3. We met in the parking near the supermarket Tesco on
Sunday 31st January, at 4:50 am. The bus to Warsaw
airport was waiting for us. During the trip I had mixed
feelings. I was glad because of the travel, but I didn't know
the family, with which I stay and whether we will get along.
The journey was long and tiring. I was curious how does
Nikoleta look and what is she like. Around 10 pm we finally
hit Heraklion, our destination and the girl and her parents
took me to their house. After the first conversation I felt
that we will get along. She was nice and made a good
impression on me. I will remember her, her parents and
Greece well.

7. On Monday, February 1, my day started at 6:40. After the
breakfast, the host mother drove us to the bus stop, and we
went by the school bus to the music school in Heraklion.
Around 8:05 am we all met outside the school telling, how we
spent the first night in a new place. The day at the school
began with a prayer and then lessons started; we attended
the lessons with our Cretan students (each of us with his/her
person of the exchange). The students and teachers have
warmly greeted us. We quickly established new friendships.
We talked with students from the partner’s countries and took
a lot of pictures.
8.
9. After some lessons we listened to rehearsal with school
orchestra and chorus; it was for student’s concert on Thursday.
Later, about 14:30 we went back to home for a family dinner
during which the families had the chance to get to know us.
Although it was my first day on Crete, I quickly stopped feeling
stressed and became friends with my exchange partner. After
school we always had free time just for us. That day I returned
with my new friend from Koutouloufar to Heraklion, to see the
sea. We walked two hours enjoying the views, taking pictures
and collecting memories. After returning home, we sat down
with the host parents in front of the TV. Very quickly we felt
tired and after the first busy day, we went to our rooms to
sleep.

11. On Tuesday we went to school again. I walked to school
and admired the view. I saw sea and mountains. The view
was wonderful.
In the school, the project partners: the students from
Rumania, France, Poland, Italy and Greece, had
presentation of own schools.
Presentations were about: free time, school and abut
culture and traditions of the country. I loved the Greek
presentation. At the end of the schools presentations
there was a communication via skype with Italy to
announce the results on project’s logo voting (Italy won).
13. Later we watched the show of Greek traditional
dance and music. The dancers were the students
of the music school in Gournes. They were
performing in Greek costumes. I was very
impressed by the dance show and the Greek
costumes. After the show, students taught us how
to dance their way, which was a great idea.

15. Today I woke up at 7 o'clock and I ate breakfast with my Greek
family. Next me and my exchange student went to Gournes, to
the Music School of Heraklion. Here we had a lesson about
musical instruments. After that we went by bus to the
Heraklion Archaeological Museum. In this museum we could
see a lot of artefacts from all the periods of Cretan prehistory
and history, covering a chronological span of over 5,500 years
from the Neolithic period to Roman times, such as vases,
armament, gold and silver jewellery, images and statues. I
took many photos.
17. Next we went to the Historical Museum of Crete. Here were
monuments from old Sparta an World War II. Next we went
to the sea to make some photos.
At the end of our day we went to a restaurant to have lunch
together. When I came back to my Greek home I spoke
with the host parents about our museum trip. At the
evening Polish and Greek students went to explore the city.
We spent some time in the central park and then we went
for a coffee and a cake. When I came back home I called
my parents in Poland to tell them, what I was doing today.

20. Thursday was a very important day for all pupils. Since the morning all
felt stressed before our show. In the morning, as usual we went to
school. First three lessons we spent with our new Greek friends from
school. Personally I really enjoyed it, because I really liked my new
class and I stay in touch with them. For today a trip to Knossos was
planned, but the striking farmers blocked all major roads in whole
Greece, so we went to the museum of Nikos Kazantzakis, the Greek
writer and traveler-author of the very popular Greek novel „Greek
Zorba”. From the guide we learned a lot about boths, his travels and
his private life. After we left the museum we went to a nearby café,
where Nikos (my classmate) played piano-he was really good! After
some time we went by bus back to school and then to our Greek
houses.
22. We didn't have much time left to rehearsals so we
dressed up and made quickly make-up.
When we got to the St Marcos basilica, we took a
part in rehearsal and then had some free time.
Nikoleta stayed with her friends. I went shopping
with other Polish girls. When we were going back we
met a man who was very happy to hear Polish
language. From our short talk we learned that he is
Polish and has been here in Greece since 1999. He
said that we have to come back to Crete in summer.
23. When we arrived to the basilica we were really nervous. After
few songs it was time for our „Imagine”. The Principal was
reading names of the students from foreign countries, the
students went on the stage, where they were given a
participation certificate. When my turn came and I received a
certificate with a gift I decided to thank whole-heartedly all
the parents, students and people involved in the project.
When I stood in front of the microphone the stress blocked
my speech, but after few seconds the words of gratitude
flowed straight from my heart.
25. When I finished I was trembling, and very happy at the
same time. I went to stand in the row next to Nikoleta.
Then I saw her parents and her little brother, that gave me
an encouragement. After a while when all students and
teachers were standing in a line, we started singing
„Imagine”. It was awesome.
After the concert teachers took us to the Greek feast with
traditional food and music performed by students. When
we returned home it was midnight so we went to sleep.

27. Friday was a day of farewells. The last breakfast together
with the family, the last “Good Morning” to my host family. In
contrast to the previous days I enjoyed bread with lot of
honey. At the end of our breakfast my host mum handed me
a small gift, and I thanked for the warm welcoming, for the
great atmosphere, that I could feel as at home. Wonderful
people, welcomed me to their family, wonderful memories.
We cried all, we do not like goodbyes.
28. We came in the morning to the school with our suitcases, here we spent
two hours. We did not believe it, that this adventure is already over. No one
wanted to end it. Two hours flew on talking and promising that we will meet
here, in Greece, again.
We went for a walk on the beach with our new friends. Last walk … last
photos … last tears … last conversations. Beautiful views, good weather
and friends … these cannot be forgotten. We will never forget them.
29. Back to school, taking suitcases, the road to the bus,
the last hug, the last word. Tears again ...
After 2,5 hours we finally got to Chania. The way
from the bus station to the hotel was very hard,
walking with 20-pound suitcase at a fairly high hill
would seem quite easy unfortunately we were totally .
After we got to the hotel, we had two hours of rest,
then we left for the dinner. We spent time together
and the day finished around 11.00 p.m.

31. On Saturday we woke up early, because we didn't
want to be late like yesterday. We ate breakfast and
went to see the city. At first we went to harbour to take
photos. We felt like Hollywood stars on a professional
photo shooting. When we finished, we walked to the
Maritime Museum of Crete. We saw mockups of
ships, aqua-lungs and sea animals.
32.
33. Then we went to the city centre. Unfortunately the
synagogue was closed, so we went straight to the
old market, where everyone bought some
souvenirs for family. On a way back we wanted to
see the lighthouse but waves were so big that we
couldn't get there. We all agreed that it's time for
a meal. We found easily a restaurant and ate
tasty lunch there.
35. After lunch we went back to hotel and started to
pack our stuff, sing, dance and getting ready to
go to restaurant and have a dinner. When all
the girls looked like stars we went to nice
restaurant in the harbor. At dinner we were
talking and having fun all together. On a way
back to hotel we felt nervous about tomorrows
trip.

36. We woke up at the 3:00 am and had breakfast in our hotel.
Then we drove to airport with bus. We were waiting for our
plane 2 hours. Then we flew from Chania to Athens. Next
plane, from Athens to Warsaw, we had only half an hour after
our landing from Chania, so we had to run to the gate! At
10:30 a.m. we landed at Chopin Airport in Warsaw. There was
our bus to Wąbrzeźno waiting. On the way back home, we
stopped to eat dinner in a restaurant. To Wąbrzeźno we got at
3:00 pm. The Travel was very tiring but everybody was very
happy
