way to gain knowledge. When I talked with Mr. McCaskill, I learned a lot of things, most of them way beyond just the questions given to ask. We talked of different things that he experienced and many things that he has learned and researched over the years. It was very suprising, to be truthful, and we were actually able to carry very interesting conversations about the explosion. When it came to the community and the people around me, I learned a lot of how they acted during the time and somethings that they could have been thinking. Mr. McCaskill told me about the jokes his high school classmates made when the first nuclear explosion happened in Pennsyvania and how it thought it was funny that they made fun of the Soviets and later married one. He let me in on how people were worried about the Soviets, them gaining power, but when they saw the terrible safety haziards that caused the explosion, the feelings changed. I grew up in a very small town. A town not fully developed; there were very few resources and not many quality schools to acquire a solid education. I had to pass an entrance exam to get into a good school for 8th grade at a time when most students in my town would drop out of school after 7th grade in order to search for work and support their families. Physics deals with the most fundamental concepts to understand the intricate beauties of daily life. This led me to dedicate my undergraduate studies to Physics, in order to expand my knowledge of the field. I enjoy studying Physics and try to keep up with different findings by regularly reading scientific publications in Physics. During my undergraduate studies, I was attracted towards small and compact, but very effective, technologies so my brother bought me a few electronic devices to do some experiments with by taking apart the various components and figuring out how they worked. To gain the essential knowledge behind these devices, I started reading more in depth material on how the macro and micro scale properties of solid materials are related and their applications in the scaling down of devices. To broaden my knowledge of crystallography, electromagnetism andquantum mechanics and to figure out the atomic–scale properties of solid materials, I opted to pursue a specialization in Solid State Physics for my first Master's degree program from one of the well–known universities in India, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU). After the mandatory entrance examination, I was selected as one of the 400 candidates for a personal interview and was selected as one of 25 students accepted as a graduate student to the Physics Department. • 14. My Personal Tips For College Essay My Personal Tips to be Successful in College and Life. Choosing where you want to attend for college is a one of the most stressful choice you have to make for your future. As a freshman in college it was difficult to choose where I wanted to attend for various reason like the learning environment and the courses offered. But after making comparisons between so many schools I chose to attend WATC. After making the transition fromhigh school to college I, thought I was fully prepared for what college was going to be like, but instead I was wrong. When the time got closer to take my first exam for my microbiology class, I was struggling with managing my time to balancing my homework, work, friends, family, and other personal time. And as a result I received one of the worst grades I had ever gotten in a long time. Graduating with honors in high school, being on top of my class, while being involved in my school, sports, my community, and working. I started to get very worried and stressed about everything I was going through in that moment. And began to question myself if I was making the right decision for everything and I ended up realizing I needed to make changes to how well I was managing my time and making a schedule to stay on track with all my tasks. This is why I belive in order to be successful in college you must learn to manage your time by getting into the habit of developing a time schedule to help you achieve your goals. However, there lacks the sense of truth, in a way blocking the reader from true connection with the story. Memoir is real, memoir is true, and memoir can range from any end of the ocean in structure and theme. I think there are many reasons why I like first person narratives. For one, most of the noteworthy personal essays are written by famous personal essay authors. I think reading a personal essay is like having a deep conversation with someone. Computers come and go, but the feeling you have when your dream girlfriend brings her new guy to the ritual Thursday night bar, that's a feeling we all have had. And those are the things a memoir provides me as the reader. And we are in the point of history where people have been free, allowed to experience anything, or forced to enter war. I begin to consider an essay I wrote earlier about my abs. Then a photo of my family, and then an essay I tried to write on quitting tennis yet never really spent enough energy for fear that I would get emotional. I consider an essay for today that is revealing of personal essays simultaneously revealing about me. Every time I got a paper back, it had a small part of each essay that was circled, indicating that the real topic of my paper was not elaborated enough on. What was wrong with my writing? I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science.Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future. I can remember in high school, it seemed like I was always one of the last students finished with a test. I was sometimes slower at completing a written paper or an assignment. In open discussions...show more content... I have discovered some interesting things I have noticed in myself before taking this course. For example, my learning style I have noticed is the visual learning style. With this, I prefer to see and read information to full gain comprehension. If I forget the data, or not clearly understand it the first time read, I have the option of reading it over. I do not always trust myself to absorb all information the first time around. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at least I know what they mean. I like to take my time with material, but am not always given the allotted time to do so. I also like to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this far, it must work out for me. I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material being discussed. If I have no idea what is being addressed, I am better of keeping quiet to save myself from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Personal Change Essay For every change within a society, personal changes with "self" must happen. These social changes are important to people while, people who don't benefit from it think changes within the self isn't important for social changes. Personal change is a journey a person takes of discovering something within themselves and acting upon a social change. That social change is society evolving to better ways. Jane Goodall talks about her experience in a moment of truth with self being absent in a moment of need in her writing titled In the Forest of Gombe, where she spends a few weeks in the forest following chimpanzees has helped her cope with her grief of her husband. She comes to the realization that her "self" was nonexistent and everyone in...show more content... This crisis had changed her "self" from within when getting away from the upsetting environment that she was in and to be with animals that felt no pity for her. She found peace within herself and her surroundings. Most African Americans like Goodall found strength within that "self" and became a part of a social change. Similarly, African Americans participated in the protests and at the NAACP movement seeking for equality between the blacks and the whites. They had to go through social change or a tough experience in life that made them realize that enough was enough and to cope with their grief was through social change. Gladwell speaks on the behalf of the protesters who found strength to fight back saying, "It spread to those cities which had preexisting "movement centers"–a core of dedicated and trained activists ready to turn the "fever" into action" (Gladwell 139). Those people who lived in small towns that no one heard of still were going through what the rest of the African Americans were going through. Each and everyone of them had to go through the pain which lead to a personal change for them, becoming an activist who is ready to fight for a social change. One of the stages of grief, is denial where you question everything that comes to mind. Grieving changes a person's inner self or the "self" Goodall refers to that makes them want to be a part of a social change or activism. A personal change can include losing someone or being let Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Personal Essay On Personal Relationships The love from my family and friends are life's greatest blessings as each relationship has molded me into the person that I am today. My relationships with my mother, father, Nanna, and my friends Addy and Kirsten are all ones that are meaningful to my life. By focusing on keeping these relationships strong, I, in turn, am rewarded with dependable relationships that I can rely on. To continue the longevity and stability with the following five people that have strongly impacted my life, I must continue to use specific relational maintenance strategies such as rituals and relational currencies. Mother My mother and I have always had a close bond in our relationship. When I was young, my mother was forced to raise me on her own, and during this time is when we developed a strong connection. Our relationship has never consisted of fighting, only the usual bickering that occurred during my teenage years. I have always reached out to my mother when I need advice, a shoulder to cry on, or am simply looking for a good laugh. Without I doubt, I consider my mother, my best friend because she continues to love me unconditionally despite the mistakes that I make. Together we are very open with each other and I value the fact that I tell her everything because I know this is something that is unique to a mother–daughter relationship. Our relationship is successful because we use the relational maintenance strategies of recognition and acceptance to sustain our relationship. Even Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. My Personal Identity Essay A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet...show more content... Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have not had too many educational Get more content on HelpWriting.net
